  • All of the offerings are pretty cool!

Infected is pretty weak, all things considered, basically making the Reanimated have to hit a Survivor 3 times to use their power at all. Instead, if Infected was a small pounce attack with only slightly restricted turning but longer range than a normal lunge, it could act as a good anti-looping tool. It should also injure Survivors when it hits btw.

Crave For Flesh is such a cool name for such a lackluster ability. Giving the only form of map pressure this Killer has only in chase while giving them a mechanic that should be useless faster isn't a great secondary ability. Instead if Craving For Flesh was tied to CTRL, and when clicking CTRL the Reanimated gets a 30-40% speed boost for either 30 seconds or until injuring a Survivor. You start the match with it, and after the first use it takes 30 seconds of not being in a chase to get it back. With this being all about speed as well, I have to say that the Reanimated should be a 115% speed Killer. Their power, even with my proposed changes, is not strong enough to have the penalty of 110% speed.

Zombified power creeps Legion by making the only good part about his power be able to be given to the Spirit. Anyways, instead if Zombified was an alternative to Sloppy Butcher, where on hit with a BASIC ATTACK (<--- important), Survivors had a 10/15/20% decrease to repair, healing, cleansing and sabotage speeds until healed.

Hex: Grave Danger is a worse NOED and that's fine. NOED should get nerfed anyways. It should give a 4/8/12% speed boost though in my opinion.

Death Calls is... no. Do not. If it instead inflicted all injured Survivors with the Broken status effect for 30/45/60 seconds when the Obsession is hooked, it'd be a good effect without being a free injured person the entire game.

Head-First is cool, but it just seems unnecessary. It also probably shouldn't be able to break pallets to avoid potential sandbagging.

Scholar is a very interesting perk that's just better Red Herring, which is fine because Red Herring is one of the worst perks ever.

Fight Back is disgusting. You underestimate how buggy everything with DBD is, and this would be just as annoying as Head On for that reason if it didn't have a lower exhaustion timer. I don't know how to make this concept not painfully annoying honestly. It should be specified that it can only activate at the start of a vault, though, since otherwise it completely negates the following Killers anti-looping potential: Hillbilly, Wraith, Demogorgon, Ghost Face, Myers, Pig, Blight, and Oni. It also could activate only on being hit by the Killer while vaulting, so it stuns them for like 4 seconds giving you time to get away without them being able to see you.

Overall, this chapter is pretty cool!

That's about what I expected from someone who is trying to defend Jund. "She doesn't".

This has already been responded to effectively in past topics, and I just woke up after playing Civ 5 until midnight last night.... so I will remedy this as best as I can... but you are supposed to be using your ears and mind against Spirit. The entire community struggles because they keep using their eyes and nothing else and then get mad when they get hit and downed. The only valid complaint is standing still, however that has it's own issues. Stridor Spirit is another complex issue that I doubt the DBD devs will be able to fix reliably.

You are supposed to be predicting what the Spirit will do based off of things that are happening. This is easier than you think if you know how a Killer operates and you can predict where she's going to phase. Whether she's phasing to a gen, to a Survivor, this can be predicted by guessing what the most likely "immediate problem" a Killer will want to address first.

I also don't want to be thinking about American politics when searching for DBD videos, and I don't care about a DBD Youtuber's thoughts on things. His views have nothing to do with DBD takes, I find his actions annoying, and I am free to express my disapproval. I can dislike Jund for these reasons. This is basically a outlier anyways and irrelevant to DBD. Stop before this topic gets modded.

"If he has a platform and popularity etc" no, his platform was started by his DBD videos and he made a Twitter while using his name to get people to follow it, then he uses that attention to make political takes.

I was again listing why I didn't like Jund.

All of that is understandable, though Spirit makes no sound to queue you into what she's doing while phasing so don't know where that came from.

Anyways, I have no interest in continuing this conversation. You can dislike him all you want but you were attempting to discredit him based on things you personally disliked and disagreed with, rather than what he has done wrong.

You actually think reversed controls are a good idea? there would be more disconnects against clown than Legion, Nurse and Freddy put together.

I like how you mention Nurse and not Spirit. But yeah, I do, its better than slowdown IMO.

Wait, people actually thought he wanted Iron Will nerfed? I thought he just said he didn't like it because it was a difficult perk to go against, man his fans are weird. Actually, lemme rephrase that. STANS because they listen to everything he says (Please don't take that wrongly Scott, I have nothing against you).

He wanted it to not make you completely silent while injured instead of only making your grunts of pain silent like it's supposed to. He wants it nerfed, but not it's actual effect. He wants it to do what it says on the tin, and not make you quieter while injured than you are while healthy.

Oh, he's said more than that in his Retroactive Counterplay video, I think. His "Spirit has no counterplay at all whatsoever" opinions are what indirectly shaped the Otzdarva community video. Otz's chat is echoing similar opinions to Jund because that's where they got it from.

I also mentioned more than politics...

And the picture was a political joke with a obvious implied connection. He picked Trump specifically, it's not hard to imagine why. "It's just a joke" doesn't excuse the connection.

And I get what you mean, but even if we separate his Twitter from his Youtube, he's still made this video. Plus his Twitter's opinions are connected to him. He has a platform to voice his personal, unwanted thoughts because of his Youtube channel's popularity.

Well she doesn't..? Spirit's only counterplay is Iron Will and you can just run Stridor to counter it? Also, Scott without Stridor, can consistently get downs with Spirit against people with Iron Will. It's not a counter.

Even if it is a connection, whataboutism was practiced by Trump, and it's not an incorrect opinion to say that you don't like Trump, that's a personal opinion. What does his political views have to do with his takes on DBD btw?

If he has a platform and popularity, obviously his "personal, unwanted thoughts" are wanted. The videos he's made have nothing to do with politics though, and at least most of his discussion videos are mostly unbiased, and if they're not, they're STILL not politics based. What does his political views have to do with his takes on DBD btw?

I knew it was going to be bad but not like this. Apparently killers don’t have the Trickster with overpowered meta perks yet so the amount of slugging and tunneling is now an epidemic with all the meta killers and meta perks. Have only seen one Trickster today. Decisive strike can now be exploited by killers and it is a major issue.

Can’t play with the new character because killers see no obsession and that means tunnel each one down. Slugging is running rampant in a majority of matches.

The killer objective is way too easy to do for majority of matches. DS now needs some desperate buffs to make it fun when using it. Survivor agency should be as important as killer agency.

I can't believe I just now discovered this beautiful account. I'm not sure yet if this is a gimmick account or if you genuinely believe these things, but either way it's amazing.

You just can't work on a generator in the killer's face anymore. It only took how damn long for the devs to figure this out? BHVR is in dire need of new management.

Yes. That was the nerf. The nerf was to make it an actual anti-tunneling perk instead of an anti-progress perk. What in your right mind made you think THIS is the thing they did this patch that made them need to get new management? Literally EVERYTHING outside of DS, Blight and Wraith is bad about this update, and you chose DS?!

He has some good ideas, but some bad ones too. I think Otz has the best sense of balance of all the streamers I've watched (which admittedly isn't many)

I also disagree that BHVR has no incentive to improve their game. Because they've been doing that. They've just been doing it really slowly. I mean they recently gave Wraith a nice buff. Last year we got all new maps. Doctor is actually playable now. Clown is a little better. They could be a little more open with us. They don't even have to give specifics. Just be like "Yeah, we're looking at Trapper. We know that he's add-on dependent, and we'd like to fix that. We can't give you a timeframe right now, but know that we're working on it." I think that'd satisfy most reasonable people.

He never said they never improve their game, but they have no INCENTIVE to. Incentive means reason. Since they have no competitors at the moment, outside of like 1 game in beta testing, they have no reason to work to improve the game.

Imo Otz and Scott's opinions, balance wise, are very similar, as well. Though I could be missing something. It's probably one of those things where it depends on the person and both are right.

Given his takes on Twitter and some of the unnecessary political references in his videos, plus some of the worst takes on meta killers, I doubt it. He isn't a "Killer main", he has mixed opinions but some of the most prominent ones like on Spirit make him sound EXTREMELY Survivor biased.

    It's unfortunate that he's a community leader.

But in the regards to the video... 4 minutes in and everything seems fine. It makes sense, this might be one of his better videos.

Who in their right mind thinks "Spirit needs a nerf or a change to be more fair to Survivors" is a Survivor biased statement lmao.

Also, politics isnt something to hate someone over if they points about the game are accurate or at least understandable. I've disagreed

with him on more than a few occasions, but at no point has he sounded Survivor or Killer sided, and he doesn't even go into politics that much.

And let's be honest, pointing out the obvious isn't a massive feat.

His other takes are usually frankly bad.

I didn't even click the video. Oddly enough, when I go back to it, I can't find the thumbmail.

He didn't say anything on Trump on Youtube I think... it was a Youtube video thumbmail that is mysteriously missing. Half of the thumbmail was Trapper with a photoshopped Trump head and the other half was of Jund during one of his "talk videos" I think.

It was around the same period of time that the retroactive counterplay video existed, but that might be gone too. I just checked all of his videos and I can't find it. Video was either deleted or he changed the thumbmail.

The picture was a joke and the video was "Whataboutism in DBD", because of the problem DBD has where sometimes people just say "well what about ____" when someone makes a point about something else. It wasn't a political stance in any sense IMO, it was just a joke and at most a light jab, boo hoo.

And Twitter should be treated entirely separately from Youtube, Twitter is a dumpster fire and Youtube is only trying to make itself a dumpster fire.

On that note, the last political statement he made was over a week ago on Twitter, and honestly I disagree with it but that doesn't make him a bad human or bad at DBD with bad opinions???

  • Just reading the power, this Killer sounds like they'd be really... really bad. Without a power, against good Survivors, you will NEVER get 5 hits. Even with aura reading on all Survivors while the power is active, this power itself is also kinda really bad.

Its just Myers without an insta down and with a harder way to get his power, with what I assume to be a larger terror radius. Also, you list 2 people as the Killer, that could've been cool, but no. This Killer is just Myers with some stat changes thrown in as spice.

The Eye of the Entity power is cool, but the only two worthwhile ones are the second and fourth gen ones. The fact that this Killer relies on losing is something I dislike in its own right, but saving the best part of any of its powers for when there's only 1 gen remaining is awful.

Entity Appeased is just worse Ruin. Just run Ruin.

Hex: Cult Classic had something going for it with the last effect, but the first effect just ruined it. Why would you have a negative effect on a Hex perk? Especially one like that, jeez.

Devoted gives no benefit. At all. Its just worse Blood Warden, oftentimes it will have a negative effect, and its positive effect outside of the one that's worse Blood Warden should never activate. Ever.

Keen Eye shows you the Killers aura for 20 seconds at no cost. Why. Ontop of that, it indefinitely shows you the auras of Survivors. For no cost. Why????

Undercover is interesting, I like it.

For Helping Hand, what perk stage changes how long the Exposed Status lasts? Also, what level of Haste? Haste isn't a flat number, it acts like Hindered does. It depends on what applies it. For example, Sprint Burst applies 150% haste for 3 seconds, while Hope applies 7% haste for 120 seconds when the final generator is completed.

  • Look at Second Wind for a way you can design a perk like this. 2 requirements and a punishment until you're healed by the perk.

The rare times I do play survivor, I run either inner strength or second wind. Fight me.

As for unbreakable, that's sacrificing two perk slots for the dilemma where only one of them can actually be used, in the off chance that you get tunneled off of the hook.

And DS is an amazing perk in general, but it's not meant to be an anti-tunnel perk. If you happen to be tunneled, then the 5 second second chance (meaning grasp escape) is great. Good luck dealing with when you inevitably get tunneled even more to the ground after a 5 second stun. And we can do the math for that: Survivors move at a rate of 4 m/s, a 5 second stun means 20 meters, made by default (not including the little stagger you get after stabbing somebody), and a killer runs at 4.6 m/s, 20 meters behind. 20 seconds later, the killer will have made 92 meters, survivor will have made 85 meters.

Pedantry aside, you shouldn't be holding w with a DS, you should be finding a good loop. Even then, loops can only last so long before you get downed and facecamped, and if Solo queue has taught me anything, it's that nobody knows how to deal with a face camp.

Also, how the ######### do you misread "tunneled before you get hooked" as "tunneled off hook before you get hooked?" You can still very well get tunneled without getting hooked; Bubba finds you, Bubba doesn't like you, Bubba chases you for 5 minutes and then finally hooks you. It's quite ingenious.

Have you seen old DS? Back in the old day, it was one free grasp escape at any given time. Only since the last change (meaning 60 seconds after behind hooked) did they even stipulate that you had to be tunneled. Even the devs confirmed it on one of their obscure streams: DS is a second chance, not an anti-tunnel. They're trying to mix and mash it into an anti-tunnel perk that still gives you a second chance (IE, killer grasp escape), but they aren't doing a very good job at it.

I won't, both of those perks are pretty cool!

It 100% is meant to be an anti-tunnel perk, it punishes the Killer for tunneling because they have to waste even more time if they do. Also I wouldn't be opposed to DS hiding scratch marks n stuff for 10 seconds or something, either, but currently it does just fine in punishing the Killer for tunneling. Anti-tunnel :)

Also, I got my facts wrong with the time you get from DS. That's my bad there.

I was using holding W as a reference, and yeah I even said you should find a good loop earlier did I not? But yeah, solo queue can make getting caught again rough. Not much I can do about that there though, I'm not, nor do I know the CEO of face-camping.

I didn't. At all. I covered both ways your line could be taken in separate sentences. DS only affects tunneling off of a hook, though, and evidently thats the only type of tunneling that can be punished. A perk punishing a long chase would be terribly unfair, so.

I also started playing this game before the DS rework, I am painfully aware of old DS. I do think they're doing a good job with that concept, though, as DS is still a terribly effective perk in its current state, while now being fair.

Though, I believe we've reached the greatest middle ground we could with this argument and its clear we agree and disagree with statements in this thread in different ways, so I'd like to call it here and agree to disagree.

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2060939#Comment_2060939

That fails to address the whole issue of slugging isn't the killer throwing, and doing generators is not an indication of tunneling status. If my savior is injured, I'm sure as hell going to heal them, not wait around for 10 seconds to see if the killer is coming back to hook to tunnel me.

DS' proper purpose is not to be an anti-tunnel perk. It does a god awful job at that, especially with the recent changes. One measly 5 second stun after getting hooked is not going to prevent you from being tunneled, and it doesn't even address tunneling before you get hooked, or after 60 seconds from your last hooking has lapsed. They're trying to force it into being an anti-tunnel perk while keeping vestiges of its old self, but it either needs a complete overhaul to become an anti-tunnel perk, or remain a second chance.

Why wouldn't you let them heal you first if you were the one hooked???

Also, did you uh... miss the Unbreakable thing? Its a pretty cool perk you should try it. And even if you don't want to, the Killer slugging you and just standing on your heels for 60 seconds IS throwing the game. If they don't do that, you can get picked up no problem. Also, counter statement, Borrowed Time :)

DS is an amazing anti-tunneling perk, what the actual ######### are you saying. 5 seconds is equal to 20 for the Killer, as it's a 4 v 1 game. If you want me to I can do the math for you. Since I assume you don't just stand still infront of the Killer for the entire 5 second stun, it takes about 20 seconds for the Killer to catch up to you if they don't have a long range / mobility option. If they are long range, it will take longer to catch up if you broke LOS, and if they have mobility, it might be a 5-10 second time AFTER the 5 second stun. Even after 10 seconds you should be at a loop to continue wasting the Killer's time.

Also, how the ######### do you tunnel off hook before you get hooked. How the ######### do you get tunneled if the Killer left you alone for 60 seconds after you were unhooked. If you were being chased for the whole duration, the Killer just wasted 3 minutes worth of time and 3 generators should've popped, if not 4 (if your teammates know how to hold m1 on a stationary object).

DS was so obviously meant to be an anti-tunneling perk, how are so many people so ignorant to claim otherwise? Also, it wasn't ever a second chance perk. It was a straight up "you cannot" perk, for a full minute, until these changes.

  • @SleepyWillo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2060919#Comment_2060919

but it isn't an anti tunnel perk. you're still being tunnelled and the killer won't stop going for you because you DS'd them 2 seconds ago.

True anti tunnel would work twice and hide sounds/scratch marks while active.

You literally cannot do anything to progress the game and keep it active. Let it actually help you if you're being tunnelled if that's the case.

Oh yes because a 5 second stun leading to a 20 second timer to catch up (ignoring loops) is no reward at all. Again, are you so bad that you can't get to a decent loop in 20 seconds?

That's technically a full minute of time the Killer is wasting on you if they decide to continue tunneling, since all other Survivors should be doing objectives (20 seconds x 3 survivors = 60 seconds. 60 seconds = 1 minute). This is assuming you just held W by the way.

if killers mains say it’s an antitunnel perk and survs mains say it’s worthless now, I tend to agree with survs

Ummm.... if you're being tunneled the nerfs don't affect you at all???

They literally don't, in the slightest. If you're being tunneled you can't do a generator, heal another Survivor, etc. These were the nerfs that were made. They don't affect you if you're being tunneled. I'll repeat it again if you'd like.

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

Well the nerfs were kind of brute-strengethed into there. What if you want to stop a generator from regressing after you're unhooked? What if you get slugged for 60 seconds? What if the killer is on the other side of the map so you stop to heal, because what are you supposed to do, just sit there and wait to be slugged?

Sure, it sounds good on paper and appeased the rag-tag band of nerf DS ideologues, but it just lacks nuance and subtlety. It not only has cut down on DS' second chance capacity, but also its anti-tunnel capacity. It's just too situational, and for no good reason, to even be considered using.

    Heres your answer.

Don't do that with the gen. Run Unbreakable or get picked up by a teammate (if the Killer stops you from being picked up for 60 seconds THEY'RE throwing the game). If the Killer is on the other side of the map you're not getting tunneled.

Now DS serves its proper purpose, and you complain that it servers its proper purpose.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2060675#Comment_2060675

No you don't. Killer follows your scratch marks and you're back in a short chase before you can do anything.

5 second stun resulting in at LEAST 20 seconds for the average Killer with no mobility option to catch up, maybe 5-10 with. Are you saying thats not long enough to get to any loop? How bad are you at this game?

  • @Zixology said:

A perk shouldn't be required to be able to play the game.

Love how, now that DS is worthless, killer mains everywhere are telling you to run it.

    "DS is worthless"

Oh boohoo it does what the hell it's supposed to, what ever shall we do without our free anti-momentum button???

Now that its a legitimate anti tunnel perk, you call it useless. Also like how you just call anyone who disagrees with you a Killer main, real funny.

  • @Revolver_Ocelot said:

My take on how to fix DbD as of Patch 4.5.2. I know that the devs will never take these seriously or respond to this post, but here's hoping they might.

    === KILLERS ===

The Nurse: Total power rework. The Nurse does not follow the core components of the game (i.e. once you are spotted not even pallets will help you escaped a Nurse player that has practiced.)

The Spirit: Remove ability to hear survivor's groans of pain while phasing and add some form of notification (like environmental fog increase) that The Spirit is phasing near you when you are working on a generator (the phasing sound is too quiet. I feel especially bad for those who have hearing problems).

The Huntress: Add a limit to how long a charged up hatchet can be held before a cooldown and/or reduce max number of hatchets carried at one time. Change iridescent head add-on.

The Shape: Update power and add-ons. I have written ways to fix The Shape since he hasn't received nearly any changes since his release in 2016. Check it out here:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/233578/would-you-support-these-updates-changes-to-the-shapes-power-and-add-ons

All Killers: Remove ability to maximize turning sensitivity so the Killer cannot swing, swipe their mouse, and land a hit despite facing away from the Survivor. In other words, once you initiate an attack in one-direction in should only hit survivors in that direction (give or take SOME degrees).

All Killers: The Undetectable status effect should not trigger crows.

All Killers: Killers should have a meter that fills up while remaining in very close proximity to hooked survivors. When filled the Killer should be temporarily stunned and blinded for a very short duration. This will encourage Killers to monitor survivors and survivor objectives and give the survivor being targeted a chance to be rescued.

    === SURVIVORS ===

Remove ability to maximize turning sensitivity. In other words spinning in a circle, in place should not cause a Killers attack to auto-aim away and miss you. Changing directions abruptly should have momentum and use a locomotion animation where the survivor stops quickly then changes direction (footing).

Survivors should have a meter that fills up when not in a chase or helping team mates with objectives. The meter should regress faster while doing objectives and being chased, and the meter should fill up slower when not helping with objectives or being chased. When a survivor's meter is full they should scream (cannot be prevented) and/or have their aura revealed (cannot be prevented). This idea is to prevent a match from dragging on forever when two survivors are left and both hide until the other is found. Also it motivates survivors to do their objectives instead of chickening out or otherwise trolling.

    === MAPS ===

Add new ways to avoid detection with the addition of new props such as furniture (beds, large benches, closets, curtains, tables, etc.) that survivors can hide UNDER or behind.

Large Maps: On big maps such as Haddonfield and Ormond either reduce the size of the maps or add more generators (require 6 or 7 perhaps?) and make them slightly easier to repair (if more are added). Or perhaps require one generator to be powered in order to access a part of the map where the next generator is.

    Specific Killer Changes:

The Nurse is by far the strongest killer in the game, I can see how some would want her to go through another rework. But come on, you couldn't even say "good Nurse"? Even good Nurses are easy to beat if you know what you're doing, just a bit of practice will get you no where with her. Plus, out of the killers most complained about (Spirit, Nurse, Freddy, Deathslinger), not only is she the best but she's also the hardest to play AND the most fair. Nurse has well defined counterplay and true 50/50s that Spirit poorly replicates as 90/10s (Killer favor).

Spirit should 100% keep her ability to hear Survivors, why the hell would you suggest otherwise? Remove her hearing and make her like, low midtier? Spirit has only decent map control and only excels in chases, where in both she's greatly outclassed by a Nurse. She does need a more apparent indicator that she is phasing, though, something more than the crystals glowing (as with some skins they are hidden). It's also of my opinion that she should move grass while phasing.

Why... why would you ever request one of the most balanced Killers to be nerfed more than Hillbilly was? I agree with the removal/great rework of Iri Head, and I personally prefer the idea of making it require a long range shot to get the insta down, but Huntress is only outclassed in terms of balance by pre-rework Billy with no add-ons. I don't understand how you could ever say she needs a nerf unless you suck at dodging when she first pulls her hatchet up, and then getting behind cover when its fully charged. A Huntress chase isn't a hard game depending on the skill of either player, but it is one that is fair.

It is of my personal and very unpopular opinion that the Shape is incredibly weak against competent players, but I don't believe he needs a rework. This is a personal and very subjective issue, so I won't argue further.

    All Killer Changes:

I don't see how the lunge could be an issue. It's not like it actively gives them an advantage, either. Just don't rely on 360s I guess.

I agree with the Undetectable change.

Not a single, and I repeat, NOT A SINGLE change like this can be used to counter camping. Did you not consider the concept of Survivors looping around the hook, bomb rushing the hook the second the Survivor is hooked, etc??? I genuinely don't understand the logic of this. It rewards Survivors for playing like ######### and punishes all Killers, not just campers.

    Survivor Changes:

I don't get how this is an issue? An animation queue could be cool, but it's not necessary. You have full range of motion while lunging as Killer, anyways.

Uhhh. No. Survivors hiding also isn't an effective tool with how many things a Killer has that can queue them to the Survivors location. You mentioned crows earlier, now think of using them to track a Survivor. Quite a useful trick. Also, scratch marks? A single one can queue you to exactly where a Survivor is, even if you saw it 9 seconds after the Survivor ran there. Generator progress? It's not hard to look around a few rocks if you see a generator that was worked on. This, in the best case scenario, punishes Survivors for no reason that should be an issue for Killers. Also, think of how much Wraith would abuse this. Free aura reading because while cloaked Wraith doesn't enter chase. It also punishes Survivors for not being able to find a generator, which on maps like the Game and Midwich is a genuine issue.

    Map Changes:

I don't think this is a necessary change. Stealth hasn't been a good idea for... 4 years now? You have legs as a Survivor, use them and don't hide in a corner pretending their broken and saying you have no other means of defense. Even if they were added, only new Survivors would use them, and new Survivors would get caught. A lot.

On large maps, the ONLY reasonable change would be to reduce their sizes. But the size of Haddonfield isn't the issue for it, it's the shape and structure. The long walls in the form of fences it has are a pain in the ass, and the main structure could be turned into an infinite in some configurations.

Anyways, I disagree with a great portion of these changes, and I hope you understand why. If you disagree, that's fine, but I think I was as objective as I could've been.

looping onis power is quite easy in my opinion last 4 games i havent been hit by demon strike not even close even tho they are trying there best and bubba is a joke i usually go down against them beacuse they all play so got damn weird but i usually dont reach hook stage 3 since they are to focused with their face camping and defending that basement:p havent played against a bubba in weeks tho so im not sure i havent really gotten any red rank bubbas in SUCH a long time

And well trickster may not look scary but i do like that he is different but i just feel that they could have made him a little scarier.

Why are Onis using demon strike around loops more than Demon Rush? Lmao.

    easy on the capslock.

you pretty much are forced to run faster uncloak add-ons whereas before you were forced to run windstorm. his map controi got better but his chase is worse. fact. you cannot argue that

Did you just ignore his now basekit bullet lunge in favor of capslock?

ooh it doesnt but thats like adding hello kitty with a half bitten ear and a blood drop

he is some fresh air cant disagree with that was a loong time ago since i could almost guarantee a win its only against oni, trapper and bubba but now its 4!!!!!!!

This entire post is about how he looks. It's not about his power in any sense.

Also, what the hell makes you think a crappy Survivor could win against a decent Oni or Bubba?

Both of those Killers severely punish Survivors for any misplay they make, especially Oni.

i totally agree got him on my first match after update i changted resolution sensitivty etc. used a troll build and still one without even trying he is such a underpowered killer LMAO

@Critical_Fish wdym simp (i know what the word means)?

Adding a kpop dude is just hilarious atleast they tried to make the other killers look scary lol

I called OP a simp as a joke.

Anyways, stop acting like DBD is a horror game that requires a spooky aesthetic, and let the designers have some fun with newer designs.

  • Ok, but you say that like they can get the copyright for any of those horror movie monsters easily. A zombie killer would be boring, as well.

Also, yes K-Pop, more specifically the music industry as a whole, is ######### up. I'm not even kidding, the ######### in that industry and others like it are gross and genuine horror movie material in the right hands.

  • @Gardenia said:

He's a breath of fresh air, and has so much personality, kinda cute too not gonna lie~

    Ok, one, simp.

Anyways, his aesthetic is spot on, I agree. They nailed it with his presence, but his power was utterly botched. Talk about a letdown, I would've loved to see a Killer with so much personality being usable.

Also the people saying he doesn't fit the horror aesthetic of DBD are stupid <3

Seriously. You don't get how genuinely freaky the ######### that happens behind closed doors of celebrities is? Also, DBD hasn't been a horror game for a long time.

  • @Chappy01 said:

His uncloak speed boost is less, and because it takes him longer to uncloak it gives survivors more head start on you. he can no longer get a guaranteed hit

So you've been playing Wraith without his Windstorm add-on for god knows how long if you think this is a genuine downside that actually exists, and fail to see the benefits of actual map control AND a lunge faster than a bullet???

There's no way this buff could ever be considered bad, since his lunge out of cloak makes up for the minimal distance lost from the slower decloak speed. At worst, you could just stack Swift Hunt add-ons now to get a minimal slowdown because of the shorter decloak, WHICH YOU COULD NEVER DO BEFORE BECAUSE THE ADD-ON WITH THE "DOWNSIDE" OF A SLOWER SPEED WHILE DECLOAKING WAS REQUIRED TO PLAY WRAITH.

When I solo I run Kindred for the sole purpose to give randoms a warning if the killer is face camping me. They still stand there waiting for the killer to move instead of doing gens. As I said before. It doesn't matter what buffs or information we give them if they aren't going to use it.

But yet that wastes up a perk slot, so even if they did use that information youd be at a major disadvantage. Plus, a callout system as I suggested would help you tell people where youre going, if youre in a chase, etc, as well. Any ingame queue could theoretically be applied to it.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

Solo sucks, yes. A 4 man swf sucks, also yes. However unless the killer is running a meta killer+ perks hardly anything beats 4 man swf that knows what they are doing. The difference is solo can always improve or find friends to play in a swf. No amount of git gud will do against a competent swf unless they make mistakes for the killer to capitalize on.

Buffing solo isnt the answer. Any buff you give them can also buff swf making the real power role even more powerful. Besides you can give solo all the information and help in the world. If they lack the talent to utilize it nothing will change.

Yknow the buff I was thinking of was a loose means of communication via a small callout menu, consisting of "going to save", "doing gens", "need healing", etc.

Also, you can beat anyone in this game outside of the top .1% of Survivors, who are also playing together, who are also playing sweaty. Even if the 4 man knows what they're doing. You just need to know more.

Plus, you ignore the Killer's ability to improve. Even the best players make mistakes, and part of being a Killer is making the most of them.

    Lmao-

Anyways, honestly should probably get off the forums for now.

  • I don't think they did, as recently I saw a Pyramid Head attack instantly out of m2.

If they did though, then that's good, as he shouldn't just be immune to pallets and windows without requiring the mechanical skill of Nurse.

    it didnt get changed.

Offerings were always designed to directly affect the game, give advantages to whoever played them.

Map offerings let you select the realm you wish to go to, Hook offerings let you increase / decrease the amount of available hooks, Hatch offerings let you force a Hatch spawn on a certain location, etc.

the only Offerings this doesnt apply to are the bonus BP offerings, which are just there.

Moris are ment to be affecting the trial you play in.

obviously their original design was absolutely busted and the second design was unhealthy, but that doesnt mean they'd have to be useless. a one hook on everyone requirement would instantly make them a lot healthier for the game: they would be powerfull enough to pose a threat (so they'd be worth the BP / offering status they have), while also encouraging nice behavior from the killer and even going as far as giving the survivors a way to counter them.

You uh. Do realize I was talking about moris in particular there, right?

I don't like map offerings because they affect the game too much. The rest are fine because the Killer/Survivors in question can work around them. I also just don't think you can expect a solo queue Survivor without coordination to hide in a corner all game to prevent the Killer from getting a free kill. Without playing in a 4 man SWF, that simply isn't reliable.

And I will repeat, most games you do not face a 4 man SWF. If I have to say this again I'm going to cry-

I get it that these perks are very common, but imagine a future where for some reason DS, BT and Deliverance have been nerfed and no one uses them anymore. In this hypothetical situation, the cages just become outdated.

They would, but they do still save time and are better than hooking if there are other Survivors nearby.

  • @sulaiman said:

no i dont, because i stopped playing killer. You should work on your reading comprehension.

Umm, I don't think I should. When you did play Killer, you apparently went against so many sweaty SWFs, and the only way you could win against what was probably actually a 2 man SWF and 2 solo queues was by using an instant win button.

Simply because I worded it oddly doesn't mean I didn't understand the context you were speaking in. Maybe you should work on your capitalization <3

  • @GlamourousLeviathan said:

I kind of agree that if hook perks weren't so prevalent (Decisive, BT and Deliverance) his cage would be underwhelming. When I play PH, I like sending people to cage because it saves some time and looks cool, but if no one has hook perks then I just start to question why this thing was added in the first place.

Edit: I think that the cage was suppose to add a sense of urgency to rescuing as there are skill checks in the second stage but since I never saw someone actually mess them up it just became pointless.

The problem with this statement arises when you realize most of the best perks Survivors use are hook related.

  • @Shenshen said:

I wouldn't buff him to be honest. I pretty much one trick Pyramid Head and his power is really really strong. He is probably one, if not the best killer to get someone out of the game early. I love him how he is and I don't know why but people say he can M2 instantly but I've never seen it.

He can m2 instantly, but it's a recently discovered bug. The bigger problem is being able to do a basic attack instantly out of an m2.

  • @sulaiman said:

Well, i used old moris, the second most op thing in the game, to deal with the most op thing in the game, swf.

Now, i dont run moris, because i just dont play killer anymore. Even as solo survivor, the game is just much more relaxing. But i take a break from the game much more often, because the change of pace i desire from time to time is not provided ingame anymore, so i just play something else.

Don't make me say it for the tenth time today. YOU DON'T GO AGAINST A 4 MAN SWF EVERY TIME YOU PLAY.

And the ones you do go against are probably not sweaty enough/good enough to be considered overpowered.

Play killer against a 4man SWF genrush and try to explain to me how this game is balanced.

Play solo Survivor against a sweaty Nurse running Ruin + Undying, BBQ and Corrupt or Infectious Fright. Tell me this game is balanced then.

Both sides have something that simply outclasses the other, yet seeing both of these things are so rare it might as well not exist. I somehow highly doubt you go against a sweaty 4 man SWF every time you play, who actually genrushes. If you play a Killer with any map presence at all, and get good with them, you will see how you simply aren't as much of a victim to this games "crappy balancing" as you say.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2054109#Comment_2054109

The way you said it implied killers were tunneling both hooks. However, I maintain that the advantage is negligible at best.

It isn't massive, and it shouldn't be. Using one thing that costed a quarter of the BP you get in a single match shouldn't be a free win in the next one.
