A couple of days is a lot more of a commitment than an hour or two.
The Emblem system might be okay for survivors, but I'm...okay with kills determining MMR as a killer.
I can agree with that completely. As killer I do have to agree the emblems can be kinda wonky. Especially considering a very fast 4k can lead to low emblems. So maybe the best change would honestly be killer mmr being based on kills, and survivors mmr being based off emblems

Damn i 4 man slugged a team right next to the hook because they were altruistic and played badly..... Now as I go to hook the 2nd guy an unbreakable happened. Guess I got outplayed there when i physically couldn't hook them in time.
Right, you did. It happens. You out played them because of their hook bombing strategy, and they in turn outplayed you by using unbreakable. They likely went down with an unbreakable play in mind, and that was their plan all along. They executed what they had planned, and you were outplayed by it.

I kinda said why I posted it, it feels better to be able to vent frustrations about the game and issues when there aren't many viable outlets, but whatever "I read this thing voluntarily and feel like I wasted 20 seconds of my day therefore you are the issue not me for reading it" right?
I never said it was a problem. Just that you've got main character syndrome. That's all. I kinda like reading posts like this cuz it gives me a chuckle. So vent on my dude, it's enjoyable to read

Do you have the tell everyone?
The people who make these threads have "main character syndrome" and they think the world revolves around them and their actions. They think anyone actually cares. It's kinda like being in a random match of Cod and having a rando says he's leaving the lobby cuz "x,y,z" players are bad. No one gives a damn. Just leave. No ones gonna bat an eye

MMR should depend not on amount of Kills / escapes, but on many factors, like:
*Time. How fast you do the gens. How long your chases are. How long your game overall is.
*Your "finest hour", moment you play best (Early game, Mid game, Late game, Collapse).
*Your determination towards the objective. Mercy and second chance politics. Relaxed or toxic behaviour when you almost won.
*Hatch moments. Ability to actually find a hatch and use it / close it.
*Amount of pressure on the other side. How often you stun or blind / get stunned or blinded. Chases escaped / finished.
So, example.
Killer starts queue. System get statistics of how he performed in previous 20+ trials.
System knows that killer mostly spend 7 minutes to get 3 kills. Not a good chaser. Finest hour is Late game. He's mostly related and allow unhooks, camping is rare. 67% time last player escapes. 80% of that are hatch escapes. Killer is getting stuns and blinds too often.
Now system determine his strengths and weaknesses. Next trying to reward him for one of the strengths and punish for one of the weaknesses, wile keeping rest in balance.
But he won't be getting expert flashlight users that will save often, use every pallet on map and do all gens in 4 minutes :)
Oddly enough, what you're explaining is basically the emblem system. So like.. if we actually used the emblems to decide MMR.
-
Don't worry about the "win". Unless you honestly care about your invisible MMR rating, which if you do that's fine, but if you don't then what's the problem? Just play to have fun
-

Help your team. I feel like glyph chasers are not helping.
It's a killer challenge my dude. Killers aren't on a team

Are you searching for it as a KILLER? It's killer only. I had made the mistake of trying to do it for about an hour before realizing how dumb I was.
After you hook someone you'll see the glyphs aura for a few seconds, so you can find it pretty easily
Also it's super bright almost neon purple, very easy to see

Using heal slow down perks is kinda silly tbh. They can just heal through them so quickly that they are essentially useless. If you want a good build, just use what you used before. Or do the super original ruin undying pop tinkerer.
-
I mean.. "is it really outplaying someone if you use X perk?"
Yes. It is. You can play around it, you didn't, and got out played. If someone wants to gloat about their win, let em. They earned it. Just the same, if you want gloat about your own win, go for it. You earned it.
If you really feel like using a perk is too much and means they didn't actually outplay you, then you in turn should never use any perks at all because if you do, you're not actually outplaying anyone. Right? That's the logic you're using. So in all fairness, either you go perkless or accept that you got outplayed and move on with your life
-
In 6 years I've only ever gotten one comment and it was from a killer saying I didn't good job of saving teammates and taking pressure off them.
I really don't believe this community is as salty and toxic as some people like to say
-
As killer I just wanna have fun games. That's all. And that happens probably like 90% of my games when I just play naturally so that's easy enough.
As for survivor I really love trying to get flash bang saves. Don't care if I go down to do it, if I'm camped to death on my first hook because of it, chased and BMd all game for it.. doesn't matter. If I get that flashbang save, I consider it a win for me.
-
Do bones. Duh.
But for real, break a pallet and then leave em to pressure gens. Chances are not likely that all 4 will just pre drop every pallet. And if they do, ok they will be out of pallets 3 mins into the game and then it's free hits all day
-
Ok but did you try just doing bones?
-
Mm equip BBQ and any killer that uses power in chase a lot. IE blight, PH, Doc, etc and go for as many hooks as you possibly can. Forget kills, if they happen great but if you're farming BP, chases and hooks are the way to go. I get around 30-32k consistently as blight, with bbq this is a consistent 60-64k each game. 10 mins of game.
As survivor use Were gonna live forever and get every single protection, hook save, flashlight save, flashbang save, pallet stun save you can get.
And then, and this is the hardest part, play the game without thinking about it. Don't bother looking at your points til you've played like 5-6 games. It adds up real damn fast
-
Because we've gotta make sure the survivor playerbase gets their chance to that, click, point at, and in general BM every killer as much as possible. Duhh
-
It kinda baffles me to see these sometimes but then I remember that I've played for 6 years and BP means almost nothing to me. But then it makes me think about NEW players.. and then I think about the absolutely insane paywall that exists, that as an old player I don't think about at all. 5-10 dollars every 3 months was never an issue when it's all split apart, but like.. as a new player joining the game, holy hell I can imagine that's a terrible feeling.
Makes me kinda wish we had occasional auric drops, or the.. other currency.. I can't think of what they're called but the things you can buy NON licensed dlc with. Why don't we ever get double events on those?

Unless it was bugged (which I heard it was), it shouldn't be random. It should activate when you use your power (and you have a token). You should gain a token every time you hook someone. There isn't anything random, or forced about it. If you equip it, you should know how and when to use it.
While I'm sure you want to engage in some kind of "BHVR hates killers" or "Killers have it so hard" conversation, I'm not really interested. If you cannot see how the add-on when used properly changes the fundamental ways you react to killers, and instead want to focus only on the situations where it might be problematic, all in the hopes of proving that it was unfair for the item to not be allowed year-round, then I am not the one who has problems with critical thinking.
Alright, even using your logic of the add on being "good" that's absolutely unfair. There's no downside to using survivor addon. It's just a nice speed boost that as stated can potentially change the entire way a killer needs to approach a chase. So the exact same thing you said about how a survivor may need to change their way of dealing with a killer who has a rush available. So using that and saying they are equals, why should one be available year round and the other not? That's literal favoritism
-
@Underdawg said:
One is usable up to 12 times a match, and changes the fundamental way that we interact with the game. One is usable once per match.
When talking about Fairness, we need to understand that Equality and Equity are not the same.
Yes because a trapper being forced to rush forward instead of placing a trap is absolutely a bonus.
A nurse being forced to waste time rushing when a blink is needed is just so damn good, amirite?
Huntress just hooked and sees a target to throw a hatchet at? Nah, she's gonna rush headfirst into a wall instead while that target gets away free.
But yeah, it's totally a good thing to use all the time and the survivor side being able to gain a speed boost on command is totally the worse option. Ya know, a speed boost that against 110 killers makes the survivor nigh uncatchable if they're smart about pallets and windows. Or essentially turns a 115 killer into a 110 in a chase against that survivor. But yeah you're totally right, the random FORCED rushing by killers is clearly the stronger option.
Please, my dude. Ya gotta think a little more critically
-
But.. but.. do bones..
/S
-
Do bones
-
MoM. Not as OP as was before but something actually usable would be kinda cool
-
RPD. Never played that resident evil and the map layout absolutely throws me for a loop and as survivor, I catch myself looping unknowingly for so much wasted time because I'm so lost and can't find a gen
-
Uhh. The issue with that is he had to be buffed to even be close to passable. I'm not saying he's perfect as is however he's very delicate in the sense of any more of a buff to his base kit and he becomes oppressive, but less and he becomes useless

Why make an even weaker Unrelenting?
It would be a much stronger unrelenting but on a CD. Infact just make that unrelenting and don't even make a new perk

You would just lunge to gain distance
Sure, why not. That's how dead hard is used, why should it be different for killers?

And here we observe the elusive Sluzzy, preying on unsuspecting victims in their natural habitat. An absolutely marvelous apex predator rivaled by none.
Glorious :)

That's literally just half of demogorgon but with pre placed portals that could potentially be in horrible spots and useless lol. No disrespect meant but it's not exactly a great idea

For killers with abilities capable of downing a survivor. Run Devour Hope but don't M1 survivors at 3 tokens and don't mori survivors at 5 tokens.
That's completely ignoring what he's getting at my dude. He's saying that once your boon is cleansed, act as though it works like a hex and it's gone for the rest of the game. What you said doesn't make sense in comparison
-
Ugh! DISGUSTING!
Nah I'm jk. You do you, bro. Personally I have a real hard time dodging victor and then half the time I do, I forget I can kick him
-
Just do whatever is fun for you dude, and forget the rest. If you wanna play like a "toxic" tunneling camper that slugs for 4ks, then by all means do it. If you want to just meme around with silly add-ons and such, go for it. 2hook and let em go? Sure.
Just always know that no matter what you do, someone is gonna be pissy about it for one reason or another.
So just have fun. You bought the game, you are entitled to play it however you want to.
Unless you play twins. That's never ok.
-
It's mostly ormond but other areas also have this issue. Never try to bounce off a snow pile. It's kinda rough but you can definitely aim for hitting poles, trees, walls, gens, ETC. Just absolutely avoid the snow. Unless you're going for the slide around tech, then definitely aim for the snow

The problem is I've tried your suggestions and run into the same cycle anyway so its obvious not just a don't do this and it will be better problem it goes deeper into gameplay, the way mmr works and so on.
Then stop caring. It's a game meant for fun dude. Use what you think is fun and forget the rest. It really doesn't matter if you lose to well coordinated teams. And if you stomp a few noob squads, ok, it happens. You're gonna have middle ground, it's not always one or the other. And if you actually think it is, I strongly suggest recording all of your matches and re watching them after you've got like 30-40. You will see just how much your perception is skewed to the low and high ends of the spectrum while completely ignoring the middle. Because that's just a natural thing that happens. It's a negative and positive perception bias. But if you actually look at the overall average you'll find it's honestly fine and right in the middle
-
Right? Those reverse bear traps ARE ridiculous and op. Definitely time to nerf pig. Thank you for your insight.

So were keys, they were rare or very rare and not everyone would bring them, you would see one in every 10-20 matches. And even if sbdy would bring a key it would often not be used.
Except that week after key nerfs/ changes were announced and we had a key in nearly every game

Honestly I get super sweat fest like 7 games in a row and then like 2 non sweat fest then back to the sweat no matter what builds im running.
Then by all means just keep complaining and refuse to accept any sort of answer to your problem while also not trying to find a solution yourself. You do you, bro.

Clearly the new killer is Harvey Birdman. It's all but confirmed at this point. /S

@[Deleted User] said:
You are not encountering competitive/tournament level play in a public match setting. You might run into comp players, but I'd almost guarantee they're not sweating it too hard. The game speed and coordination in a public match doesn't approach comp. Gens can be similar speed due to BNPs, but everything else in a public match is slow and sloppy (saves, heals, etc.).
That out of the way, I haven't really run into too many viability issues. MMR is too janky. If you do happen to get a decent 4 man, you'll need a solid killer, but very few matches have felt unwinnable since MMR went live. I'm still getting a 3 or 4k in 90% of matches and I play pretty much every killer.
Most killers I run into at higher MMR might have good mechanical skills but lack in the soft skills/game sense department. Their patrols make no sense (or they're just unga bunga BBQ/Tinkerer chasing). They take poor chases to areas they shouldn't chase. They rely on tracking perks. The list goes on. It's really important to have a lot of awareness and decision-making when survivors are going to out-perk you every game.
If you're getting bad killers at "high mmr" maybe you're not actually at high mmr.. food for thought, yeah?

But then I end up against babys and 4k at 4 gens and thats ok the first 2-3 times but then it's not satisfying at all of course I 4k they didn't even know how to drop pallets properly.
Ok, so use whatever random build you want and stick with it. You'll eventually even out in your mmr to be at a range where it's not a struggle fest but also not stupidly easy. That's how mmr works
-
@Gamedozer7 said:

The problem is if you don't run meta on the killer side gens just go by so fast its like 4 minute games. That's without gen rush stuff like bnp and prove thyself. Its just not a fun experience at all.
So keep losing til your at the lowest of low mmr and you won't have that problem
-
So don't? You don't have to win every game either. Just use what killers and builds you have fun using and just chill my dude. No ones telling you or forcing you to use specific builds
-
Uhhh.
Has anybody ever been so far to even want more like? No. Hook hand car door.
And then the boy said "you didn't ask i love you.. 5 ever." I cri ever time
-
That's actually amazingly hilarious
-
This man is writing books in his post and not even giving a tldr lol. IDK man, even as a killer main I very much dislike hawkins, regardless of it being a generally good map for killers. It's just an annoying layout really. But RPD definitely takes the cake as being the worst
-
Not as many people would have bought Micheala if her perks were ttrash

Maybe they just really want that person dead? Doesn't mean it's right, but it's a fair strategy

The answer is "both" and it's why game balance/design is so difficult. You can't focus on one group, no matter which group that is, you need to take all of them into account and craft solutions that hopefully work adequately for everyone.
Deification of the top tier is fine for a community, but the developers have to take it a little more seriously than that. To BHVR's credit, they do seem to know this- they're just questionably good at actually acting on it.
Yeah, that's a fair answer. And also true as far as what BHVR has been trying to do. I guess maybe it's just not all that possible to 100% balance for ends of the spectrum at the same time though. And that causes a large divide and ultimately leaves a lot of people upset or wanting more
