  • I miss the old bloodhunts, I took a couple breaks and have not seen one in years

  • It makes me sad this has happened to DBD.

Imbalance issues, grind, mmr, none of that makes me not want to play, but knowing theres subtle survivors cheating in a portion of matches (I have caught some in recorded matches) is the only thing that makes me want to walk away for a bit, and I don't want to.

  • Back before bloodwebs were buffed: "grind gonna kill dbd"

197 perks later: "grind gonna kill dbd"

  • Mclean: "I hesitate to use the word exploit because someone gonna quote me out of context."

Which happens in every one of these threads, he didnt want to label them exploits. Period.

  • Victor is more fun than majority of killers imo. I laugh out loud almost everytime I land a pounce LOL

You are lucky if you have 4 other friends willing to play custom games with you. Most people just wanna play normally to get bloodpoints.

And also public matches aren't really ranked anymore, they are graded with invisible matchmaking so it's not very competitive, especially considering there is a soft cap. Winning doesn't necessarily get your grade up because you can escape as survivor and still not pip and as killer you can kill everyone and de-pip.

Just saying the game literally has "casual" mode, you even can choose the map and have all perks unlocked.

Fact is: no one wants to play casual with their friends and be stunned by their flashlights repeatedly etc,... they want to join public matches and troll the killer. Well, in those lobbys, killer is going to try to win - hence COMPETITIVE PLAY.

You should only get BP if going against real opponents, if you wanna head on your friends all day you can do so.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It's okay for people to talk about the competitive aspect of the game but i just don't... agree with it. I wish the community was more seperated into casual and competitive but they all seem to be mixed up into one.

Nope, you can log in a KYF lobby with your friends and Head On each other all day. You can troll your buddy as the killer and stun him repeatedly.... but you wont.

Public matches are PVP matches with rank system based on wins.

  • The game by definition is competitive since it is "online PVP" but I agree the "comp" scene as it is, is much different than public DBD matches.

BUt to think this game is not competitive is silly imo, if it wasn't competitive, no one would try to win.

When the game removes pipping and "winning" via emblems, then it will not be competitive.... KYF lobby is the casual side of the game, pub matches are PVP

I have seen you complain about not getting hatch, so dont try to get hatch bro its not a competition.

  • crazy, Ive been putting in crazy hours past few weeks and have wanted to see one, but havent, I play surv daily and never have

  • Must be regional, I never see this stuff in NA server

  • DBD speedrunning is getting popular. It's crazy how good they are.

  • I like it. I like the neighborhood type of feel

  • yeah I have made and uploaded vids of this as a surv

  • It's obviously Jason.

And he's gonna Deepwound you, so more mending coming survs. Get that M1 finger ready.

You can also slow the game down by constantly slugging like the Twins do. Not surprisingly the slugging meta by Twins is very much hated too. Because its tedious getting constantly slugged. Just like Legion's mending.

Matches being prolonged by gen regression is night and day compared to constantly having to stop everything they are doing to mend. Not to mention perks like Pop and Scourge hook can only regress a gen so many times in a match because a killer can only get so many hooks. Contrast to Legion they can frenzy double, triple the number of hooks a killer can get. Ruin and undying is no hindrance given that totem spots are predominately awful. I can't remember the last time I saw ruin last longer than two minutes in a match.

    Twins is love <3

    I wish Victor applied Deepwound

Drop the condescending attitude. I am not thinking in us vs them at all. The question this thread asks is why do survivors dislike going against Legion. You suggested its because they go against the healing meta. I don't think it has anything to do with that given Plague is much better at that and not getting any real flak for it.

Nothing to do with killers bringing slowdown. I main Myers and I run three gen slowdown perks. Its simply that Legion's constant mending is tedious. Plain and simple. There's no us vs them mentality in what I'm saying.

well if you slow down the game on one killer USING 3 SLOW DOWN PERKS you really shouldn't be complaining about Legion mending slowing the game down.

Perks like Pop, Pain Resonance, ruin, undying, etc add way more than 20 seconds to a game. Pop probably makes games longer than legion mending imo. As I said, you guys wont complain about having to hold m1 to repair that gen that just got 25+15% instant regression now you gotta repair it for 20+ seconds again to make up for it ;)

  • Unfortunately, you're gonna feel helpless against good SWF teams for a bit. But I assure you young killer, one day you will crave the type of fight they bring.

Here's some advice I can give you:

    1. Drop chase if you cant catch them in 20 seconds or so (this can change depending on how close you are their positioning etc) if you spend too long chasing one person the others are banging gens.
    2. Don;t instantly pick up survivors if you know people have flashlights, stand over the corpse for a few seconds faking the pick up then look around, youll b e surprised how often you can get a hit or even a down on a second person, leave the first guy slugged for a few moments, its ok it creates pressure.
    3. Get quick with looking up or down with flashlights
    4. use your ears, LISTEN for things.

One day youre gonna look back on this struggle as just the climb of the mountain of glory bro

The really warped thing about the censorship in after game chat , when you are saying something totally innocent and reasonable it makes you look like your flaming like a maniac, i think there be an option to have the censor on or off

it is set up this way so you cant report people for what they say anymore.

If you cant read it, cant report it. When I first started playing this game, survs would tell you hurt yourself in almost every end game chat, and it was reportable back then,.... now, you can type whatever you want because no one can read it anyway LOL

  • Last night I had a surv tell me they hope I fall down stairs and hurt myself for "playing Legion."

Oh noes, what will I do, Im a mess today, cant eat cant sleep. The horror of words is too much in this game, I need BHVR to protect me.

Most Legions constantly frenzy hit to get location info and knock people off gens. Being forced to mend is a time waster. The instadown is a gimmick that only works on potatoes. Don't think I've seen any complaints against that. Just like mending in Legion's face is what bad survivors do. You're asking to be downed.

Legion is still a bad killer. I don't think this update changed anything significant about them. They just amplified the tedious aspects of the character. That's why survivors aren't enjoying them. Not the healing meta. Not that they're OP in any way. Just tedious. A Legion match can feel so much longer than your average one. Not in a good way.

I know this may be difficult for you to think past the us vs them, but the game is literally designed so that if killers slow it down it goes in their favor, which is why so many killer perks slow the game down. The devs design the game this way because everyone knows gens fly and ofg course survs want fast games and escape, however, it is the killers job to prolong the fight so they win. Game is designed so once resources are gone, killer can win.

I know those of you who never play killer to red grade monthly cant grasp these things because you only see it one way, but the game is designed for killer slowdown.

  • LOL, Im gonna accuse survs of "totem rushing" in chat tonight to troll them LOL

You can't deny a Plague her power. She gets at least one corrupt pool by default. Two or three if she decides to bring the apple add ons. But that's not the point. You said it was about the healing meta. What's the difference to being sick or being frenzy hit? Injured is injured. With a Legion you can still heal. Plague's infection doesn't allow healing and can punish cleansing.

Who says they enjoy constant self caring? You don't heal nearly as much as you need to mend in a Legion match. Most competent survivors don't even care about being injured. They have their dead hard and iron will usually. But having to constantly stop and mend is about as much fun as watching paint dry.

If you are mending over and over and over, that Legion is memeing and going for instadowns. Probably survivor main in disguise. I always escape against those scrubs

Any true Legion is gonna deepwound you maybe 4 times. I dont play that run around entire map crap.

I often hit someone, they start mending in my face, I cancel and down them, so you not even gonna mend bro, you going on hook.

Dont worry the survivor mains playing legion right now playing that way will go back to Meg soon. Then youre left with those of us who actually know how to play Legion

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2943637#Comment_2943637

I don't think it's got anything to do with that. Plague counters the healing meta far more effectively than Legion does but you don't see nearly as many complaints against her.

It's the constant tedious mending that makes Legion matches such a chore.

You can refuse to give Plague her power, not so with Legion, his power counters the 4v1 and it throws people off.

You guys simply pick and choose what you dont feel like doing. Self care? 32 seconds, ah youll do that 10 times per match, after a 20+ second runn across entire map to get to a boon location,....but mending is too much.

  • @KateMain86 said:

Just think if killers didn't tunnel something like BT being base kit wouldn't be needed. By the way is BT becoming base kit for survivors? Are we finally going to see the end of tunneling?

Borrowed Time doomed itself. Had nothing to do with killer tunneling. The perk created the unsafe unhook meta which caused devs to nerf it numerous times, not because of killers actions, but survivors....

Survivors know what to do: Create the problem, complain about the problem, get devs to carebear it for you

You honestly think basekit BT will end tunneling? LOL you guys will be tunnelled and slugged even more, mark my words because unsafe unhooks will sky rocket too

  • Bubbas chainsaw should ALWAYS knock items out of survivors hands.

  • I honestly wish killer could turn off music, I would rather hear the environment, the music really is loud almost to cover up other survivor sounds on purpose.

Chase music is the secret killer nerf

  • Be patient with your pouncing if you are having trouble.

Use the hands of Victor as a crosshair and hold aim still as they go right and left let them come into your crosshair and then pounce.

Dont try to keep turning to aim at them. Let them come into your aim like Deathslinger

  • I am thankful for this recent tome, I had not touched Twins until now and am loving them.

Hit p3 on them last night, grinding out the rest of the perks over next few days

  • I got some news for people too, survivor mains love playing Legion.

People always think "those evil killer mains are only playing Legion"

No, survivor mains play him for BP and to collect salt from survivors too. Its is why Legion is one of the most popular killers and rakes in the cash with cosmetics.

Same goes for Camping Bubbas, often it is survivor mains playing him, there are numerous survivor streamers who do this. They are survivor mains but play Insidious Bubba on stream to be toxic.

  • People complain about noed, but deadhard is in everygame and rewards more bad players than noed ever has or will.

  • It really boils down to one thing.

Legion goes against the healing meta. CoH boons mean nothing in a Legion match, they are used to the same game over and over. Shift W, get hit, Shift w to boon and heal. Repeat. They simply cannot play against Legion playstyle.

  • Hatch exists to give survivors a place to stand and rest until killer finds them standing there teabagging.

It is also a place fror Wraith to rest, after a long match he can stand there to gather his thoughts and noed smack the unsuspecting last surv attempting to escape.

  • I just know as soon as I finish p3 all my killers they gonna reduce grind to no more perk tiers or something.

Over half way there, grinding Twins/Demo p3s right now

  • @Sumnox said:

Who uses flashlights anymore? They're virtually useless and extremely situational lol

1 killer perk = removes flashlights entirely (franklins, lightborn...)

    Flashlights are 2017 cool

I still get last second switch 4 man swfs running flashlights, had one last night. 3 flashies though not 4. I got the 4k

  • Adults are not able to see "destroyed you" it is vulgar and obscene!

We must be protected from these type of bad words

yes, "destroyed you" is literally blocked in post game chat.

  • Imagine a survivor complaining about "same perks"

My lobby looks like Vegas Bingo

  • Killer counters their free hatch escape and suddenly, its "I was robbed no fair time out."

  • @_AdamFrancis_ said:

Pls bring lightborn so I know to stay on gens instead of going for saves!!! ๐Ÿ™

You keeping da homies fed with escapes, thank you for using lightborn. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’•

Last night I literally recorded a match of an Adam like you being fooled by me pretending to not have Lightborn all match.

No one escaped, adam tried blinding me over and over until the end of the match, you guys NEVER figure out we have it. If you do, you already on the ground.

  • DBD has perks like Mad Grit, Monstrous Shrine, agitation, iron grasp, there are literally achieves for hooking 4 basement style play. Devs also put a basement in every map, but if you use the basement or play using perks that support that playstyle,... well "you are not playing the game normally."

You are supposed to run around the map hitting people while they constantly heal and teabag you, I repeat DO NOT USE PERKS THAT ARE IN THE GAME TO WIN, and do not hook in the basement it is scary for the survivors and impossible to escape.

  • Because like everything would be abused by survs.

Every other lobby would be 4 flashlights and we would be back to where we were years ago when the flashlight blind was a pure white screen that gave you headaches after it flashing 20 times per match.

survs already abuse the last second switching to flashlights, if killers could not see items it would be even more widespread

  • @LinkToReality said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2942285#Comment_2942285

I fully agree with the nodding, it's basically the same as tea bagging. Neither is toxic unless used in a way that is intentionally toxic, which is much harder for the nods.

Tea bagging after outplaying the other player isn't toxic, it's just cheeky fun for the most part, the same goes for nodding as killer after you down that survivor that acted like they were untouchable. A single hit on the hook after you hook a survivor that looped you really well isn't toxic either, it's basically just a way to say "You did well and I don't like it!", as long as you move on after that it should be fine imo.

Survivors waiting at the exit gate for the entirety of the EGC just so the killer comes over to watch them tea bag until they have to leave or the killer hits them out is toxic and just a huge waste of everyone's time.

Killers face camping and constantly hitting on hook while nodding is toxic behavior for the reason that the survivor can't prevent or ignore it at that point.

I nod to survs when they outplay me like "good one" I will also nod if someone tries to deadhard me and I get them. Like "nice DH bro"

Nodding/teabagging during an outplay is not BMing imo. I dont mind when a surv acklowledges they outplayed me there and does a quick crouch. Versing good opponents is what we should want in a PVP game.

Watch some comp killers they nod when they get outplayed too. Its just a way of saying yeah

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2942314#Comment_2942314

Ok so what you're saying is that there essentially is no win condition at all. There is no incentive to get better, no incentive to play against better players, no reason to get kills, no reason to escape, nothing. Just play as legion and run around the map to get as many hits as possible and then let them all escape to make your MMR go down but you still pip up. Peak dbd right there.

You have a very odd opinion on what it takes for a killer to pip up. You make it more evident by your posts you have no clue what you are talking about.

"let them all escape so your MMR goes down but you pip up"

You won't pip if they all escape, not sure why its so hard for you to understand buit it shows you have never played killer to red grade thats for sure if you think you can have 4 escapes and still pip.

  • Don't listen to survs about Legion.

If you are running up to an injured surv, I cancel too. They are used to getitng deepwounded and running off, no, cancel and down them. Don't give them the speed boost.

    Only noob Legions dont cancel.

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2942302#Comment_2942302

You raise your MMR by getting at least 3 kills. You do know it's not based on pips or bloodpoints anymore, right?

    Why so dense?

    Wins/Kills/Pips are all tied together.

You cant have one without the other.

Fact remains the game has a win condition in the game based on pips. You can try and spin it how you want, but "Entity Displeased" has and will always be a loss. 3k means you did good. So yes you rank up, and you pip. You used the term "winning" raising MMR is not a win, 2k is not a win, pipping is.

    Duh

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2942299#Comment_2942299

What? That doesn't mean anything, the point of the game is to get better by continually raising your MMR by winning and going against better opponents.

    So how does one "win?"

    By pipping.

You raise your MMR by pipping up and "winning."

You obviously must not play killer much.

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2942296#Comment_2942296

No... Pips are not the win condition anymore. It's only based on wins now, if you get 3 or 4 kills your MMR goes up.

Your colored rank or grade is not used for matchmaking and is now just a number that does nothing.

Grades do not matter nor doees MMR.

Pips are the only win in the game.

"Entity Displeased" is a loss, do you even play killer?

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2942290#Comment_2942290

It's not me saying that 4 hooks is a tie lol. The 4 hooks results in a 2k which is a tie.

Killer will not pip though, so its technically a loss, most likely -1.

If killer got 2k with 4 hooks, you guys were terribad.

Pips are still the only win condition in the game

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2942263#Comment_2942263

Pipping has nothing to do with MMR. earning bloodpoints has nothing to do with your rank.

And if you actually read my post I talk about playing killer lmao.

    Allow me:

    Devs: "2k is a tie"

You: "4 hooks is a tie"

We know who is right. My point about8k in 3 emblems means you played a good game, try to keep up. You think killers can tie with 4 hooks? LOL thats -1 all day

  • @Brimp said:

I don't get how smacking on hook and nodding is toxic... either way one of the reasons you're angry is because the killer is trying to win.... I honestly don't see why that could be a reason to be angry about.

    This.

Survivors can teabag you at every pallet at the exit gate but if a killer nods, OMG we need to be able to ban killers like that.
