Is this game even horror? Since some people literally have no fear. It's just people running the killer around walls literally. This game used to be more scary.
Kinda my point it’s turned into a weird horror themed action game where you hit half circles watching a bar load or you chase someone you have to sweat to catch and if you do it’s not over til you hook em 3 times so either put the scare back in it or just say it’s an action game lol

If hillbilly was a survivor, devs would have changed him immediately.
No If he was a survivor the next survivor would give him the ability to chainsaw through walls and negate obstacle collision

Just an idea...
How bout we Revert his Basekit nerf.. back to his old powers. Eh? =D
I literally stopped playing hillbilly and leather face because of their obscene reworks that did not need to happen legion needs one before them or trapper

Get rid of hex perks not make more, they’re trouble as is we need a different side objective like why can’t there just be like a ritual ground where if killer or survivor performs the ritual before the other they get a permanent buff til trial ends making survivors and killers pause main objectives like if survivors want it make all survivors currently alive go do the ritual if they complete it they get a faster vault speed if killer gets it they get a faster move speed.

@CornHub said:
Better idea, they should remove hooks entirely & killers have to slug to win.
Ok but downed survivors bleed out 5 times faster or are immediately Mori

Please, I don't like to have to keep saying this over and over. Making the survivor META even smaller than it already is, is NOT a good idea.
They have to nerf strong perks to rotate out perks in and out of meta, look at league very comparable here I honestly think DBD can learn a lot from them. Example nerfing and buffing perks based on usage needing and buffing items based on usage, also I think giving the option for one survivor to ban one killer perk and killers to ban 4 survivor perks would immensely help so nobody has to go against a perk or build that’s too meta since a lot of the perks now seem to either stack or create too many opportunities on both sides.
-
the only reason I said adrenaline and end game perks is because when you’re just trying to kill one person and they all 4 have adrenaline and being a non toxic killer not brining NOED or they destroy all full totems it’s makes you feel like you did something wrong in the game when you didn’t you can’t control the game it’s all about wether or not survivors make mistakes and if they don’t make those mistakes or have those mistakes forgiven it makes balancing a nightmare. As well as giving a status complex where survivors can feel like since I used dead hard, iron will, soul guard, DS I should get to love if I don’t make it out the killer camped tunneled and made the game unplayable for me...punishing mistakes is a lot harder now and the more they go unpunished the more normal it becomes to escape those parts where they should’ve died, promoting an entitled attitude toward surviving, kinda like how Moris promoted entitled 4k for killers. I would listen to my friend flame killers and solo survivors when they caused her to die or didn’t save her because the game was subliminally telling her she should’ve lived.

It’s just annoying that hex perks which are not that strong or viable now can be deleted before killer has a chance to use em and build them up but survivors will always have theirs until they decide to use them. That’s my main issue and if you take undying that’s another perk destroyed just to potentially buy another couple min of a perk that could help if it’s not immediately destroyed I went from 20-17 in less than 8 games and won every game
I used to be in purple ranks with my SWF friend group when plague was added I think because I switched from Ps4 to pc and never got fully back into survivor I just play it drunk bc it’s easy to do with friends while drunk screaming

1) You said yourself, you are a Rank 20 survivor because you don't play much anymore, but still play a lot killer. Rank 20 is not the norm for balance. Of course it is easy to vs a true rank 20 killer with your knowledge. Not a surprise.
2) Yes there are many 2nd Chance perks, but a lot of them work only once (Adre, Deliverance etc) or are not very viable because of their restrictions (MoM, Soul Guard etc). There should be some adjustments to some of them though: f.e. DH or Adrenaline. They don't need to be tied to godpallets.
3) Spine Chill and Premonition just should not work against an Undetectable killer, like it was with an EWI Myers.
It’s just annoying that hex perks which are not that strong or viable now can be deleted before killer has a chance to use em and build them up but survivors will always have theirs until they decide to use them. Spine chill is fine. Not many people use it and it doesnt tell the survivor where the killer exactly is. I personally think this whole it needs a nerf thing is dramatic.
It’s a stronger version of a killer perk called whispers, why should a perk that has 4 times the usability not be needed to be less stronger than a perk that accounts for a perk slot of someone that’s supposed to be stronger than you. I will never get why survivors think they’re so underpowered there’s streamers and content creators who show you guys how easy survivor is and how hard it is to micro manage every single step survivors make vs survivors just holding down shift and bee lining to a window, pallet, or jungle gym. Crouching is just something to hide in a loop from projectiles...and the nurse is now trash a killer I took time and research into playing for nerfed because when she’s good she’s good but bad she loses now she’s bad she loses harder when she’s good at best can 3k. For 16 perks brought into a game a lot of them are a lot stronger than they need to be compared to the four a killer has how fair would it be if a killer kicked one gen that 4 of your dead yards couldn’t be used the rest of the game? Like seriously “bring undying” that’s another perk slot for a perk that can’t be destroyed versus one that can be since survivors memorize where hex totems spawn, atleast they don’t spawn in the killer shack anymore of wait THEY DO.
-
But like I said I’m done with DBD no point in continuing if I don’t like what’s available I’ll make my own. At the least it will give competition and can improve what DBD refuses to fix. So go stun a killer, destroy a hex, and wait for your ai killers in the new survive by daylight.
p.s. Rest In Peace death garden the game who’s potential was never realized...
-
Then you play killer to rank 8 and tell me the kinds of survivors you see and encounter because I don’t believe you’ve ever played against a SWF that had more than two brain cells all together, the devs never planned on communication between survivors and it’s not been healthy ever since but if they nerf it people are gonna quit and not buy their 10 dollar skins. Go ahead and just play your role of looping looking for red stain while your team focuses gens you’ve must have not had good teammates if you’ve never had a game like the ones I’ve had on killer and survivor side it’s not hard and never will be. As soon as killers will be buffed or game will be extended better believe survivors will get an extra 3 assist game mechanics to help the devs even said with pig and her power they don’t think survivors can keep up with two timers therefore disabled the traps at end game. If that doesn’t tell you the extent of trust the devs have in survivors game play without crutches idk what will otherwise they would’ve let pig be and not completely ruin her end game.
-
and your thinking is fundamentally wrong one survivor per gen at the same time so in 80 second 3 gens can pop so it could be even less than I previously stated. Then they just need 2 more gens another 80 seconds to pop all while only one survivor is looping.
-
no that just saying one survivor stay with me ok, is being chase.....one survivor being chased....3*80=240, one survivor per gen that is a minute and a half chase assuming the killer found the survivor at the start of the game but by a min and a half 3 gens should be popped. Lets say the survivor has dead hard and loops another minute (1 minute) total time now is 2 and 1/2 minutes gets hooked last 2 gens gets popped by 3 survivors. Gates are opened 3 of the survivors rush hook unhook the looper and game over easy 4 man escape its not that hard to understand.
-
also I just saw that the game suffered a 9 thousand player loss in September of last year so I am just uninstalling so I do not have to see one of my beloved franchises ruined by these developers. When they fix their game I will come back until them I will just be programming my own as a student project.
-
well either way I just saw to complete 5 gens takes 400 seconds which at most is 7 minutes so theoretically a game should be no longer than 8 min if survivors know what they are doing.
-
it would take average 2-5 minutes I think we can agree if a normal killer is chasing you to get a first hit or down if they sneaked a first hit. multiply that by 8 for each survivor thinking they are just lined up to take hits and loop that is a minimum 16 minutes how long does it take to do 5 gens? definitely not 16 minutes, so yes if you have deliverance and I go away to check gens I now have to go back find you while three gens pop and two more are worked on while I chase you. Worst case you die three escape if I do not chase you I chase a full health survivor for another 4 min at least which gives enough time to work the last three gens. lose, lose.
-
Heres the problem with those you just listed lets say I am playing (insert whatever killer here) and I take ruin and undying, thats two perk slots, noed thats 3 that can all be destroyed. What can I do as killer when I am protecting 3 hexes, 5 gens, while chasing one survivor for 4-7 minutes (assuming they know loops like any survivor past rank 16). Why am I not allowed to destroy one of 16 of their perks but they can now destroy 75% of mine. Leaving me one perk also noed is easily taken out because most players with brains assume NOED is on and cleanse the 5 dulls to ensure its not going to be used. If it is usable great so I am assuming that the end game is now inevitable no matter how I play because that is fair? This is why killers tunnel, camp, and proxy because when we play fair we get screwed for doing good. I have never taken spirit fury its useless I have to let myself be stunned waste time just for the one pallet to break out of the 20 on the map great value. While the time it does work the survivor just has a friend come and blind me or body blocks the hook with all three of them so I can not hook them.

yeah okay i’ll just accept the fact i get phased on by a spirit and there’s no counterplay to do. shut up spirit main
I love the elusive survivor main when they get a taste of what killers deal with on a game to game basis they salt and cry but when killers complain "We want free 4k, survivors unplayable, no skill games". Go on try to deny you use perks like dead hard, borrowed time, ds, spine chill, soul guard, unbreakable, head on...ill wait...while the one killer we have who requires some sort of brain capacity to kill efficiently gets nerfed into the ground because you made a post on the forum
-
honestly its just as hard this is how the game used to be played, You have to find survivors. Now although they just run around because why should they not? I mean what is honestly hard about survivor that any of the proposed changes are giving free 4k's, did you play at launch because you have not seen free 4k if you did not the roles flipped way to fast with no balance. State you issue rather than general accusations.
-
basically put survivors back to being stealthy you cant crouch and not be found? You want an action game with chase scenes you win and easy skill checks go play re:6, oh wait this is turning into re:6
-
its not failing skill checks its putting the skill back into skill checks in 2016 on release yea it worked got players introduced to gens but its obvious players do not have trouble hitting them now even with killer perks that shorten them. And I say to you "you could have just said my 6 built in tools and 4 perks and 3 lives are not enough for me to escape and I need more help"
-
deliverance is a second chance perk, under normal circumstances if the team values gens over you, you die. That was how it was before saw DLC. I had that happen to me many times but it was my fault for being caught out but enough survivors complained about 3 man SWF's leaving them to die they put it in and it gives you a second chance with out other survivors having to come and get you.
You have 6 tools when the killer has two built into the game red stain, terror radius, infinites, jungle gyms, pallets, pallet loops, second floors if you cannot survive with all of those are you really playing the game they hold your hand because as you are proving you cannot develop your own skill to mind trick the killer or stay stealthy enough to survive.
When I first played the game in 2016 as survivor we used to yell at each other for leaving scratch marks but now you can run anywhere anytime no problem. Your points about nurse and spirit are not that major the nurse was untouched for at least 3-4 years after her nerf shortly after release because she was balanced if you are good you are good you are bad you get punished I had to play her to prestige 3 to be able to get reliable 4k that is when I was not placed with ranks 1-4 who knew how to counter her. I mean should we just change the name to survive by daylight and add in an AI killer so everyone can escape every game and not cry or be salty that the killer is stronger than 4 survivors with 16 perks combined?
-
So as a 5 year player for killer main and dabble in survivor when my friends want to play SWF.
1.) I cannot believe they did this but the mori nerf
2.) the inclusion of more pallets under the assumption they're "unsafe"
3.) 2/3 of the killer perks are unusable because gen speeds have been a problem since 2017 once survivors started to learn skill checks and how to 360 their camera while working on gens.
4.) infinite loops; just infinite loops why...who thought of this?
5.) Including the effective replacement of exhaustion perks with second chance perks. Before we only had lithe, sprint burst, dead hard, and balanced landing and used vigil to regen our exhaustion while running to use them again rather than get a full on second life.
6.) Size of the maps with the abundance of gens available to work on, and the skewing of maps to be "Survivor" or "Killer" sided. When each wall basically has a window, or pallet attached to it and most are tall enough to block projectiles.
7.) The amount of notifications a survivor gets about the killer from red stain to terror radius gives too much tools to plan rather than play in the moment.
8.) Few perks and abilities actually work in the basement now so that basement builds are null and void because of the fact only a few killers can utilize it which also takes away a perk offered without being a teachable monstrous shrine which refers to point 3.
9.) The SWF coms have not been addressed or even attempted to be balanced, constant live feed to the team while the killer has only himself to rely on and detection perks do not compare to live coms communicating his location and actions. This is made even worse with SWF using Object on one of them broad casting from a distance where and what the killer is doing.
10.) Hex totems are the most problematic thing to be added to DBD yes they can be clutch but over night every survivor learned the spawn locations and devs refuse to make these permeant perks because killers having strong perks makes it unfair for you but when we spend 5 min chasing you for one more hit for a down and you stab us stunning us and running away AGAIN...that's ok its balanced.
11.) Keys, why do survivors need a get out of trial free card. The killer can play perfectly not tunneling, camping, or slugging and the survivors can still 4 man escape with gens still to work on or not. Even if the hatch is closed can still be opened with a key.
12.) Killers are supposed to be faster but still take 2-3 min to make one hit if not able to make a surprise hit but with all the alerts a survivor has now red stain, terror radius, alert, spine chill, kindred. Its very hard.
13.) Unlike survivors who do not have locked perks to their survivor killers have locked abilities. So some killers are straight up not playable if you want to win, if you do win with them you sweat really hard then hear from survivors about how trash campy tryhard sweaty and other things they say if they lose a game the devs created for them to win.
If you think playing killer is easier than survivor or survivor is hard, you are just not on the level the rest of us are at. Using the 6 tools that are not perks given to you and still not winning you have other things you need to learn than complaining about camping killers here or anything. We camp because the game forces us to kill one survivor ASAP so gens do not pop faster than cranking a jack in the box. If the devs buffed killer side it would make both sides feel more relaxed and open up more builds than second chances and gen rush.
-
Unless behavior changes the core gameplay I doubt this will make it in. The game is much more unforgiving than DBD. DBD holds your hand and gives you an abundance of resources to use where in outlast you can only run and hide, not run, hide, stun, blind, loop, 360, ds you get the idea. Good suggestion though but hard to see it.
-
This perk is in my top tier of perks, It works better than exhaustion because it relies on you knowing killer position and not being caught rather than thinking you are going to be caught it helps to negate a core part of the game take it with spine chill on gens and you can crawl to an object loop it while killer looks around not leaving scratch marks and bam the killer leaves or if he does not you leave using the environment as cover to go and work on another gen. The most frustrated killer is one who cannot even find a survivor, therefore not knowing what gens are being completed.
-
So here's how to counter a nurse for the new people, when you see the fist run to the fist. After she misses her blink crouch in the environment behind something since she cannot see or blind her coming out of her fatigue. Its not hard she relies on tracking taking iron will also will help but any survivor over rank 15 knows to take that as a mainstay so you can lose killers if needed.

Like I said, it's too situational.
The number of times you've encounter Spine Chill as Myers or Ghostface probably compare to how often you're actually able to stalk without being seen anyway, which is pretty low.
You corner your prey so that they can't break LoS, because survivors can see everything in third person.
when i play SWF with my friends we run this all the time and get away with gens in terror radius we otherwise should not and also bully wraiths GF myers spirit and any other killer really because we can just urban away unless its the doctor and make em think we left because of terror radius while we are just stalking him waiting for him to go to another gen go in and complete it. So easy especially since gens only take 30 seconds with two people and two on each gen we pop two gens in the first 30 seconds send someone to chase pop the next two bc we use spine chill as bond so we know when the looper is near us bc spine chill goes off hop on another gen finish that go back and boom game over
-
get rid of grabs add movement speed to killers please, I am barely ever able to land a successful grab when I want to but when I lunge sometimes I grab its just as frustrating for killers as survivors
-
I have actually made a chapter adopting corpse party to this game, I can link it if you want it contains a killer, survivor, map. This one also switched up the gameplay with a hide and seek ability to take the trial periodically and generate a new map pallets and loops to keep things ever changing so nobody feels safe and everything is unkown at all points of the trial. Each time the map is changed a gen is added until if it does get to the point will cap at 5 gens. This elongates the game as well as adds interesting new gameplay and puts an uneasy feeling back into DBD.
-
Honestly same I feel like the game has MPD it does not know if its horror, with tense atmosphere and choices and consequences or just an action game with quick time events and chase scenes. I just want a more definitive playstyle if you want a horror game take the action elements out if you want an action game take the licensed horror icons out. These killers would never be bested like this in their respected franchises. It just does not make sense anymore. I want this game to succeed and hang around but the player base is showing that something is not resonating with streamers and common players alike.

REWORKED RUIN (Assuming ruin became an in game mechanic)
The entity has taken pleasure in your offerings of the lives of the survivors and wishes to lend you a hand for all hex totems still on the map after you hook each survivor once the remaining (1,2,3) hex totems now become protected by the entity until the end game collapse has started. Once this perk activates the effects remain while the perk is randomly changed to a new perk.
"The entity looks upon my devotion and rewards me for my efforts. I shall hunt for the pleasure of the entity, and provide a show worth watching."
REWORKED DEJAVU
You have been through hell and back, too many times to count; been killed too many times to remember. This engraves you to have a better sense of what is going on around you. Generators now show progression from 16/20/30 meters away.
"I know what a completed gen looks like, you think this is my first time in hell?"
New Killer Perk
Game Changer
When near a pallet you can destroy it before its dropped. This effect has a cooldown of 30/25/20 seconds.
"They think you can not learn new tricks, they shall pay for their incompetence."
New Survivor Perk
I'll try my best
You are the new guy on the block, you got to earn a reputation. After being healed and completing a generator, after unhooking a survivor they are granted adrenaline regardless of the exit gates being powered.
"I have to show these guys, that I am not dead weight."
-
the map could be a variation of silent hills like how nurse and clowns are
-
it was originally a videogame then they made an anime out of it its very horror centric and gory id give it a watch if you can find it! thanks as well i think this would help games be longer and add more twists to otherwise sorta linear gameplay. the perks would be great for other builds as well!
-
i would say maybe their ankles then?
