- Excess Slugging in the beginning of the Game can kinda ruin it, All it takes is one foolhearty and one unaware Survivors to get a 4K.
I think this something both-sides can agree on, There isnt much game to be had if it ends easily early.
So if we take the idea from the Finishing Mori PTB, but put some limiters on it.
- We give Survivors a resource like 'Blood' when you run out of blood you bleed out. (4min, like normal.)
- At above 50% a Survivor will get back up themselves after 45 sec. automatically at the cost of blood.
(number from PTB, maybe it should be 30secs)
- At half blood (hooked once) the Survivor cannot get back up alone. (Unbreakable here)
Hooking a Survivor for the first time now automatically drains blood equal down to 49% (leaving 2min of slug time)
Hooking a Survivor for the second time, could then drain blood to 24% (1min of slug time)
- The Blood resource runs out at 4min like normal, which means a Survivor can 'unslug' themselves 2.6666 Times which is fine imo.
- I think this is a great compromise, it plugs up the Early Game Slugging Problem (unless you Blight/Nurse) by putting limits on the impact it can have. While also heightening the tension of mid to late game slugging by limiting how long those can go on for.
I honestly want to try this.
- Excess Slugging in the beginning of the Game can kinda ruin it, All it takes is one foolhearty and one unaware Survivors to get a 4K.

But we all disagree on many things, not to mention, if they did things they think will work people would rise to complain about it.
I know for sure your point 2. is bogus. It takes like 8 hours max to reach P1 which is the unlocking stage for perks. To get all perks you need to play that 35 times for Killers and 41 times for all Survivors, if you buy all DLCs. That will be 600hours.
Then again, that is only if you want all the busted perks and why would you? To raise your mmr into hell? nah, I play with random perks myself, I rarely pick the meta and I beg for bHVR to add a random perk option so I can get a cool new experience every game. -
Yeah, Healing from out of sight to prevent the Killer picking up a person is incredibly exploitable.
The Easy Fix is for bHVR to make the Killer take priority even if the Survivor is being healed.A better fix would be sacrifice, meaning any player who tries to heal a downed survivor the Killer is trying to pick up will get hit with an m1 attack, like how generator grab validation works some times.
-
Windows of Opportunity is a nice perk that you can run and do well in the game with without having to learn too much.
It would be unwise for bHVR to nerf this perk too much as it pretty much holds up alot of casual players imo -
What would that improve tho?
I dont think the game needs to enable people who dodge lobbys even more. -

Not even Norse Mythology has Vikings as monsters, if bHVR is gonna add a Nordic Idea to their game, the Fenrir Wolf is my pick.

First, I just want to make it absolutely clear that this is not intended to 'solve tunneling'. This change is solely to make the perk provide more consistent value when it activates, not bring an end to the entire tunneling playstyle. I wouldn't recommend approaching this with the idea that it will end tunneling entirely as that is not the purpose behind the change - you would be setting yourself up for disappointment.
Secondly, regarding disabling Killer powers: I see this getting suggested a lot, but this is not an option. It's one of those things that sounds really simple on paper, but once you start drilling down into it, it turns out to be a whole can of worms. Each Killer power works differently from one another, and there is no one-size-fits all solution that can apply to all of them. Each power would need to be considered on a case by case basis to determine what should happen when they're 'disabled'.
For example, even if you disable the Killer's power button to stop The Nurse from blinking, there are multiple Killers who may already have traps set up around the map - would these also need to be disabled, or are they okay since they were already there? Some Killers also have passive powers/mechanics, such as The Cenobite's Chain Hunt, which would also need to be considered. It would also limit the possibilities for future Killer powers since we would always need to worry, "But how would it work if it was disabled by this one specific perk?"
To be frank, this would be unsustainable. With over 30 Killers in the game and more on the way, having special conditions for each one would require far too much ongoing support just to make that condition feasible. To give an real example from the past, the original version of Tinkerer used to increase the effectiveness of all charge speed add-ons. Even with only a handful of Killers in the game at the time, it ended up being very confusing for players to keep track of which add-ons it could affect, a nightmare to balance because those add-ons could be too strong with the perk or too weak without it, and an unreasonable amount of work to upkeep as the game grew. In the same way, this would require quite a bit of additional work to be done for every Killer just to support one perk. It's one of the reasons that perks typically don't interact with powers, and the few that do are gradually moving away from that (e.g. Adrenaline waking up Survivors).
Don't get me wrong, it's a neat idea and the intention behind it is good, but it's way outside the scope for a single perk and could quickly turn into a confusing mess.
Dear bHVR it may not be as unsustainable as you think, Sure for one perk it might be.
But you can also use the power disable for many more things, like you used it in the Special Rifts in the Halloween event.
Those rifts will return surely in some form again? It may come in handy and to that it does not really matter that other weaker Killers could maybe gain some advantage vs. one perk:- Pre-Placed Skull merchant Drones.
- Pre-Placed Trapper Traps
- Pre-Placed Freddy Pools
- Pre-Placed Knight Guard.
- Hag with Scarred Hand or Waterlogged Shoe.
- Pre-thrown Clown Gas Bottle.
- Nemesis Zombies.
- Pinhead's Chain Hunt.
- Pig's Pigs Reverse Bear Trap Countdown.
None of these are as big an issue as Blight or Nurse. In fact I think most players would be glad that DS would work better again the worst offenders, instead of making it worse for everybody while mildly affecting those Killers that it really matters for.
I hope bHVR takes this into reconsideration.
My suggestion is 5 sec stun + 15 seconds power buttons disable upon activating DS.
-
I could dig a Malaysian Chapter.
-
I don't see why this would make her any less frustrating to go against. Her problem is not; hacking drones dont give a reward so its not worth doing it. No, hacking drones is so people dont get tagged and bagged undue, thats what her power does.
I think what is most frustrating is that she can change her movement speed and you have no idea. And it just hits you.
I think bHVR should give her a secondary running animation for when she is buffed with haste.
-
I still think DS should disable Killer powers for 10 seconds, even if it stuns for 5 seconds.
The reason being that ranged and fast Killers can still close that 3 second cap, Otz proved that in a video.@[Deleted User] said:
If it's in such a great spot, why does nobody use it?
DS is in a greater spot than most perks.
-
As a Killer Main, 4/5 tunnels would not happen, if Survivors did not unhook when the Killer had seen them.
I think Survivors need to think about what they are teaching Killers to when they unhook 5 seconds after we hooked them.
I don't believe the solution lies in making more anti-tunnel perks or making them stronger.
-
But you destroy pallets in 2.5 seconds rendering them unusable for all Survivors for the rest of the Trial.
-
The amount of times I have lost track of a survivor due to blood zones is large, Thank you for helping us Killers.
-
For how many Seconds? 120 Seconds.
You are planning on making Survivors be able to t-bag in front of me consequence free for 120seconds???
-
Well if bHVR finished that Lights Out mode and makes it a thing they wanna support fully, then you got your wish.
-
I have seen Sloppy Butcher and Gift of Pain quite a few times still.
- You want Sloppy Butcher if you play a hit and run strategy or lose survivors easily.
- You want Gift of Pain if you wish to make sure Survivors get penalized on healing from unhooking, and -16% action decrease.
I think it was a pretty good change, despite that Survivors usually want to play safe. If they want to do that, then you can wrack up a modest accumulating reward or they can put themselves in danger, that's the choice. But it might be better to look at how busted Sloppy Butcher was before this change. Before it always accumulated reward since it was able to last forever.
I think it made sense to address it as bHVR worked on the game's healing since end of last year, forever value and perks being super reliable is probably something we can expect bHVR to take a look at.
I expect perks like Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance and Pop to get some counter play eventually.
-
Best I can agree to is 3 sec stun + 10 sec power disable.

My post has nothing to do with ridiculing or shaming. I don't really care what you believe
I'm just pointing out a fact. If you're trying to be helpful and empathetic to a community and their issues, you probably shouldn't go around calling a hideous creature wearing human clothes a caricature of that community. This strikes me as basic common sense.
That is right you did not mention ridicule or shame, but you did not provide any reason why people would follow your advice if they disagree with you. So did you mean per request? By what method did you mean to get them to stop? Either way, I think the alternative I adhere to is better.
And to correct you, I'm not saying the cheerleader skins are a caricature of our community or anyone else. To me its perfectly fair to call something an offensive caricature without that having anything to do with anyone specifically.

Again calling it a 'caricature' is only doing harm and is perpetuating the notion that there's any truth to it, which there is not. People really need to stop calling it that, I don't understand how people who are trying to 'help' are going around saying that
It is nowhere near the claudette bubba mask thing, at least that one could be seen as offensive even in context. As much as I didn't like seeing content removed from the game it was understandable but this is nowhere close to being the same.
People tend to express their opinions freely, and suggesting that they're causing harm by holding certain beliefs might not encourage them to silence themselves; in fact, it could have the opposite effect. Personally, I believe it's not a great idea to make others feel bad about their beliefs. Instead, I prefer engaging with those I disagree with in open, constructive conversations conducted in good faith. This approach, in my view, is more effective.
In the end, fostering an environment built on mutual respect, empathy, and understanding tends to lead to more productive discussions and positive outcomes compared to shaming or belittling people for their beliefs. It's generally not recommended to intentionally make individuals feel bad about holding mistaken beliefs. While correcting misinformation and promoting accurate understanding are important, resorting to shame or ridicule often proves counterproductive.
-
I genuinely empathize with the challenges posed by your OCD and sincerely hope for the best for you. It's important to acknowledge that bHVR likely didn't implement a solution for this issue out of disregard or malice, but rather due to various factors.
To contribute constructively to addressing this issue, I'd like to revisit an old suggestion: the concept of an Entity Xmas Holiday Gift. This gift could contain any charm missed in previous Rift Tracks, contests, or giveaways. Implementing such a solution would offer players a fair opportunity to obtain missed items over time, preserving the excitement and engagement of events while resolving the issue of inaccessible content.

the problem i have with all this is that in the end it still leaves a "this looks to male to be seen as female" point and that is wrong in itself. you said it yourself in the beginning when you mentioned broad shoulders and that stuff like that can be seen as a trans strerotype mockery but what is with all the broud build woman out there with saying that feature x on a female body can be seen as trans mockery you automaticly say there is a right way to look like female.
and yes you tryed to make it clear that you dont think that there is a "right" way to look or to not look but you surely get what i mean. when we want to aviod certain looks on a killer that can be both male or female cause we fear it could be used to attack trans people then by doing that we devalue that there are plenty of woman that look more masculin or that have certain masculin features or men that are build very feminin and then you just hurt a diffrent group of people even so you just treyd to not hurt another group.
in my mind the best way to fight back right now is for bhvr to take a very firm stance and to openly talk about that the skin is not ment to be a mockery of trans people or even trans rep in intself sinze its littraly the body of a woman and to take only the harshest option in puneshing people that get reported to attack people only with proof ofcourse we dont want to turn this into some sort of witchhunt where we try to get everyone banned that we just remotely dont like.
as a last note i want to say you are a very polite fellow and even so our oppinions differ this did not turn into some shouting match to see who is right. i would like to offer you some advice and that would be to not dwell anylonger in the pool of pure hatred that is called twitter. from my own expirience its not worth your sanity, sure there are some very good and smart people that try to spread wisdom and good massages but sadly most people on that platform just want to rage and thats why so many thing going on there are ragebate and most things get blown way out of proportion
I see what you mean, but the reason I don't agree on this when it comes to art is that I'm a bit of an artist myself and I have often take choices to make my designs better for more people, which is why I make a difference with real people and art when it comes to critique. If you wanted to convince me that there is a wrong-think about making that critique when it comes to art, I don't know where to start on that, its very fundamental to my artistry.
You are also very polite, its has been a pleasure to talk to you.

When detecting transphobic caricatures in a game, it's crucial to consider not only how characters appear within the game but also how they may be perceived out of context. Look for character designs that rely on exaggerated or offensive features associated with transgender individuals, such as overly broad shoulders or exaggerated facial features, which will perpetuate harmful stereotypes.
We also seek feedback from transgender individuals or organizations to gain insight into how the character designs are perceived and consider the broader context within the game, including narrative themes and tone, to determine if the portrayal contributes to a hostile or unwelcoming atmosphere for transgender players.
When it comes to the cheerleader skin it is indeed not an exact duplicate, that is not what I have been saying. I am saying it isn't different enough to not accidently look like a transphobic caricatures and a stereotype. When I talk about looking for exaggerated or offensive features associated with transgender individuals, I'm not saying there's a 'right' way for anyone, whether a woman or otherwise, to look. It's about recognizing and challenging harmful stereotypes that unfairly characterize transgender people, a character in a horror videogame that crawls into people's bodies is no easy task to avoiding stereotype territory, indeed you have to know of or have spent time seeing the most wretched people online bring them up.
These stereotypes often involve misconceptions about physical appearance, like assuming all transgender women have certain features. By addressing these stereotypes, we're working towards a more inclusive and respectful representation of transgender individuals in gaming and media. It's about creating an environment where everyone feels valued and represented, regardless of their gender identity or appearance.
Now I think you bring up a good point about respect for others, you have a good attitude towards being inclusive with your friends and I would do that too was I in your shoes. It is good manners to that individual and that is important towards living creatures. But I do not think we need to apply manners to a videogame, a digital being is unable to engage in that. If that distinction was not clear before, then let me state it now. It is only a problem when a digital art looks like transphobic caricatures, NOT when real people do.
Now I have been following this story unfold on twitter and on the ghoulery that has happened, its clear to me this skin has been used because it was an easy tool to use to get their hate across and that is also gave them "ammo" to cause their victims a new barrage. It is the fact that so many found it useful that is indicating a problem.
I hope this explains my thought process and I hope you don't think I'm trying to place a looks judgement on women anymore.

There's no point in coating the world in bubble wrap. Bigots are going to bigot, regardless. No transphobe was waiting for these skins to be released so they could belittle and harrass trans women online. They were already doing it.
You don't beat bigots by retreating so they have more space to spread their hatred. You come together with others to rally behind those are being mistreated, show the bigots just how heavily outnumbered they are, and then you crush them.
I believe it's important to consider whether our game design decisions inadvertently provide ammunition to transphobic individuals. While I don't believe bHVR intended for the cheerleader skins to perpetuate harmful stereotypes, it's crucial to acknowledge when a design crosses the line. I trust that bHVR wants what's best for their community, as they always have. It's essential to recognize when something comes too close to the line.
A constructive solution could involve issuing an apology, reaffirming commitment to inclusivity, offering refunds for the cheerleader skins, removing them from the game temporarily, and tasking the animation/art team with creating new, more inclusive versions. This approach may be costly, but it demonstrates a commitment to rectifying unintentional harm. I still believe that an Unknown cheerleader skin can be created, but it must be done in a way that avoids perpetuating harmful stereotypes.
I also agree wholeheartedly with the importance of our commitment to our community.

What are you talking about? I just said Twitter is a dumpster fire and you're lecturing me about how bullying is bad, actually. I know bullying is bad. How is that germane to my post?
I responded to both your posts. Its not directly a response to what you said.
Its about how when someone suggests "just ignore them" as a response to bullying, it's important to recognize that while ignoring hurtful comments may seem like a simple solution, it doesn't address the underlying emotional impact of bullying. Ignoring hurtful remarks can often lead to internalizing negative feelings, which can have detrimental effects on mental health over time. Encouraging open communication and seeking support from trusted individuals can provide a healthier outlet for processing emotions and finding constructive solutions. Additionally, fostering a culture where bullying is not tolerated and promoting assertive responses, such as setting boundaries and standing up for oneself, can empower individuals to address the issue while maintaining their well-being. By acknowledging the emotional toll of bullying and promoting more proactive approaches to addressing it, we can work towards creating a safer and more supportive environment for everyone involved.
Indeed bullying IS bad and bottling it up can be even worse.

Why are you on Twitter in the first place? It is nothing more than a school backyard 2.0 where bullies have the time of their life.
What those idiots claim does not matter in the slightest. The Devs themselves said that the Unknown is an unknown being without specific gender. Therefore is is not trans and therefore it cannot represent or mock trans people.
Some people are always #########, don't give them attention.
If think that those skins do anything bad, than those idiots already won as you give them what they want.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3674672#Comment_3674672
What's truly horrid is that people interact with Twitter or care about what is said on it. Shortform social media lends itself to the most sensational and incendiary takes in as few characters as possible. It's all just for attention. It's worthless as a communication medium.
In the face of bullying, it's essential to acknowledge the emotional impact it can have on individuals, recognizing that everyone has feelings and that it's normal to be affected by hurtful comments. The idea that "not caring" about what people say may not be an effective response is rooted in an understanding of the potential consequences of sustained exposure to bullying on mental health.
Instead of dismissing these emotions and encouraging isolation from the online world, its crucial to be fostering open communication, encouraging individuals to discuss their feelings with trusted friends, family, or support networks to gain emotional relief and potentially find constructive solutions. It's important to convey that setting boundaries and standing up against bullying is not about being overly reactive but rather asserting one's right to be treated respectfully and promoting a positive, inclusive environment for everyone.
By empowering individuals to respond assertively, seek support, and contribute to a culture where bullying is not tolerated, we can collectively work towards creating a healthier and more empathetic community. It wont happen tomorrow, but things are better these days than earlier.
So to return to the topic, it becomes a problem when bHVR's new Dead by Daylight Killer becomes the catalyst that causes bullying and its worth it for bHVR to consider what they enable. I'm not blind to seeing that everyone who responded to OP is basically saying they are wrong, but that's really up to bHVR anyway and I think we should encourage bHVR considering that.

How can you bully someone with the Unknown skins in a transphobe way?
Mori people with flag charms? That's old. People having stupid names? Old. And mixing the "male" head with the "female" body is not what I would call bullying.
And I say it again: THE UNKNOWN HAS NO GENDER AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE TRANS OR ANYING ELSE.
To be precise it is AGENDER.
So stop creating problems where none exist.
You can go look at what is taking place on Twitter, I'm not posting them here, the mods would delete me. Its mainly a combination of claiming the Unknown is trans representation, claiming that at or in earshot transwomen community members and claiming those community members ARE those cheerleader skins. Its frankly horrid and its a matter of time before they pull worse things off.
The problem isn't with the Lore, the lore is fine, the problem is those skins look like transphobic caricatures, which makes them ripe tools for transphobic bullying. A similar problem to 'that Bubba Mask', but a different marginalized group in our society
I understand that it might seem like these issues are being blown out of proportion, but it's crucial to recognize that the impact of certain content can vary for different individuals. Video games are a shared space where people from various backgrounds come together to have fun and enjoy a hobby.
When content in games perpetuates stereotypes or mocks certain groups, even by accident, it can inadvertently contribute to a negative environment for those players. It's not about creating problems where none exist but rather fostering an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone.
Consider that some players may face discrimination and stereotyping in their daily lives, and the gaming community can either be a supportive escape or an additional source of distress. By addressing these concerns, we can work towards creating a more positive and inclusive gaming culture that respects the diverse experiences of its players.
-
I share the concern regarding the cheerleader skins for the Unknown in Dead by Daylight. Ignoring the Lore, the appearance of these skins seems to resemble a transphobic caricature. While I understand the company's perspective on using the same model rig for both male and female skins, the cheerleader skins may unintentionally perpetuate harmful stereotypes. I've already witnessed instances where these skins were used for transphobic bullying. I appreciate the effort of the talented artists at bHVR, and I hope they can address this issue to ensure a positive and inclusive gaming experience.
I do not believe bHVR means any ill here, its just a skin walked too close to line, its worth it to recognize that, retract them and change them to look less like a caricature and more like an Unknown Alien taking host inside of a highschool cheerleader.

I like this Map as Killer, I find it to be balanced. But I hate how safe the main building is for the Survivors.
If you could put a stone stair-case at the front, so it would be easier to get up that would be great. Like right here:
-
What if I don't care about blood points?
What if I don't care about emblems?
-
Yes, Dead by Daylight is overdue for this change. Reducing the time to 10 seconds would not only prevent blocking but also alleviate the support staff from the burden of verifying and justifying those reports.
-
It should be reworked, Agreed.
-
Ill grant you my contributions were small, but its honestly the best question to ask in these discussions about what game we play here in dead by daylight. I have been on these forums a very long time and this discussion is the oldest of all chestnuts. That being what the Killer is allowed to do and what they should not be allowed to do.
So I usually just ask the question straight up, "Surely the Killer should be killing?" But that is mostly because I am from a class of Killer who don't carry rules, that might sound unfun, but all it asks Survivors is don't give me the opportunity to cause I will.
For the future I really do want bHVR to develop a feature that makes it easier for Survivors to fight against tunneling rather than restrict Killers.

I would agree but there are 5 people in this equation. The killer can ruin a match too.
My suggestion would be that you can earn a penalty free dc if you are getting hardcore tunneled or slugged forever. There is no need for the player being present if he is on death hook and the killer is greedy enough to slug them for 3 minutes plus to find the last survivor.
The killer can ruin a match too.
I wonder if that is because the KILLER is supposed to KILL the SURVIVORS. So yes, Survivors must be ruined.
-
If you mean the disconnect timer? so people cant just quit a match over any simple thing going wrong multiple times.
if bHVR didnt, the problem would be way worse. Check any time bHVR removed the penalty, people do WAY MORE.
-
But @Alen_Starkly that is what Rookie Spirit does and even better.
I think what bHVR needs to do is take all these beginner friendly Generator helper perks and then use Deja vu as the minimum standard and then buff them accordingly-
- Technician
- Poised
- Red Herring
- Repressed Alliance
- Visionary
- Fast Track
- Counterforce
- Rookie Spirit
- Corrective Action
- Inner focus
- Fog Wise
- Friendly competition
- Trouble shooter
- Deadline
It feels like bHVR's plan is to make good perks for beginner players, but advanced players dont use them so they would not inspire beginners to use them either. I think instead of developing character perks for survivors as, one competitive, one wild card and one beginner. they should do one competitive, one wild card and one solid foundation perk.
Solid foundation perks for Survivors are, Deja Vu, BOND (god yes), Windows of Opportunity, very good at enabling play at all skill levels.
-
On the contrary there are many times I have not tunneled due to getting a shared bonus.
-
I would develop an process for evolving the game, using stats and player feedback to steer the course of the game. Keeping skepticism and critical thinking as my right and left hand.

That could be correct, except the logical conclusion is that those games were not supposed to be normal games according to the new rules and thus, yes The Killer can lose a game if they focus on stalling more than killing. If you wanna convince me that the system is excessively unfair, you have to show me that. But you cant convince me of the normalcy of your games by say alone, that part would be on bHVR's table anyway.

Completely unrelated topic. We are talking about how matches that are NOT killers just camping a 3 gen all match refusing to advance the objective and in turn creating very long matches are absolutely being affected by this mechanic which BHVR said would not happen. It clearly is, and it needs to be looked into.
Its not unrelated, you are saying your use of Surge is making you smash into the regression event limit.
-
@RpTheHotrod said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3668421#Comment_3668421
This is happening fairly often with simply using surge alone as a regression perk. It's even worst with something like eruption. That's not a build, that's a single perk in an already limited amount of available regression perks. This isn't people stacking 4 regression perks, as my video clearly shows. Heck. The silent hill map video shows one locking up entirely due to kicks since survivors were focusing that gen constantly. That's not a killer created problem, that's the survivors creating the problem and forcing it on the killer. "Well, don't kick the gen!" isn't a valid response to that issue. You can't ask the killer yo go sit afk in a corner and let gens get worked on.
So you wanna nerf or buff Surge?
-
No, please. Im just getting into using the perk again.

the update specifically says excessively long matches
If I am able to trigger that feature easily on 4 gens left, then that's not excessively long match.
you 'strong HAVE' to change your perks and strategy. it just means you are now affected by the new system
It's weird to say affected instead of punished...
Just saying I don't want to see crying about killers using pop/pain res. This feature is direct reason for this, when most alternatives are just trash, because of it.
