I feel like this perk only has value against dumb survivors or in very niche situations where someone has already been sacrificed. The reason being that hooks are almost always close together until people start dying, and the killer can strategically sacrifice to avoid successful body blocking scenarios.
-
I don't find it that grindy, since you can strategically manipulate its patterns 9/10 times. Though, perks are full RNG on what it decides to eat. The ease of getting bloodpoints now is much greater than it used to be. It's far and away easier to break 20k as a survivor now, even dying, as well as offerings and perk bonuses being increased over time. It's nothing compared to a year ago, and a year before that, even. I heard the Legacy blood webs were insane, and there was hardly any additional bloodpoint-earning avenues back then.

The bloodweb is the worst part about this game in all seriousness. If you had 1 million bloodpoints, it could literally take you 30 minutes to use it all. It's annoying and a waste of time.
It doesn't even take 10 minutes to spend 1 million on a fresh character/prestige, and it usually gets said character to level 36-40.
-
It's barely any points at all.
I'm not sure why people aren't saying something about the Slippery Meat change when Deliverance exists.

I decided to solo queue tonight for the first time in, like, a year. First game was a poor console Hag with no addons that never really committed to any chases, but she snagged someone at the end for a kill. Unsure if they were on a challenge or a daily there.
Second game: Myers runs around hunting me, the obsession. He ignores everyone else, and the other survivors just run around him while he keeps looking for me. At the end, catches me, goes EW3, and moris me. A couple of the other survivors even tried leading him to me in the beginning. Very frustrating to have the killer tunnel you, and then your own teammates help him find you...
First time eating the leaver penalty.
Edit: Very next game: griefed by an Adam against an Ebony Mori Hag. Like, ######### is with getting sandbagged tonight?
-
Hag is still massively unpopular. The Ruin nerf hit her pretty damn hard, though.

This goes for the survivor version one as well. What seem's to be happening is the game count's one act of deviousness or the last act and only apply's that.

Can say this is true to a point. The game gives you way more point's but not the full. Same goes for Pyramid Head, you wont get the full points from the category added but you'll get at least a decent amount so it's not a slug to do.
Edit was for spelling.
Ouch. I can't imagine realistic completion of this hinging on Trapper with Distressing ending the game's deviousness event on a successful trap. lol
Hopefully, this will all be fixed soon. It's an insane roadblock in the first tome.

I’m having the same exact issue as well and it even looked to me like it was regressing?? No clue but mine usually only goes up about 20 bloodpoints each time
Yeah, I've now seen multiple reports of this occurring posted on reddit, too. Seems like this challenge in particular is busted.

been going back and doing old challenged I hadn't done before. currently working on the killer challenge to trap 2 people in the same match as the Trapper, and I'll be goddamned if the survivors just kept disarming them. Disarming should require a skill check or something.
I'd be down for skill checks or/and longer disarm times if they didn't outright alert him. Trapper is pretty autopilot, and doesn't actually need to pay attention to his traps all that much.

I know the devs said they were bringing LGBT our way but havent admitted to who yet.
But I feel Yui was made lesbian from the start. She has the closest ties to seemingly enjoying company of woman.
Theres a lot more here I just cant express in words. Maybe someone else can help?
Anywho, I look forward to her rift cause I feel her lore will be the day to celebrate. ❤️
I'm pretty sure the canonical lesbian confirmation came before Yui's release. I would've thought it to be Meg or Nea, but there was no indication whom it was beyond a dev saying that one of the of the survivors was a lesbian. There's no romantic background in any survivor's story so far.

BHVR why do you make these Challenges??
Finish 2 generators in 1 match in the killer's terror radius.
Do you maybe not see how toxic that looks from the killer's perspective? That you hold such little regard for them you will pop not 1 but 2 generators in front of them.
I mean, this is literally what you do as a survivor in red ranks. lol
-
Fortnite's battle passes were grindy as alllllllllllllll hell. However, even they gave you points to just buy some ranks along the way if you did. DbD is brutal, though. I won't buy it unless I know I can complete it, and well... I only made it to 49~ in the last one and the rewards I wanted were like 65 and 70. lol
I was only a few challenges from completely filling out the archives, even, and the new one has a killer in it that I don't even own. :|

First off, nobody ever points out that the Nurse is not as effective as before. This version and the earliest ones are the biggest gulf in effectiveness. Yes, she's still the best killer on paper, but she's also the hardest to play, made more difficult with each version. With the sweeping nerfs to her addons, she can neither blink as many times, nor as far as before.
Previously, she could make two blinks cover most of the map from end to end, or three blinks that accomplished roughly the same thing. Now, she covers a fraction of the distance attempting the same setup.
More than ever, this limited distance and accessibility of additional chain blinks makes it harder to be effective with her. With Ruin nerfed, she has a shorter time limit to actually get her momentum going as well.
Combine all of this with how much survivors can be ######### to the player, why invest insane amounts of hours into learning a killer when another can be nearly as effective in a fraction of the time?
Sure, if you invest the time and become insanely good, you can bulldoze even the best of SWF teams, but you're going to experience a lot of suffering on the way to that goal.
-
It'd be nice if he could get a terror radius. One that is both audible when it functions, and at a radius that is actually relevant. Otherwise, he's basically ranged EW1 Myers right now.
-
Nurse, Pig, Huntress.
Nurse is a given, since you can't just spam blinks and expect to win at some point.
Pig because of how you can use traps, boxes, and knowing when someone gets it off via the icon to track survivors. There's a lot of nuance and attention, as well as forcing survivors into certain areas to make this work. If boxes are in all four corners, and you trap and hook someone in one quadrant near a box, they will get unhooked and hit that box first. If you're on one side of them, they will naturally move to the other, and you can get them to rotate in a pre-determined path to always keep a loose idea of where they are, up to when they get a trap off based on the time it takes.
Huntress is 50-50. I haven't played her since dedicated servers, but the dozens of times I've played against one they seem to be getting hatchet hits through walls and objects. (By proxy, this keeps happening with Deathslinger, too, and it's frustrating.) Beside that, hatchets take practice and reads.
I'd argue Hag, too, since she can be difficult to get a full setup against a 2-3+ SWF that burns your traps. Urban Evasion is never really an issue for me, though, since it just means a wider net for traps. But this is just contingent on a very specific top end. She is, otherwise, not any particular level of difficulty over others.
-
Looks like you got matched against high smurfs far above your skill level. That sucks.
-
It was before they fixed the infinites on Torment Creek (farm map with red barn, right?), and a Dwight kept looping me through there. Unfortunately, Bamboozle wasn't a thing until next patch, and I was on my rank 1 grind for Pig; this is the age of pre-nerf BNPs, flashlights, and Exhaustion, too. This was literally the hardest and most frustrating time to be a killer the game ever saw. The worst part was that TWO of the survivors knew these infinites, where there was 2 pallets, but Bloodlust could never activate because of the line of sight and endless distance.
Ultimately, I had to pursue other people and camp a couple of generators, before NOED finally let me get 2 kills and end with a black pip, at least. I never de-ranked in a single match after rank 9 during that, but there was a handful of black pip games. I really feel like NOED and Ruin were required back then.
-
I've been doing Iron Will, Q&Q, Lightweight, and Dance With Me/Lithe/Urban Evasion/whatever.
Unfortunately, most of the maps I roll have few vaults, and fewer opportunities to break line of sight. This is especially compounded by Midwich being the map 50% of the time.
-
Swap Thanatophobia to Monitor & Abuse if you're using A Nurse's Calling. You could also swap in Corrupt Intervention somewhere.
I run Corrupt Intervention, M&A, A Nurse's Calling (optional), Pop Goes the Weasel. Sometimes I'll use Dying Light, or another tracking perk.
-
Stridor blows on her; it completely breaks the audio range detection by forcing distant sounds to be loud and in your face, when they're still several meters away.
Also, can I tell you about our Lord and Saviour, Iron Will?
-
Me, personally, not too much. It's actually killer-specific: Get tunneled and camped by most of the one-shot killers for some reason, such as: Hillbilly, Leatherface, Myers, Ghostface, Oni (especially, #########), and lately a ton of Trappers.
In rare cases against Huntress and Pig. Doctor players have been tunneling a lot less recently, but I'm always assuming they will because his kit fully supports it.
However, when I play with friends, they seem to get universally hook camped. It's very bad, and they're all much more focused on staying alive, so there's no deliberate griefing or baiting from them. The only thing I can think is that it's a pretty easy strategy to "win", since the person will likely kill themselves before their timers run out, giving the killer a massive advantage for pressuring and securing 1-2 more kills.
-
You're operating under the belief that every survivor is an absolute machine of perfect play, and discounting how important certain generators are. You can chain hooks and repeatedly beat down the same generator that could be high value due to an exposed location, and it will force survivors to reinvest in the risk of repairing it.
Unless you're getting absolutely crushed by map RNG and getting looped because you're focusing on an extremely good survivor with a build not suited for handling it, it's an incredible perk. It biggest drawback is when survivors never tap a generator you hit, so it stays at 60-70% progress, and you can't use it again. Unfortunately, you can't simply hold it, but you can still hit other generators--the value of its regression never goes under a certain threshold.
-
Technically, the killer is still the best, but I find it incredibly difficult to play her. Some of her addons got nerfed into oblivion or completely deleted, and her overall Blink distance is a fraction of what it used to be. Gone are the days when you could overlap the charging (which was intended). Nowadays, your second Blink charge will universally be shorter than the first, since you will time out before you can technically max it out.
I still like her, but it's a huge investment to practice her, and I like playing Pig/Hag more. I'd have to spend a long time relearning proper Blinking.

Chat offence punishments aren't limited to only bans. There's endgame chat bans, just warnings, and temporary bans.
Please stop telling people bhvr does nothing. They do.
I'm honestly unsure if in-game reports do anything regarding chat stuff. I've submitted video reports of abuse stuff and nothing happened to the players. Steam will, in very rare cases, do something. Otherwise, they're massively complacent for anything hateful.

- I've always said that needs to go
- You can place portals ANYWHERE, where Freddy is limited to 7 points, at the start of the game and reduced in number as the game progresses.
- As a Pig main, hi. Let's talk TRASH RED ADD-ONS.
- He hasn't been out THAT long and with licencing, that's also going to be an issue.
- No clue here. Probably a coding thing so you don't jump onto objects.
I mean, Freddy's teleports take him to key locations, and he no longer needs to go to them once they stop being important (eg: the generator is repaired). On top of that, Freddy passively affects survivors over time. If Demo's important portals get closed, he has to walk back over there and drop it, and that can be costly.
-
1.) Hillbilly - His "nerfs" were minor at best; he got a ton of amazing addons out of his rework.
2.) Trapper - I have magnetic ankles, and sometimes don't even render traps in certain locations.
3.) Doctor - E-Z Tunnel Oven
Runners-up: Deathslinger for no TR + nearly having hitscan, Ghostface because... bugs? (community divided), and the Huntress because dedicated servers have doubled the hatchet hitbox in size for some reason.
-
I'd revert back to P2P. Way, way too much glitching happens because of it. I used to like facing Huntress before, but now it's impossible because hatchets go through walls and objects 90% of the time. I've been hit through trees, in other rooms, hit through boxes, walls, and taken numerous hits several meters away from the hatchet hitting the ground. That's just her specifically, and doesn't count all of the times where I, and sometimes even another survivor, have been stuck in random animations such as healing, repairing, unhooking, and sabotaging. Never any issues like this beforehand.
Most of this sounds like lag, but I'm at a consistent 40 ping, always.
-
@Mugombo said:
How do you counter this if you/teammates don't have a flashlight? Crouching doesn't work, as soon as you start unhooking the trap triggers and they just teleport. It's worse than normal facecamping cos they can still apply pressure on gens etc. Is there something that can be done to counter this without flashlight or nah?
Untrue. Your teammates are trash and keep letting up off of crouch at some point. It works seamlessly if you're holding it down up to the unhook and leaving. Bad Hags drop traps directly on the hook. Good ones block some of the exits and force you to go a certain direction.

Right?
And also it doesn't help that they made generators OMEGA LOUDER.
But it's not just deathslinger for me, maybe I'm just hard of hearing but The Oni, Demogorgon, and some of the original chase tracks are super hard to hear from 32m until the killer is like 24 or even some cases 16m away.
Yes, almost all of the new killers have absurdly hard to hear terror radii sounds. The Blight is the latest addition and he's the worst one--if he's 6 meters or 28, it sounds the same.
-
I don't use DS because it seems to be bugged right now. I stunned the killer for 0.25 seconds last time and he instantly hit me coming out of it.
-
I wish I could activate my own traps. I don't even use Pig's Ambush unless it's to farm points, since you can get into melee range and use it for a hit--provided there's no pallets or vaults nearby.
Currently, Ambush serves no purpose, other than to Crouch and nullify your terror radius at times when traveling. You can keep the Undetectable rolling without losing too much speed when commuting, but why hit people when you can exit crouching and just pull them off of something?
-
@Leachy_Jr said:
He has the illusion of having no terror radius because you instantly start running when he comes close. You only get to hear about 4m of terror radius before the chase actually begins.
Plus that his terror radius is pretty quiet.
In one round, it would only play after he was almost in melee range. Why does ranged Myers not have a terror radius?

This. I don't use Ruin+Undying. because i noticed a highered usage of anti-totem-perks/items.
The upside to that is that they're burning perk slots and items that could otherwise advance the game or hinder you directly. Running multiple hexes forces the survivors to hunt them down, especially before they reach critical mass. (Huntress' Lullaby, Devour Hope, and Third Seal can all change the game at 3+ stacks.)
-
Moris are for bad players. Instant win condition consumables like those and many Very Rare/Ultra Rare addons should be reworked or removed. The game isn't fun when you load in knowing you've won/lost because the challenge is circumvented. This includes Purple/Red keys.
I greatly, greatly avoid tunneling because of how much it sucks to be on the receiving end. It's the absolute last resort to getting a 3-4K.
-
It's not a weak perk. It can be very impacting at 3 stacks, and devastating at 4-5. I've had games completely stop because of that perk, and one against a Huntress years ago where we spent 15+ minutes just looking for the damned thing on Badham after it had already hit 5 stacks. We couldn't get enough lasting repairs done while it was up, and takes a lot of focus to hit the silent skill checks consistently.

Than run calm spirit every game. Problem solved.
That's like saying, "Oh, you struggle with the Hag? Run Urban Evasion every game!"
Being forced to run a specific perk to annihilate a single killer's kit is stupid logic and poor game balance at best.
-
Nonstop screaming. Other killers have to find survivors. The Doctor just pops his low cooldown auto-finder and is then already chasing somebody. Combine it with Barbeque & Chili--which nearly every killer uses, and he's basically got all targets lined up from the first time he uses it and makes someone scream.
No searching. No effort. After his buffs, nearly every vault and pallet are unsafe, so his chase time got cut in half or less. He's awful to play against if you aren't running Calm Spirit, and imagine new players having to deal with that. His skill check effects almost universally cause you to miss some on top of all of that.
-
No hackers so far with crossplay so far.
Dedicated servers would greatly deter hacking on PC, wouldn't it?
-
I remember facing one of the famous rank 1 Hillbilly players, like, 2 years ago and he used it. He didn't get a lot of use, since he camped me at my hook to death.
-
I run Corrupt Intervention and Pop Goes the Weasel when climbing ranks. The game doesn't really play the same after the Ruin nerf--pallets also got drastically reduced, toolboxes, and Great skill checks got nerfed as well. While there's less things to slow down the survivors, there's less pallets to slow down the killer.
At the upper end, where survivors are significantly more bold to repair near you, and at all costs, you still need something to gain your advantage. You could always resort to the "3 Gen" strat, but I hate doing that as a killer. It's easy to setup by just waiting, and then you just patrol all three. Run Overcharge and Unnerving Presence, and you can basically shut them down and kill the survivors by attrition.
I prefer to actually go out and hunt, though, and I can't have pressure everywhere before I start rolling hooks and injuries.
-
I must be the unluckiest survivor dead cause I never get slugged when running Unbreakable. Literally ever.
-
Survivors do it because they get a free 300-800 more Boldness bloodpoints. If you're both moving, it initiates a chase, and them leaving triggers the exit. You can even get, oddly, Assist or Protection credit sometimes. To further this, any survivors not out or at the gates are contingency in case someone gets caught, and they can try to rescue.
Just force them out to end the game faster.

I actually miss the heartbeat, but its been super interesting not having it. I'm getting used to not having a heartbeat, listening for the music, and paying attention to Spine Chill. I sometimes don't even use Spine Chill.
This might be semi-okay if the terror radius for each new killer didn't become quieter and blend in with the ambiance more and more with each new one. The Blight is very difficult to tell when he's close, and the same happens to Pyramid Head on some maps.
-
Hillbilly, cause of balance. I do better against the Spirit, amusingly.
Also, Trapper. I know him inside and out, and where to check for traps, but I swear to god I have magnetic ankles.
-
I guess if your SWF is all 500 hours and have the map landmarks memorized survivor is easier.
Otherwise, playing killer and knowing the survivor spawn algorithm is pretty easy...
-
The Blight is just a worse version of Hillbilly. Why would you play a killer that can't one-shot, when you could play one that can one-shot at any time and cross the map in much less time?
-
Them changing the Adept achievements really broke it for a lot of killers. Even back then, they were difficult, and I got Pig on the first try and Hag on the third for just getting 4Ks. She has a better setup, being 3 hexes, but that doesn't give her an innate advantage due to having stronger perk synergy elsewhere. They really should just change it back to a 4K, because she relies too much on Third Seal and Devour Hope to make hers happen.
-
Fans can ship whomever they want, since it's not canon. A game like this hasn't really opened a lot of story for characters to be developed like this. The only thing I'd seen is that someone confirmed one of the characters was gay (but hadn't said whom).
-
If you know she's trying to speed towards you purely to catch up, run at her. Nobody expects that, and you have to be listening very intently to catch a survivor doing it.
Iron Will is very helpful by forcing her to fully predict what you're doing during her phasing, but it's not a magic bullet by itself.
