Maybe not for this year, maybe the next? Mostly just a back burner idea.
Idd like to see 2v8 Darkness Mode, just once.
-
These just seem like the basics.
Here is a better question to ask, How do you determine if an unintended consequence of design is a bug or intentional.
Say Dracula for instance, his flame can sometimes hit you twice causing instantdown. Killswitch or not? -
@gerolau said:
i dont own thalita, do you have a video of this? preferably in the highest quality possible? for bug reporting reasons, of course.
Respectfully bug reporting.
-
I just want to see yellow bottle speed buff reverted and see how clown works from that.
I rather not want BHVR to start a whole new rework when the numbers can be tinkered with. -
Listen.. Do you want to sell cosmetics or do you want to go bed hungry?
-
I dont think you know how long it would take to make, just saying.
-
I think the reason we see this slip in bugs is because BHVR is busy with Phase 2, you know the Initiative anyone remember?
We are looking at Anti-slugging, Anti-tunneling- anti-camping AND an MMR update in the coming month.
And content delay is set for Spring next year, you know we only get three next Killers this year, right?Honestly with whats coming I think its gonna be bug on bug on bug until next spring.

So you are blaming the perk of not getting value when you most likely did not really try to get value out of it as it needs thinking of what gen to place it on for example.
You also intentionally are playing with random perks so you will sometimes gets perks you don't get much or any value or even perks that will not work with your killer power at all. That is totally part of perks being random you will not always get what you want or something that is useful. In the end its your choice to use what you want but you disliking a perk is not any qualification of the perk being bad. Machine Learning is good perk and can be devastating when used correctly.
WRONG! I do my best to hit the gen they are doing, but it rarely works.
@SoGo said:
The issue is that the perk has to be difficult to apply, because the benefit is so good (at least for Mashine Learning)
The best way to get it is probably going to an almost done gen, kick it, and let it work. Odds are, either the survivors will give you the effect or let it regress to zero instead of giving you your way, which is value too.
Idd rather take consistent value over longer buffs.
-
My team-mate she never brings an item.

It sets a dangerous precedent, because it teaches the community if they keep yelling and screaming BHVR will capitulate.
Killswitches should only be used if something is a demonstrable problem, BHVR was calmly observing if their stats would prove Survivors would be getting any advantage from this. But the community would not have any of that, they felt hurt that someone might could have gotten an advantage and they would not stand for that.
What this means is, that every time in the future if something is bugged even if it is benign the whole feature must be Killswitched because of the ghosts of advantage is plaguing the minds of the users, which means every feature is probably deadlocked at release.
Though I dont hope BHVR will meaningfully change the Killswitch Process to cater to unproven advantages, that would be absurd and destroy the game instantly. All major Killers have a bug or two that could give an advantage in some situations, like Dracula its possible for a Survivor to get hit twice by the fire attack if the connection is bad. It happens very rarely, but nono killswitch it now.
What I do hope they do is that they allow their community managers to be more clear about the specific Killrates/ Winrates and Pickrates on a given problem, it would be great for me, because I respond well to stats. Other people might not, people might still be frustrated about problems that isn't happening. Which is somehow desperately close to real life politics.
The message to BHVR should be clear, tell us clearly if a bugged perk is performing too well on diffrent mmr levels, as that should be a clear indication that it should be killswitched.
-
Items are fine as they are imo, Addons just need a rework, to make them more interesting.
-
We desperately need an equippable mori system, but now that BHVR has made it possible for Survivors to quit a match the second everyone is downed, means that the majority would never see them cause they quit before the game ends.

Hello folks,
We have followed your conversations very closely about the state of the game of late, and we agree it’s not in the place we all would like it to be. Recent releases, including our most recent, have introduced frustrating new issues which have distracted from your enjoyment of DbD. We wanted to acknowledge this and let you in on the steps we'll be taking to resolve these issues in the short and long term.
Next Steps
- Along with posting this message, we are Kill Switching the following Perks which currently have issues:
- Streetwise
- Blood Rush
- Last Stand
- Tomorrow (August 6) we are releasing a hotfix to address a number of issues (see here for the patch notes) introduced recently.
- This hotfix will address the issues related to Streetwise and Last Stand, but we agree we should not wait any longer to activate the Kill Switch on them and are doing so now.
- We will also make small adjustments to Fog Vials, decreasing base fog opacity and the volume of ambient fog audio.
- Another hotfix is underway, scheduled to follow next week.
- Among others, this hotfix will address the Blood Rush issues you are currently experiencing in the game.
- Fog Vials will also be adjusted to add a limit to their uses in a Trial, moving away unlimited uses.
Processes Overhaul
As a result of your feedback and internal discussions on the same topic, we will immediately be rebuilding our internal Kill Switch process to be more nimble and better account for community sentiment. We understand you have an expectation of this tool that doesn’t match how we have been using it and wish to improve this.
Once we've settled on a new process, we will clearly communicate the criteria to trigger a Kill Switch to make sure your expectations are better in line with our actions.
Finally, we wanted to address the comments made by the team about the Kill Switch and Streetwise. We apologize for how these comments dismissed your feelings about the importance of quickly addressing Streetwise and further fanned the flames of an already tense topic.
We're grateful for your feedback, which helps us identify places where we can improve and re-evaluate our processes, changing course when it's needed to improve the Dead by Daylight experience for all. As a live game, we know this conversation is ongoing, and we appreciate you for being a part of it with us!
I dont think the problem was that the moderator in question downplayed people's experience, its that people have not been showing the problem to be be a significant advantage. I understand it doesnt matter if the perk did or did not have the advantage if the majority of players think a perk should be killswitched then they will force you to do it, not by showing the perk to be exploited for advantage but by shear public outcry.
I hope next time there is a problem that people will spend more time demonstrating that the perk is giving significant advantage instead of complaining on the forums. In my personal experience its been ineffective. So I hope these killswitches have been done for good reason and not just because of the outcry.
Anyway, if you are going away from Fog Vials being infinite I think then you should hold back on nerfing them too much.
Since they have to compete with other items for usefulness still. - Along with posting this message, we are Kill Switching the following Perks which currently have issues:
-
nationalism was the biggest mistake in human progress development, please dont add it to dbd.
I get that a lot of people feel proud of where they're from, and there's nothing wrong with that. But sometimes, when national pride shows up, it can lead to arguments or the enforcement of others being left out. Since Dead by Daylight has such a diverse player base, it might be better to focus on things that bring everyone together, rather than something that divide people.

What buffs do you want for the Unknown?
I would love if the UVX looking Linger on Survivors were just a lil smaller.

I'm not saying he should be nerfed or buffed, but my experience is very 0 or 100 with him. Either I'm decimating against players who shouldn't be at my mmr, or getting destroyed, which happens a lot in this game, it's really obvious in the case of Unknown. I don't have a suggestion to fix this, because if you make the killer more complicated, we have more of the same problem where bad/new players have no clue how to fight him.
It does not matter, his ranged attacks are very easy to dodge it seems.
-
My recent Killer gameplay has been Unknown, Springtrap and a lil bit of Wesker.
Started playing Unknown when the new Community Cosmetic was announced, I want Detective Outfit.
Hes very fun and challenging to play, which isnt usually my cup of tea, but I really like Unknown, my twisty friend.Springtrap obviously because he came out and his gameplay is just excellent tho I stopped playing him cause Killer queues were astronomical during the recent event.
Wesker is an all time classic, who dosent like to go zoom, pick up a Mikaela and throw her at a wall lol.
-
And honestly having 3000 people sitting around and lawyering this up is not in BHVR's interest, its most likely a simple meeting decision and not a exact set of rules. I know you guys are like supermad that you might lose a game of dead by daylight, to a Survivor who may have gotten more than what the rules said they should get, but like if the bug does not provide a significant statistical advantage it will remain.
Trust me, you will survive this and once more people use it, more data will be collected and boom maybe a significant advantage can be determined and boom BHVR will decide to Killswitch it.
Please if it is so broken and OP use it so it can be proven and demonstrated.

I said that having an option to not play against certain killers would be a bad idea… did you read my post? I think there should be some setting to help with things like this though, because I cannot play against clown because the Nausea I get from his purple bottles is nearly rehabilitating, I do not wish for players to choose what killers they play against, that's a bad idea, I just want to be able to avoid nearly vomiting because my killer decided to play clown today.
I did read it, I am just acknowledging that its a bad idea. I'm agreeing with you.
-
Such a feature would absolutely wreck match making as up to 4 Killers would be be banned from every Survivor Queue, or
Survivors would be unable to be assigned to a Killer Queue. You may personally accept longer match-making but I assure you there are others that don't, even so Survivors would just use it to get out of facing any Killer they just don't like.Better idea would be an accessibility setting that changes the Clown's Power to Bubbles and the effect to a general color opacity effect overlay.
-
Its probably: Can be shown to provide a significant advantage in regular games.
Given how Killers are perfectly able to Kill Survivors even with items, it probably isn't been shown yet to be as busted as we think. You know that when we express something is busted, BHVR does their due diligence and checks it.
-
I agree, it does not add anything new, even if that realm needed a shack only map.
I much rather like the idea: that those tiles would be enabled and have a high chance of spawning if you played an Walking Dead Characters and spawn in diffrent maps.
-
Ive actually been enjoying Killer, been playing alot of Unknown.
-
An Oni Legendary, where when they go into Rage mode, some voice screams "Mortal Kombat" and his terror radius in rage mode switches to a version of that original Mortal Kombat theme.
https://youtu.be/BxsNnUAyfd4?feature=shared&t=171That would be epic.
-
I think you underestimate how much game time remote hooking saves the Killer.
But remote hooking for the rest of the game if they hook all 4 Survivors is a pretty good trade.
-
Yup, I barely ever use the search command cause its targeting is wacky. BHVR knows this is a problem, but they are sleeping on this issue cause they been busy with stuff all Summer. You know I usually dont mind most bugs, but the ones that frankly lock me out of my power as I struggle to aim on a gen. BOY DO I HATE THAT.
Please assign an engineer BHVR, fix her up please.
-
Honestly I find it super weird that it has infinite charges, it goes against the idea of using scarce resrouces, but the reason likely is that the fogvial is very likely to not work so it kinda HAS to be used many times. Still I think people rarely get to use it more than 4 times a match.
-
I think Ghoul was already on BHVR's radar, they were not gonna let a unpopular killer last forever.

Or maybe a character that isn't played as much might get a skin that looks really cool, thus incentivizing people to play that character more, or even buying it if they don't have it!
Sure, but what skin would do that?
-
Yeah, playing this game on low settings is really awful and makes me not want to buy those skins.
a fix for this would be great.
-
PTB is to catch majorbugs so the development on their fix can start. hopefully fix them before release.
-
Idk why you guys think its weird or odd that the most popular characters get the most skins.
Seems 100% intuitive to me.

@ThatRyanB said:
Glad y'all like it! It never hurts to give newer players some more signposting to help guide them through their early games 😀
Its a good start, but you guys really need like a little video corner in the tutorial section. To watch some guides.
I hope you guys have more steps planned.
-
Can we get like 6 seconds to actually try the content out first`?
-
Idd like a Command that works like the Knight's Guard, a long chase command.
But the protect area command seems cool too.
-
I doubt it, cause it was a nod to veterans who earned it by playing to P3 back then.
-
We used to be a Game that cared, we are a hollow husk of our former selves here. :c
-
add a stacking buff for each different survivor hooked in a row (i.e anyone other than the person you just hooked). I think a cooldown reduction for successful attacks would be a good pick, as it would allow the killer to end chases quicker and quicker as the match goes on, in exchange for the initial advantage that tunneling someone out would've given. But even just something like Fire Up's action speed bonus would give some immediate advantage for successfully hooking someone.
that would be pretty unfair for a individual survivor, imagine if your team sucks and then the Killer comes for you with reduced cooldown. The balance would then be even more in the Killers favor than normal gameplay.
this is why i think its way better to reduce the Killer's cooldown, if he tunnels.

We just had issue where survivors were getting wrongfully banned and you want to do exactly same thing with killers?
That simply could never end well.
Also suddenly survivors giving up, could very easily trigger this system, so this would be another reason for survivors to give up in their games, which we want to avoid. That system is going to get some changes and it will come back.
Same thing with this system, try fail and try again.

If we're going to punish killers for more optimal objective gameplay then we're going to punish survivors for optimal objective gameplay right? Right?
I think the majority of players would rather make tunneling be highly discouraged but not impossible, however serial tunneling should be downright impossible and then Killers be buffed as needed eventually.

I'd love to see a fox/kitsune killer
In a weird way I think the Ghoul is a Kitsune, you ever notice how they look running. 100% inspired.

Here is my own take:
Tunneling Penalty/ Fatigue System for Killers
This a in-game mechanic that discourages killers from immediately downing and rehooking the same survivor right after they’ve been unhooked. Instead of preventing tunneling outright in any game, which would remove killer agency, it adds temporary penalties (fatigue) when the system detects that a killer is serial tunneling.
It isn't about just one tunnel because its the best solution right now, its if you tunnel again and again.
It should be easily detectable in large quantities.Once we got that, slowdown and other effects can be added to make it much harder to continue. ala Orange Glyph.
I think this is a flexible system that does not punish any tunneling, but will hit the serial tunneler Killers the hardest.

The case has been made so many times by so many people who play this Killer, do I really need to dredge up every single thread asking for it, some of which have been buried in the PTB forums we can't access anymore?
Yes.

Not sure why this got downvoted and shoved to the bottom of the queue.
This is something that many Ghostface players and even some Ghostface Mains have been asking for. Just give us it please.
If there's any good reason anyone can give for why we don't have this or we shouldn't have this, please just engage with the thread instead of downvoting so the Devs cannot see it. That's not engaging discussion.
My guy, its not us who needs to make a case why Ghostface should not have haste during nightshroud.
its you who needs to make that case, if you are getting downvotes its because you didnt make a convincing case and people still disagree. Ask yourself, well if I am a person who currently believes GF is fairly balanced, how can I convince them? -

I have all chapters, so I have no idea how free character weeks really works :D
If you think it's good enough for new players, then sure. I just remember I asked for such "Demo system" in past.XDDDDD neither do I
I also unlock new content with Credit Card on day 1. At this point idd buy a rock if it had perks in dbd.

Yeah, but forced so it can be only bots.
I expect they would want something simply so you can test a killer before buying. I think that would be good idea, but doubt BHVR would ever do something like this.not with that attitude. The Free Character weeks are pretty good, its a good system they have.
-
you mean, a custom match vs bots?
-
So playing the Event is leaving me, at a 22% winrate, which means MMR is inactive for the event.
Why dont we have MMR to insure a quality match in the event? Idd like to win. -
@AbsolutGrndZer0 said:
This is as close as we will ever get for one simple reason. With the existence of SWF (even if not every match is a SWF) it's extremely easy for at least one if not all of the survivors to know exactly what the others are doing and the killer would be known immediately to be the killer and not actually Meg.
A lesson in Marketing Department not listening to the Game Designers properly.
-
The problem is it cant be a proper tutorial cause the game is updated every 3 months.
The tutorial we have costs way too much to maintain and does not give good enough education on the issues.
An ingame world minigame is just not feasible in the long term.I suggest video lessons; made by the the actual game designers, pointing out how a user is managing playing the game.
Why because having someone who knows whats going on telling you and why one should do what is much better than trying to do a session of self-discovery which may or may not have the results we are looking for.The problem is, all tutorial that BHVR has done are done as an immersive experience themselves, the narrator is speaking in highly poetic language, there is blaring music and the content is too basic to matter at higher levels of play, we need better video lessons. Desperately and one on playing and playing against each Killer.
I think the real problem is that BHVR realizes the game is too big for proper tutorials to be feasible so its easier to ignore this problem or let youtubers fix it.
