The only problem I have with him is the fact that he's a far easier Hillbilly for a bit more value.
It's not an actual Cannibal issue, plus a Hillbilly issue, I know but it does irritate me.

@Dumpstick said:
DBD is as casual as it gets.
It's only not casual because you are treating it seriously. If you treat it casually it is totally casual.
It can't be casual when you're dicking around as a survivor instead of instantly searching for a gen and work on it, but the killer has Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer + best combo add-ons + try to get out asap 1 survivor of the game so he can have an absolute win. Oh and your team mates that are leaving you even if they were never hooked, because SBMM is based on the fact you have to survive, and only that, to increase your ELO.
Same for killers, it can't be casual when you're bringing some fun perks and add-ons (even without add-ons sometimes), with BP offering, and gens are flying around in seconds, with survivors that have DH, BT, green toolboxes, Boon, and Prove Thyself. You just hadn't the time to do anything.
There is a competitive/MMR (call it whatever you want, it's the same #########) ?
So there has to be a casual mode/Quick Game matchmaking.
-
Why are there always some people that are searching THE thing like "look at that, there is not enough equity, males have that and not females".
I mean, I'm sure if there wouldn't be any female killers in S tier, there would be some people saying "why, female killers can't be strong ?"
You found THE fish bone on your plate.
There is a tall woman (The Plague), there is a strong woman (The Huntress), there is a scary woman (The Spirit (and hell she's seeking revenge, this character is so well made imo)), and there is the only telekinetic character that is The Nurse.
Also if you take a look on the original characters, there are 10 male killers, and 8 female killers, which is a very good ratio (absolute equity in number shouldn't be a thing, it's the path to living an actual hell, and unfairness).
I don't know if you're making this post to campaign for feminism, if yes, you're so wrong, if not, my apologies, I think I've been a bit agressive in my comment.
Back to the topic, males are biologically more agressive (because of testosterone, among others), so psychopath are more common on the men side than the women side.

You're just wrong. It's as simple as that. You clearly just want easy matches where you don't have to try at all. Boon totems add another element to the game that is fun, fair and interesting (for both sides).
I will say that I am a survivor main but I do play killer quite often and have a large interest in seeing this game balanced for both sides. I have also been playing this game for literally years so I happen to know a lot about it.
"I played this game since years so only my opinion matters and is true, whoever is saying something that I disagree with is wrong, it's as simple as that."
Holy cow, you sure are a strong advocate of freedom of speech.

Maps like RPD exist with long hallways that make dodging ranged and dash attacks (like Hillbilly's chainsaw) unfair, yet the map was still put into the game
Hop-hop-hop, I have to stop you there, there so much little things and doorways in these corridors that you can't chainsaw people like that... RCPD sucks for Hillbilly.
-
It can't be server sided as it is something precise to do, 1 mm too late or too early and it won't work, this is something that has to be survivor sided, I mean, the killer gives the angle and the opportunity, and the survivor has the good timing......
Also, how the survivor would be able to place the flashlight save while taking into account his ping and the killer ping. That would make the flashlight save nearly impossible.
-
Ah yeah, how to make every exhaustion perk trash tier.
-
They have to improve the duration of the purple and green keys, so it is possible to bring them as aura reading item. Currently only the pink is viable.

How about permanently add time to bless for each time your boon get snuffed?
Cool-down that isn't really cool-down and short does nothing. Even if you would bring long cool-down where you can't use boon totem at all, we would just counter it with 2 players usig CoH and just take turns.
Yeah I think too about that, for each time a totem is snuffed, the next blessing would take 10-20% more time to be blessed.

Bubba does have a overheat, but instead of going on cooldown he is punished with a tantrum. His overheat dissipates much faster as well.
I'm talking about an overheat mechanic like Hillbilly has. Bubba can rev to 99% forever, guarantying to be able to chainsaw whenever he wants.
A hillbilly can't do that, and, anyway, he can insta down only one surv, where Bubba can insta down the entire world. He is a freaking face camping machine, and survivors can't do anything about that.
-
Personally, I always wondered why Hillbilly as an overheat mechanism where he can only kill one surv with his power, but Bubba doesn't have it, and can facecamp to death any survivor with no actual counterplay.
@Nathan13 said:
Bubba is fine, his camping is easily counterable if you’re not in basement.
Yes, it is easily counterable if :
- You trade.
- You have BT.
- The unhooked surv has DS.
- The unhooked surv has Unbreakable.
- The Bubba player fails and doesn't hit at the right moment both of the survivors so the unhooked surv has the speed boost...
- ... BUT his power, with all the tokens, outspeeds the speed boost (that's why I said it's a requirement to have BT).
And I'm pretty sure I forgot something. Anyway, this isn't a counterplay, because it is so situational, too accurate, just for ONE gameplay, and which doesn't completely relies on you, as a player.
A facecamping Bubba hasn't any actual counterplay.
Change my mind.

But sure, DbD is a comp game, so well balanced for it.

Ah yes, I clearly loved a clearly non competition game to have an MMR that emphasizes tryharding.
Also this MMR is way worse than the pipe system, I don't know why they didn't tweak the old system.
Seriously, 2 years for that ? Are you ######### kidding me ? I mean, wow, just fire the guy who had this idea, and the other guy who approved it.

Should never have been alive. It's a competitive game. I see nothing wrong with doing whatever the game allows you to do to win. The only unnecessary and immature stuff is the crap people type to each other after the game ends.
"It's a competitive game" holy crap I laughed so hard.

I thought they used a mix of MMR and ranks these days. So they match you with people of a similar MMR and a similar rank usually, unless there is a particularly skilled player at low rank, in which case they can be matched with red rank players (like I have been seeing after the reset, today while I was Iron 4 I got matched with 3 red rank teammates).
Either way, my matches are definitely worse after a reset. Both yesterday and today I have only only had like 3 good survivor matches out of probably 15+ survivor matches. Before the reset I was getting a good match like every 2 out of 3 games.
That is psychosomatic, ranks aren't used at all in the MMR.
Also I'm bronze rank, you said players are matched with ranks, so why am I getting gold or iridescent ranks ?
Ranks have nothing to do with MMR.

For now, this perk is trash
DS improvement needed
Also in DS there should be an aura if the killer still decided to tunnel the poor player - it should show the team the survivor and the killer
Or make it so 2 hooks 2 DS fair exchange for the current nerf
Hell this perk is so damn good with DS and Unbreakable. You remove all the pressure the killer would have gained for... Basically free ? I mean, saving one dude is the easiest thing in this game.
Being broken for a minute is nothing, if you can't play without being healthy, maybe you have to improve a bit.

If DS was made basekit, literally anything M1 action would have to disable it.
Yes, so if you're tunnelled, you don't have the time to do any action, so that's actually a fair counter to it.
-

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2611831#Comment_2611831
It is not bait. I am just really curious if it would be really that OP. It would force the killer to play nicely:
Unbreakable = Don't slug for a long time (recovery speed could be nerfed)
DS = Don't tunnel
BT = Don't tunnel
So if the killer plays nice, they won't really notice this.
There is always one crucial moment as a killer where you have to slug. This is not toxic, "not nice", or whatever it is. Overslugging or slugging for no reason (for example when you already have a ton of pressure) is another thing, but saying "slugging is an unsportsmanlike conduct because it ruins others game" is as dumb as saying "killing is an unsportsmanlike conduct because it ruins others game".
-> Unbreakable is strong, it has to stay a perk, and not a basekit thing.
DS basekit I want it from its nerf. Now when you DS a killer, they were consciously tunnelling you, and you did not anything to make the game progressing. Tunnelling is something that has to be destroyed.
BT, well, survivors never should unhook in front of the killer, and if DS is basekit, this surv doesn't need BT.
The only thing required to punish a killer to tunnel is the current DS basekit. With that, you can buy a lot of time for your team.
But, these three perks basekit ? Did you ever played a single game as a killer to even think about that ?
-
Seems to be a translation problem, I have it too in French.
-
I up this, got it too and it is very annoying.
-
Personally, what triggers me is :
Why is Charlotte's Victor respawn cooldown only 13 seconds, where the basekit GhostFace cooldown is freaking 24 seconds.
I mean, the power of Charlotte gives her map control, mobility, pressure, massive snowball potential (I mean, you HAVE to heal as a survivor, you must heal or you'll be crushed in a matter of seconds), and if the survivors played well (or Charlotte played bad), she just has to wait 13 seconds.
But Night Shroud, that only gives stealth and maybe a potential down..... 24s ? It makes no sense. It has to be 18s basekit at least and he requires an entire add-on pass.

So MMR ranks killers by their kill-ratio? In my games gens are done very quick and i might be lucky to get some late game kills by NOED.
Yeah they admit that you gain/lose MMR basing on how many survivors you killed and so, how many survivors escaped.
(And that is a ######### MMR)
-
@Infinity_Bored said:
Okay, for some unknown reason the game thinks i am able to handle such survivors. Will try my best to adept to this MMR.
Well, or you killed a lot of survivors every game so you have an high MMR, or you're just unlucky and are matched with people that are intentionally losing some games sometimes so they can verse low MMR killers.

He's not a god nurse but i find him quite scary yet i am sure you will be able to run him for the eternity effortlessly

You have a future in comp dbd then since even the best survivors in the world struggle to run a nurse even for 30 secs. But i guess we found a new fingergunsz
I'm sorry but that is wrong. There isn't any counter argument because it is just wrong. There are a lot of locations where the chase is a 50/50 for both side.
-
There isn't any audio bug.
It's just that the breathing sound are replaced by injured moaning sound when you are injured. When a survivor is injured there aren't both audio running.
But yeah, a survivor shouldn't stop breathing because of IW. The simplest "fix" to that would be that, when you're using IW and injured, you're just acting/breathing like a healthy survivor.
Anyway, I'm for a nerf, IW grants a strong effect for free, and there isn't anything in the game that can counter that (I mean... That was the unique reason of Stridor to exist).
-
I can run a Nurse for an eternity while using anything that is breaking LoS.
Play her for a while, you'll know she has counter play, you "just" have to play differently versus her. How much she's charging, where she's looking at before blinking....
The only map where I think she's busted is Midwich, because you have nothing to truly break LoS.
Edit : she's fine basekit, the only add-ons combo that are a problem are 3-blink, double range and purple range + green recharge. These combo are denying any error you would do or any good play from a survivor.

Riddle me this.
What kind of skill can I acquire to counter the fact that the Survivors hear my Terror Radius 8m sooner? If the Survivors know what's up they can run early and make me follow after them and gain distance at a ridiculously slow rate of 0.4 m/s. That extra 8m of distance will lengthen the chase by 20 seconds at that rate of catching up.
It's the same sh*t for every non-mobility killer, even 115%. 0.6m/s is also super slow to catch up with a W-gamer.
Huntress has the same problem than him, but the lullaby is even bigger than his TR, and she has to wait the full charge to hit a fast hatchet. But in proper hands she's strong, now it is the same for the DeathSlinger.
I see you have a certain amount of comments/posts here so you're certainly not a beginner but sometimes we forget the basics : come from somewhere the survivor won't be able to flee you in a way you can't cut his trajectory. With 110% you have to outposition sooner more than the other killers the survivors.
@Dino7281 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2576337#Comment_2576337
Well, playing against Deathslinger doesn't require skill anymore, maybe survivors should practive instead of crying.
I can agree with bigger TR and fake ADS nerf, but quick-scope nerf is what killed him for me.
He is just not interesting nor fun to play without it. That's not hard to understand imo. I don't think he ever was an easy killer, but quite a lot of players were good with him, because of FPS games, which is not a thing anymore.
The quick scope thing was why he was so unfair and so unfun to play against. There is no practice in earth that makes you realistically able to react to a 0.3s move.
Plus the fact that as a survivor you had to move in a stupid trajectory so you hope to avoid a sudden quick scope, but by doing so, the DeathSlinger outposition quickly and for free, just because he CAN quick scope.
Quick scoping doesn't require to aim well. That's my opinion. It's just the easy way to have shots.
Now he's hard, but fair. People who actually know how to outposition, how to move, and how to aim will perform with him.
Saying he's garbage because you don't use him well is the same as saying Nurse is trash because you have to put 15 hours in her to more or less master her. People have to play him in another way than before.

Now you have to actually aim, my bad, life is so hard.

Boons are supposed to be really strong, though.
There just needs to be a limit on how many times that a totem can be reblessed or the blessed totem should get destroyed when the killer snuffs it.

The very fact that it doesn't reset every month, and you don't just get all players oversaturating red ranks, means it's already fundamentally better than the old system.
That plus individual killer MMR.
They can keep the way you get pipe in how you gain ELO, and not resetting every month. They way we gain pipe is much skill accurate than "did you escape ?" / "How many survivor did you kill ?".

Like I said I support workers, not the company.
If you boycott a company, they will lost money and fire employees. Im here for the devs and I will continue to play the game and buy cosmetics.
Uuuh or they can just change how they work ? Because people are complaining about how they are managing the entire game ? If BHVR fires employees because of a boycotting, it is just telling they are garbage and that they won't change. So we would know it's a lost cause and leave.
But if they make an apologize message for the community, and that the next updates prove they have changed their way of working, it's another thing and we would stay.
They will gain far more money by changing than just firing people.
-
Yeah, now I'm always left on hook at the end of the game. Surv are leaving whenever they can so in solo Q it's terrible.
Also we can say everything we want, but SBMM is "how many survivors did you skill ?" Or "Did you escape ?", so SBMM is worst than the old system, like, it CAN'T be better than the old one.
-
I was already sceptical about SBMM, like, how would it measure skill in a different way than rank system does, but when they told us that only escapes and kills matter, I laughed so hard.
Imagine working 2 years on it, for something that is as simple as "did you died this game ? / How many surv did you kill ?", AND someone thought "Hey, it would be a better matchmaking than the current one, that is measure how much were you altruistic, .....".
I just can't understand how it happened. It is such non sense and foolishness.

Changes nothing, Dead Hard used well extends a chase whether it be a window OR pallet. Everything you list about "countering" Dead Hard consists of either luck or mistake on the Survivors side, that is ZERO counter play from the Killer in any form.
"DH used well", you said it all. In good hands, and prepared, DH is strong. Basically, a strong perk is a perk that, if well used, will bring value to the game. If you don't know where you are, or not preparing it, your DH won't change anything.
So that's the point of "playing well", that's the cost of the perk. Give that perk to 3/4, they will just mess up. It's not just "press a button", if it's that so, the entire game is "press a button to win".
Unbreakable, you want to give a drawback to a perk that you never use every game ? My lord you're just an entitled killer main or what ?
Borrowed Time is fine. Just wait if the survivor is cocky.
And tbh NOED is fine as at the start killers have no good perk available, and they're basically playing with only one perk the entire game. Also it is a hex so...

ahh yes, I love it when my Ruin is cleansed in 30 seconds because it's in the middle of the open. No you're missing the point, I'm not saying just remove the open totems. I'm saying remove them AND add more well hidden totems. They're supposed to be a second objective for survivors to spend time on. Not to be cleansed in the first few seconds of the game, rendering you with 3 perks. And let me assure you. If I take note of every time my Hex is broken within 90 seconds of the game starting. It'll be an overwhelming majority.
Well my favourite builds are full Hex totems, so I know how it works.... And I play survivor too so I know how much it is a pain to search for totems.
-
Is there a Face camping nerf ?
-
This is why totems are actually good, let me explain.
Totems spots can be everywhere on the map, either super well hidden or in plain sight. That's where their strengths is.
When searching for hexes, survivors have to go to every spot possible in the map, turning around every rock they see,... Robbing a lot of time.
If they were only good spots for totems, these would be limited, and survivors would just have to remember like... Maybe 10-15 spots per map ?
But yeah, sometimes you get good spots, sometimes not, that's how hexes work.
-

I use it as a detection perk, but it does not have to. For instance instead of the needle visibly moving when the killer is close it could still fill but give no visible indication it is filling until it is full it would no longer be grayed out. Then it still works as distraction but not detection against all killers.
Well, it could anyway give an indication that the killer is here. Suddenly you have Distraction active, you know there's the killer nearby.
That is one of the strength of Stealth killers, and I think it's fair they have that kind of advantage too.

Honestly, I think it should be killer Deadhard. Instead of tokens based on generators, you should hit E during a lunge to get extra distance then go on a 40 second cooldown.
That is a super nice idea, simple but effective.
Also it is "Coup de Grâce", not Fat Shot
-
Yeah I don't even know how it is not a thing, like, the server makes you hit, but the server doesn't apply the hit on the concerned survivor anyway, that's a weird design.
