hatch is good because it solves the "last survivor just hides" issue.

if you want it out, you need a proper replacement.

    what you offered isn't it.

egc on gens also fixes hide in the 2 left vs 1 killer multiple gens. Respectfully, If you don’t like it, maybe come up with an idea too?

So you just want a free kill got it.

So what I play how I want.

I don’t see how you don’t see as survivor not completing all gens and getting hatch as a free escape…it’s not really a free kill the killer wiped the floor with the team. The team lost…if hatch spawned we lost if all 5 gens aren’t done. Its a free escape…that a singular survivor has the possibility of getting…for their side losing.

It will do the complete opposite if I was the last survivor and there was no hatch I would just hide and waste the killers time for as long as possible to make them miserable.

Put on a timer to finish the gen and get out similar to egc in the event of.

also that’s just a rude thing to do, there’s nothing to be gained from that other than being in trial longer doing nothing. Sounds boring on both ends.

He's not going to get the buff he deserves if his kill rates are padded with free kills from end game.

Balance his power in endgame with that of other killers and buff his kit for during the trial.

I still to this day believe he should start with all his traps, and the trap resource should function similar to hags is disabled, you just get it back.

    Hello, fellow 2018 player.

I think the hatch is fine as it is, no reason to remove it.

If that’s how you feel I get it, I just feel differently. Also times have changed since 2018. I used to post on here all the time, but just recently came back to the forums, so nice to see another long time player around on here still.

This. You need to be able to give a good answer to this @HeroLives if you want a meaningful discussion about removing Hatch.

I mean I feel like removing is hatch is fair, the survivors lost. If you finish the last gen bc 1 gen is left and you and the other person got that far but they died, just finish the gen or run for your life and killer earns their kill. It’s not an absurd thought for a survivor to finish their gen to get out. gate spawns and you power it as normal. I genuinely feel we shouldn’t get hatch with multiple gens left. It’s a cheap very pity win. We also lost at that point if there’s only two people left with multiple gens mostly turns into a drawn out hide for hatch in solo bc teamwork comes second in solo save your own skin.

Solo survivor rates are already garbage bc people aren’t working together bc at any point everyone can get killed off and there’s still always hatch for last person standing. Hatch encourages selfish gameplay, that’s just my opinion. That’s fine if you disagree, or have differing opinions.

  • @HerInfernalMajesty said:

I respect your feelings on the subject.

But personally I think the hatch should stay. For me it’s really fun searching for hatch as a last ditch effort to escape.

When I play as the Killer I never mind when a Survivor escapes through the hatch. It adds a really fun last scene of action to the match imo.

Whether I play as Survivor or Killer, and whether the Survivor escapes through hatch or gets killed it’s still all fun to me.

I respect your opinion, though we disagree.

So you have not solution and you just want to get your free kill. Then my answer will be same as other replies: No.

    Thank you so much.

I mean I’ve finished 2 gens all alone just me left. It was different times though, before egc. I see the before and after. I think removing hatch will force survivors to play smarter and stop being overly hidey and altruistic and think about their plays more. Hatch doesn’t even reward good game play. You can be the worst most non contributing person on the team and get it. It’s a freebie and encourages selfish plays. Get rid of it is how I feel.

I play in very large majority survivor. As duo or solo, but okay don’t read.

And how you will finish game when only one survivor left? At this point, sitting on gen as last survivor will be just suicide. So if you have fair solution, please tell me

I’m saying if there’s one gen and 2 survivors that’s fine, doable even. More than 2 gens though and only 2 survivors left(yourself being one of them) the odds are so stacked against you already.

Tonight has been awful so far. I've played eight matches, no more than two gens completed in any match. Two matches I've had three slugged teammates at the start. One included all three teammates getting exposed by GF by the time I had completed 20% of one gen and none of them knowing how to run away apparently. I've been farmed off the hook in a deadzone by some stupid TTV, and luckily for me the killer knew how to count to 10, downed me and rehooked me straight away.

I'm genuinely convinced that I will not win a single match today based on matchmaking. I'm sticking it out and working my ass off but it doesn't seem to matter.

This should be a parody but this is what solo queue is actually like:

    https://youtu.be/pdv-32ktiI8?si=hZZmAGJ6rHQQ8aqX

I bet they managed to gather all this footage in one gaming session.

Yeah that about sums up solo’s mixed bag when it’s not hitting.

  • I wouldn't, I'd introduce perks to counter the playstyles or builds that promote them and keep down the variety train instead of trying to make things as boring and bland as possible. I'd introduce new mechanics and perks that people want to play with more than the old ones. Add to instead of take away. For instance, introduce a killer like a vampire that at base kit causes fatigue to survivors that slow down their gen speeds or whatever, give survivors a crappy new perk that takes off the new de-buff/infliction. Make perks that negate a deep wound or something. make perks that cause survivors to idk do anything other than gens. up totem spawns and then make a killer perk called addiction that forces a survivor to cleanse a totem at a slowed speed or they lose a health state within x amount of time to keep them off gens. Idk just stop with the skill check simulator on survivor and making that longer on a gen bc it's tired.

  • "Seems the moral is that Distortion users and lone wolves are not always in the same group. Sure they may overlap at times, but you really can't control anything that happens in solo queue. As long as objectives are getting done, I don't care what other survivors run. Of course we also get some randoms that just throw themselves immediately at certain killers because they want out the match, but that's alright huh"

When survivors play like that I just pray the killer shows me real mercy and let’s move on to my next match with better teammates. Solo is a mixed bag sometimes. I ain’t learning nothing just being sabotaged in a 3 v 2. Don’t even blame killers for what they do about it.

I see in this just another Perk bashing like against Selfcare user being selfish and hide the whole game. If I'm running a stealth build, i'm less prepared for chases but if I'm running a chase build, I'm better in chases than hiding. Killer wasting time in both cases. And I can still be chased or hide with every build and get extra time.

No one would flame you because you're playing stealthy as Ghostface. Ok maybe in 2 vs 8: Wow, you're noob killer! You're running only aura perks and I'm always in chase. 😄

No one want you to stay injured under the hook till the killer is coming back.

Just because you had some player with a specific perk doesn't mean that everyone with this perk acting like this.

If you're running self-care, you better be putting botany knowledge with it, or we're going to fight. Might as well equip pharmacy instead it's faster from a med kit plus the time to search chest vs self-care alone. Literally almost any of the healing perks are better than SC, it's just the most reliable at the cost of throwing the match by the time you or a teammate heals. I'm judging you. I wish they would nerf SC more so people stop using it bc it's garbage.

Lone wolf is a playstyle problem that needs to be nerfed.

And if nerfing lone wolf perks isn't enough, then BHVR could also rework the survivor win condition to be more team based. Solo q needs for the survivors to feel like a team. That should be the #1 priority.

And imho as a survivor main that’s done swf sweat, duo, and solo the best thing for solos that can’t run for the team is to equip distortion and get on a gen, and let the team help them where they lack. Anything that requires a team is always going to have issues when there’s a random(s) be it you or them. No offense but you can be the best runner in dbd but if nobody is doing gens then you’re not getting very far. Nerfing distortion won’t fix that, it’s a player issue. My point is no matter what perk the person not helping is running, they’re not helping. I’m pipping they’re not, and more often get put with players that help in some way vs don’t bc shockingly you have to do things to pip and can’t just stand in a corner with a thumb up your bum.

I don't know what more they can add for solo that would help. The HUD basically gives you all the information you need. There's also always bond, empathy, and alert that give you a ton of information that you otherwise wouldn't get that you can use to help your team out ie not sandbagging, healing injured survs, and they work with altruism or stealth builds. Nerfing lone wolf perks is just shooting solo in the foot further. If they don't want to run information perks or perks that counter information perks playing solo that's on them. When I play solo if I see someone is being chased and one is on hook, and one is on a gen, the obvious thing for a solo would be an understood agreement amongst survivors in general the one with the least progressed gen go for a save. If you're not doing anything then get on a gen or go for the save. It even tells you if a survivor is recovering or not if they are downed. It tells you if someone is giving a heal be it on their self or a teammate. If people can't use common sense then idk what they can do for solo past the HUD (which believe it or not is a huge improvement for solos that play and don't stand in a corner being selfish) that wouldn't drastically imbalance the game in swf. Streamers when they play survivor could probably explain the HUD to viewers often so when new players watch content they learn what it means. DBD doesn't come with a handbook outside of the most basic tutorial for action mechanics. Have the FOG Whispers explain the small things. Tips and tricks for beginners.

I think many people have been complaining to BHVR to help close the gap between solo q and SWF.

Part of this bridging process involved survivor buffs like the Survivor HUD. It makes sense that some of the bridging process could involve nerfs to problematic survivor behavior. Do people really expect the bridging process to be 100% survivor buffs, or 100% killer nerfs? Really?

People are so quick to demand nerfs for killer strategies.... but when the topic is survivor strategies it's "oh no, we shouldn't do that"?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3645557#Comment_3645557

Opinions don't need to last forever. BHVR can change their minds, and say "hey, we told everyone the gap between solo q and SWF is mostly solo q not working together as much, so we're going to throws some nerfs to lone wolf, to help out solo q"

Solo q would be better off if lone wolf was nerfed. Survivors should feel like a team, and it's really difficult to feel like a team, when one of the survivors has decided (even before the game has started) that they don't want to be a team player.

Lone wolf isn’t a perk problem though it’s a playstyle problem. As others pointed out, no matter what build or perks someone is running that survivor is still going to be behind a rock or in the corner or in a locker no matter what. Yeah distortion recharges, if you’re in the killers terror radius, which means in some way the player with tokens is engaging. If they’re not guess what, they get 3 aura hides. That’s how it works. Eventually that non contributing survivor is no longer being aura blocked. Nerfing distortion would only help killers, period. It changes nothing for survivor, bc at best if two people(and I never see more than 2 people running it) are running it and no where near the killer at any given time bc the killer is tunneling and not checking gens, that’s three hooks, nobody is dead(unless those three hooks went to one single person, which 2/3 of the matches do go that way anyways, and by no means is distortion even that popular) and now you can see everyone’s aura. Just say y’all want to be spoon fed and have survivors sit in one spot and not do anything. The person keeping up their tokens I want on the team, if ya’ll want to help soloQ go after the person who’s aura is now up after 3 hooks, bc they certainly weren’t engaging OR you couldn’t be bothered to leave the hook to check common survivor locations such as GENS(ya know bc gotta get back fast before they have a chance to heal and reset OR move to a location where you’d have to look for them). If a killer is out looking for survivors, and they’re not on gens what is the big deal, I’ve heard so many times that a person not on a gen is a person you’re not worried about, so odds are distortion nerf, killers are not going after them anyways. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve soloQ to end up being the person on gens while nobody else is in chase or it’s down to two and the killer can see I’m still trying to do objective and still chooses to kill me over the person hiding around the map not doing anything waiting on one of us to die(and I get it, looking for survivors is boring and I’ll probably single handedly finish those 2-3 gens by myself before you find them LOL, that’s satire). You don’t actually care about solo, just upset there’s a counter to your aura build. I wish distortion was more popular bc it’s a lot more helpful than the crappy exhaustion perks, decisive, if everyone hid their aura the killer would have no choice but to go out and look for others vs all the tunneling that happens no matter how the match is going in large majority. My distortion tokens don’t mean jack against a killer checking gens. If more survivors used distortion we might be in a better spot. Solo should run distortion bc if they’re not on comm then they need more protection vs where when I’m in duo I can be like take a hit, finish my gen it’s almost done but I’m in chase, ect. Distortion HELPS Solo mostly. If they can’t run I honestly don’t want them being found for a bit they’re more beneficial on a gen, or still being able to help save. If they’re crap at running you’re not going to have an issue at the end as killer getting them, and if they get hatch and did nothing they’re not pipping and I’m unconcerned as a survivor. It happens, it sucks, but that’s the game. There’s always going to be matches where you get out but someone else deserved to survivor more, or you die but someone else got out that deserved to die bc they’re a terrible team player and selfish. Killers will ALMOST always take the OPPORTUNITY to capitalize off selfish survivors screwing their team. Stealth is viable it’s just uncommon. There’s maybe 2/20 matches where killers will empathize with the person being sandbagged, or body blocked by their own teammate, or the survivor IN CHASE runs up and rips you off the hook even though there’s others who can come get you, to give killer an option me or them.

TLDR, no leave distortion alone it’s fine.

  • @anarchy753 said:

Is the balance perfect? No. Does it need to be? No. It's a silly game mode for a week, not some hyper polished competitive mode. I've had some decent killer games, they were fun. I've had a few survivor games, all of which I've escaped as a solo player, they were fun.

I like the experience of sitting on a gen actually being scary again. I like the atmosphere, as well as a test of map knowledge without being able to see.

In a week, it goes away. Maybe just enjoy something more casual for a bit instead of nitpicking every single thing that could be better and having a cry that they tried something new.

Yeah instead focusing on aura perks killers will just run multiple slowdown perks instead. Here a question as a survivor what would you rather have? A killer who run 4 slowdowns or a killer who has maybe one or two slowdown, and a aura perk or two?

I don't like the would you rather game, it's a bland retort with no sustenance. It's really as simple as will this build help me this match or not. No two matches are identical, bc variety of perks, addons, and playstyles and choices on both sides. I run calm spirit sometimes not as a F you to my teammates but bc I'll get back to back matches where I'm screaming a lot and it's annoying to repeatedly hear, so obviously counter perk. If I'm tired of no gens getting done bc killers are taking everyone out super quick and want to up my chances of getting out(bc it's not a guarantee) I put on distortion to have some layer of protection of my location so I can contribute to gens. Look at that though now I'm not running adrenaline, decisive, an exhaustion perk, or something else that killers also dislike. You can't have it all ways in a variety game. You'll have weak spots on both sides in some way no matter what. Dems da breaks, respectfully.

Thats just the same wrong conclusion like saying killer only camp because they need to in order to 4k, because that means the killer would only stop camping when he gets a 4k without it.

This is the same logic. The survivors you cant find are at fault that you camp or tunnel, because they dont give themself up easily.

The truth is, the killer is the only one who decides if he tunnels or camps. You could go out searching the survivors without your perk.

You could patrol those gens instead of proxycamping. You decide not to, but that is not on the survivors, its your decision.

Honestly, couldn't of said it better myself.

    4 survivors. 1 killer.

Okay, then option 2 boon blocker commence it is. Don't touch me boons.

Never really minded it, as Survivor. Still don’t mind it.

Although, it would be interesting if Survivors could set a trap around Boon Totems to surprise-stun Killers when they go to snuff ‘em out.

I was thinking about this the other day. That it feels like it takes 20 yrs to put up the boon and 2 seconds for killer to snuff it out, so it would be nice if there was something to either extend the duration to take it out, or protect it. Like the blocker for gens but for totems on both sides.

Yeah, I do know how you feel. As I said, I personally favour a stealthy playstyle.

I think the distinction to be made is that I'm talking about viability in terms of how each playstyle affects your chances of not getting killed before the gates open, whereas you're thinking of it in terms of how it affects the chances of the gates getting opened at all. In which case, I can see why you'd say that either approach can be equally effective.

I prefer stealth also. I’ve tried a lot of other play styles, it’s my favorite.

I can survive just as long if not longer than the best looper. Inside of a chase though I probably won’t last as long due to my load out and if the killer has theirs stacked on chase and has a brain. It basically cuts an even playing field in half for stealth. Where a killer with a stacked chase loadout vs a loop loadout would be more equal footing. However ,I’m least likely to end up in a chase.

where if it’s not stacked they have stealth stacked like me, then chases are on a much more equal footing I can give them a good go however still not as long as the stacked looper

both are equally beneficial. whether it be giving the team time by looping, or giving the team time by being open for gens, saves, totems, and saving them time from having to save me Bc I’m not getting hooked due to stealth.

Either way you can only carry a team so far with either play style. Sometimes the other shits don’t know what opportune saves or doing a gen/ gen commitment is.

like I can only do so many gens if 3 ppl are immediately saving each other to death.

you can only run a killer so long before you’ve created a mass amount of dead zones Where looping is just drastically harder and somehow 0 gens got done.

at least with stealth I can ensure the primary objective (Gens) is getting progressed. It sucks when you do all the work either way just to die. I’d rather be on a team with people that do gens and save before next phase no matter if they’re a runner or stealther than a team that just hangs around the hook doing back to back saves like “why isn’t anyone doing any gens”- 3 people at the hook just hanging out.

my real enemy is over altruists who don’t touch gens.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/934199#Comment_934199

I'm more interested in analysing game design as per the OP than I am in analysing the emblem system, which I think we can all agree is flawed. The only reason the emblem system came up at all was because I mentioned that I could see where Peanits was coming from with regards to the decision to reward stealth-based play less, because it's not actually the optimal strategy. I never even said I agreed with him, just that I understood his point.

I think where we differ is on how viable stealth is as a strategy. I know stealth isn't rewarded as highly as boldness or altruism, the point was that there might be a reason for that.

I'm not comparing bad stealth to great looping, I'm saying that no matter how good you are at stealth, the best killers will always find you anyway, and if stealth is all you're good at, you're screwed. Whereas you suck at stealth and you're only good at looping, you have a much higher chance of survival.

im half asleep not even going to lie, but I am enjoying our debate.

you can be the best stealther or looper but if others aren’t doing gens you’re going to die, either way. One isn’t more optimal than the other if you’re really good at staying alive it all boils down to the rest of the team. A stealther not getting caught and going back on the gen saves time for everyone else be it gen time of save time. A looper distracting the killer does the exact same thing. One isn’t greater than the other in my humble opinion.

so to me whether they stealth or loop isn’t the problem it’s what they do outside of it so I’m with you on that.

as far as game play goes some people like info builds to get the stealthers, while others enjoy chase builds as far killer goes. Unless ya know they mix. So a good killer to someone else might be a bad killer to me due to my, their, or your weaknesses/strengths being exposed to an opposition play style.

in my brain I know it just comes down to game knowledge gens/ and opportune save time.

whether or not they are trying to build the game on chases alone is another thing.

im just saying stealth matches are out there where it’s stealth vs stealth and that’s fun for some people.

I imagine if you’re playing a stealth team and have a load out for closing down chases or gens you’re not going to have a good time. But if you have info perks/addons it will be great. Load outs matter.

just because some people think the entire game revolves around 1 playstyle (cough chases cough)doesn’t mean everyone else does.

I can pip just fine stealthing, saving, doing gens , heals , totems, and juking if caught if they aren’t stacked on chase perks

my only complaint is I can do everything but get in a chase and still make less points than the guy that just chased and did a couple of saves. It’s mildly triggering. Umm like hello I just did all that and to be POG I have to do chases with almost an entire map of dead zones and 0 chase perks just to beat that one guy who did 2 things.

  • @Fibijean said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/934124#Comment_934124

Of course a mix of both is ideal, that goes without saying, but when it comes to stealth versus aggression I feel like you're not listening to what I'm actually saying. I never said that stealthy players are useless or anything close to that, in fact I said the complete opposite in the comment you initially replied to.

While it's true that being chased isn't the objective of the game, neither is doing generators. Escaping is the objective, and that can be achieved in a variety of ways. But stealthy players are more vulnerable to being caught in the open and killed (thus failing their objective) than players who are good in chases and therefore don't need to rely on not being seen to survive. Good killers will always find the survivors no matter how stealthy they are, so it makes sense that an aggressive playstyle is favoured over stealth in high-ranked play, not just by the players but by the design of the game itself.

Stealth is simply not as reliable a tactic as looping, because it is much more heavily reliant on one's opponent making mistakes. Once again, I am personally a fan of stealth. It's my preferred playstyle, and I wish it were more viable than it is. But the fact is that, because of the way the game is currently set up, stealth alone is just not as viable against good opponents as the alternative.

Yeah I mean if you suck in general at stealth and you’re the first found and can’t run at all sure , I highly doubt those people would make it to red ranks though forever stuck in green or yellow maybe due to luck. I personally think the most absolute trash stealth player not being efficient sucks, just as bad as altruists who hook farm before you can get through a single ruin gen, and look you’re all dead 4/5 gens up. both contribute 0 to the overall goal.

the difference is if you’re a trash stealth player and doing all the gens and go down quick you’re not awarded anywhere near as much as an altruist with bt who also goes down quick. That’s the difference in favoritism as neither really contributes Bc either way people are spending more time going for saves whether you’re the altruist immediately getting hooked after saving or first down gen jockey. The altruist or gen person if they both put the an equal amount of effort the altruist is awarded more

I am listening to you, but you’re using just bad stealth as an example compared to the best chaser.

the thing is though if you have 4 of the best stealth players who can do gens and power gates to get out without anyone getting caught you’re not rewarded anywhere near as much as 4 of the best runners who also do gens and get out. Both are viable, actual stealth isn’t rewarded enough Bc it’s much harder to pip, even though it’s hands down if we are talking BEST STEALTH 4 man much more optimal to the goal of survival.

you’ll get iri lightbringer and evader(which is how you get unbroken) at best. with not a lot of points.

where if you max out evader ,and light bringer through chasing over stealth you’ll get a significant amount of more points.

but if throw in saves on either play style shouldn’t be a problem. the overall problem isn’t stealth vs chaser but when either side doesn’t touch gens when they aren’t hiding or being chased. Or poor time management with saves either being too early or too late. I blame the over under altruism personally. Not the optimal stealthers or the runners as a play style if both are doing gens when they should be. That’s where we differ.

Well yeah, if your teammates are distracting the killer then obviously that frees you up to do generators, but it doesn't always work that way. If you're the first to get found, or if you go for an unhook and get chased, and you can't loop, you're going to die pretty quickly. That's why that kind of aggressive playstyle is valued at high ranks, because no matter how good you are at stealth, a good killer will find you eventually and then you're screwed.

I mean I guess if you think being chased is the primary objective WHICH ITS NOT. There’s also a big difference between stealth and being useless, id say say a bunch of people safe hook farming each other with bt and not touching gens is the equivalent to stealth players who don’t touch gens and catch never catch the unbroken emblem.

my point is over altruism(even though also completely useless) is rewarded higher than doing the primary objective and dying first hook.

so you can be the best at altruism and still get chaser And max out both and have an easier time pipping even though you did 0 to power exit gates, die and be highly awarded for it

while if you were on the opposite end of the scale and did all the gens, and stayed away from the killer (essentially unbroken) , and pip, but if you did all of that and get found and die on first hook Bc the whole team skips out and leaves you , you safety at best Bc unbroken was nullified and you maybe get a brown silver or gold in evader depending on how long you lasted in the chase, which by the time your found if you are good most of the pallets areas are barren.

So from one extreme to the other altruism is favored over stealth Bc how emblems work.

if you’re balanced between the two like Monto or pugs play style then you’re well rounded however most players are either one extreme or the other. You can see this if you integrate both play styles the huge disadvantage that both give.

I'm exactly the same way. Personally, I wish that stealth were a bit more of a viable option, both gameplay-wise and emblem-wise, than it currently is, because I like to think of stealth and aggression as the two main playstyles in DBD.

Considering how much harder and more unavoidable chases become at higher ranks, though, I can see Peanits' point that it's better for people who don't do well in chases to be deliberately kept lower.

Of course, one could argue that the game could just be rebalanced a bit such that choosing to avoid chases altogether is a more viable option at top ranks, but if every survivor is doing that it can get really boring and frustrating for the killer, so it starts to become a problem in that regard.

So as Peanits said, perhaps there's no definitive answer either way.

Keeping the stealth players in lower ranks is why you end up in red ranks with a bunch of loopers looking for action and hook rushing not doing gens.

id argue that aggressive play style is less efficient in quantity than stealth.

I can do about 3-4 gens solo while the other three run around “playing ring around the Rosie“ Bc they can’t seem to stay away from the killer long enough to not kill each other off before I can finish them by myself. Most people aren’t as good at looping as they THINK THEY ARE .

Bc if atleast even 1 of them also touched a gen we’d be done with the objective before you all killed each other off.

I thought this thread was going to be a rant on the infamous Doctor build. I will now be returning to the darkness of my pit. 😚

I see you, you demon. Guess what I’ve mastered the skill check arts, and your tiny doctor skill checks are no match for me.

  • Nah they won’t do it, Bc instead of buffs people cry for nerfs on each side. I said the same thing though Bc I like a lot of really cool stuff to use in a game. It’s why I was addicted to ark for so long. They had all kind of insane things you can do and use. this is a super Grindy game that gives no real gratification other than saying I’ve got all perks on x characters.

Isn't it the killer's job to choose chases wisely and apply pressure on generators? I agree gens are too fast with toolboxes but sometimes the killer is at fault for losing. If a killer can't end a chase in 60 seconds or less it should be avoided

Maybe in theory but lol Bc killers don’t take a lobby of 4 toolboxes

  • @EridianBlaze said:

I agree that DS needs to be changed. If another Survivor is downed before the 60 seconds is up, then DS should deactivate. The Perk is meant for anti-tunnelling. And if someone else goes down, then the DS user isn't being tunnelled.

As for BT, I don't personally mind it. I run PWYF a lot, so that just gives me an extra stack. I can just catch up to them and give em a nice slap on the butt and call it good.

And lastly, Iri Heads. They're fine. They have their upside, and they have their downside. Upside being that do 2 hits of damage instead of 1, and the downside being that the Huntress can only have 1 hatchet. Yeah, they can run the bag to let them carry +2 for a total of 3, but it's an Iri Rarity add-on, so it deserves to be powerful.

Before anyone says "Oh, but BNP and Iri Syringe are both Iri and...", here's the thing. There's only 1 Killer vs 4 Survivors. The 4 Survivors can run much more items/add-ons than the Killer. Higher quantity = lower quality per thing.

I don’t understand your logic because killer ir addons affect 4 people, and survivor addons COULD affect up to 4 ppl BUT THATS ONLY IF 4 people brought them in. Do you though.

  • I think you might just be unlucky right now Bc the killer tome challenge to kill the obsession 4 or 5 times

  • @PistolTimb said:

I really, really love being d-striked after hooking another survivor. "Just don't tunnel 5head." God mode for 60 seconds would be unreasonable in any other game.

But of course we can't touch this perk. Could you imagine the ######### storm such a nerf would cause? DS is arguably stronger than it has ever been before. The impact it can have on a match and the survival of all survivors in it are undeniable.

Idk I’m a survivor main, and I’m saying it needs some restrictions Bc the way it can be abused. Ive been in a few matches where I can tell the DS completely f’d over what I’d call a fair play killer. And I’ve been ds’d after I hooked someone and walked all the way across the map to the aura on the gen, and it was just really unlucky it was them and their DS wasn’t up yet. I see both sides of it. I think it’s needed to stop lazy killer playstyles from capitalizing, but not punishing when you’re actually trying to go out kick gens, and look for other people that you haven’t just hooked. It’s too lax as a perk the way it is now imho.

  • Do you want to know why survivors run DS bt Unbreakable?

  • 60 and finishing up the last of tome 3 killer challenges.

Maybe you stared at your power too much when you went fatigue? S

But, if you don't stare at your power, you're going to waste your 99% recharged power for just 1 blink

Basekit nerf is such a bad design..

Dude first match not even trying to kill just using power to learn on GIDEONS.

so like you’d be point to middle and it would port you down a floor and I’m just trying to go straight across.

you use her like throttles when shifting but like dude it’s not smooth at all when learning. It’s like when you are grinding out gears on a dirt bike, four wheeler, or manual car. She stalls out a lot, and all the stalling out motion is what got me. It wasn’t even the I wasn’t trying to blink there, but the stalls between shifting between the two blinks you get. That made my stomach like #########.

so how do I put this? Umm it’s the transition from blink one to blink 2.

No, you defending a sweaty SWF all running meta perks kind of points it out.

I’m not defending them, just pointing out his playstyle had a huge effect on how the match went. Not tunneling and slugging and just bbq hook would of been much more enjoyable and they would of laughed at the end game screen like I do. I might get hit by unlucky DS maybe twice a match. But I wouldn’t get hit with borrowed or unbreakable

    Think about it this way:

The Nurse is the most powerful killer in the game. She has the highest skill cap. As a survivor, you should be thankful she's hard to learn and somewhat uncomfortable for some, cause it would be miserable with a bunch of god tier Nurses around, lol

I’ve met the god tier nurses, and I don’t think she should be easy to learn or play. I know she’s S tier. She shouldn’t however be regurgitating to learn. I’ve been playing this game for 2 years dude, and let me tell you putting beginner nurses through that is not good, and extremely off putting. I don’t mind a challenge, I do mind feeling like trying to get down mechanics shouldn’t make my stomach feel weird.

There’s a lot of characters that take skill to use and they don’t make you feel like that. Old base kit didn’t make you feel like that.

I DONT have a weak stomach , and she made feel like that.

  • @The_Second_Coming said:

I mean, obviously Nurse isn't for you then. Good thing she was free, lol

Also - Nurse has never, and will never be noob friendly. She's the hardest killer to learn, with the highest reward when you do.

im not a killer main, I’m just giving feedback on what it feels like to play her from a fresh perspective from someone who never really touched her before, and is trying to learn her without perks or addons. I have them for her, but what would be the point if you’re a baby nurse and trying to just get a feel for her mechanics? The base mechanics feels stomach turning, like I said. I like this character, she’s an OG. I played her a couple of times before the rework when I first got the game , and she didn’t make me feel like this. So I think I’m going to have to agree with the killer mains on this one the new base kit sucks, but only because it makes you feel like you ate a bunch of food and then spun around in circles. Or like smelled something really bad that makes you feel sick inside.

That's not what I want. I want survivors to have to make a choice, instead of having an optimal strategy that works 100% of the time.

If YOU want the doors open as soon as the last gen pops then go open it yourself. They made it where you can do it ya know. You CAN , I’ve done it. If you don’t understand any of my points, then that sounds like a personal problem to me. What I wrote is legible.

if the last survivor is up the killer will usually go back and forth by the doors until the last survivor dies to egc, which is fair I guess. I don’t like the idea of being put on a timer to get a door open when the killer can essentially do the same thing, or noed is active. Sure it’s easier with more survivors, but I mean how many ways do you want a killer to capitalize off sitting in a single spot almost?

the survivors have won at that point, why make it even harder than it is now to get out , when the kill rate is already so high?

I don’t know what rank are you on, but I assure you that at high ranks this is far from true.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/913630#Comment_913630

Can you tell us a couple of those ^^?

You can lose out on potential kills by cutting the match shorter

killer can guard the doors until egc counts out

    noed

I think in the end it will be about the same results for both sides as it is now, so why change the coding for it? Just seems like unnecessary work, where their efforts could be put to better use.

Was curious how much matchmaking skewed that data. So many games have ppl bringing in their rank 20 buddys against a red rank killer...

We can go back to where when we play with our friends that we got to buy the game, to play against a low rank killer if you like.

1 … 26 27 28 29 30 … 60
