  • myself, i just ignore them. wait for the killer to find me while i'm doing gens and then surrender. if the killer isn't camping/tunneling, i'll unhook them but typically won't heal them if the killer is likely to return. i got tough love.

  • someone, somewhere on here said that. please, i'm indulging my pseudo-intellectual glow once again. i've worked hard for this.

  • I am no sure how killers do it. I play killer and if I break a pallet or the survivor changes direction, they are gone. I play survivor and I can't lose a good many of them. Not complaining, I enjoy the mode but just curious as to how some people do so well.

  • saying this game needs no more anti-tunnel perks is like saying liquids need no container.

  • i am seeing some stunning abilities with a common thread, just saying.

  • i'm having a blast on both sides. Thank you, bhvr. Excellent event.

Seriously, if you can't clean house as killer in this event, rhe problem isn't the event.

  • you can still alug and camp. not sure what more killers could want.

  • i am ecstatic. killers seeing gen auras is a fair trade.

  • i love these "maybe you're just bad" comments.

One can only do as well as the team allows.

Yep, Survivor is quite challenging at the moment, especially for solo players. It's reaching the point where I'm hesitant even to start the game because one of 4 issues occurs in most of my games.

    1. The killer decides to tunnel/proxy camp someone at 5 gens.

    2. The killer is unnecessarily slugging people and won't hook them.

    3. The survivors gain the upper hand in the match, and the killer's rage quits.

    4. Teammates disconnect or die intentionally on the first hook/down.

In nearly every game I play, one or more of the issues I've mentioned occur, and I'm quite serious about this. I'm almost ready to stop playing as a survivor until these problems are addressed.

    5. when the killer does slug/tunnel/camp, as opposed to doing gens, the other survivors run over and facilitate the killer's troll session.

  • Console nurse has nothing for pc survivors and vice versa. i've played her since the beginning. unless used as a tunnel monster on console, she can't stop genrushers.

  • i've had the same issue. i don't even remember how i screwed it up now but unable to fix it.

  • i should mention that this is pc killers with this ability. draw your own conclusions.

The sooner this version of it is gone and they can work on making it have more longevity, depth and variety in the future the better. Good experiment to start with for 2v8, but this one has well overstayed its welcome now.

It's made Huntress the new Skull Merchent in normal mode. Half the lobby quits or kills themself ASAP as soon as they see her!

pc huntress and nurse are the worse case scenario for console players and vice versa. we don't move like they do.

  • The real question is why does it bother you? Not trying to be a smartass but if you find that answer, you may find how not to care about it.

  • I escaped most games last night. Tonight? 2 out of ten.

That doesn't matter. 2 killers can end a chase against a full health survivor in under 10 seconds and since there is no downtime where they need to hook their down, they can immediately repeat that.

    Expoaed effect.

Two killers traipsing about together will inevitably lose.

The game mode isn't supposed to be balanced. At least not as balanced as the main game.

It's supposed to be a mode where everyone can just mess around with their friends. It's not supposed to be as competitive and not supposed to be taken as seriously.

The fun comes from the chaos

    Amen, i'm having a blast.

  • If they do gens, they will escape almost everytime. More fun to engage the killer and go for unhooks.

  • @mecca said:

Most people have a very bad taste in their mouth surrounding the survivor mode. Something should happen to drastically shake up how to play survivor instead of only being able to run 10 meters with no counterplay against two killers tag teaming.

One person being chased leaves seven others on gens.

  • No, not on my tv. In this mode, myself and another random killer generally get 0-3 kills as a rule. Hillbilly is the only chance one has as killer. Nurse is good but even she can't traverse the distances required. Not complaining at all. I love the mode and i'm having a blast but as long as survivors know how to do gens, they will almost always escape. The size of the maps is in their favor.

That said, this is a very well thought out mode and they have done an excellent job with this. Most fun i have had in a long time.

I survive in plenty of matches playing solo queue. It is possible. Practice and learn how to play better instead of giving up. The devs aren't going to nerf killers because of threads like this. The kill rates for solo queue are right where the devs want them to be. On average you will escape more than 1/3 of your matches, even in solo queue.

Not in this event, no. Recently tracked about 30 games and escaped 3 of them, only because the killer let us. I do prefer this to the game being balanced around solo cue though.

4 anti-tunnel perks are required just to get points.

  • Wifi happens. I have it too and experience the same thing. Usually, I am fairly deep into a match as well. Just glad I don't always get banned for it.

  • I am loving the event as well. I think the sweats are in it because they are trying to ensure they make 5,000 BP before the game ends abruptly from either side. Sweat or be ended. Not much different from regular play though. As solo survivor, I am definitely killed more in the event though.

  • It is very seldom that I see a tournament of "so greats" that doesn't feature tunnel monsters. Every streamer in what they suppose to be top MMR (probably is) also has tunnelmanship as their principle perk.

You may be right about that last sentence though. They use discretion as to when and how they enact their tunnelmanship.

  • @C3Tooth said:

Cons of tunneling is leading killers to high MMR where they should not be and give killers an illusion that they're belong in high MMR.

MMR takes care of that and they actually belong there because that is how they play at top MMR.

  • I am seeing that as well. I'm on PS4. Someone made a similar post on the bug reporting board.

  • Exactly what I am seeing on PS4 right now same error message.

  • I had that on PS4 for a while, right after update. It lasted about 20 minutes but stopped for an unknown reason.

  • Yeah, for me this event has been the best to date. As long as I can at least make points, I'm happy but I wasn't escaping as solo before the event either. Like...ever. It takes swf to compete with ardent tunnel monsters. The events bring out the tunnel monsters as obviously there is no greater joy than wrecking any fun to be had in an event. For me, as opposed to 50%% of the time, it is now near 100%. Tunneling is defined as the killer returning to the hook.

I'd rather it be like this than having the game balanced around solo play any day. When swf was king as killer, it was so bad for killer.

  • I am enjoying it a great deal. Any complaints I have are directed at the community but not worth mentioning as I am working on typing at least 3 sentences a day that aren't complaining. The struggle is real. Anyways, what I would love to see is some flying animation for when you do the mystery hook thing. Just stand back and wing them at a favorite hook, I would be aghast with glee while they are cartwheeling through the air, screaming with a face of abject horror. Oh... pretty please for next year?

Great work, folks. You're awesome. Love the event.

Edit-omg, now I am even fantasizing of a bank shot bonus.

  • I am guessing you're new? Solo que has always been bad. The other day, I can't remember what It was but I escaped like 35 of 38 matches and 2 were the killer letting us escape and the other one the killer quit playing. I am not so great but it's a lot better when playing with a mic.

  • To be fair, some antigen is needed. Get steamrolled otherwise. I just don't get too aggressive, I will slug people, give them a chance. Give them a 3-5 spin twist before throwing them at a hook (I love that) and just remain casual.

  • Solo Q is agonizing but something about It feels more pure. No advantages. No real information. Just sight and sound.

  • Much love to you folks. This game has come a long way. I literally bought this on the very first day on PS4 and had no idea what to expect. I believe there was just 5 killers then and rumors of a Halloween chapter. I think PC may have already had the Halloween chapter. I knew nothing about dbd but had read of it on a Friday the 13th forum. I was unemployed and unemployable at the time, so I became fixated on this game, lest I find a job. Omg, I did so many dumb things early on as I had no idea what was going on and why. I read the directions but not real thoroughly.

I quickly fell in love. Even before understanding the game this happened. I knew something unique and brilliant was unfolding in this realm. As a lifelong fan of horror, this is what I always wanted in a videogame. 7 years later....7 years...and 6000 hours later and here I remain.

I used to love the original call of duty-modern warfare 2. I watched it slowly fall into disrepair due to hackers. I never thought anything could replace the passion I had for that game. In comes bhvr...I sincerely mean this. I am so grateful for all your hard work. I encourage others to support this game by purchasing cosmetics. I can easily see another 10 years for this wondrous creation.

I have invested approximately 2000 dollars into this game. I love it. I am at a financial low point right now but I plan on a spending spree on this game when I get out of my current circumstances. I love you folks. May God bless you and yours. Happy Anniversary.

  • Yeah, I've gotten to the point of just leaving items and bp bonus offerings alone. Just a waste when I'm tunneled out with 5 gens left or genrushed with 2 hooks in. Just the way it is.

  • Another thing, people tunnel or genrush because that is just what is being played right now. The game is squelching any points for the opposition. For that, I blame the community. I played 38 games as solo survivor yesterday. I escaped 3. One, because the killer just stood in the middle of the map pondering existence and the other two because the killer let us. It has been rough. Vecna, the most powerful killer to date, with all these spells, is ironically the one, true tunnel monster forespoken of in the necronomicon.

I know im gonna get made fun of but i get the most sweatest matches. I bring perks that are meme and fun and i get a 30 second match cause i get gen rushed by really strong toolboxes

I do too. I just never cave in to the proper response, which is tunneling. That whole thing about "becoming what you hate" is real. So, I let them have at it, given they need me frothing at the mouth and running around like a demented loon to justify their antics. I just remain casual and enjoy my 2 or 3 hooks. "Be the change you wish to see in the world."+Ghandi.

I used to be the aforementioned demented loon. Very much so. I would face camp and tunnel. The works. Then, record it and rewatch it later to quell my doubts about my own sanity. ("Those teabags! They made me act like this!)

It had the opposite effect however. I became embarrassed that I was acting like a nut job on front street. Others...they were seeing this. Yes, I clutched my pearls.

What helped me the most and continues to help me? Playing both sides. Not only from a sanity through understanding standpoint but I learned how to play both roles better, albeit limited by "what I would do if I was them" and trying to counter before they do what they be trying to do.

Nowadays, it has been a practice so long, that I enjoy the game 90% of the time (contingent on my frame of mind, of course).

  • Very good. Thank you for the information. Is the time spent playing entirely random?

  • Well, it's no mistake that i've had the monikers that I have and the gameplay results to prove it. I just can't get away from that dude.

    My lute though, yo.

  • Something is different with PC 360s now. They are more effective than they once were.

  • I very seldom see an idle killer and I have over 6000 hours in the game.

When I am standing idle, it's because I am sick of the crap. Usually from an untouchable PC squad. They exist and I want nothing to do with them.

  • I'll add the box when they let me.

  • Another thing about Martyrs. I am not someone that likes extreme horror or torture porn whatsoever. Martyrs is extreme but the story is enriched because of it.

  • Hush and the exorcism of Emily Rose are two of my favorite films. I have always wanted to see fido but haven't yet. I actually spoke to the writer/director of exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister and black phone. He like two of my comments on X. I was bug eyed and loony for hours.

He had made a thread about how "when evil lurks" was the best horror film he had ever seen. A strong statement. Especially, since like you said, there is so many great films. I have to say though. I just rewatched the when evil lurks dude's first film and nothing compares. We have all heard this before but terrified and when evil lurks are undoubtedly the two scariest films I have ever seen. Dude is from Argentina and the films are subtitled in Spanish. Dude....is a maniac.

  • It is most definitely a PC thing. I would love to see a console survivor capable of pulling this maneuver off.

  • Next game, only slighter longer but I got 3 hooks. To quote TruTa1ent, "the killer can't be 4 places at one time". As much as people complain about gen rush and tunneling, I think most secretly love both. The opportunity to completely eradicate any competition is the main theme I am seeing.
