  • I'm curious what was the play here?

    wat.gif

Should I just have guessed that the alien wouldn't be using M2 instead and dropped the pallet? Seems like an odds that heavily in her favor.

Careful. Only Killers allowed to be miserable and complain and uninstall. Otherwise, when Survivor are miserable they just need to "adapt."

    Killer hypocrisy at its finest.

Careful they might bring up stuff relevant years ago like it was WW2.

Diverse on low ranks. Not so diverse on the higher mmr.

GWas funny that you pulled the low/red ranks card but I'll bite. ot stats on that bud?

People REALLY like going only against the same 3 killers every match.

Is that the reason the pick rate for killers is incredibly diverse right now? Are you stuck in DBD 3 years ago?

Do you think that we were born yesterday?

this killer can destroy any torrent with his tail attack, and he has addons to reduce the torrents effectiveness. Not only mention that you can’t place torrents mid chase, so if you are pushed to an area away from torrents, you are basically dead. Also, there is a limit of placement for those torrents, if there is one across the map, you will have to carry this until another area of interest (you lose a lot of time due to the negative status gained). Also, if you get hit while carrying the torrent, it explodes. Also, many players have been exploiting the oppressive power of alien to tunnel down and camp at 5-4 gens. Because it is easy to to that, they eliminate a player from the game and guarantee a win because, guess what, the slowdown of this killer requires a heavy and coordinated team work to have a small chance to survive.

stop trying to hide the problem by gaslighting other people’s experiences in the game.

Preach brother these Alien enjoyers on damage control so it doesn't get Nerfed

Naymeti has few good videos on running Xeno a lot of W and predropping very similar counterplay to Oni.

I just watched his recent video and I am not impressed. Cried begging for heals and practically doomed everyone when he didn't start finishing the last generator.

Last match was an Alien that MISSED even when the Survivor run to a wall lmao. That alien was a beginner and he only demonstrated one instance of counter play throughout the entire video. An Above average survivor that only looks good due to cherry picking minimum 'plays'

  • @Nirgendwohin said:

On thing about the "just dodge the tail". you can't do that based on input, you only can gamble.

the tail has a wind up time of 200ms. if both players have an average ping of 50 ms, that means 100ms go by until the survivor can see the tail wind up. if the survivor has the world fastest reaction time he lose another 180ms before his finger can press a button. so you got hit 80 ms before you can react to any audio or visual clues. and dont forget the additional 100ms that takes to show the survivors action on the killers screen, which has priority for hits. I don't even want to get started on the size of the hitbox and how many meters you move in ms and how the xeno can drag the lingering hitbox.

in summary: it is not possible to dodge the tail attack just by reacting. you can only gamble and if the killer is somewhat competent, then he aims for the middle of your hitbox and always hits because of ping.

It's like death slinger quickscoping in that sense except this dumb killer suffers zero repercussion for missing.

I hope they never retexture it or change it

I just hope they keep it vaulted until Chapter 13 returns to DbD. I feel like it will at one point. Especially with the success of Alien so far. Netflix have probably heard and will want to take part in that competition for money.

If they'll ever allow BHVR to use the license again it would close to when Season 5 drops. Just like what Peacemaker and The boys are doing with MK.

  • Last time I complained about a killer was Legion first month and his myriads of problems like infinite mending time or moon walk or just spamming you with his frenzy until you die. Alien is so ######### unfun to get chased there's almost zero outplay it's not even funny. I could get into a match and not drop a single pallet since safe ones like a car pallet become a total death sentence.

    F this killer bro.

  • Her tail is like a better Nemesis tentacle and isn't even punishable most of the time if the Xeno misses.

If you're back from years off, wouldn't your MMR be super bad? You're probably just getting meh survivors.

Personally my difficulty as killer depends on the killer I use. I main Clown and I always seem to get sweaty gen rushers with meta builds, and I might get a 4k sometimes but it's usually a 2-3k, or a loss sometimes. But I use other killers and it's like I am playing against bots sometimes.

Also maybe you're just using high meta killers.

I don't think it's any easier to win as killer than before, especially now with the endurance meta that survivors are using. I had a Bubba match a week or so ago where I swear I had survivors tank at least ten hits and run off throughout the match, it's insane.

I'm back to Red rank if that still matters. I could carry Meh survivors two years ago with just BT and Circle of healing lol. Heck Dead hard practically makes meh survivors have a good chance of surviving.

  • @ThatRedPyramidThing said:

    I absolutely disagree.

Killer was significantly easier when basekit borrowed time didn't exist. When you could mori after first hook. When NOED had no aura. When Pop Goes the Weasel regressed by a base 25 instead of scaling. When Pain Res worked on every hook not just the first. When Ruin slowed gen repair.

Any saying Killer is easier now than then isn't remembering clearly.

Everything you mention relies on the fact that you have to down survivors lol. Like do you not remember how absurd the sprint burst you get from getting injured you can literally drag the killer from one side of the map to the other and get to the pallet and the map was bigger back then btw? The Dead hard which is frankly another health state? The absurd amount of safe pallets? The strong tiles and window rng? The map size isn't as tight right now? Tiles where you can see the red light peek through? Config files to highlights to the red light even further and fogs are non existent? The insta med kits?

Yeah Mori can turn the tides but usually at the first mori Survivors start pumping out generators and play it absolutely safe. Unless you're a top tier killer that doesn't matter. But in general it was living hell for most killers and again in general this state of the game is far easier.

"The leniency to mess around at different points in the match has been greatly reduced that you can REALLY notice survivors throwing the match by doing random BS be it cleansing totem, looting chest"

I've said a few times, that the game is at a point where time is so valuable that doing something as mundane as cleansing a totem or opening a chest can be throwing the game. It even angers your team mates at times. When your resources (pallets) are steadily depleting, dead zones are becoming more apparent (some reworked maps have deadzones from the start of the game) then it's not in your best interest to spend time doing things like that.

Yeah it's real apparent on Pentimento and Plaything builds that's another set of objectives on top of your power. It can get really oppressive as soon as you get your first hook.

  • @thisislastyearsmodel said:

Depends on who you play, I think. When I play Trapper I feel like I'm bound to lose like 80% of my games LOL

Remember the days when his power was worth more than putting 3 traps around basement? :')

Don't worry If I recall even Otz said that he's no longer a Trapper main lol.

  • @BlueRose said:

I always hear that killer has been easier than it has ever been but there are days when I can't get a single kill and feel like the mmr is matching me with ppl way above my skill set. For exp today along I played 5 matches as Wesker and haven't got a single kill and maybe 3 hooks. I can't tell you why I'm having a hard time but I am and I got to the point I do not want to touch this game for a week. My last match was the worst where I had a meg who t-bag me after every single stun and I just gave up. I dc and decided that the game isnt for me right now in my mindset. So yeah killer may be easy on avg but there are days where killer feels so much harder for me.

Unless you got some footage we really can't figure out that one. I do suggest playing as a Survivor here and there though and running Kindred. It'll open your mind on the different timings on how to apply the most pressure when you touch killer again. Don't even be shy about playing Dirty if you know it'll keep two survivors busy lol

  • Rapid brutality from Alien chapter and STBFL is gonna be wild.

  • James Sunderland. Only true silent hill 2 fans use this one.

  • They should look into adding Silent hill 4 characters. Eileen and Henry would be great. That game is officially forgotten except by the fans :(

  • Yeah the endurance status effect needs to go. I still like the movement bonus though I be zoomin in end game.

  • Lmao can't believe we're at that point where Windows of opportunity is 'Broken'.

  • Moris were fine at the time.

I wanna say its a matter of the balance changes being not so often. A lot of perks tend to get either killed off or overtuned, while many others just get left to gather dust. Even disregarding that, people tend to want to stick to a build that "wins" like the gen-kick meta from before for instance. There's hardly many people going for fun/meme builds, and would rather do what they can to get their kills/survive even if it results in them player sweaty. Many players from either side don't want to steer from the meta out of fear of encountering that toxic SWF/Killer who will BM them for bringing a non-optimal build.

There was the Unhook yourself build that I was doing with a bunch of friends before I left. It required luck offerings and using perks like Slippery meat and Up the ante if I recall. It surprisingly was doable and we had everyone unhooked theirselves plenty of times and it was funny af.

Not sure if this game changed anything if that build is still effective or not.

  • @Snowball777 said:

Made For This, Windows of Opportunity, Prove Thyself, Bond or random fourth perk of personal choice.

Play with friends and you will stomp 80% of Killers.

I really don't need Info perks since I'm just fine figuring out where everything is at on my own lol. That's why my choices are limited.

With that said I do use Kindred and Open hand randomly. I do enjoy seeing killers aura further for my own satisfaction but that's about it.

  • @Crowman said:

Build variety has always been terrible. It's just before MMR matchmaking was often unbalanced so you could get away with memey.

MMR has made it much harder to get away with meme builds and devs often don't make meaningful changes to meta that you just see the same things far more often.

Also new perks are often too weak for their conditions to activate or just don't do enough that they never have a chance to see much use.

Honestly lost count how many times I looked my perk pages and thought "What do I use". All that's left for the remaining slot is just flat out annoying killers with Blast mine and flash grenades I guess.

Yeah idk what people are talking about. Perk variety was always terrible in this game. Pre 6.1.0 every single survivor build was DS, DH, Unbreakable, And some mix of Adrenaline, Borrowed Time.

Iron will and spine chill got starched. Healing builds in general got nuked with the exception of Altruistic healing. Is it even worth running Item builds like Ace in the hole and Plunderer's instinct when items in general is just ass now?

Spine chill and iron will got starched. Medkits getting nerfed killed healing builds or healing in general with the exception of altruistic healing. I mean yeah I understand the nerfs and why it happened. But still.

  • @Sava18 said:

When did you leave? If you are talking about before 6.1.0 survivor then there was -20 perk variety.

    A little after Artist dropped.

  • Probably just a by product of calling everything toxic by default that it blurred the lines between actual toxicity and just flat out I don't like that.

  • I got called Toxic by streamer because I did a Flashlight save and blinded him twice after it lol. I didn't mean anything by it, it just made the perfect sense to confuse the killer even further and get the teammate out.

Small correction, Off the Record/DS turn off when the final gen is done. Even if they were on before the last gen pops.

Also @GaunterODimmDBD bots will now replace survivor players who DC. Pretty big thing given how impactful DCs likely were when you played.

Yeah just saw a Sadako get mostly 5 gen looped by a bot Jake. Funny stuff.

  • @Pulsar said:

The game is likely much more balanced than when you left it.

I'd even go so far as to argue that it's relatively Killer favored at average levels of play, so depending on what role you play, you might have a better time lol

Honestly yeah I admit the game is more balanced on average but just peeves me that the Nerfs are hand holding people.

Like I still can't grasp the fact that the game itself is now telling you where NOED is or Corrupt intervention shutting down when you down someone just baffles. I used to think that perk is a collaborative effort for survivors to find or wait out Corruption. Then the myriad in game information just flat out telling you what people are doing like seeing what Survivors are currently doing heck there's a separate in game icon for people getting chased that's beside the actual obsession player.

Maybe I'm just being an 'Old man' in this game since i used to argue how easy it was to figure out what your teammates are currently doing even as a Random focused survivo. if a Killer juggling four survivors and 69 perks can roughly figure out what the survivors are doing you can do the same as a chilling survivor heck Kindred at the time was such a godly perk if you have no game sense.

I do understand that this brings Random and SWF gap together though I'm just being a grumpy old man.

If you didnt know about the ruin deactivation, you probably also dont know about the ohter nerf: ruin regress speed is now 100% and not 200%.

    Other things:

Pop now destroys 30% of the current progress.

Call of brine is only 125% regression speed.

    DH got nerfed two times.

Made for this is the favourite "exhaustion"-perk now making survivor constantly 3% faster while injured

But honestly there is far too much to write. When did you stop playing? If its before basekit bt you missed two meta shake ups and lot of other stuff.

Roughly around near 2 years ago when Circle of healing was a menace so when Artist was released. Yeah base kit BT wasn't a thing since I was still running BT on some of my characters lol.

  • @HaunterofShadows said:

Well considering what news you've said you've heard so far, there's probably ######### a lot of things you should know about

Yeah like goddamn NOED appearing to survivors once it's revealed. Jesus Christ this game has gone down hill when it's inconsistently implementing Nerfs to certain hex and not the rest.

  • @Nos37 said:

    Spine Chill is now useless.

Deja Vu is always on throughout the match (this is a temporary buff while the devs work on killers taking games hostage with 3-gens).

Any Means Necessary no longer has a cooldown; use it as you please.

Vault builds was a favorite build of mine if I'm not sweating. That's a tragedy.

  • @ARTRA said:

I will tell a few random stuff if some helps.

    - Hemorrage now depletes health progress super fast when not healing. Sloopy + nurses works fine.

    - Jolt its awesome, have no CD and now makes people scream if in gens.

    - If you grab someone from a locker you have blind inmmunity during annimation, was cheeseable.

    - Perks like Off the record and desisive stricke turn off when doors are open.

    - You cant grab a survivor if they are unhooking.

    - Yes, ruin commits sudoku if someone its killed.

    - Corrupt intervention goes off if someone is downed.

    - Flashlight no longer counter Wraith by burning, Hags traps(now clean like demo portals),Nurses teleport.

-Buy wesker, hate skull merchant as killer and survivor.

There are more things but this is something hope helps.

    That's pretty helful thanks!

About time that Wraith light burn was obnoxious. That corrupt intervention turning off as well as ruin is just sad man lmao. the heck happened to this game lmao. Mechanics is just screwing people on both sides lol

  • @Rudjohns said:

Lol what is this game sense? Super powers?

Same thing killers has been using when it comes to juggling four survivors in the entire map.

Survivors can do the same thing you know? Should be easy since it's one player with a giant terror raidius.

In fact Kindred is absurdly buffed to the point that you're practically handed that information already anyway.

  • @Canas said:

Solo queue is actually a lot closer to swf now in terms of power due to the overabundance of information survivors are getting now, it's time for killers to finally catch up.

I just find this funny that you even said this considering Survivors couldn't catch up so the developers literally had to bottle fed them this information on their retinas(Probably too busy running meta builds instead of the bajillion information perks that helps them). While the killers had to figure out what the hell is going on across the whole map with mostly game sense.

Since it's a newer feature, I would imagine they're still doing behind the scenes testing and analysis to figure out if this bridged the gap enough. There will never be a perfect bridge unless they add voice chat which they seem to be against and honestly I'm with them on this one. Never add voice chat to dbd.

I would be fine with voice chat on a Casual Game mode for the memes.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/367102/when-did-dead-by-daylight-become-baby-mode-survivor

back in my day swf wasn't a word. we had to walk miles through the ormond snow just to find another survivor trying to work on generators. and it was uphills both ways!

Back in my day we had to jump through infinites to go to school.

  • @Nazzzak said:

    For balancing purposes.

If the devs balance around swf, then solo queue players will get steam rolled by killers.

If the devs balance around solo queue players, then killers will get steam rolled by swfs.

So they decided to bridge the gap between solo and swf, by giving solo information that swfs already get via comms. This way they can balance around killers and survivors as a whole.

And what's the verdict on that? Still one sided for SWF and one sided for killer vs randoms?
