Then there's no reason to want to reduce the max penalty. Anyone getting over an hour penalty has an issue they need to resolved before they commit to playing a multiplayer game.
It should not go over an hour

If a player reach max penalty from DCs, that means only 3 things:
- Player have constant server issues.
- Constant individual internet issues.
- Constant DCs from a matches that they didn't like.
With server or provider, there is no way you or devs will not fix the issue until you reach that max penalty.
That's why me and a couple of other people are suggesting they reduce the maximum ban time to 30 minutes

If you are getting yourself a week on DC penalties then you have issues to sort out on your end. Server issues are not that common and in the past when there was a widespread constant server issue going on, the penalties got disabled.
I don't have any issues, stop assuming things you don't know

We can't literally force people to play a game. But we can have harsher punishments for people that frequently ragequit.
I still think the best solution is to match the frequent ragequitters with each other. This would allow these people to continue playing the game, but they would be matched with like-minded individuals, that also think it's completely fine to ragequit whenever they want.
Harsher punishments? My dude the DC penalty is already at 3 days max (which is ridiculous enough) and it adds up quickly, regardless if you intentionally DC or not. What do you want it to be? A week? That would 100% kill the playerbase lmao

Remove the DC penalty

Happened to me again as well. I thought changing graphics to medium fixed it but it happened again. Banned for 24hrs... can't even take part in the bloodhunt.
24 hours is crazy, the matchmaking ban time needs to be reduced significantly, especially now that we have bots

Hey, thanks!

Get rid of DC penalties, you can get a bot instead to play. Is it ideal? No. But neither is getting tunneled at 5 gens, which is usually why I've been giving up lately.
Killers want to camp and tunnel, what's the point of staying? Teammates want to meme or try to bully killer instead of progressing the game? Sorry I gtg get my next challenge. Teammates insta save in front of the killer? Nah I'll probably just wait here, to be downed again in 10 seconds ๐.
You give a person a penalty for leaving a pointless game, so they get out the only way allowed, as an easy kill for the killer.
So really, ask yourself what YOU could've done differently to avoid other people giving up. Or just accept that some people get annoyed and would rather not stick around for more. Can't get too in your feels about it when you don't know what the other person was thinking when they did it.
As a survivor main, I see these early DCs for 2 main reasons. 1) killer is proxy camping for a potential tunnel/hook trade - while not a game-ender, if this is what you have to look forward to all match and no one is doing gens, you look out from your hook and see three crouched aura across the map from you, or no gens have been touched and they all come for the insta-save instead of having used your chase/hook time wisely (TO DO GENS!), well that starts to feel like it's not gonna end well anyway so why not just go? Lol and 2) Their initial chase was embarrassingly short-lived, the killer is just too good, what's the point? MMR is fickle. Team should just get to concede lol. I personally LOVE getting rolled by a P100 Blight at 5 gens /sarcasm.
When playing killer, it's usually Mikey, and quitters are on indoor maps, when teammates are too scared to touch a gen. I understand this. It's annoying for me too because then I just have to stumble upon the survivors because they're all just hiding lol and the match takes forever. Did the quitter know I was going to let them all escape? No. But how boring to only ever find the same surv doing 1 gen while everyone else hides lol I understand why they'd just give up.
Let's be real, they'll never remove the DC penalty. Now what they could do is reduce the matchmaking ban time. I feel like 30 minutes is plenty of time for players to take a breather, anything over an hour is just excessive and unnecessary, and matches for the most part usually last 10-15 minutes.

Killers harass and lobby dodge high prestige survivors, I really hope they hide prestige for everyone.

"The obvious point is, we can't force people to play, but if it were made a big pain in the arse to suicide on hook, more people would just leave for the DC instead of self-unhooking to death"
you're right in the fact that you can't force people to play, but no, they wouldn't just leave for the dc. the 4% is not the problem here, the mistake bhvr made was increasing the dc penalties when adding bots into the game. they really missed the mark, what was the point in adding a feature to help the team when you don't want to play, but then not incentivising giving the team that extra help. i'm not saying pull the dc penalty completely, but the fact that they increased it was a bit questionable.
for most, this game is a casual game, not a comp game. if someone doesn't want to play, they won't. if they don't want the dc penalty, they'll attempt on hook. if thats removed, they'll afk. if they add afk penalties, they'll throw themselves at the killer. killer won't kill them? they'll bleed out on the floor or run around griefing/doing nothing. if they start penalising every way out of the game, people will stop playing their game. 90% of the time there is no way a person who has decided they want out will change their mind and decide to start trying.
bhvr need to incentivise dcing if anything, not removing every other way out of the game. personally i think they should just cap the dc penalty to 20/30 minutes, anything over that is kind of obscene. 20/30 minutes allows people to go and cool off and revaluate whether or not they want to keep playing the game, it gives them a break from rage queuing. along with that, considering their servers are so shoddy and kick people out the game for no reason at the moment, 20/30 minutes is not an insanely long wait time for people who have incorrect dc penalties.
Absolutely! 30 minutes is PLENTY of time for players to cool off. I don't know why they thought capping the penalty at 72 hours max (3 days) was a good idea, that's absolutely RIDICULOUS. No one should have to wait hours or days just to play this game, regardless if you intentionally DC or not. A lot of people will disagree with me, and that's fine! ๐

I would assume they are collecting the feedback at the moment, then they will probably explain the results of the tests.
Should hide prestige for everyone imo
-
This is why the penalty needs to be toned down, either at 30 minutes or 1 hour max. 24 hours is absolutely ridiculous and no one should have to wait that long just to play this game
-
MFT sucks, especially if you're a bad looper

I want the prime gaming outfits to be added to the store

I agree with this. If nothing else, the DC penalty needs to have a cap. As it is now, they do keep incentivizing throwing on hook. They gave us another reason to choose throwing on hook over DC'ing in a rather recent update where they removed the ability to spectate matches that you DC from...
I'd also vote to remove the bots, but that's probably not going to happen either...

If they don't like the match they will always find a way out, regardless.
Might as well cap the DC penalty. I'd rather have a bot then hand the killer a win at 3vs1.
Agree, cap the penalty at 30 minutes max. That's enough time for the majority of players to cool off. Anything over an hour is excessive and unnecessary imo
-
No, 4 seconds is too short. Put it back to 5 seconds like it originally was
-
Basekit Kindred without the killer aura would be amazing!
-
Yes, it needs a buff. At least back to 5 seconds like it was before. No idea what the person above me is even talking about.
-
Ya'll are gonna tear into me for this one but the penalty should be capped at 30 minutes max. Anything over an hour is just excessive and unnecessary.
-
Making prestige optional is a bad idea, killers will know you're hiding it for a reason. Prestige should be hidden for everyone until the end of the match imo.
-
A lot of sweaty killers tunneling and camping at 4 gens, it's not fun.
-
Original PS4/PS4 Slim: 25-30fps
PS4 Pro (Boost Mode): Solid 30fps
PS5: Solid 60fps
-
I can still see prestige levels. Only a select group of people can't see them, which makes no sense. Prestige should be hidden for everyone.
-
Just make the hook bubble transparent, here is an image that I came up with

It could be too I'm playing a lot less too. At the moment I think I average about 4-6 hours a week of play time.
Legit I can only play 1 or 2 matches and then I have to get off for the rest of the day. The game is too frustrating for me especially solo Q survivor.
-
I will agree that the hook mechanic is absolutely boring, you just hang there not being able to do anything at all. No interaction whatsoever and if you're solo Q you have to rely on random strangers to come save you which doesn't even happen most of the time

It's interesting how people can have a total different experience with this game. I see a number of you saying the DCs you see are skyrocketing. I'm seeing the opposite. Seeing a lot less DCs.
Same, I don't see a lot of DCs

Decisive strike should be buffed back to 5 seconds

I sometimes dodge p100 survivors but as survivor.. only 1 or 2 out of 10 have decent skill, most p100 i have seen just troll, die in first hook or dc... Its pretty dumb to hide prestige anyway, you can just remember their names..
Then hide the survivors names as well

nope? Because you don't need to immediatly unhook? So it will basically always waste more time from now on than it did in the past...
I know, but did you see the clip lol. Do you think the killers power should be disabled near the hook?

It's A/B testing.
Some have it hidden while some don't.
BHVR takes the stats from these tests to determine if player behavior changes.
My opinion, P100 is just the new P3 and monthly rank before that. Not many know this, but your rank used to be displayed years ago. A lot of people said lobby dodging was because of it too. BHVR removed it and guess what? Players still dodged lobbies.
That's not fair, it should of been in the beta tab for everyone. Just like wiggling was
