so many basegame perks are pointless and useless, which sort of forces players to either grind for the lottery that is the shrine or skimp money on a DLC they'll never use except to unlock the perks they need to be successful

We all know how killer games go. Find your first survivor, he runs in circles for 3 minutes, all the gens get done and they escape with Adrenaline/BT/DS/DH. This has become so bad that there are only 2 killers (Sally and Rin) that can consistently perform well in Red Ranks if they want to double pip and retain their Rank 1. Even worse - Rin was broken last update so unless you were Nurse your pip was a heavily weighted coin toss. Some killers such as Caleb and Triangle Daddy can sometimes beat a strong Red Rank SWF, but can't compete if they use the Genrush Strategy.
This is why I think the game should try and cut down on this stupid running in circles strategy to win every game without thinking. Instead, we should focus on the Stealth aspect of the game. I think most survivors (who aren't pathetic bullies) can agree that the suspense of a killer almost finding you in a hiding spot is far more thrilling than running around a pallet 10 times rinse repeat. The fact that there are 10+ pallets which can each last from 30 seconds to a few minutes (Bloodlust takes way too long to kick in) pushes the "chase killer only" meta that has plagued so many players into only playing Rin Sally and sometimes Caleb.
We want to play Amanda and sneak up on survivors.
We want to play Anna and line up a sweet hatchet on a Zarina who didn't quite hide well enough.
We want to play Lisa and scare survivors with our Phantasms.
But we can't - because the meta right now is looping, and any killer that doesn't excel there isn't viable.
honestly, looping is one of the only ways to play. There aren't many stealth perks and every perk outside of the meta is gimmicky or situational. It comes down to a lack of variety in gameplay styles that leads everyone towards the only truly successful way to play; franticly running in a circle

I'd say the plushie or actual item ones are cool, i'm excited to get Rosie in this rift, but the amount of playtime behind it is peculiar. However i'd say it's a way to incentivize players to return. A psychological play on the need to complete things by some or be "exclusive". Hence why you have players complaining about the company offering exclusive skins for money now.
The charms that are actual things are good and fit with the stories of characters, I'm more talking about the ######### ones that are nothing but pictures in circles that no one ever uses

I absolutely despise legion's power in every sense of the word.
Their backstory? unique and fine
Their cosmetics and the idea of being four separate characters in one? unique and good for marketing
Their power? a travesty.
Legion completely counters stealth with his power, he can waste the time of every with both mending and thanatophobia.
and from my experience, most legion mains act like they won the super bowl when they kill everyone, shoving it in the survivors faces and acting like legion is the best killer in the game.
it's really sad, and a rework should be in order.

freddy is obnoxious to play against due to the constant sleep timers and slow down addons, he's the only killer that can slow down the game to a slog without technically utilizing his power.
yet the worst possible thing that could happen to him is his rework being reversed, bringing him back to the old version.
I'd take the current slow-everything-to-a-slog freddy over the can't-do-anything-if-survivors-aren't-asleep freddy any day

there's nothing wrong with ghostface, say for the way his power is used by killers, topping off their stalk meters and having immunity to stealth breaks when hiding behind small objects and corn is obnoxious, and the survivor has to physically look at him, rather than the camera.
Ghostface is fine, his power is unique if not unoriginal, and he's got a good variety of cosmetics.
However the way he is typically played leaves a sour taste in survivor's mouths when his power can be exploited.
T-bag Ghostfaces, however, are the greatest killer besides Demogorgon mains

I think a lot of it comes that many people don't play both sides of the game, so they don't fully understand the frustration that the other side feels about the game. Also, there is skill involved in this game and I do hope that the MMR system will help to level out that playing field a bit, then maybe there'll be less disatisfaction with individual matches.
Also, I think human nature does tend to lead to us all having a bit of a moan at times and focusing on the negative more than the positive, however positive we try to be as individuals, the negativity can creep in at times.
Just my opinion though.
When I made this post, I wasn't only referring to the balances and gameplay side of the spectrum, but the community aspect too. Many decisions are made that the community dislikes overall, and when that happens, people get angry.
Take the most recent Halloween event, it did not go over well with many due to the changes to it (removal of Putrid Serum currency, for example). People want to see the game flourish, but without clear community input the developers won't know what and what not to change, and how, to keep everyone happy, leading to a guessing game where not much can realistically be accomplished without hefty backlash.

a huntress add-on that makes it so that if she opens a locker and a survivors inside of it, she ignores the survivor and goes for the hatchets instead
-
personally I feel nothing when I get no kills
with the exception of t-bagging pallet looping flashlight clicking ormand offering swf groups who say gg ez when they all escape
in that case I put a :( in the chat and bring a mori the next time I see a key to make myself feel better

I don't think it's that hook placement specifically, I think it's because it's an event hook. For some reason the event hooks cannot be sabotaged.

If it's perks you're looking for, bring calm spirit or distortion.
If it's strategies, try to avoid being around him, his electric blasts allow him to easily locate survivors, but they have a limited range. His shockwave is harder to avoid, so you might just need to tank the shock
TLDR; don't hang around him

I would delete object of obsession and decisive strike, then I'd think of a way of rewarding killers for keeping survivors alive as long as possible so there would be more incentives to play "fair" playstyle.
like gaining points for "fear" events, like scaring survivors off of gens or gaining points when a survivor misses you with a pallet

New gamemodes, the gameplay loop in DBD gets rather stale after a while, new gamemodes would probably spice up the gameplay and give it more replayability overall.
It would also help to add better tutorials or revamp the current ones, because the current ones are rather bare-boned and doesn't teach much except for some basic mechanics.
