Ds is op?? I honestly can't believe people are still calling it op after being nerfed.
Killers complain just as much as survivors so please stop with the bias
DS wasn’t even OP before this past nerf. The old old DS was OP but that is way behind us. My problem with previous DS was survivors using it offensively but it’s intended use was fine. I do think current DS could use a small buff but it’s in a decent spot. Not sure how people still think it’s OP either lol.

Yes put it on my profile please. I’ll keep bumping it so it never leaves :)

Please don’t hurt my feelings 😖

I hope she’s still fun and viable as well. I’ll be testing her out on the PTB and suggest any changes that she might need to make her better. I’ll still be a Spirit main no matter what happens though.
-
I will
-
Iron Maiden doesn’t impact the game, it’s just a feel good perk to have on Huntress for me. It’s the same reason people run Shadowborn on Nurse.

>It only affects you when you're injured.
>It doesn't affect things like scratch marks and blood which can be tracked.
>Its useless if your caught in the open.
>It only affects you. So if there's a weak link on the team you can't carey them.
>Its only useful at things like large walled tiles, which can still be mind gamed.
You're acting like its giving survivors free wins, when it sounds like you're just getting outplayed by a strategy that is signaled to you as soon as you injure someone.
Those are not weaknesses, those are things the perk doesn’t do lmao. Might as well say Surveillance doesn’t affect totems therefore it has a downside.

You act as though survivors don't use their brain when using Iron Will. As though the perk is strong even if the survivor holds W. Which isn't the case.
Your claim that Iron Will requires no skill is wrong. Its useless if you don't make good plays with it, and if they make a good play... their perk worked as intended and you're upset that you got punked and didn't predict an Iron Will play from a user that you know is running it.
And your notes on Ruin and Corrupt are just wrong. You'd be performing those strategies ANYWAY even if you didn't have those perks. So why you're acting like these somehow fundamentally change how you play is pretty funny.
Even if Corrupt or Ruin didn’t require skill, don’t act like Iron Will does either. Also, what downside does Iron Will have that warrants being a strong perk when Corrupt and Ruin have risks? I’ll wait.

Wow. 4k posts in one year. That's crazy.
And I joined the forums on October 24, 2020, so less than a year technically. I’m very dedicated to this game lol.

Agitation takes no skill or thought.
Corrupt Intervention takes no skill or thought.
Ruin takes no skill or thought.
Deadlock takes no skill or thought.
Shall I go on?
Is Agitation a super strong perk?
Does Corrupt Intervention not allow strategies that the killer has to think ahead and does it not deactivate after two minutes?
Does it not take thought to know when to pressure a specific gen with Ruin and does it have a risk of being broken the first two seconds of a match?
Deadlock is a weird one but it’s not super busted like Iron Will is.

Its never needed a nerf.
Its a strong perk that remove a whole ONE tool from the arsenal of the Spirit. I already named them above.
Its not the end of the world.
It’s insanely powerful with no downsides and takes no skill or thought from the survivors like a lot of other survivor perks do. It needs changes.

Iron Will doesn’t need a nerf though. It has counterplay, unlike Spirit up until now.
It really doesn’t when you’re at a jungle Jim or TL wall. You can mind game because IW robs information, exactly how Spirit did it. Now, Iron Will users against Spirit will be just as problematic. Iron Will users might have their own stand still “mind game” lol.
-
@MrPenguin said:
Spirit still moves at 176% base line, has no fatigue, and has the post phase speed boost. You also aren't always going to have LOS on her footsteps. She'll probably be fine imo, but we'll have to see.
As for Iron will yeah that perk is dumb.
I think she'll be fine as well, it's just the Iron Will situation I have an issue with.
-
@Rezblaze said:
Finally, Spirit Mains are put on the Copium machine, upset that their power actually has viable counterplay and needs -thinking- applied to it.
All this is, is a melodramatic attempt to make this nerf seem more impactful than it is. Just like with Nurse when EVERYONE was freaking out about her blinks having a cooldown.
Y'know what happened? She's ended up just fine. And so will Spirit, you just aren't as unpredictable anymore and you have to actually adapt. If you're a spirit that relies on -breathing- to figure out where a survivor is, rather than the several other indications of where survivors are going (dust from vaulting, vault sounds, brush, movement of grass, scratch marks) then sorry, you were never a good Spirit to begin with. Seethe.
I'm not uspet with Spirit having counterplay. I've been asking it for a while but it's the fact they didn't address Iron Will is blasphemy. If you don't think Iron Will needs a nerf, I don't know what to tell you.

Don't you think your being a bit hypocritical? Your saying and calling people out for being one sided but saying iron will should be made useless is being a bit one sided.
It was a joke lol. The change I'd make to Iron Will is to give it a 45-second timer after getting injured, it will deactivate until you are fully healed, and then it will do the process again when you go from healthy to injured.
-
@Ramxenoc445 said:
I don't think she'll be much worse but I'm sure the change of dust was to be inclusive of the impaired players that maybe can't hear but enjoy playing the game or maybe for people not using a headset. Plus you've still got your new add on that sends you back to the husk which will give a ton of mind game potential.
I actually love that add on. I'll certainly be using it a lot.

I don't! Go ahead and read through my post history if you really need to know. But as you said yourself, Spirit has been an unbalanced, broken stain on this game for three years. This nerf is very deserved.
I never said she didn't need changes but it was overkill and makes Iron Will users nearly impossible to catch. Iron Will will be just as problematic against Spirit but BHVR will take a whole year to address that.
-
@GoshJosh said:

Oh ######### I thought it was the breathing
Since short bursts are the most effective tactic anyway I don't think this will affect her all too much, but we'll have to wait until PTB which is I think next week
Yeah but they’ll still have plenty of time to react to it.
-
@Shroompy said:
Honestly I think they should allow Spirit to hear her own breathing to time her phases correctly and maybe throw survivors off, similar to Old Freddy
From what it sounds like in the dev update, it’s going to be the phasing sound, not the breathing noises.

I doubt it. There will be a bit more skill but it’s mostly learning to use foliage to hide the footsteps and her not being S tier is cool with me since A-B tier is the ideal balancing point imo
I mean I wanted her to not be S tier anymore as well but I’m mainly worried about Iron Will.
-
@NomiNomad said:
Iron Will would be fine if it didn't seemingly ######### with the rest of the audio the way it does.
Sometimes I can still hear breathing and footsteps even if they have IW, sometimes their completely silent. That's the only issue I have with the perk.
Nerf it to the ground. That’s my opinion on the perk.

@Robotfangirl67 said:
Yeah I agree I thought the nerf to Spirit was a little bit over kill. I mean I know I may sound killer sided but I also thought that yeah spirit did needed a little nerf. I also think that the dust blow thing when she walks wasn’t needed aside from knowing she was coming from 24 meters which was fine by me. I think the new add-ons might be fun to use but I fear she will become more add-on dependent in the future but we will see.
I hope I’m overreacting. I’ll still play her a bunch because she’ll always be my favorite. I’ll test her out in the PTB see how it goes.
-
@Phasmamain said:

So C-B tier? Doesn’t sound too bad to me and way better than the current tier she’s in. We have to remember that the other 2 S tier killers require a lot more practise to play well so it only makes sense that spirit is weaker
Well with this change Spirit will probably require just as much practice as Nurse and Blight, and now won’t be S tier anymore.
-
@Phasmamain said:
I think it’s fine personally. She’ll still be easily A tier and that’s where all killers should strive to be
Trickster tier if all survivors have Iron Will.

I hate the argument people use which is "just don't sweat". I've seen so many people use it when they try to discredit any argument about MMR.
I played in a 4 man swf on Friday. We wanted to have a few drinks and mess around. We bring good perks but we don't just all run the same build DS, Unbreakable, Dead and BT.
In 8 hours of playing we got 8 Nurses. The next highest killer we faced was Blight (3 Times). It was such a boring night. We tried to mess around and meme for the last 2 hours but it was pretty much impossible with how sweaty some games were.
And that’s all this game should be, a casual party game. All I want is it have fun, try different killers and builds and still feel like I have a chance of winning. Ruin Undying is just boring and is a huge crutch I don’t want to have to rely on all the time. BHVR is trying to turn this game into a tournament level game which is something I don’t want to see.

In 2045

You must be playing a different game if you think Badham and Red Forest are bearable.
-
Explain how Haddonfield and The Game are balanced?
-
@Pulsar said:
Just run Starstruck, Tinkerer, Ruin and Pop.
It would be boring to have to run the same build every single time. I would like to try out varieties but it’s hard to right now because of how fast games go.
-
I have tested it out and Insidious actually does trigger when you are phasing because of your husk standing still and maintaining the terror radius. Honestly don’t know how that benefits you in a real scenario in game but I thought it was interesting.
-
It’s a very ######### thing for the killer to do but it isn’t bannable.
-
I know that people might joke saying “see you next week” or something like that but SBMM has been plaguing this game as of late so I can see why people are done.
-
@Momentosis said:
Just don't sweat
Alright sure. I won’t try to win and be forced to watch people tbag at the gate and say ggez in the chat. I’m supposed to be a big bad killer, not a big bad looney tunes character that gets shitted on by what’s supposed to be my prey.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2512801#Comment_2512801
People definitely did ask for it.
That doesn't mean it's a good idea, but people definitely wanted a new matchmaker.
Yeah people wanted a better system than the old one but SBMM was never the answer to fixing it.
-
@Impose said:
On one hand this is what was supposed to happen. On the other hand this game isn't balanced around having matchmaking.
It's just a bad decision across the board
True. No one asked for SBMM yet BHVR with their egos pretend like they know what’s best for the game.
-
As survivor I am. As killer, it depends if games go by too fast or not. If I get slower games as killer regardless if I win or lose, the matches are generally fun.
-
Yeah the system is very broken. From what I’ve heard it’ll match you up with better survivors first few times you play a new killer and once you lose a bit, you’ll start to play more chill matches. It’s very dumb but it’s just the way it is.
-
Yeah it clearly wasn’t made for DBD but BHVR just doesn’t care lol
