it’s balanced around high mmr 4mans(which it should be) just as it should be balanced around high mmr killers(which it is) and if they look at blight and he’s not doing more than 52% ish and nerf him, that means survivors will probably get a nerf too. So I’m going with no, unless you want a hit to probably healing, repair, or “second chance” perks. As those are mostly the gripes on killer side atm. I don’t have the data on blights performance overall at that level, but I imagine that’s what will happen.

The game use to have alot more of this. Applauded!
It’s just a video game. There’s no trophy for being the best, just sweat. If I die bc I gave some breaks I circle back to the first two sentences. It’s just a video game, and there’s no trophy for being the best.

BT & Anti Camp are some of the best changes they ever made.
I will never understand the fascination with spawn camping in this game. Granted only a few killers can even do it nowadays but it actual people who thought dying immediately off hook was acceptable gameplay. Having a power tripping chainsaw wielding teletubby stand at your spawn isn't a feature that other games are missing out on.
have you considered easing up a bit? Like if you notice that the killer isn’t doing so hot and you’re dusting them with your team , maybe take a lap. Touch some totems, open some chests, smell the roses, look at the weird raccoon in the corner. Idk. If it’s pretty clear my team is lapping and I play solo in solo q, I’ll give some breaks to let them get some hooks in, nobody likes getting completely stomped and if you know you’re not going to lose, ease up.. That’s just me though.
-
Just spitballing but increase bleed out to a ridiculous time, and then put it to where if everyone is down for x amount of time like 5 minutes or something everyone gets up. They’ll have to hook then or just have the worlds longest games and you’ll have ridiculous times for matches that kind of proves intentional griefing and just ban them.

yeah you're just commenting to appear smart lil bro, don't you understand human language or what? this is a known issue yet you're teaching me what the incentive is when I've clearly stated what's going on with the queues lol
I literally said ,,it can show 50% on survivor but the queue is longer on survivor than on killer, on killer with 0% it's instant.'' to avoid comments like yours that would teach me what it is, yet reading is hard for those as smart as you
That’s just a really rude way for you to say things to another person. I’d watch out they’ll ban you on here for bullying like that. There’s nicer ways to say things, and he wasn’t even being rude or mean to you. Just straightforward.

Hits vape. 87 hits and 4 man swf still only rocking a 48% escape rate on average. I’d say balance for the top is basically achieved.

I don't see a problem with Lithe+Balanced, because you don't always get a map with a height to fall from. It's really only Sprint Burst that doesn't pair well with other exhaustion perks.
you say that but play on rpd, haddon, or Hawkins off the top of my head and suddenly you’re slow vaulting at great heights if you want BL, and suddenly your eyes, they open to the downsides. I don’t think it’s the worst, but it’s okay at best as a combo. If you like it though, I like it for you honestly. you’re the one playing with it, not me. I think there’s better combinations like others have suggested.

With Bloodrush you have kinda an activation button. But as base Dramaturgy is the SB with an activation button. The normal SB with that would be the strongest perk in the game by far.
Im havent really played with SB in the last two years but walking is just the beginner tactic. Good players 99 it and even use it just go quicker to the next gen. Its kinda hard to use efficiently thats why i prefer other perks.
yeah I was thinking about that, there’s some stuff you can do with some of these suggestions with exhaustion(SB included). You really think an activation button alone would make SB that strong? Maybe it would especially with combinations. I can see where your head is at. I’m not asking for a change though, it was just a thought. As it is I think it’s the weakest of exhaustion perks, but it’s debatable if it is.
Same as you for me, I don’t really use exhaustion perks anymore, like when they drop I’ll try them out. Personally I’d rather use other things. Ehhh I think there’s advantages to walking but in the grand scheme of things there’s more advantages to being able to run at normal speed whenever you want to. Being mindful and walking to sit on it sucks, in my opinion. I don’t really use it though and people that do may feel differently. I can tell you that’s why I don’t though. I think drama is solid for sure if you do a build. -

The priority the devs set for bots is going to upset a very real HUMAN player no matter which side. Just as it might not feel fair to a killer if a survivor is rescued and escapes during endgame, it doesn't feel fair as survivor watching a bot escape while you (a very real HUMAN) are now losing out on BP (more than a killer gets from a single kill) and guaranteed to die (if someone is saved during endgame a killer still has a chance of getting the kill). YOU may be OK with it because YOU are going to rationalize the whole background of AI learning and give devs a pass in what they choose to tweak or not tweak. The average player is going to get upset with the devs because if they (the very real HUMAN player) loses after a bot escaped or helped someone else escape it is because that is how the devs have programmed the bot to behave.
As for the "normal/average survivor behavior" - in 2v8, where they will be using 2 bots, it is extremely common in solo queue for people to be making end game saves because of the way the cages work and there being 3 doors. Bots will literally run by, ignoring a cage next to a door, to open the door and immediately run out. A very real human player will usually stop to uncage someone, maybe even give them a quick heal. The bots ignoring people in cages, especially those right next to them, once the last gen finishes has and will continue to frustrate the very real HUMAN players on the side that actually needs players so bad that they are adding bot fills. The very real players will be frustrated with the devs who have programmed the bots behavior and decided to use bot fills, that frustration will carry over into next match because every bot in a lobby will be programmed to do the same thing. The only way to not have bot filled lobbies is get a team of 8 (which isn't realistic) because the devs aren't doing anything to encourage more people to play the survivor role. If it was a real person that left someone in a cage to instead open a door and run out it would be frustration with that one person and you'd move on hoping you wouldn't get matched with them again because as a very real human you know that other very real humans all play differently.
As for AI machine learning, yes I know how it works. It genuinely does not matter in this scenario where people will get upset with devs over how a bot behaves. You can keep explaining how AI learning and programming works but it does not matter when in the end the devs gave their stamp of approval when it comes to the current state of bots behavior in public matches - the devs are who the players will be mad at when they get frustrated with bots.
I hope you read that over and over again and listen to yourself. It's still a no from me, and I'll be in those survivor trenches with the bots. Agree to disagree.

So true, I read it somewhere in a handbook. If you blink I can't flashlight you, and I want your nurse eyes wide open like doctor ya hear. So you best listen and not put add-ons on nurse, don't make me grab my friends.

Not bad, I see where you are going with that and the thought behind it. Sprint Burst not my favorite by any means, but if you like it, then I like it for you. I still think Sprint Burst needs an activation button bc I don't like walking everywhere. That's personal preference though. If you're a walker though Sprint Burst it up.

It was a rhetorical question in an example based off what crogers271 was saying.
When it comes to feelings in the moment of gameplay people are going to be mad at the devs for bot behaviors since the devs can go in and tweak the AI behavior. BHVR did it when it comes to missed skill checks - when bots first came out the devs set the skill check miss to a % that basically made bots nonstop miss, they adjusted the % and while they still miss often in comparison it's not as bad as when they first came out.
The devs have the ability to change the priority of the bots when someone is on hook in end game. If bots were learning what people do in game they'd be sitting in the exit gate waiting for the killer to come over and chase them out, not run straight out the moment an exit opens with the killer no where near. The devs designed the code so when gens are finished the bots prioritize opening the gate and immediately leave so killers don't have to put up with bots hanging out in the exit until they chase them out, the priority to leave also removes end game saves so if a killer is practicing with bots in customs they don't feel crappy from bots going for end game unhooks that result in an escape. Unfortunately the leave priority the devs have set also causes them to leave real survivors to die on hook.

Yeah I'm sure they can make the bots come back for people on the hook at endgame. I don't know if they should though. That's a lot of if/then/priority statements that can turn into a buggy mess really quick or you end up in situations where now you have bots ripping people off hooks mid game with the killer right behind them. There's a lot of things to consider not to mention that there's a very real HUMAN player also on the other team trying to get kills. Should the devs program the bots to function like a swf bot? BC most survivors read the room and if the room doesn't look safe they just leave unless you're swf. Like if they gave survivors this where would it stop bodyblocks, flashlight saves? It's not that I don't think they can, it's that I don't think they should. If survivors in a normal match don't usually go back for each other bc normally the killer is hanging out by the person on the hook why should they go through all the effort to give the advantage to survivor? it's not normal/average survivor behavior. Not to mention that the bot saving could very much play out to be escaping with you, and now the person playing killer also is losing another kill and out bp. I'm just saying, I know it sucks to watch the bot run out, but maybe it's for the best. Idk would that feel fair to you? Personally it doesn't bother me because it's a bot with brakes on it, and I get that. I'm not going to go back and forth about whether it's self learning to a degree or not I've read the bot fixes and laughed uncontrollably. Though to see where they started and what they are doing with them now is assuring to me at least that they are cooking, let them cook. Pretty sure they are still teaching them how to use perks atm and interact with killer powers training AI takes a while. It's not some thing that happens in like 2 hrs. You know those images that say "are you a human" or "making sure you're not a robot" that's companies getting you to train their AI for them to recognize images. Idk if you know that and that's just like basic Machine Learning AI, it's what helped build pattern recognition for unlocking your phone with your face.

But would you apply that same logic to old flashlights, toolboxes, sabo hatch ect. Or do they not count as variety?
I think you can do some pretty advantageous things with items and their add-ons especially with combined perks, and if you don’t think so then I suggest research.
-
I think add-ons are fine. They need tuning here and there like everything else in the game, but I think they add varieties(and fun) to killer playstyles so you have options to play with, which is never a bad thing. By far my favorite games are always ones where I have more customization over my characters be it their look or what they can do, and the best games have both.
-
@angel_pellegrino said:
And let me explain why. I've never had a bot refuse to do gens, creep around the map and hide in lockers all game, wait for me to die so they could get the hatch, sandbag me so that I get hit and not them, become besties with the killer or send me a salty message after a game. In fact, I can think of multiple games where the addition of bots would have made the game more enjoyable to play. The truth is that in soloq, especially for newer and casual gamers, a bot is often a far more reliable teammate who can keep the killer occupied longer in a chase.
I can't help but think that some of the people who hate bot teammates the most are higher MMR, and are used to the strongest survivors bringing the strongest builds with the strongest add ons. So their experience is completely different than someone still struggling through low MMR hades. When you've had multiple games of soloq teammates playing like they just started the game five minutes ago on dial up internet on a toaster, the idea of playing with bots isn't all that upsetting.
Thanks, Behavior. With bots actually doing gens, unhooking before I go on death hook and taking chases longer than two seconds, the game might actually get a bit more enjoyable for me.
I’m so glad you like the bots too. I’m also grateful for them. I’m not new by any means, but I absolutely would fall under casual. It’s a lot better than before we had bots that’s for sure. Are they perfect? No. It’s so much better than it was before.
Also I have a sneaking suspicion they’re self learning to a degree so when you have the chances to go back for the bots try to because I think it will make them better teammates. IE they pick up good habits and bad habits. I am very curious if I’m right, because I try to train the bots with good habits when they are in my matches(because I’ve genuinely been playing this game so long that I think the newcomer experience is the best and worst part of it, and think the bots benefit them the most) and wonder if that’s all for not and it’s strictly just machine learning.
Anyways if I was BHVR I would discretely put in bots in higher mmr(as in they come into the match with everyone else, evil choice?maybe, but utilitarianism and what not) to subject them to higher learned patterns(probably 3 man teams for tactics or with duos for the ability to go back and save each other in times that other people wouldn’t risk their self for like endgame) I think it will keep them from just getting subjected to lower ended learned patterns in solo q and improve them if they are self learning. Making it a little more controlled for variables. I’m just thinking out loud, and ultimately know nothing and it could all be machine learned ai, of course 😅 -
oh and lithe will take the use over BL if you pair those two if the drop requires a vault because it registered as a vault first so BL won’t go off. Meaning you burned up lithe for nothing while dropping and now you’re exhausted without any of the benefits. So careful, because they don’t work together as well as one would hope in practice. It’s been a while since I’ve done it but if remember correctly that’s exactly what was happening to me testing when drops had vaults like upstairs windows for example. I would probably combo BL + overcome or lithe + overcome for better results as far as not screwing you over in that respect, and yes vigil on top. I’d never pair overcome with DH. Anyways a lot of maps with drops have vaults required to drop soooo lithe + BL probably not the best combo.

Left on hook/cage during end game by human: they must've had a challenge to escape or maybe have had a few rounds where they haven't escape, sucks but that's fine.
Left on hook/cage during end game by bot: why are they devs programming bots to be selfish and save themselves instead of helping the real players???
because it’s probably built to a degree off a self learning model meaning its reactions are built off its time with player interactions. In short if most people didn’t leave the bots in that scenario the bot wouldn’t leave you, but bc the bot in its game got mostly left behind it will mostly leave you. That’s how that works. I’m not being funny but it’s how self learning works. A bot reaction of the own players making….
-
you’re fit for any situation given that your exhaustion isn’t up. You’re still stacking in one category and only able to use it one in a chase once. Sooo like it’s okay, I’ve tried it once or twice for giggles but nothing I personally would run due to preference and preferring variety. You gotta think once you use one you’re essentially perkless until exhaustion is gone.

Killers are not responsible for survivor player's fun.
Do survivor players ever think:
- I won't predrop pallets this game
- I won't run to main building this game
- I won't abuse the near infinite in Garden of Joy
- I won't abuse bugged flashbangs this game
- I won't try to flashlight save
- I won't sabo hooks this game
- I won't bring a cracked toolbox with BNP this game
- I won't bring insta-heals this game
All in the name of "its not fun for the killer"? No, they don't, and I don't think they should either. But the point is that expecting killer players to care, when survivor players don't care either is ridiculous.
yeah all the time actually I play without those things, bc I do consider the other side. I literally never use or do any of those things. Sooooo this is awkward…

I would die if we got something like this.
yeah Jorogumo is in a lot of games. Nioh has a Jorogumo boss fight. It’s a really popular yokia(mythical creature/demon) from Japanese culture. Final fantasy’s take looks super cool. This is what she looks like in Nioh, but honestly I would love to see what BHVR would come up with putting their own spin on it.
obviously she’s scaled up in both the games we played, but I think they could scale her size down and add some interesting power(s) to her. Could use a weapon or make her spider legs a weapon. Spider related thing for power.
Japan has a lot of cool looking yokia from their mythos/folklore that a number of them would be a good fit if they’re just looking for free ideas. There’s a half woman half snake. Year of the snake hint hint, constriction could be a cool attack like they wrap their self around you bite and push you away, or drag you down if you’re going into dying on the ground constricting you. Some new unique animations for that type of killer. Probably would have to rent a snake for body model for animations though, could be fun. Power around poison or something, could possibly lead to a new status effect that mimics what happens to you with plague branded as “poisoned”I’m honestly just spitballing over here what I think can be cool and add some newness or uniqueness within the killer variety. They can make these originals bc the mythos aren’t tied to anything licensed that I know of just a lot of developers with their own takes for their games. If they need any help with animal movement they could probably just reach out to Team Ninja for guidance or consultation since they heavily incorporate that into their game enemies for their Nioh franchise on large and small scales. They’re a B tier company. I imagine they’re polite. Cyber people usually try to help other cyber people. At least the cyber people I know do. Maybe I’m a wishful thinker and assume the best.

it is indeed more fair, but I’d rather have less time waiting to play than actually playing. Allowing crossplay helps a lot I’m sure with match finding. Because it isn't possible for BHVR to tell if someone is actually using a VPN, or if they just have bad internet. By definition and design that is how VPNs work.
yep and survivors get put in regions with their friends their not from all the time and killers have to deal with it.

Are you okay? Did a killer have their profile locked or something so you came here to the forum instead?
-
Classic finger on the monkey paw situation. My condolences welcome to survivor where killers kill you, and survivors also kill you indirectly. Here is your returning survivor member charm, it doesn't do anything to progress your overall goal, but it looks neat right?
Seriously though, yeah there is a huge chunk of survivors that absolutely refuse to touch gens, like ever. It's not about escaping, it's about shenanigans for them. Can be very frustrating moving through that kind of group if you're not into that.
-
Well it all started with an over-powered hook sabo meta and never went away once the meta was nerfed tbh. Upon figuring out they didn't have to deal with the hook sabos by slugging, they also don't have to deal with a bunch of hook perks. if you're good enough to get teams down you control the entire match and force a pick-up snowball game. It's smart, they evolved. "I don't have to deal with any of that". they can keep their aggressive playstyles without having to deal with aggressive playstyles that really only full squads can recover from or people that just so happened to get put together that have played in squads before and don't need someone to tell them do this so we can recover. Thus in short it's easier, less stressful for them, and yeah they "don't have to deal with any of that" a very very large majority of the time because the majority can't handle it.
Sooo anyone else not playing super competitive or not prepared to deal with that suffer on both sides because there's no chill on either side with those play styles at the highest level. other people see them do well with this playstyle, then the majority thinks "I can do that", it boosts them until they meet players with fundamentals on both sides that they lack and don't know what to do when the ball isn't in their court. Because you don't really know what to do when they aren't falling for your snowball slug scheme because you never practiced defensive skills to slow down the game and regain control, and you don't know what to do when they know how counter your second chance perks because you didn't learn tiles. Then they will come on this forum and complain about each other, and the average and below player will complain about them. All the while not realizing your the average and below player and they are exceptional but hate each others tactics. So ultimately when you're favorite stuff gets nerfed because it is overpowered when you go against anyone else that's not on the highest level facing off against each other, that's why. It's nerfed due to higher levels picking on the weaker side. It's a tale as old as time really.

(And to the mods, no I am not encouraging DCing, I am addressing an accessibility issue with The Doctor.)
idk if I’m autistic or just have sensitive ears but I genuinely loathe the screaming in successions. I’ll bring calm spirit if I notice too much screaming bc I just can’t, not to counter but just for the peace. You’re telling survivors can’t say go there or come here but can scream like that?!?! I hope the person who thought up screaming for location detection drops their ice cream scoop on the hottest day of the year.

If you repeatedly enter a locker or repeatedly slide over a pallet, the notification sound becomes very loud!
I often use "Iron Maiden" when using Huntress, but when survivors abuse this, it is very noisy because of the repeated screams!
If you are noisy during the chase, it will be difficult to hear the noise of the person you are chasing, which will affect the match!
To protect the ears and minds of the players who operate the killer, we need to take measures to prevent further abuse of the system!
how I feel going against doctor with a trigger finger and the will to not leave me alone long enough to snap out of it.

yeah i miss the darker atmosphere too. Or when when it looked like a gaggle of smokers hot boxed the map. Good times. If I wanted sunshine BHVR I would go outside instead of play your game.

I would rather say she is difficult to implement into the gamemode: She is a setup killer that needs time to setup her traps and then harass survivors with them. However, in this gamemode you don't have the time due to the lack of gen defense and the fact that this gamemode is rather fast and quick than slow. You wouldn't be able to setup enough traps since eight survivors can permanently trigger your traps or two of them could harass you while setting them up. Lastly, Hag is a really difficult killer because you don't play her like a chase killer- you are a setup killer who also defends an area. Sure the developers could make her a 4.6 killer but her traps would still suck and clumsy to use in this gamemode.
wait wait I think we should let it happen. I’m imagining all the scenarios right now, and I think it could work if they don’t succumb to notification overload, and can focus through it. Also all the survivor whoopsies that well turn things in her favor. It could be interesting to see, painful to suffer through but ultimately hilarious to watch unfold.

boring? No. Her kit however would be absolutely bananas with that many survivor feet setting off her traps probably causing feedback overload. Just a thought. Certainly not boring. That’s a lot of notifications though.

Yeah I agree like I don't think most people understand trap placement at all and they often times place traps like they're playing Trapper but outside of being the same killer archetype they're very different. The most common one I see is in front of pallets. Place a bear trap in front of the pallet and you deny the loop, place a mud trap in front of a pallet and you're probably asking to get hit in the face with the pallet lmao.
The other one I see is in the middle of intersections and I think this is the real reason people say Hag is weak because this is the one where yes it's likely to trigger but it's also extremely easy to do the camera trick on these types of traps so they won't result in hits if survivors are good most of the time and know they're there. People need to start placing traps in cramped areas and around corners where camera manipulation is either harder or impossible to do because take the camera trick away and the counterplay is crouching around the map and wiping the traps and most people have no patience for that and you just get easy hits constantly.
I don't think Hag is A tier or anything but I'm in agreement with gummypeachrings (10k hours hag main) she's solidly mid B tier and her bad reputation comes from people just completely misunderstanding her kit and how her weaknesses can be mitigated.
Honestly yeah exactly, very well said and completely agree. She’s solid B for sure in the right dedicated hands. So very true about mitigating her weaknesses, and I can always tell when someone sinks time into her to understand all those parts, and when they don’t.
I think there’s a few things they can do to make her a little stronger without shooting her straight to S+ tier for example:Reduce her teleportation time just a tiny bit, not much. A little bit will go a long way for people trying to pick her up.
Movement speed it needs a buff, again not much just a little bit.
Negative status effect for wiping the traps, could incorporate it into an add on or make it base kit, just something that makes the threat a little more real with them. I mean honestly what’s a status effect when you can lose a whole health state for popping a trap. Survivors can’t be bothered most of the time because some of her kit is a little gimmicky in places. Her lunges and trap placement has to be perfect or you’re right, you’re not getting that hit and survivors are breaking her ankles.
These are just some minor things off the top of my head that wouldn’t require much work but would go a long way in terms of making her feel less underwhelming to people playing her especially people that haven’t sunk a bunch of time and resources into her or understanding every thing about her. Yeah there’s loads of bad hag players out there, there’s loads of bad survivors that lose to bad hags(I’ve watched it happen so many times), and then there’s hags with higher IQ that genuinely make me glad she’s harder to figure out and more people haven’t quite caught on. She’s a deceptive one for sure, not as low as most people would like to rate her. Low key she’s one wrong buff away from being a super villain and always has been, and on the other hand one wrong nerf away from being the laughing stock people think she is at face value. There’s some middle room though they can work with to make her feel better to others.
