I'm sorry but I'll join the countless rants with Trickster. Bhvr screwed this killer up on release. All his add-ons are garbage, his movement speed is garbage, his power is garbage, main event is garbage (why is this power automatically activated once the meter is filled???). What were you thinking when you released this killer??? I regret P3'ing this killer and buying his alt. outfits.
I agree. His power is a detriment. You would always want to m1 survivors. His special is a time sink where it's just a better option to m1. The only killer i actually regret buying and actually buy cosmetics for. I'm so disappointed. My fiance was actually going to go back to playing killer when they saw this killer. But when they actually saw them in action...they changed their mind. What a train wreck of a killer. I adepted the killer by just m1-ing a team. I didn't throw a single dagger. It was a gross match. So disappointed.

Coming off back-to-back 11-hook games, where I only used my basic attacks (twice used knives).
Gold Chaser, Gold Devout, Iri Gatekeeper & Malicious. Ruthless Killer.
Both times I had points deducted in chase for reloading and breaking a pallet immediately after hooking a survivor.
Both times the 4th survivor escaped because I have zero tracking perks, and my 110% ass can't defend the gates after closing hatch.
TF kind of babysitting clinic do I need to run to get the adept achievement?
This was a frustrating adept for sure. I actually got it last night just from M1-ing the whole match. I didn't use his power, not once. It was an ordeal limping after all the survivors. Ugh, this killer needs some work.

Using FF they're moving at 5.2m/s - base speed is 4.6m/s, so they do move quite a bit faster than base.
Uh no. It's really not that much faster. Especially when stacked against, oh I don't know, Blight and Spirit and Wraith and Oni and Billy. a 13% increase is nothing. Especially when you take into account Legion's "power" is run "fast" and stab.
-
This is Legion's power. It's the illusion of speed. It was proven that if they're using FF they are moving just barely faster than their base speed. On top of their speed deception, you're basically fighting with their "power" the whole time you're using them. You get stunned when you miss while using FF and you have to wait till it charges back up again It's not as if the Huntress gets stunned when she misses with their hatchets. Nor do they lose hatchets when they m1 attack. It's such a mess of a killer. I'm part of the problem. I purchase every one of their skins. With my money, I'm giving my approval, when really I shouldn't.

One thing is a cosmetic and the other thing actual playable content
Yeah yes of course. But that's not the issue. The issue is that the skins are overpriced to an exorbitant amount. You're kind of stating the obvious.

With $15 you could buy 3 killers, but legendary skins are essentially just glorified purple skins that don't do anything special to the killer.
The guy is right, but it's the principle behind charging 3/4's of the games original price for just one skin.
Honestly, it's a travesty that they charge more for a skin than they do for a chapter.

Oh yeah there has always been a huge disparity in price. The office is in Canada and they charge US dollars...

I'm not wasting time cleansing dull totems, survivors already waste enough time crouching round the edges of maps and staying as far away from gens as humanly possible, so any time I'm not on a gen or being chased is detrimental and guarantees a loss.

Listen you, all the posts you've posted on here reak of being combative and rude. Dial it back some. People are giving their insight and you're being a contrarian and difficult. I suppose that's the nature of the internet where everyone acts like their experience is the only truth. I can tell you as a killer main, they aren't as easy as you are making them seem. When you do miss a pounce he's stunned for more than a bit which usually leads to him being killed if you're against a good team. He's also actually very difficult on console to land, even with his huge hit box. Mind you it could just be my inexperience with the killer.

Good idea for sure. I for one would be very interested to see it. That being said I'm still waiting on my Hotel to show up in the game.

Yeah I don’t think I’ll be able to go back to playing without it now. The default stun feels soooo long and the survivors can make a ton of distance.
I haven’t tried I’m All Ears! I actually don’t think I’ve tried it on anybody except Ghost Face when I was going for the adept. I’ll have to give it a go. :)
Oh yeah I'm all Ears is very solid on a number of killers.PyramidHead being great, Pig, Nurse it has some uses. Trapper also.

HOLY #########. Blight is SO MUCH FUN. Why have I never tried playing him before?! My first match with him ever and it was the most fun I’ve had with a new killer in a long time. :D
I guess the lesson here is to step out of my comfort zone more often and try new stuff.
I agree he's super fun but a tough killer to master for sure. I think he has a very high skill ceiling. I'm always happy to hear people playing the new killers! Keep it up!
-
I'm a killer main and it hasn't changed much. I will say that it made the challenges in the archive "kill so many survivors by your hand" more difficult. That being said I always had handfuls of ebony mori's since I never used them. Winning with them was never really winning, so what's the point. I will say now that you can only use them on the final hook they should give you more blood points as opposed to less since they have been rendered useless.

Undying because the majority of players are survivors and their "fun level" is paramount. I've mentioned it before a killers fun is never taken into account, nor are people new to the role,

It's not exactly the meta that is the problem it's the survivors you get paired with that don't understand how to deal with it that is. No one will say that though cause it's too easy to complain about perks being used. It is a little dull though playing against the same perk every game the same way it is playing against the same killer.
But Killer mains have been saying the same thing for a while now about playing against survivors with the same 4 meta perks.
-
I agree. I think that it would be great if Distortion had tokens and you would start with 3 tokens and you get an additional one for each totem you cleanse or for each person that you pull off a hook safely.
-
@CornHub said:
The main complaint is survivors don't wanna run around the map playing cleanse the totem when they could be on gens. I've been running all Hex builds since Clown's release and it's literally the same complaint in post-game chat. However, survivor meta hasn't changed much since new survivor perks aren't A or S+ tier on there own. They all require some kind of condition like Deliverance, Soul Guard, and Power Struggle.
True. But survivors always complain that they want more to do in-game besides gens. I would think totems are something else besides gens. Like I do play a fair amount of survivor and to cleanse totems. People need to climb down from the cross and just do them, It's not that hard. Run small game. gasp if that happens I won't be able to run one of my other meta perks.

Maybe you shouldn’t be playing Killer if doing your job in that position seems like such a drag.
Just my opinion (and no I’m not being mean, I’m subliminally recommending trying a different side)
I don't agree with camping. But you never see any survivors complain about playing survivor and also have other people in the community say "well maybe you should play killer." You NEVER see anyone say "maybe you should play killer" This could be that it's the more stressful of the roles. This "maybe you should play survivor" mentality is adding to the drain of killers in the game. It's just driving up those queue times for other survivors and also it's also the lowest hanging fruit. We should be working to improve our community and listen to people's grievances as opposed to being dismissive.
-
I just find that the level of hypocrisy in our community is astounding at times. People love to throw stones in their glass houses,

I feel. I started playing last March (2020) and I struggle a lot with playing killers such as Hillbilly, Nurse, Huntress, Deathslinger, Blight, and others to a point where I just think that I’m just bad as killer. I’m okay as other killers but not good with certain ones. I wish they’d do something where it would help people like me be able to practice these “higher skill” killers so I don’t look like an ass trying to saw through a tree when I aim for a survivor.
You're totally right. I'll be honest, I think I'm a rather good killer main. I've adepted every killer but Nurse. I play on console. I wish they had an empty training wheels map just so I could blink around and really get to know her. Every time I play her I blink into walls and blink into the basement and just all over. I'm the worst Nurse you will ever see. I just want an area where I don't feel that I'm wasting people's time trying to GET GOOD.
Now that I have to try and reclaim my Adept trophies again on PS5 as they don't carry over from the PS4 I want to make an honest go at getting hers. That being said she is at the bottom of the to-do list as she's just way too tough. It just amounts to me putting on her Match Box add on and turning her into a m1 killer, ugh.

This sounds like a post from someone who doesn't understand balance in a game, and that there are two sides in this game, not just the killer's experience.
Do you know what a baseline rat liver would do? It would encourage so many demos to just hold their mouth open in the way which pyramid heads just hold their sword in teh ground. It'll be a bait fest.
Oh no spirit got a bit of counterplay it's the end of the world! I must be some uncounterable force with no way for the survivors to stop me to have fun.
Pig isn't bad, clearly you havn't played her well before.
Pyramid head suggestion would actually be nuts and prevent anything from stopping him.
Seems like you need to take a look through the survivors POV for once.
I play Killer and survivor, I can confirm that surivor has a much easier go at it. My partner who used to play killer and rather well i might add, will not play killer ever now as it's to stressful and just not fun. The toxicity of survivors was such a turn off for them. The game is not balanced not nearly.

What bothers me is that BHVR came out saying, "Hey you folks like gay/straight/trans/bi/so-on types of characters? Well, it's good for you because we're not going to define them!!! They can be whatever YOU want them to be :)!!!!.......Oh wait j/k we were defining them all along..........they're straight...."*sound of balloon letting out air* *"sad trombone* When you try and be a centrist, and noncommital about things it just blows up in your face. People are all over themselves about BHVR's response. It's so after the fact.
It's pride month and people want to support minorities. Well, how about if we did that two years ago? We really could have had some characters with depth. A person is defined by the relationships they have. For them to have taken such a stance stripped them of their authenticity. Now it will just seem to pander and rings hollow and false. Better go wipe that pie off my face. Clearly the jokes been on all of us folks who just for a second wanted some representation.
Like super cool all these years playing Mario as he pines after Peach. Super Cool playing Cloud as he has a love triangle between Tifa and Aerith. Great seeing Amy and Sonic together. Master Chief and Cortona, Gordan Freeman and Alyx Vance, Nathan Drake and Elana Fisher, Tidus and Yuna, Akira and any of the ladies in Persona 5, Link and Zelda. Their relationships help define them. Helped shape the story and save the world. I had nothing to look at as a little kid to show me a healthy LGBTQ relationship growing up. I remember sitting in front of my old tube tv wrapped in a big blanket during a snow day watching Squall and Rhinoa's relationship unfold.
I never got to see LGBTQ relationships in my games growing up. If there was a gay guy, they were evil or some sexual deviant. Do you know how much that takes someone apart while they're growing up? What it says is, you'll never find love or companionship or friends. You'll always be less than, you are fundimentally flawed and browken. The straight folks are the heroes. You're the pervert. That has an impact, and BHVR'S centrist stance, in the end, was a stance. Their stance was, we don't want to offend the heroes...I guess that's why I main Killer.

I think people are confused. Politics by its nature is ingrained in everything. From what you eat for breakfast to what you wear when you go out. When you eat food from a company you are giving them money, and in turn, tacitly approving of their practices. The same goes for everything you shroud yourself in, the video games you play, the films you watch the bitchy things you say to your friends. Hate, love, indifference. Our lives are political. People need to stop thinking that the things they do say or think aren't. Everything and I means EVERYTHING is political. This whole "leave politics out of such and such" Is such a poor argument for anything. If you're homophobic, racist, transphobic and antisemite, or sexist. Do everyone a favor and just admit it so we can move on. Hiding behind "remove politics from -blank-" is just tiring and makes you look like an idiot. Such a flimsy facade.

How are the changes to doctor a nerf? being able to shock and hit without having to change stances seems pretty good to me. Maybe static blast could make use of an small tweak.
How many seconds does it take to changes stances? 3....how many seconds does it take to attack after static shock, 3...let’s be honest here, there is the “illusion” of change. Saying it’s better to it have two stances when you have the same time penalty. Let us be clear, they are saying it’s a change to make people think that it’s a “buff”

Stop me here if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the Doctor supposed to be a anti stealth killer?...hey guess what, you can run calm spirit to avoid the screaming from madness. @Tremmer said:
I know it's early but these are my initial impressions.
I feel this could be a drastic change to the complexion of the game. Hex: Ruin admittedly is a very strong perk, as a Hex should be, you take the gamble of running a Hex perk to either gain a long-term powerful effect in the match, or it gets destroyed and you're one perk down. I'm a survivor main who wants to play more killer but with the recent killer changes with Oni, Freddy, Nurse, Spirit and now Hex:Ruin is making me less and less inclined to do so. Facing a Hex: Ruin as survivor is challenging but trying to escape a killer should be.
When reading the Designer Notes and when they spoke of the "benefits" of the new version, not one point was a benefit for the killer but only the survivors, it's a killer perk...
Hex: Ruin has been a staple since it's inception and will probably remain a staple if remained unchanged, the change does allow more other perks to shine. But I'm concerned about this level of change, if you asked me, these are the changes I would of implement I feel would balance the current Hex: Ruin a little bit more.
- Make the great skill checks slightly larger, only slightly.
- Remove the pause effect that takes place after the regression penalty when you hit a only good skill check.
- Or visa versa of example 2, keep the pause but remove the regression penalty.
These are small changes I would feel would maintain the essence of Ruin but balancing it out just a little more.
Like I said earlier, I want to play killer, but I also want to play ALL killers, I'm currently at red ranks as killer but I've only played Freddy and Ghost Face in this bracket. That's because there are low tier killers that don't seem to be as viable in red ranks due to their kit, Ruin was a perk that maintained some playability to these low tier killers and without that could make them even less viable than they're already are.
I hope the devs rethink their decision at this point in time about the impact this will make on both sides without having a stronger alternative put in place. I'm not biased for killer or survivor, I want the game fun for everyone but from this "Designer Notes" thread I haven't read anything about the changes of Hex:Ruin or The Doctor that says for the benefit of the killer. The thread seems extremely Survivor biased. Ruin is a heavy perk to go after and I think changes need to be steady to find the right balance. I hope BHVR find the time to read this long thread I wrote. This is my first comment on the forum for an account I just made because of how strongly I feel about this change.
I'll have an open mind to see truly what new Ruin is like but until then and if the changes go live, I'm sure we'll be facing a lot more Noed which I feel is a perk they should of looked into xD
I honestly have to question, why people didn’t see what they’ve been doing to Legion a sign of things to come. You put a list of crappy things they’ve done to killer, but Legion was the starting point and “fun” for the survivors. Screw the killers. They’re SUPPOSED to be a part of the fun.
-
Inner strength, you get HEALED for cleansing Hex Ruin! Survivors had so many SO MANY things to hand hexes. Survivors can get healed off of getting rid of one of your perks. Does anyone else find that shockingly lopsided?! Killers should really get one or two extra perk slots. Since when you’re up against a SWF team your 4 perks are stacked up against 16 other perks. So in reality, let’s check our selves here. If you’re playing survivor, you get access to more than 4 perk slots and 1 item, you get access to 16 perk slots and possibly 4 items. But it’s hard to play survivor :’(
-
@Peanits said:
I would definitely say give it a try first. Having played around with it, it can be pretty nasty once you get some pressure. Combine it with Surveillance and you also get some outrageous tracking (since generators automatically regress). You'll always know which generators are being worked on.
Discordance does it better. At the start of every match without a doubt there are always a group working on a gen together. So you start the map with better tracking than hex would ever give you. The problem is either, 3 people gen rushing each gen, or they are all spread out pumping them out with tool boxes.
“Also you say once the killer gets pressure” that’s the point and the big problem. There are a lot of killers who can’t cause pressure. The Clown, I love him to pieces but by the time he waddled his chunky ass across the screen the gens already popped. He has terrible map pressure and this perk isn’t going to do a fiddler’s fig to help.

Survivor is honestly so easy I don't see how anyone can complain. I only play solo survivor and I rarely use 2nd chance meta perks (typically run kindred, detective's hunch, spine chill, and a random perk) and I have no problem staying at red ranks.
Omg you’re running my build! Playing survivor is a walk in the damn park. I switched to killer after a loooooong time playing survivor, because it wasn’t fun playing survivor, it’s to easy. You basically fall up the ladder to rank 1.
-
I started with survivor and found it boring. Like it has its moments. You play survivor and you rank up. It’s really tough to rank up as killer. You’ll notice that in ranks the lower ranks have all the killers.high ranks have the same couple killers. Adept killers are somewhat impossible. I get adept survivors almost immediately.
The killers have the best cosmetic. I buy a LOT of killer cosmetics. You’d think they’d want to help killers out here. Or is our money not worth anything.
I will say them hiding the ranks during end game tally is appalling. (Fixing match making is way to tough. Let’s just hide the ranks to get around it. Lord knows we need to start funnelling those low rank killers into Hugh rank survivor matches) I can’t tell you how many times as of late I’ve been in a match and find out I’m rank 13 killer against rank 3 survivors....woo, fun match. Then they get their rocks off by tea bagging by the exitgate. Sure wish they’d allow killers to just open the door and let them leave any time in the match. I sometimes open the door in the end game collapse and survivors don’t get the hint, get out, I’m done. Like take the hint.
-
Survivors gen rush and get them done pop pop pop and then tea bag at the gate, and we’re the jerks.
The Killer is supposed to be imposing and scary, but little by little we’re getting nerfed into the ground. I’m the end Behaviour is going to do the big reveal, gasp the survivors were the antagonists of the game all along....
-
@dragobv said:
good im in the 20% of red ranks then 🙂
I’m also in the same boat. I run corrupt intervention and surveillance and discordance and whatever other perk. I need these three perks to slow down gens. Killers have been mentioning that gen completion rate is always on turbo speed, and it only gets fast in the higher ranks. This has nothing to do about emblems,(even thought its much harder to rank up as killer...I’m sure their stats also show this) it’s about giving killers a chance and Making the game fun for us and it feels like we’re being totally disrespected and disregarded.
Our time and devotion we put into the game is not being respected. I spend money on cosmetics, I spend my time and this is just another slap is the face. Legion, Hex Ruin, Nurse and debatably Spirit. Let’s wait and see about The Dr... but as someone who used Dr it seems frustrating. The huge buff to kindred. Let’s see next how killers get gutted.

I love how, when the community uses BHVR's own stats and data to make an argument about a killer/suvivor performance, there's the inevitable dev comment of "well stats are just that, there's a lot more that goes into it, don't take it too seriously".
Now we get another dev using stats, and only stats (barely a months worth, at that), to basically conclude a killer deemed unfun and ineffective by those who play them most, to have ACTUALLY received a buff! And here everyone who got to test the changes and found them detrimental thought they were nerfs! Silly us, what we feel and experience is wrong when there's DATA!
Oh, but only some data. The data that supports dev's decisions. The other data we shouldn't read too much into.
I'm not liking theses mixed messages and double standards.
Yeah it’s a lot of double speak and cherry picking. I love the game and think the devs are doing a good job. But I appreciate honesty and transparency. Which I think there could be a lot of improvement. I want to know hard facts like
-the ranks of the killers and kill rates and what ranks their at. Same goes for survivor ranks.
-when do kills happen most in the game. ( I tend to think swf teams fall apart at the end when they throw themselves at the killer to save folks)
-I wanna know what ranks d/c ing is the most popular.
-how many gems get done before the first kill occurs and what ranks are they at.
-how often do survivors escape through the hatch, and how often does this happen at high-middle and low rank.
these are some examples.

The first big Legion update did not significantly alter their killrate. It did, however, lower the DC rate against them by 40%. So I remain unconvinced that it was a nerf.
So gutting deep wounds, not a nerf? Removing their ability to use perks in conjugation with their most basic ability not a nerf? If I’m not using their power I’m a basic m-1 killer. Just walked around. Billy and Ghostface and just about every other killers powers aren’t flat out muted and numbed by perks or the chase. Since theirs can stand on their own. Legions power is pointless. By the time you stab everyone with frenzy the first two people stabbed are mended and healed up. The way that this is set up, you have to tunnel people down. I wanted to use Legion because I liked their chaotic play style, dash all over the map. But there’s no point. There is a distinction between Legion and every other killer in that Legion uses their base m1 weapon for their ability. No other killer besides Demogorgon uses their base weapon as part of their absolute.

I'll say a Killer perk and Survivor perk for both.
Overrated:
Hex: Ruin: It feels like a cheesy win to me, like I'm playing under a handy cap.
Adrenaline: Super situational in the idea that it only benefits you once in the game.
Underrated:
Corrupt Intervention: Life saver, 'nuff said.
Inner Strength: Perfect, love this perk, I get 1,000 BP for breaking totems and aren't heal dependent, I only have to wait 8 seconds to heal in a locker, the Killer won't find me healing if they don't see me sneak into a locker.
I know right? Inner strength is so good. It really should put self care in the ground.
