Since Pyramid head already got some love, i'll do Xenomorph. This is a first try, please feel free to correct me if i overdid some things.
Brown:
Cereal rations:
The Xenomorph can see the auras of flame turrets while travelling trough the tunnels. Exiting the tunnels will destroys every turrets in a radius of 6 meters from the control station.
Drinking birdie:
Exiting a control stations grants you the haste status effect (5%) for 10s.
Improvised cattle prod:
The Xenomorph cannot enter the crawler mode but is granted the undetectable status effect. Exiting a control stations is completly silent. Flame turrets are limited to 8 per matches.
Ripley's watch:
Noises produced by exiting a control stations are reduced by 75%, exiting a control station is 0.25s faster.
Yellow:
Ash's Innard:
Turrets take 30s longer to respawn in control stations.
Brett's cap:
Destroying a turret with a tail strike reveals the aura of the survivor that placed it for 6 seconds.
Crew headset:
Increase the footprints detection radius by 8 meters, detecting footprints will automatically highlight the path to the closest control station.
Lambert stars map:
When the Xenomorph enters the tunnels, every turrets stops beeping for 10s.
Lightwand:
Increase the speed of the Xenomorph in the tunnels by 2 meters.
Green:
Emergency helmet:
Every 20 to 40s, turrets will start beeping randomly for 3 to 6s. Each turrets has it's own countdown.
Kane's helmet:
The Xenomorph does not passively recharges crawler mode outside of the tunnels. In his bipedal stance, the Xenomorph breaks and vaults 30% faster.
Moulted skin:
At the start of the trial, control stations are empty. The first turret per unique control stations takes 30 seconds longer to appear.
Multipurpose hatchet:
Downing a unique survivors whith the tail strike grants you a token, each tokens reduces the size of your terror radius by 3 meters. You can collect a maximum of 2 tokens per unique survivors.
Kane's headband:
Press the designed button to initiate the fleeing. While fleeing, you rejoin the nearest control stations at a speed of 9 m/s. This action is automatic. If the Xenomorph is fully burned by the flame turrets, the fleeing actions will trigger instantly and reveal the auras of the survivor that placed the turret for 10 seconds.
Purple:
Cat carrier:
Downing a survivor with a tail strike will muffle his/her scream and mark them. Hooking the marked survivors will deactivate the motion trackers for 30s.
Harpoon gun:
While in the tunnels, noises produced by survivors are 125% louder. Exiting the tunnels is 0.5s faster.
Semiotic keyboard:
Crawler mode and tail strike are deactivated for the entire trial. The Xenomorph can press the secondary attack button to skulk, skulking makes the Xenomorph enters it's quadrupedal stance. While skulking, survivors auras in a 32 meters radius will be revealed to the Xenomorph. Skulking makes the Xenomorph considerably slower (2.3 m/s). Standing up or down takes 0.6s. Burning out the Xenomorph will make Skulk enters a 20s cooldown.
Self-destruct bolt:
In crawler mode, vault speed is increased by 30%.
Iridescent:
Acidic blood: Your tail is injured, making it launch your deadly blood.
Increase the range of the tail strike by 25%.
Hitting a pallet or a breakable wall with your tail strike will mark it, marked pallet breaks after 3 seconds.
Ovomorph:
For each seconds in the tunnels, this add on gets charged. When exiting the tunnels the Xenomorph gains the undetectable status effect and the motion trackers are deactivated. This add on can stack up to 180s and resets to zero every time the Xenomorph gets burned out of crawler mode.

I do think so yes. Billy is for me number 2 right behind nurse.
In short, he has low cooldowns, instadown and insane mobility.
Also, people overexagerate his difficulty i think, not to say he is easy to play, but he isn't very hard either, and since he is not very punished for trying/missing, i think he is very beginner friendly.
Hence why he is very popular right now, back then he was heavily punished for failing which is bad (hello Xeno), now he is much stronger in base stats and way less punished for trying. A forgiving powerhouse that dashes, the perfect receipe for a popular killer.
Billy can break pallets very quickly, even more so than other pallet eater, his curving is insane and with the hitbox correction, he can instadown you in a lots of loops if not any. Looping a Billy is more him missing than you actually doing the right thing.
Im not saying Billy is uncounterable, you can do things against him, but most of the time saved is him outright missing, a solid Billy is a quick death i think.
Crouch tech may hold him back a little but with his cooldowns, he will be on top of you after it and you will probably die.
He is weak to strong windows or insane setups. Which is the case for everyone except nurse.

I already have my Pyramid head P100, so i'll get Xenomorph now, after that, Nemesis and Alessa.
-
Xenomorph is an overrated killer, it is not that strong imo. The tail is dodged very similarly to the Nemesis tentacle and it has a massive cooldown. 3s in 1.2 m/s is massive, almost no other killer in the game is crippled like this. It does have a "wind up" before striking, it's just very short. If this killer could be dodged like any other killer then they would be no need for turrets. Nemesis is 0,35 and Xeno is 0,2, but Nemesis has less cooldowns, more range, better utility and better lethality. Xeno has more versatility tho. Yes, Nemesis needs to charge up and deplete vaccines, but the ressources are temporary, once Nemesis is at his peak, he is stronger than Xeno in chase. Alien has a way better early game (one of the best even) but it gets burned the whole game, turrets are infinite and they come with the motion tracker, it's way better than giving free hits in the early imo.
Xeno can be pre runned with the aid of motiontracker, running trough turrets will give you time, extending the chase significantly.
Flame turrets are free bodyblocks that will hinder the progression of the Alien no matter what because it will have to destroy them or lose it's power. And that's not even taking into accounts the skill ceiling around turrets (right now we are in the basement skill level, the vast majority of my matches are against the worst turrets ever, rarely i get a dude who is cracked against Xeno, that will place turrets well).
On the swamp, you have a spot where a turret can shoot trough a wall, a double turret WILL knock you out except if the turrets are really, really badly placed and turrets on hills are still very good if you pace well around them. Yeah it is a time investment, but there is 4 survivors and 1 Alien, you can obliterate the Xeno's momentum with good turrets, so use them.
Xenomorph is by no mean a weak killer, but it is very counterable, has a high skill ceiling and is very punishing to play.
Getting your power back by losing the chase is bad, making the xeno even more punished for getting burned would be horrible. The punishment is there, you have to either commit in bipedal or give up the chase. If crawler mode was harder to get, it would need to be way, way, way stronger than it is now, it is nowhere near the powerhouse level of Oni or Plague.
Moreover, it's mobility is also overrated, it's the coolest power in the game imo, but, it's something you have to walk to, then have an animation, then go where you want and then come out. It's not an instant teleport, you take time to do actually go where you want. It's good, really good even when rng is with you, but it's not so strong it ups Xeno strength by a wide margin imo. The many games where my stations are below the gen, in a corner or just in the wrong place is unreal, it really kill my mobility to have stations like this
In the huntress house, the station can spawn next to the house... Making the house very safe and your mobility useless, and that's not a rare occurance, it happens in every map, every time. Stations, Tv's and powers like this should have priority over chests. You either have insane or useless one.
Recently, i saw in one of Hens video this tier list, i don't know if it's his real tier list or just a placeholder but immediatly, i was surprised. He placed Xeno so low. It immediatly clashed with the "by default" opinion wich is "Xeno is A tier" pushed by almost everyone.
I don't know if i would place it below Nemesis and Clown like in this tier list, but i would definitly put it lower than A tier because it does not deserve it whatsoever. This killer deserves a buff, a normal buff, not a Billy double S+ buff. A buff on it's recovery speed or cooldown to make it less punishing. Release Xeno was an abomination, it was bugged, any killers with normal speed recovery would be OP.
Screenshot_2024-05-26-15-42-38-586_com.google.android.youtube.jpgBefore you say it, no, this tier list is not a "the streamer said something so it's true", im just posting my source to not do the "Hens said it, trust bro". It's the first time i see someone place Xeno so low, and i think it's right, i would maybe put it higher but not by very much. (Xeno had the lowest kill rate on Nightlight for some time, it's not official stats, but it still means something).
So, back to the original topic, i think Nemesis and Xeno are really close in term of strenght, Xeno is very overrated and i would advise more people to actually play the killer, both to see it's strenght after a while and so i can see more of them because Alien is the best.

Hello, here is my experience :
- Im very biased since Alien is very important to me, i was going to main this killer whatsoever, i also main Pyramid head (P100 recently, finally), and Nemesis. I think this killer is a very good adapation, the creature is so versatile you can make it pretty much whatever you want in dbd (stealth, dash/mobility, trap, ranged ect). Im very happy with what we got since it includes the Alien isolation pattern :
- Xenomorph roams in vents (not stealthy at all in AI but it is stealthy in dbd, that's a plus)
- It locates it's prey, comes out (you can hear surv/gens in tunnels and see footprints)
- It's very dangerous when it sees you and can only be repelled by fire (not true in dbd, it is loopable wothout turrets but it IS hard and will put you in situation where you are just done for).
- You have a motion tracker to help you strategize against it.
The gameplay in dbd is the same but instead of the Xenomorph running at you in bipedal stance, it crawls around and use it's tail, the rest is pretty much identical.
Gameplay wise:
Very peculiar killer, with a punishing but very strong anti loop, you can use your macro knowledge to try to "be everywhere" which is for me the funniest way to go (shame the turrets are not finite like wesker, this could be even funnier). Tunnels grants you THE tool to be omnipresent but you need to pay attention to the survivors at all time to use them well (which is a general skill that shines even more with this killer).
It would have no weakness if it wasn't for the survivor spacing. When you are against people who pre run you with SB and use the motion tracker well you will have a painfull experience and no interactions with the survivors who will pre drop the whole map and put as much distance as physically possible between you and them (that's an effective strat but it kills my will to play for the day, or make me play sweaty). It can be very frustrating because your range is limited to 4.8m. Based on your PP, you should be aclimated to that since that's also the weakness of PH (which is super frustrating and encourages you to never use PoTD but that's another topic).
Turrets are dangerous since they are a placeable body block that you are forced to deal with, they do not frustrate me but sometimes they can really destroy your momentum. When survs learn to place good turrets like on hills or double turrets in critical spot to force you out, this killer will be way more difficult to play, for now, most survs are adament to not use turrets or just in front of the stations since "they are useless" so it's really not that bad. You will feel the difference between bad and good survivors with turrets alone.
Add ons wise, acidic blood and self destruct bolt are for me the funniest and most ibteresting, the others are less interesting (i did not say less powerfull).
At the end of the day, most people dont like this killer for various reasons:
- The "nerf" after launch which was completly deserved but turned off a lot of people.
- The various bugs that followed the launch
- The tail being too hard/frustrating which turns a lot of people off like console players.
- The power design disapointment which i don't understand at all but to each their own i guess.
For me it's a 11/10 with the Silent hill chapter and im overjoyed to see it in this game. I would recommend this killer to anyone. But, don't forget that it's pickrate is low for a reason, it is a mix between the singularity and pyramid head syndrome (more like pyramid head).
Difficult, punishing, and a bit cluncky.
Btw, the tail can do some things that no other killers in the game can do, it is a very unintuitive tool but also, a very insane one.
Have a great day !

- Her hitbox is sometimes strange, you will sometimes miss hits that looked like they should have landed making you feel bad.
- Playing without at least one anti-turrent addon againts Survivors who don't put turrents next to tunnels can be painfull to deal with. Feeling like you should play at least with the helmet addon or -2m range yellow addon on turrets.
- Her counterplay is hold W, predrop if possible which is boring if Survivors play it well.
- Her power isn't super unique, she shares elements with other killers. Only true unique thing is turrets that you don't even get to play with.
- When you get out of your power by turrets, the chase is pretty much dead unless you are very close or its dead zone.
I disagee with it not being unique:
- It's tail attack which is the least unique thing is different than nemesis (which is the most comparable one), the verticality allows hits than no other ranged killers can do. You can hit a near 90° making you able to strike people from above and below gaps. Numerous exemples on RCPD, dead dawg, some on midwitch, you can hit trough the small gap in the eyrie of crow shack (which is insane) and so much more i could write a small word document. These are situationals, punishing and difficult, but the tail allows you to do some insane things (which is skilled AND unique, not as flashy like other i agree but still).
- Tunnels are unique in every aspect or shape. It is an entire submap that allows you to move (and not teleport) in complete silence to emerge and strike. You move fast and you can detect survivors. Other killers must commit to their power, but Xeno is free to move and track survivors. People can find it boring, but it is unique and not comparable to the portals of demo in any ways.
- First quadrupedal killer (with proper animations, watch Pyramid head walking in stairs and you will understand what i mean), it has some minors pros and cons like the POV and "extended body" (survivors will see you sooner since your cam is a bit back and not in your head while you are crawling). It can make some loops difficult since you are low on the ground for them i guess, after numerous 1v1 using only m1, people said that it changed nothing so yeah, not sure about the pros except the TR, but it has cons.
- Like you said, the turrets are unique, motion tracker which counter the stealth of the tunnels and a flamethrower that force the Xeno to focus on it for some extra seconds at the risk of becoming an M1 killer for 35s (without Ovomorph add on).
This killer is a force to respect, you can loop it like another killer, but contrary to the Hag, you have to setup to properly face it. Not using the turrets will make things easier for the Xeno, because even if you badly use the turrets, you can still benefit from the motion tracker. Not using them at all is asking for carnage.
So, even if it's power ressemble in the grand lines to other killers (altrough i disagree but let's say so). It is nowhere near the same thing, it would be like saying that Wesker and Blight are redundant because they both dashes forward. Like, yeah, if you ignore everything else, i guess they both dashes. In Xeno's case, it move fast around the map like a teleport and shoots a short ranged projectile.
For the rest, great points, the add ons are a must (the best for me is self destruct bolt, very cool and strong add on) and imo, should not exist, this touch too much the counterplay making turrets inconsistent for survivors. They will not understand why sometimes it works and other time the Alien can just become Ragnaros the firelord and push trough the turrets.
The hitbox IS strange but you can learn it, my real problem with it is the cooldown, it is punshing and pushes you to not use it except when the hit is guarranted (worse on console) which is bad design. You should not fear using you power because it is that punishing. I don't feel punished at all playing Billy and slightly with Nemesis, they should tweak that a bit. Reduce cooldown to 2.7 (m1 like demogorgon and pig recent update) minimum or 2.5 if they are generous, speed should not change that much, maybe a little, little bit up like 1.4. You would go from 3.6m during cooldown to 3.5, almost the same but with 0,5s less of "im watching him W because i tried something fancy". You can make this small tweak only for the miss to still give more distance on hit to the surv. An idea to dig maybe.
For the burned/bipedal step, i would up the downtime of the power by a large margin, making the power like the oni to really force the Xeno to go in tunnels when burned, this would make the turrets more rewarding but would render double turrets really oppressive, not sure about this one, but i don't like that you can get your power after 35s while not interacting with the tunnels at all. To compensate, and perhaps the thing i want the most, have more stations on the map to really heavily play with the tunnel system, i have used them midchase to catch up a fat W or change target in quick motion and i would love to use them more. Idk for the numbers but my most wanted chnage would be more stations around the map !
Sorry for the large amount of text, im passionate about this killer.

We are a small, but dedicated hive !
Hats off to you fellow Xeno main.
If you have some tips, then go for it.

Alien is by far my favorite chapter ever, chucky is very solid, end transmission is one of my favorite, singularity is such a great design it's unreal. And possibly the weakest for me but still good, all things wicked. When a chapter that great is the weakest, yeah, Behaviour has done a great job imo.
This year was phenomenal, the only chapters i trully disliked were portrait of murder, all kill and tools of torment, the rest is at least great or more.

You will get the hang of it if you persevere, aim high, don't m1 even if you throw, use verticality to your advantage and drag the hit box, Xenomorph can do it even better than nemesis. The biggest thing to adjust is the Nemesis muscle memory. With Nemesis, you are used to prep the tentacle by the corner, hitting part of it and dragging to the survivor. Except Nemesis prep is 0.35 and the tentacle can drag "trough" wall (it does not stop if it hit a wall). So sometimes i still have my Nemesis reflexs and i prep my tail too soon and hit the side of the pallet which completly destroy my chase momentum and give them alot of distance.
Use the tunnels a lot, use it to damage the whole team, use them if someone is W'ing to hard or win some fake looping + W. Don't hesitate to fake chase if the guy is strong. Enter a jungle gym with a station, try to pursue him to have a pallet or a hit and watch his head, if he loses you and you have what you wanted (or not), tunnel away and surprise someone else. Turrets are a minor nuisance, destroy them if they are in a loop or in a high traffic area, if it is in a deadzone just down the survivor (only if you are sure to be able to m1 him afterward in a short time). Double turrets will out you out of power while single one can be dealt with. Be wary of turrets on top of hills, it is dangerous.
In terms of add ons, they are for the most part, pretty okay, the self destruct bolt is by far my favorite. I find it usefull to close the gap on very long loop like GoJ or simply a loop like shack (just don't vault L T wall thinking you are fast like the wind with it...). Acidic blood is very great to have a "clock" in chase and the damaging effect. Of course you can use the two turrets add ons which are the best (star map and emergency helmet), i think those are unfair for surv and should be looked at but i disgress.
This killer is like Sadako, Pinhead, Freddy or Pyramid head (we have some exemples in this very forum, people that are, very attached to certain killers, like hardclre fans, Xenomorph is one of this kind) it is niche and that's fine. In term of vs'ing it, i find it easier than someone like PHead, problems is people are adament at saying turrets are useless and use them so badly that they could just let them in control stations. At the same time, people will tell you that Xeno is frustrating because of the turrets (kinda ironic they are useless to surv and annoying to the killer). Truth is, turrets detect the killer so you can W it's ass easily, it acts as a free bodyblock that the killer can not ignore and double turrets WILL destroy it back to bipedal. Placing it in front of stations is uselss, but on hills or in loops, they are in fact annoying since they kick your momentum in the face.
It has slowdowns in the turrets, a strong chase power, some stealth, insane mobility (it's main power and the one you should abuse) and counterplay. It trully is the perfect organism. I would change its add ons, give it more stations to use the mobility and slow less survivors carrying a turret as QoL, don't know how you could change the tail.

Pyramid head - The corrupted. Awesome skin on an awesome killer. In an ideal world, it would have been a tie with the Queen Xenomorph but i find it to be really ugly and poorly done. The crest is great, the mouth is badly done, the little arms are horrendously bad, the butt is enormous and not at all like the Queen in Aliens. It being the same size as base Xenomorph except the crest is logic for dbd but really weird for me, small queen is cursed, a Praetorian would have looked better imo. Her crawling looks bad, the tail strike with the crest looks bad... Yeah, not a fan of the Queen, base Xeno is the best so i'll easily vote for Pyramid head Corrupted (i do think the base one is better but if we are talking skin then corrupted).
I know disliking the Queen is a hot take since everyone loves the tall mom vibe but it's just bot like the Queen i know, so yeah, not a fan at all, i don't hate it but it's nowhere near as good as it could be, it could be the best.
-
I was a Pyramid Head main once, and then i took a Xenomorph to the knee.
Usually, when i play killer, i tend to almost always play Xeno until playtime's over. I can do this with Pyramid and Nemesis also since they are my 3 mains (but i do it more with Xeno because it's recent and i've been playing the two others alot in the past comparativly, i also think Xeno, gameplay wise is the deepest and most interesting out of the 3).
Rarely, i launch the game and plays different killers like Hunk, Sadako, Trapper, Singularity or Dredge but most of the time, i only play my 3 boyos.
I also don't really mix it, i will usually play the same character for my entire playtime then switch of when i play again the next day/week. So it's the "pyramid day" or the "nemesis day" ect.
The thing i switch off consistently tho is perks. I change build every game.
Also, my behaviour will change from time to time. I can play super chill for a day, ignoring everything then get sent to a map 3 times in a row and be ruthless the very next day.
-
The Alien, turrets gaming is really fun and rewarding, nodds are SS+ tier and it's animations and details are just the best in the whole game imo. Shame we can't interact with the tunnels, i would have loved to do a Dallas before getting hooked.
-
It's really sad to see. I got people complaining yesterday about the absolute powerhouse that is Xenomorph up close and i understand. Many times in chase, im like "they could drop this pallet right now, but im Xeno, or i could not play this setup if i wasn't Xeno". The thing is, there are games where i don't even see one turret, or i see 3-4 in the entire match and they are in front of the station or next to a generator. No wonder people don't like this killer (which is even sadder since it's THE Alien), worst part is, you can still loop, it's not like it is un-1v1-able, it's just difficult, contrary to a Blight/Billy/Wesker, you can fake a loop into shift W, you can bait the tail or try to stun it, it's not like you have no options, you have plenty, but it's always risky (except the shift W, this one is guaranted)
When i am a survivor, i can place a turret on top of a hill to make it really effective or a double turret in a crutch place. When i play against this killer, i can waste a lot of time and i usually burn him 4-5 times depending . The problem is the team does not even bother to loop where turrets are. A guy straight up died by walking at the opposite of a double turret in the corner of a jungle gym, it was so free.
On the other side. I've been playing almost only Xeno since it dropped (thks again behaviour for my fav chapter with SH, im so happy it's finally here). When people knows how to play with turrets, the match can be really hard since you will have a "fiery path" or straight up a double turret saying "no more power mr. Alien".
PS: I would love to have more stations to maximise the use of tunnels, in Alien Isolation, there is vents every 5 meters and while it is too much, im not against having more than 7 stations on the map.

Pyramid head, Alien, Nemesis, Dredge and Singularity. The 5 killers i play and my favorites.

According to distressing, the terror radius has something to do with the smell. Sooooo, i guess Wesker stinks a lot.

Xeno's tail attack feels awful. I don't know what's wrong with it but something does not feel right.
It stops when you hit something, sometimes, you shoot directly at a survivor but the tail just hit something next to them and you "miss", it feels wrong because you see the tail hit them but nope, you have to be more precise than Nemesis. Nemesis can just "scan" a zone and hit you where Xenomorph need to not collide with anything if he wants to do this (which is sometime not possible).
If you hit the air tho, you can drag the tail even better than Nemesis since your hit window is 0,4 while Nemesis tentacle is 0,333.
The major difference is cooldowns, Nemesis is way more forgiving with his "i can hit a wall directly and still hit you + recover way faster anyway".
Xenomorph just feel way clunckier than Nemesis because of theses two things. Not even counting turrets or mutation and what comes with it (pallet shred and more range so more opportunities with your hit).

@Brix said:
I think the only point why ppl dont play Xeno as much is the hitbox of the tail isnt as sraight forward then nemmys.
Not only this, Xeno's tail completly stop if it collide with something.
With Nemesis you can smash a wall then drag it to hit the pallet or the survivor directly. It makes him really forgiving because you can adjust your missaim + you have a way shorter cooldown than the tail attack. Add to this 1.2m with the T3 and a pallet shred making him better at pallet scenario than the Alien. The final point is the turrets, they slow you down a lot (not literally, i mean you have to take care of them).
Nemesis is just way smoother and easier than the Xenomorph imo. The secondary ability is the main power of the Xenomorph and it's insane... When you have good spawns and you can access them of course. I wish it had more stations.

They added two of my favorite IP's ever
- They added and revived Silent Hill
- They added Alien

I ask that because i try searching for xeno mains but i cant find anyone to watch lol. not sure why this killer playrate is low,
TheMrHeadhache is a P100 Xenomorph main, i don't really like his playstyle (not using the network that much if not at all, and not going for fancy tail strikes, this may be the correct way, but it's not entertaining for me atleast), you can go watch it if you want some Alien action.
As for the tricks specifically with the tail:
- You can do the drag just like Nemesis, and yours is even longer (0,333 vs 0,4s of drag) so you can preshot some corners, just be carefull because if your tail hit something, it will enter cooldown and cancel your drag unlike Nemesis who is far less punishing and less difficult to play.
- You have verticality, that's where the main "creativity" come, you can hit a near 90° hit in the helicopter stairs in RCPD for exemple. If you are at the top of the stairs and shoot straight down, you can hit a survivor going for the door below. There is a lot of snipes you can make, but they are so precise, they do not happen a lot. You can make them happen but you will be punished for it, and thus, that's why nobody play this killer creativly, you are punished a lot for trying, and you have a very short range. As for it's pickrate, it's pretty correct, not at the top, but not at the bottom, i know it's the Alien but a lot of people actually care about that, gameplay rules by a wide margin, and this killer has a very unique and niche gamedesign that is punishing and a bit too much straightforward. For the tips:
- You can fake the tail at a window only to come back and smack them trough it when they U turn (same for Nemesis).
- You can hit trough small gap, like the cow tree in Coldwind, or some stones in Badham (you see their feets). You can hit from below in the zone where there are holes like in badham, Dead Dawg, Haddonfield etc. The verticality is really handy. Another exemple is the window in the little temple of Yamaoka, thoses windows are a small drop, so Nemesis or PH for exemple cannot hit a survivor that is falling, but Alien can, just be aware, the window itself actually block a lot of space, it does not work everywhere. For exemple, in RCPD, at the vault in the stairs leading to the garden, you can't hit from the window directly below you, the vault will block the tail, but you can place yourself a bit further in the stairs and shoot the surv from here, your tail will descend without colliding with anything.
- Aim for slightly above their shoulders, you can hit them behind rocks without even seeing them, it's stupid but it works.
Xenomorph can do a lot, maybe you will find some insane angles and share them with us later. I haven't found all of them. We haven't even talked about the network which is for me, the main power and the most powerfull.
Sincerely, a devoted Alien/PH/Nemesis player.
-
My takes would be:
- Xenomorph is so polished it might be the best killer model/animations/sound design in the entire game. Just the fact he actually crawl up and down on contrary to pyramid head or the others who just slide in (when PH walks up the basement stairs, the knife float). Xenomorph animations are insane, the sound design is beyong amazing and it has so much little details everywhere, it's just insanity. So for me it wins by a long shot.
- Pyramid head is very intimidating, i have some gripe here and there about some choices they made but overall, he is fantastic. Sound design is also very great, im a bit sad they scrapped the different sound the knife had back then, it used to create different noises based on the surface you walked on with RoJ activated, now it's always the same sound.
I would say Nemesis, but no, his legs are cutted short, he is very goofy and overall not portrayed very well into dbd, could have been better. Great sound design tho.
Singularity, Dredge and Sadako are also really cool, their animations are well done and the sound design is incredible. Especially Sadako, the idle wave sound is such a nice touch to her character.
For the record, a guy named Syralex does some video where he showcase every animations of a killer and their skins, so you can appreciate the devs work and see all those details properly.

Xenomorph, best killer ever !

I just want killers that feel unique to play against. SM, Knight, Hag and Larry are different but it's the same match of trying to break gen defense.
Xeno feels too much like Nemesis.
Chucky feels like Pig with a buffed dash and no head traps.
Whiskers feels like a more basic Blight.
Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Plague, Oni, Legion, Myers, Gunslinger, Twins, Cenobite, Onryo, Doctor and Dredge all feel very different to go against and stop the game feeling stale. BHVR has more hits than misses, but the last six killers just don't feel unique to go against. Larry could feel unique, but he's mostly played like Hag, so the survivor experience feels stale regardless of his toolkit.
I'm really hoping the new killer has something truly unique about them, and isn't just an uglier version of Demo.
At this point, you will never be happy about a killer again.
Each killer you mentionned have something unique to them and a secondary power that FEELS similar to one already existing.
SM has her drones and the clawtraps system, this is unique to her.
Knight, you can think whatver you want of coursew but this guy has 3 other guys modelized with unique stats and properties and he can command them to do tasks, he is one of the only killer in the game that can micromanage, the guards system is unique yo him.
Singularity... I mean, what isn't singular about this guy, the most unique killer in the game imo. He has biopods with camera likes mechanics, he can teleport from seeing you in it's biopods, he has a shield to protect him from pallets and engance his strenght, the first killer with basekit anticamp mesures. This kit is nothing like other killers in any way or shape, the fact you use it to only defend gen is more on you than on Larry. This thing is pure aggression.
Xeno is the first quadrupedal killer, with a level of details and animations unmatched before (one of the first killer to properly climb up stairs and glide trough them), entire fully fledged network system with footsetps detection, it is underground as you can hear survivors just on top of you (use stridor or surveillance and you will hear sounds better), the network is actually below the map and not just a teleport. Finally, the flame turrets with motion sensor, this is a first for any killers, this counterpower is the most unique one and create a new dynamic in the trial. Also one of the most unique killer in the game, the tail is the only not so great part in this kit but it's fairly different than Nemesis, you can achieve hits than Nemesis could only dream off just with the fact you have verticality.
Chucky has the footsteps system that is incredibly unique and is the first killer with a 3rd person view.
Wesker is the first and only killer to grab and throw a survivor and the only killer woth a 40m radius.
I understand your feeling, i kinda have the same thing, when Xeno came out, i was overjoyed (to be clear, i am so happy that it is here in the game, but this moment made me realise that IP did not really matter to the majority, people wanted the Alien for so long and now it is considered a trash design by most if not all of them. What matters is gameplay, IP are just the sugar on the cream IF the gameplay is accepted by the community, but the more we advance in time, the less this will happen due to the feeling of déjà vu), at the end of the day it is still, repair the gen, turn around a pallet and leave/die. Even tho the killers are unique and objectivly better and better, the core game itself is lacking novelty. That is the problem, survivors needs new mechanics, base one, not perks. Even interactable maps like Nostromo would be great. If survivors could do more than just play around pallets and windows. Even killers could use new, general mechanics beyond kicking things m1'ing, running in 4.something and having a terror radius.

First tier: My mains, difficult killers to 1v1 for sure. They are predictable so you must mindgame, you can juke their attacks since it's pure skillshots but i would not count on it too much. Their best counters are mind games and unpredictability. I am obviously biaised here but i will love those 3 no matter the match.
Second tier: My "original killer" mains, Dredge is, depending one the map, one of the weakest killer or a pure terror, still super cool to see. And Singularity can be very oppressive , especially in endgame but the back and forth with EMP is pretty cool.
Third tier: Myers mechanic is pretty cool in term of atmosphere, bubba is map dependant, you can have a blast or die in 3s versus him. Ghostface is like Myers, Oni has something i despise, dashes, but he gets a pass because his power is time limited, we have a "pause" after his onslaught. Cenobite is pretty easy for me, just like Xeno, you have to be "the one" to play around his main power, since the nerf, i enjoy facing him, very cool character, same for Sadako (love ringu!). Chucky is a special cookie, he has a dash, my kryptonite, but he only has one shot at it per ~14s so, if i juke it, i get a small break, plus, i love his footseps mechanic. The scamper is too slow to really matter, except on god pallets, annoying but rarely.
Fourth tier: Doc is no smell, no taste, he is there i guess, trapper can go from zero to hero really fast and that's funny. Demo is a character i would love if i had some attachment to his IP, but i don't so it's just there. Hag is a walking meme, huntress playing zone is horrible but the snipers are so cool ! Freddy has some great atmosphere and my buddy is a main Freddy so i kinda love him. Pig i used to despise since she would just solve the boxes with me... But with the upcoming nerf, i imagine it is going to be fine. Legion is okay, no problemo with them. Plague is like trapper, she can be oppressive or a free escape. Knight is fun when they micro manage everything, plus he is cool looking. Artist is like huntress, the zoner are boring, the snipers are just impressive !
Fifth layer: I can enjoy the match if they are bad or memey, but it's already a bad start when i hear the TR. I am bad against nurse, clown too, he dunks on me everytime plus i dislike his character. Twins are cool, but i can't see them properly from the floor plus i have a huge skill issue against Victor. Spirit is so annoying, it's unreal, too fast plus i dislike her character. Slinger, unlike his short ranged brothers is well, a 18m long ranged dude, i have a lot of troubles juking him, he zone me harder than huntress (skill ksue i know, but i still don't enjoy facing him). Trickster is map dependant too, he can be an "instadown" killer or an m1, still very annoying to go against most of the time since he has so many shots from so far away, main event is the sugar on the cream.
The pit: I dislike theses killers because they have mechanics that i do not enjoy and embodies something that i really hate, i can hold my ground no problem, they are not too strong (even tho, they are really strong), i just really dislike facing them. Wraith is not that strong at all but i don't like his character like clown, and getting bodyblocked is really annoying. Billy, i always disliked but at least he was rare before so i did not really care, now, we have a 10m/s killer with an instadown, an "ultimate", very slim collision, and "specials" cooldowns. His curving, while impressive is very annoying to take in the face, so yeah, i don't like this guy, he his too overwhelming for me, i don't like the insane and free mobility he has coupled with insane loop pressure and an instadown. Blight is, okay, the least annoying of this bunch, his insane mobility is annoying but at least he does not instadown. Wesker could be okay, but his infection and some techs are really annoying. I don't like losing chases to the infection and i don't like seeing him pinball on a wall to smash me while i have walked 4 meters total. Skull merchant is pure biais in the other side, i dislike her looks, her lore and her power so yeah, i don't like seeing her. Just to be clear, the killers i dislike are not OP or too strong, i don't instalose vs them, i just do not enjoy my time, even if i manage to beat them in chase (except Wesker i guess, as long as you are not infected).

Little Nightmares would be fun.
I think there wouldn't be a survivor due to the game's protagonists being children, but overall I think it would be a good fit for DBD.
We did almost get a killer called "The Teacher", didn't we? A Little Nightmares Chapter would be a perfect opportunity to make that happen.
I don't know if it would be "fun", this term in used in theory, but when the actual thing drop, it's another story.
Like i said, an IP isn't eveything (just look at Freddy). And i think this chapter would be really difficult to do, it's mostly a wild card, kinda like Jaws, it can be incredibly original or it can be a mess.
This is no monster that runs, or climb, or shoots, creatures in LN are really specials, it would be as innacurate as Pyramid head, where Behaviour created almost everything he can do because he doesn't do anything special in SH2, he is more of a message after all.
With the massive dominance of mobility killers in this game, i don't think a chapter like LN would be well received (not talking about initial hype, im talking about the long run). Killers that are trully unique and original in their design are for the most part incredibly unpopular, Singularity, Cenobite or even Sadako are the first that come to mind but i could do a full list (open to debate of course).
The killers that are considered great design in this community are almost always killers that dashes, so yeah, there is a clear trend here (i don't see a LN character dashing around).
I used to think IP's were a big deal, but that's not the case anymore, they are a big deal for some people for sure, but not for the majority. Take Wesker for exemple, he is not popular because he is Wesker, he is popular because of his kit, like people say, "it's fun".
The IP here changed almost nothing, the people like you, that plays a certain character because they really love this character in particular, true mains, are rare, and that's why there is 3 Freddy mains even tho he is a very big IP in the horror genra.
Maybe in some months/years, we are going to get a LN chapter that is incredible, but i have 0 faith. I know that im overly pessimisstic in my take, but i guess that's what reading forums does to someone !

I think DBD is in a place where it needs to do this. It's pulled in as much of the old school crowd as it's gonna get. We need to include more recent things to draw new blood.
I partially agree, i think the majority of people that could be interested in dbd because of the old horror icons are either already in the boat or will never play.
That could be why Alien and Chucky "flopped" in term of numbers. There is also the fact that a good portion of this community is not attracted to the horror genre that much and just loves the gameplay, even streamer like Hens (he said it himself in a stream) is not that much if not at all in the horror train, he just loves dbd. So except if the killer has a very "good gameplay" and "skill expression", their IP will not matter that much.
In modern dbd, it's mostly the opposite, most people are going to watch the movies/play the games because they heard about the IP, but never watched/played it (in the same vein, most people that mains and loves Cheryl Mason probably never played SH3). So the IP gains a new breath based on their introduction in dbd (gmeplay, being fun to play/verse, bzing memey etc). That's happened to SH, it was dead in the water, and now, Konami is trying to reignite the franchise, i think this new breath from SH was created by dbd. It putted old games with no visibility in the main show, plenty of people just did not knowed the IP, and now they like/love it.
Chucky is decently played now, i think he is more in line with the others in term of pickrate. A shame the official stats can't help since it's from December to January.
Alien has a decent pickrate of 3% which is not bad at all, but it was one of the top 5 most requested IP of ALL TIME and no one gives a damn about it. It's not talked about, it does not have a good reputation like Demogorgon (which come from an IP that will attract new blood and younger audience) and people do not like the gameplay. On this aspect, the Xenomorph is such a failure, it probably should have stayed away. Sometimes it's better to make people drool about something than to actually give them.
New IP that could give dbd a great run would be:
- Fnaf: I do think that it could be dbd's biggest sales straight up, it is accessible to "kids"/yougner audience (like ST), it has an enormous and still active fanbase and it's one of the most well knowed IP that is also very recent. Problem with fnaf is the war it will probably create between two small portion of the community.
- The Frictional Games: Absolute gems that deserves to be here, Penumbra, Amnesia or Soma. This studio is excellent and i would be happy to see them get some love in dbd.
- Bendy: Not the most popular, but kinda like fnaf, i think it could be very decent.
Little nightmare, evil within, there is plenty of choices (also, it's not new, but a Bioshock chapter would be 👌, good gameplay or not, i would add this to my mains)

It's not happening only with her. People still put turrets right in front of Xeno's exits. Still give first hit to Oni on 15th second of the match. Still group up against Legion. Still "oh someone else will take a box" against Cenobite. Still don't do drones against SM, when it's barely harder than disarm Trapper's traps or Hag's. Still let survivor with Kindred on hook go to second stage.
Everything that is more complicated than m1 on gen and require any critical thinking will cause problem to the most of players. And that's why soloq never will be good. Players always were biggest problem of soloq, they are always will, no matter how many buffs you'll give them.
The amount of people i see putting the turrets in useless places or just straight up not using them is gigantic. Most survivors put them in front of stations or next to gens or just never use them after the first 4 have been used. They place them, badly, at the beginning, then stops entirely.
When facing the Alien, you have to play carefully, place the turrets in loops to create distractions, place two if you want to safely out it of of crawler mode or just one if you want a "free bodyblock".
When you create your fiery path you have to plan your route. The Alien will probably come out of a stations, i place the turrets in a way that it will fire behind it (or if not possible, in a corner) so when i run to the loop, it forces it to turn around or lose crawler mode, if it breaks it, it lost me and has to relocate me or strictly follow my scratch marks (which i can use at my advantages) or at least i won some usefull meters, if it ignore the turrets, well, it is in bipedal form for 35s, which is plenty of time to loop or it will leave me.
And if you use turrets next to stations or generators, at least run early when the beepind triggers, the turrets will do nothing more but you will still have some advances, people get free informations a'd wait for it to come out of the stations to start running...
This killer has been out for like 5-6 months and nobody seems to know the basics of facing it which explains a lot.
This is the same for Sadako, any killers that requires you to play in a different way, to think outside of the box (see what i did here) will just be very "unfun" and "too strong" for many. Sadako is even worse because her power is extreme, she can straight up kill you if you misplay too much. Plus she has been reworked so many times, most casual players are completly lost against her. My friend is like "What does she do today, oh wait, idc she will be different next patch !"
Sadako, Pinhead, Alien, Pig and some others are generally disliked for this type of gameplay that requires you to play differently and/or collaborates as a team.
-
I don't like Artist visuals, lore and power so i never ever play her, but Dredge is in my rotation alongside Xenomorph, Executioner, Nemesis and Singularity.
Problem i have with Dredge is how sad it's power can be. I spawn on Midwich and i teleport a lot, i can be a terror on the map, which is super fun !
Then i end up on Coldwind or others, i have almost no lockers anywhere... I wish it was like Xenomorph or Onryo (stations and Tvs next to gens) where you have at least some lockers next to generators that are guarented plus the others around the map.
The best part about Dredge is the locker teleport and in a lot of matches you just can't really use it. Dredge should have more lockers + some guaranted next to objectives, faster teleportation when not on nightfall and maybe less cooldowns to use it's power so it can teleport more often.
I usually plays the boat key and ottomarian writting to compensate for this lackluster basekit.
I would probably let the cooldown to exit a locked locker as it is because it is your only way to protect yourself and works only once so it's annoying but alright.
On a side note, i think Dredge is amazing even if it is the least fun killer to play in my roaster imo, it reminds me of Amnesia and the atmosphere it creates is really cool, sad part is, it is very inconsistent and can be miserable to play from games to games. It deserves some loves from the devs.
-
Xenomorph, the game is so atmospheric when you face one in this mode, the sound design without the TR and HB is even better. I saw one and it was actually one of the best game in a long time.
Now playing Xenomorph is always cool, i don't see any differences between the two modes, it's mainly for survivors. It's a game mode totally unbalanced, but it's really cool to hear the screech in the distance. My only complain is the chase music, in the normal game mode, it's cool but in this mode, it kinda get you out of the vibe since it's so Aliens-ish and not Alien, the PTB one would have been better for this specific mode.
Pyramid head is also very atmospheric with you hearing the great knife closer and closer. The trails passive sounds are also cool.
-
If one surv place 4 turrets in a square shape form then stand in the middle of it. They will become god of fire and be sparred.
-
@UndeddJester said:
Absolutely agree.
Not sure why Xeno is ragged on as much as it is. Xeno was the killer that actually made me start learning how to actually loop, and start using fakes and baits.
I really enjoy using the turrets, getting crafty about how you place them is a lot of fun.
I realised after a while that placing turrets is kinda the same mindset as playing Trapper. You can place them in standard areas, but you dont get much value feom those traps. What you want is turrets to be hard to spot and more importantly a surprise that forces the killer to take a suboptimal choice to give you the advantage.
- Placing them close to the tunnel/next to you on gen is the basic low value usage. Whichever way the killer approaches from, they will spot you and the turret together and be prepared to break it easily as you run, then stick to you in chase.
- Placing them off the side a little away from you is mid tier. It gives you early warning from that direction to pre run (if you know the killer is coming from that direction), and if the Xeno comes from tunnels you can run to safety in the direction of the turret, knowing certain paths are blocked for the Xeno with it stopping to break, so the Xeno will have to go through the turret of take a longer route.
- The strongest turrets are the ones you place in unexpected locations with a specific idea in mind. If you place it along the path where you intend to run, but especially predict where the killer will approach from and use small trees/bushes/obstacles or place it out of view from a particular direction behind junctions in walls or rocks to obscure it as you run past, you can really make it hard on the killer. Locations where the killer will specifically have to look away from you when the turrets activates forces the killer to either ignore and get brokwn out of power, or to try and turn away from you to to break it. If they try and succeed to break it you'll have made quite a lot more difference... but if they missed the turret, and fail to break it in time, you juat got insane value.
Turrets are good enough for what they need to be, and Xeno is solid as a killer. I'd argue one of the fairest and better balanced killers in the roster.
Agree, imo, Xenomorph is the perfect killer.
As for the turrets, their job isn't really to take you out of power, they threaten you by being able to pull you out of crawler so you must take care of them. They are sort of placable bodyblocks, the Xenomorph has to hit the turret because if they don't, they are back to bipedal form. If the turrets were stronger, it would make life for the Alien miserable. The only thing that could change imo is the tail strike CD, not speed, CD. 3s with 1.2m/s is the biggest CD of all the ranged killers + the shortest range. It would be nice to have 2.5s ofor the CD instead of 3, like Nemesis.
Like you said, i don't understand the Xeno rage but people post a lot about it, so i guess, it is popular in a sense.
-
Hello,
I play Xenomorph a lot (my favorite killer with executioner and nemesis), i don't think it needs anything, it is imo, the perfect killer, i had beef with executioner adaptation, or nemesis one, but the Alien... With the limitations of dbd, it's perfect, favorite to play, favorite to verse, i queue in hope of seeing one.
The tail is cluncky because the range is so short you are next to the survivor when you use it (4.8), so it deserves a big CD. You could lower the CD a bit i guess, right now it's 3s, so the biggest CD for all ranged killer. Bringing it to 2.5s should be okay, a ptb would be interesting, to compensate, you could lower the speed even more, but it would not really matter at this point.
To the guy that said "Tail is like stbfl, when you don't miss, the CD is lower", where did you find this information ? As far as i know, tail strike is 3s with 1.2m/s, no variation.
And bugs ? Same as before, as far as im concerned, all bugs with the tail strike have been corrected. Right now it's normal. The CD is long and the tail is cluncky, just like in ptb. It could use a CD buff to make people like to play it (kinda Billy like) but it's more than fine as it is.
-
Pyramid head and Xenomorph.
Try your hardest to cage them, be allergic to hook.
Overuse the stations, even in chase, go full whack a mole Xeno (Tinkerer/trail/machine learning and pop is fun + cat carrier to giga stealth)
-
I was a Pyramid head OTP, then he made some space for Nemesis when RE chapter came out (N°2) and now PH is N°2, Nemesis N°3 and i am a Xenomorph main.
Alien and PH are so close tho, i could say they are both N°1, Nemesis is after both of them anyway.
-
It's fine, the pickrate is very decent for the number of killers we have, this killer will be like Pyramid head. Good killer but a bit cluncky so not for everyone, also kinda like singularity, you have to be really into the game to play well, you have a lot of stuff to keep track of and the turrets also annoys a lot of players.
It seems easy to play but it's really not, the tail is hard to hit and really punishing to miss. Keep in mind Alien has the sortest range AND the longest CD, even bigger than Deathslinger, it is to balance the fact that you are within lunge distance when you hit but it create a bad feeling when playing. You feel heavy and limited, no mobility, no crazy shots.
The network has a lot of depth to it, you can even use it in chase with a good rng and the management of turrets can be hard if they are placed well. So i think it's too annoyingly difficult and frustrating to play for most (ive seen a lot of frustration from people missing tails by an inch or having tunnels in map corners. It has no free mobility so it's a W fest with the turrets "slowing" you down and beeping to alert them.
It suffered from bugs at release that really killed the hype (because everyone was happy about the ptb), a gigantic hype caused by anticipation (people also expected something else in term of power, everyone had their ideas) and it has one of the most disliked mechanic in the game: short ranged attack.
Also, when people says they are going to play it, or they wanted it for years does not mean they will actually do it. At the end of the day the only thing that count in dbd is gameplay, the license is a plus but not a deciding factor for the vast majority of gamers.
Most of the "well designed" killers are dash killers: Billy, Oni, Blight, Wesker, even very original and amazing concept like Singularity just gets forgotten. That's why Chucky did better (and not even by much i think), it has a dash, forgiving misses, really easy to pick up and strong with depths to master. The only dash killer that is really punishing is, very surprisingly never played (hello Billy). Billy has the same CD as Xenomorph (3s when bumping), next patch, Billy will be much more forgiving with better collision and less CD, and boom, massive success, it's that simple really.
This killer is going to be niche and that's prefectly fine. Alien probably selled very well so i think it was a massive success in that aspect at least (queens everywhere on release so that's alot of money).
I don't think it was a fail by any means, but not the dream chapter everyone created in their minds. Nemesis is by far the most forgiving of the short ranged killer with a passive power on top of it, it does not have the clunck of PH nor the turrets + clunck of Alien, that's probably why people gravitate more towards him, when Nemesis released, it was the same deal: boring power, can we rework him and blah blah blah, nowadays he is fine so it's going to be the same for Alien. (PH release also created a war in the community).
Nemesis can miss but succeed and Xenomirph cannot as much, to drag with Alien, the tail must no collide with anything or you'll enter CD, so when used in loops, you really can't drag that much like Nemesis does, tou can scan a pallet to get the hit, but you can't hit the wall then drag to hit the surv like Nemesis does all day along. If Nemesis had no drag, his pick rate would suffer A LOT, right now, he suffers mobility issue but is really forgiving, not easy but easier than his two brothers.
Alien "failed" by not being the next Wesker, but you can see that Behaviour did a lot with it, complex power, they designed the turrets (first of their kind), the network (first of it's kind, works on EVERY map, insane concept), the Xenomorph itself is the most complex model with two walk cycle, no "walking straight" in stairs, it has proper animations, the map has easter eggs, with an amazing sky box, Ripley has Jonesy and voice lines. Like clearly they did not hold back with the chapter.
I choose my characters because i love them, i would have been an Alien main no matter what, even if it was trash, but i do trully think the design is not bad at all, it's even great, more undetectable would have been amazing.
Slap a dash attack with undetectable like Chucky (forgiving) to replace the tail and boom, great design for the community. (But we can't have dash killers only, we need Singularity or Dredge to bring something cool, and i think Alien hit the spot).
And you never hear anyone saying that Blight and Wesker are the same because they dash around (that's normal, because they are different) but Xenomorph is like Nemesis or Demogorgon ?? Not at all, i don't know why people do this, but this is just untrue and kinda cheap. You could say you play around Nemesis the same as Alien, yeah maybe, and even then, i disagree, but it's the same for Wesker and Blight, you have to use LoS blocker and specific jukez but you also get zoned or hitted without being able to do anuthing except "hope they miss".
i think they did very well, but like i said, it is not for everyone, at the end of the day, gameplay rules, the rest is just decorations.
Final note: I LOVE Alien, thank you Behaviour for this !

Was similary suprised by this thread. Generally the reception of Xeno was pretty good at the time. Since Xeno got launched, Wesker has taken quite a big dip in regularity of play for quite an extended period of time... so I'm not convinced myself.
What killed Xenos momentum was 2 pretty bad bugs back to back: -
- No slowdown applied on tail miss, making it impossible to loop, and extremely frustrating for survivors.
- Once that was fixed the hitbox on the tail got really badly screwed up and was catching on terrain in scenarios that made no sense.
Xeno flip-flopped from being one of the most most broken killers, to being barely usable. It's now in a decent place far as I can tell, and has maintained an above average pick rate.
I think you are right on this, Alien on ptb was cheered by almost everyone, some even said it was a perfect killer and a perfect chapter. The hype was enormous.
First day of live, Alien everywhere with the queen skin (seriously, i have seen more queens than drones even tho i think this skin is ugly, the mouth, the crest, the little arms and the butt are all very badly done and not like the regular queen from Aliens, the size i understand, she is tiny because of gameplay but the rest, not so much), but in term of sales, it must have been a big hit for Behaviour.
The bug made Xenomorph unberable (even for me, i was really frustrated with it, and i did a lot of ptb so i knew that something was off).
It is a say that the first impression is the most important, well it was a miss for Alien, and after that, it all went down.
Add to this the short range anti loop design that is generally disliked, TCM on fire at that moment, people burnt out of the game, the fact that dbd is still dbd at the end of the day and no Xenomorph will change that, the fact that most of this community is unfamiliar with the horror genre at best and only play dbd for the pvp comp experience and finally, the fact that their is a tendency today of consuming/judging things extremely quickly then going next (Otz video on the xenomorph ptb, someone asking right away "what is the best build", "Is xenomorph strong", "It's like demo and nemesis" and any things like that, there is no hype, discovery or even just enjoying things, this guy, without any offense, is not an anomaly, he is the norm, and that, hurt new content, killers, perks etc.)
I don't think Alien failed as a chapter, or even the Chucky chapter for that matter, but it opened my eyes on a things:
- Trailer hype, ptb hype and people saying things like "ive been waiting so long for this" or "never been so excited" are a non factor, at the end of the day, IPs are irrevelant, only the pure gameplay count (wesker best exemple, you give him a "crap" gameplay, and no one plays him, even the wesker "fans" of today. Most of the dbd knows the character by name, but doscovers the movies/games afterwards (it's not bad, but it diminuqh the power of an IP since it plays around that).
- We reached a point in dbd concept designs were there isn't much to do without new mechanics, killers are going to feel (and only feel) similar and it would help to create new mechanics, objectives or things to play around, screw simplicity, i would love some new things to interact with. Moreover, when i play killer, everything feels the same, killer power, perks, no matter, it's only down hook, rince and repeat, i would like some changes.
What makes horror, well, horror is buildup, in dbd there is no early stage of stalking, lurking ambushing (this hurts Alien too, same for ghostface, pig and myers). Dbd lacks a proper early and late game, i think they should take inspiration from movies with a slow start, an explosive midgame and a chaotic lategame.
On a positive note, Xenomorph not ending like Wesker is great. Wesker is popular only because of his gameplay, having a real loving playerbase around Alien is cool (most IP's have a small dedicated playerbase that is here out of love for the IP itself, Sadako, Pig, Demogorgon, Pyramid head, Pinhead and Freddy come to mind). Freddy mains that plays Freddy because they love Nightmare on helm street, you have my eternal respect, that is so based it's unreal. That is the true power of having an IP in a game.

Huge Alien fan, almost only played Xeno since it came out! <3
I kinda adapted to it's nerf, i even do tail flicks sometimes with controller as a console chad. It's weakness are turrets and tunnel-spawns can hurt on some maps (noticed that the spawns get even worse during an event). So i pick some very weird Addons: + 25% recovery while outside of the tunnels + turret gets automaticly destroyed when it forces you out of crawl. There're both cheap brown Addons and suprises most survs.
Another reason i love this killer are it's smooth animations and it's sounddesign.
I only play killers who are very silent and NOT anoying in the lobby, if you know what i mean... (like Huntress, Pig, PH).
3 Quick tips:
- Always use the tunnels at the start to find someone quick, unless you spawn near a safe breakable wall, break that!
- If you get lost in the tunnels, try NOT to use the yellow tunnel-GPS at all. Once you did it one time, it will always stay yellow
- Only M1 turrets, the cooldown with the tail takes longer
It's great to hear some positivity for once ! Im glad you enjoyed the Alien, i've been having a blast too. I think it's the only time i stayed in a ptb until it closed. Best chapter ever (im a huge fan so i am biaised but even objectivly, this chapter got some serious love from the devs and kudos to them for that).
-
Waited so long for this chapter and unlike most of you (on theses forums at least since there is a tiny fraction of the community here and it's almost always the same persons anyway) , i was not disapointed at all.
For what dbd is capable to offer, it's awesome, saying it is generic is untrue, it is not an opinion it's a fact. First quadrupedal killer ever with proper animations for once and no gliding everywhere (sound design and model are beyond amazing but that is not unique).
Power wise, the network system is trully unique, no powers in the game comes even close to being similar. It is a submap that works on every map in the game with footsteps detection and generators noises audible. It is a perfect power idea for this killer and works really well in the game, my only grip is, i would have liked more undetectability around it. Maybe a lingering effect or an AoE that makes the Alien stealthy (8-12m maybe with a bursr of speed when leaving a tunnel like Sadako with the Tv's).
The tail strike is a great idea that sadly is a power type that is generally disliked by people. Players feels like they have no agency facing the Xeno while most players don't like playing with it because it's to punishing to miss and hard to aim (it's ironic, like Pyramid head, people says it's no brain easy anti loop, but no one plays him because it's actually pretty hard and punishing, most Xeno or PH zone because the power is far tobrisky to use, and it's inherent to the design, it has a big punishment because you are close to the survivor). This power works well in the power fantasy of the killer, no biggie on that, it works well in game, it is nowhere near Nemesis or other ranged killers for the matter. I could break it down further but the comparison is so "Xeno fully fledged tunnels that allows it to move around and listen to survivors are the same as Demo point and click TP" that it's not even worth to further describe.
The flame turrets are another thing completly unique, they are really strong, Xeno is a killer that can be really bullied by turrets and pre running but it's mostly seen in comp or really high level (wich is not me, not 90% of you and very few people overall). But still the amount of people that still place turrets in front of stations or next to gens is baffling, if you want to slow it down, put one "behind" is pathing, you path from the gen to a loop, you put the turret behing a tree or rock that flames the loop bit not the gen, this will force the Xeno to turn around and lose sight and time or get burn. If you really want to burn him with NO counterplay, put two turrets next to eachother in an open area, job's done. Pre run the killer when the turrets are beepinf if you want to play it mega safe. Xeno must not be taken head on 1v1 like an m1 killer it's a killer you must anticipate, ambush and play around.
All in one we have a power that respect the fantasy around it (stalker in vent that has a very threatening presence but can be countered by fire or good preparations, wish it had more stealth tho).
Most ideas around the Alien power are really cool on paper, but:
- Wall crawling is stupid, cool, but stupid, it counters everything in the game, and the only way to make it work is to make it super limited or cluncky, kinda like nurse, so not ideal.
- Facehuggers would have been like Pig or Nemesis in the sense that it's something that you kinda put there but it's mostly passive. Kinda like the wall crawl, this would have been so nerfed and watered down it would have been pathetic. I agree that it would have been cool to see them in action but how the heck do you put them in ? I think they do not work and putting them in will cost to much in the power budget, you as the Xeno would have less to compensate and that's not cool.
As for it's pick rate, it is perfectly fine to have a killer that is not played by everyone everytime. Except Wesker, there is no licensed killer that is everywhere. Wesker is easy to use and hard to master with techs/exploits to research that enhance his skill ceiling. Xeno is like Pyramid head, a well done killer that just isn't for most. Keep in mind, that the more times pass, the less chance you have to encounter the killer you love (because there is more killers in the pool).
On Nightlight, the Alien is the 15th most played killer with 3% pick rate. Nightlight is not the official stats by any means but it is still something to look at, with the number of killers we have, 3% is not bad at all. You could say "Yeah but people have been waiting so long, and you never see it and im disapointed, because it's not what i wanted, it's so boring" and the rest. But it's a you problem. Maybe that hype killed it in the egg, maybe it's the strong traumatism of launch (since EVERYONE cheered and sayed the ptb was more than fine) or maybe it is the mere presence of a short ranged antiloop but in the end, it does not warrant a Sadako/Freddy solution and it would be sad to see this killer get demolished.
I think the devs should stop adding chapters for the game for some times and take a year to work on the game itself. With their disastrous coding from the dbd start, i understand that it must be hard to implement things, they are most likely fighting the code to not explode at any new things. But they should do a R6 move with a gigantic game health year. Addressing tunnel/camp, game objectives, new game mode, scarier things like ambiance. Most people in dbd are not horror fans or even knowers of the genra. So im not surprised by the complete lack of care by most for horror feature. And we adapt to not fear something after a while so it would be a challenge to even partialy succed in that regard. But still, maps are too open, i must be the only one that likes the indoors map, but there is a reason why the only killers that are scary are played in indoor maps, outdoors would be fine of they had fogs (real fogs not this purple add on watered down black vape).
Currently dbd is a competitve 1v4 game that is played in a 1v1 way, you can see the killer from across the globe, you can hear the killer from across the globe, and the most efficient ways to play is also the most boring and uninteresting part. Xeno is not the only one getting burned out and they should really take some time to work on the game itself.
Great wall of text i know, but i think it's better to actually explain an opinion instead of saying "I think Alien is one of the best chapter in this game next to Silent hill, i waited for it since i started to play back in 2018, i am not disapointed at all because i had realistic expectations and i am so happy that it is even here to begin with. If you don't encounter Xenomorph and you would like, maybe we'll meet one day because i have been playing only this killer since it launched (which means not 4 hours at all), i play a stealth build to compensate for the only disapointing thing in this killer wich is lack of stealth imo".
Here was the short answer, great day to all.

Xenomorph/Executioner/Nemesis
Dark deception is my go to perk, i love the confusion it can create, but it only works in combination. I love this particular build:
M&A, dark devotion, Ultimate weapon and Infectious fright. It creates so much confusion among most survivors. You can UW/IF the dark devotion and M&A will change your TR quite frequently which will add to the chaos.
I use shadowborn, plaything and trail of torment a lot too.
As for the "synergy" with the killers, my 3 mains are all chase oriented but suffer from W since they do not have mobility (xeno has a restricted mobility, not a free one like blight or wesker). So having stealth can give me some meters and thoses meters make the difference. Of course the best synergy with any killer is just regression but i enjoy stealth the most for my picks.
Honorable mentions when you play "optimally":
Xeno with make your choice and agi + camp in a tunnel to proc MyC and zoom out, since you go 18m/s, you can go "away" to proc MyC really easily
Executioner: Forced hesitation to obliterate both survivors in a cage camp scenario
Nemesis: Ruin with zombies is great, i like PWYF a lot too since i usually hit and run a lot especially at the start, having extra speed after an infection or a hit can be great

Ring is a very important IP in horror, saying it's just a random movie is crazy. You don't have to say "in your region", Ring is everywhere and everyone who watched a lot of horror movies have watched it or at least knows the "ghost in the tv with long black hair".
For me and in my region, it was indeed just a random movie, i am sorry. But that does not mean it is weak or not important, maybe i was wrong with placing her that low since many claim ringu is very popular in Japan.
I can remember it did well at the box office (The Ring, not Ringu, this one i only knew through the ring and only have on DVD). But to be fair, that can also be said about many "random" horror movies. Annabell or Paranormal Activity are also on the same level, but the franchises are overall probably more popular (and made more money) then Ring in my region.
It's kinda sad seeing theses IP getting trashtalked for being "bad" in dbd, im so happy to even have them but hearing some people, they would be better without it. Halloween was the first IP, replace it with Ring or any others IPand it would have been the same. The insane thing back them was dbd even having a collab woth a big horror IP, not Halloween in particular imo.
I am not trashtalking the Ring at all, and so did nobody else in this thread. Nobody said it is bad - i put it in Nice to have. I dont think any IP we have is bad at all.
Where i disagree is that replacing Myers with Ring would have been fine for the game. The only 2 killers that could have replaced Myers are Freddy or Jason. Just imagine a similar game at that time would have taken Myers and Freddy and DBD would have got Ring + other IP... Come on, realsiticly speaking, this would have changed the outcome a lot.
I apologise if my comment seemed offensive, it wasn't the goal at all. Back to topic, yeah i've seen a lot of trashtalk lately about the IP's on different platform and that is a bit sad considering how important they are for this game in particular (i saw a lot about Alien and Chucky). I think we peaked around Halloween, Silent Hill and Resident evil, they were in my eyes the ones that really made a lot of noises, i don't remember ST that well except some interviews and games with the actors that were cool. This one i do not remember well but it is probably just me missing the hype. The others IPs were all big event of course but a different kind of hype.
About "Halloween being replaced", i don't think only Jason or Freddy could have done the job bit it is true that i may be overestimating the Ring influence. We will never know anyway.
How do you perceive Hellraiser ? This one, i am very curious, i don't think a lot of people knowed this one even if, like the Ring, it is big.

I'm strictly speaking from a visual and audio design standpoint. The quality surpasses every other map to date, I feel. BHVR gets a lot of criticism, but credit where credit is due, their design team knocked that map out of the park.
It's better than Midwich for you ?
I love both, but i think Midwich is superior, the ambiance is so good there and you have the whole thing.
My problem with Nostromo is that the part in the Nostromo is very tiny, you get a really small Nostromo part that is excellent, the survive pod of Ripley and that's it, the rest is Toba landing-esque (not bad) and that's not super great.
I would say Midwich is better overall, curious about your opinion on the matter.

I guess Sadako is not that important in your region.
In the Japanese community, she's probably right up there with Myers.
Ring is a very important IP in horror, saying it's just a random movie is crazy. You don't have to say "in your region", Ring is everywhere and everyone who watched a lot of horror movies have watched it or at least knows the "ghost in the tv with long black hair".
Many players in dbd are not familiar with the horror genre and are just gameplay drived which is fine.
Just because the dbd community dislike a killer does not make the IP bad or anything, it's just a failure among their "lives".
Alien (or ring i guess) failed in dbd just like colonial marines failed as a game while Alien Isolation was a masterpiece while IPs like SH or RE did great in dbd.
Just like in anything, some are a hit, some are a miss. In the end Ring (or Alien) are still complete giant, far surpassing this game, that had such an impact on modern horror and creature/abilities power. If Alien did not exist, Demogorgon would probably be very different since the brothers said it was the prime inspiration (it wasn't only Alien of course, but still). Ring is the same.
It's kinda sad seeing theses IP getting trashtalked for being "bad" in dbd, im so happy to even have them but hearing some people, they would be better without it. Some respect for Ringu !

I use it on Xenomorph as an endgame build with Noed and No way out and it's great but the range is so short, it's sometimes frustrating. I tried it on Midwich to really put the build in favorable condition and it was great but not insane at all. It could use a bigger AoE i think. It is mainly usefull in endgame since you don't want to chase around completed gen. It does help when survs take you there to seal the deal quicker tho. Cool perk

People are not going to play a charcater because of the character (vast majority of them). The only thing that makes people play something is gameplay. Im not talking about playing it for 2 weeks then dropping it, im talking really "maining" it.
Alien is the perfect exemple, many people sayed they were going to 100% main this creature because they love the IP and you know the rest. Today we got it and it is a super rare killer that you never see. People are hyped, consume the content in like 20mn, judge the thing with or without hivemind/streamer opinion then go next (not everyone, im exagerating, but it is like that for most).
License isn't everything, it's gameplay. Slap a dash attack like chucky on Xenomorph instead of the tail and you have an already way more popular killer, because this type of gameplay is more pleasant for a lot of people, movement is more fun.
I think you are right with the "nowadays licence will not carry them as hard as before" because we reached the peak of the playerbase for this iteration of dbd, only real fresh changes can modify this now, like gamemodes.
License that are popular are the ones with fun gameplay (generally a dash but let's say Myers is an exception, he is pretty popular).
Wesker wasn't requested or popular and he is the killer you see the most while Alien, the, or one of the most popular is a ghost. You could delete it tomorrow and only 4 persons that actually main it would notice.
What is the difference between the two of them ? Their gameplay, Wesker is fun and Xenomorph isn't (for most of the community at least). You can bring the most popular creature ever, if the gameplay does not interest people, the IP isn't going to just magically work.
People saying generic power when we got 3 unique things that no other killers have or even come close to having (Network system and all it's insane features, flame turrets and quadrupedal and everything that goes with it like proper animations when in stairs) because of one more classic attack is such a spit on the work of the devs. You can not like it, totally fair, but it's not generic at all, there is a lot of work in it, they took the matter with care and it shows.
But they are limited by their own game, they cannot make it crawl on walls (because it would be a nurse problem, it would be sluggish for balance) and facehuggers would be the same (either op or completly bad, and take too much of the power budget we would have a nemesis situation where you don't really play 50% of your power)
Every IP killers introduce a mechanic and Xeno followed this track, "generic power" translate for "Not what i wanted" and especially "not a fan of a midrange attack", same fate as PH and Nemesis.
This chapter is just the best exemple of what people says/what people do, the relation between the character and it's gameplay and the effect of hype and anticipation that leads to creating something that you want only to be disapointed. Kinda like Nemesis, Nemesis would be so much more popular with a "better" gameplay.
My opinion of course, i think i am by a miles, not in the majority here. I was waiting for this IP since i joined the game, it's by a long shot the best chapter for me with SH and i'll die on the hill of "The Xenomorph is an incredible killer". Is it perfect ? Not at all, they could change some things, the "undetectable" aspect or give it some more transformative add ons but the core is great.
To focus more on the question, no, i don't think IP will matter that much anymore, the community is for the most part, fully established, dbd is well knowed and not much people discovers it. But, certains chapters would for sure bring some people in, would they stay for the gameplay tho ? Not sure.
-
What if stbfl transformed the unhooked into the obsession, so you were encouraged to follow the unhooker instead of tunneling, it would not solve the camping power of this perk but at least you would get punished for tunneling. It would really mess with the flavor of the perk but upgrade gameplay.
-
If this can help, Crohmbs talks about it in a video called "This add-on has a HUGE secret - Dead by daylight". I am no Wesker main but he is, and i think the video was pretty clear so give it a shot.
-
I think the design is really good, a lot of people wanted more but it would have been awful, facehuggers would be a mess, a power like pig either too strong or too weak + it's clearly not the focus, they aimed for an Alien line in Alien isolation, not the ovomorph, facehuggers or either lifestate, they brought us the Xenomorph itself so i clearly see why the rest was putted aside. Walking on the walls or the ceiling is, accurate yes but ridiculous, seriously, people, this concept would be just like nurse, a power sonbroken at it's core it would be heavily limited and sluggished to make up for it, it would have been way worse. It's important to remember that this creature is hard to implement, what we got is a good balance for what dbd is capable of.
Dbd cannot deliver an Alien with it's full might just like it cannot give us an accurate Nemesis. Most of the licensed killers are not accurate to their real power (Nemesis, PH, Pinhead, Wesker for some exemples). The difference is that except for Nemesis, the others were not hyped at all (for the vast majority not everyone of course). What i want to show by that is that the liberties taken and the opportunities missed are not picked up by players because theses characters are obscure and niche:
Wesker is way more competent and lethal than it's dbd iteration (he has a dash so je is saved but still) the uroboros is nothing like the real utoboros. They adapated him.
Nemesis, i'll let you see TheDarkTyrant rants, they are great
Pyramid head, honestly, hat's off, this character has nothing in it's game, not even the base speed, some it is entirely new
Pinhead with plastic chains and a box that does something that it never did in any movies, entirely nerfed and new, they adapted him.
But since theses characters (except Nemesis), they did not suffer from expectations that high.
I've been playing dbd for a while now, and i like to create concepts (i have like 13 now) so naturally i go watch some others people concepts to see what they cooked, and i almost never saw PH, Cenobite or Wesker. RE was popular of course, but with Nemesis/Mr X/Dimitrescu/Birkin/Jack (must be the remakes + re7-8 launching, Wesker was not that popular at all).
Today Wesker is considered peak, good design and now everyone loves him, he is now popular, people even outside of dbd likes him while they were indifferent before. He grew from niche charismatic villain to superpopular (im talking in the dbd community not in general, wesker is a well knowed villain in the "horror scene").
What makes Wesker a "good design":
- Voice lines (has a little part in it)
- Chase music (has a little part in it)
- Dash attack (very high part)
- Ability to throw and slam survivors (unique part)
- Multiple exploits/techs or whatever you call them adding skill and fun (really high)
- A freedom, low CD, great mobility, the ability to pop over pallets or windows, the natural ability to CATCH UP and counter the massive W (really high)
The Alien got the reverse treatment, it was an hyped chararacter since the very first licensed IP coming, Halloween.
Today we got it and everyone is disapointed, because of 3 things:
- We wanted somehing else (with such versatility and creativity in the creature, we could have had 3 or 4 different kits that worked easily). Expectations were tremendously high, maybe the highest of them all.
- It's a mid ranged attack and everyone hate that at it's very core plus nobody learned the counterplay with the turrets anyway. Even today i still see turrets placed in front of the stations everytime i face an Alien.
- A strong traumatism at the launch while it was bugged, this is also key, in the ptb, the feedback was super positive but the first impression in the live was very PTSD inducing for a lot of players (myself included, i found it ridiculous).
Xenomorph is for me an almost perfect design, it is strong, a good balance between what we wanted and what could behaviour do with the IP i was waiting for all this time.
IF Xeno had a dash attack replacing it's tail attack, it would have been one of the most played killer right now, it has nothing to do with the IP, it's a fact, people loves dashes, almost every characters with a dash is "balanced, great design, fun to play, fun to verse" and we are going to see why:
Take Wesker, the CD when missing a dash is 1.5 but you have the distance since he will go far away most of the times, now take Nemesis or Xenomorph, when they miss, they have a big CD, but they are right next to you, so it feels like them missing is not problematic, the thing is, there is a problem with the very concept of a mid ranged attack and this is the ultimate flaw with Xenomorph.
Huntress is the only ranged killer that people usually likes, because she can try, that's the word, try. She can try to hit you over the map and she can also zone you. Why is she considered good design ? Because people will go for snipe shots most of the times and you as a survivor will feel like she deserve the hit because it was a good play. A huntress that catchs up is horrendous to verse, by the time you have taken the first hit, she will already lift up the other hatchet and you will still be having the speed boost from the first hit...
Xenomorph and Nemesis cannot try, they simply cannot, their power is limited to such a low range that you have to catch up (boring) to be in your "power range". This is BS, because survivors will want to run to stay away from the power zone, thus leaving every loops and you will desperatly want to interact with them and play your power. Creating an horrendous loop of boredom, due to their limitation, their powers are strong but limited, they do not have the freedom of Wesker, Blight or Huntress. They are cluncky and limited, so for most players, unfun.
Also you, as a survivor cannot interact with the unique and incredible part of it's kit, the tunnels and that is a massive shame, plus with the motion tracker, the previsibility of it's mobility (like i said, lack of freedom) and the nature of it's m2, ive seen a lot of players just prerunning me, which makes my games really miserables.
Xenomorph has a very great design on paper, it's power was really well thinked:
The tunnels with the footsetps, a mobility that is very great, the turrets being super fun as survivors and the tail being really great to have some unique hits but, Xenomorph like all killer with such an attack will be disliked, because this is the fate of this type of power. Replace it with a dash like chucky, an "ambush" and boom you have corrected the killer.
I agree that it would have been better, they clearly took the Alien:Isolation route with it's animation and even the power logic:
Xenomorph is in the vents, detects someone, drops on him, chase him with a almost no counterplay (in AI, you are dead when it drops on you) and you can counter it with fire.
At the end of the day, i think what we got is very solid, it's sad to see such an icon be hated by almost everyone, it's disapointing, maybe it should have never come to dbd in the first place. I am overjoyed with this charcater that i wanted for too long, i loved every matchs against it, and plays almost only it for now. For me it's the best chapter we ever had, up there woth Silent Hill.
PS: I would like some opinions on this: Are Xenomorph tunnels great ?
I'll explain: When i watch a Xeno player or play against it, they usually use the tunnels at the beginning and after that, it's over. This is because Xenomorph can usually just walk to their objectives and it's much faster than walking to a control station and going in a fixed location, almost everytime not where you want. And that's something i really dislike.
So for you all, are the tunnels actually great lr are you just playing a mid ranged attack killer that can get burned.
I play too much into my tunnels and i think it's costing me.

Mine is a p100 wraith. I would do pyramid head but 100 prestiges of those addon's would cause severe depression
That's true, it's a massive waste of add ons, but it's about prestiging a character that i love for me. (i play PH, Xeno and Nemesis, so the add ons are all trash anyway except for maybe Xeno, they are okay-ish for it. P100 Wraith is impressive, i am struggling to seal the deal, with my P100, it's so long. Props to you.

dbd fun tier list.png
The first tier is the 3 killers i look for when i play survivor, i play in hope to see them (i never see them :( ).
The "Demogorgon and Wesker" tier is a bit special.
I am no fan of ST at all but i do appreciate Demo, Robin and Hopper. Demogorgon is a Xenomorph inspired creature with a D&D name slapped on it (the creators sayed it themselves but even withiut it, you can clearly see it). Despite that, i am not fond of it's design, the only thing that i really like is the shape of the mouth, it's really great. I played it a lot before since it was my Xeno placeholder and i can't say that it's unfun.
As for it's reputation, i am out of luck since some of the rudest players i've faced were Demo, can't say that "it's a good boi" or others things popular in this community. I groan when i see a Demogorgon, one of the few killers that i really dislike for now, not a problem with it's kit, but i don't like the killer and the it's players (not everyone but thoses that i faced at least), it could change with some nice encounters but i feel like this killer is immensly overrated in all aspects.
As for Wesker, the character as a whole is great, re5 was really bad for me (looks and plays like an arcade game), the uroboros is one of the worst virus in Re IP for me. In dbd they clearly did well, it was a real surprise since i really did not care about him at all, great surprise, fun kit, but ultimatly, im not a fan of the character outside of dbd and i am not a huge fan of dashes either. Not bad at all still, he should be pretty high in my fun tier normally (plus the music is 👌).
But, my problem with Wesker is the complete, global, saturation (well done wesker, well done) and his reputation of being wholesome while all i have is miserable experience facing him (and that's a lot of experiences since i see him really often).
Theses two killers should be higher but i just can't like them currently, i have not much to say about the kits tho (wesker could use some minor uroboros nerf to prevent tunnel and maybe some CD nerf aswell since he has a very low recovery on his moves but that's pretty minor). Good killers but for now, i hate them.
