"Deathslinger and PH has no counterplay" You're joking right? XD. How bad do you have to be to not know how to counter deathslinger, he is literally a worse huntress, just block line of sight. As for PH he's a bit harder to explain but I have gone a full round only being downed and hooked once, escaping, all while being chased and not once getting tormented. (He was a purple rank PH btw)

ALL killers have counterplay, the devs are just getting better at making killers less predictable.

lmao this reddit fantasy bait of yours is so hilarious and cringe. show actual evidence of slinger being that easy to counter while the spam m2 into quick scope exists and il believe u. id love to also hear your hours and what platform u play on

Genrushing swf teams with second chance perks have no counter. Change my mind

its called playing well. gen rushing doesnt exist :)

Deathslinger has a counterplays, he's just way more complex to counter than other killers:

    Breaking the LoS

Don't loop pallet (Drop it early) He will then mostly don't get you. It depends on how big is the loop.

Juke on left and right, when you are straight next to him.

    Pyramid Head:

Basically just loop. Don't stop moving even if he's uses his power. Leave the loop if he did the attack range ( Cooldown is long enough to give you a distance.)

Fake being greedy. (Make it look like you're gonna do a once more loop and on the last second, next to the pallet, drop it.

Spirit propably has the least counterplays though.

youre acting like feathering doesnt exist LOL.

  • i fully agree. the fun of cosmetics in this game is mix and matching to fit your own unique look. i hate this locked skin trend

The issue with DS is the timer itself, it doesn't matter how long it lasts what matters is when it should be disabled. If a Survivor touches a gen, gets into a locker or if another Survivor is hooked the timer should drop to zero. It should be this way because if you can do any of those interactions you're obviously not being tunneled.

I feel like this simple change would fix the abuse of the perk.

the problem with it disabling if another person is hooked is that its easily manipulated. its not hard to down someone doing a 1 for 1 and hooking the unhooker then rehooking the ds person for free. they were still technically tunneled and therefore would have 0 defense against it

  • pyramid head only made this worse. everything in terms of fairness and balance thats been faught and advocated for, for years was tossed out the window because of him. its sad

I have 500 hours and I routinely bully killers ranked much better than me using only sprint burst and mediocre knowledge of the maps and without a SWF. All I do is exploit these zones, which due to breakable walls, are finally fixed. It was lazy design back when the maps were static and killers could get ruthlessly bullied at their own shacks on every level.

"everyone goes down at some point"

Obviously. Or no one would bother playing killer.

    "kid"

I'm a 28 year old Navy vet. Not sure what image you were picturing.

i love sub 1k hour andys thinking they know everything :)

  • to answer the title... because thats the objective? im not sure what youre asking here at all. for what you want to happen massive changes would need to be made essentially remaking the whole game literally

    Umm... ok...

Dont know why you’ve said that because I’ve been quite explicit on a frequent basis on these forums that I think gen times are fine.

oh really now? because what you stated is so bias and one sided that my statement 100000% coorelates and counters the other pov. next.

Couterplay to DS requires you to think when he'll shoot not wait & react to him shooting. Thinking's hard when most fo the time you can just react to killer in plain sight and loop them for free since you see them.

Also if it's as unskillful as you say then play and post a few rounds of you playing DS, I'd love to see how easy it's going ot be for you if he doesn't require skill to play.

dude i dont need to play him myself to prove anything when theres tons of evidence already out there from tons of huge and skilled content creators who already agree with my pov.

The counterplay is using pallets, vaults, speed perks, every other perk in the game, stealth, blood scratch management, flashlights, bodyblocking, and actual skill to win the game instead of crying about it after you get caught. Honestly, get good. I mean that sincerely. There's no reason you should be able to fight the killer while on the hook. It's a justified position to be in if you can't make use of the enormous amount of assets already available to you.

kid i have almost 4k hours in survivor alone and what youre stating absolutely means nothing. everyone goes down at some point to anything at a given time or circumstance. no ones perfect, that doesnt excuse lame and lazy game design for a single person and your bias is hilarious

  • i still dont understand how the main issue flys over everyones head everytime this comes up. who cares about the 4v1 macro aspect... its UNFUN AND UNFAIR for the person ON THE HOOK. there is little to no counterplay on your own that you can do vs face camping

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/162540/devs-losing-touch-with-community

Survivors aren’t entitled to 2 extra chances. They’re simply an available possibility. If a survivor gets caught and hooked, they need to accept that they may very well die, hence be more careful in the first place.

If the game were intended that survivors should be 100% guaranteed 2 additional chances, then the game wouldn’t have a hook system but a respawn system instead.

then killers like you arent entitled to gens going any slower

  • the unpunished feathering of his power too is so bogus. im tired of being forced into lose-lose situations and picking the one that is less bad. the character from head to toe is disfunctionally unhealthy

Ever though that not all people want to fry their brain when playing killer ? What's wrong with more casual powers that are strong. None of the "unskilled" powers you named are as fast at downing as those that require more skill to be used. Also I can't belive you called powers of Demo, Doc or Deathslinger unskilled. It feels like you never played them, I can understand Freddy but DS or Demo ? Seriously, you must be the best player in DBD if you can hit all of their skillshots 100% of the time at every opportunity or you just don't know what you're even talking about.

It's not like playing survivor requires insane amount of skill, perfect timing, predictions, aiming and all that. If anything casual M1 killer are boring since you can loop them into oblivion without much thought. Killers are supposed to be intimidating, not your toy.

deathslingers power is absolutely unskillful wym..??? the instant quick scope with a projectile that fast leaves literally no possible reaction time for counterplay. it also goes through holes in walls which is straight bogus. i think YOURE the one who hasnt vs’d them at all

  • @Desh said:

    1. Cage spawns across the map opposite of Killer which promotes anti camping and tunneling. If your team hasn't saved you or faced the Killer because he reaches you, that's on them.
    2. Punishment of the Damned is a slow, small ranged attack. A red trail indicates its trajectory before traveling towards you which is easily avoidable if you side step. Even then, his feign attack is a strategy no different than Demo's shred which is used in the same manner except the shred is unavoidable if you don't pay attention. You also can't flick his attack like you would with DeathSlinger or Demo because Pyramid Head's movement using his power is clunky and slow. Unless you're in the middle of an animation or he got a good guess, you're not going to get hit.
    3. Map is fine, no one knows who it aids right now because people complain it is Killer side and others complain it is Survivor sided. Give it a couple weeks when people figure out the Map and it'll be water under the bridges.

jesus the innacuracy in this is so F’ing aggrovating and the reason why nothing gets changed. you are absolutely WRONG. the amount of time a PH has gotten back in time to tunnel someone out of a box in a deadzone with no resources is over half. even if they hook u, they camp till struggle and instantly mini mori u as if they had a real mori equipt. the power is another new player delicacy because of how easy it is to feather the power on and off with no down side its literally death slinger 2.0 with the easily mind gamable through a wall shot. the character is flawed beyond belief and is EVERYTHING against what the community has faught for in terms of balance. i highly doubt you play survivor and if so show hours

  • as long as camping tunneling and mass slugging exists, survivors have no reason to try new fun builds. every time i do i just get super toxic people who wanna camp like crazy or tunnel with mori etc. the game design just doesnt favor fun. same goes for killers running corrupt pop, endfury etc. on weaker killers so they have a chance

  • iv had a decent amount of these killers and its very boring. queues can get very long and its inconsiderate of them to intentionally do nothing to de rank and i think they should get punished. especially since people put offerings like bps cakes etc and it goes to waste

  • @McLightning said:

First of all - everyone using the term "Facecamping". FACE CAMPING NO LONGER EXISTS. It hasn't for YEARS. It's just camping.

Secondly, camping doesn't need fixing. It's as much of a legitimate playstyle as body blocking hooks, using DS, tea bagging, and whining about NOED is.

if u think ds is the same as camping im worried for you

Oni is just an M1 killer with no power except for a small tracking ablity, when he is outside of his power. He has to waste time getting his power, that's what makes him balanced.

Also, he still has counterplay while his power is active, loops still work against him, just less than any other killer, which needs to be the case since he also has to spend time with almost no power at all. I actually enjoy going against him because things get scary whenever he activates his power.

oni gets his power back way too quick for it to be considered balanced. any decent oni in a pub game will get his power 9-10 times a game

  • spirit absolutely. she needs a complete rework so her gameplay isnt literally guessing. nothing is fun or fair about her standing still and looking the same as her phasing zzzzzzz

If it improved survival odds, is absolutely a nerf. There's nothing about vaults in the patch notes, so the new vaulting could be a bug.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1294763#Comment_1294763

Yeah, if you've taken steps, then you should be hit, but I'm missing people that are still in the vault animation.

so youre absolutely willing to to say that a de-synched, laggy vault that was fixed is a nerf...? lmao the silliest mindset iv ever heard and you should get better at the game.

  • @Dwinchester said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/154512/killers-cant-complain-about-anything-on-the-survivor-side-now

I don't know what you're talking about with the window vaults. They buffed the living dog dookie out of them. Watch the latest noob3 video, these map changes were far from a nerf.

a survivor bug fix isnt a killer nerf lmfao. killers were granted way too many hits they didnt deserve with buggy vaults :clown:

  • it should be bannable. i have BOAT LOADS of clips of people being hit down the map or hit through pallets that are put down 2-3 seconds early. its sickening and unfun.

  • a games popularity doesnt mean their game mechanics and systems are bad. that is the most irrelevant argument you can make there is no correlation at all.

  • its time they changed the hook system to be more like last year or hide or die's. i cant believe in 2020 so many toxic playstyles are still condoned. stuff is already unfun enough with server issues and bugs and toxicity just makes it worse. il only pray with you OP for the day theres an anti camp system thats fair for both sides for actual skillful and fun games. at this point the devs have said f*ck playing well and just cheese anyway u can to win

  • @Mister_Holdout said:

Some of the maps defintely feel better, but there is still a lot of work to be done before killers are on par with survivors.

A number of the maps are downright awful.

That said, I hope the devs continue to make the maps more killer friendly. I would hate to see BHVR go down another dark road.

then i assume you wouldnt mind all the bs addons getting reworked then :) your bias is showing heavily

  • @PigNRun said:

    The thing is:

    - It makes flashlights completely useless outside of destroying Hag traps.

    - Kills, literally kills, a lot of perks.

    - Removes the possibility of saves once downed (bodyblocking, pallet saves).

    - Makes the game boring by simplifying the flow of the match even more.

    - What if they are sent right next to a Survivor? That removes any pressure from hooking survivors.

flashlights are possible as iv stated they still need to be picked up and hooked

  • @OutcastEric said:

What do you mean? They nerfed it into the ground. Now you only get one hatchet and have to run an add on to either get 2 or 3. Hillbilly base power is stronger than iridescent head and he runs at normal speed lol. If huntress got you, she got you. Dodge better, and no, dont listen to the guy who wants to make it like deathslingers pink add on. All the new killers untra rare add ons are extremely weak, almost like the devs dont want the killers to be the power role

just dodge on servers 4Head. cringe.

Good thing I couldn't care less what you think, so your assessment of my credibility is irrelevant.

    But thanks for stopping by.

i couldnt care less what you think either. most sentient people would know your assessment is laughable. have a good day

  • @Kwikwitted said:

Ok, so now that you've made your list, let's check these off one by one.

    1. This wasn't a nerf, this was a correction to the nonsense that killers were getting stunned when out of pallet stun range, it made respecting pallets literally no different from just challenging all of them.
    2. The exhaustion nerf was also necessary, being able to continuously abuse exhaustion perks while continuing to run around was ridiculous, and let's not pretend survivors often easily recharge their exhaustion while sitting on generators anyway.
    3. The DS rework was again, a correction, the perk should not be completely free, but function as anti-tunneling. Even in its current iteration it is still 60 seconds of immunity from being picked up.
    4. Mettle of Man's problem was it was a free damage state with no way of indicating to the killer whether it was active or even that the survivor was running it, at least now if I see multiple attempts for a protection hit I can get an idea. Honestly this perk should have never even happened.
    5. What are you even talking about here? Balanced Landing is still a 40 second cooldown and now even muffles grunts from falling by 100% at tier 3. It's still absolutely destructive on Haddonfield and is also very good on the new saloon map?
    6. Spirit is countered by good juking and an understanding of her mechanics. Just because she's not a standard looping killer doesn't mean she is impossible to play against, and she's been nerfed, CONSTANTLY, notice you left that part out.
    7. I'll give you iridescent heads as being OP, I'll even throw in Ebony Mori's. Now that those are out of the way how about YOUR KEYS MISTER.
    8. Um, you are aware that mirror myers moves at a majorly reduced speed right? And is easily counterable by just having someone follow him around? If you die to mirror myers it's because your team is potatoes, not to mention it's easily countered by sprint burst and spine chill.
    9. You even admit insta-heals are OP, and gen rushing has not been fixed. Toolboxes now also make sabotaging way more viable and super annoying for killers, so where was your big "nerf" again?
    10. Endgame collapse had to be put in to prevent survivors from taking games hostage by refusing to leave, this was brought on by survivor behavior, no one to blame but yourselves.
    11. Really? The mere existence of second chance perks? So we're just going to ignore Adrenaline, DS, BT, and Unbreakable? Spare me.
    12. The point was they both DID get patched. My guess would be the Legion exploit was more complicated coding wise so it took longer, this isn't killer sided, fixing exploits is just something that gets done.
    13. Um, hello? Dedicated servers have been a thing for months now? Next.
    14. We CAN'T hold a game hostage because of bleed out you idiot, that's the point, if we leave you all on the ground the game will end when everyone bleeds out, likewise before EGC, if survivors just hid the whole time they could keep the game hostage INDEFINITELY.
    15. Now you're just assuming community sentiment, killers get haranged for quitting games too, and DC penalties affect both. The better question should be why a survivor can decide to die on first hook, screwing killers over out of possible hooks needed for pips, just cause they don't like facing a certain killer?
    16. Camping and tunneling are both punished and can be easily countered. DS counter tunneling hard and camping is countered by just rushing gens and ending the game while the killer stands with one survivor like a doofus. The emblem system also punishes this behavior severely.

Now that we're done with your list, I've got a couple to counter.

    1. The Ruin change, biggest one that cause the gen rush meta we are now living through, destroyed cleansing totems as a secondary objective and turned every game into a sweaty tryhardfest for any killer. Particularly devastating to trap based killers. All to appease "newer survivors".
    2. Deliberate removal of all synergy in generator regression perks. New Ruin can't work with Thrilling Tremors, New Ruin can't work with Pop, goes on and on.

I won't pretend survivors haven't seen nerfs occasionally but to pretend this game isn't survivor-sided is just delusional.

u lost credibility the moment you said spirit was countered by good juking. good troll

Then change the key, it’s a free escape with no downside while a mori has downsides and requires a hook

because getting a hook is so hard LOL

  • ds is fundamentally flawed and useless against mori. i dont see why it would be a problem to allow this as ds can just be slugged out anyways even if you are being tunneled if the killer cares that much.

I think he's definitely far from overpowered. He feels easy enough to dodge and when he uses blood fury, don't let him see you. He somewhat feels like plague when she gets her corrupt purge and you can just hide during their power.

I'd say the only annoying thing is the constant tracking he gets if you're injured and that bloody glove add-on is pretty strong. It's an ultra rare add-on though so it makes sense.

i disagree, in any sort of open area you have 0 chance. its way to fast and u can only weave/360 the bad onis. its pretty miserable
