  • Replace noed with knockout.

Just wait in the basement imo. They'll come for that chest.

Hippity hoppity that chest is my property.

    Now you are too.

  • I'm a really, really merciful killer since I don't care about rank and I role play that my killer is resisting the entity. (Unless I am playing a killer that isn't being forced to participate ie ghostface, clown, soon deathslinger etc)

There are days where I'll put on the big boy perks and sweat it out, but most of the time I'm just a memelord. People just jump on hooks sometimes I don't know how to explain it.

  • I pick Deathslinger.

I am a trash Huntress. Outlaw has iron sights, no need for lockers, and with the black facial hair cosmetics he looks like me irl. (Full black beard when?)

People complain about no gen pressure but isn't that all killers though?

See that Claudette teabagging? Wanna shoot her in the face? Well, howdy partner.

  • Map size and swf are the only real things that need adjusted. For a game balanced around limited communication there has to be something to deal with it.

  • Its a reflex from pushing through ruin so much back in the day. I don't actively try but some games I'll get them all the time.

Thanks Ruin, you made me permanently more effective. You better not release a perk though that highlights your gen to the killer when you get greats though. That wouldn't be very nice.

  • Vocal minority. 100 killers could have fine games and then go back to their daily life after a night of slaying, but one or two may post on the forums.

I know it seems like a constant barrage, but killers and survivors have always been at each others throats. It's nothing new, only the subject headlines change.

  • I like using cruel limits but its range should be a lot bigger. On some maps there are generators in open areas with no vaults so when they're completed you get nothing for it.

The light got in and the entity doesn't like it. I better see some windows blocked.

I don't know man, as a rank 1 trapper main who never used old ruin and never have nor will use NOED unless I am GF or LEGION, I have to say that if you didn't get a 2k before the last gen pops you're doing something REALLY wrong... End Game Builds do not enter this specific comments, if you have an end game build even doors can open and they're not getting out.

So, based in what I just said, in my OPINION, if you don't have a single kill after the last gen popped you don't deserve to be in purple or red ranks... Again, this doesn't apply for end game builders, Legion, Clown or Bubba.

    I'm agreeing with ya friend.

  • I really think the entity should complain about it like it does in the tutorial. Is it a playstyle? Sure. Is it setting killers up to fail? Yes.

  • Nah. Just raw points. Back in the day you just needed points to pip and while I accept all these bells and whistles to get my good boy pip nowadays in my head I just like the original way.

  • I'm the odd one out (as usual) as long as I get 10k points survivor side or 20k killer side I consider that my mental pip.

If I'm doing memes if I set a mini goal and accomplish it I automatically win the match. gg ez.

  • I hate huntress. Not only can she snipe you from across the map, her lullaby gets stuck in your head even if you're facing a different killer so...yeah.

I love Nurse, I learned how to play against her back when she was common and powerful, so nowadays it's my easiest (and rarest) opponent.

  • It's being farmed by another survivor but its a bad habit to get into, hitting the freshly unhooked.

Higher ranks people run borrowed time. You'll end up giving the rescued a sprint burst and while you wipe your weapon both of them are going to dart off to a pallet or window.

That said if you don't have borrowed time and you unhook me with the killer a centimeter behind you, you are worse than Satan.

  • I love the piano but I kinda wish they'd added a jukebox killers and survivors could interact with so everyone could fight over the music playing.

  • I liked the hot topic vampire thing the forum had going on. This ones more professional sure but it's a video game forum so...ya.

  • Probably the healing nerf. When I started playing Huntress was coming out soon so not only was nurse everywhere everyone and their mother ran nurses calling.

Over time nurses is rarer and healing takes longer. So you just finish your gen before patching yourself up.

Used to be a lot riskier even if it was faster.

  • In today's cultural climate someone has been offended so now you must publicly apologize for some reason.

You have to manually check every single survivor main before you can have a blanket opinion otherwise everyone is offended.

Did you know if you bind flashlight to mouse wheel you become empowered with all of the knowledge and experience of all survivor mains past future and present?

Become like the entity. Absorb the survivors.

I try to do most of that. I suck really bad at looping though. Great at stealth. I don't mean the hide all match stealth. I just tend to be able to avoid the killer more often than not.

Unhooks. Get Borrowed Time and focus on unhooks. You are now the only person allowed to unhook people in every game for the rest of your life.

Be on a gen, going for that unhook or in a chase. Enjoy Rank 1.

  • Adept Oni took me like 3 days to get (about 12 hours playtime) it's not one of the easier ones.

    Hang in there.

  • If you trap a survivor in a corner you can hold him at gunpoint until his friends come out and surrender.

I try to play a wide variety of killers, and I'll pick and choose whatever addons I feel like. Sometimes like with Mikey, I'll swap between several loadouts on a killer depending on my mood. I tend to stay away from the stuff thats REALLY OP though, which is why I have an ever growing stock of moris and iri hatchets. The day that I decide to actually start using addons on Plague...

I digress though, typically if I do well at keeping the pressure up... I seem to get people who felt like I tunneled them...as in the entire team...at the same time. Earlier I was accused of camping and tunneling as Legion because I dared to chase and down 2 teammates who were in the same general area of the hooked survivor. 4k with only 1 gen done that game.

Heres an example of someone who didnt like my gen pressure on a pretty normal looking Myers build...

Hmmmmm.... Doctor Heartbound shall try and diagnose this malady!

Most of the time nowadays I use Discordance or Monitor and Abuse to find the first person and knock the socks off of them in the first forty seconds. (Your mileage may vary depending on the strength of the survivor, but I can make this strategy work up to low red/high purple.)

When they're hooked I usually use a tracking perk like BBQ to find the next person. If they don't notice me I'll gen grab, if they do notice me I'll lock them against the side of the map and follow them from the middle without engaging loops (Unless they REALLY stick to a loop, which is rare. They'll panic) You may be able to bap someone else walking by doing this.

If Discordance doesn't light up now you just have to deal with that corner loop they ran to instead of all the loops in the middle. First guy usually gets rescued. Tap W in quick succession so your movement is weird. Maybe peek from behind a rock. You should get some friendly teabags.

Beat them senseless then hook. Also it might be beneficial to eliminate the 4 middle tiles on the edge to create guaranteed dead zones to cut chases down later in the map.

If I'm trapper I'll place traps in the stronger areas still up so it's Deadzone trap deadzone trap etc.

You should be down to about 2 gens now and all their defenses are gone. Just mop up and keep them off generators and I've rarely had a complaint. I like using things like cruel limits though. Nobody likes Trapper shoving them into a window they thought they were going to use and shoving his crotch into their face.

Don't hit immediately. Let them absorb just how bad they failed. Same if they're in a trap. Stare and nod. Good boy/girl. You like to struggle don't you?

Then just hang everyone up to dry. Depending on gen speed you may have less time for memes, but it's much easier to goof around after the first person bites it.

Also I usually let the first person I catch live on purpose because if they play poorly I use them as bait to draw out the stronger survivors and kill them first. Doesn't matter how good they are if the pallets all got chewed up by my weak link buddy.

I dunno. I play weird. I see people always going from loop to loop, from pallet to pallet.

Trap up god loops, or use your power to benefit from them. Bring the chonky add ons if you're having a bad night.

Maybe this helped? They don't complain much, and the ones that might probably left right after they got sacrificed.

  • Oh god. I swear the egos of high ranks. My secret is I'm a rank 1 survivor and a low rank killer. I'm always having fun. Every time I feel like playing hard killer side this song comes to mind.

Im so use to getting hatemail for existing on the same map as survivors that Ive taken to saving the best ones in a folder so I can share em later.

You and a lot of other people sadly from what I can tell.

I'm a bit of a memelord most of the time so I really don't aim for efficiency. Sometimes when a survivor tries to loop I'll just stare him down until he walks to me and accepts his death etc.

I stopped saving fun screenshots unfortunately but I hold on to some of those and more when I'm having a bad day as killer. It'll get better. Group hug.

(I'm not name shaming and these are old so I don't feel like editing them to hide names they probably don't even use anymore)

    I still don't play a ton, but everyone always seems to love me. I hate seeing sad survivors ;-;

    Maybe yer just mean ;P

  • OP survivors are a myth. You either do gens or you don't.

Someone can be the best runner and nail every tile, but if no gens are done it's worthless and now the map has no pallets.

Survivor is hold M1 to win.

Killer is press M1 to win.

Kate has the most interesting lore, since she was famous and had bassicaly everything she wanted

Dwight is just a nerd that sold pizzas

    also

@Heartboundpretty sure they are famous because they are free

Maybe. I think the real takeaway from this game is simple.

Don't have any disagreements with your parents or try to be the odd one out or a spider monster will kidnap you and make you suffer for all eternity as it sucks out your hope.

  • I just hit 900 hours and have almost every achievement, it's easier just to list what I don't have.

Man behind the bush: I need 50 more stalk level ups

Taking one for the team: I need 30 smacks

Skilled Huntress: I need 18 more downs

Not Today: 37 more self unhooks

    Dismantle: 30 more hook breaks

    Wounded Healer: 4 more heals

    Cutting Out: 2 more wiggles

Silent Approach: 3 more generator grabs

Totally Vulnerable: 7 more marked downs

    Bloodbath: 11 more berserk downs

    Bodyguard: 20 more bodyblocks

There's the Where did they go achievement but I don't count it. After that sans new achievements I beat the game.

  • I think they're just trying to make relatable characters so people will play them. The thing is if you see a really strong horse and an emaciated weak horse, which one are you going to saddle up with?

I get it, at the end of the days survivors are victims in a literal sense. They're supposed to be weak, but then you have survivors like Dwight and Meg. What are their weaknesses? Just not being popular? Moving home to take care of her family? No wonder they're so popular.

    Just saying.

  • I think Leatherface needs a smaller terror radius, add ons that do something for his kit (he doesn't even have any ultra rares iirc, really. Outside of spark plug they're kinda lame)

I'd go a step further and have Leatherface interact with lockers or a new interactable that lets him temporarily equip corpse parts for different temporary buffs. (One for speed, one for stun resist, etc, but they fall off after like, 2 minutes.)

For a game that got its inspiration from Leatherface's meat hooks they sure don't seem to like him very much.

  • Campus Sunnies for Dwight. They make him look confident and it makes me feel good.

  • @Creyph said:

Clown. Though with current game times does trapper have enough time to actually set up enough traps to matter?

Not really. If you spend the early game setting up in the classic spots you lose a lot of generators. You kinda have to play it touch and go.

  • I like how being hit by a harpoon affects the survivor's immune system and makes them immune to further hits. You just have to make sure the killer can't get close to you.

  • They could put breakable walls next to that one window at the very corner of the map that is nigh useless for survivors.

You know the one. Make it even MORE useless! Just a window, one good wall and one broken wall.

Mis quoted the top comment here.

In reply to Heartbound. Why do we only have Survivors who think there's an app to get off the hook?

Older Survivors wouldn't be a bad idea for the game. People of any age can have arthritis or whatever. Characters have begun to lose their uniqueness recently and a lot of us aren't anywhere near sold by the backstory.

I thought BHVR were ramping up the lore but it just feels the exact same over and over again recycled to sell the "youthful and good looking" survivors.

Where is Grandma Dierdre or any other old characters, original or licenced it has been getting really boring getting the same style over and over again.

I'm legit with you. When I'm playing killer I do mock the survivors via their storyline. Social Justice Ms Jane? Not today! You want to study plants Claudette? Here's a faceplant! Etc etc.

I legit and unironically support a granny survivor. Muriel from courage the cowardly dog style. Shes been mutilated multiple times and gives no darns.

  • I'm on 28 iirc. I'm really busy so I don't get to play as much as I want to. Gonna boot up the game tonight though and chew my way to the gold coin though.

    Then its lore time

    Then, I sleep.

That's true enough, sometimes criticism is good, but not the ones I was involved with. You also mentioned Artwork?

Its probably against forum rules to make advertisements for my work but ya know what I'm a risk taker.

Check out Stevian Heartbound. I'm an author with a few books out and a few paintings done.

But you know Dead by Daylight does like adding licensed characters. If they ever look at books I'd be willing to add two of my characters to their roster. I'd make them available for iri shards though.

I play the game too. So I know for sure I'd give them a great setup.

But it's a secret. I'm just a dummy memelord goofing off on the forums shhhh ;)

  • It's all good. We're all a bunch of goofballs that enjoy the same game. I look at all the complaints on the forums and I think that's fantastic. People care enough about this game to criticize it over the slightest detail.

I would kill to have people criticize my artwork to this degree, because it means they're interested in it. Do you think a lot of people criticized Deathgarden? No. Its dead for the same reason. No one cared.

Sure it gives me an excuse to be a memelord and I'm probably never gonna get that trusted tag, but we're all playing together.

Do that 360 before hitting that survivor. Crouch beside the killer trying to break the pallet and watch him be super confused.

But most importantly, have lots of fun.

  • It probably will. You've got a solid concept and a lot of big name horror titles.

Will it likely get a whole lot different? Very much yes.

Will people still fall in trappers traps on groaning storehouse?

    Always.

  • Clown better Kool Aid man his way through walls and say "ta daaaaaa"

  • @ProfoundEnding said:

And yet still no old lady. 99% of our female roster is under 30. What happened to diversity?

I know right? Where's our blonde bimbo that moans when she gets hooked?

When is David Hasselhoff going to become a killer and chase people down to the Baywatch theme? I need answers.

    Also a cold shower.

  • Good attitude friend. You'll probably noticing me poking the beehive occasionally for the same reason.

Games evolve. The games I grew up with are all different now. To expect this one to stay the same forever isn't realistic.

Who knows, in 10 years we may have 50 survivors and 50 killers and I can't even imagine what it'll look like.

  • Dude Myers had no body for some reason so just imagine hillbilly chainsaw power with just the shapes mask coming at you with no terror radius.

I haven't seen diaper changing like that for a long time. Kool aid man wraith might do that soon though.

"Oh we're safe. Lets do this gen."

    *wall shatters nearly instantly.*

    BING BONG YOU WERE WRONG

  • Adam will never get new cosmetics, Satan told me so directly while laughing heartily.

  • You have to remember in any game the forum is a vocal minority. Due to the way this game splits roles it becomes very Alliance vs. horde real quick.

I've never noticed increased queue times for survivor or killer and if you accept the roles for what they are a lot of changes aren't a big deal. When you play killer and only killer you never see how other people playing that exact same killer play. You stagnate. You need to play survivor to be a better killer and you need to play killer to be a better survivor. That's just a hard core truth.

Trapper is my p3 so I'm happy for anything he gets, but ruin always popped quick so I think any effect it had was highly placebo unless the hex never got broken. Just my two cents.

  • Yes. I judge everyone relentlessly. That sounds bad but I don't mean it that way.

Its not unusual for me to stay in the killers terror radius and see how they're playing. Do they check lockers? Do they break chase quick? Etc etc.

Why does this trapper place traps there? Did it work? Hm. Hm. Interesting. I may use that.

Survivors seem to like taking that path. Hmm. I'll take note of that when I play killer next on this map.

I'm not a perfect player by any means but I definitely judge players. I especially judge people that don't play the game properly. Sure you may get a kill or escape, but if you only get 10k points in your role then why queue up in the first place.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don’t think some survivor mains are going to be happy with this but this is honestly a great new feature for killers. It seems like it will give them more breathing room at spots where it’s very difficult to catch a survivor. It gives the killer more power over the environment and I’m loving it. Let them cry, they don’t like it when killers actually get something good.

I play both sides but skew survivor. This might help survivors. If a killer is facing a wall they're breaking line of sight and opening up new and exciting ways to catch a flashlight to the face.

You can also crouch around the rubble and break line of sight in places you couldn't before. Killers don't have time to check every single little spot.

Plus I don't think every killer is going to run brutal strength. When a killer breaks a pallet you generally just run to the next set piece. This'll be the same thing but you'll be able to keep the pallet for later and use the broken area for a shorter loop.

Also you can see the killers red glow through a wall. Unless its scratched mirror Myers or super invisible pallet eater wraith you generally know what the killer is doing.

My question is, is the entity getting weaker or stronger? Blocking windows looked like the entity was getting stronger, having killers wreck the entitys level looks like its getting weaker.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmm
