  • The problem w nurse imo is not how she, and her mechanics, affect survivors but rather how she affects other killers. Like the devs will never be able to create another killer w new perks without thinking “this is good, but would this perk be op on nurse tho?”. Every other killer follows the games dynamics (pallets, windows, mindgames etc) except for her and because of that other killers are not allowed to have better usage of certain perks or builds. That’s just sad

  • Yeah bro I know the feel. i only play ghostface and the matches are always inconsistent like that. There rarely middle ground and I don’t understand what happens like ??? One game u get the sweatiest and barely get any kills and the next u get potato survivors who crouch walk everywhere its a mess. When I play surv this happens as well

  • Because its either that or the dc penalty. What do you think is more favorable?

besides, its also a tool that can be used when there only 2 left and say 4-5 gens still. That way u can give ur teammate a chance to get the hatch before the killer finds them.

  • @Lastchild said:

A balanced killer is a killer that is worth viable to play the player killer without requiring additional modules that must be really interesting and bonuses and not infernally hard to counter and stand by the survivors players.

So the trapper should be buff in this way to me :

     Base Kit :

10 traps are placed in front of windows and pallets on the entire map.

The trapper always have these two basic traps.

All traps placed will reset every 25 seconds.

     There.

That way you have a good viable and playable trapper without add-ons (it would rework based on the idea presented) and survivors can always counter it but feel pressure to survive and have fun all the same rather than stay chill on a generator.

Nah. That would make him a brainless Killer. The whole point of trapper is being smart where you place them. If 10 would already be around windows and pallets you would get survivors based on Luck not skill

  • As far as I know thats how it is. Ur supposed to solve the puzzle before the chain hunt starts

Holy #########! I never knew that, been playing this damned game for so long and I am still learning new things

Yeah I love using them and thats true, I only recently learned that if ur really close it blinds u and the killer all the same. One thing I advise u tho, if u hear them dropping just turn around and stop, most times i miss the flashbang is when killers do this

I've played a bunch of legion since their buff and I gotta say.... they went from bottom tier to maybe ok. Even with his best add ons, the teams I'm going against know exactly what to do. The only time I've ever destroyed teams were from major mistakes on the survivor side of things.

I've also completely stopped going agaisnt them as survivor by like day 3. I have gone against, I believe, 1 legion in the last week and she got 1 hook.

Because they dont know how to counter him. I too think Legion is just ok a lil more annoying than before but thats about it.

Other than the eye test (which is really limiting because you only see other solo teammates briefly), there is no way to reliably gauge the skill of other players. Being iri 1 doesn't mean nothing, but damn near. Grade is an indicator of time played, and time played is often a corollary of skill, but some of the worst players I've gone again in recent months have been iri 1. I have absolutely steamrolled teams of all iri 1's and 2's (who played like babies), but been rinsed by teams all in bronze/silver.

Any potato with enough free time can hit iri 1. A good player can get there quickly, but there's no way of knowing one from the other.

Which is why BHVR chose to hide grade; people were getting worked up about the grade of their matched teammates when it really isn't indicative of much. That was probably for the best.

I mean it's kind of stupid to even have a grade system that is independent of actual matchmaking criteria, but that's another discussion. I'm sure with time and effort BHVR could create a system that used measurable criteria to gauge skill, but have chosen not to.

True that. Funny thing tho the best soloq team I got was of silver IIIs. The thing I dont get is, why have this system at all tho. It just confuses us and results in terrible matches

  • @Bartlaus said:

I don't know about you, but this week my killer match making is not working as intended.

As I've already mentioned in other threads, I've been playing as a killer very relaxed for quite some years because I don't wanna sweat to win. I want chilled casual games. Since I don't care about the count of kills, I hardly ever camp or tunnel. I think having a good match with exciting chases is the real win for me.

When MM was still based on the old ranks, I preferred to play in the green and purple ranks because I simply had the best matches there. Relaxed survivor and less toxicity. So with the new MMR I made sure not to kill more than 2 survivors. This has worked quite well for me so far. My opponents weren't noobs, but they weren't hardcore Chuck Norris-Death-Squads either. They were somewhere in between. Gens are always made quick, but at least I always have the chance to get 1-2 kills in a relaxed way (without camping, tunneling and extreme gen defense).

What has changed now? Well, I've only had to play against the A-Team for the last few days. People who just seem to want to break their gen rush record. Some were very toxic and they definitely knew what they were doing. They always played with the best perks and I had some 3-4 SWFs. I thought the first 5 matches would be no problem, there will be chilled rounds again. I haven't gotten more than one kill in 20 matches now. It also doesn't matter if I play killers that I'm very good or very bad with. These people I can only beat when I specifically camp and tunnel and also play the strongest add ons and perks. But I refuse to do that.

Btw my Solo Q experience still hasn't changed. I can survive 10 matches in a row and still get matched with unexperienced survivors.

So my question to the devs would be if the MMR for killers is still kill based and am I just unlucky?

    Have you had similar experiences?

Yuuuup. I main GF and more often than not I get SWF so sweaty my tv leaks. But when I play survivor I keep getting paired w/ lvl 8 Bills or DCs Dwights. Its getting annoying

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939986#Comment_2939986

Well I said, not often, but occasionally. Maybe if they got a stack of condemned when you hit them that'd help speed things along.

Yup that would be nice. Condemned should put more pressure i think

  • @Viskod said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939955#Comment_2939955

What do you mean in a "real" match? I've gotten them before. One time I got two. Its not often but it occasionally happens. I don't think it needs to be buffed too much, since its a kill that doesn't require the survivor to have been hooked previously. But it does need to be buffed so that survivors feel some actual pressure to keep their ring from turning red.

I also think if it turns red, you shouldn't be able to get rid of it. Red is dead.

i gotten 2 before as well but Im pretty sure the survivors didn’t know how sadako works, cause one of them held on to the tape for so long I moried him on the spot. And the other was a level 12 Bill lmao by real match I mean, when a survivor is more experienced they simply let it get 4-5 condemned and then insert the tape. I do that myself, so even with the right add ons, which are not that great either, its pretty uncommon to see someone get full condemned. I dunno about u tho haha

  • @Wulfasger said:

Condemned process is a joke, it doesnt do anything unless you are 2 killers and another one is Trapper so he traps the last 3 gens to make the game 55+mins so you can fullfill your condemned. She is basically just demogorgon but uses TVs instead of a butthole, and you cant even place them where ever you want.

Bruh condemned is so weak, no survivor in a real match would ever let it get full “condemned” its a full joke. Idk hat they were thinking

It isn't a guaranteed loss unless the survivors are just plain bad. Are you a sport enthusiast or something?

And how can u tell? This sbmmr is so bad im “iridescent i” and I get soloqd with neas with 8 hours on their belt. How can u say its not a guaranteed loss if the matchmaking seems random

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939361#Comment_2939361

Well sadly the sbmmr is just like the Victory Cube. Which guaranteed a pip if the killer got 2 kills + 1 hook but was a depip if a killer got 8 hooks with no kill.

The system simply valued camping killers over more skilled killers.

Thats bad design and lazyness. Incentivize cheap tactics instead of creating a functional system

Also this, @Barbarossa2020 didn't approve or defend your use of slang but just advised the other forum user to not risk their account getting punished over this. 😂

People make even fun of it later in this thread by parodying it.

And yes, while you can do as you please, i very well am above degrading my wording or behaviour just because I am anonymous in the internet. A lone "lol" here and there is okay but your excessive use of it is just cringeworthy in my eyes.

But hey, i am just another anonymous guy in the internet and you don't have to mind my opinion in any way, "bro".

There are 8 in total. 5 is the amount of gens survivors have to repair in order to power the gates.

So again, why not go for the fresh gen?

If there are more than 1 yes I do. If theres one there is no point haha. Besides when I play killer having a survivor camping a gen is a pro cause I know they’re bound to come back, they cant help it, so more often than not survivors camping a gen is a guaranteed hit at least. Why would that be a bad thing? U patrol, u chase, u put pressure elsewhere then comeback to that gen

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939281#Comment_2939281

I play solo all the time. I see protection hits and coordination even among solo players. Maybe its a sbmmr thing, that you only see survivors scared to unhook someone.

Thats why I said your experiences are not universal. MM is trash either way

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939262#Comment_2939262

Then why do you consider camping killers bad? Following your logic, survivors get a guaranteed protection hit.

Bro ur experiences are not universal lmao protection hit? That 90% of the time only works in SWF scenarios. Most lobbies I get survivors are scared to unhook someone if the killers terror radius is still audible. If a killer face camps he potentially gets the whole team. If a survivor camps a gen u just kick it like ???? As I said its a false symmetry

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Lightborn, maybe mad grit and something to slowdown their gen progress. But since I main Ghostface ill probably get frustrated by the end of it lol all in all just try to make some good Bloodpoints, cause in the end thats all u get after the match ends

You seem under the assumption, that i support camping. But honestly, as far as complaints go, if the killer is on the map, then hes "camping". At least thats what most camping complaints can be boiled down to.

Survivors camp just as much as killers do. But when killers do it, then its scummy.

You tell me. If there is a gen at 90% and regressing. Do you leave it or do you wait for the killer to leave, so you can complete it?

what? Bro what else will survivors do if not gens? Thats their objective lmao killers objective is SurvivorS, plural, not the one on the hook like ??? Whats ur point

  • @friendlyant1 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2938326#Comment_2938326

Your comment is valid 100%! I play killer and survivor equally and I’ve seen time and time again that tunneling and camping are very good strategies to almost guarantee a “win” (at least 3K)

id never blame the players for doing what they need to do to win. However, I do believe the devs should do something to mitigate that to help the health of the game. It sucks being on the receiving end and getting tunneled or camped several games in a row.

Same here. Most of the time survivors leave the last 3 gens side by side and expect us not to patrol the last gens?

And so are the SWF lol if everybody had fairplay spirit no one would complain and yet here we are

  • Tried playing her for a while, cause I like the moviea lot, but shes pretty weak. I mean her power is just ok and u can sevure some wins, but against good survivors and swf, its kinda frustrating playing her

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939192#Comment_2939192

As i said, those perks are meta. No one forces survivors to use them. Yet, everyone uses them. Not because they are scared of face campers. Just because they allow for save rescues no matter what.

As I said, theres a dif between “META” and “Bad game design”. Thats what u dont get man. If everybody’s using it, isnt it weird to you? With so many perks everyone DHding and BTming all the time. Thats bad game design thats not Meta. I wanna play with different perks, not being locked to a box of a handful of the same perks

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939182#Comment_2939182

Why not? You can unhook, the unhooked survivor gets protected by BT and DS. Which are both meta perks and omnipresent in every match. So its not like survivors would have to adapt their build or something.

If I HAVE to go every match with BT its not “META” its a crutch, its bad game design. No survivor should enter a match thinking “oh boy what if this Killer face camp the whole game that one survivor”. And no Killer should go thinking “oh man, am I gonna get bullied by some SWF today?”. These only represent things that must change bro.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939172#Comment_2939172

But you do realize, that unhooking a survivor is now possible. Doesn´t matter where the killer stands, its still possible, yes?

Yes. But does it solve the actual functional face camp as you said it did? No

But survivors have the tools to rescue a teammate against a face camping killer. Its even possible against Bubba (even though really hard to pull off). I´ve seen it with my own eyes.

Sure. But for that to happen you need to choose these tools or perks beforehand. Which is not possible in game. How do you pull that off in soloq? Where some survivors barely know how to loop around a pallet

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939163#Comment_2939163

Originally, face camping was the killer stand in a fixed position in front of the hook. Which wouldn´t survivors allow to unhook, because there wouldn´t appear the "hold m1 to unhook" promt.

This changed with the introduction of swivel hooks. Survivors could unhook from every angle (ironically, killers still can only hook from the fixed angle).

Face camping was solved with this. Now the term refers to the killer being withing terror radius distance.

Really? Bro face camping is face camping if it was or was not considered that beacause of a technicality or terminology doesn’t change what it is. Therefore it was not fixed as you said

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939158#Comment_2939158

And if you want to base your arguement on cod im pretty sure that was the series that made spawn camping so popular

thats why they implemented mechanisms to prevent that in following games/patches. How do u say it was intended to have campers then? If it was intended no such thing would exist

  • @Knytrix said:

So the whole thing was you disagreed that camping isnt in shooter with a cod reference. Go to google and type in fps camping and you will find a 1,000 articles about it since the launch of fps games so not sure why you argued about it.

looool what game are u talking about gramps cause I dont know how old u think u are but I been playing since dial up my guy dont talk about snipers to me. Cause unless u talking about huge siege maps ur way out ur lane. I dont think they apply here at all

  • @Knytrix said:

Gens fly to fast and circle of healing the game is pushing everyone to camp/tunnel get to max level killer and see for yourself.

Literally every shooter game with online options have campers, what do you think a sniper is.

Have u ever played an fps? Every single CoD MP highlights players who stand still in the same spot lmao they literally show where u are to everyone in the lobby if u stay in the same position for more than 2mins

  • Oh yeah, that’s exactly what the devs say “hey killers just wait here the whole game in front of this hook”. Thats why they show all these other mechanics right?

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2939107#Comment_2939107

    It depends, a lot.

If the Killer found a good 3-Gen, why leave?

Thats not camping bro, that’s patrolling thats playing smart. Ig the survivors were dumb enough to leave the last 3 gens side by side thats on them. Im talking about putting a single survivor on hook and watching him die and nothing else the whole match

  • @Tsulan said:

Camping has been a intended game mechanic from the very beginning. Nothing changed in that regard.

The only thing that changed, was how efficient survivors became with doing gens. Losing 2 or 3 gens during the first chase isn't uncommon. So the killer feels like he has to camp in order to secure 1 kill.

Just equip BT and go for the rescue or finish the last gens and get out.

no game ever has made camping a mechanic bro lol if camping was supposed to be a mechanic bloodlust wouldn’t be a thing. Besides u missed the point. Im talking about the experience, theres no fun in just bullying the killer w BT and leaving without a single chase like ??? Empty win

  • @OpenX said:

Well I just got out of a match where the survivors did 4 gens in under 3.5 minutes when I was Demo. I got 1 pop proc off and the survivors instantly unhooked so I was not able to walk 10 seconds away to use my MYC.

Then the TTV I was against was like "wow I can't believe he is camping" and "wow I can't believe he is slugging, why do you want the game to be over so fast?!!?"

And that was a bigger facepalm than anything I have heard in a long, long time. "Just let us finish the gens in 4 minutes and run every second chance perk in the book and camp like god 3 pallets and win the game, dude. Quit being so toxic!"

Those kinds of lobbies you have to tunnel someone to death and then slug the last 3, which is what I did.

U missed the point my guy lmao yes u had to slug so? What Im saying is face camping is not fun nor efficient for anyone, Killer included. Like u get minimal bloodpoints and the match turns into fixing sim for survivors and watching sim for Killer. U do what u have to do. But “nothing” is a bit much

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    "How dare people play efficiently"
