Judging from how no one uses the perk anymore, how most of the community thinks it sucks and how killers dont even respect it anymore kind of a fact that the perk flat out sucks.

unless you get downed near a pallet or strong window, then use it to reset the chase.

Before the DS nerf (6.1.0) I can confidently say that it was a lot scarier and more risky to tunnel because of the existence of DS and that 5s stun. I’m not going to act like it was perfectly designed because there were flaws, such as it working endgame. However, it definitely made me think twice before picking up someone or even chasing them in the first place. Now, it’s not even a thought. Off the record while very nice, will often be used in the same amount of time as basekit bt would have. And now when you do tunnel someone, you’re not scared of DS and even if they do have it, it’s so pathetic that you don’t care.
Proposed Changes:
Change 1- Increase stun duration
This is the most simple solution, whether they change it back to 5s or to 4s to compensate doesn’t matter as the extra seconds make a huge impact and will make DS a big threat again.
Change 2- Increase usage
As most of you know, when hitting (or failing) the skill check DS is gone for the rest of the game. This made sense when the stun was 5s but now that it is 3s having 2 DS stuns in 1 game could be a new way of making it a threat as while the stun is still short, it will add up.
Change 3- Increase activation duration
DS lasts for 60s after the unhook, which is a little short as when you are being tunnelled it could run out mid chase and then it does nothing. It could be increased to 70s or 80s whatever seems reasonable. In addition to this specific change I believe the difficult skill check should be removed as the effect will still be weak and the perk shouldn’t do nothing if you’re a newer player or you have bad FPS.
If anyone has read this far I would like to thank you for taking the time to read all of this. Whether you agree or disagree is fine, however it’s important to keep this discussion civil as we won’t get anywhere with bad faith arguing.
Its not feared because it sucks

I'm curious, what's your most unpopular opinion about DBD? I'll go first.
Prove Thyself is a trash perk and it's overrated. It's a noob trap that promotes inefficiency. You and your team are better off splitting up on gens.
Object of Obsession is a decent perk IF you use it in a specific build.
The people who think Made For This doesn't need a nerf are the same people who probably plays high tier killers or are survivor mains so they don't understand it's impact in matches. If the killer is 10 meters away chasing you and you have Made For This, it'll take 21 seconds for them to catch up oppose from the default 17 seconds. On certain maps, Made For This can turn loop into infinites and the Killer won't even get Bloodlust.
Aura reading perks are overrated
Jill valentine is the best survivor in the game…oh and thawk is a good perk

Bringing this character into fog as new killer would make a lot money for BHVR i think. Because Lady D is so popular.
If there is any chance for another RE chapter, Lady D 100% should be new killer because from new generation RE villains, she is probably the most loved one.
I wouldn’t mind dying to her, shes hot

I dont understand why perks like sprint burst, lithe, balanced landing and other exhaustion perks exist. they have NO downsides, it takes ZERO skill to use it and wastes the killers precious time. what im suppose to do when playing m1 killers? I sneak to a gen, I uncrouch, survivor starts holding W and makes it to safe pallet. meanwhile all I can do is watch him get away. I dont understand why nobody mentions how busted and broken exhaustion is. I know this game is super survivor sided unless im playing nurse or blight, but man I had enough of these exhaustion already. they need to be REMOVED from this game.
Hmmm on sure we can do that once all exposed perks are gone then…and that includes noed

Do the maths, that is all.
Everytime you draw 5 meters with the killer you get 2 extra seconds of chase with MFT. It means that when the killer breaks a pallet or vault a window you get 2s of extra chase with MFT. Those 2 seconds can be used to reach a new loop 90% of the time.
Old DH gave you that extra time only once per chase. With MFT you get those 2 seconds till you get down.
That is pure logic, i do not even udnerstand how you cannot see it.
I loop way longer with MFT than what i was able to do with old DH.
I could care less about the “maths” did you even play vs pre 6.1 dead hard? They perk destroyed every killers power with the click of a button. Range killers like huntress had it rough. Hell it let you go over trappers traps, can made for this do that?. Also it allows you to make a pallet or window from far away.
-
@UnavailableName said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3483088#Comment_3483088
MFT is better than 1.6.0 DH.
DH gave you a distance boost to reach a single pallet, then you were exhausted and could not use it again to reach another pallet. MFT gives you a constant 3% haste that will allow you to reach multiple pallets in a single chase.
As said before, old DH was visually impressive and frustrating for the killer. Visually, MFT does nothing impressive, you just see a survivor running faster.
But MFT transform some semi unsafe tiles into pretty safe tiles. Also, MFT adds new viable choke points in many tiles and jungle gyms.
It is completely busted. Do the maths and see for yourself.

You can think a character who doesn't have a confirmed sexuality is straight all you want, but that's just a headcanon. It's not because you think they're straight that they are. Just like it's not because someone else thinks they're bi that you're not allowed to think they're straight.
You think a character is straight ? cool
You think a character is straight so people who disagree are wrong and hate straight characters ? Just no, your opinion isn't more valuable than theirs and as long as nothing is confirmed no assumption is right or wrong.
“You can think a character who doesn't have a confirmed sexuality is straight all you want, but that's just a headcanon.” Well the characters they mentioned above claire leon chris and laurie they have only been with the opposite sex multiple times so yeah they are straight. Assuming they are bi just because and having 0 evidence of it is dumb imo

I don't assume anything, going back in adding something they never thought of when creating and adding to the lore of a character after so long is not real. That character was never even thought of in that light and any change to them now would only be disingenuous to the community. Many might disagree with me, but if you call claud homosexual for the sake of it after 7 years than yeah, that's dumb.
It was never part of the character, just barely an afterthought.
I agree with you

I mean if we want to nitpick it's not because someone is in a het relationship that they're straight (could be bi or whatever) but if we're being realistic yeah that's probably right
depends. If a certain character is only seen being with one gender no matter what it is, then it means they are only into the one specific gender. In order to be bi you need to into both. Like steve and claire you can say that they might be bi but they have only shown being interested in the opposite gender. This is just my opinion tho

This isn’t necessarily a question about viability or where they rank on a tier list (but of course those factors may influence your enjoyment)- it’s how many killers do you have in constant rotation and have fun with, whether you win, lose or draw. With the killer roster at 30+ characters I’m interested to see how many of those you guys actually enjoy playing as or whether you have really strict mains.
I’m seeing a lot of posts across DBD social media concerning Wesker’s almost omnipresence in matches in contrast with questions regarding “why does nobody play x killer”, with ‘x’ currently seeming to be singularity at the moment.
Killers I always seem to have fun with are Spirit, Slinger, Pyramid Head, Nemesis, Pinhead, Wesker and Knight. I would add on that I can have good fun with Billy, Myers, Sadako and Dredge but this is more dependent on other factors. With the others I have fun almost all of the time, even losing.
I only really enjoy demogorgon pyramid head and nemesis

Not a bad idea actually. Make them function similarly to how the new BNPs will.
Instead of increasing repair speed, they don't repair at all. Instead any "repairs" made with the toolbox take charges away from the maximum required charges.
If the killer doesn't interrupt and regress the gen, then using a toolbox changes nothing and doesn't speed up repairs at all. But if you use a toolbox and it takes off say 30 charges, then if that gen regresses to zero, it'll only take 60 charges to re-repair.
Less genrushing, but more protection against regression and 3-genning.
Im just glad this idea didnt get pushback💀
-
@CrusaderNella said:
While this is very VERY unlikely to happen, I want to discuss a hypothetical mega rework of generators.
What would you say about a big change that standardizes gen speeds?
What i mean is mainly, tool boxes can no longer be used to increase gen repair speed, however both killer and survivor perks can still influences generator repair speeds, but all are nerfed. (And this means both Perks that increases gen repair time, and perks that work against generator repair times.)
All in all, these changes are made to set the gen repair rate at an average speed that both parties can accurately account for.
Is this a bad idea or do I perhaps have something good here? What are your thoughts?
I wouldnt mind toolbox not speed up gens but here is my issue. If you make it so that they only work as sabo items, then your gonna see kills lobby dodging because sabo squads are annoying. I think the tool boxes should only speed up gens that have lost progress or have been damaged. What do you think about that idea?

I use to agree with the statement "Legion is boring" a few years back or so, but after doing a lot of testing, and a lot of public matches later, and I personally just cannot agree with it anymore.
The issue with Legion has nothing to do with Legion itself, it is entirely your teammates.
Legion's entire power based around removing Survivor's ability to group up effectively. This means that the only counterplay for Legion's power is splitting up... it's 2023 and everyone knows this.
Here is the thing about Legion. People always say "Legion is a mending simulator" and "they never dedicate to a single chase" yet you never bother to why that is? How about we take two steps back and look at what I previously wrote and maybe youll get the hint... yea... yall are grouped up.
I know a lot of people will argue that they "spread out" but how spread out are you really? If Legion is not dedicating to a single chase, or forcing you to mend constantly, then YOU (yes, YOU, the Survivor) are not spacing out enough.
Legion is boring, not because of their power, but because YOU make it boring for yourself, because YOU wont space out enough, because YOU refuse to actually learn real counterplay to Legion.
Legion is easy to counter. But solo que exist. Even then legion is boring to face. Constantly injured and mending is lame. I played vs two legion games back to back and the second game i just killed myself on first hook. The first game was a boring slog fest and i wasn’t interested in another match

I will talk about my personal exp.
Killer = First i have to say this. I am tryhard player when it comes to killer. I am using strongest perks and decent add-ons on my killers. I am usually playing Nemmy, Sadako, Wesker, Nurse, Clown, Legion and Wraith. Lately i added Pig to my list as well.
And i am just doing fine with them. Sadako and Clown kinda makes me super sweaty because it's really hard to win as them. But my general killer tactic is focusing on 2 of survivors and getting them dead hook first. So whenever i need to make one of them out, i have 2 options to use.
I am not saying it's win most of times on killer but i am winning quiet well. And killer meta is good atm because they are rewarding you if you get hooks good enough.
Solo Survivor / Non-Voice SWF = However when i play survivor, it's really so hard to enjoy. Survivor meta perks are fun, i will give that. But sadly anti-tunnel perks are so bad.
DS is doing almost nothing. And OtR has not great effect honestly, Endurance was never great anti-tunnel effect. Which means tunnelling is super meta atm because there is honestly nothing to punish killer for tunnelling.
Without fear, killers are just tunnelling. It's me or one of the my teammates. It depends on who hooked first. And tunnelling is seriously makes my survivor games miserable and painful.
And i don't even think it's for pressure. Because i am seeing tunnelling more on Blights, Nurses than Wraiths, Pigs etc.
I am not playing this game with voice-chat, so i have no opinion for normal SWF.
I can’t believe im saying this…but my games for both sides went….great🤯

I must remind people, that regardless of the outcome, we are lucky to have community cosmetics added to the game to begin with, and any community cosmetics should be celebrated since it's a huge win for us as a community. Instead of tearing people down, we should be lifting one another up here!
Anyways congratulations to the winners! Idk if any of them use the Forums, they probably dont, so Idk if they will see it, but yall did an amazing job designing these, would be glad to see what yall come up with next!
I gave the person that did the yun jin design a follow. They seem like a very nice person and they deserved to win the contest fair and square

@EasyMcgee said:
(I rant for a little bit about my thought process, scroll if you want to get to the actual idea)
I was thinking recently about the hatch. Specifically how it's pretty lame that whether or not the last survivor escapes and the killer gets 3 or 4 kills is usually down to pure luck. And how this system, by most conceivable metrics (kills, hook stages, emblems, bloodpoints), encourages the killer to slug the penultimate survivor and spend those 4 minutes looking for the last one, to deny the possibility of the hatch spawning.
So leads me to this post, where I want to try and think of a way to fix this, and hopefully suggest a system that is more fun and more fair. Feel free to tell me why this is a great or terrible idea, or suggest your own solution.
While the current solo endgame is not a terrific system, it does solve two very important problems. 1) The last survivor needs to reason to not just hide forever. 2) If the survivor does still decide to do that, the killer needs a way to end the game. The new system cannot compromise this. Additionally, it shouldn't last much longer than the current system. As much as I enjoy playing this game I'd rather not drag out the matches any longer than they already can be.
I want the new endgame to involve skill from both sides, have as little rng as is realistic, give each player a roughly equal shot at coming out on top assuming roughly equal skill, discourage slugging for the 4k, and above all else be fun.
IDEA STARTS NOW
The Last Stand
(exact numbers are negotiable)
Firstly, the hatch is removed entirely. This means that keys, left behind, and sole survivor need reworks, which I have ideas for, and hatch offerings need to be removed or given total reworks.
Secondly, besides the above, if the exits gates are already powered this doesn't happen and gameplay proceeds as normal.
When there are 2 survivors left, and a survivor is hooked or dying, they have the option to instantly kill themselves regardless of bleedout/hook timer. (maybe reward with bloodpoints or smth to minimize trolling)
When three survivors are killed, the Last Stand begins. The last survivor is healed to healthy, and alleviated of of all statuses, including killer specifics, ie they are awake, uninfected, etc. Their aura is revealed to the killer for 5 seconds.
For the purposes of hope, noed, etc the gates are considered powered and the generators are considered finished, but they cannot be opened.
When the killer is further than 16 meters from the survivor, they gain killer instinct on them. (Not aura reading because distortion/shadow step/lockers would make this really stupid)
After 120 seconds (timer shown on screen) the exit gates are opened. (and it does the bubble thing so the survivor knows where they are) Each generator finished reduces this time by 20 seconds. (You could maybe instead make it so that they auto escape and that'd probably be fine, but the time would definitely need to be longer, and I like the gate idea better)
You could also add the finisher mori so that you cant bleedout the last guy, but that's not necessary to the concept.
General idea I'm going for is that the last guy can escape if they last long enough in chase, and the killer gets their kill if they can end a chase fast enough. I think that pretty fair, and fits the spirit of the game. I'd like to incorporate the number of hook stages this survivor has left, but can;t think of a good way.
Left behind now decreases the last stand timer by 10/20/30 seconds.
Solo survivor increases the distance the killer won't detect you during last stand by 4/6/8 meters.
Keys are now used to instantly/very quickly open exit gates. (i know in universe this doesn't make sense since the gates are opened by levers but... they're KEYS. KEYS open DOORS. It should've always been like this, fight me.)
So that y'all know what variety of stupid comments to leave, I am a console killer main (Oni/Various M1s) of 900 hours who started playing just after the prestige changes. Jokes aside I'd love to know what y'all think of my idea.
“General idea I'm going for is that the last guy can escape if they last long enough in chase, and the killer gets their kill if they can end a chase fast enough. I think that pretty fair, and fits the spirit of the game.” Just give the killer a 4k as soon as its a 2v1 then

My point was that even if you don't find something scary, that doesn't mean it's not horror or that it's lost it's horror vibe because horror is subjective and comes in alot of different ways, shapes and forms as it isn't restricted to just that of conventional horror, Trickster not being scary does not make him non-horror.
Also the whole "something isn't scary, therefore it's not horror" or "This game isn't scary, therefore it's not a horror game anymore" arguments are both incredibly flawed ones because then nothing is really horror because there's always going to be people that aren't afraid of something or find something more spooky over other things regardless of if it's something that conventionally suppose to be scary or not.
I get what your saying tho I respectfully disagree

The killer (while SLIGHTLY better now) feels atrocious to play, making a supposed map pressure + intel killer into a mediocre at best anti-loop because one EMP (which they can hold forever and wait until you infect them mind you) and your one tool of gen/map pressure is gone for 45 seconds.
the map is ridiculously cluddered and has some extreme RNG issue’s with how windows and tiles can spawn (imo), although, it is very pretty i can’t deny.
it feels like people kinda forced themselves to like the chapter because ToT came before or because the killer “looks cool”
Garbage chapter. Made even more disappointing that it was an anniversary chapter

Trickster not looking scary is kinda the point of his character.
He's not suppose to look scary because his horror stems from him being normal on the outside but twisted and fcked up on the inside, when he drops the facade of normality and start showing his true colors.
He's basically the Terry Simmons/Norman Bates/Patrick Bateman of Dead by Daylight.
Even if it was the point, i still dont find him scary

Digging the Goth Chick vibes eh? I gettit xD
I dunno, she kinda has that Melina thing from MK going. Mostly normal looking with a couple of predominant features that are pretty freaky, namely the dripping ink from her mouth/hands/feet and her voidlike eyes.
There is that skin that has the Cronenberg-esk mouth, removing her lower jaw and having teeth going all down into her neck... that looks absolutely badass...
Now that skin with the weird jaw would have made her more intimidating if it was her base look

"non-scary"? Trickster is the actual killer, his terror music composed from his victim screams. Of course you can say he's not scary because of his really bright look, but it's probably made for balance purposes, since he's ranged. Huntress is pretty bright killer as well.
Artist it's really subjective, first time i hear someone saying she's not scary.
Skull merchant? kinda yeah, this is worst killer design in the game, but she still creep out since her drone ability removes terror.
Tricksters lore is very good. Some of the best in the game. But he doesnt look intimidating. Artist looks hot. Thats it. She doesnt look intimidating either. And skull merchant just looks stupid.
