I think they are but the point is how easily one can get bored. An option to switch them off would be nice.
-
To be honest most of them are fine. Radical changes would be needed to make them high-tier.
People still use them and win given their expertise or the add-ons / builds their use.
Of all Freddy stands out as he requires a complete rework.
Myers does not require a complete rework as opposed to many people believe - he just needs different / better add-ons so that people do not rely on the Tier 3 enhancing ones too much.

I think BHVR should create an event for 1 week with forced random perks only
And to encourage people to play the game, double XP and bloodpoints during the week
An event would be a lovely idea.

1) Nurse
2) Spirit
These two always.
3) Wraith
Lately, they've been using nasty builds.
-
Not a bad idea. It would help with chases and would also make for an interesting mindgame.
-
Devotion 15, level 41. In 2,5K hours.
Interestingly, my surv grade is already iri while as a killer I'm a silver only. It's just so sweaty these days that surv matches are preferred.
-
Leaving is always fine if you think DbD is too much. A short break can help and you can return later relaxed.
In fact, as Chucky is new there is an abundance of players using him right now. Come back in a few weeks and the number will be much lower.
I think Chucky is fine as a killer. If any rework is needed it should be related to some values but as I do not own him I do not wish to give advice about something I do not fully understand. I definitely managed to escape in SoloQ more than once and I'm a casual DbD player.
-
Gifting "money" should never be an option. Gifting cosmetics on the other hand...
-
You compare tunneling with gen rushing.
The latter has no meaningful interaction with the killer. The former does.
-
I had a similar situation with Skull Merchant on Badham yesterday. I just approached the hook for her to do her job but she only downed me and did the slugging.

Flashbangs are next to pointless imo. I spent days trying to do the 'blind the killer' challenge and managed to get at least two FBs per match, sometimes three, and I got a successful blind using them twice. I've even blinded other survivors body blocking the killer to a hook (only once - I try not to do that and no light borne). Imo theyre too unpredictable.
I played Bubba yesterday and was about to take a survivor to basement when another came to the rescue with a flashbang.
Funny thing is I immediately turned away and that is why I got blinded as he was aiming in a very bad way.
In the endgame chat I got the usual "ez" , "babby bubba" etc. which is funny considering it was my mistake.

From what Ive heard lots of people see him as one of the most boring killers to play against.
A good match with Legion (where he doesn't tunnel / camp / slug) results in high BPs due to the many healing activities. Plus, after he hit you he leaves which means you get an escape score.
If the match is long even if you lose you can get a lot of BPs. This is why I like these matches. I rarely see him these days, though.
-
Thanks I'll give it a try.

Pig needs a substantial buff, she is getting "tweaked" some time next year but what she really needs are meaningful buffs to her stealth and ambush.
I rarely use her ambush ability. It should be made faster.

Now that Chucky was released I watched all Child's Play movies (with the exception of the remake).
Anyone seen the TV show?
-
"I got held hostage at the exit gates. Went around breaking pallets until the end game collapse nearly ended and went to check and sure enough I was getting teabagged by the player I spared and the one other remaining person"
I had a match with Bubba where the team was pretty decent. I noticed some tunnel / camp would help tremendously but decided to play nice. Eventually, I managed to down one survivor just when the last gen popped.
I stayed in a distance signaling they were allowed to pick her up. They didn't. Instead of leaving one remained at the gate. I thought I'd do some farming as there were unbroken pallets around.
In the endgame chat there was a storm of "EZ" and "baby bubba" from 3 of them.
I think you summed it up well. Sad, depressing lives.

No. Distortion is just very popular right now. From what I’ve seen as both killer and survivor. Solo queue players I keep seeing just hide all game with distortion then complain they died because gens didn’t pop. It’s really dumb. Just keep practicing, frankly with 2-3 aura perks you should burn through their distortion tokens.
now if you get a sweaty comp team with distortion users idk what to tell you
but no the game isn’t intentionally countering you
I would frankly advise you to quit killer now. It’s just a nightmare migraine especially since the recent mmr adjustment. I’ve basically quit and only play survivor now. Less stressful and easier
What do you mean by "recent adjustment"? What happened exactly? In what patch update was this detailed?

This game really does need ( I know it would be a huge job ) a complete remake on unreal engine 5 for ps5 / X / PC only.
Things get fixed, and a rebroken in later patches. Theyll change things, and completely unrelated things break. It feels like the code is a house of cards balancing act.
I do not believe it has anything to do with UE. Things could still get "broken" in the 5th iteration.
I'd rather see a DbD 2 in UE 5. Remasters are for single player games not for multiplayer ones.

I was on your side until I saw the mention of not wanting to learn to loop. If this was back in the beta to release days, that would fly but looping has been made fundamental since then. I get not wanting to learn in pubs if that's what you mean. People can be cruel and having a controlled environment like a custom lobby with a friend is a good start. Swearing off looping entirely in this era of dbd that we're in is foolish at best and delusional at worst. (No offense, just saying my piece on this.)
I'm sure you understand that by looping I meant "be that guy of the SWF that keeps the killer entertained until at least 3-4 gens are done". 2K is not enough for me for that and as some of us are casual players I will not change.
Or casual is also a swear word now since beta?
-
You can leave your item to the killer as a token of gratitude. I do that when I'm let go along with a lot of nods.
For the 2nd scenario: Is it possible they have a killer item? Wesker's spray, for instance.
You need to put down one item so that the 2nd can be used as your character is only holding one.
A 3rd scenario I can think of when you want to be healed but the survivor would rather be elsewhere. So, they give you the medkit for use.

It's a fine perk, but the restocking speed should be slowed down. Unless the killer is running something with a constant onslaught of aura reading, I rarely dip below 2 tokens. They recharge so fast.
I agree with this. That minor nerf the perk could get.
-
It is a rare occurrence I think. They often have specific perks such as Sole Survivor or Wake Up which means they want to remain the last one and they want that escape. One can assume they were there to do a challenge.
It is unfortunate but some of us want to do these challenges as quickly as possible and that sometimes means smaller chances of escape for the team.
-
I re-read what you suggested and now I'm completely lost: you would reward a good looper but under what circumstances would that person use gained tokens if they don't like stealthy gameplay, anyway?
I think sometimes people need to be reminded that DbD is a 4vs1. If you are chased you do it for the team with the likelihood of being caught / sacrificed eventually. It is the rest of the team that gets rewarded with precious seconds to finish their gens, thus winning the match.
-
They are not "doomed" but as newcomers they have a lot to learn.
Base content could include the first 10 chapters so that people can have more characters / perks to choose from. Not sure why they don't do this since cosmetics are still being purchased.
-
"..sit behind a rock for half the match."
Extremely rude categorisation of many players using this perk. I assume you lost a chase, got hooked, then your fellow survivor who was hiding escaped and a heated conversation ensued in endgame chat.
I'm fine with hiding and not learning the ropes of looping, thank you.
Distortion is an absolutely fine perk. The only time I lose all my tokens is when killers use more than one aura revealing perk. And I'm fine with that.
-
Interesting. Legion should not be an issue.
-
"...like that?"
Like that here means over 10K hours invested into DbD. That's 10K hours with active play involved. In fact, it's been a while since some of them uploaded a video on this milestone (Ayrun I think a compilation of the most memorable matches) so they are closer to 12K now.

Like why? What is it this time…
And before anyone says ‘toxic survivor main clicking every game’ no I’m not one of those, I just like to go for beam saves
Perfect time to practice them flashbangs.
Also, SWFs now use blastmines. Stunning is still possible.
-
Ah, yes, I remember some streamers talking about this. Nasty piece of work!
-
Can you confirm what the exploit is?
-
Flashlight have temporarily been disabled...
-
Isn't there a double XP event going on? I would assume it multiplies the number of players, hence the "easier" matches.
-
Skull Merchant always makes at least one survivor give up.
Some people get tired of tunnelling so they DC before the 3rd hook.
-
Probably something that will seriously reduce her "artillery" effectiveness.
-
Whole Rework: Myers? He is fine... the only thing he needs is some changes to his add-ons.
Fine: I mostly agree with this but Chucky is new so let's wait what happens in near-future patches.
-
These things should be noticed at the beginning. The team can make one or two gens disappear while the killer is elsewhere chasing survivors. But it is very strange... especially those 2 on the right are very close to one another.
-
I would say Dredge is the most fitting for a horror game.
-
1) Nurse: a guaranteed loss, always. But I appreciated people can use her.
2) Skull Merchant: was the rework good? No, I hate her more. I prefer 3-genning.
3) Doctor: annoying.
-
He catches you if you do Lithe if that helps with the answer.

Enjoy while it lasts. Survivors have already started to adapt from what I've seen. A lot of shift w in my games.
Same here.
For instance, a quick left or right turn after vaulting can help tremendously when Chucky is rushing towards you. They simply just can't turn that fast.
-
You mean slug is:
a) okay
b) not okay
What would you like to know? Who is the better slugger?
-
I think they are fine.
-
This is an issue with Wraith, to be honest. Wiping still takes time and the traps are difficult to notice in maps e.g. swamp.

I vote for the Angry Princess. 😜

In 2K hours I only saw 2 hackers in separate matches. Reported them immediately.

Agreed. Sick of killers tunneling me simply because my character is a high prestige and that for some reason means I'm asking to be targeted? Literally had a game where I was tunneled and the killers response was "p67 mikaela doesn't deserve to play the game"
Can it be they expected P69 instead? I believe you get it...
This must be a rare occurrence as high P usually means killers dodging. Truth be told I do the same if there are 3-4 high P players (closer to 100).
-
Nasty thing to do. Report in-game, submit a ticket and upload your record.

Love Tapp... BUT! his grill champ skin freaks me out. I find it a tad bit lame.

no
go play a different game if you want voice chat
i do not want to hear feng min screaming obscenities before she disconnects
I mean I'm sure the majority of us would start each match with muting everybody in a SoloQ match. I don't have an SWF group and I don't intend to get into any. No comms please!
Do we have statistical data on how many new players join DbD? Let's say each month. You've got to remember that starting afresh also means SoloQs will underperform.
