Actually, there are killers that are not closing the hatch now and are camping it in hopes you'll come to them so they can chase you for 2 minutes to the end.
Left Behind, which was always kinda niche anyway, can come into play with those situations. After-all, generators are not blocked until EGC starts.
Just sayin.......
-
Did it ever occur to you that some of us like that challenge?
-
What's irritating is you can completely wipe a team quickly and still just get a safety pip.
Makes no sense - are the survivors being punished by being forced to be dominated by me over and over again because I will never rank past them?
-
@Eguzky ah, my bad
I'm so used to people just turning off their brains and expecting everything to be done for them. Guess I'm jumping to conclusions

Yes essentially they need to address :
1: various bugs that are afflicting the game
2: map design and address looping once and for all
3: the grind and the bloodweb
4: address some killers once looping won't be prominent anymore
They should skip a chapter and address all of these points
Point 3 is going to take awhile given the procedural generation of the maps. The most they can do right now is work each individual tile to shorten the loops to make them mind-gamable, which they've already been doing for months now.
However, making sure that the ajoining tiles don't spawn in such a matter that makes a much larger loop is considerably more difficult.
Loops are going nowhere for awhile, as much as it pains me to say it

Except, once he pops a Gen, the Killer has a better idea where the Survivor is, and where he may be headed.
Again; no. People need to stop suggesting ideas that rip control out of the Killer's hands.
The killer is SUPPOSED to be in control!
This punishes Killers because some people are unhappy if the Killer plays a way they, specifically, don't want him to play. Please stop trying to dictate how Killers are supposed to play like there's some sort of Marquess of Queensberry Rules to Killer play.
And how is popping the generator and giving the killer an indicator where you are bad exactly? What, do you expect the survivor to just stand there and wait for the killer? User your head FFS!
I used to do this to hatch campers all the time. I pop the gen, then take a hidden route that doesn't go directly back to the hatch - I beat the killer to the hatch EVERY SINGLE TIME because they go to the gen, then go looking for me.
In the new EGC, I suspect most of them will just shut the hatch at that point - which frees me up to start the exit gate mind games that a lot of us are already playing.
This is such a non-issue, I can't believe people are complaining about this. It's like people log in and take off their thinking caps.

But how are you going to accomplish anything by standing on the hatch? The survivor would have all the time and freedom to work on 1 or 2 gens without you applying any pressure.
And if that happens, gates will power and you'll have to patrol them, exactly as if you closed the hatch in the first place.
Exactly - which is why I see this "hatch camping" thing to be a non-issue. Yes, it's boring, but it only takes 80 seconds tops to complete a generator and force the issue.

There is indeed a reason to not close it:
When I'm killer and there's 1-2 gens left & hatch, I don't always want to close the hatch, because that's REWARDING the Survivor; it's speeding up his chance of leaving by triggering the exit gates.
Sorry, but forcing a time limit & then triggering EGC without Killer input takes the power away from Killers, which is already happening way too much. Please no.
I disagree. It's better to close it and pressure the last survivor to act. It also narrows down where you need to be patrolling. It also brings the game to a conclusion so I can get into a new match

Yeah fix the game. Also please tell us just one time how big the hotboxes really are, as this game ages it just gets worse and worse
They actually showed us the collision capsules in one of the videos about a year and a half ago, give or take.
And no, it's been getting better. I suspect you didn't play in the dark times that was The Last Breath, Halloween, and Of Flesh and Mud chapters.

@FrenziedRoach As someone who plays a lot of Clown, he DOES slow down when you throw a bottle for about a second. The slow is really noticeable.
But this is not what the Wiki says - and it's usually right. @DocOctober , you still update the wiki? You care to comment?
-
Then work on generators. Generators are not blocked until EGC starts.
Yes, they get an indicator - but you'll usually force the issue and already have a head start (killer will likely close the hatch at that point). BTW, I suggest going to the gate furthest from the generator you just popped because most killers are going to assume you went to the close gate.

During what time of the throw is Clown slowed, exactly? Is he still slowed after he throws?
No, clown's speed was normalized after patch 2.0. He doesn't lose speed using his power anymore.

The real problem is that survivors refuse to give up their meta-perks and run something that helps them track down totems - like Small Game or Detectives Hunch.
I mean - if you hate NOED so much, why aren't you running those perks to counter it?
I hate hags, so I run Urban Evasion specifically to deal with them. Why is it so hard for others to do similar things?
Uncreative and unimaginative gamers these days - they all want ######### just handed to them.
-
I always thought that DS should be a counter to Mori myself. Just a one-time "Get out of jail free" shot to get away from a killer with Mori.
-
I'd completely rework the perk to be honest.
-
Suggestions are actually used all the time. The change to STBFL came from the forums, for example.
We have a clown killer because people have been asking for it forever.
Ect....

oh sorry is the objective of the game to do the totems to open the doors?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/544862#Comment_544862
Do you want NOED? Because not doing totems is how you get NOED.
FFS, people have been whining survivors need another objective. Well congradulations, a killer with NOED just gave you a new optional objective.
Now do that objective and quit your whinin'.

You’re acting like adrenaline is compared to NOED even In the slightest. Adrenaline is a perk that affects one person and is a gift for doing good and completing the gens. PLUS you get exhausted AND sometimes you’re already full health so it’s pointless besides the speed boost. But NOED affects the entire team just because the killer was doing bad and couldn’t kill the survivors. It doesn’t matter that you can take out NOED it’s still an OP perk. It shouldn’t be used because a killer couldn’t kill. There should be some requirements like you have to Hook survivors at least 5 or 6 times or something.
NOED is a failure on the part of the survivors to make sure all the totems are down.
-
@se05239 said:
Hopefully it will be.
Survivors shouldn't get a pass when killers exploiting add-ons are prone to punishment.
Truth, I think this bothers me more than the actual bug.
Legion players got hit for using certain exploits to the point it was announced it big flashy red letters at the top of the forum.
But concerning wake up? Silence.....
That's really starting to bother me.

It’s been bad on ps4 lately, this has had to be the most toxic double bloodpoint and event week I have seen in 2 years on this game. Console in general needs to have a legit place on the dev teams to do list. It’s about time they stop using us as a cash cow and give us no support in return.
It actually is. However, the certification process to get anything done on console takes considerably longer than PC.
-
You can't expect people to NOT play with their friends.
I don't mind it. Generally all you have to do is pick apart the weaker friends until nobody is left but the stronger player.
Then you just corner them like rats during the EGC.
This is frankly, a non-issue.

Have that same energy BHVR. Oh wait, that's Survivor $$$

I doubt they will sell perks for Auric Cells. Bloodpoints for Auric Cells have been requested several times and they refused to do so, so I also don't believe we will see that happening. I'm just excited to see what they will come up with as long as it reduces this insane amount of grinding. I want to try new builds and so, but I lose motivation as soon as I see how much I have to invest in each character to get the needed perks (I have all teachables unlocked for killer).
They never say never, so I'm betting it was "we don't plan on it"
Plans change. But, this is one thing I'd be happy to be wrong about.
-
Before you discount my idea entirely, you need to keep in mind we started this game with 4 killers and 4 survivors. The perk pool has grown considerably since those days.
I don't think it's out of the question to drop it that much, especially considering that the first drop they did for us in the bloodwebs reduced the cost per node AND reduced the number of nodes that could spawn.
Our bloodwebs used to fill every single node at 50 and we would spend as much as 10k for the stuff on the outer edge.
Every extra survivor and killer is 9 more levels of grinding that has to be done. While that's not bad for people like me who are only a couple chapters behind, that's crazy insane for anybody who's coming to this late when you stop and consider how many killers and survivors we have.
In B4 they start selling us bloodpoints/perks for Auric Cells - calling it now.
-
Remove perk levels - all perks are bought at their current level 3.
Your grind just got reduced by 2/3rds

Then blame player. If you cant 4k every game as omega blink you suck no offense
I didn't say anything about 4ks. I only pointed out that the depip squad - 4 very experienced players, went in and destroyed just about every single killer they went up against easily - even without comms, and sometimes without perks.
Because they knew the game THAT WELL that they understood at top level play, survivors hold all the cards.
To be completely fair, that was awhile ago and lots of things have changed since then (such as the universal healing nerf that finally took self-care off the meta). I'd be curious to know if they'd be able to pull off the same thing today.

@Masantonio I want some of the resources currently allocated to cosmetics to be instead allocated to stability/bugfixes/balance. If their budget is that tight, then yes, those artists will be out of work til the the game is in a decent state.
Those artists aren't gods, they don't get 100% job security. Like any company, you have to shift resources to where they are needed most.
Yah, ######### those artists and their livelihood. Your hobby is more important!
Get over yourself.
-
Agreed. If the survivors I faced are so damn inept that I can destroy them quickly, you'd THINK the last thing the devs want is for me to be held back and face those poor saps again.
If anything, you want the killer to rank past those poor sods so they can get a weaker killer.

the EQUIVALENT LOL
Where is Adrenaline the eq of NOED?
To trigger you have to do all 5 gens and you have to survive until then. Noed is just: Im afk for 5 minutes and get a insta down + movement speed.
Adrenaline requieres that you did everything as survivor, noed nothing. Adrenalines counterplay is it to kill survivors before they win. That's the trick ;)
Noeds counterplay is "survivor have to do another objective, 5 times"
Sorry mate but you can leave now because obviously your opinion is crap at this point. Sry for that <3
And yet, you completely ignore my comment above yours equating the firing of NOED as a failure on the survivors part.

I always forget this game and all of its DLCs are free to play. @FrenziedRoach
Wow, you really want to die on this hill, don't you?
Are you seriously suggesting they send artists to the unemployment line so resources go elsewhere?
FFS, they are balacing the game, I've seen a huge difference over the past 3 years I've been playing.

The reason people keep saying stop making skins and fix the game is because they continue to make skins while not fixing the game
And I will continue to call out such ignorant statements for the nonsense they are, no matter how many down-votes I get.
It's not like they aren't balancing. FFS, every other month is a mid-chapter patch dedicated to fixing issues.
Now, if you want to suggest they schedule a chapter for just game fixes, I can get behind that. Kinda like their own version of "Operation Health" that R6 Siege did years ago.
But for FFS, the skins are their income - we want them to have income so they can keep the coders in a job.

How haven't I any clue how many different disciplines it takes to make a game? @FrenziedRoach
Because you made an ignorant remark about not wanting skins, but wanting balance. You can have both. Just because artists are working on skins doesn't mean they don't have people working on balance, it's two different departments, two different disciplines. And even the artists have several sub-departments of their own.
If anything, they should continue to work on skins, because extra revenue means more people in departments that need it.
I'm just so sick of this "stop making skins and fix the game" remarks that have no basis in reality.

You also have no concept that having a reputation for laying off people is bad PR as well.

You can’t compare them. Adrenaline rewards survivors for finishing all gens. NOED does the exact opposite, rewarding failure.
It annoys me when people compare the two. Other than being endgame perks they are nothing alike. Adrenaline is balanced and should be left alone.
NOED is a failure on the survivors part to prevent it. You should always account for it regardless (FFS dude, it's free points and it counts toward Lightbringer).
If you fail at that, you deserve to get destroyed at the end of the game.
-
"I don't want a new skin for Jane"
Because the art department is absolutely responsible for sound issues and balance. XD
Yes, downvote away because I have a different viewpoint and you have no clue how development works.
-
So it's not enough we can't grab you at the hatch anymore
it's not enough that the hatch still spawns with 5 gens undone.
Typical
-
I don't tunnel or camp by default because I understand that time is not on my side. If I camp a hook, smart survivors will pound out the gens. If I leave the hook, I effectively pull 3 people off gens. Which means, I won't have to tunnel either.
THAT BEING SAID
If everybody comes to the hook, why should I leave?
If survivors have proven to me they are fast rescuers, why should I leave right away?
If some idiot unhooks under my nose, why shouldn't i take the easier prey? I hate getting hook farmed as survivor, and hitting the injured person punishes the farmer both in points and in emblems. So you bet your ass I'm going to punish that.
I'm not a braindead bot that lives by pre-programmed rules. I'm a thinking human being that adapts as the situation warrants that. I make the call that I feel is right in any given situation.
I don't care if you think I'm weak
I don't care if you think it's unfair
I don't care if it hurts your points
Your opinion of me is meaningless - you are just another of the thousand people I've gamed against and forgotten over the 2 decades I've been gaming online, I will likely forget about you in 2 games away.
There is only the objective. And my objective is to destroy you.
Deal with it.
-
People complain that survivors need a secondary objective.
Killer's provide secondary objective by bringing NOED
People still complain.
Today's entitled gamer logic...
-
If they decided to do something major to the bloodweb such as remove levels from perks (but you had all perks at level 3), I can see this being added as it's own thing
But good luck with that.
