They should stay green Offerings, but just not get burned if no Map Offering is used. We already have this Mechanic with Shrouds (where one Shroud can override another, the one which got overridden is not burned). No reason to keep it away from Sacrificial Wards.

They should stay green Offerings, but just not get burned if no Map Offering is used.

I'm honestly fine with that - Just the whole concept that you spend BP just to gamble on it getting used and not getting to use anything else sucks. It's not the worst thing in the game but it just feels like insult to injury and isn't a fun offering. It either does jack ######### and you just outright lose BP and the offering or once in a blue moon it actually works.

  • @ryokoryu said:

seriously I have 0 of these because I used em all and they never stopped survivors map offerings. I have burned hundreds of them and they do nothing. why do we even get them? No they are not burning 4 identical offerings before you ask. Been playing since Freddy came out

I just don't like how it's a Rare Offering that has a chance not to work either because no map offering was used and you had to guess if you should use it or all four survivors use a map offering. Should be a common / uncommon it's honestly stupid that it's a Rare Offering that could literally do nothing.

Not only are they harder to find because all the map offerings available but you likely never get use out of them. Would prefer that if they don't get used you get some sort of refund on them if they stay rare.

Yes I'm fine with the idea of going to a map I don't like if no map offerings were used - I get the purpose isn't to ban a map but to cancel out map offerings. It's still stupid in concept where you have to guess. You are essentially playing a mind game in the lobby to use these it feels like.

  • I feel killer and survivor offerings should be shared for each side but that's about it. If I get a BPS on Knight for example but want to use it on Deathslinger that encourages me to play around with all my BP offerings and that's more beneficial for everyone.

Just in general though I'd love to see offerings as a whole revamped but I guess it kind of works as now. Just a lot of left over offerings that bloat the bloodweb or are junk.

  • I understand he was toned down quite a bit for balance but I wish he had a second really long cooldown ability like a rush or a single use rocket launcher. It could shoot more concussive rockets but again I get it.

  • I love playing against Billy and I will die on that hill. I loved pre-nerf pre-Overheat Billy.

The only thing I don't like about current Billy is the camera still feels janky after their pre-rework update they added without adding it in patchnotes.

  • Do you have anonymous mode on? Or does it actually just not play while in queue and only at menu and I haven't noticed?

Anonymous mode disables licensed music although when the PTB goes live I believe there will be an option to separate those but I don't fully remember.

I'm actually going to check now

Edit - It does seem to play - Do you have anonymous mode on?

Double edit - Nope I see what you mean - I was wearing a cosmetic so yes it doesn't play. That's a bummer.

  • I enjoyed lights out because both sides were perkless and I felt like I could try different strategies on each side without worrying if a certain perk was in play. Whether I was winning or losing I never felt like I got robbed for getting destroyed for example.

While playing Vanilla I feel like I have to always bring my best builds or accept a loss. I want to try fun non meta builds but if I do I essentially cost my team the game or I throw the game as killer doing so. It just feels like there are so many perks in the game yet so little because it's always the same type of perks needed to play the never changing meta.

So essentially - I agree but to an extent where everyone is bringing their best loadouts for fear of the other side doing the same. Sometimes the killer gets stomped for a misplay and sometimes all the survivors die in less than 5 minutes. If not the game drags out for about 10-15 minutes.

  • Those addons are pretty nice compared to the prior addons so I'm not complaining.

  • More haste perks

If I had to guess Chucky was testing the waters for a similar power - Usually when BHVR makes something new that isn't the only thing similar in the pipeline. Going to assume the killer is low to the ground and uses a third person camera so they have a non licensed character with a similar trait.

  • image.png

How I feel with most of the games I get

The Do Not Enjoy section doesn't necessarily need to be specifically about the killer - usually it's how the team plays against them that begins to decline the enjoyment of the game.

Yes - I unironically enjoy versing Freddy and Pinhead. If you're playing one of the four killers in the top I love you and I will shower you with praise.

If I'm playing against the first 11 killers at the top generally I have a pretty good session of DBD if I'm survivor even if I'm losing.

  • If you're relying on the head pops to get kills as Pig you're going to lose anyway.

Yeah - They're buffing the "worst" part about Pig's kit - That's good. Buffs that make her more viable out of hovering over a RBT key spawner is good.

  • I like most of the changes but I'm surprised Huntress is receiving any changes at all. 7 Hatches seems way too forgiving without addons as a base along with an increase in movement speed winding up. Pretty stoked for the Doctor and Clown changes though.

We'll see how the PTB plays out.

  • I wish the auto level was slightly faster but also we didn't need to prestige a character once to use it. I really don't see a reason to need to prestige someone first.

  • I'd like to see Call Of Brine Buffed on its own - Don't really feel any other regression perks need buffed at the moment.

  • I don't find her difficult to deal with but most solo teammates I have seemingly don't understand her making games incredibly difficult and stressful against her. Although Fussy summarized it perfectly on post #3.

The main thing is the playerbases lack of understanding on changes to killers or sometimes even just how they function or what makes them strong. Wish the game was better at relaying information and teaching players before a player even got into a game.

  • Barely noticeable but I'm glad it's an option - I would like to see the alternative gamemode reach a point where gamemodes are rotated in and out every other hour.

It's easier to find survivor games in lights out and killer games in normal queue if there was a noticeable difference - I still find games in under a minute regardless of what I look for unless it's late at night.

I'm on a trackpad and I've slippe when trying to click on "yes" to say you answered my question ... 😫

And these wonderful forums don't seem to allow to mark the post as an answer anymore.

Could you put the answer again right below so I can mark it? (Maybe editing the post is enough?)

After 8 regression events you can no longer regress a generator - This was done to prevent 3 gens.

I'll grab a link to the update notes for you - this change just happened.

Features Field of View Settings There is a new settings option in DbD! Players now have the ability to adjust their FOV, or field-of-view, with a slider in the Settings Menu. This allows players with a first-person-camera (Killers, with the exception of The Good Guy) to adjust their field-of-view, reducing motion-sickness…

The spikes that appear I believe are a visual warning that start appearing after the 4th regression event and will automatically appear when you approach the generator at 8 when it's fully blocked. Keep note I'm not entirely sure if this is actually how it works but I've spoken to a few and it's really not clear aside from the spikes just let you know you're getting close to being unable to regress it anymore.

That being said - Spikes are part of the limited regression changes you can inflict on a generator.

    Hope this helps

  • The main issue this community has is the "Us Versus Them" mentality.

Still one of the worst communities I've been a part of in a while and has definitely changed my approach to how I interact with some people in games. The only reason the forums are manageable is because BHVR is actually active here.

We have ANON mode on Nintendo Switch. I believe, for reasons beyond me, that only XBOX doesn't have it.

That's actually wild that Switch has it but honestly all platforms should have it. I feel bad for the amount of times I've read a post about a console user getting harassed in DM's just because they were playing a game or in some cases users abusing console reports to get people banned.

  • I hate it - I don't understand why there's an animation for the buttons to disappear only for the same buttons to reappear again with new ones below it. Feels really clunky and I don't see a point to this change. Looks and feels unfinished.

I genuinely assume this was one of those behind the scenes changes to fix some sort of exploit because of how random it was.

Edit - I see Peanits posted and it was for the new Modifiers gamemode - Alright fair enough.

Please update it though - It just feels awful to navigate and it's incredibly unsatisfying.

  • I only dodge if there are specific streamers in my lobby. Usually ones that are not self aware and more so middle tier. Other than that I usually don't need to dodge.

I don't dodge anon players - I feel like it's probably the best feature to deal with toxicity in this game. I shouldn't have random idiots visiting my profile because they're uber butthurt that the game didn't play out the way they wanted it. I don't care who you are, streamer, player or anything in between. I'll play how I want - I don't need your backseat gaming. I feel bad for console players though - I feel like they should also get anon mode. We can argue about subtle cheaters but plenty of people cheat even without anon mode and you'll never be able to tell - There just needs to be better tools to report and detect cheats.

I might dodge a flashlight lobby if I'm a low tier killer but only because I worry about the perk Background Player - in the hands of a good player this perk is a nightmare to deal with and to be honest I don't have a lot of time to play. I'd rather just enjoy my casual experience whether I win or lose without feeling like I'm playing a tournament.

That being said - I don't feel lobby dodging is justified at all. I just don't care - Just like the same mentality everyone in this game has if it doesn't affect me I don't care. The lobbies will fill up eventually so I won't complain.

  • I would suggest bot games but with bots you'll never really mind game them - I thought when they were added they'd be a great practicing or learning tool and they're not really good for both if it's 100% all bots on the team. They're too responsive for experienced players to practice mind games and too linear for new players to really learn anything. The tutorial bot is the only set of bots that are decent but you can only play Trapper with them.

As for real games - I feel the averaged out MMR should be reset or adjusted when a killer is reworked. Personally I know how to play Billy so I'll climb to a normal mmr but for everyone who quit playing or never touched Billy when the rework / nerf happened I imagine they need some easier games starting out to get back into it.

I feel your pain - Billy is one of the most fun killers in the game and I'm glad he's relevant again. Hopefully you can find a convenient way to learn them. The only option is playing in a controlled environment of custom games with a bunch of friends if you want a chance to learn chases as him.

I played a lot of Singularity but never went against one until like a few months after learning him, and my mind was blown when I learned how the EMP worked for the first time. The fact that it's a whole sphere, the fact that you have to click M1 to activate it after charging it, yeah.

To be fair I'm a killer main so I don't play survivor often but it felt so surreal playing against a killer I'm familiar with, yet not knowing how to go against them...

This is pretty much my feeling exactly - I felt like I was on training wheels running against the P40 something Singularity I went against. I should know how to use the EMP because Singularity is one of my most played killers at the moment but apparently not. I absolutely understand why no one plays them though - They require so much work to do what most other high tier killers do for less effort. I still enjoy playing as them though.

  • Playing against Singularity - It had been so long that I'd played against one last night that I forgot to use my EMP I was holding. Last time I saw one was about 4-5 months ago give or take. Ironically I enjoy playing them I just haven't versed them at all since basically launch.

  • Good (Non meta) perk but it's made difficult to use by a somewhat common perk Distortion since it procs at the gates and is a dead giveaway if this perk is present.

Regardless always fun to use but again a lot of better options if you want to win without risk.

  • I thought DBD was only on Steam when Legacy became a thing? I'm pretty sure legacy shouldn't be shown on Cross Play for anyone if you are on steam?

Cross progression is a thing now? If it's possible to transfer over cosmetics to another platform then I guess it could be a thing but I've never seen it. The only legacy cosmetics I've seen in a while are two players - one being a Nurse and one being a Jake player. Both from steam though.

Given the replies though I guess it is actually possible to transfer over cosmetics from Steam to Epic so out of curiosity I'm going to do some research now.

Edit - Looks like it's as simple as making a BHVR account and signing into both steam and epic on it to sync accounts. So it seems it is possible to sync progression / cosmetics between the two platforms. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong as I just looked it up and found two guides on how to do it. Unsure how accurate it is but at least it makes it clear to me legacy could possibly exist on an epic account normally so I'm not going to falsely report anyone for cheating.

  • Overall the power is pretty fun to play around - the only criticism I have is sometimes on some tiles the scamper under pallet can be a bit annoying. Not even oppressive per se just I feel it makes chases awkward and wouldn't be against it being restricted to one scamper per Hidey Ho or possibly reducing duration of Hidey Ho for each scamper until you decide to charge. I feel you should be able to scamper as much as you want if you manage to line it up during a charge.

Other than that I find Good Guy extremely fun to play as and against. Just the unlimited scampers is a bit too safe of an option and discourages a lot of people playing Good Guy from trying more risky charges. I feel scamper should be discouraged and the slice n dice should be encouraged.

I play on PC desktop but I found most of my friends who are miserable versing them are on console so part of me assumes it's related to their size and how players observe their monitor / display but I honestly couldn't say on that. Even in games where I've lost terribly against Good Guy I've always enjoyed my games against them. I just feel unlimited scampers outside of slice n dice shouldn't exactly be punished but should come at slightly more of a cost. The cooldown itself is fine - if I had to pinpoint what specific part of this is an issue it's how quick Good Guy can scamper under the pallet once it's dropped. The actual cooldown is fine.

Unrelated to my criticism - Mostly concerning if this is a bug or not. During Hidey Ho I feel sometimes their footsteps across the map are not visible and it makes it unclear to know if their power is active or not. If I understand the power correctly I feel this is just a bug based on some maps having issues displaying footsteps but unsure.

    tl;dr

    • Encourage Dash attack - it's fun for both sides and a great show of skill expression for killer
    • Discourage scamper under pallets when used outside of dash
    • Possibly increase the time before chucky can scamper under a pallet once it's dropped - cooldown itself is fine - I'm indifferent about this
  • Messages aren't there unless someone was present when they were posted.

Unrelated but you've reminded me how I wish it was possible to spectate and use chat with other survivors while watching the rest of the match play out. I get it would be a PC only thing but that would be such a huge improvement.

  • I've never been so excited for a killer rework or change as I am with Hillbilly I am foaming at the mouth right now.

  • If this brings back Hillbilly this is going to be my favorite update in years.

  • There's a lot of licenses I want but ultimately I want The Thing in the game. The map, the obvious pick for the survivor MacReady and The Thing.

  • I feel that Iri head hatchet is extremely unfun because while yeah you can get some sick ass long range snipes most people either bloodlust and throw it at your back and camp with it.

During the addon pass for Huntress they missed an amazing opportunity to make a really cool rework of the addon instead of just crunching the numbers. Most of the people who wanted it changed literally just asked for a range requirement for the one hit downs. That way it could be played around and when they happen most people aren't going to complain and be like yeah that wasn't earned.

You can still play around the current iri head but it's boring and unfun. It's not overpowered by any stretch it's just an uninspired addon that could absolutely be changed.

No comment on the Clown addon.

But would anyone really complain if iri head had let's say - 3 hatchets without the restriction to not increase it - But to get instant downs hatchets had to be farther than 20 meters?

    Would people complain?

  • The ability to phase through awake survivors is the only thing I'd really bring back about him. The rest of the old power I don't care about at all. In fact I'd honestly hate for Forever Freddy to return. Freddy is such an interesting character both personality wise and thematical power wise but we got a boring washed out version of the 2010 remake Freddy.

I've always felt he should have a separate boiler room area as part of his power for deep sleep. The recent Halloween Rift area thing is pretty much what I'd always imagined should be part of Freddy's power.

I feel with the recent release of Alien and now the Halloween event with its own unique area BHVR could do something like that with Freddy now.

  • Happy New Year!

  • I don't want Decisive Strike buffed unless it has restrictions like disabling end game. Prior it was absolutely stupid where people would try to abuse it to aggressively defend teammates. Unfun perk to deal with when it's strong.

Not against buffing it - Just not to the OG timer unless it disables when all 5 gens are powered. Should be similar to Off The Record and other stuff designed to protect you when the killers objectives include both protecting gens and killing survivors.

When all that's left is survivors you shouldn't get a free unhook out the gates. Guarantee if you return it to 5 seconds with no restrictions you'll see a rise in slugging again.

  • Add Crypto from Apex Legends to Dead By Daylight as the killer.

  • An addon that allows Hillbilly to keep sprinting after chainsawing through a survivor similar to the one for pallets. edit - Also some sort of stipulation to prevent it from working at hooks to prevent Bubba related incidents. Just think in practice outside of hooks it could be cool to have a low tier addon that can be used for surprise plays such as survivors trying to bodyblock or grouping up in bad spots.

A single addon to increase chainsaw charge time slightly or alternatively add two varying ones with a drawback on the higher tier one. Stacking rev speed was kind of busted and made worse with tinkerer but that was genuinely the only major issue old Billy had. Even so it wasn't exactly something that made him unbeatable or oppressive.

I'm mostly banking on overheat being removed for brand new addons honestly. Wouldn't mind lopro chains being basekit somehow as I feel that addon greatly increases Hillbilly's chance for skill expression. Essentially being able to rivet and rebound off of pallets and breakable walls.

  • I'm okay with more content but at a certain point I'd prefer certain things be legendary skins for existing characters. The best example is The Hillbilly is a prime candidate for two Resident Evil skins being Jack Baker with his Chainsaw Scissors from Resident Evil 7 and Dr. Salvador (Chainsaw Man) from Resident Evil 4. Possibly even a third being The Chainsaw Sisters from Resident Evil 4.

The only possible characters left outside of that is Mr. X and the Super Tyrant if we lean more towards iconic Resident Evil baddies. Lady D is cool but she had a minimal impact on the lore of the game and her presence was short lived.

Overall - I just prefer to get skins and possibly update Hunk (Legion skin) to have actual voice lines and chase music. I would absolutely not complain if we got one more Resident Evil map though - Notably the mansion from Resident Evil 1.

    This.

    https://youtu.be/DcafiMonlE0

No insults to anyone in the match, they clearly have different priorities and that's fine.

That being said, when you get teammates that don't do gens and then do things like this, it's extremely demoralizing. You have a Killer that excels at camping and I'm put into an instant-loss scenario through zero fault of my own.

That is exactly why a lot of people are burnt out of DBD. Lack of meaningful agency and feeling like their own skill doesn't matter, be that on Killer or Survivor.

I still completely blame the battlepass for games like this. If a survivor is throwing the game it's usually because they're tunnel visioning their battlepass. I blame it more on the battlepass only lets you do one very specific thing per game and not everyone has the time to deviate away from getting their rewards.

  • Remove the option to unhook yourself without perks and instead give an option to give yourself some sort of other buff voluntarily either on your first or second hook stage. All you're trying to do when you unhook is either suicide, self unhook when the game is practically lost or abuse luck mechanic.

tl;dr - Replace self unhook with a mechanic that can be activated that helps teammates save you.

He probably just needs a break. The devs don’t always make the best decisions, but I do believe that they care about this game. Just look at how much it has improved over the years. I wish we could get some changes faster but it is what it is. I still love this game and can’t stop playing since Chucky was added.

I agree they absolutely care about the game but I feel the main thing everyone can consistently agree on is how long it takes them to make certain changes.

Game has absolutely improved over the years and is probably in one of the better states it's ever been - Just wish the updates came a little quicker. Kind of felt like this became an issue when console was introduced due to certification process but again I don't really have a key way to pinpoint. I remember early DBD from 2016 - 2017 they updated at random sometimes and it was for the better with QoL stuff. Sometimes BHVR just tried things and I feel that helped a lot.

Maybe it's just nostalgia speaking for me but either way - The slow pace is what I feel everyone wants to see change. It's more our lack of understanding on why things take so long. Like how do certain changes reach the pipeline and how long did it take them to get there.

  • Probably one of the better changes for new players assuming it's comfortably priced. I can only respect BHVR for this upcoming change - I feel it's what a lot of newer players need to make stuff more accessible.

  • Remove overheat and adjust the first person camera to be less janky / shaky.

Just before the Hillbilly rework he used to have a much different POV in first person - it was comfortable to play as. For some reason BHVR decided to rearrange the camera position when they changed the animations and it feels awful.

  • Would love for the main building to be redesigned a little to be a bit more fair on both sides - it's far too safe for survivors. Although outside of the building is a lot more fair - it just naturally makes survivors hover around main.

Compared to a lot of other maps it's not a really problematic map though - Would prefer swamp get looked at if given the choice but I just feel Asylum plays out the same each time I get it due to the design of the map.

  • Not too consistent but it's a nasty perk for slugging builds and tunneling. I've not really found a use for it outside of those two things. I do really like the perk though as it makes pickup saves harder for survivors and can even get them killed attempting them.

  • @GentlemanFridge said:

I think the biggest surprise is that Huntress is on there.

Makes one really curious (and slightly concerned)

I'm more concerned Huntress is in there at the same time period as at least 5 other killers. So either one specific thing is changing or every killer listed at that time is getting something standardized between them - Could be good or bad.

Not going to speculate too much past that but Huntress was one of the names I was surprised to see - at least ahead of some other killers. Who knows maybe Iri head is getting a proper rework. Would be cool if it rewarded long range snipes and disallows close range insta-downs like most people wanted at the time.

Not bashing on BHVR for prioritizing Huntress over other killers by the way - My post is just that I am surprised and that's all.

  • If it's just tweaks it's probably just related to their cooldowns and durations on power and some addons. Admittedly surprised to see a few of those names on that list so I'm assuming they're standardizing something between all of those killers so likely addon passes.

  • @ratcoffee said:

I would love to see badges that work kind of like Relics in Dota 2 where it keeps track of how many times you do specific things. For example, a Ghost Face badge that you only get after 100 marked downs, that on hover shows exactly how many marked downs you have gotten, and visually upgrades at certain milestones.

Actually stat tracking would be pretty awesome for a banner in some capacity.

  • For starters - there should be a bunch of free banners for basic achievements and prestiging.

Outside of that just events and DLC - Ideally no "legacy you were this level before this date" crap. Would prefer BHVR just move forward with a new system instead of constantly feeling they need to cater to people who want special treatment outside the rest of the playerbase.

I'd love to see banners that represent map realms - I want everyone to know what my favorite maps are.
