The devlopers have stated interest in bringing over cross-save and corss-platform, and have asked the community several times about this. Right now, though, the best answer we've had is Soon™.

Well if you're living in the country with the server and you're getting 160ms then yeah, there's definitely something horribly wrong there. Danke.

I've noticed a few posts by people saying that they're experiencing similar issues. My best guess would be that this has something to do with testing for the new matchmaking system being underway, but obviously something has gone amiss, whatever it is. If this many people are having the same problem, it's almost certainly something on the server side, so unfortunately there's probably not a whole lot you can do about it on your end of things. The only consolation I can offer is that, given that the issue seems so significant and widespread, it's likely that the devs will make identifying and fixing the problem a high priority, so hopefully we'll be receiving more information about it soon.
Here's hoping, definitely. Thanks mate.

Most true stealth killers dont get their auras shown (or so im told) so wraith sneak up to OoO and mess up his day
Can confirm you're correct here. When using an ability/some perks, a lot of killers get what's known as the "Undetectable" status effect. This renders them immune from aura reading and surprsses their red stain and terror radius. Premonition and Spine Chill do, however, still work.
-
okay firstly how are you getting this many teams like that? i dont think ive ever seen one.
secondly here are the list of counters i can think of off the top of my head:
-Blindness status (perks such as Hex: The Third Seal or add-ons such as Sheep Block from The Nightmare)
-Killing them
-Getting close to them
-Undetectable status (perks such as Tinkerer or killers such as Ghostface)
Another one you can do is ignore them- usually people use OoO if they're confident in their chasing abilities, so being able to pressure three other survivors whilst they're forced to jockey all gens by themselves is great, because it gives at minimum 240 seconds (not including the first 2 gens since this is when the killer has not much pressure). Perks like Knock Out or Third Seal also work here, since they're forced to save slugged/hooked teammates whilst not knowing where they are.
Basically if you can pressure the team hard then their OoO becomes almost worthless. All the information in the world doesn't repair generators any faster.
-
Solo survivor is a brutal, awful experience, and I completely empathise with everything you've just said.
Now, as other people have pointed out, the motto "Treat other people as you wish to be treated" comes to mind, but I justify it slightly differently.
The reason why you should save others and help your team out is because then you can know with absolute certainty that you did the best you could, and got outplayed by the killer or bullshitted by the survivors. If you don't save people then you become part of the problem- the phrase "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain" springs to mind.
You could go on and not save people, ditching empathy and feelings and just try to bust through gens, or you could keep playing how you're playing and not be the very issue you complain about. Basically, you won't become a hypocrite.
Or for another explanation, you won't get any altruism points or benevolence emblem, preventing you from ranking up and finding survivors who know what they're doing more than 10% of the time. You need 7-10 points to pip at red ranks, meaning you'll need a gold in lightbringer and chaser provided you last long enough to get a bronze in unbroken, or die fast enough to get a bronze in benevolence. Trying to pip whilst ignoring an entire category isn't the easiest, and this means you'll safety pip very often or even de-rank, ensuring you never escape the hell of purple ranks.

Nevermind, that tweet was made yesterday, ok. Now it makes perfect sense. Thank you. Hopefully the update comes out today soon
I'm glad this was cleared up for you :)
If it helps the patch is scheduled for release in about 12 and a half minutes from when I post this?

Yeah, they delayed it. Ok. In the dev stream they said it goes live on Tuesday but oh well
The tome goes out Wednesday. The patch is still scheduled for today. The issue with time zones is that while it comes out 11am for people on Montreal, I know for a fact it comes out between 4 and 5pm where I live, and it'll be even later for you since you're 2 hours ahead of me. Just have patience.

Who've left us without a patch like once and told us a day in advance.

It's the only good thing I ever experienced playing against P3 Claudettes on Old Blackwater Swamp.
You just brought back so many repressed memories
-
Now the issue here is that the Nightmare On Elm Street licence is stuck between two people. The movie is owned by one person but the actual NOES is owned by another, making cosmetics pretty difficult as you'd need to negotiate with 2 people. But it's worse than that- because switch came out after this became an issue Freddy and Quentin are unavailable for Switch like they are for Windows Store and Mobile.
-
There is literally going to be a patch in under 24 hours which simultaneously nerfs gen speeds, most godloops and maps (except yamaoka, devs please change yamaoka) and great skillcheck bonuses. Couldn't you have waited until then to try these out and come back to see if it changed your mind? We didn't need a other post like this when at this point anyone who plays both sides knows this to be primarily the truth.
-
Okay but like I really don't think people appreciate how amazing you are for doing this all while exhausted and everything. You're an awesome person and I want to say thank you for doing this.
-
They've been on switch since the beginning, ps4 for ages, and Xbox for a couple weeks. With the exception of switch, since it was launched with them and p2p is impossible on the hardware, there were forum posts and tweets and I game announcements for all of em.

Hm, shame I guess.
I wonder if that's why we don't even see mild fixes for the shape, e.g. how he gains deviousness slower than every other killer basically (Shape gets like 300 points each time he hits EW3, which is upto like 4 times a game max and then he can't stalk anymore, whilst a trapper would get like 1000 points per trap you trigger, or a clown gets 150 points each and every time he hits you with a bottle and that actually keeps producing more points if you don't leave the gas)
Nah balancing is allowed to happen shown through the freddy rework and the many, many, many nerf to pig. Buff pig.
What I think is the issue here is the devs look at stats and see kill rate and bam he's fine. Combine that with nobody on the forum complaining about him and then nothing gets done until he gets revised from the devs' own free will.
I'm not a developer though so take that with a mountain of salt.
-
You also cannot pick The Nightmare/Quentin, as well as some other killers. This isn't because the devs don't care, it's simply because they're licensed killers. With these killers they need special permission to create cosmetics for these killers from the original creators of the franchise. This is why we have so few cosmetics for listened killers- and in some cases none.
-
Depending on the spawn of the window there is some way around it.
If the survivor is running to get a fast vault and there is a staircase going up in the same direction they're running you can go up to the second floor, then at the top there's a hole where you can drop down and surprise them, particularly if they keep holding w.
If not, tough luck, you have to chose a different survivor or lose the game. Devs have stated they wanted to look into it, but due to time constraints they couldn't.

This is what I got from Google translate. For future reference, please use the international discussions subforum or stick to using English in the main discussions subforum.
As for your issue, I recommend trying to use task manager (or the equivalent of) to shut down any outstanding programs so only dead by daylight and itself are running. Try and go into settings and change graphics to "low" and resolution to a lower level too. These should help if the issue is with framerate.
Head over to the bug reports section and put this here in their requested format to have this officially acknowledged and logged.

It depends on the context and can be used for a multitude of reasons. It isn't always toxic, and even if it is if you let people pressing crouch repeatedly get on your nerves idk what to tell you man, maybe you shouldn't be playing an online game. Any game with a crouch feature has tbagging be very prevalent and no other communities get so annoyed, so why in dbd is it such a big deal?

here is the FULL quote you have that I commented on: "People complain about tbagging so the devs are testing peoples opinion on if they think tbagging is actually unfair." (along with the general response to the thread) where are your exclamation marks? where is youre "killer mains rise up!" and anything else you JUST said you said??? I'll tell you, it's in your mind, that's where. I told you there was nothing to make anyone think you were joking or anything.
as i said before: your sarcasm was not apparent, you did not communicate it in any way what so ever. If you think going back later and stating that you said it doesn't make it true. and in person I can tell sarcasm because of vocal inflections, eye rolls, and many other things. so get over yourself here and stop making things up. enjoy!
Ah my bad, I’m confusing this with a different thread where I said basically the same thing but eoth everything at the end. Sorry for my hostility (still though, pretty obvious I wasn’t being serious).
Still, though, I’d like to emphasise that I was joking, and even if I wasn’t- how many times a day do people complain about “tbagging toxic survivors”? Therefore if it’s such a widespread issue the devs should look into it, which they’re doing.

nice sarcasm notation there.... text does not equate to understanding sarcasm when there isn't anything to say it's there. and before you say I'm always like this or read between the lines, there weren't lines to read between and i know you as much as i know the king cockroach so next time if you want to make something sarcastic include something like /sarcasm off or even :P or something to give an idea it's happening. plus I wasn't just responding to you, though yours was the most direct response. I addressed the whole thread.
Wow you must be fun at parties.
Did it not occur that, despite lack of sarcastic notation, the exclamation marks, sarcastic mocking comments of "killer mains rise up!" and the overall nature of the thread that it was, indeed, a joke?
There were lines to read between. You just missed them greatly.

Tbagging is not "unfair" it is more an attempt to taunt or demoralize someone and then feel good about yourself. I laugh especially when they do it too long and get downed and get hooked... had someone not paying attention and i downed her (character, not player didn't know if player was a he or a she) at the exit, I got to pick them up and hook them.... they cried "you're a dick!!! you should have let me go, i was at the exit!" I told them "you should have left instead of trying to taunt me there, I got you and I don't have to do anything you expect I'm supposed to kill you in game." they cried more and I laughed.
the short of it is, it's hilarious when people think it does more to hurt people.. lol it is not unfun really... just stupid to do it for that. I mean there are ways to use it to be nice, to show someone something... instances of "good" tbagging, 1-3 dips in recognition of a good play or a thank you to another survivor, another possibility is to stand on the hatch and dip several times so the person on the hook can see where the hatch is. things like that....
My guy. I was joking.
-
Devs have heard the complaints are are here to answer! We killers shall not be tbagged anymore! Killer mains rise up!

The version of DS you’re talking about is older than the dinosaurs. It’s from an era where developers were constatnly high enough and tought that, insta heals are a good idea. But having an unbearably strong version of a perk in the far past doesn’t make it’s current, still overpowered verision any less of a problem. Especially because the game is more balanced since than there is less room for things like that. And about statistics I beleve that’s official, but it’s still an incorrect information why? Neither survivors or killers start with having all the perks from the start. But once they get DS and the rest of the lame #########, they gonna use them and nothing else. Look at survivor loadouts in the end of the game. It’s the same thing again and again. Collecting global statistics that includes all platforsms, ranks, players at once doesn’t give you any reliable data, therefore numbers alone are worthless.
After all they only measure the over all use rate of these perks/match and not their pickrate among people who ACTUALLY OWNS THEM.
You would probably get a stunning result if you could see the value of that, and again, it would be more than enough to justify a nerf. Not to mention these perks are braindead and poorly designed from a gameplay perspective which is an other good reason.
Okay once again let's break this down.

This is true that DS is still problematic, but let's go back to your original wording. 'It’s stronger than ever before by being up even if you’re NOT runneling.' Hence I proved you wrong; it's actually in one of it's weakest states ever since release. The devs have improved a lot since then.
"And about statistics I beleve that’s official, but it’s still an incorrect information why?"
What does this even mean? I assume this means the official statistics aren't relevant, in which case- what?
"Neither survivors or killers start with having all the perks from the start. But once they get DS and the rest of the lame [BAD WORD], they gonna use them and nothing else."
You know that Hex:ruin, used in 80% of all matches, was also not available from the start? Yet it was still used in ######### EIGHTY PERCENT of all matches?
But again, @Kakateve, can we focus on the main point of the topic. Giving solo survivors a totem counter to help counter NOED, the perk that greatly shows the power disparity between solo survivor and swf. This topic isn't about nerfing DS- there are enough topics about that every day- so please can we return to it?

I wish to politely disagree that NOED is fine. Not because it's too strong, but because it's a badly designed perk that ensures solo survivors have an even worse time while swf can coast through easily.

I firmly believe that the Nurse is still the strongest killer in the game.
Is she fun? Not at all. Can I play her? No, I get a massive headache and incrediby frustrated and by the end of match one I want to punch several things. Is she easy? Not in the slightest; the amount of practice it takes to master the nurse is far too high for any reasonable player to want to sink in the hours.
She didn't need the basekit change, but now that she has it the devs either need to significantly shorten fatigue/shorten cooldown (one or the other), and re-work the re-worked addons to make them have some point in existing. I mean, seriously, two bloodpoint addons?
I don't know what they were thinking.

DS, BT, Unbreakable, and either adrenaline or iron will. The combination of these is what survivors use 99% of the time. Self care is trash. Nobody who plays to win runs it anymore. There is medkits after all. If pick rate alone is enough to make something nerfed, than nerfing all of these is more than justified. About DS. It’s stronger than ever before by being up even if you’re NOT runneling and really easily exploitable. But every reasonably player who plays killer knows that well. It needs to go away if someone else is hooked and you’re not on the ground. That way, it could’t be used for more than fulfilling it’s purpose.
Okay so let's break this down bit by bit.
"DS, BT, Unbreakable, and either adrenaline or iron will. The combination of these is what survivors use 99% of the time. Self care is trash. Nobody who plays to win runs it anymore. There is medkits after all."
Here's where you're wrong.
According to Peanits, an official dbd developer, self care is used comparable to old ruin, that is in ~70-80% of games if I remember correctly. So people definitely still use self care, and win with it.
According to Peanits in that same comment, perks like DS, BT, Unbreakabill, Adrenaline, and Iron Will are not used anywhere near as much- with DS being the highest of those perks at ~40% usage rate.
"If pick rate alone is enough to make something nerfed, than nerfing all of these is more than justified."
Incorrect. Ruin was nerfed because of its high pick rate (again, 80%) and its passive benefit to the killer from the beginning of the trial. Even if it was based on pick rate though, the perks listed above are not justified in being nerfed from it, since their pick rate is half or less than ruin and self care.
"About DS. It’s stronger than ever before by being up even if you’re NOT runneling and really easily exploitable."
According to the Official Dead By Daylight Wiki, Version 1.2.1 of the game held a version of decisive strike which worked:
-While on the shoulder
-Would stun for 5 seconds
-Was up indefinitely.
This perk could be used by all survivors when they were on the shoulder of the killer, regardless of if they were the obsession or not. Later in Version 1.3.0 this was nerfed to 4 seconds, and later the "If you are not the obsession" category was imemented.
If you're trying to tell me decisive strike wasn't stronger in the first two iterations than it is now, I don't know what to tell you. Yes, it's easily exploitable and needs more changes but as of right now it's in a decent spot, is less abusabke than the first two iterations of the perk, is weaker than the third iteration of the perk (Version 1.4.0). Only in Version 2.6.0 did it become weaker than it currently is.
Feel free to fact check on the wiki btw.
"But every reasonably player who plays killer knows that well. It needs to go away if someone else is hooked and you’re not on the ground. That way, it could’t be used for more than fulfilling it’s purpose."
I agree, it needs tweaking and this seems to be a reasonable way of changing it. I personally would also like a "If you were the most recent survivor hooked" instead of "when another survivor is hooked" because then it ensures only one ds can be active at any one time.
But this isn't what the topic is about. It's about giving solo survivors, arguably the weakest role in the game, a totem counter to assist them in reaching the level of strength of a swf on comms. This is something I wholeheartedly agree with.
-
@Kakateve said:
There is perks available already against totems. It’s just that, survivors have no spare slots for them because bringing in all the possible braindead second chance meta pers is more inportant than mixing up the loadout with something else..,Survivors won’t use no NOeD counters or any orher perk as long as meta perks aren’t recived the Ruin treatment. Starting with nerfing DS would be a great leap forward.
Ruin was nerfed because of its high usage rate. Over 80% of all matches.
The only survivor perk that comes close to that usage rate is self care.
Also ds has been nerfed many times before. I'll very gladly take the one we have now where you literally slug them and chase the unhooker (stbfl is a good perk try it) instead of the 5 second stun on pickup where juggling was the only counter, doesn't matter about obsession, can be used by all 4 survivors at any point in the match. That had no viable counterplay. This one does.

its just hilarious seeing a survivor talking about crutch perks when 95% of every survivor full slots himself with crutch perks =) yeah how dare killers actually bring good perks you gotta respect the survivor rules first,so rude!
Hi, I am one of those who firmly believe noed is a crutch perk from my own experience of it becoming a crutch perk, how can I help today?
I avoid using crutch perks as much as I can, because I don't want to be reliant on them. I still complain about noed, not because it's strong, but because the weaker solo teams are often the ones affected and the stronger swf teams usually aren't.
"Oh just do bones" I do. My usual build consists of Inner Strength and Detective's Hunch. I run a map. I'm responsible for all 5 totems more often than not. Without me on the team that killer would have noed and what little chance my team had would've died.
Totem counters are an important thing to have available to all solo survivors. Why? Because it brings them closer to swf level. Know what happens when solo and swf are closer? The devs can buff killers without making solo survivor the worst gaming experience known to man.
"How dare killers use good perks" Using good perks and becoming reliant on perks are two different things. I've met killers who get two downs during the main game, I'm hunting for totems as my team do gens. I do 4 and then the most obscure totem is the one left standing, that's the one with noed, bam Pop killer slugs with noed and ######### hits the fan. I've found myself becoming reliant more recently on Pop Goes the Weasel like I was on old ruin and noed, so I've tried swapping out alternatives, even giving new ruin a shot.
Killers can use strong perks like survivors can use strong perks. Just don't complain about the survivor's strong perks when you use yours. If you don't use either then feel free to complain.
-
I like how there are a lot of people saying "When God loops are removed/strong interconnecting tiles are nerfed" like the ptb hasn't been out for ~2 weeks now. Like, seriously? You name check Thompson and Ormond like they aren't being reworked next patch.
Op, I agree. Bloodlust is a bad mechanic theoretically, or will be after this new update. Personally I don't think it should be flat-out removed, but instead tweaked significantly. I don't know how, but I feel like removing it flat-out would be a bad idea.
As for your idea of map balance, couldn't agree more. It rewards good survivors and punishes bad ones, exactly what we need.
-
Aight cya.
Adding an extra generator is a horrible idea. Not only does this open the door for a 2-gen lockdown making Doctor the literal strongest killer in the game, but it also takes what people have been complaining about for survivors and throws it all out the window.
"Oh buh Muh 4man death squad" How often do you face a death squad, really? I face them at most on an awful day 1 in 20 killer games at Red ranks, and even then it could be I was having an off match and they were just good solos. Solo survivor becomes literal hell, swf can't afford to meme anymore, and it becomes one large sweatfest. Killers who have played for years against God loops and maps being bs now become unbeatable and solo survivors quit because they literally can't win with randoms unless the killer is rank 15.
This just to name like 3 effects this would have.
That idea is awful and there are so many better ways of balancing the game. Please, think before you open your mouth.
-
Welcome to the solo survivor experience, we hope you enjoy your stay.
But seriously, solo survivor is absolute torture if you get teams like you described. At this point don't play to rank up or to escape, play to have as much fun as a solo survivor as you can. If this means try and run the killer for as long as possible, or be immersive and do gens, be the totem hunter, or even if its just one perk that allows you to have fun, play how you need to.
Hopefully the MMR system fixes this because seriously, solo is awful.

Imagine arguing with a developer over official stats that only one person has access to

No im not psychic. But I have hope founded on some pretty solid evidence. One guy yesterday asked me to play despite not touching the game since 2018, I bought him Demise Of The Faithful and we had some fun messing around with Head On. He said he had a blast and he might come back to see what it's like for killers when the update hits. Here's some proof (names censored cause he didn't want his name shared and cause I don't wanna be stalked to insta or whatever):
He was a hardcore killer main who left because was sick of the bs, but asked me to keep him updated on any major changes. Ds change wasn't enough for him, breakable walls wasn't enough, but these changes clearly were.
I have other friends who said they'd return too.
Basically yeah I'm hoping, I don't know for certain, but I have some evidence to found that hope off of

I will try my best with my bad english. For devs little changes maps, breakable walls, reduce cop action is just little to late, damage is done. Red- Purple rank killers are mostly likely done. This is reason why green- yellow killers are matched with reds. It is simple, there are not enough killers especially in better ranks. And worst part of this is: new matchmaking cant simple fix lack of killers in game. It is basic logic, if you dont have red rank killers equip to number of red rank survivors, no matter how perfectly you repair matchmaking, you lack of people. Devs need to maek game actractive for killers to stay. But now killers just feel cheated by SWF and Coms. There is hundreds of posts about SWF and game balance. So many post how COMS are free perks in one pack. Some people on forum agrument by: friends talk about how was their day ect. But even single sencetece: it is pig / i am chased / killer have spirit fury/ this gen is 90%/ he is camping - hook dont come/ are serious problem. I just feel like game will be not heathly balanced since SWF will be not touched. Changes are simply not enough.
I agree. Little basic changes aren't enough. The developers reworking over half of the maps in the game to remove most of the bs and make them more killer sided is not a little basic change, it's revolutionary. I've seen the maps, they're completely different and I love it.
So yes, new matchmaking can't fix a lack of killers. What an excellent thing the follow change has many killers returning, and will make winning games as killer easier than ever so more people can reach higher skill points/ranks (depending on which system we're on about here). This leads to less of a deficit of skilled killers which leads to fewer outlier situations like this. Hence why I brought up lots of killers returning in my oringal response.

You deserved it, if you DC.
So if you crash, or EAC kicks you because your headset has pretty colours, or you're stuck in an infinite loading screen, or a multitude of other game-breaking bugs that occur and the game cannot distinguish between intentional dc and game bugging out, it's your fault for being a filthy disconnecting scumlord. Gotchu.

Because this is yet another matchmaking post here's the same response you suallt get:
Matchmaking has been broken for a while. In the January developer update, the devs revealed a plan to roll out an improved matchmaking system, taking player skill instead of rank into account, which would hopefully improve game quality overall. Please find this and read up on it.
About your other comment on killers not wanting to stay; are you serious? We are about to receive one of the most monumental updates in a long time (provided they took ptb feedback for ironworks and fixed the mother's dwelling bug) which will make life so much easier for killers. Co-op gen speeds will slow, god loops will be gone, skillcheck bonuses will be halved, and its looking like something we needed. This patch will, hopefully, be excellent for game health and bring back red rank killers who were sick and tired of the awful map design.
I've had friends say they're actually going to check these changes out- friends who haven't played since 2018 for crying out loud- and I know a lot of people are excited for it. If people feel the need to leave after devs (hopefully) fix matchmaking and god loops then this game isn't for them.
Killers are going to have it the easiest they've had it since the release of the game in 2016, and hopefully some so buffs and overall killer tweaks will bring it up to the correct level.

Emulators can bind in keyboard as well. So you'd still use wsad or whatev to move and mouse to look.
Personally, I won't touch dbd mobile unless it gets full controller supp, because controls are so ass.
Sadly, we will get told to take the discussion to the dbd mobile site, which has no place for discussion.
But you can't. Dbd mobile uses a touchpad to move that cannot be bound to wasd in any way. It needs a mouse input for a mouse click, and even if you rebind it to instead be a keyboard press instead of a mouse click, you still need 2 cursors which most emulators don't provide--BlueStacks being one of them.
It doesn't have full controller support because that gives an unfair advantage to everyone. Trying to use a controller nets the same result as trying to use mouse and keyboard; it doesn't work.
-
But also, pc inputs don't function very well with mobile. You need both fingers and only have one mouse.

Hackers can get a hold of your cloud-id through some method or another and then change what platform you play on. It happened to Scott and Monto, but I think Ardetha was the first to experience it. Either this person is a hacker, or they've been hacked. Because of the legacy, I'm more inclined to think they're the hacker here, but either is possible.
In response to your title, no legacy is not coming to consoles, and according to the devs will never return. Because of how difficult it was to achieve legacy and how much worse the grind was, they want to preserve how special it was. It's the one cosmetic they promised to remain exclusive.

Because Iron Will is such a low tier perk that has absolutely no value against any other killer. /s

If you don't camp the pallet then it's not unsafe.
Also for anyone wanting to say the stand still trick isn't intended or some BS, the game LITERALLY tells you to do this...
As someone who uses iron will religiously, I'm aware of the value it has. Unfortunately when playing solo you need a lot of your perk slots to have a fun match (not to stand a chance, to have fun). DS to save you from tunneling as there's no team to communicate to, kindred so people can actually coordinate, usually then an exhaustion perk and one other perk of your choice. To counter spirit you'd need to put on iron will and probably spine chill, iron will then being countered by stridor too making the perk a lot more useless than it usually is.
I admit you don't need any perks to escape as survivor, but to have fun is a different story. You shouldn't need to run a perk to counter a style of play. This goes for killers and for survivors, and shows the issues with the game.
