Can we all look at the source of the problem for a second? Why do people give up? Why do people leave?
Fix that!
Because some people give up easily, how do you want to fix that?

What's your build with this perk?
It might be fun on skully...
-
Use distortion, it's quite good perk now.
Mainly because of Nowhere to hide.
It's better in SWF when you can callout killer perks, but it's decent for soloQ too.

Well are bloodpoints more important than playing different maps? I agree with map bans but I’m just saying for the time being maybe just use map cancels
I always play role that currently have BP bonus. There is never enough BP.
Don't really care about same maps, issue is that map offering means one side is prepared for that map more than other.
But without map offering mirror Myers is not a thing. Well, he is unplayable because of MFT right now, so doesn't really matter.
-
If survivors want to genrush, they can.
If survivors want to hide all game, they can.
If survivors want to play full power struggle builds and deny any hook, they can.
Both groups can play however they like. Game is far from only in killer's control. Only one who is not in control are bad players and soloQ. But SWF is in equal position as the killer.

The maps are literally in the killer's favor with a power like this. Doesn't killer instinct activate when survivors enter the terror radius? Just hold W in a direction for 5 seconds and you'll probably see somebody.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3463409#Comment_3463409
Skill is largely irrelevant in this game for survivors. Once you learn the basics there really isn't much more to learn. You run at the same speed with no sprint ability. There are only pallets and vaults to use which are limited. The game is very basic. We don't exactly have a lot of options when in chase with the killer. Its really just run until you get downed or the killer chases someone else.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3463450#Comment_3463450
Killers can break pallets. Survivors cannot mend and are forced to endlessly move if chased with deep wounds or they will be forced into the dying state. What is the survivor supposed to do in this situation with having to deal with deep wounds that only goes away if you mend it? Its completely unfair that legion can abuse this power on a single survivor when its designed to help them find other survivors.
The maps are literally in the killer's favor with a power like this. Doesn't killer instinct activate when survivors enter the terror radius? Just hold W in a direction for 5 seconds and you'll probably see somebody.
Yeah, I would probably find someone, but there is no way I get to use my power on them in time. So why waste my time like that, when I can commit on that survivors instead?
-
When I hit someone in feral frenzy and don't hear any heartbeat, why would I not commit to that chase?
And people should really start thinking about using word "tunneling". It's so overused, same as genrushing.

Halloween was great! You did a gen for a short time, leave the gen to deposit, do the gen, deposit and you get your reward, regardless of game progression!
sure, I agree some action requirement would be enough, but if it was just find an invitation and die, you would have players dying on hook as soon they find it.
-
What happened? Almost everyone hated it.
Both basekit unbreakable and Mori system.

You would have tons of dying on hook instead, is it that better?

There's nothing more to add at the moment, as we are still monitoring feedback and keeping an eye on the perk and its effects on gameplay. If there is more to share regarding Made for This, our official platforms will be the best place to see it. Devs also cannot reply to everything, and at the risk of sounding like a broken bee, we do read everything.
All-seeing Mod could be next killer.

Gabriel is the 8th most used survivor on night light
that isn't even my experience he is literally just that high
why are you trying to dance around facts
"it could be different per region" he's still 8th
"it could be different for MMR" he's still 8th
"it could be a different time" he's still 8th
but that still doesn't have to mean everyone see him. He got to that spot because of players doing adept. Not because he is everyone's favorite survivor.
I am not trying to dance around facts. I am just saying, you don't know what hearsay is. That's a fact too.
-
Skull Merchant is awfull to play
why? She seems similar to Legion to me.
I can't argue on playing against, but I don't see an issue in playing her. She is just M1 killer.
-
Didn't really have an issue with it.
I actually like this anniversary mechanic on both sides. Wouldn't really mind if it was implemented as base mechanic. Expose effect on killers should be on like blood lust 3 or something. It is too strong imo, but I usually use it to break pallets.

This is a bar graph from my personal matches which is 65 matches as a survivor, the bars are to be ignored they are just the escape rates of each survivor, the lines is what shows you the number of survivors, and since I started recording these matches a week ago this data is very recent, and shows that I simply see Gabriel more than any other survivor in the game
why is this such a hard concept to understand these are quite literal statistics, it's not hearsay I didn't generalize, I DID see more Gabriels in this week than any other survivor
it's not subjective to whether you did or anyone else it's a fact
this is my sample size, these are the number of survs, if you aren't tracking your stats then everything you say is hearsay no? doesn't matter whether you think you "saw some" made for this is a popular perk because Gabriel is a popular survivor right now it's really that simple
you really should find definition of hearsay. I guess you have watched too much Johny Depp trial...
It doesn't matter even if you face Grabiel every other game. I am sure this is different for each region, MMR groups, time.
You can't really force your experience on others.
Btw if I say there is lot of Gabriels, because of your comments, that would be hearsay.

I actually played 50 matches and out of those 50 matches there were 22 Gabriels which is a pretty high yield especially since that number was higher than Feng and meg which are 2 of the most-played survivors in the game. So "I barely see Gabriel" isn't really gonna cut it right?
it means you see Gabriel, it doesn't mean he is playing against Gabriel.
I have seen some on release, but I don't remember last time I have seen anyone playing him.

You keep claiming things I never said to win an argument you yourself made up. I never said that I am the arbiter of what is balanced or not, I am questioning the outcry because its not the first time this community has made takes on a survivor perk based on math and theory that didn't play out like that. Like Hyperfocus was gonna make games end in less than 5 minutes, or Blood Rush was gonna extend chases a lot because everyone would have double sprintburst, yet neither of them see much play today.
If the perk performs too well then I trust the devs to see it reflect in their numbers and balance accordingly.
end in less than 5 minutes
well, you can end game under 5 minutes, but it's boring. So you don't see it often.
-
@bbqBilly said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3462396#Comment_3462396
If you think the devs balance things based on theory and simple math, then yeah I get why it confuses you
They sadly balance it by statistics, which is not really better and we got lot of weird changes.
This perk is oppresive and it's one of more picked perks.
You think your personal results decide if perk is good or not, it's highly subjective point of view, for each perk / killer you have players that don't have problem with it, so with your logic, there is no need to nerf anything and all nerfs should be reverted.
-
@bbqBilly said:
Weird how I am not losing every single game with this OP perk existing. Almost as if there are countless other variables in the game that make the math pointless.
With this logic it doesn't make sense why any killer / perk were nerfed.

1) freddy and also pig were and are good especially at lower ranks at which ppl don't know how to counter them too much yet. the kill rates published by bhvr count every mmr. even otzdarva has made this a topic in one of his videos once being a problem because this doesn't really reflect their actual ranking. addons basekit and general changes is exactly what i have said myself just like that the weaker killers have to be addressed (closing the gap towards strong killers). it's not about making those weak killers op, but rather closing the gap.
2) who do you think suggested the anti-face camping changes? i was one of the persons constantly writing bhvr about anti-camping and anti-tunneling changes that had to be added to the game and even made suggestions on how they should look like. i care more about equality than most players do.
3) i have never said to add ALL addons basekit. so it wouldn't be boring. that's the third time now that shows me you didn't read my post entirely or word by word. bhvr could remove all addons and keep brown addons which they could change in a certain way to give killers the ability for different playstyles. then they could buff killers generally partially by implementing some of the nerfed addons as basekit. also i was once again one of the persons who wrote to bhvr multiple times that double range on nurse is a huge problem. after multiple support tickets and months they have finally addressed it then. removing addons except for brown versions for variety and buffing those killers by default would make small tweaks to their power a piece of cake. simple changes like lunge speed, stalking speed, pallet breaking, recovery and all the important things could easily be changed killer by killer with small changes.
4) seems to be missing
5) time limited skins create fomo on ppl who aren't able to get them in time just like the skins in the game at the current event time. you would have to wait a whole year for the masquerade outfits just like the waterfront massacre outfits if you aren't able to get them now. if you are poor and you can't invest 100 € or more to get all the cosmetics at the moment you will have to wait a whole year until they are in the store again. some outfits from past rifts haven't even been added to the store yet just like nea's system smasher outfit from tome 5 unleashed collection for example. this cosmetic was in tome 5 that was in the game almost three full years ago now. this outfit still hasn't made it into the store yet. the never stop slashing outfit for legion is another one that was only added after ppl like me have complained many times to bhvr that they should finally add it.
6) once again who do you think suggested bots being added to the game? correct! me! i was one of the person who wrote to bhvr multiple times about bots that should be added to the game for ppl who constantly dc either on purpose or for reasons they can't control, but still leaving the rest of the team at a high disadvantage or ending the match entirely because it was the killer that had a dc. i can't even count how many times i have suggested bhvr should finally add bots.
7) exactly! losing pips serves no purpose at all and just causes frustration!
8) once again...you can already guess it right? i have also suggested changes to the meta because everybody was constantly using the same boring perks. it was getting boring and annoying at the same time. the changes to pain res were only partially good imo though. of course this change was needed to make it kinda unattractive, but only being able to use it 4 times a match makes it kinda useless just like dh. you have to be lucky on map rng to have good scourge hooks and good coordinated teams can even deny you getting these little 4 scourge hooks once they realized you have this perk.
self-care was okay to get nerfed, but not past 50 % healing. the 33 or 35 % it now has makes it totally trash and just one of the many useless perks. what do you think so many ppl used the "meta"? it's because those "meta" perks could be used in many different situations vs many different killers. you didn't have to take perks that only worked vs certain killers like dh for example. dh was a strong perk, but once u got an endurance status like from legions stab or deathslinger's shot it was useless. you can't heal with self-care anymore not even when the killer doesn't run sloppy butcher because it takes ages and ppl even proved how stupid this perk now is on the ptb when bhvr tested out general slower healing speed for survivors. it took like 1 to 2 minutes to heal yourself with self-care. who can sit at a spot healing themselves 1 or 2 minutes in a normal match? nobody!
dh was totally easy to counter post nerf by many killers. wraith's bell, freddy's dream snare, pyramidheads m2, demogorgon's shred, huntress'/trickster winding up animation, doctor's shock, clown's bottle switch animation...many killers had an animation to trick the survivors into swinging and therefore wasting their dh. at the beginning when dh was used for distance was a problem because it could extend a loop entirely, but even pre-nerf now it wasn't op. u can't use dh at windows or pallets because you just have to wait one second and if survivors don't vault or throw the pallet they are hit or wasted a pallet. if they carry an item you can even see if they want to dh when the item disappears...totally easy to counter. only when survivors fov tag you around a corner if you lost line of sight dh can still sometimes work. at all other times dh doesn't rly work especially now.
You believe they did those changes because of you? It's not like it was suggested b dozens of players, right?

strong SWF already understand every map to its wireframe and they already use clock call outs to know what part of the map they are in. The amount that it would buff swf is insignificant to amount it buff solo's.

whenever your playing killer, matches vs swf feel a lot more intense. I don't know what it is about those matches that feel so intense but it just feel different. what your describing is better gsme-sense and soloq should have same game-sense opportunity at base-kit.
Number of SWF that use clock callouts is really small.
Passive bond would get even average SWF to similar level. We don't really need that with current killer power level.

Well, this topic is not really complicated...
If I tunnel someone I am behind him since he was unhooked, who cares about hook counter at that point.
It might work against SWF with 4 same skins, but those deserve to get tunneled, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Every killer has their place! It's one of the trickest parts of design, in my opinion. You don't want to release a new chapter with perks no one will use, but you don't want to release a new chapter with perks that are too powerful. It's why the team is constantly monitoring player feedback, loadouts, and other information so things can be adjusted and maintained for overall game health. I can't speak for the whole team, but I play mostly Freddy. 😉
You really have to like Freddy's franchise...
-
@DrKetchup said:
Exactly! MFT brought back the old DH playstyle, play incredibly unsafe and greed everything, which the killer doesn't expect, then just hold W and in case the killer does predict your stupidly risky pathing you are still safe because of 3% so you have enough time to get to a safe spot.
You can combine it with Iron Will, then killer can't even tell you left if loop is tall enough.

If you have 100% BP bonus on survivors, then there is not enough survivors. Didn't you mean killer?
For me it's afternoon 100% BP for survivors and since like 8 PM it's 100% for killers.

That is why killer buffs are very explicitly suggested as well
They would have to do all that in single patch.
It's not simple as core killer changes.
There would need to be some core changes, but you can't overdo it, because of top tier killers.
Then you have map changes and tons of specific killer changes.
There is simply no way they are able to do it on single patch.
Only game I know who is capable of such massive patch is Dota, but they are simply way better at this than BHVR.

Most of those suggestions are pretty much solved by the activity HUD, I think something like basekit bond would be fair to be able to find your teammates to heal up for example, to counter hit and run and camping much easier
Passive bond is massive buff.
Survivors would feel way better for sure, but killers would struggle a lot.
Problem is passive bond is buff for SWF too, it's not just soloQ buff.
SWF would also get more value out of this. It would make callouts so much easier.

I'm just saying this behaviour has nothing to do with made for this. You could buff killer to 80% killrate and people would still tunnel and camp etc.
Tunneling won't be fixed with killer specific changes. You need core gameplay incestives. Nerfing every other playstyle is not going to help for sure.
Least tunneling was during BBQ, pop, ruin meta. Killers had to leave hook and wanted focus different survivors.

You're playing Legion... you didn't really have a chance against the Survivors who knew how to hard counter Legion BEFORE MFT was released. Why would things be any different now? Obviously it isn't a comp-worthy build, Legion isn't even a comp-worthy Killer.
The build seeks only to negate Legion's need to chase (and thus ignore MFT), by using the Oblivious status to catch Survivors off-guard. There isn't really much more to say there, because Legion is universally understood to have low lethality. They can pub-stomp noobs, and thats about all anyone should expect out of them.
Doctor is definitely one of, if not the biggest loser from MFT. I think anyone trying to play him without running Calm + M&A is a masochist. He'll definitely need a buff if MFT and other Haste perks stay as is. Hard to say if increasing his animation speeds will be sufficient, or if he'd need something more significant.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3461910#Comment_3461910
Okay, now this is just ad hominem.
Its dumbfounding how I can articulate gameplay strategy to you, and the best you can come back with is "Dunning-Kruger."
If you applied any of the information I've provided to you, you wouldn't sit on the forums complaining about how difficult this game is. Unfathomable, really, that you would blow off the advice of someone who doesn't struggle with MFT on account of "I don't believe that someone doesn't struggle with MFT, therefore you must be lying."
You do not want to better yourself in this game. Please, just say it.
You want the developers to do all the winning for you, by nerfing anything that proves mildly challenging to you, because you cannot be bothered to improve yourself.
Sure, I wouldn't complain about losing as Legion. Good survivors who know how to counter him are hell. If they take hits in mending state, they can completely deny my power.
But simply staying injured is not really difficult and MFT, resilience makes that strategy even easier.
You don't need to be that good for it.
Histeria works only if you injure them, which is highly limited. You basically give survivors more reason to stay injured and counter your power.
As long MFT is a thing, Legion and skull merchant basically have no chance to actively chase survivors, it's going to waste too much time.
So only counter is either tunnel someone out of the game fast, or hold 3-gen.
Both Legion and Merchant are good at holding 3-gen, issue is BHVR already said they are going to make changes against 3-gen, so I don't know how long it will work. But there will be simply more tunneling because of that.
On reality I don't think MFT is that strong alone, but in correct build it is meta perk for sure.
I still consider am issue that most affected killers are weak already, they don't really need to get even worse because of meta perk.
MFT for me is an equivalent of Eruption. Perk wasn't that good compare to others, but it was mainly soloQ stomper, which is not good thing imo. Same for MFT.

I faced a Legion who wanted the 4k no matter what. When I asked why they do this during an event they said "I just care about winning and points". They had 50k BP multiplied by 535% while one survivor had less than 15k (got tunneled out) and only one of us had over 30k.
Both sides tryhard for personal benefits.
Survivors gen rush for invitations and probably for BP too.
Killers tunnel for more BP. That's why lot of people play them, because of that 100% BP bonus on killers (mainly evening).

How is it a paradox? This discussion has not concerned itself in any way, shape, or form with what is fun or enjoyable.
You are either over-simplifying my advice, or failing to recognize the viable strategies a Killer can employ beyond the realm of "hold W and follow a Survivor until Killer A traveling at X speed manages to catch Survivor B traveling at Y speed." Hence my belief that there is a skill issue at play here.
You want my advice for how to play your mains?
Legion
Add-Ons: Etched Ruler & Legion Pin (alt. Defaced Smiley Pin or Stab Wounds)
Perks: Hysteria, Genetic Limits, & your choice of 2 perks
Win Condition: Take advantage of LOS blockers and misdirection to leverage the Oblivious status effect, and down unsuspecting Survivors when they believe you are not nearby. DO NOT commit to chase unless all Survivors are injured, you can quickly force pallet drops, or you have lethal frenzy.
Wraith
Add-Ons: Windstorm & Boneclapper (alt. Coxcombed Clapper, Swift Hunt, or All Seeing)
Perks: Fearmonger, Sloppy Butcher*, Nurse's, & perk of your choice
*Can replace Sloppy with Blind Warrior Add-On
Win Condition: Hit N' Run early game, unless you know you can down someone quickly--conditioning the Survivors to believe you leave just as soon as you appear. Mid-to-late game injure survivors, cloak, then stay nearby and ambush them when they drop guard. DO NOT commit to any chase that won't result in destroying a god pallet or a quick down.
SM & Knight
I can't advise you on either of these two killers, as I played both to adept and then never again. From what I know about them, however, they aren't chase Killers so they don't really concern themselves with MFT. They both have Haste add-ons, which I assume are must picks already.
Ghost Face, Myers, and Oni are my mains. I truly believe all 3 of them have been buffed by all of the changes/updates that have been put out this past year. Ghost Face especially, considering he just received a literal buff--Killer has never been easier for GF.
These aren't "the best Killers" by any means, but they all have things in their kit that allow them to bypass MFT.
That Legion build is really bad. Neither of those perks work if survivors won't heal, which is how they should play against Legion. So not only I lose most of my power, but also play with 2 perks.
Wraith: nurses calling and sloppy are generic, so it will work for sure. Fearmonger is kinda meh, but it can work to actually counter SB against sneak attacks.
I don't really have problem with Wraith tho, I just go for hit&run and most survivors can't handle it.
Probably most affected for me are Legion, Skull merchant and Doctor.
Legion and Skull merchant have low lethality, but both of them have good 3-gen, which is going to get nerfed in future.
Doctor is really bad now. You get slow downed quite a lot with your power, so MFT is even better.

How else are they supposed to get masks? They have to reach endgame which actually requires work, this isn't from toxicity it's literally because of the conditions the devs put on for survivors to get masks and killers sweating like crazy.
Playing normally barely yields results for survs, so gen rushing is the only viable option
Sure and killers need to get hooks/kills for more BP.
Tunneling is good way how to achieve that.
Just because they brought 4x BNP I am supposed to let them leave or what?
If they want to tryhard, so can I.
