  • I think the first penalty should be 15 minutes instead. It's not too long so it doesn't punish people who have urgencies but it's not so short that you can just rage quit, go to the toilet and come back for the queue.

  • Haddonfield will probably come around Halloween, so my bet is next mid chapter.

No idea for Swamp and Red Forest.

  • The most effective type of phase are the quick bursts. My rule of thumb is to almost never use more than half of her power gauge unless I need to get somewhere faster. The more time you spend on phase, the easier it is to juke. The faster charging addons (the brooch and the lace) help with that.

:41 this is how his power is supposed to work. Whats the problem? Nemesis is designed to beat singular windows with no other loop option. Huntress gets this also.

2:54, there's nothing for Felix to react to. Thats a guarantee hit on both nemesis and huntress

6:48 Leon with horrible pathing, uses his speed boost into a medium vault ignoring a pallet to his left he could have predropped. Survivor mistake. Every 115 killer gets a hit here. This isn't unique to any of them

7:08 Other leon fakes window and runs AWAY from shack then BACK to shack. Absolutely abysmal pathing. Huntress gets a hit in this situation as well. Every killer in the game gets a hit here.

Nemesis 100% has 50/50s at pallets depending on distance. If you think he doesn't then you're not looping him correctly or he's closer than you think he is. Also missed hits are OBSCENELY easy to bait out from Nemy. His tentacle has terrible hitboxes, and doesn't track in anyway.

0:41 Against Huntress, she has to wind up her hatchet way earlier and the survivor has the option to either vault the window, fake the vault or even take a different pathing. Nemesis has such a fast wind up he can literally wait until the animation lock and still get the hit. There's no input from the survivor there.

2:54 Again, the problem is the lack of input from the survivor. A Huntress would have to wind up her hatchet way earlier to hit that, and the Felix could have tried something.

6:48 Yeah, after rewatching this I have to agree a killer with a normal lunge would have hit that. My point is that Nemesis can wind up an attack so fast that the survivor can basically never be in an animation lock.

7:08 The problem is HE HAS to dodge. Nemesis had just raised his tentacle so there's nothing he can do there but dodge to the right, and his penalty for winding up and down his power is so little he can almost instantly get the M1. Huntress wouldn't have got that.

"Nemesis 100% has 50/50s at pallets depending on distance" ehh, sure? If you're 20m away from the killer of course he won't be able to bait the tentacle. What I'm talking about is actual looping. Missed hits as I said are more on control of the Nemesis player messing up than you actually doing something.

I'll just leave the DBD wiki stats for both killers here, if you still believe you can do with Nemesis the same you can do with Huntress, idk what to tell anymore.

    Huntress:

    • Tapping the Power button will take ~1.25 seconds to wind-up and throw a Hunting Hatchet by default.
      • These Hunting Hatchets will hurl with the minimum speed of 25 m/s.
    • Post-throw cool-down lasts for 2 seconds.
    • While charging and holding a Hunting Hatchet, The Huntress is tremendously slowed to 3.08 m/s.

    Nemesis:

    • Charge time: 0.35 seconds
    • Charge and hold Movement speed: 3.8 m/s
    • Cancellation Cool-down time: 1.5 seconds
    • Cool-down Movement speed: 4.2 m/s

When was the last time a window or pallet helped you against a competent Nurse?

as for the map thing, a good Nurse withs PC that can actually run the game without random freezes (unlike me because i’m broke) will not care about the map, i will admit though that Lerys is pretty bad for Nurse in general, just not for the very good ones

I think you're talking about Spirit there buddy, she's the one that is consistent on every map. Nurse is extremely map dependant. Indoor maps in general are bad for yeah, but you also have those like Yamaoka and Ormond that have random rocks and tiles that eat up your blinks, or maps like Mother's Dwelling and Purgation that really hurt her mobility if you're not running range addons.

Here's a competent Nurse main talking about maps on 23:39, it's an old video, but most of it is still valid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPQb8B7pMIM&ab_channel=SupaAlf

About your first question, yes they do help, it's just that you don't use them the traditional way you do against most killers. Just like you don't loop a Blood Fury Oni, a Huntress or a Bubba the same way.

6.Distance on account of the default max blink distance being decently far

    1.Windows

    2.Pallets

    3.Walls

    4.Map Geometry

    5.Distance

    6.Inconsistent spins

do you notice the issues here?

She doesn't ignore these things. She's not Hulk or anything like that to demolish structures. Or do you seriously believe playing Nurse on Lerys is the same thing as playing her on Azarov's?

  • Has anyone else noticed that the blink bug (the one you literally can't use your power) is happening more frequently since Pinhead patch? I usually have 1 or 2 per match when it happens, but now it's happening more frequently, and multiple times per match.

I'm watching SupaAlf right now on stream and he just had a match with TWELVE blink bugs lol.

This will be the last time I make a comment here because a mod is hawk-eying this thread and seems to be hyper-sensitive.

I would really like to know actual performance issues that can't be chalked up to your network problems and/or hardware problems, console or not. I have an Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and a PC slightly better than the Series X. I NEVER run into performance issues maybe except the Xbox One. Which is pretty obvious why but I have to choose my words carefully because the hyper-sensitive nature of the people here involving the old consoles.

AGAIN, I've have watched nearly every "performance issue" clip in this thread and 90% of them are network issues. Either your connection is just not cutting it at times, the server hit a hiccup, or there is a bug with certain interactions in the game that cause the server to crap itself. Just to remind you, actual optimization/performance issues are followed by a huge dip in framerate or frames being held up for to long (micro-stutters....but micro-stutters are not anywhere near as common as it can be on PC but is usually due to hardware/setting issues). If you notice is nearly all the clips, there is a freeze then the gamestate playing "catchup" and seems to fast forward within a couple hundred milliseconds. This is a network issue. Either from you or the server. If you notice just you seemed to be dazed by the "freeze", then it's your network. If you notice the survivor your chasing or the killer your running, seems to be dazed after the "freeze" then it was a server hiccup.

If anyone here wants to truly help this "problem" some of you think is plaguing the old generation consoles, it's important it distinguish between actual optimization issues or network issues.

Why do you keep insisting these are network issues when the devs themselves acknowledge these are optimization problems? Are you implying you know more about DBD than the devs?

Yes, that's the trade-off in range. He can't hit you if he starts in the middle of the vault animation. That's a huge exaggeration. The best he can manage is start the windup just before the vault animation begins and get a hit, and unless he's tier 3, he's outright inferior to Demogorgon in this regard, and that's not debatable. It comes down to their numbers. If you got hit by the tentacle at shack at anything less than tier 3, you're reacting slowly, or lost a mindgame that led up to the tentacle attack landing.

He moves at 90s when charging the tentacle. Canceling it means he moves at Myer's T1 speed. It's a similar principle to Pyramid Head's corner shots. Either he wants to hit you, and taking it wide results in a miss that you can punish, or it was a bait, and he'll catch up.

This is why I brought up loop shape. Depending on the loop shape, it's actually 2 50/50s. The 50/50 at the pallet, and then, with proper timing and preaiming from the Huntress, a 50/50 on the loop's side. And, again, if Nemesis' entire advantage is small pallet loops, his demerits are not proportional to his power's value. Also, you are outright wrong on missed hits. If he holds the tentacle, he's moving at 95% or 100%. This does not apply to misses. It's the standard cooldown speed. A Huntress missing is actually moving in the 90s for 2 seconds, which is both faster and shorter than Nemesis's misses. God help you if Huntress is using cooldown add-ons. which are low-rarity.

It's not an exageration. As I said, he has a wind up time of 0.35 seconds, that's faster than the vaulting speed of survivors. He's not "outright inferior" to Demo because Demo doesn't hit over loops like Nemesis. Although in shack both are very similar, Demo still takes 0.65 seconds just do a quick shred (the normal one takes 1 second). There's no "reacting slowly" because the guy unleashes his attack faster than you can react to it and move your character (human average reaction time is 0.25 seconds, and you can't dodge an attack in DBD on 0.10 seconds).

Even if you call the bait out the guy cancels his attack so fast he'll just M1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzwHDZwGJVc&ab_channel=D3ADPlays put at 0:41 and see how he can literally pull out his attack in the middle of the animation and still hit the attack, and that's still Tier 1 range.

Same video, put at 2:54. How can Felix react there? 0.35 seconds to unleash an attack is faster than human reaction, best he can do is running the outside, but then Nemesis doesn't even have to do nothing to get a M1.

6:48. Again, he unleashes a tentacle faster than the Leon can even vault the window.

7:08. He puts out the tentacle and Leon tries the "running wide" thing you talk about. He cancels it and gets a M1. Against Huntress Leon would have made the pallet.

There's no "50/50" at pallets with Nemesis, don't know why you insist that:

    • Huntress: you arrive at a pallet loop and she raises her hatchet. You call out that and continue running, so you make another loop safely.
    • Nemesis: you arrive at a pallet loop and he raises the tentacle. You call out the bluff and continue runnig, but he keeps moving at 95% holding it and quickly comes back to 115% and catches you with a M1 anyway.

I never mentioned missed hits because that's more on the Nemesis player messing up than it the survivor countering it. Don't know why you bringing that up.

Gens, altruism, chases and escaping is just playing the game though...you're not doing anything different than you should be in any other match. The killer is maybe getting 50% more BP than you at the end of a match. But of course your opinion is skewed because you use BBQ and then completely dismiss WGLF claiming it's harder to get. LOL!! It's super duper hard to get a safe unhook or take a protection hit or land a stun 4 times through the trial.....come on give us a break.

    Survivor brain for you.

Love when people accuse me of being survivor main when 90% of my matches are as killer. Huge brain for you.

Not every match you're going to do everything. Sometimes the killer just randomly decides to tunnel/facecamp someone out of the game and survivors barely get any BP.

WGLF is way harder to get stacks because you can only have 6 chances of unhooking per game, and protection hits are dependant on the killer and don't always happen. As killer to get your BBQ stacks you literally just have to play the game normally, although it must be hard for you because you seem like one of those who lose 5 gens trying to tunnel a Nea who pressed ctrl.

Huntress doesn't need Zombies she can cross map snipe

Which is super situational because she makes a sound cue whenever her hatchet is fully charged. Cross maps were also nerfed with the Realm Beyond when devs started adding trees and rocks everywhere.

  • @MarcoPoloYolo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2493759#Comment_2493759

But on the loops where Huntress's power is valid, there's less counterplay for Huntress than Nemesis. Due to Nemesis' range constraints, a survivor can take a loop wide causing them to be safe from the whip. This is not an issue for Huntress. Pallets stuns also interrupt the tentacle attack while it won't interrupt a hatchet toss. The only thing that would make Nemesis better at filler loops is that survivors can't cheese the fight by dropping pallet one loop early, and even then, depending on the loop shape, Huntress can still get the hit. This is also not even factoring in that Huntress will just outright be better at any windowed loop due to how temperamental that angles are on the whip requiring him to be closer to the survivor than huntress to seal off a window. Also, Huntress has her own style of zoning. Anywhere in her line of sight is a target.

So, in conclusion, Nemesis is only debatably better than Huntress on the weakest tiles in the game, and that's apparently justification enough to not only require winning the chase 3 times before a down, but give a survivor 2 free spring bursts that turns even correctly executed usages of your power game loosing chases against good survivors. Fantastic.

As I said, Huntress has a WAY longer wind up than Nemesis, so the survivor has way more than time to react. Nemesis unleashes his attack so fast that you can fast vault a window and in the middle of the animation he can take out his whip and attack you before you're done vaulting. I feel you're understimating Nemesis range there too, 5 or 6m is enough to get hits at the shack window that you wouldn't get with a M1.

I don't get it when you say "take a loop wide". He's still moving at 115% on your direction, if you don't hug the loop he'll just close the distance and M1 you anyway.

On pallet loops Nemesis is also way harder to deal with. Against Huntress, each loop you basically have a 50/50 chance of Huntress winding up her hatchet to try and get a hit while you drop the pallet. If she misses that, she's slowed down so much that the survivor can easily get another loop. With Nemesis, if you try that, he only gets slowed down to 95% MS (100% on tier 3!), so you'll probably be hit with a M1 before you do another loop.

I don't even need to talk about his zoning. The guy shreds through pallets faster than Demo and Bubba.

  • I'm just going to say a survivor running from the corner of the map to another benefits the killer. Not seeing the aura would make survivors stay more on gens and, even when Chain Hunt activates, chances are you'd have lost a couple of gens. It's kind of like when people suggest that Jigsaw Boxes from Pig shouldn't be visible until the trap is active, they don't realize they're shooting themselves on the foot.

Yes but if you try to win, then on killer you have 0 downtime, whilst survivors do have a lot of downtime

Yeah I get you, killer really doesn't have that much free time per match, but you don't really have to do anything different besides playing the game to get tons of BP, while survivors have to do a bit of everything (gens, altruism, chases and escaping) and sometimes you barely go above 20k. Not even mentioning WGLF stacks are way harder to get than BBQ.

    @CornHub said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2493960#Comment_2493960

More than enough? Don't forget that most killers need a steady supply of add-ons to be bearable. Even if you don't use add-ons they have less bp add-ons than survivors.

I run Chewed Pen on my Ghostface every match and I still have almost 300 by using BBQ and spending BP on him. If killers want they can bring the best addons every match.

I think maybe there should be an indication on the hud for survivors whenever another survivor is getting chased. It happens with the obsession, for some weird reason.

This, it wouldn't reveal everything that happens with a killer like with Oni and Demo, but it would still be a massive help for solo queue.

  • @ilovedbd123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2493713#Comment_2493713

I play solo, swf and killer.

At least for the majority killer is the harder and more stressful role. I'm glad you have the full enjoyment when playing killer though.

My opinion is that with killer you're not relying on anyone to get your BP, while at survivor you're relying on 4 other people, including the killer.

As killer you can just stack 3 slowdowns and BBQ on Spirit and have an easy 50~60k every match.

  • Huntress has a 1,5 seconds wind up compared to the 0,35 seconds Nemesis has, is slowed down to around 60% MS so she can't fake her attack like Nemesis can, moves at 110% and doesn't break pallets with her hatchets. The only advantage in chase she has above Nemesis is range, because in actual loops it's way easier to hit attacks with the Tentacle.

Not even to mention Huntress doesn't have zombies.

  • @ilovedbd123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2493692#Comment_2493692

TBF, whilst BBQ helps it's still 1/4 of the killers perks. I personally wouldn't mind a basekit 25-50% boost to bp for killers. They do play the harder and more stressful role after all.

"Harder and stressful" is subjective. I have a way better time playing killer than solo survivor. In fact I barely play survivor anymore because I don't SWF and solo sucks.

  • Well, more BP for everyone means everybody can bring the strongest stuff all matches. While I believe the grind for perks should be reduced (by removing perk tiers), I don't believe every killer running purple/pink addons and survivors running BNPs and Keys every match would be healthy.

  • @CornHub said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2493680#Comment_2493680

True, but no one is playing survivor for bp. If someone is playing the high bp role I don't think it's fair they get so little in scale of the massive grind.

Just use BBQ and offerings. You can get close to 100k per match with that. You want more than that?

  • What about being tunneled and camped as survivor and getting out of the match with less than 10k? If anything, leveling up as killer is too easy.

  • I think Nurse wins. Watching her pallet and breakable wall breaking animations you can see besides her blinks she has a sort of telekinesis ability, so she could probably choke him from a distance.

  • @Purgatorian said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2493517#Comment_2493517

Why do killers really have to waste perk slots to cover for bad design. Yes, survivors can run leader and such to speed up gens but even if they went in with no gen speed perks they still fly too fast unless you're a high end killer.

No, according to survivors they can bring any perk they like without question but if a killer takes ruin/undying they get slated for using 'crutch perks'.

For the same reason survivors bring BT and DS to prevent being eliminated 3 minutes into the match. In an ideal world, both gen speed and camping/tunneling get addressed, but considering the devs have to keep spitting chapters every 3 months, I doubt this will ever happen. So right now it makes no sense to complain about gen speeds if you're not even running something like Corrupt Intervention (which is the only slowdown I run nowadays, and I win 80% of my games as killer).

About the topic per se, I doubt this will show something to the devs considering the last kill rate stats were around 70%. If anything, it will probably show multiple stacked slowdowns are a problem.

  • https://dbd.onteh.net.au/ just go for the section dedicated to downs with Plague and you'll probably find those dedicated mains.

I wasn't even playing dbd. So you got the reward also because you weren't in the match?

Yes, I got it. I was literally on the endgame screen when it happened.

  • If anything, people cared about ranks for the pure fact they were always shown to the playerbase, so they kind of served as "status". The moment we have MMR public we're back to the "HOW TO GET TO 9999 MMR FAST" tutorials on youtube the next day. As someone who only plays around 10~15 hours a week I honestly don't mind if I stay on lower grades.

  • Try again tomorrow, I'm sure they'll read this time.

  • Because it's a projectile that is thrown as fast as Deathslinger's harpoon, barely has a movement speed penalty, recovers faster than a M1 hit and can basically walk through dropped pallets.

  • Ace players are always solid teammates.

  • Sure, let's nerf the Franklins + Hoarder combo on Pinhead so his players can use two more slowdown perks.

Spirit and Blight at release were also called bad killers. I'd bet 10 bucks if Nurse was released today she'd be called trash tier. People are just used to the recent "press M2 to win" killers.

  • I watched it and imo HSHS was more interesting and that game is borderline dead already, so probably not.

  • If there's one thing we learn from eldritch horrors, is that they can't be beat.

  • I don't see the point of your post. You went against two "sweaty" teams and got a 2k and a 3k with around 28k points on both. Those are excellent results so you'll probably keep going against those teams. Or do you want a "casual" team for an easy 4k?

Edit: the first one can't even be labeled as sweaty in any point in time. The best item in the lobby are yellow medkits with brown addons, and there's someone running fricking Any Means Necessary. Even the second is arguable with those two Self Cares.

  • I hate these windows as killer. You barely hear the survivor vaulting because the room is super loud.

  • I don't agree that the Nemesis one is better. Survivors 90% of the time don't start running from a Huntress when they hear the lullaby unless it's a huge map like Mother's Dwelling where it makes sense.

Also you don't have to go out of your way to activate Wooden Fox as you're going to keep reloading all the time with Huntress. With Nemesis, destroying zombies is a risky strategy because they take time to respawn and they could be on a good position.

What part of that statement do you not understand?

I'll give you a simple analogy.

A 17-year-old kid with no marketable skills sees an orthopedic surgeon roll up next to him at a stoplight in a Ferrari. Surgeon is dressed nice, has a super hot girl with him in the car, and is balling hard.

The kid could have many different reactions. My reaction was I wanted to be like that. I worked and paid my way through college, graduated with a 4.0, got into medical school, matched into an excellent residency, and became an expert in my field. I worked to develop multiple income streams to work towards my goal of pulling in $1m a year. I worked to master the game, and as a result, I've won at life.

Many other people in this situation would say this is outside their grasp. Going to college is too much work. Becoming a doctor takes too long. They don't have determination or fortitude to preserve. Instead, maybe they want to be lazy and take a job at Walmart. They would never imagine earning a million in their life, let alone in a single year.

People who want SBMM are like this second group. They don't think they are capable enough. No self confidence. They're not willing to put in the time to get there. They choose the easy path to their trailer park with the other low achievers.

Like wealth redistribution, the lazy want to redistribute these easier games away from me to themselves. But being stuck in a community where I only see high achieving ballers 100% of the time is no fun for me. One of the best parts of being on top is looking down and seeing all the people beneath you.

Holy ######### that's edgy af. Of course it had to be a Legion main.

  • Way better than before. My kill rate must have dropped from 90% to something like 75%, but my matches are always a thrill now. There are no more 4ks with 5 gens up or 4 outs with 3 hooks, almost every match I feel both sides have a chance of winning and it's a struggle until the very end.

I also haven't changed my playstyle. I still do very minimal tunneling and camping and I'm still running a single slowdown perk (Corrupt Intervention) on all my killers.

  • The bare minimum they could do is make that hit when your grab gets canceled an instadown imo. As a Ghostface main it's infuriating how you can have the best ping on earth and grabs still get cancelled all the time.

  • She's buggy but what you described seems like a ping issue. Never happened to me.

  • So they're good at doing their objective? That's good.

Ok fine. Perks should have downsides though and Iron Will lacks literally nothing. Deliverance has a prerequisite, I’m All Ears has a cool down, and so on.

On this case we'd have to change a lot of perks on both roles. Perks like Tinkerer and Kindred have very strong effects with no downside.

  • I use 100% sensitivity on all killers except Huntress and Slinger, where I put it down to 70%. Also practive adjusting movement using only the right stick.

  • Survivors with Iron Will still give the killer information. You can't hear their grunts of pain, but they still make footstep sounds, scratch marks, falling grunts, pools of blood and you can still physically see them unless you're playing Spirit.

Spirit doesn't give any kind of information unless you're at her face and can see the animation reset but even then she's still moving at Mach 3 speed on your direction.

The "no skill" argument makes no sense because perks aren't supposed to be skillful. They're meant to help you and Iron Will is one of the few reliable survivor perks that we have right now, so I don't think it deserves a change. "It makes it hard to mind game at certain tiles", you could say the same about perks like Bambozlee and STBFL, they also make chases harder for the survivor counterpart.

  • Pinhead imo is on the same level of Doctor. Both have very similar antiloop powers where you have to hit survivors consistently to get a hit and a good passive power (Madness and Chain Hunt).
