  • The reportable version of body blocking is the type done to take the game hostage. Body blocking to gain an advantage but not hold up the game is allowed.

  • They never said that using voice programs was cheating in that stream. They just admitted that voice communication would destroy the balance of the game and give survivors too much of an advantage so they didn't want it in the game.

  • I'm in favor of cross play, but I am a PC player, so admittedly, I wouldn't suffer any of the downsides from it. But more players in the same matchmaking = better queues.

  • This would help close the bridge between solo and swf, but it will also introduce some inevitable voice harassment which will require adding a lot of other things to combat.

ive always quite liked to idea of a little more info in the starting lobby, allowing for some counter pick potential, but as @Tzeentchling9 points out, last second switches would be all the rage

Yeah, but you could hover over your own OP stuff preparing for a last second switch as well if it's really that much of a concern.

  • If I had to guess, I guess one possibility for the dangerous reward would be if every survivor is in the deep wounds state, then further feral frenzy hits will actually down then. But obvious that would be way too powerful the less survivors remain.

  • Yeah, straight up catching somebody in a blatant lie in a fashion that can be proven is definitely grasping at straws.

  • That's kind of hard to do in a fair fashion unless you're willing to disable 8 maps. If it's less than 5, then one player didn't get a say. But if the killer doesn't get 4 times the say of a single survivor, then map selection will be highly survivor favored.

Its a 1000% crutch perk and the fact you can play the whole match without getting touched only to get obliterated by NOED is a joke. The killer has to do nothing but suck to get instadowns at the end is crap. I play killer about 75% of the time at this point and onlybrun NOED when I'm running chill games where I'm trying to get everyone points and show people where my totem is at the end. You're being rewarded for being bad and it needs a rework.

Survivors have to do all 5 gens to activate No Ed.

Survivors have to cleanse totems in order to counter it.

Survivors get no other benefit from cleansing all totems (aside from BPs), even though it took time away from doing gens/healing others.

What exactly do killers have to do in order to active it? Nothing.

That's the main problem I have with it. Say whatever you want about perks like Adrenaline, but survivors at least HAVE to finish all gens and get to the end in order for the perk to take effect.

So I definitely agree that there needs to be a condition (At the very least) on hooks that needs to take place before it activates.

Yeah exactly, it's a killer perk with effects that are determined by survivors and not the killer. I'd like to see these entitled killer mains name one single survivor perk with effects determined by the killer instead of the survivor other than Alert, Boil Over, Borrowed Time, Iron Will, Distortion, Kindred, Mettle of Man, Sole Survivor, and Spine Chill.

  • @fluffymareep said:

Yeah the only thing those do is cancel out anything that isn't SB, but gl getting killers on board. Some still get tilted over survivors having exhaustion perks.

Trust me, the vast majority of killers don't give a ######### about most addons that cause status effects. Personally, I didn't even realize that exhaustion addons were powerful enough to actually concern survivors this much. I must prefer addons that actually enhance killer powers to status effects. Hindered is the only addon status effect that I'll actually invest in. I wouldn't mind getting Deep Wounds on some addons. But mangled, blind, and most of them seem so pointless to me and a lot of others.

  • Killers don't need passives since they already have individuality. And if it's not obvious what passives a character has by looking at them, what's the point of adding them at all? That completely voids any attempt to add individuality to the survivors if it's not based on the character.

  • A single game isn't the best evidence, especially since every single game I've seen used to say nurse is OP so far always has something screwy like a disconnect or suicide in it. If somebody ran 100 games at red ranks, it would display a lot more of her power. Preferably 100 with addons and 100 without so you can see the difference in power. But that would require a lot of dedication. But man, could you imagine somebody with enough dedication to use god knows how many hours to do something like that. I mean the only thing more intense would to be to have a 4 man survivor team play hundreds of games to prove a point cause that would even require 4 people with that kind of dedication.

  • The Plague has a cult, not a fanbase.

  • Theoretically, you can play selfishly. You can also saw off one of your legs and go through life. The thing is it's not a smart choice, and if you do it, people will judge you for that choice.

  • Since when does auto aim work with lunges? And if it does, why does 360'ing ever work?

@Dehitay yeah dude putting your game on a live stream and then taunting them in-game is totally comparable to setting somebody's belongings on fire and killing their pet

i'm so glad i decided to talk to you. what an eye opener

And getting stream sniped is totally comparable to getting the hell beaten out of you. It's the exact same line of logic but with different extremes. But the problem is nothing opens your eyes. You close mindedly think that people who put their stream link as their in-game name have absolutely no part in the completely obvious consequences of their actions.

  • @miaasma said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/580729#Comment_580729

i'm going to simplify this for you as much as possible so that i never have to read another generational rant from you again

putting your game on a livestream does not force anyone to go into your stream. the stream sniper had the agency to decide whether or not to snipe you, and elected to on their own free will. nothing you did forced their hand, and the ball was completely in their court to snipe or cheat off of your stream

i don't care about your list of precautions for how to not get stream sniped because they are completely besides the point. we've already established why this behaviour is not bannable (and why it cannot be bannable). even being obnoxious and baiting someone into stream sniping you doesn't rob them of the agency to make the decision to do it, it just makes it more understandable when they do. at no point in time is a streamer at fault for being stream sniped, and i don't care about your low hanging fruit arguments because they're stupid

if you cannot understand this, that's your problem

That's the kind of intellect it takes to think that a person who sets somebody's belongings on fire and kills their pet bears no responsibility if they get the hell beaten out of them in retaliation. Sure the person who beat the hell is guilty of assault and battery and should be tried for such. But saying that the victim bears no responsibility is absolutely ridiculous.

"if you cannot understand this, that's your problem"

  • @miaasma said:

yes, but the stream sniper is still deciding to stream snipe, and the streamer isn't forcing them to

by blaming the streamer for this you're blaming the victim and not the perpetrator, this is very simple

also, "stream sniping" can be something as harmless as attempting to get into the same game as a streamer, but it can also mean checking the person's stream while playing against them to gain an unfair in-game advantage

Just because "don't blame the victim" has become the battle cry of a brain dead generation doesn't mean that victims are never responsible. If you have your name set to t.tv/ObviousPrey, start teabagging and flashlight harassing the killer, and then get stream sniped, then yes it's the killer's fault for stream sniping you. However, if you think that the moron who walked straight into it doesn't bear any responsibility, then you're wildly mistaken. Getting stream sniped in DbD is actually rather difficult unless you're a major streamer or you make it ridiculously easy to do. So unless you're a major streamer, just don't make it easy if you hate being stream sniped so much.

If you people get sprint burst nerfed, ima be pissed. I dunno about this exploit but its things like this and people griping over nothing that completely ruined borrowed time and decisive strike. Instead of complaining, I dunno, try getting better? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

What kind of crazed survivor entitlement trip are you going on? I get that you're so self centered that you think exploit sprint burst and free escape DS should be part of your kit, but Borrowed Time has been buffed 3 times since it got nerfed to a balanced state.

  • Slenderman is a problem on two fronts. There's no license for him because he's a folktale creation, but he's also not original since he has his own game. There would put the game designers in a bit of a problematic situation on character creation without being able to make an original killer or buy a license.

Also, Slenderman's lore doesn't lend well to playing the game like other killers do. He becomes more deadly as you look at him which would be a massive problem for survivor balance. And he's supposed to slowly creep up on his victims which would be a massive problem for killer balance.

  • Personally, I rarely see bloodlust making that much of an impact. I think the best solution would be to get rid of it and compensate by making killer hitboxes the same size as survivor hitboxes. That would solve a crapload more problems than just excessive pallet looping, too. The killer blocking basement stairs problem would have been eliminated with this along with a number of others.

  • @ABannedCat said:

Why does everyone look at PEAK players? Why not look at AVERAGE players instead. It better reflects how many people play the game on a REGULAR basis.

The game is slowly, but steadily growing since summer 2017.

Looking at average players is what intelligent people who understand how statistics truly work do. There's no place in this thread for logic!

  • Yeah, the problem isn't really the shard prices. It's the cell prices that are ridiculous once you stop to think about it.

  • Killer based ping will disappear with dedicated servers, so at least this problem has a time limit. I've never really had that much a problem with it personally though. I don't tend to get many red ping killers in a row.

  • I think ebony moris might be a bit more balanced if they were reactive to what the survivors brought into the game. Initially, it starts off with the functionality of a green mori and allows you to kill one survivor. Then for survivors after that, you can kill survivors that brought a purple addon into the game after 2 hooks and kill survivors that brought an ultra rare after 1 hook.

Prestige is suppose to increase rarity. LOL I am P3 on mostly everything and I think it is a lie.

Yeah, that used to be the case for the old bloodweb system. And I think it might still affect pre level 50 bloodwebs, but once you get to level 50, all bloodwebs are preset to have 1 or 0 ultra rares, 3 very rares, 6 rares, and then a random mix of common and uncommons.

and what about most of the other maps where the gates can spawn close?

They could power up 1 gate on the hatch opening a bit of middle ground, then the kiler and survivor has the choice to find the hatch or go to the gate

On those maps it's about a 50/50 chance of them being really close or really far apart. Which is an even disparity in a situation where the killer has outplayed the survivor team and then proceeded to beat the last survivor to their 2nd chance escape. By all logic, the 3rd chance to escape should actually be remotely small, but because they have garunteed max distance gate spawn maps, the average actually goes above 50% in the survivor's favor for a high escape possibility scenario.

  • @Rich2015 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/577040#Comment_577040

and what about if there are 3 DCs? End game is too unbalanced now.Close the hatch by all means but let the gates power up when the hatch opens.

If by unbalanced, you mean ironically in the survivor's favor, then yes. Not only do they get a 2nd and 3rd chance to escape, but because of maps like the Game and Lery's which are garunteed to spawn the gates on opposite sides of the map, they're more likely than not to get good distance between gates.

  • On the same level of intellect, I also think it's not fair that I'm not given a greater than 50% chance of winning as killer when I got completely outplayed. If all 4 survivors are alive by the time all 5 gens are done, I think it should be mandatory that a survivor lets me kill them before gates can be opened.

  • This would also conveniently help with more rare versions of colorblindness other than the standard red green.

And what did prevent the killer to chase them? Furthermore, what did prevent the devs to add requirements: only pauses when no survivors are around X meters.

Most the fact that it was a 100% dead give away of the location of the enemy.

  • Survivor health progress is already slowed down if killer is in a certain range. Stopping it just gets abused by survivors who are more likely to hook camp than the killer. What BHVR should actually do is make the 8 meter killer aura reveal from Kindred baseline and then rework Kindred to where the hooked survivor gets a percentage of objective points from all generator repairs while on the hook, and all other survivors get 15/20/25% faster gen repair speed while the killer is in 8 meters of a survivor hooked using Kindred.

  • I originally had an idea that survivors shouldn't instinctively have the knowledge of how to repair generators. They should have to read a manual in the basement to gain the knowledge or have the entity bless them with it by interacting with the killer or killer items.

However, nowadays, I think it would just be better to revise how generators are done instead of adding a second objective. I think a better solution would be if every time a generator was done, it sent a feed back loop that instantly removed 50% of the progress for all other generators in the map. So survivors would either have to group up to work on the same gen which is more dangerous when the killer arrives, or they can keep splitting up but it takes longer to finish.

Either way, I think they'll need to simultaneously do something about tunneling when they do something about gen rushing or else the game will probly become surprisingly killer sided. I think a simple solution would be if they made it to where if the same survivor is hooked again within 60 seconds of being unhooked without the killer hooking a different survivor in between, then instead of going to the next phase, they just go to whatever percentage they were at when they were unhooked. But like gen rushing, any changes to tunneling alone will likely make the game more unbalanced.

  • Ironically, getting more than a single use out of a pallet, trapping a killer for 3 seconds, and slowing a killer's speed all already exist in the game without perks. Looping, stuns, and both misses and hits. But if you have yet to find a perk that slows things down for the killer or wastes their time, allow me to help you find one of those difficult to locate perks:

    • Borrowed Time
    • Adrenaline
    • Decisive Strike
    • Dead Hard
    • Balanced Landing
    • Lithe
    • Sprint Burst
    • Head On
    • Mettle of Man
  • When I first started, I thought flashlight was useless cause it could never blind the killer before he got to you. It was over a month before somebody used it on me while I was animation locked and then I finally understood how it was supposed to be used.

Actually it has to be a human indeed... I know this so well because MC gave me this answer when I asked him a question regarding this in a Dev Stream long ago.

It was this : I asked him if the Wraith and the Nurse are ghosts (due to their abilities) or not. His response was that all DbD Killers in the game and the ones we would be getting in the future were human, ordinary people like you and I, at one point in their life. That is why I´m convinced that there will be no Demogorgon Killer. It might be that MC changed his mind about this by now but until now we´ve never gotten an animal as Killer and that´s why I think that a Demogorgon wont change this philosophy.

Animals don´t kill their prey because they just can or because their evil or because their simply psycho´s... they kill either for food or territorial things or for mating reasons but not because of the reasons humen kill for. Now the Entity is an old god and he feeds not only of the survivors suffering but also from the killers urge to kill, from the killers joy to kill and sometimes from the guilt a killer feels (we all know that the Wraith was no bad person)... The Demogorgon would kill to eat, not to bring a sacrifice and not because it´s evil or because it has fun doing it... it does this simply for food.

The Spirit is 100% a ghost unless the lore is complete BS. Also, BHVR said there would be no clowns or religious killers. The no non human killers was specifically for character models anyways. If it's still possible to make the character model without too many problems, the demigorgon would be entirely posssible.

  • Actually, swf counters Freddy far harder than it does any other killer. Usually the devs make killer powers to cover up imbalances in the game, but ironically this time they made a killer that's especially vulnerable to one. As long as you're with friends, there's a very easy way of telling which pallets are real and which are fake. Especially if that particular friend is the flashlight monkey whose job is to flashlight stun save people rather than do gens.

  • Actually, now that I think about it, it would be freaking hilarious if they gave him a head cosmetic that did that nodding off thing that survivors do when they're dream transitioning.

  • @NMCKE said:

Totems are in a tricky position because of maps. Since maps are getting smaller with every update, totems have much less area to hide in. If maps are getting bigger, killers would suffer, especially the ones who don't have a mobility power.

I'd to see the developers check what parts of each map are the least explored, then build totems around that.

######### are you smoking? First of all, every single one of the latest maps has been freaking huge. Second, smaller maps far more often have better totem placement cause of the lack of various wide open fields. Ironically, smaller maps actually have much less areas to be open in.

  • @Seanzu said:

Why? Getting P3 on freddy isn't a chore, you could 3 Blink nurse all the points you needed to max him????

Am I wrong or could you also do that with all other legacy skins? The difference being Nurse naturally had 3 blinks at base at that point.

The reason for legacy skins wasn't cause of the difficulty of getting bloodpoints, but because it took around 4 to 5 times as many bloodpoints to prestige.

  • I guess you weren't around for the original placements, but it has improved. However, there is admittedly still a number of stupidly obvious spots that need to be deleted from the game.

  • So you want to make NOED have absolutely 0 effect if survivors just play like they should have been playing to start with instead of the hostage situations that made EGC necessary to begin with? Yeah, that seems about right.

While that version of Left Behind is definitely more useful than what we have right now, I don't think it will change all that much in the end. I'd prefer if Left Behind made it possible to reopen a closed hatch after channelling it for about 10 seconds, but the moment you start, there's a loud noise indicator to let the killer know where you are. If the killer remembers where the hatch is and sees the indicator there, he has to run over and the survivor has the option of hiding. Which would mean the killer now has to watch over both gates and the hatch in order to secure the kill.

  • @Tzeentchling9 said:

You've already failed doing gens and finding the hatch first. A 50/50 shot at your third chance for escape is generous.

Ironically, cause of maps like the Game and Lery's where gates are garunteed to be spaced on opposite sides of the map, it's actually greater than 50% chance in the survivor's favor. But reality won't stop the whining.

  • @ArecBalrin said:

lmfao, I had completely forgotten about this

  • Yep, both EGC and NOED definitely activate when the killer has the upper hand. Nothing says the killer is winning like all the generators being done.

According to what so many people keep saying to validate not touching swf, swf groups aren't common enough for that to be a valid arguement apparently.

The suggestion actually has to be possible in order for it to be taken seriously. It's been explained a number of times that you can't just eliminate voice communication for swf groups since it's done with 3rd party programs.

  • I think that description might be valid in the less common case where you have video evidence of a rage quit that's pretty much undeniably a rage quit and you want to send a support ticket with the video. To my knowledge, you're supposed to in game report any problem players you want to sent in a support ticket about.
