Those words are definitely the kind of thing that would typically merit a ban. If in doubt, you can always just report it and leave it up to the team to decide, as long as you check the Game Rules first and make the call based off that (as opposed to just reporting something because you think it should be bannable, for example).
As for your second question, I don't remember spamming the chat ever being a reportable offence, but if it was it's not listed as being against the rules now, so I suppose we can fairly safely assume it isn't punishable.
-
I think of DBD as a competitive game because the players compete with one another. By definition, that makes it competitive. But many others think of the word as meaning something more like "high stakes" or "viable as an esport".
I think it would be useful to define what you mean by "competitive" and "casual", so that everyone is on the same page about exactly what the point is that's being discussed.

Sometimes the team are busier than at other times. Right now, the combination of possible lowered productivity due to working from home and increased demand due to everyone else being stuck at home playing the game, it's likely that the Support team are spread a little thinner than usual. So under such circumstances, I would say yes, it's normal to not receive a response for a week or two.

Bablyonian, and they don't need to. Most things break or stop working well if treated violently (e.g. a good, hard kick). You don't need to know what a thing is or how it works to know how to break it.

It's not the slurs or the insults that are a problem for me. Everyone who's played an online game has at some point gotten hate mail in their life, especially on COD with Xbox 360. It's the fact that they've been reported before for similar usage of those slurs and nothing seems to have come of it because they're still there doing the same crap. I didn't screenshot the part of that chat log, but one of them (paraphrasing), 'Go ahead and report, nothing will happen'. And though none of you said it but others have so I'll include it, I shouldn't have to mute/hide my endgame chat just because someone else wants to be as toxic as possible. I want to say gg to those who play well and meet new people who I can possibly play with later on whether as opponents or SWF's.
Already done my in-game report, I just simply submitted it through the forums too so they can actually see it.
I must admit I'm confused as to why I was tagged here, I didn't say or imply anything to do with what you were saying. Someone else provided you with the Support link to submit a ticket, and I was just letting you know that in this case, reporting via ticket isn't necessary as it is with other reportable offences.

I'm pretty sure the ranking system for SWF (which I am assuming this is) works like this: The matchmaking tenders towards the lowest rank survivor in the SWF (which I believe is stupid). You can get anyone within six ranks of the lowest rank player. The lowest rank survivor here is rank 4 and you are within 6 ranks of him. So you can get queued up with that. That or the comment above. Or maybe im just wrong.
That shouldn't be the case. SWF are matched according to the highest-ranked player in the party. I can't guarantee it's not also bugged, but as far as I'm aware that part of the system is still working as intended.
-
I'm not a dev, but they've explained this before so I can give an answer. This is a bug with the current matchmaking system, wherein the algorithm sometimes receives incorrect rank information from the killer and matches them on that basis. Basically, the system mistook your rank 9 killer for a red-ranked killer and matched you with red-ranked survivors accordingly. Hopefully, this won't be an issue anymore once the new matchmaking system is introduced.

Thank you, I was unable to find this.
You actually don't need to submit a Support ticket for chat abuse. When you report them after the game, the chat logs are sent to the team with the report, so you're not giving them any information they don't already have by sending a ticket as well.

All "extraterrestrial" means is that the thing exists or belongs to a place outside of Earth. So in the most literal sense, the Entity has always been very blatantly extraterrestrial.
-
If you want my honest opinion, I don't think so. I'm not sure it's even possible for them to do at the moment. However, they have shown an interest in implementing cross-progression into the game recently, so the good news is that if you wait a while, you might be able to transfer your progress over yourself if it becomes a feature of the game.
-
If someone heals themselves with Self-Care, they're arguably enabling progress rather than preventing it, since that's 32 seconds that you can be working on a generator instead of healing them. It can be used inappropriately, sure, but it definitely has its place in terms of benefiting both the user and the other survivors.
The only way in which it's really a selfish perk is that it denies others points in the Benevolent emblem, but personally I don't see that as evidence that it should be changed, because the emblems are badly designed to begin with and I don't believe that good mechanics should be rebalanced around bad ones.
-
The only thing you can do is DC, or wait for the other person to DC. The penalty is only five minutes, so it shouldn't be a big issue. That's why the initial DC penalties are kept relatively small, to allow for situations like yours where you really have to DC.

I wasn't actually aware that it was a bug, even though it explains a lot, Thanks.
Yeah, I think the bug specifically has to do with how the algorithm processes the killer's rank - sometimes it receives incorrect rank information from the server, and so it matches them with survivors based on the 'false' rank. So if you get, for example, a rank 9 killer matched against four red-ranked survivors, that's probably what's happening because the system has essentially mistaken that rank 9 for a red-ranked killer and matched them accordingly.
-
Depends who you ask. I suspect it will fix the problem you're describing, since that's actually a bug with the current system, so unless they port that over, bugs and all, to use for the MMR system, the same issue shouldn't still exist in both versions.

What good perks does clauddete have? Botany and self care are both kinda useless and empathy is a worse bond
Empathy and Bond have different strengths and weaknesses, but personally I think Empathy is the more useful perk. Not only does it have practically unlimited range, but the downside of only being able to see teammates when they're injured is not much of a downside, because most of the time you don't really need to know where your teammates are unless they're in a chase or in need of healing. Self Care tends to be underrated nowadays because it has a reputation for being misused, but it's actually a really solid perk when used appropriately, especially in combination with Botany Knowledge. Speaking of, Claudette's three perks also have excellent synergy with one another, which makes the ability to unlock them all at once that much more valuable.

It may be. I don't know the full story, because all the information you gave me was "the game said I had an internet problem, I contacted Support and they said I should fix my internet problem, therefore they suck". Just from that, their response seems pretty reasonable. If the game says you have an internet problem, the obvious answer is that that's what it is. If there was more to it than that, you can contact them again or ask for help in the Technical Issues subforum. In the meantime, someone else's bug report isn't really the place to discuss it.
-
I don't believe it's actually been officially confirmed one way or the other. It was certainly possible to get automatically banned for disconnecting too much under the old system, so it's not outside the realms of possibility that that could be a feature of this one as well.

Third, I have been attempting to catch up on the previous tomes... so far I've only done challenges I know (or think) I can complete
Fourth, should I claim the archive challenges now or wait
The only reason to wait to claim the challenges is if you're already at or near the bloodpoint cap. They won't give you Rift Fragments or anything, so you may as well use the rewards to help you level your characters faster.

Thanks guys! Will try to blink to the corners, it's a good tip! And no I won't give up. I use her Plaid Flannel addon to see where I blink, is that good to begin with or do you think I will learn faster without it?
Plaid Flannel is good, you just need to beware of not becoming reliant on it. Whether or not you'd learn faster without it honestly depends on what kind of learner you are. If you learn best by trial and error, don't use it, but if you're someone who learns best by being given the solution and then imitating it, the Flannel could work well for you.
The only thing I would recommend against is using any add-ons that alter her base kit, such as range lengthening, fatigue reduction, ones that increase the chain blink window, add additional blinks, or even reduce the cooldown. Being good at Nurse is a lot about muscle memory, so while you're still learning her it's best to get used to her unaltered self first so you don't become reliant on those add-ons.
-
Suggestions as to who you should level, or how you should go about doing it? I assume none of them are prestiged, so assuming you mean who you should level, I would probably recommend Meg, Claudette or Bill on the basis of teachables. All of them have at least two really solid perks that are useful for anyone to have.
Having said that, if you care about completing the Rift, you may instead want to spend your points levelling up Dwight and Kate in preparation for that, so you have an easier time completing their challenges.
-
The bugs that kick people out of games can be fixed, but no, the devs can't/won't lift a time penalty if the disconnection wasn't the player's fault. This is because the server can't tell the difference between an intentional and an unintentional disconnect, so they have to either punish all or none at all. It also prevents people from bypassing the penalty by 'faking' an accidental disconnection (such as by unplugging their internet cable).
-
The lack of character charms does puzzle me. Given that the character charms are among, if not the most, popular of all the charms in the Rift, it seems like a no-brainer financially to include versions for every character featured in each Rift instead of just half of them. Surely the money that they would make from people buying the pass just to get a charm of their favourite character would far surpass any additional costs of designing and building the charms themselves.
-
When the PTB first opened, the Rift was shown as "closing in 91 days". That's not a guarantee of anything, but it does strongly suggest that the next Rift is at least planned to release three weeks from the opening of the PTB - that is, just over two weeks from now.

I've been taking breaks. I'm tired of taking breaks because of bad match making and bad map design. Why am I being punished for being a rank 9-11 killer? Are there no rank 6-11 survs? I don't get it. I mean, every single match is red rank sWFs that knock the gens out within 7 mins max. By the time I get 2 hooks, it's over. It's just really bad, and I wanna enjoy the game I've invested quite a bit of $ into.
I get it - though I wouldn't expect matchmaking to be fixed with the next patch, unfortunately. If you don't want to take a break from the game, though, there's really nothing you (or any of us) can do but suck it up and hope it gets better.
-
If you're finding it difficult to play right now before the new map changes are implemented, I would advise just taking a break for two weeks. The frustration is understandable, but there's not a whole lot else to be done since it's highly unlikely that the patch release is going to be pushed forward.

So do I. There have been some delays, because there's a lot more data to go through than I anticipated. There were over 1000 responses, and about 15-20 questions in each response, and I need to enter all 15-20,000 individual pieces of data manually into a spreadsheet in order to analyse it properly. So it's taking a while, as I'm having to juggle it with university work and things like that. I can promise that I am still working on getting it done as soon as I can, and the good news is that I have been through the majority of it already.

Well their lives do kinda depend on it lol, I know that other people are different but I usually make sure killers have at least a few hooks in or something to count for bloodpoints, if not I usually max out on bloodpoints and give them a kill. It is their job to kill survivors but I don't like losing my rank just because someone wanted a too easy game. Just kinda wish devs would do something about these types of things.
That is true, lol - I thought about adding that when I wrote the comment but decided against it.
I do understand what you mean about the pips. I would say that it shouldn't matter too much since moris are so rare and your rank would therefore even out over time regardless, but they're really not as rare as they should be. I've said for a long time that the only unbalanced thing about moris is their rarity, but that's another discussion.
Perhaps we might hope that a feature of the new matchmaking system might be that the drop in one's MMR is less if killed by a mori, and the increase is greater if one manages to survive a mori, or something to that effect.

I get that. People want a easy game once and awhile but it does ruin the game for survivors because they can't really do anything in that situation unless one guy can run the killer for 5 gens lol.
That's true, but on the other hand it's not like most survivors worry about the killer's fun when they're popping generators like their lives depend on it. I play both sides, historically more survivor than killer, so I do get it, but at the same time you can't blame someone for trying to complete their objective efficiently, or for using powerful items they've earned to do so.
-
Because the Emblem system is badly and illogically designed, and thank goodness they're changing it.
-
a 3v1 will never end well for survivors
You answered your own question. They do gain something from it - significantly increased likelihood of an eventual win.
Remember that those killers you're talking about probably don't bring a mori into every single match (not least because they probably don't earn enough bloodpoints to sustain such a habit). Many killers will occasionally bring something really powerful like an Ebony Mori just because they want to feel powerful for a change. Everyone likes to feel like the alpha. It's not about ruining other people's experience, it's about being able to relax and enjoy an easy win once in a while.
-
The most important traits that separate good killers from bad killers are mobility, map pressure (which often goes hand-in-hand with mobility) and anti-looping capabilities. The Nurse has all that in spades, just not in the exorbitant amounts that she used to. She can get around faster than any other killer if we take the relatively short cooldown on her ability into account, except perhaps Hillbilly, but he doesn't have anywhere near the same power at loops that she does.
-
It doesn't include cosmetics. You lose everything that you have unlocked through the bloodweb. That means perks, items, add-ons and offerings. In exchange, you receive a bloody 'prestige' cosmetic and a slightly increased chance for rare items to spawn in your bloodweb.

Share play is basically imposible to use en LATAM because the servers are to inestable and have to suspend the application for use it, and usually have lag or don't have the necessary wifi for that.
I see. Well, much as I understand the desire, if PSN can't manage to set up a functional system along those lines, it might be a bit much to hope for from an indie company like BHVR. Not that there's any harm in requesting it, I'm just letting you know so you don't get your hopes up that it's very unlikely to happen for technical reasons.
-
No, throwing the game isn't against the rules - unless you throw it by doing something that is against the rules, which chasing survivors without hitting them is definitely not.

Perhaps... but now is done! 😁 Anyway I switch the translation to english very often due that in spanish there are some inconsistencies, like different names for the same thing in-game or a recent change of the name for a certain status effect. For example, at first the Broken status effect was translated very well (Ruptura it's the exact translation in spanish) but in the 3.4.0 if my memory doesn't betray me the translation team called it "Despair status effect" . At first I was like "What is despair status effect? BHVR didn't add a new status effect. Did they?".
That is very odd. It's a pity that players can't play the game in their native language without having to switch to English to clarify the meaning of things - kind of defeats the purpose of having different translations in the first place.

I didn't say they were too strong, I said they were unfun. No other killer ability in the game encourages people to forgo interaction as much as the RBT. I play a multiplayer game because of player to player interactions. Running in a circle around the map on autopilot toward 4 glowing boxes isn't fun or interactive.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1208968#Comment_1208968
Well I guess I can't help if people choose to interpret someone else's writing incorrectly. That is why I took the time to explain the problem so that people could have a straight forward understanding of what I meant. I repeatedly used the words "fun" and "interactive" with appropriate performatives so it's blatantly dishonest for people to go out of their way to manipulate syntax to misrepresent what I wrote.
You're even attempted to rewrite my argument instead of just accepting it even though it says the same thing effectively. As if writing it differently would hurt peoples' feelings less. No, I think they'll choose to be offended anyway because that kind of manipulative and dishonest behavior seems to be patterned in the DBD community.
Not sure why I thought I'd be greeted by anything but an abundance of forum trolls. That was my mistake.

Well yes, if your argument isn't clear and you blame the people who don't understand you, can't clarify what you mean without insulting their intelligence at the same time, and accuse them of being trolls for misinterpreting what you're saying, you're likely to run into "trolls" everywhere you go.

Oh, that's really weird that it got translated that way. Maybe that was the original intention - I don't remember whether this is true or not, but it may have been that at the time of the Nurse's release, when that achievement was added, generators were the only thing you could grab survivors off, so the translators felt there wouldn't be any harm in making that explicit 🤷

How is that pitting the survivors against each other? You're not interacting with the other survivors at all, nor are you interacting with the killer. The RBT is actually forcing non-interaction. Maybe you have an easy time because people don't enjoy playing a walking simulator and want to interact with the killer/game in a meaningful way.
Seems like maybe you have a bit of buyer's remorse and need to project that on other people. To each their own.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1208934#Comment_1208934
Ah, OK. Go ahead and explain then since it's so complicated.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1208936#Comment_1208936
Whether or not she's good is irrelevant, the mechanic is unfun. Interaction should be maximized because we're not playing a single player walking simulator.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1208937#Comment_1208937
No, I'm resigning myself to having fun which involves interacting with the killer and not playing a walking simulator.
And it is literally reading comprehension issues as most of the replies have been something along the lines of "pig isn't OP" or "that's now how RBT works" when I've said neither that pig is OP or inaccurately described the mechanic.
Words like "broken" and "no counterplay" in combination give the strong impression that you think a mechanic is too strong, so I don't blame people for thinking that. That's also what leads people to conclude that you don't understand how the traps work (either that or you're misunderstanding what counterplay is) because they have very clear counterplay - just remove the trap and you're golden. It's really quite unjust to claim that other people have "problems with literacy" when you're the one who's misusing words in confusing ways.
If what you mean to say is that the Pig's power doesn't revolve around killer/survivor interaction and you find that boring, that's fine, but that's a personal preference. It doesn't mean the character is broken or that the people who came up with the mechanic are idiots. For me, Pig is actually the most fun to play against because I enjoy having a second objective, I enjoy the time pressure and the roulette-like aspects and find it quite exciting.
You can just say, "I would like it if Pig were changed because I think she and her power are boring and uninteresting to play against" because that's your opinion and you're allowed to voice it. You don't need to insult everyone in sight to do so.

Yea you should read what I wrote in the comment and not just the thread title to see why I call it an unfun mechanic
Yeah, I read the whole thing. It still sounds like you're just resigning yourself to death the second you get a trap on your head, which is not at all the way you're supposed to play against Pig. And I'm not the only one who got that impression, so maybe it's not my reading comprehension ability that's the problem.
