keeping the mystery of the mori?
is it a ebony cringe guy?
Or a chad cypress mori?
I'd agree that this would be a good reason - To keep it a surprise. Just there's literally no other offerings that are surprises for killer outside of the Shroud ones off the top of my head. It's just safer to assume it's a mori.
Offerings just need a rework to be honest and both sides need better variety. To be honest all offerings should be hidden unless they're bloodpoint offerings or if any of them interact with each other. Sacrificial ward and a map offering being in the same pool for example.

I don't think it's only EMPs.
For me, it's very uncomfortable pod placing, and pretty strong map dependance, that driving me away from playing this killer for more than 1-2 matches.
This killer is very exhausting to play as.
I agree with this - The EMP's would be tolerable if the pods would just ######### go where I shoot them. The main annoyance for me is if your pod crosshair is slightly touching a window you can't fire. That alone is a load of bullshit.
But yes - Camera management and juggling POV's constantly switching between killer and several cameras is mentally draining to play this killer.

We asked for more communication and they are doing it lately.
We all hated "soon" word and now they started give us dates for 6 months period changes.
They are making Q&A events and giving us good informations.
But now community is complaining why X changes are not here, why Y did not mentioned.
Seriously? Real?
They can't work on everything at same time. If Myers and Freddy did not mentioned for next 6 months changes, it just means they are not ready. But it does not mean they are forgotten.
As Freddy fan , i am dying to see him be fun and good again but i understood they have limited time for mid-chapters. Because they are also working on 4 new chapters every year.
Especially 2023 , they did amazing job here. They deserves some credit.
I'm dying for a Myers rework but as someone who also works on games I get it - it's just not ready to talk about in the next 6 months. The main thing people need to get in their head is just because something changes maybe for the better maybe for the worse doesn't mean it's the final change that particular thing is getting.
Pretty much agree with your sentiment - "Why X not mentioned"
Because it's not ready - This current communication we have is great and it should be what they do for the time being. I don't think they could communicate better if they tried. It's just not possible. They also take the time to answer stuff that isn't in the standard Q&A on the forums which not a whole lot of other studios do. You could cherry pick some examples but it's just not something many people working on games can always do because plans can change quick.

For the most part they may have to iterate on characters and perks a few times but ultimately I feel the goal is to eliminate a problem that is unhealthy for the game first and foremost which both characters presented. I feel while both aren't in an amazing spot they're better than their initial versions and it's better groundwork for future changes.
Although between Sadako and Chess Merchant I feel Chess Merchant was more of a failure and ultimately I feel the concept of stationary drones should be scrapped but again that's just me.

They have said they haven't come up with an update design for him yet. Probably the same for Freddy. Mikey's time will come.
I think this is a fair reply honestly - It's on their radar but they haven't finalized a concept yet - All I needed to hear.
I'd rather they get him right the first time they adjust him so I'm willing to be patient - At least Myers isn't clunky like the other killers in his current state. Just needs to be modernized a little bit for current DBD.
-
Chucky is honestly so insanely high value for what you get even if it's just a killer.
- Fun killer
- Decent perks
- Great chase music
- VA's voice acting Chucky & Tiffany
- The high amount of events that trigger voice lines
- Charles Lee Ray's model on its own for some animations
Probably one of the better DLC's to release in a long long time. Chase music sounds amazing on top of everything else. I'm genuinely surprised it's just five dollars.
Don't get me wrong I don't mind the bundle but I get for some not wanting to spend extra and be forced to buy a cosmetic - I wouldn't mind the option in the future though just let everyone have a choice.
-
tbh this is the first time I'm seeing people saying he's unfun to verse. PTB he seemed to have overwhelmingly positive post but I guess I missed the other side. (Yes - I saw the post about what should be toned down - Reception was still positive in those threads)
Personally - I love playing against this killer and as him. Definitely fills that void for another chase / mind game killer.
-
Killers are all bad role models so smoking is instantly portrayed as bad as a big meanie is doing it - therefore we should have even more characters smoking. By the end of the week I expect Clown to have a cigar in his mouth.
-
Holy ######### that's a lot of points - Thank you BHVR
-
Absolutely deserved
-
For The People isn't a useless perk it's just more situational on its own.
- You can transfer the obsession to ruin Killer perks
- You can quickly heal someone that is a hook state from death if you need to force the killer to go for you instead if you have less hooks
- You can prevent mass slugging and ruin the killers momentum
Could FTP be buffed? Yeah sure I wouldn't complain. It's certainly not useless though and I feel the issue is all the meta perks that have been meta for years are just too good to pick less consistent perks like FTP. I also feel everyone's expectations for what this perk should do has been raised when they view it with Buckle Up.
Situational perk? Absolutely. But it's a perk the survivor has full control over when they want to use it assuming they have a health state. I think it's fine as it is and yes I do run the perk. You realistically will never buff this perk to be on the level of most meta perks when it has a downside such as causing broken to the healer.

Killers have been crying all this time saying that 3% speed kills the game. Yet when killers get 5% it’s still weak?
Make it make sense 🤦♂️
If it was global it would be strong but it's in 12m range of a completed generator and you won't get consistent value out of it most of the game until the game is over. I'm not entirely opposed to it disabling in end game but it just feels like it could have had a better solution if BHVR was worried about 5% haste in range of all completed generators.
-
I feel it was a terrible solution to the potential problem personally. Could have done something like
"This perk gives 5% haste for 60 seconds after the exit gates are powered but then deactivates" so it at least gives value for all 5 gens in some way as a compromise. I just don't see how this perk getting nerfed like that is justified but I guess it was the safer choice to keep the perk in check until a better solution was found.
Only change in the list of PTB changes I don't like but at least it's a minor thing.
-
One of the more balanced killers added to the game as of recently with decent addons and strategies. Could probably be tweaked but I cannot view the killer as problematic, weak or overtuned. Seems to be just in the right spot atm compared to a lot of killers.
-
It's a little overtuned and the cooldown after the effect is fully used or expires should be longer. Too much uptime for how easy and effective it is to use. Personally the way I'd change it is shifting the duration from 30 seconds to 20 and the cooldown from 30 seconds to 40. It technically has the same cooldown but the main thing is if you use it and enter a chase you won't have that duration just passively reveal everyone even while finding / chasing people. You either commit to the chase or you look until you find everyone you want to.
So 30 / 30 to 20 / 40
Personally I like how easy it is to use but I just feel the perk has too much going for it compared to literally every other information perk in the game. But again - Not overpowered but could probably use adjustments.
-
The best way to view it is just enjoy it while it's here and remember all license agreements eventually expire after a certain period. It just depends on what BHVR managed to negotiate and how long until they have to renew the license.

I will say, something I forgot to include, while mentioning stuff about the shrine is you absolutely can buy characters and their perks with shards. And the amount of shards they cost is just fine. I was focused my opinion of how I think the shrine needs some tweaks to remember to keep that in mind.
Fair enough - I'm all for improvements regardless.
It wouldn't necessarily help new players but I do wish the Shrine acted as a weekly vendor for not only perks but also just outright buying addons you want. The Shrine should act as a hub for weekly events where you turn in dailies, buy weekly offers and even make offerings of your current inventory to get other rewards.
That being said that doesn't help the grind for new players. I feel just making stuff easier to access for new players is the way to go which by proxy helps vet players. I still feel perks for the most part should be more accessible in some way globally but I know that's a hard sell for a lot of people. To me with 30+ characters on each side progression on the bloodweb specifically for perks feels like a lot of busy work just to become competitive at what ever MMR you're at. I don't necessarily view DBD as a competitive game but more of a party game but with how the meta is in this game not having some perks immediately can cause frustrating games.
Personally I have all perks in the game so it doesn't affect me at all but I have plenty of friends who play far less because they don't have perks they want and they cannot be bothered to spend hours grinding just to prestige to get that characters perks.
-
@C3Tooth said:
3 years old original chapters should have 25% off, 4 years old with 50%, and from year 5 with 75%. In both Auric cells & Shards
To be honest I didn't consider permanent price cuts for older DLC IE Clown, Doctor, etc. Not against this either but I don't see it happening as the DLC goes on sale quite a bit as it is. BHVR also seems to prefer consistency with their pricing so I doubt they'd shake up the prices and then people out of the loop ask why.
Personally I'm all for this because I'd love to see newer players have easier access to older content as well.
-
I'm thinking about new players.
This is also why I feel the grind still looks overwhelming.
Make at least 4 more survivors and 2 more killers free with the game so new players have access to more perks when they buy the game the game.
For the most part I feel unlocking characters with Shards is fine but I'm not against the suggestion personally I just don't see it happening.
Make the shrine way more robust
I was under the impression BHVR was planning to rework the shrine a while ago but we haven't heard anything so nothing to add here.
Perk tiers
I agree but I think BHVR touched up on why this isn't happening and instead prestiging gives everyone a single tier of a perk if they didn't have it already. I feel removing perk tiers wouldn't affect the grind but instead make balancing stuff easier because you wouldn't have arbitrary scaling components of a perk to pad it out.
Lastly, there really is no downside to making things in the bloodweb either much cheaper
Personally I feel the bloodweb cost is actually fine - especially with the amount of bonus BP weekends and other promotions there is now. Although some require you to pay attention to social media to get codes or relying on people who do pay attention to share codes with you. There is Twitter, Amazon Prime Gaming and in game events that give rewards.
Here's my honest take
I feel the grind is fine for older players who have a decent amount unlocked but I've come to the opinion that if you buy a DLC you should get the tier 1 perks unlocked for everyone. Veteran players only take a couple of days to prestige and newer players have nothing. Yes the fun in this game can be progression but we now have enough of that with the archives, prestiging and soon to be banners and icons in lobby. Plus unlocking cosmetics by playing.
So yes I feel there should be a step new and old players alike should skip considering there are 30+ characters on each side. For those who grind iridescent shards to get characters sorry but for us who pay money yes we should get more benefits to doing so. Especially now that DLC seems to be being priced higher overall.
-
Personally I agree- I think it's too easy to get tokens by following the killer if your goal is specifically to survive. It's similar to survivors who only play immersed with Urban Evasion for example when they're new.
Usually this perk is detrimental to anyone on the team not running it.

You have to wait a bit for the animation - she usually lowers her arms after some time i think.
At least the other costumes do that.
If it does I admit I'm not going to wait a full minute that's obnoxious but thanks for the heads up at least. Maybe the animation could primarily have the arms lowered and then she raises them but either way it's bothered me for a bit with some characters. It makes it hard to preview some items.
-
I just feel the perk makes more sense for the purpose it's supposed to achieve now. I don't really consider it a nerf just an adjustment so the focus is on the original intention of the perk.

Most of the update looked pretty good - I'm concerned about a few Trickster changes but I don't see them as bad or poorly thought out. They all seem sensible and the effort to make big changes is appreciated. Yeah some things stay the same but I don't see that as a bad thing.
I'm super happy about the recent Trapper changes - those were great. Looking forward to this PTB as well.

The 4.6m/s change doesn't change his speed while throwing knives. It simply helps him out at tiles where his power is difficult to use, because unlike other killers he has to hit his power several times to do anything.
I know - I am worried about it though because I feel a lot of people are going to underestimate the movement speed change. It will allow him to reposition better for throws though which I worry about the situation of "back rev'ing" syndrome.
Other changes are insanely good though and I admit I wasn't expecting all of these things to happen to Trickster at once. To be honest I didn't even consider Trickster would be the next killer to get a huge sweep of changes. Was more expecting Myers. I know Twins isn't getting touched for a while but I know Twins is planned.
-
I like the changes but to me the most interesting changes are the removal of recoil and the change to main event.
I admit I'm worried about the 4.6 ms change but I'll see how it plays out. I think it's interesting we have a 4.6ms range killer now.

I went against two Naughty Bears yesterday. Both burned Ebony Moris. First one got a 4k but not a single mori. Second one, my friend and I threw ourselves at him. Begged to be mori'd. He hooked us once and then refused to touch us or anyone else for the rest of the match, even after the gens were done.
Two Naughty Bears, two ebony moris, zero moris. My confusion and disappointment are immeasurable.
I haven't heard a single voice line, either. :(
From my understanding only the killer can hear the Narration which I feel is a waste. Would be cool if the survivor heard the Narrator or a different version of it while being executed.

I know its been probably fixed but I don't want to risk it and I don't get why you need to link your account with additional layer when you can just linked Steam. So no, thanks. I just don't trust it.

More likely that they just wait for the rework and delete the tombstone piece entirely.
I don't see the Myers update being that close by. I'm mostly stating I imagine they'll band aid fix it if it becomes a trend before the rework.
Unless things have changed I doubt the Tombstone is removed entirely due to achievements. I recall this was an issue mostly because PSN related ones. Example being some achievements not being changed because of reasons such as the Huntress' insanely tedious one to get X amount of long range snipes compared to other platforms.
Again though - I'm out of the loop so if that's changed then that's the only thing that makes me have doubts.
-
If this becomes a trend it wouldn't surprise me if BHVR quickly addresses it next mid chapter.
I can already see BHVR just making it so the Tombstone prompt doesn't appear on anyone with Endurance.
-
I haven't even noticed the update was out but I've been playing other games waiting for the update to drop.
I like that it is an option and considering the post above I can see that it is not too strong which is ideal - It's better for the feature to exist and start out with low impact and tuned as the game goes on so that way there isn't any unfair self unhooks.
-
Have fun with the game and understand that occasionally losing is part of the fun. It's okay to learn meta perks and understand the game but sometimes you should prioritize fun over winning or else the game will become a grind.
In my opinion Meg is one of the better starting characters - She has two really solid perks being Sprint Burst and Adrenaline and she has a situational perk Quick & Quiet that's pretty good. I personally play Ace but all of his perks aren't great but I've already unlocked everything.
Every starting character has at least one solid perk that's great for people of all skill levels but I feel Meg's Sprint Burst is probably the easiest to utilize and get value from.
Anything else I would have had to say EQWashu has already outlined quite well in their post.

Welcome MistyShadowWolf!
I actually started with Nea way back when I started in 2016, and is not a bad starting Survivor at all! I wasn't planning on it, iirc I was looking at Claudette for my starting Survivor, but the Entity was constantly giving be Nea-based Rituals (aka Daily Challenges found under the Candle icon, or pop up when you enter the main menu), so I took it as an in-game sign Nea was chosen for me lol Urban Evasion especially can help you get used to hiding in close proximity to a Killer.
I personally have a few that I hope help you (and others) new to the game ❤️
- As Survivor, learn to rotate your camera around! There are some videos and tutorials on places like Youtube and Steam that can help you learn this far better than I could explain, but this will keep you alert to your surroundings, including where the Killer is in chase (when I started and didn't know how to rotate my camera well, if a Killer backtracked in an area I had no line of sight, I would run into them without fail 😅
- Windows of Opportunity (one of Kate Denson's perks) can be very useful if you are struggling with vaults/pallets while in chase.
- While you primarily mention Survivor, don't be afraid to give Killer a try! You can play against bots in custom matches if you don't feel comfortable going into a public match yet, but it allows you to get a perspective on Survivor you wouldn't have otherwise (and vice versa, playing Survivor can give a helpful perspective to playing Killer next time you do so)!
- Never never never ever never (ever) be afraid to have a bad game... or two... or day of them, especially when you are new <3 no matter which side you play, its to have a match you died quickly, or caught no Survivors, etc. And odds are, you'll take away helpful information for your next matches.
- Try things out! - even if a perk, item, or add-on doesn't catch your eye initially, try a match or two with it; you might be surprised!
- If you are having skillcheck trouble, there are guides and things for them as well, same as with learning camera rotation.
- Don't be afraid to run when the Killer is not nearby; something I was very bad about in 2016 and I'm sure my teammates then were not thrilled with me at the time lol
And I wouldn't be doing my job as Moderator if I didn't post a list of the in-game rules and reporting process: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/139-game-rules
But one tip is the most important: Have fun!
-
I've gotten two reports back but both were regarding cheaters - Both got back to me within a day.
-
Find a second game to play when you take breaks from DBD. Limiting your time and "detoxing" from this game helps a bit.
Just understand that you won't win every round as it's designed and losing is sometimes part of the fun. Ignore chat and just try to enjoy the moment instead of worrying about the end of the round.
My personal go to recommendation for anyone is Deep Rock Galactic. Fun affordable 4 player coop game with a lot of content.
-
I take the cheapest path manually to deplete as much of the bloodweb as possible and I don't trust the auto level button to do it. If I have a lot of BP saved up I'll auto buy but depends on mood and queue.
-
Typically when I notice survivors not picking up tapes it's 1 of 2 things.
- All the survivors are fighting over the same TV and by the time another tape is available Sadako is now in that area
- Survivors don't understand what the rework did and think holding a tape is bad

I think that it would be difficult for a single killer to defend against 8 players. Gens would fly too quickly. Perhaps your own hex only applies to your own killer ? Not to mention a pool of 32 survivor perks in a single game would be quite a challenge to face against if done right.
That's what I'm thinking too in a 2v8 - Yes pure chaos can be fun but realistically what's going to happen is you'll have killers constantly downing people with survivors unable to pick people up due to their buddy being nearby and on the other end of the spectrum survivors will eat through generators while the distractions instantly die.
I just feel various gamemodes limiting to 6 people could be more ideal which is why in my mind a CTF gamemode with a smaller pool of players is more viable.
Don't get me wrong - I want more gamemodes and would actually prefer a 2v8 - I just feel BHVR's resources are spread thin right now given the balance of the live game takes forever to address.
I'd love for the OG killers to be the only options in a gamemode like that though - Trapper and Hillbilly to me sounds like a lot of fun but I also don't want to see them bullied.
-
I feel that hex combos would be out of control with two killers on one team personally. You have one killer playing defend totem all game while the other killer goes around mass murdering with no worry to use time defending totems.
A gamemode I'd like to see is a capture the flag mode where there's a killer on each team defending a flag and the survivors on their team has to steal the opponents flag. I feel that's the main potential for multiple killers in a game without having balance too out of the window.
1 Killer + 2 Survivors vs 1 Killer + 2 Survivors. Could have a flag similar to how Knight's Banner works.
I'm all for a gamemode with two killers on one team but I feel that if it happens it should be killers curated by BHVR to not end up being Blight + Nurse in a slug fest or it should be an original killer specifically for that mode.
-
Who cares if shack pallet gets thrown down early - Most maps have equally strong pallets on them aside from shack pallet now. If a player gets chased at shack and get downed because the pallet wasn't there that's on them. Yeah it could be prevented in comms but that's every situation not just shack.
Like certain killers it's probably better to drop it early - Really depends on what killer your facing though.

In all fairness, they do. As someone who is getting more into killer, please hear me out.
Survivors have the same Bloodweb, Survivors are just skins. Killer mains who play multiple killers have to make more difficult decisions on who to invest in.
I propose no changes to the cost of Green, Purple nor Pink add-ons. I do want to see Brown and Yellow add-ons reduced to save the killer some BP and make it hurt less having to spend BP on garbage just to get to what you want in the Bloodweb.
Before anyone yells at me, I mostly play Survivor during the day because of matchmaking incentives and it's more fun. I play about 3 or 4 killer games a day at night.
I do somewhat agree because all survivors are just cosmetics and if you plan to invest into a killers power yes you have to level each character individually.
My personal solution would be weekly certain killers are selected to grant a Bloodpoint bonus to weekly but also the Bloodweb gets discounted for certain characters weekly too. Could affect survivors too honestly.
I feel survivor should get adjustments too - Mostly if you're lacking in certain categories during your game you receive a bonus amount of BP after the game fully ends based on a percentage of what your teammates did. Ran the killer all game but couldn't touch a generator? A % of the BP your teammates earned while you were distracting the killer will go to you once the lobby ends.
To me those would be fair changes for everyone.

I would love that to spice up the outdoor maps. Some maps could have thunderstorm and rains while a blizzard in the other. Night and day cycle also sounds good.
For me nothing too crazy but admittedly I'd love to see a snow version of some of the older maps like Suffocation Pit.

Yes, I understand that kills witching is ONLY for bugs, but there needs to be an exception for Skull Merchant, she's growing in popularity ever since the teaser for her "rework".
Lets face it, no one plays her except to 3-gen. It's incredibly boring and games for me have lasted up to 40 minutes once, its DREADFUL, and I'm honestly over her.
I don't want to play anymore chess, checkmate, you win, I'm done, PLEASE just let me play normal matches.
My enjoyment for this game has decreased so much because of this killer, I just want to p100 my Thalita without versing her, I only get around 20k if I stay for a round of chess with her, or I'm stuck with BOTS that crouch the entire time.
Again I get that its only for bugs but you need to agree, 3-gen Skull Merchant is miserable and i'm sure you want it killswitched as well, right? This killer is not healthy for the game in her current state.
Devs, please make an exception. When the PTB comes out, disable her, because were going to have to deal with her for like another 3 weeks afterwards.
I hope her changes in the PTB in two days are good, I really do.
My enjoyment of this game has decreased so much because of this killer
SM reminds me as to why I quit playing Rainbow Six: Siege - Didn't like the new content and how it permanently changed the rest of the game. When they started adding holograms and ######### I was out. SM is a good example of how a single DLC can ruin an entire game if unchecked.
Even if SM is rare I think I play DBD 1/4 of what I used to specifically because of SM's release. I just value my time more than to verse this killer. I don't care who enjoys them - They're a minority and the game would be better off without this killer.
Hope the PTB is good but maybe SM existing is good for me so I don't play video games as much anymore.
