  • Knockout. Its horrible to go against in soloQ.

  • I got bored of 2v8 because every match was huntress and something else.( I'm guilty of this as well since i was mostly playing huntress or nurse ) Pretty much 99% matches was huntress. I hope if and when they bring this mode back they put more killers in. Hopefully at least all the none licensed ones.

I don't miss the feeling of playing killer in 1v4. I stopped playing killer for almost a year and only played survivor due to the toxicity and stress i got from playing killer.

2v8 brought back my love playing killer, but im afraid 1v4 is going to take it away again. All im going to be seeing is the same 4 perks and map offerings to badham and eyrie.

In a 2 people with 2 gens left and a Spirit with gens relatively close? Neither of them tried to make a play and unless they could loop a good spirit for 180+ seconds then theres no point. I play altruistically often but in this scenario its just up to if you want to sacrifice yourself by doing a gen or not

In that scenario i would try to finish the gen. If i die i die. I rather end the game in few minutes for all than hide in corners for 1 hour. My time is precious and so is the killers and in the end this is a game.

This would be relevant if the survivors win condition was the TEAM winning. Its not however, its your own escape that matters. So prioritizing your survival over doing gens is all there is left to do.

I would hate to have you as teammate..

The survivors didn't hold anything hostage, they had literally nothing to do with no objective. The problem isn't survivors needing to be punished for not just allowing the killer to kill them, they need to find a way to make survivors able to win. Genuinely there was no point, hard camping a 4 gen as spirit on midwich left the final two with no options but to hide and hope the other died it all boils down to "These survivors should've let me kill them!"

Why should the survivors be entitled for a win after going against a stronger opponent and technically losing if you are too scared to even try finishing a gen at that point ?

If survivors 3 gen themselfs thats in most cases on them. Sure sometimes killer can push it on the survivors, but it's quite easy to tell when killer is trying to 3 gen you.

No survivor should be allowed to rat out in corners and lockers just because they might die going on a gen. Killers playtime is precious too. Not all want to be stuck 1 hour in a match and no one should be forced to take DC penalty for ratty survivors. "Just finding them" isn't that easy eather especially in bigger maps.

Just go do the gen and die trying, does it really matter if you die and go to the next? Ive been in situations as a survivor where theres 2 survivors left and things didn't look good but i never ratted in corners for a hatch.

  • Behaviour has to put in a system that stops hiding survivors. I've had this happen multiple times when the last 2 petty survivors start hiding instead of doing gens. Quite often this happens on the larger maps like red forest weirdly enough.

I think its just out of spite and pettyness when survivors start hiding and trying to get match end when servers shut down, and this shouldnt be allowed.

Like many people have said maybe implement AFK crows after 5 minutes of not doing X amount of gens or something.

Also bodyblocking survivor to a corner shouldn't be a thing. Incase this happens same thing should happen that after X minutes of bodyblocking the survivor can go through the killer.

I am also in favor of making bleedout timer 2 minutes instead of 4. Nobody likes a slugging killer if its done on purpose and not even trying to hook anyone.

  • Since nurse is already included theres no reason why the rest of the originals couldnt be too.

  • If you have 0 hooks on you i think your aura gets revealed when gens get done.

Even more reason to keep the endgame chat off. If they add the stupid jumpscares ill just get another killer like skully where i say…gg next.

  • It even censors names sometimes. Words like GGs get censored as well depending if the program is having a bad day. I agree that there should be a button to undo the censorship if you want, just like many other games do.

To be fair, if there are 75 things that can cause aura reading, and any single aura reading is enough to turn Nurse from an S tier to an S+ Tier killer, demanding more than 4 perks (yes 4, because all survivors need one) to counter them all is insane.

At the very least, blinding is a basekit mechanic since you can find items in chests, and it can mostly be avoided (except for flashbang, but thats a perk) by looking towards any wall. Aura reading isnt a basekit mechanic, with no genuine basekit counter. You used to be able to hide behind gens, but then they made generator aura's partially transparant.

And just look at 2v8, the billion aura readings is one of the biggest problems with it, since there is genuinely no way to avoid it. Aura readings are very powerful, there is a reason why back in the day there were only 3 viable aura reading perks, and 1 technically not being an aura reading perk (Bitter Murmur). Right now, almost all aura readings are viable on their own, which is fine, but they dont have limitations. The strength of the aura perk relies on ease of use and range more than duration and cooldown (to a point ofc, like, 50 seconds of aura read would be worth kicking 10 generators). And 95% of aura addons and perks require little to no work while giving quite a massive value at almost unlimited range.

The most problematic ones being Lethal Pursuer(you literally do nothing), Nowhere to Hide(you literally just kick a gen that arguably needed kicking anyway), Floods of Rage (you literally do nothing), Weave Attunement (since its unlimited time). But even perks like Gearhead, Darkness Revealed and Bitter Murmur are issues, because they can be combined with something else too.

So either a basekit mechanic gets to be that survivors get a warning that their aura's are being shown, which heavily nerfs a lot of addons and most perks too, or the perks all need higher restrictions and maybe even exclusivity in the sense that you cannot have more than 1 aura perk active on any survivor for X amount of time. Like, lets say 1 aura effect gives a survivor 20 seconds of aura immunity once that read ends. It still makes a lot of aura perks viable together, but it wont be that a Nurse can use Gearhead to find people super easily after a down so she basically has 30 seconds of aura reading, then get close and use Nowhere to Hide, then use Floods of Rage because that person got unhooked on a scourge, and Lethal Pursuer to basically give her 100% aura duration

Just because Nurse is a problem doesnt mean distortion isnt a problem. Because of 1 killer rest of the killers shouldnt suffer no?

How often do you see full aura reading builds anyways? Most common killers i see rocking aura readings are nurse and huntress, and even then they usually have 1-2 gen defense perks or some form of slowdown.

Full 4 aura reading builds means the killer has no gen defense and 4 survivors should be able to do gens pretty damn fast. No where to hide is easy to regonize if the killer has it. If the killer straight lines at you after kicking a gen you learn she or he has that perk and next time don't hide near the gen. Weave attunement is only strong with franklins and even then there is counterplay … but sadly survivors never use this counterplay.

Most times you will only see 1 or 2 aura readings on killers. 4 aura readings on huntress usually means they like to snipe and do long shots and why would anyone hate a huntress whos that good to be able to pull those?

Also again i like to remind my hate towards distortion is purely because people using that perk tend to be selfish. They hide and won't take chase even if they have 0 hooks and death hooked person is getting killed. Multiple times i have been left to die on hook while people hide in corners. I wish i could say this is broken MMR problem but more and more even 4000 hour players are playing as selfishly as possibly not caring about anyone, and using builds to go with that playstyle hurts teammates and killers. I don't care if you want to urban evase all match but i don't think its fair that 1 perks allows you to hide from the killer while rest of us die.

You are right distortion got counterplay while lightborn got none. Why don’t we nerf lightborn then. By the way it counters all blind builds to 100% while distortion can run out of stacks.

The only thing that would be fair for distortion is a slower recharge.

I have never used lightborn, so nerf it if it bothers you that much that it counters flashies and few silly perks.

Distortion counters… 23 perks i counted in my head might be wrong.. might even be more, and it counters at least the same if not more addons probably more. You call that a healthy perk while you can easily get tokens back just by hiding in terror radius?

I'm also a survivor main and i see what damage distortion Andies do in soloQ.

”1 perk shouldn’t have the power to counter so many perks and add ons.” See lightborn, see Franklin’s, see sloppy butcher, see… etc.

Lightborn counters how many things? don't compare lightborn to distortion… Franklins counters items and nothing else, slobby got nerfed you don't see it as much anymore. Yes im not saying killers don't have counters to survivor stuff but they don't have 1 perk that counters completely 1 aspect of the game.

Distortion is mostly unhealthy towards other teammates and it needs to be toned down.

  • 1 perk shouldn't have the power to counter so many perks and addons. I personally hope that the token gaining gets changed. Right now distortion hurts the teammates. Most of the times people use this perk to hide alongside with other "stealth" perks like urban evasion, calm spirit and now iron will since its back to 100%. These people will not take chase or even save from hooks quite often. Other teammates gets " tunneled " out since the killer can't find these hiders. and im saying tunneled with very loosely. As a killer if i can't find the corner hopping hiders ill go to where i know the survivors are and i will hook the same survivor again if i have to.

So make it that the tokens can only be gained by eather being in chase for certain amount of time or do a gen x % amount or help teammates by unhooking and healing. Anything that will force the full on hiders to actually participate in gameplay.

Also i'd go as far as remove the hiding the scratchmarks part of the perk.

  • Yeah ever since the 2vs8 came the forums have been slow for me.

  • @ElodieSimp said:

It just shows how overpowered killers are, especially if there are two running around. All it is now is a killer paradise slugfest. Wish we didn't have an event tome around it, that is unfortunate.

I have escaped every single match as a survivor. Some matches were close some matches all 8 escaped. This mode just proves how bad survivors have become without their "comfort" perks. Also 8 survivors and i still see matches where only 2 does gens..what are the rest of you doing? Also i think this mode has no MMR. I see new players mixed with experienced ones all the time, same with killer side.

Killer side is actually hard unless both carries their weight. Its normal to lose 3-4 gens before you even have few hooks. I think the balance is more towards survivors if they would only do gens! I have been enjoying playing killer a lot with a teammate and learning to play nurse.

If you aren't enjoying this mode there is always the normal mode with the same old 4-6 perks :)

  • I have escaped every single match as a survivor, killer ive had some rough matches. Biggest problem for me is the queue times. Maybe you should have put US/EU servers together for this mode… honest i dont mind having ping if it takes my queue times back to normal.

Also i havent gotten slugged yet once nor has my teammates as a survivor. I havent done it as a killer eather so people saying they are getting slugged and bled out every match… X for doubt.

  • I'm not a fan of killers who has built in camping method. The fact that single Larry can put blobs near hooks annoyes me. Yeah theres a cooldown if he teleports but its not all that big.

What both single Larry and Skull Karen have that i hate is the fact that you can't destroy the blobs or the drones. You can disable them but not get rid of them so they have to come replace it.

Still hate Skull Karen more though.

  • @Krazzik said:

Stealth should always be an option in the game, a lot of survivors are bad in chase, including me, so stealth is a good option to avoid it altogether. The game isn't all just about the chase and it shouldn't have to be. I hate being chased as survivor, even after thousands of hours.

I'm just mostly surprised that with thousands of hours you haven't bothered to learn map layouts and simple loops. You don't have to play like comp players and loop the killer for 3 gens.

I guess if unhealthy selfish gameplay is ok then its also ok to leave these selfish teammates to hooks right? I am talking about the selfish hiding and not helping the team at all. No unhooking, no gens no nothing and def not even bothering to try to save in endgame type of selfish.

  • Posts like this really show who are heavily biased towards one side and don't understand other side at all.

  • Meg, Ada and Sable. Megladon and Ada are my only P100s. Won't level anyone else since its pointless. Wish Ada would get some cosmetics soon.

  • @BlightedDolphin said:

Of course there are big issues on the survivor side. Anyone who denies that is wrong and obviously hasn't played much survivor. The same is true for those who think killer has no big issues.

Both sides have major issues that need to be addressed however these forums have the habit of feeling like every single change on one side needs to have an equal, or often larger, change on the other side to 'balance it out' or bring up how there side is worse and needs changes first before the other side is improved.

Anytime you bring up tunnelling you are met with complaints of gen rushing and SWFs. Anytime you mention gen speeds you are met with complaints about slowdown and tunnelling. MfT complaints were brushed off because 'killers get broken perks so why can't we?' and Eruption was brushed off because "you guys just had Dead Hard! Let us have a broken perk!"

Both sides have problems and both sides should be addressed. However so many people just see it from one side and think that every change needs some sort of 'eye for an eye' change to the other side.

"You guys can nerf X, but only if Y is nerfed".

    "Y is a problem… but so is X! Let's derail the thread into a talk about X!"

I honestly don't believe these forums are killer OR survivor sided, I see an equal amount of complaints, derails, and whataboutism on both sides, however it is very obvious that the majority of people here only play one side and forget that the other sides fun matters too. Both sides here are just as obnoxious and dismissive of the other side.

Every adjustment doesn't need an equivalent one on the other side. Just because one side has issues doesn't mean the other is good. If something needs to be changed, then it should be changed regardless of if that same side just got another QoL improvement.

You couldn't have said it better. Both sides have issues. I wish people would learn to see the game from both sides, and i always encourage people to play both sides to understand how they work and what problems there might be.

  • 300 on sable, 100 on Meg, 50 on Ada, 50 ish on Mikaela. Thats about it. I finished the tome and stopped playing. Kinda burned out from DBD and somehow i didnt find this years anniversary that interesting.

  • Female: Feng. I cant stand how she sounds injured… she sounds like squeaky dog toy. I also dont find her looks very appealing.

I guess you haven't been reading the SM topics much then. I'm not going to long detail why she is unhealthy for the game you can go look yourself the older topics where many of us go into details why she requires full rework. Hopefully her model too.

To make it as simple as possible, a Killer going after the same Survivor and hooking them twice in a row is tunneling at it's most simple.

Adding conditions make it murkier and much harder to judge without running a SWF all streaming.

Fair enough. I'll just disagree with you but i understand where you are coming from. The words tunneling, camping, gen rushing have become so murky that i can't personally take most of them seriously anymore.

  • @Pulsar said:

Whether or not tunneling is fair in X situation isn't what's being debated and imo, is entirely separate.

You really just think everything is tunneling? I personally only take the hardcore off hook tunneling with purpose of tunneling people out of the game as fast as possible as actual tunneling.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3753208#Comment_3753208

Tunneling is when the Killer hooks a Survivor twice in a row.

Sure but people are fast to yell Tunneler nowdays no matter what. Tunneling on purpose at 5 gens when someone gets out of hook is tunneling and can be annoying sure, but tunneling when survivor gets off hook and tries to bodyblock you from going after the other survivor deserves another hook.

If you don't run away after getting unhooked and killer comes back to the hook then thats on the survivor.

Also i've had multiple games where ive literally not found anyone else and the unhooked person eather was on a gen or ran past me..yeah you bet im hooking that survivor again instead of running around aimlessly,

If killer has 2 hooks and 2 gens are remaining i would say its fair to start putting pressure back to survivors at that point no?

So yeah…nowdays survivors yell tunneler no matter what even if they werent actually "tunneled"

I play mostly survivor these days and i get hardcore tunneled out of the game maybe few times per week. Theres games where distortion Andys are causing the killer to pressure us since the killer can't find them more than actual purposeful tunneling

  • My biggest issue in this game has never been tunneling. It has always been other teammates.

There are certain killers that tunnel more than some cough Blight cough, but it doesnt happen in every game or even everyday

  • I mean the counter to this perk is to pick up the item and take it to a corner with nothing around it. Killer wastes 2 perk slots then. You can clearly see the icon if they are using weave attunement.

Its not that big of a deal.

  • I havent seen spirit in months and i havent played her in months…actually over 6 months.

For S tier killer people sure don't like playing her eh. ( sarcasm btw she's not S tier anymore )

Also remember people Cherry blossom addon takes away scratch marks and anyone who knows how to counter spirit can counter this addon too.

Game already has so much ambiance noises + explosions its hard to hear anything even with good pair of headphones. When i played i always had to crank my headphones to 90 or 100 to hear stuff. Also the death animation of survivors that sound has become extremeeeely loud. Am i the only one who noticed this? Everytime someone gets sacrificed i feel like throwing my headphones.

  • I stopped using exhaustion perk as well. Chaos mode teached me to run without 1, or showed me its not always needed. Sure it can prolong the chase a bit but i rather use healing and aura reading perks.

  • I have 2 builds i run.

This one i usually run since i like to help the team as much as possible. Aftercare, kindred, we'll make it and windows.

This one is when ive been tunneled enough and im tired of it

Off the record, Decisive strike, windows and resilience.

I have 3700 hours in this game but im matched with survivors less than 400 hours. Killer on the other hand is someone with 9000 hours and those 400 hour survivors wont last more than 20 seconds. This should not happen.

There is a chance that the matchmaker does this to keep things balanced. For every team that has Survivors who can barely last 10-20 sec in chase, the team probably has one really good looper who can run the Killer for multiple minutes. So in the matchmakers eyes the skills offset each other thus making the game “equal”.

I’m not saying you should feel good about this or accept it or anything like that. Just that I think it is an intended feature of the mmr to keep good Survivors separated from each other. If the matchmaker created teams of players of equal skill level the KR would probably plummet since it’s no longer people forming their own 4 man swf but now the matchmaker forming as many powerful teams as possible.

It would be an interesting experiment to see the matchmaker for a modifier pit the best of the best against each other and with each other.

Could be, but its not fair to put new or less experienced survivors with the ones that have thousands of hours and know the game pretty well. This causes a lot of frustration. I have personally closed the game due to some less experienced or newer players making my games quite unbearable and thats not healthy for the game.

I also think its not good for the new players to be matched with players who have more experience, especially if they get blight with 9000 hours. ( happened in one of my games and i felt so bad for the new Megladon ).This will just make new players stop playing this game when they get run over in few seconds. This also goes otherway, no new killer should be matched with 5000 hour survivors. Matches where you clearly see the killer is struggling and is new or not as experienced are not fun, at least not for me. I just feel bad since the killer must be feeling crappy.

When i do get survivors with similar experience levels and hours i do notice the difference in my matches. I'm not saying we always 4 man escape, but more often at least 2 people will get out of the gates.

This being said i have noticed the selfish mindset rise up more often even with survivors that have thousands and thousands of hours. They slap perks on that benefit them and hope that everyone dies so they can get hatch or door. I'm not sure why people find this enjoyable or are they just so broken from soloQ that they have given up.

  • Problem with soloQ is selfish teammates and hiders. I use kindred, aftercare, we'll make it and windows in soloQ to help out teammates, but it also shows me the ugly side quite often. Teammates that hide and won't do gens.

Many times i die to save my teammates but quite often im left to my first hook to die or people won't even bother trying in end game.

Matchmaking seems little broken too im not gonna lie. I have 3700 hours in this game but im matched with survivors less than 400 hours. Killer on the other hand is someone with 9000 hours and those 400 hour survivors wont last more than 20 seconds. This should not happen.

  • Off the record doesnt last whole match though. Old iron will was and will be a problem. You don't need to have an exhaust perk if you hide all match.

  • @ImWinston said:

    • I'm sorry to inform you... but a decent killer ignores both Distortion and Iron will 100%. Don't you believe it? Try using Off the record and go against a decent killer who wants to tunnel a survivor... good luck🤣

SO what every killer should do from now on is return to the hooks or proxy camp hit the survivors off hook to get rid of off the record and just tunnel tunnel tunnel. You know some of us don't enjoy playing like this and im 100% sure most survivors don't enjoy killers playing like that.

Also is it really a "decent" killer if they have to hover over the hooks and tunnel? Anyone can do that..even 10 hour killer.

  • I can already see people with distortion, iron will, calm spirit and urban evasion avoiding the whole match and playing ratty the whole match.

Not sure what you are doing behaviour but this isnt it. We already have a rat problem in soloQ.. why make it worse?

Also i do hope survivors won't complain about cherry blossom addon with spirits since iron will is a nerf towards her. As spirit mainer its already hard to hear survivors with all the ambiance noises and explosions and some survivors are very quiet like Ada. This makes it worse so good thing ive saved up a lot of cherry blossoms.

  • I don't hate blights. I actually enjoy going against them, but many of them play the "comp" style.

They hard tunnel 1 person out at 4 gens and to me thats silly. S tier killer can win without playing like that especially in soloQ.

  • I bought the ghosty outfit last year. This years outfits are kinda ugly. Pigs is almost a recolor of the red/black jacket one she has so meh…not worth it.

  • If the situation is unwinnable i'm letting go off the hook. No point struggling there and just exchancing hooks.

Now heres the petty me though. IF and this is a big IF the last teammate has been hiding and not doing anything whole match i might just hang there out of pettyness, but normally i will let the last teammate try for hatch if situation is that theres 2 or more gens left and only 2 survivors.

  • I'm fine getting 100 on sable and maybe 100 on Megladon. I still have last years terrormisus with Ada and Mikaela so i dont really need to collect that many since i cant even use all of them in a year.

  • Yeaah.. spirit shouldnt be that high anymore. She's gotten plenty of nerfs and she is good against new players and players without proper headset or hearing difficulties. Otherwise you can pretty easily tell where shes coming from and she can be countered.

Shes also gotten plenty of nerfs lately.

    Wesker should be way higher.

Tier lists are kinda personal thing anyways people will never fully agree on these.

  • Just avoid going to the tower. The outside of the map is extremely unsafe for survivors and even if they finish all the gens downstairs they have now somewhat 3 genned themselfs. Tower or basement thingy whatever is beautifully made but this map is horrible for both sides.

  • I have played her and i will die on this hill when i say.. She's not hard to play. She has very easy skill expression. Comparing her to my mains huntress and spirit she doesnt require much brain power.

Putting up drones to places where they are annoying isn't that hard. Nothing changed for me. I still don't and i never will like her.

  • I like Vecna i really do, but i am starting to notice some issues. Mage hand. Its really hard to dodge. Yeah it wont last long but trying to survive another loop will result a hit or down. Fact that he can just stop a pallet or raise a pallet and walk through with almost 0 cooldown is a problem.

Second problem i have is his flight of the damned. The skill itself is fine. I have no issues of killers having ranged attacks, but i have an issue that when he uses it in chase you eather crouch and get hit by Vecna himself or don't crouch and take the hit from the skulls. There is no avoiding being hit. This is while in chase. Off chase that attack is easy to dodge.

So i'm not sure if he's just another W killer who forces you to run forward until you go down. His cooldowns are long yes but he technically has 2 skills that will give him 2 hits no matter what in chase and me personally i am not a fan of hits you have no way to avoid.

  • Vecna looks and sounds cool, but the survivors look horrible, so i'll probably buy the DLC since i want to own everything but i won't play any of them.

Meg finally got a new NICE outfit, instead of recolor and Nea lookalike so i got that and i'm happy.

  • Just make distortions tokens based on unhooks or heals. Force distortion users to actually help teammates instead of hiding in corners which sadly happens often. Also many like to play extremely selfish, won't even come unhook people.

Right now distortion is unhealthy since it forces the killer to go after the people they see while distortion users quite often refuse to take hooks or chases. In the end game its not rare to see 1 person or 2 with 0 hooks while rest have been hooked back to back.

Lightborn is used way less than distortion i find it funny how its even used as a counter well if you nerf distortion you have to nerf lightborn. I haven't seen lightborn used in months, while i think distortion might be slowly creeping to top 10 most used perks if it isnt already.

Just change distortion stacks so people cant rat out with it and they have to help team to get their stacks back thats all i ask.

  • I can't hate Bubba no matter what. When you are against a Bubba you one, check where the basement is and NEVER loop near there and two..you accept theres a high chance of being facecamped.

    Bubbas are just cute <3

As a former PC player who now plays on console, it's simply because of the way inputs work.

A mouse movement is controlled your proprioception (your sense of where parts of your body are relative to you... e.g. so you can touch your nose with your eyes closed). So on a mouse you can move your hand as fast and as far as you want/feel to land the hit.

For controller you hold the stick a direction and the camera turns at a set speed to which you have to let go at the right time. You have no control over the speed of the turn, and when to stop turning is a timing thing, not your proprioception.

The trade off is on console we have an analogue stick for movement, so we have full 360 degree movement whereas PC players are locked on the 8 axis with WASD... but the free movement of the camera more than makes up for this weakness.

At least on console I can control how fast I want to move... Good for memes such as a survivor - zombie - survivor - Nemesis - survivor conga line.

Makes sense. I used to be console player way baaack at the days when Final fantasy 7 was still a thing :D. I still enjoy playing with controller when it comes to RPG games like ffs and personas etc, but DBD is better with keyboard and mouse 100% especially when playing killer.
