If the game wasn't fun, it would have died out already. Despite all these doom and gloom complaints, the game isn't dying and has manage to keep a stable playerbase over the years.
-
You can't really prevent camping with how the game is currently designed. Hooks are an objective for survivors as they must rescue their teammate or let them die. The nature of this means that the killer should always be able to punish survivors who take too long to go for the rescue to force out a hook state or even a sacrifice.
The devs would have to balance the game around hooked survivors naturally respawning without other survivor input if they wanted to remove camping which wouldn't necessarily lead to a better game itself.
-
Give it a bit longer. 6.1.0 had a similar effect where people dropped dead hard and had to adjust to not using dead hard. Though eventually people realized that an on-demand 3rd health state is still pretty good which caused it to get nerfed again.
-
Keys have an addon to see the killer's aura.
There's also one to always see the obsession's aura passively.

They said this to billy before, look what they done to him.
tbf, people had an issue with Billy's charge addons. People really only wanted the charge addons changed.
Oni also had a similiar addon that halved the charge time for his dash and the devs at least only nerfed it.
-
It's very important for the devs to nerf things that are way too strong otherwise the game becomes a stale mess. Well it is a stale mess, but at least the devs are showing they will change things.

I'm not sure if you're asking me a genuine question or if it's rhetorical, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. The idea was to solve the problem of sweaty killers hooking a survivor(s) instantly at the start of a match. I thought that was obvious? As I already stated, it could be a boon totem that you need to be in its range... There's so many different angles you could look at this but everyone seems to think it must result in what you say mandatory sluggings etc, think out of the box. It was an idea, that can be extrapolated not just shut down and taken to the extreme.45% was just a number I threw out there, it could be 60 or whatever. All you negative Nancy's don't bring anything constructive to the discussion and that is really what is sad.
Hooking survivors is the killer's main way to push their objective forward. I'm not sure why you deem this an issue.
-
Lethal and Corrupt do different things.
Lethal is good for getting into that first chase whereas Corrupt is good giving you some breathing room from gens being started (outside of times where survivors spawn on unblocked gens anyways).
Corrupt is still better on set up killers like Trapper or Hag who don't really want to get into a first chase quickly.

You don't need callouts to mindgame her or even be in a SWF. Mind gaming a nurse just takes the player's own personal skills and not a team.
Her biggest weakness is guessing where the Survivor will go in a chase and if the Survivor does a common route and don't change it up then she will easily get a down. If the Survivor makes random changes when she is "blind" to where the Survivor is then looping her is easier and will aid in a escape.
I just had a 3-man escape against this nurse. People really overrate how easy she is.

I can’t screen record on a switch sadly
If you do want to screen record gameplay off the switch, you just need to get a capture card. Depending on the card you either can record via software for the capture card or through OBS.

It's beginner friendly perk. Great for learning loops.
I wouldn't really call it meta perk tho.
It's kinda like Nurse with lowest kill rate.
Nice info, but not really valid, because there is a reason for it.
It's definitely not just useful for learning loops. Main buildings often have different layouts and being able to see which layout while being chased is very useful. Not to mention it keeps you from running into dead zones where survivors have already thrown pallets that are now destroyed.
-
It's a bit of a shame they didn't try to create some new addons for medkits.

You probably missed the point. Of course there are complainers from both sides, but from killer side it ten times more, like "OMG, I was killing everyone and got to top MMR, now they dare to wipe floor with me, nerf survivors". Maybe I'm so lucky, but I constantly see complaints how hard killer life is.
I intentionally don't mix it with camping/tunneling threads, because it's just unhealthy exploit to game design in general, not one side.
But the MAIN THING is that in my fantasy land, I almost never lose as the killer and almost always as survivor. Fact is fact, that's why crying about killer hardship is something like flat-earth or santa-claus to me.
Of course, I cannot say what would happen if magically camping and tunneling (killer experience wouldn't change, but as survivor there could be major increase in victories), but for today, I have what I have. And 8 hooks (probably 8 stages) at 5 gens is very frequent scenario.
If you ignore all the posts complaining about killers, then yes.
-
I feel like people always say this whenever anything that forces the meta to change. Hard to tell what will end up being the meta only 2 days in.
-
While DBD isn't a scary game, it's still a game focus around horror elements. While chapters don't have to be pure-horror, there should be some kind of horror theme to them. A good example would be Trickster. His lore is very horror related, but most people will see him a JPop star.
-
Depends on what do you mean by casual? If you're just playing to have fun and not looking for any specific outcome, that should still be possible.
-
Not really.
I've been playing the game since like 2018 or 2019 and honestly even after 4 years the game hasn't changed that much. The core gameplay loop is still the same with the same issues that tunneling is the best strategy by a mile. Doesn't help the devs often nerf perks that help killers to not tunnel due to stats.
Past year or so, I've played much less because frankly as much as I enjoy the game, it's very stale. New killers are hit or miss. New perks are often very weak with a few that have the possibility to even see regular use let alone become meta.
As for youtubers calling "game breaking updates". That's an exaggeration for views. Even if the changes for 6.7.0 are bigger than usual, they are still pretty tame.

I don't know what fantasy land you're talking about. Every time a killer player makes a thread complaining about how hard the game is, they receive nothing but an entire parade of "skill issue" and "git gud" and "quit playing".
People are often very selective about the feedback they read. It happens all the time on the forum.
Survivors complain that only killers cry for nerfs despite the topics about tunneling, camping, or whatever the meta killer perk is.
Killers complain that only survivors cry for nerfs despite the topics about dead hard, gen rush, or whatever the meta survivor perk is.
-
It's a shame the devs went back on the safe unhooks to get Dead Hard and just made it a weak anti-tunnel perk that benefits you more if the killer doesn't tunnel.

In my experience with reactive healing, if I'm not healing when the killer hits another person, heamorrhage notifies the killer like I stop healing of fail a skillcheck
There's no notification for Hemorrhage happening on the killer's end.

Bro she’s easy to play just accept it you have about 2 days playing her and you are already a pro if I wanted easy 4ks i would play nurse but I don’t cause what’s the fun in easy wins if you can’t play nurse just say no judgement here
Nurse can be easy to play while still being harder to play than the rest of the killers. You just want to refuse to accept that Nurse is still one of the hardest killers in the game, because accepting that would mean the premise of your topic falls apart.

i misread no need to get your panties in a twist my friend and she’s not hard she’s more of a medium killer tbh I can play her very well I just don’t like playing her cause it’s not fun and very very boring
She's definitely not a medium difficulty killer as very few killers really compete against her for difficulty. Being one of the hardest killers to play in the game isn't the deal you are making it out to be, because frankly DBD isn't a difficult game overall.

if you are gonna be lippy on a forum why comment go bother someone who can be bothered with it cause it’s just cringe
Why don't you read people's post first before commenting then?
Nurse has a high skill floor, so calling her ceiling low is being intentionally deceptive. Nurse regardless how you feel about it is still one of the harder killers in the game to play. This is because of the nature of her needing to actually land power hits compared to other killers who naturally move faster than survivors and therefore don't need to use their power for hits.

Thank you people saying the nurse has a high skill ceiling can’t be serious and i didn’t mention I play killer but I like survivor more
I said high skill floor. You people should actually read first.
-
Saying Nurse has a low skill ceiling is pretty deceptive when her skill floor is the highest in the game. Like sure mastering a nurse is easier than mastering killers like Blight and Artist, but she's still a harder killer to play than both of them.

Well, this problem has been there since the 6.1.0 update. Killers now tunnel and camp more because is a "strategy"
If a strategy makes another player not being able to play the game, is an issue. And the worst thing is killer mock because "hahaha no dh, now I can tunnel in peace". They don't want to win, they want to make the other team miserable, and the game allows that
The whole point of the killer role is to make survivors no longer able to play the game.
-
Sounds like you just don't enjoy the game

I play 50/50 … Yesterday I found this game playable as both, today I don’t.
If I just wanted to ‘win’ most of the time now, I would just kill.
And the only nerfs are COB and PR, and let’s face it, 4 goes of PR will do.
COB, hardly a loss.
Like is say, if it doesn’t feel ‘fair’, people won’t play…
You're idea of "fairness" is to nerf everything killers have and run all the killers out of the game.
-
You want the killer to have to slug every survivor on the ground for over 2 minutes before they can be hooked. You're just going to create a meta of killers running slugging builds and that's not going to be very fun for anyone.

That limitation is going to stop a lot of people from running DH. That said, it's still usable if you want to gamble that you'll still get value out of it. CoH isn't dead, but it lost much of its bite.
The nerfs to killers/slowdown is a lot clearer, for sure. As of now, there's barely a slowdown meta left. We'll have to see what follows, but I generally feel like this update is relatively even handed, as far as updates go.
Survivors got a lot of the nerfs held back from the ptb so I would certainly say in the context of this patch, survivors got pampered.

I would read my post again. I am aware of Aura cancelling perks, but some people play casually and won’t ever have a full perk rack.
More notably, I didn’t say nerf anything, I couldn’t care less if COB or PR stayed as-was. My issue is the complete slam in healing. Camping and Tunnelling has already returned to nearly every game I have played this evening.
The point is, if it becomes a chore to play, people (including me), won’t.
Camping and Tunneling are happening more, because killer regression perks got nuked. I'm sorry if you aren't enjoying the game more, but killers are trying to play as well. At some point you have to realize that asking for everything killers have access to, to be nerfed is only going to cause you to face the least fun tactics, because killers have no other options.
-
Dead Hard and CoH are hardly dead perks. Dead Hard is just as strong as before, just limited. CoH massively buffs healing speeds on other survivors.
Whereas CoB and Overcharge got hard nerfs with no real upside to them.
It's definitely not killers the one getting pampered.

Why don’t you take the point instead of being snippy?
It’s very clear the player is saying either Aura is unbalanced or the skill level isn’t matched.
Not every player of this game lives and breathes it. Some play casually for fun, but it does have to be that; fun.
Feel free to dismount your high horse.
Distortion is a perk that blocks auras. At this point, you guys are just asking for everything that killers have to be nerfed because it's not fun to lose a game.
-
The killer isn't tunneling you, because they found you 5 seconds into the game. Do you want the killer to wait 30 seconds or something arbitrary?
-
I personally hate range limits deactivating stuff. Things like Artist not being able to put crows nearby hooks to immediately scout after a hook helps add towards my frustration of playing her. So I don't see this as being a good change.
Dead Hard got a limit and for a perk that is an on demand health state, it needed one.
-
Same thing happened 6.1.0. A lot of survivors don't like their stuff getting nerfed and throw a fit when it does.
-

I wouldn't object to flashlights somehow working on the Nurse and Blight to reduce their potency. But Wraith and Hag vs a flashlight squad felt a little unfair and I would lobby dodge.
Nurse still can't blink while blinded and I believe Blight can't dash while blinded either. Being blinded already turn off the ability for a lot of killers to use their powers.
There's just no shine a flashlight a killer and get a free stun anymore.

Myers basekit is weak and outdated. Very addon reliant. And normal Myers players don't use TS. To say that he doesn't deserve a tiny buff because of 2 addons is ridiculous. Blight also got many QoL updates and still has his broken 4 addons and is a lot stronger than Myers too.
A basic tip against any Myers: don't let him see you. Don't tbag or similar. And hop in lockers once he hits EWIII.
The addons existing are exactly why you can't just buff Myers. Even Blight's strongest addons don't allow him to kill a survivor from healthy who has never been hit or hooked.
Also Myers can still stalk your teammates then kill you with TS, so saying "don't be seen" isn't that helpful of advice either.

I mean, again, it's Quality of Life. Which means you can play perfectly well without it, it's not needed, but it is nice to have. I know, such a shockingly new concept.
I do think there are far more important things, like actually buffing Myers to be a better Killer, but overall I see no point in protesting this change, it does not hinder Myers, it barely changes how he plays, it's just nice to have.
You say it's a QoL, but it's still a buff and as long as Myers has the tombstone addons, I don't think he needs any kind of buff. Same thing for Ghostface, if Ghostface didn't have to control/manage their own 99 and could just press a but to 100% anyone he currently had revealed, that would be a huge buff to Ghostface as there is no longer a risk of popping it too early.

You do realize that I have a vision-impairment that makes red very difficult for me to see right?
Sometimes it can be difficult for me to distinguish the red power-gage from the environment, so I basically have to fight with the camera just to see what progress I have, which can completely take-away from the chase and mess things up completely.
So please, so not jump to conclusions of "it's a skill issue" when it is something that is inherently out of my control (DBD's color-blind settings do not help much, trust me, Ive tried).
Plus again, it's free Quality of Life, I dont see the point in not wanting free Quality of Life.
There should be more options for changing HUD colors so people with color vision issues can adjust their HUD to their liking.
I don't think Myers needs this change the way he currently is.
-
The problem with trying to ban hook suicides is how to determine what is a suicide and what counts as early?
If you only check the first person hooked, then you just get a situation where people still suicide on 2nd hook and after while also leaving the chance that if the survivors play badly and all get slugged after the first hook and first guy tries a last ditch attempt to unhook themselves, if they die they'll get punished.
You would have to build a system with tons of exceptions and there's bound to be some way to still exploit it. At least with the dc penalty it's a simple check and to help prevent over punishing people who have a legit issue causing them to disconnect, the early timers are really short.

It's an achievement that requires survivors to cooperate in order for you to get it. Hopping in a locker against a Myers who's clearly going for this is achievement is about trying to deny them the achievement, not trying to survive.
It's hardly a broken addon, anyway. The amount of time required to get it going combined with its speed penalty makes it useless for anything but getting the achievement.
Just because it takes long to go online does not mean it's not a broken addon. Broken is not the same as overpowered.
And I've ran into people running Judith and tuft of fur while already having the achievement. So no bringing those addons to the game does not mean the survivors have to give you kills.
-
@ReikoMori said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3399143#Comment_3399143
That's not an equivalent comparison.
Tombstone requires a considerable time investment that can cost Myers the game. It's a gamble and even more so when you don't use tuft of hair to have infinite tier 3 which is a near assured throw. OG moris require no more time investment than a standard chase. There was no build up, no risk reward and I don't get why people make this comparison knowing that.
Actually broken addons are things like multi blink addons from Nurse, Spirit's old addons, etc. Stuff that legit makes dealing with the killer unstoppable. Myers on the other hand is very stoppable considering unless you're just feeding him stalk you can play and entire game and stand a good chance of winning.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3399142#Comment_3399142
Final Judgement and Stare kills that fully in the control of the survivors. You will almost never get either of them to happen and they are built into their powers.
Broken is the not same as OP.
Something can be broken while still being underpowered.

You do realize how long it takes to get to tier three with both ultra rares right? It takes forever. That's why it isn't broken. Tombstone Piece is much easier to get off.
How long it takes does not matter. They are not healthy addons for the game. Arguably they weren't healthy when they were released either, but you had things like 3+ Blink Nurse and Omega Blink nurse and old moris that the tombstone piece weren't the biggest issues.

Sadako and pyramid head can kill with out add on so?
I mean when I trying for the achievement I still hook survivors hope they don't kill them self on hook before I get to 3
not that unhealthy for the game when survivors can easily get all gens done before I can get EW3
sounds like all survivors want easy fix gen sim with 3 hook states so they can escape with they friends every match.
PH can only kill on Death Hook if the survivor got themselves tormented.
Survivors can remove Sadako's condemnation. Same with pig traps.
All of the above killers have some form of interactivity and need to still commit to chases in order to get the killer. Myers does not.
The addons are from an old era of the game.

you have any idea how long it takes to get to evil within with that add on or the two add on I use it's the survivors fault for letting me get to that point and I think it fair how long it takes.
I mean I had games where I use tho add on and get 1 kill because all gens are done and I get less mad about it
it the cases where you know you lost when there 2 or 3 gens left when I get to that point.
It taking long doesn't stop it from being unhealthy for the game. Both tombstone addons simply need changes.
