Many survivors in my games are doing this, so they do exist.
It's not about whether or not they exist, it's about what the value is.
Stacking the perk is only relevant if the same person is getting hooked over and over, in which case it's an anti-tunnel perk working against tunnelling.
Daisy-chaining it has no value, it just shifts the risk around from one person to the next. It's just using the perk for the sake of using it.
Not unlike "gen-defense is fine, as long as I can gen rush through it". There is a difference between the perk being anti tunnel and it being overturned above everything else.

A 'gooder' Killer lol.
I wish there was a 2v6 mode, that was more serious like normal 1v4. With the right tweaks, it could be really fun and actually competitive, assuming BHVR sells the rights to dbd. :/
I actually enjoy 2v8 way more nowadays. Having no perks actually feels good as killer since you don't have to deal with all the BS survivors have nowadays, with little detriment for you since all good killer perks were nerfed anyways. Also, it's way rarer to find an 8 man swf than a 4 man, so I guess the most unbalanced thing in the game is kinda fairer in 2v8.
-
What I have been using lately is Pentimento, Plaything, Pain Resonance, and Dead Man's Switch. When the killer I am playing has consistent stealth in their power, I switch Pentimento and Plaything for Grim Embrace and Surge. It works pretty well, unless it's a really coordinated SWF, but I mean, what wins a good SWF anyways?
-
You have been playing generator repairing simulator for eight years, it's not like totem cleansing is any more or less exciting...
-
I think the difficulty of the "hard" killers is relative. Nurse and Spirit are easy as long as the survivor is a potato and just holds forward. You will only get good with these killers if you get survivors that know how to counter them.
Also, I would put Billy on the advanced category. He is really hard.
-
LoL, are you new around here pal?
-
Survivors can run whatever they like, and killers can play in any way they like as well. I blame the game, not the player. The thing with anti tunnel perks is how the two strongest of them, DS and OTR, feel cheap because of the amount of benefit they give and the fact that they have basically no drawback. Babysitter, Blood Rush, and BT are all strong but they don't feel terrible to get hit by, specially since you can't use them as aggressively as the other two.
OTR is just a free health state out of hook, simple as that. You get 80 seconds of superpowers. If you get chased, free health state, if you don't get found in that time, you will get healed anyways. Going against DS on the other hand feels less miserable since if you suspect the survivor has DS you just slug them and get the pressure. It just feels bad when you are not sure the 60 seconds have passed and you decide to risk the DS anyways and then, surprise, get DSed. It's like NOED in that sense, you have no indicator of if the other side has it or not.

Things have changed Borrowed time used to be king, but now it's pretty much seems to be rare. It's a good thing they add base BT.
Actually, a lot of survivor perks were just power crept with time with no one nerfing them. Inner Strength, Soul Guard, Pharmacy, and Vigil used to be in every game in the past, but now you don't really see them over new toys.
-
Myers, as he is the one with the oldest kit.
-
Nothing?
-
Interesting how Dance With Me is on the top 10, I particularly never see it in my games. On the other hand, shocked by the lack of DS, DH, and OTR.
-
4 survivors alive means more people working on gens, more people healing each other, more people to waste time chasing. So obviously swapping a hook state is massively game changing since it's more time the game is in a state where 4 survivors are alive.

Counterplay to Off The Record - simply hit the survivor off of the hook to delete Off The Record off of the newly unhooked survivor or hit the survivor unhooking the survivor with Off The Record.
Counterplay to Shoulder The Burden - the survivor that normally does it typically will unhook the survivor — they literally scream and become exposed, which I believe Otzdarva came up with said perk and didn't have the proposed downsides that Behavior slapped onto the perk anyways. The only way that I could see this perk being problematic is in a coordinated SWF team where one person takes the burden and another unhooks said survivor allowing the trade to be more easier and seamless... something that you will not come across in many of your games as most people normally play solo-queue anyways.
The perk has too many downsides, as least for me personally to fit into my build so I don't see any problems with it. The only people I see complaining about said perk are people who easily want to tunnel off rip causing a 3v1 early into the game.
The counterplay to Off the Record feels like: Pop Goes the Weasel now does 50% gen regression - Just repair the gen.
-
I came from the future and I say that Shoulder the Burden came to be absolutely broken. The exposed time made no difference at all.

How about no?
Why killers have counterplay to everything but I have to bring anti-totem perk to have slightly chance to have normal game or have no use from it at all?
I really wish I had a counterplay to Off the Record and Shoulder the Burden, even if it was a perk...

I’ve been playing a lot of survivor ever since this perk dropped an I have to say it has single handedly won us so many games. Even when killers have one gen left and are desperately trying to get one kill to try and bring the game back it doesn’t matter.
People may not realize it but I’m calling it now this is the new meta pick. If you want to win you WILL bring this perk. Forcing a killer to spread hooks in this tunnel meta is just so strong. I won 9 out of 13 matches today 3-4 person outs
I think that this is the time for us to realize how necessary tunneling is. This perk would not be that string if playing Mr. Nice Guy was viable. I think it is the best time for the devs to implement a system that gives the killer a chance to win without getting rid of a survivor early.
-
That's why I never let a survivor go!
-
I think that people are misinterpreting her level of strength. It isn't that she is weak. When you start playing her, you kinda notice that she isn't much better or worse than Wesker, Knight, Chucky, Dracula, and Demogorgon, it's just that killers are weak and need way too much to be viable nowadays. As it stands, only Nurse, Blight, and Artist are viable against the high level, which is unfortunate.

To be honest, removing map offerings would just be a bandaid solution to terrible map design. However, the devs stated that they don't have a problem with maps being the decider factor of who wins or loses the match, so they might as well get them removed.
-
Despite the killer queues, I played basically only killer in that mode and I had an absolute blast. The game felt much less survivor-sided than the regular 1v4 mode. In all fairness, if they added every killer to the mode and made it permanent, I would never play regular DbD again.

I dont think Houndsense is designed to be strong. The main appeal is just the information, the extra bits are just that… extra. They arent meant to do much, just provide a small boost or effect.
Id say that my only gripe is that it can sometimes be punishing due to the exists of Made For This giving Survivors 3% Speed versus a (mostly) M1 Killer, but not many players use MFT in this day and age after the nerfs awhile back. But like, it's not even a bonus, it's basically a nothing burger since she is not the type of killer who gets any value from these effects.
-
She is basically Wesker with a search mechanic and no virus contamination. D tier.
-
As the representative of the killer main association, I inform you that we will give you the PTB Shoulder the Burden back when we receive back the old Eruption, Pop Goes the Weasel, Ruin, Thanatophobia, Call of Brine, Overcharge, Save the Best for Last, Sloppy Butcher, No One Escapes Death, and Pain Resonance. Once that is done, we will consider releasing your hostages.
-
To be honest, I have been basically only playing 2v8 since it launched, and the same thing happened with its first iteration. Imo, 2v8 is much more fun than the regular mode for a number of reasons.
-
To be honest, there should be voice chat and it should be universal. The difference between SWF and solo is enormous and the main cause is the lack of voice chat. By implementing global voice chat, it would allow the devs to balance the game around it. Text chat would not make sense, at least for killer in 2v8, since killer gameplay is naturally much more dynamic. Of course, there should be an option to disable voice chat, as there is in any game.
-
I mean, I just think that good game design is balancing it for both sides…

Technically it’s better to go for recently hooked survivors because if there are survivors near them their cages won’t move. If you play as Hillbilly, Blight, Wraith, or Huntress you can really exploit this.
True. Tunneling is way more effective. If you hook every survivor once, survivors will get 8% repair bonus. However, if you tunnel the same survivor aggressively, survivors only get 3% repair bonus and they are permanently crippled by 1/8 of their team's capacity. That's simply math.
-
I will say: 2v8 > Lights Out > Chaos Shuffle. My little Oni was just an April fool's thing.
-
Yeah, gen speeds are awful and everyone knows that. The system that they implemented makes going for fresh hook survivors a stupid decision. In this mode, as it is, the incentive structure is for you to aggressively tunnel survivors out for a better outcome.
-
I was also experiencing the issue and wanted to go on the forums to see how I could avoid the bug. Thank you

Huntress 115, I want what ever you're smoking, she still needs her buffs reverted my guy.
She is a 110% killer with no map pressure whatsoever and an okay chase. She is currently one of the weakest killers in the game and seriously needs beefy buffs.

Go watch his showcases against high level players. He is absurdly strong and I don't know how people can't see it. He's an A+ killer at worst and probably the strongest killer in the game after nurse, blight, billy.
High level matches with Chucky are like:
Get some downs > get absolute gen rushed because you are a potato and have no map pressure whatsoever > 4 man escape.
Chase oriented killers with no way to pressure survivors are simply not viable anymore and haven't been for a long time.
-
I would imagine that it would be on The Decimated Borgo realm since it is the one that has the middle age aesthetics, and I am all for it since I like the visuals of those maps.
-
I think they need permission from the license holders to rework killers. If they are reworking Freddy, I think they got to an agreement with the people who own A Nightmare on Elm Street, which I hope means we are finally getting some Freddy cometics.
-
This is a result of the terrible hatch mechanic that essentially puts the game in a coin flip. If you are a killer and going for a 4k (adept for example) it is better to maximize your chances by slugging and not relying on a random hatch to get the fourth kill.
-
The only form that is weak and pointless is the wolf, the other two are pretty solid but not OP. Bat is mainly for mobility, it really isn't much stronger than a Dredge teleport for example.
-
I find baffling how people think that Chucky deserves a nerf. He is still a 110% killer with absolutely no map pressure. I honestly think he deserves a buff. Actually, from these killers, the only actual strong one that could be justified a nerf is Vecna.

Becauae they've nerfed the maps so much they are almost all deadzones. All these arguments about why woo is too necessary actually just show why it should be basekit.
Yeah, maps now aren't packed with jungle gyms stacked on top of each other and actually require survivors to have a brain to know how to loop on them. Except if they have WoO ofc.
-
Off the Record. Whenever I hit a survivor and they turn white I just lose 1% of my soul.
-
@Autharia said:
It really doesn't. It's the same as running Zanshin Tactics pre buff. A new survivor will get some use from it to learn a map and a 5k+ hour one wont really use it.
That's not true at all. Old Zanshin Tactics woudl never have the same value as WoO simply for the difference between the roles. As a survivor, you decide which loop you should go next in a chase and ultimately you are the most interested party in knowing where the closest loop with a pallet is.
However, as a killer, it doesn't really matter knowing which loops are close and which ones still have a pallet because:
- If a pallet has been broken, it is because you did it.
- Even if you know where the next loop the survivor is going, I makes no difference since you can't really stop them.
That's why Zanshin Tactics was never used and got reworked and WoO appears every game in more than one survivor.
-
The only killers that make sense being 110% are Hag and Spirit. Deathslinger, Huntress, Chucky, and Trickster should be 115%. It doesn't make sense these killers being 110% when there are 115% killer with much better chase powers and actual 4v1, like Artist, Blight, Plague, and Unknown.

Well, thanks for clarifying. I'm currently working on a list of Perk buffs/nerfs/changes/reworks.. that's why I have so many Perk questions haha
Yeah, to be honest, if I were to change it, I would just make it activate on every gen. It just makes sense, specially since it only applies to the obsession and the totem aura is revealed. In the current state of the perk, it is worthless.

Billy and Bubba look nothing alike visually like Sadako and Kayako does, except that they both have a chainsaw. And if I had the power at BHVR, I would just delete Bubba from the game. His gameplay is very uninteresting for both sides.
There are ways to make a Killer do something more unique even if they share the same type of weapon. For example, I'd replace Bubba with Chainsaw Man. That would be a really cool Killer.
Bubba is a horror icon. He would be in the game eventually no matter what. Chainsaw Man isn't even horror to begin with. But again, we have Wesker, Dracula, and Trickster so I suppose this doesn't matter as much anymore.
-
I didn't realize how dependant survivors were of WOO until these temporary game modes started. Sure, I would see 4 WOO per game, but that doesn't mean they are dependant on it. But taking this perk off makes such BIG difference.
Every normal, survivors have the most optimal path and always know where to go. However, in a temporary mode without perks, I see that most survivors run around like headless chickens and often go for a deadzone. That's when I realized how impactful this perk is.
-
I would say Portrait of a Murder. Artist is an excellent killer, her perks are excellent, Jonah is really cool, and his perks are also solid. Whenever someone asks me which chapter they should get first, I recommend this one.
Now if we are talking about vibes and aesthetics, I like Spark of Madness, Roots of Dread, and All Things Wicked.
-
No, I also thought it would activate everytime survivors completes a gen, but it is just the first. So once it is cleansed it is gone. When I discovered this I thought "oh, this perk is actually thrash".
-
Just because we already have Sadako, which is a ghost Japanese girl, it doesn't mean we can't get another. We have Billy and Bubba and they are both rednecks with chainsaws. Also, Kayako is pretty cool.
-
Just revert her to her original state.
-
He is actually a very okay killer. His wolf form is useless. 99% of the time you are better off using vampire form rather than wolf form. The thing is that the vampire form isn't that crazy either, it is just slightly better Nemesis. The bats are solid though.
