The best early game is had if the Killer has Lethal Pursuer.
-
Ofc it seems weird to us, but that is because we dont have stats to show how things turn out and what is needed.
You and I may love a weird little strategy that works for us,
but if its turns out to be a problem for the balance of the game or is unfair, it gotta change, like what else do you expect to happen? -
His attack is not projectiles, and must be treated as an on going effect in the effected area.
-
if you hit the survivor on the hook, they do a less annoying scream.
But the hooked player may be insulted by this, but its their honor vs my ears. -
I already never dodged a match, so nothing has changed for me.

should make it a option to hide prestiges a lot of people worked hard to prestige their favorite character and want the accomplishment to be shown .
It will be shown in the post game screen.

I noticed this while looking over the Video, the quality is bad. But it shows clearly the frame "transform" is pressed there are multiple options available on the same frame, but the next frame "charge pounce" gets removed. So there is clearly a delay, but I dont know if that is what causes it.
Still trying to figure it out myself.
-
I prefer Knight as he is.
-
Could be a good idea for that flamethrower killer I always wanted.
-
I have always had the opinion that the tutorial like the ones they have done are useless in the long run. You cannot teach everything well in a scripted event sandbox, if you wanna teach someone something someone who has full knowledge needs to stepup and talk to you like a real human being. I always found the first videos on how to play Survivor that bvhr made to be incredibly more useful in understanding Survivor than the tutorial.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gtu153S5y6oDoing updated versions of these videos and implement them as so you have to watch them to complete the tutorial would help more in my opinion. Like honestly, I dont watch youtube and tiktok so much. Mostly because it gets mixed in with clickbait and bad advice, so I dont want to see it.
To sum my point up, I think dbd has been suffering from relying too much on player discovery or "show, don't tell" in regards to teaching players how to play. They could have provided solid advice and made the process easier for us as players, but instead we have been provided vague ideas and questionable advice.
-
Could be the Anticheat Software, it needs to load before DbD wants to start. Does it load before dbd fails to start? This screen:
If this does not appear, your install of the anti cheat could be bad for some reason, and you need to remove it and reinstall it.
On their website they say:"You can also install the service manually.
To do so navigate to the "EasyAntiCheat" folder inside of the game's installation folder and locate "EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe".Launch it as administrator and choose 'Install'."Should be easy to do. Give it a try if think the AntiCheat software is to blame.
-
Most likely.
-
The map has indeed changed.
-
Do you remember what map this was, there could be totem spots that broken. If you figure it out, you can make a Bug Report.

I'm not sure, I do hear the charge up sound myself even if it isn't that pronounced I can tell 99/100 times when it happens, roughly.
It could also be intentional due to how it's half as reliable as Pyramid Head's M2? But if it was, why would hearing it consistently be so different among everyone?
It could also be intentional due to how it's half as reliable as Pyramid Head's M2?
Honestly I have hit more hits with Hellfire in the past 4 days, than I have ever hit with Pyramid Head's M2.
Its probably so much better and easier to use than anything else I ever used in this game, so I dont see how you get to "half as reliable" idd say hellfire is 10 times better than PH, but this is a weird tangent. -
@ChaosWam said:
I can hear it alright.
I've also seen this being said a few times though, so maybe the charge sound is bugged sometimes?
That could also be the case,
my problem is it just isnt as clear a Huntress Charge Up, or Wesker Bounding Up or Pyramid Head crushing floor. Before their attack. -
That is usually an untrusted file detection by Unreal, it must be corrupt or missing a part.
Scan your Windows for errors by running the command of sfc /scannow in cmd.exe as an administrator user.
and hope it finds the file. If not then you need to find another solution, unsure what could be done currently, if not then a full windows re-install should make sure its right. -
There are a few problems in this, First is that bHVR want to keep things simple and have clumped together an ingame playstyle mechanic and an ingame griefing prevention mechanic and well also a Killer Power, but this isnt about you Legion. So what does this mean, it means its hella hard for them to balance those things when we have painpoints with them because its confusing to players if they did.
So, yes the basekit-unhook-endurance being used to save a hit is certainly annoying, even when the Killer isnt trying to tunnel, the basekit-unhook-endurance still makes you miss out. So to fix this, bHVR would have to rename the endurance you get in the basekit-unhook-endurance situation and then simply remove the changes the rules of the effect so it cant be used to grief the Killer when hes not trying to tunnel. An example would be, you can keep the endurance effect as normal for the first 3 seconds, but if you use the effect to take a protection hit for your team-mate its effect is instantly removed and you go down for taking a hit.
We then have to rename this effect and mechanic, I think calling it 'Unhook Grace' is probably the best idea. This would be very fair to Killers who dont tunnel and remove the paintpoints that I usually have with them system.

I dont think you know the meaning or proper application of "whataboutism"
Oh I do and it would be comparing apples to oranges anyway, causeeach Killer is evaluated on their own merits anyway, not others.

No. I think it’s much more likely that the MMR formula is doing something controversial, and players would figure it out if they knew their MMR numbers.
Also, it would cause streamer drama, as it would prove that some of the streamers are keeping their MMR low, so they look better in the games they stream.
I think it’s much more likely that the MMR formula is doing something controversial
How did you determine that is more likely?
-
This?
I guess, but I like her in Castlevania Judgement more.
They could use her Ultimate Finisher as a Mori
But I suppose the Netflix adaptation is cool too.
Which is your favorite?
-
I agree, we play this game to enjoy ourselves, not to be advertised to and we already paid the price you asked for the game.

With making it optional it wouldn't solve the issue of lobby dodging - by both survivors and killers, which greatly affects matchmaking, that's why it is something that has to be across the board I'm afraid.
Not to demand info, but could you possibly go into how big a problem "greatly affects matchmaking" is.
I knew you have tested it in lobbies for a while, so like how much how many % chance of creating a dodged lobby does P100 do?
Assuming its a lot since bHVR has made the decision it MUST have been substantial. Please I hope you can be allowed to divulge some juicy numbers.

Regardless of wether it wasn't supposed to or it was, now it is clear that the incentive for it is near 0. Just give the option to people with different mindsets to CHOOSE.
Why=? There are millions of things you could do in this game, which has no incentive either.
Why should we ask bHVR to start giving incentives to any meaningless number you can make go up? -
There were never supposed to be an incentive, its 100% optional.
Do it if you wanna brag about a badge. Maybe there will be an epic cosmetic one day. -
Its too late to say now, it could be the best way to play him has not been found yet.
Im more into Bat/Hellfire than wolf still, Wolf just feels slow and weak expect in specific circumstances. -

You mean like how skull merchant can just put a drone down on a loop and shut it down?
Or how trapper can just place a trap? Or hag?
Or how Freddy can put down a snare?
Or how clown can just throw a bottle on the ground?

Is it fair when the Nurse can go through a pallet and hit you? Is it fair when Pyramidhead can attack through the obstacles? Even before the rework, switching from the Knight to the Pyramidhead I felt more relaxed, because it's just more easy to play and attack through the palets and windows then drawing patrol paths, planning, taking brief decisions how and where to draw and drop. But after the rework with all these nerfs… you got the point.
Whataboutism is not the way to determine balance for a Killer and just because some Killers have annoying attack which is seen as unfair does not mean they all should have it or that anything goes for Killer attacks. If you have an argument why Knight should be able to do those attacks, make it.
-
Well Demo and Doctor have a big sound effect when they are about to do their attack, when you hear is just change direction.
Xeno is shut down by placing an unrelenting number of turrets and looping them into it.
-
All you have to do is sweat in every match and you will get into top MMR which is the same thing.

Maps are way too big and this destroys so many killers like deathslinger that have poor map control, its just terrible
Sounds like a problem with Deathslinger and not maps. I stopped playing him because hes just too demanding and slow.
-
I think people have been told but just forget it cause its a videogame and its not relevant to anything in their every day lives.
Some people just dont remember info that isn't relevant to their lives. What do you propose? If bHVR gave me a popup in the Menu, I would just get pissed at them.

Maps which need this:
Ormond - give it a snowstorm
Eyrie of Crows - give it a sandstorm
Crotus Prenn - a foggy thunderstorm would look great
Not specifically that, lets be clear just map variations.
a Ormond variation with a Snowstorm.
a Eyrie of Crows variation with a sandstorm
etc
Giving ALL Ormond maps snowstorm would be a disaster cause not everybody wants to deal with limited vision.
-
I think its better to just have certain maps with said weather effect instead of having an item that changes weather.
Thats much easier for the Map Team to manage. But I would enjoy an Ormond variation where the snowstorm is so thick its basicly like playing Lights Out.
One map variation with 1 special weather, I think its okay. -
Because there has been a great uproar about Nemesis lately and it HAS been a very long time Nemesis has been looked at.
bHVR is listening and trying stuff even if it might not be the changes we all want.

He has spoken about 'The Knight' as an example.
good catch
-
What Killer do you have trouble with? and how?
-
The problem is there is demonstrable evidence that Killers dodge lobbys that contain high prestige players.
Its also been demonstrated that players who have prestige gets targeted more.
Leaving it Optional could leave the problem as it is and then its not really a solution then is it?
Dodge'ed Lobbys increases the wait time for all of us. -
This discussion has already been had, its incredibly cheap and unfair when the knight drops the guard right next to the loop.
What new arguments are there in this discussion? -

Yes, but many maps get nerfed, because of weaker killers while the stronger ones don‘t need it easilier. That is why I asked it. This could balance it a bit out, don‘t you think?
I should have maybe written weak killers in the title, but I thought m1 killers means the same for many.
Should we not then encourage the buffing of Killers with weak powers, instead of encouraging bHVR to redo loop balance by changing default killer speed?
-
Consider that all the maps and for 7 years bHVR has balanced loops around 4,6m/s with a few exceptions in powers and perks.
Why should we make exceptions the norm? -

Others have beat me to it, but it's intended for direct hits to be insignificant for The Unknown and this is not something that we're looking to change at this time. This was done to a) encourage use of the blast zone & ricochet effects, and b) to differentiate this power from other ranged Killers.
If you're after meaty direct hits, a Killer like The Huntress or The Deathslinger may be more up your alley. It's not the intention for The Unknown, however.
This is the scenario, where I think bHVR should use this opportunity to create more options for Killers. Ill explain it.
Ultra-rare Addons have often been considered as really good addons, but also addons that change the playstyle of the Killer.
Now consider that we have a player here which wishes to play in a unorthodox way, Surely that means you could make a specific Ultrarare addon that enables that, in addition to the two already existing addons.
The Player is asking for you to enable some unintended Skill Expression for this Killer, Surely your Game Designers wanna see it.
+ We often get people in here saying the game is too easy, I think you can give them a challenge here. -
because it would look weird if she had army boots.

Don't take the bait. OP is just trying to waste your time.
The response isnt only for OP, there is a point to be made, even if its trolling.
But I appreciate your concern either way. -
Horror Community has a long history of being pro LGBT.
LGBT are actively being disregarded, disowned, discriminated, they need our support.
bHVR is also a very inclusive developer and they try their best.I also like how the most popular content creators on this game tell advice on how to balance the game to the Dev yet they only listen to Twitch Killer cry babies.
Most popular content creators do not know how to balance a game for others than themselves, Sure they have many fans, most would be yes-men, Good Game Design comes from careful examination, consideration and knowledge of all types of players.
I have played this game for over 5000 hours, but that does not make my ideas good.
What does make me ideas good are well reasoned arguments for those ideas.Example: I thought that "Skills" idea bHVR had for 2v8 was superbad, but actually it makes things so simple and I grew to love it.

My counter to this would be that a pallet can only be rebuild 1 time regardless of which survivor did it
But some pallets are not equal, some pallets can drag on for many minutes due to a loop.
How fast can Survivors rebuild pallets? -
Lets say 4 survivors bring in this perk, what kind of draw back would not make this perk overpowered?
4 pallets coming back on a cooldown would be pretty powerful.
-
Weekends, usually means that the sweaty people come online.
-
Are all the drivers of all the components up to date? The manufacturer should have website with it.
-
This is where I wish bHVR would allow all Killers to be played vs bots for free in custom games so people could try them out.
-
Well bHVR certainly have the feedback about does Offerings, I also think its rather uninspired to turn those addons into even more bloodpoint related offerings. But they are still working on it and will release a PTB with it again at some point this or early next year.
