  • Depends what you class as sabotage. If you're on about people stupidly trading, wasting alot of pallets, wasting time, not doing gens etc. Then every game.

If you're on about being sold out then never, I always carry the matches and tend to do most of it so they never have a reason to

Yeah but the aura reading is only for 10 seconds, the downside of Better together is the 32 meter radius - Blast Mine is map wide

Well once you know their location you know it, it will still tells you if you should get the save or not. Plus if you're more adept you know the auras and can tell who is who, so if someone is hit you know which gen they was chased off.

But once again blast mine shouldn't show the aura to all survivors, only you.

That's a lot of words just to say camping and tunneling sucks. Why are all of your points survivor points, if I might ask? Do you believe that killers have no problems, and survivors are fine? I guess the best question I could ask to make what you're saying relevant is do you disagree that second chance perks are bad for the game as a whole, regardless of the skill of the people using them?

I don't think a solution exists for camping and tunneling, and I think they're things that if punished incorrectly, will simply remove something you should be able to do. You're effectively giving the survivors a power creep in the form of greed. If someone wants to camp or tunnel, even if they get derank (favors them) or less BP, they're going to do it, because they're bad or because the survivors are very efficient and you need one out of the game.

Do you really believe some of the best killers don't often say things like "I need to get someone out of the game quick" or that they don't potentially eat a DS to get someone out? They do, it's just rare because good survivors are rare.

Because alot of people lie about the roles they play. OP might not be but you cant tell. Too often I see "killer mains" go on about how you dont need to do X etc. But in reality the game isn't balanced for higher rank, camping and tunneling can be a strat, I dont care as survivor (I use DS and can loop) so if I get tunneled the killer loses. Then again everyone's experience is different, I dont verse solos often as killer I tend to run into very serious players to the point they still DC to give their friend hatch lol. But to your original point people lie on forums to try get their point across more

  • better together gives a side effect which most players overlook. Its something like when a survivor is down while you're working on a gen see all other survivors.

This let's you know where everyone is, this means you know if you're the closest for the save, if you should remain on your gen. Which gens others are working on meaning if one of those are chased off or unable to finish it you now know the exact location of a gen, this means you can be efficient and run to it stopping it from naturally regressing.

Imo blast mine shouldn't highlight the gen for others anyway.

  • I hardly see spirits and nurses as a rank 1 (nurse is more common). And the bonus BP is always nice, I mean iv maxed out all people again thanks to the double BP. The 5th year was a little sad, for a Bing event it was just cakes...

No one is forcing you to play though, play for fun. If you arent having it take a break? Maybe play killer as you didnt mention it at all in your post.

I’m “going to the them vs us state” because it’s a PvP game and lag is inherently an us vs them issue.

There will always be latency between killer and survivor players. It’s not possible to transmit data between two separate points with absolutely no delay, adding more servers won’t solve an unsolvable problem. So the question becomes, how do you implement a solution that is as fair as it’s possible to be? The current version is the devs’ attempt to do just that: whoever has their action validated by the server first gets priority. If they “allow more of a leeway for hits” like you’re suggesting then survivors will suffer laggy hits again and complain, and we’re right back at square one.

No, you're still doing us verse them. You're basically saying killers have to deal with it or survivors will have the issue, that's not a fair statement as now one side must deal with an issue that shouldn't be a thing. Imagine if most games you have as survivor end up getting hit once a pallets down, you wouldn't enjoy it would you?

And more servers etc. Would actually help, do you know how many different countries are included in the EU servers alone? How can you expect them all to be on the same level.

As for the leeway it will be needed if this is how they're gonna code it. If a killers screen is just 1 second off then that killer is going to have a rough and horrible time. Imagine being 1second late as survivor, you wouldn't be able to loop efficiently as the killer isn't where you see him, you wouldn't be able to time pallet drops, dead hard etc.

It's not acceptable for either side to have this issue. And having it where good ping isnt even the deciding factor hurts alot. I have 40ping, sure not perfect but that's damn good considering and I get hits rolled back before they even drop a pallet, same as I can play a killer like PH and have a survivor be within my power yet not get hit because the server isnt showing it right. When I need to be accurate in a game I cannot afford the game to show me a second off and roll back each hit. Its physically impossible to to guess where the survivor actually is.

This is an issue, and hopefully will be looked into.

  • Stop self caring through sloppy... we could legit do a gen duo in that time. If everyone just healed for that length if time nothing would get done against good killers

  • @ReviloDBD said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2402335#Comment_2402335

I agree with you 100% , neither side should have to deal with this, however, I DO think that it is MORE negatively impactful for Killers because it's 1v4 and each loop for each player can be extended before each down for 30-60 seconds at least and that ends up adding like 8-12min of chasing to a Killer match if each Survivor plays into this...

That is CRAZY amount of added chase time if a Killer wants to down and kill all 4 Survivors..

Oh yeah it defo hurts killers more, but it shouldn't happen on either side but survivors are happy and call it fixed when in reality it's just impacting others. I lost my hit during a pallet save, on my screen I hit them before they even started the animation (she was injured) but it rolled back so I lost both survivors which massively screwed me. Luckily i would of got a 4k but they quit so their friend could get hatch lol

  • Careful a bunch of selfcare users will tell you it's a good perk if you use it right...

But nah bad perks, only with botany does it become less bad but how many perks do you want to waste when medkits exist, but yeah if seen so many players just selfcare through sloppy when we can do a gen duo in the same time

  • @xenotimebong said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2402335#Comment_2402335

From his perspective he gets the hit before the pallet is down. From the survivor’s perspective, the pallet is down already and the killer is stunned, and if he got hit there he would be complaining about laggy hits and pallets being useless.

So which takes priority? The devs have tried to compromise by saying “whichever registers with the server first, stun or hit, gets priority”. Whatever they do, someone will be “robbed” and complain. If you can think of a fairer way to do it then by all means, I’m sure they’d be happy to know about it.

Okay but like most people you're going to the them vs us state. I even said survivors didnt like it when a pallet was down and they got hit, this is the exact same outcome but players are calling it fix.

Either they fix their servers by creating more, improving them etc. Or allow more of a leeway for hits to be considered.

Atm it's gone from a survivor issue to a killer one, when it shouldn't even be an issue

  • Screenshot_20210803-065447_Chrome.jpg

For those Of you to lazy to pause it. From HIS perspective he gets the hit just as the felix begins the animation. Not 50% of its drop, so not getting this hit is 100% BS.

However ping doesnt matter much which is kinda stupid, closest to server wins. In a survivor perspective this is getting hit after the pallet is completely down, which isn't a nice feeling is it?

Neither side should experience such bad hits especially when their screen is clearly 1+seconds out of sync. How are players meant to know what's what when you can have good ping but not actually see what's happens, at this point you have to guess on if what you see is actually there... and that's a stupid concept for either side.

  • I play both, as a killer you get the chance to get someone out early or maybe down a better player who is now out positioned.

As a survivor if I'm being tunneled I know I can lead on a big chase and essentially make him lose the game just chasing me, I also use DS so I can throw that in for even longer punishment.

Both sides can benefit from it, and the killer should play how he needs to. If it's a rough match a simple tunnel could help, if you're in a good position maybe go after the unhookerer. Cant be mad at people who tunnel, if a survivor does an unsafe hook or your team isn't doing gens to punish it then your team is just as much to blame.

IMO teammates are the real killer lol, I fear a bad team more than any killer

  • Blight can slide off alot of objects even some killer shacks, the devs know about it. I and many others have made posts about it, not a single mod, dev has actively acknowledged it or spoke about fixing it. So I wouldn't hold out for this fix

  • Likely be with next chapter, so I'd say in a months time roughly

  • If anything it's gotten worse. I wasnt playing plague but iv had her puke hit me and not infect me and iv had her corrupt puke go straight through me without injuring me.

Like most issues it will to be with servers, crossplay etc. Things that are trying to connect multiple people to a singular game and have it working on all ends.

DBD is just one of those companies that struggles with such tasks. It's why alot of companies branch out when having games on multiple platforms as console and pc are vastly different

We don't see any ping indicators in the video, so how is the video proving anything at all except that the killer seems to have had worse latency to the servers than the survivor?

Do you have some solid evidence that actually proves that the killer ping to the server is lower than the affected survivor ping to the server at the very moment when the pallet stun happens (and yes, the "at the very moment" is actually very important, because we're connected via Internet, so Jitter is a thing)?

Ping has nothing to do with it, I made a post how my 40ping was not good enough to get hits on 60+ping and then people started ping doesnt really matter

Are you new? Because where else would you get them if not for chests? Finding them in chests is far better than them bringing them in.

and keys are MEANT to balance it. They're imbalanced right now but there is no way to make it perfectly even in a game like this. You want them removed in general but once people have to earn them a bit they'll still piss you off but that'll be your problem. They'll be balanced then.

Sorry but you're always going to be annoyed when you're beaten. That's competition.

You're right I'm beaten because YOU CANT READ MY POST. And you get keys from a thing called a bloodweb, it's where you spend bloodpoints. But you are clearly new or lack any sense of balance or fairness. It's like talking to a brick wall with no understanding or regards to the actual post.

I'm sure if a killer could just randomly kill you mid match before your hooked you wouldn't be happy. No. So I'm done replying to someone who isn't reading the post or has an understanding of the game at a higher level especially as a killer.

  • @KweenPlease said:

You want keys to be removed in GENERAL and that's not the answer. They're there to balance the game as best as they can and they eventually will. But your answer isn't the answer because it's killer sided.

I said remove them from chests. If you think keys are a way to balance a game then I dont need to reply to you anymore. You're either new, inexperienced or just so survivor sided you're biased. The game is already survivor sided at the higher rank and you think keys balance it lol.

I'm speaking generically, not you specifically.

But yeah you're talking about finding keys in match, not bloodwebs. Which is what I am also talking about.

Sorry, but them finding it and going for hatch is a " legit strategy "

You may not like it, but y'know what? We don't like a lot of KILLER's common " legit strategies " that have no way to counter.

( I see plenty of people playing dumb pretending FACE-camping is counterable. But you legit can't bait a strict face camper to come your way. Borrowed Time and DS are to counter TUNNELING which is a D I F F E R E N T issue but people like to pretend like they work against someone who is ACTUALLY face-camping. You have to get off hook for those to work and a killer will just grab you when you try and grab them, putting you in the downed state getting you hooked immediately after. )

but yeah I'm going to use the SAME (very stupid) argument and say " Well it's in the rules. BHVR said it was okay. " ( obviously. Except Keys are actually put in the game to level opportunity and may be NERFED SOME where as camping is frowned upon and ONLY allowed because they don't want to ban 70% of killers and hire someone to go through the reports PAYING someone in their business to assist them in LOSING income / playerbase from banning what they've allowed for so long. )

When do I get a free kill on a down then? Legit strat? Unfair and bad mechanic is what it is no other way about it. Keys should be nerfed, even the devs have said it but still no changes.

All you're doing is complaining about survivor issues not addressing the fact keys are unfair. Just because theres an issue on 1 side doesnt mean the other should also have an issue. That's like saying this killer is bugged so can we add a bug to survivors... no.

It's not balanced, I was playing pig, against a meta swf on a rough map. If the game wasnt already in their favour they find a key and get out. Its basically a free escape and win.

  • Why do people say pig is good?

Seriously do these people even play her at rank 1? All it takes is for people to have a brain and loop and you're gonna lose, any killer can beat bad survivors that cant loop but shes a basic M1 and her anti-loop works on very few loops

  • @KweenPlease said:

To be honest . . . both sides complain too much about everything.

I've seen survivors complain about killers in a multitude of ways . . . like " Oh BBQ and No Ed " like IDC if you use it. As long as you're not camping and tunneling.

I've seen killers though be straight up ridiculous. " SWF is bullying, using flashlights is bullying. Looping is bullying. Pallets are bullying. "

Literally every obstacle to defend yourself or extend the game is an issue to them.

Sorry but the game is in your favor. If the survivors can be LUCKY enough to get the HOLY GRAIL ITEM that MIGHT be able to survive them . . . they still have to FIND hatch and HOPE enough gens were done. I think you should have to HAVE ENOUGH POINTS compared to those who you were paired with to be able to get a key to DESERVE it but . . . they shouldn't be out in general.

Killers call us greedy for trying to get a 4 survivor game success. Maybe you're greedy for trying to get 4 kills. It's a game. Move onto the next one. The likelihood of them finding keys being that big of an issue isn't very likely at all. I can't find keys ever and if I do I never know where hatch is usually. If I do, there are too many other factors. One-shot killer and too many gens because of my team? Killer is camping hatch? Killer hooked last person next to hatch and is insidious at a distance they know they can see me run to it. ETC

No. I complain about stupid and unfair mechanics, keys arent rare in blood webs and with plunders they are common. Are you seriously comparing BBQ to a key...

Half of what you have said are stupid complaints without reason, and I wouldn't call myself greedy for the 4k when 3 people escaped through hatch because of a single item they found after messing up. I could not prepare for it, I could not stop it.

I could of complained about their Meta perks, or them being a swf etc. I didnt though, I complained about the uncounterable and unfair "keys in chests" dont be one of those survivors that's just make up excuses, its obviously a dumb and unfair mechanic in the game

  • Well considering you have iron will, and scratch Mark's and sounds are bugged maybe it's a you problem not a killer problem? You're probably in ranks you shouldn't be, wait till mmr then have ago

  • My zombies run away from survivors so no idea what they do tbh, small corridor with a survivor running at them and they just cross paths, doesnt even try attacking then goes to other direction

I'm not sure why you keep saying you have better ping therefor you should win. That is not how math works. Please refer back to the example in my first reply to you. On their screen, the pallet was past the 50% drop mark and they weren't hit by you. Stop only considering your perspective.

And people post links to videos all the time on the forum.

Yes, I hope there is something they can do to make it better for the killer perspective but still keep it fair for both parties as well. Additional servers may help. That also might dilute the player pool more though and create longer queue times. I guess you have to pick your poison.

I'm not only considering only my perspective, I'm just saying to have way better ping and it's not even close to being dropped to be denied it isn't really a good thing. So yes they need to fix it/adjust it, that's all I have said.

Nah, experiencing these false hits in SEA too. It's bad everywhere.

Well I assume its everywhere just meant more common as EU due to that joining players from all from the world but putting them on a server. So I can have 40ping, someone have 80ping yet we're on the same server

  • @Red_Beard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2398967#Comment_2398967

I agree it should go to the player with the best ping if the two actions (throwing the pallet and swinging the weapon) start at the exact same time and they both take the same amount of time to complete. I'm sure it does go to the person with the best ping in that scenario. But when you see the survivor initially throw the pallet on your screen, that is not when the survivor actually threw the pallet on their screen. They threw it earlier because it had to travel from their computer to the server, wait for server processing, then travel from the server to your computer. So in my opinion, the fairest way for both sides is to award it to the person who's action reaches the server first, which is what this update is now doing. And in PUBG, I have head shot people, seen the blood spray but I ended up being the one that died because they shot close to the same time and because of the latency delay, I saw something happen on my screen that the server said shouldn't count. So it is comparable. Why is only your perspective what is fair? You realize their is someone on the other side of you playing who deserves a fair system as well?

As for the speed burst comment, I have been playing mostly survivor since the update rolled out. I have not once seen my character get a hit cancelled on them and been given a speed burst unfairly. Does anyone have a video from a survivor perspective clearly showing they had a hit cancelled and received a speed boost from the cancelled hit?

Also, I am not disagreeing with you on the fact that it sucks you see something happen on your screen that didn't really happen according to the server. As already stated, Mandytalk is giving this feedback to the developers. There might be something they can do about it to make this situation better.

Well I had better ping and they arent even close to 50%of the pallet drop to stun me so even if there screen is different to mine I had the better ping

And you cant upload videos on forums and I assume most cba to upload to YouTube etc

Well I hope they take the advice and fix it. Maybe it's worse in EU? honestly not sure how we share the same server as so many others, its obviously gonna be different from uk, russia etc.

  • @Hex_Llama said:

I think it's okay to find keys in chests, but I wish keys only worked for one person. That way, in the 3-gen situation, if they find a key, one can betray the others and leave (which is interesting), but they can't all just jump in the hatch.

Still not really fair, a free escape shouldn't exist. It's like a killer just randomly getting a kill.

  • @Red_Beard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2398603#Comment_2398603

To answer your questions first you always should be thinking about latency and adjust your play to account for it in multiplayer games. Every multiplayer game has this issue. If you read any top tier PVP or even PVE guide for WOW, they usually talk about latency and adjusting for it. When PUBG was popular, they tried to match people with the same ping together to lessen latency issues. Unfortunately I don't think Dead by Daylight has a big enough player pool to do that and not massively increase queue times for most players.

Mandytalk has stated in other threads that she will be taking the feedback to the developer team about the false hits on the killer perspective. Hopefully there is something that can be done to make it look better. At a minimum, some type of indicator to pop up for killers to see if a hit was cancelled.

As far as being fair, it isn't fair from the survivor perspective to see they threw a pallet on their screen in plenty of time to get the stun to still be hit by the killer either. It can even look worse with grabs over pallets. So my advice for you now until something better comes along is when you get a hit at the pallet, you should be looking at your indicators and screen to make sure the hit wasn't cancelled. Or take a break until something changes.

When I clearly get the hit with better ping it's not fair. The person with the best connection should be right no matter the side whether that's survivor or killer, I'm use to people with bad connection but it doesnt revert a whole health state, eat a stun, give them a burst in speed all while you had the better ping. In other games theres a slight delay in bullets, which you fire multiple of so it's not comparable in reality

terrible anti loop and terrible stealth. At least she has some anti loop and stealth unlike myers.

Myers can lower his terror radius quite through an addon and starts undetectable. But he has the ability to insta down, lunge and vault faster. Pigs anti-loop is so bad it only works on very small loops or against bad survivors but the ability to skip health states is a huge advantage

  • @Nathan13 said:

I still won't find keys often unless I use appraisal or coins.

Just use plunders and you'll find keys.

  • I think pig is the worst, basic M1, terrible anti-loop, terrible stealth and bad rng on traps...trapper etc. Much better imo

  • Anything that changes the game which isn't accessible to all and clearly goes against what the game intended is cheating or a competitive advantage.

Everything from filters, low graphics, stretch res etc. Are competitive advantages

  • Only killer I hate on controller is trickster, his sway is far too hard to control.

But this is what happens when they design it on pc without testing controller. Its not different to healing someone and dropping a pallet being the same button...

  • Dont worry about ranking up, you get nothing for it at all, if been rank 1 since game release and all I get is less killers seen and less chance to run fun builds or weaker killers without being tormented...

    Just play for fun

  • Well it's not on ping, so I guess closest to server wins? I dunno my 40ping loses to 60+ping, I feel they need to slightly adjust the window of what's a hit and not for roll back.

They shouldn't get a burst of speed but not get injured :/

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2398765#Comment_2398765

I'll test it out. If that's the case, then maybe the percentile occurance of it will need reducing, but I do remember doing that quest: "Search 3 chests using Plunderer's Instinct" back in Tome 1, and a select few times after, yet only coming across a key once (not found during completing the quest), so certainly way back then it wasn't a gimme. Maybe the frequency has changed now?

Oh from that long ago they for sure seem more common, I used plunders for this tome and got a key every game and my mate got a pink key on first time too.

Like sure it's not always but damn is it way to high with just plunders

  • @DBD78 said:

Yeah Pig is bad in red ranks it does not take a long time to write down all killers that are worse than Pig: Trapper.

    I rather play trapper tbh,

Yup, this I 100% agree with. Keys are rare enough to find in chests, as looking back it's been semioccasional at the absolute most that in my trials, both as survivor and killer, that a key has materialised.

Plunders almost always gives a key if you search 3 chests though, like seriously run it and you will find a bunch of keys while using it

    @Hex_Ignored said:

The problem with keys lies in the hatch spawn. Hatch should only appear once all 5 gens are done OR if only 1 survivor is left

I'd like that it sure would be better, but atm only counter to keys is Franklin's, if they find it I wont know to put it on so that's an issue

  • @GuyFawx said:

    Franklins man

That's cool if the game tells me they will spawn a key that match, but I cant see that or survivor perks so no. That isn't fair or an answer

  • Shes awful. Worst stealth, worst anti-loop, worst rng traps.

    Worse in all aspects tbh.

  • Gotta play through the pain, so neither. I can understand there are stressful times as each side (killer being more common) but being able to get use to these frustrations will help you enjoy the game more in the long run, you cant take this game personal considering all the issues and unbalanced areas in the game so if you can get past those and still find some enjoyment you're winning already even if you're losing the game

  • I agree deathslinger needs a change, alot of addons are unused so itd be nice if there was a few tweaks.

If you want him nerfed, no. Hes fine, you're probably a player in a higher rank when you shouldn't be or you expect to 1v1 the whole game. None of this is meant in a mean way but ranks mean nothing and the games a 1v4 so chases cant go on forever

  • @Red_Beard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2397740#Comment_2397740

It's not all about who has the best ping though. It also matters when each action started, how long each action takes and latency caused by server decision time. Some other threads have had some people showing the math. To not take credit for anything, I'll just post a picture below what someone wrote. They had to make some assumptions because we don't know the times for everything, but here they show the math on why the server would grant the stun with no hit to a survivor with worse ping than the killer.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4PJH17NANCX0/pallet-hit-delay-png.png

Don't forget too that everyone's ping fluctuates. Just because you see 40 ping at the start of the match and see the survivor with 100 ping when you check match details doesn't mean that was the actual ping of both parties at the time the actions occurred in game.

Then it should be fixed, if my perspective is worse of than the player with a higher ping and I'm the one getting punished because of it doesnt seem really fair.

So like I said am I expected 1ping to see what actually will count? Or do we just have to guess now?

Its really just annoying and frustrating to play with this along side a bunch other issues such as audio, scratch Mark's etc.

  • Well I have 40ping and get my hits taken away when it's way before the half way point. So either the devs have made mistakes in coding etc. (Very possible) or they expect killers to have 1ping

My 40ping loses hits to 60+ping

  • Well alot of the time totems are in very simple and obvious places, that's not including ones in the open or next to a gen...

I have learned all totem spawns (except RPD but I'm getting there) and it's sad to say most often they're in meh places. It's why I dont run things like lullaby, devour etc. As you get no value till later on by which the hex is gone

  • Seriously what sort of connection are you expecting...

It's a constant 40 or 45 at worse case and I lose hits to people the game shows with ping 60+ .... dont feel very fair at all, just makes me want to play survivor even more

  • Update, it works with headon. Just got a hit before the locker player jumped out. The person I hit became healthy, had a sprint burst and I'm left there stunned no hit and worse off than ever

  • Yeah some hits are being rolled back when they shouldn't, times iv hit people way before the pallets half way down and its rolled back, like come on they just started the animation... meh use to killer issues though, sound are buggy near every patch

  • Well those people call most killer unfun and boring. As soon as they show strength they have an issue
