I'd love to see Alien but I just can't imagine it being slow. A Xeno runs, climbs and jumps. I just can't see him as DbD material.

I feel like a lot of killers in this game kinda take things too personal
I got a flashlight save so the killer proceeds to tunnel me and then face camp me out of the game
but luckily the 3 other survivors got out so...I don't know what I did to make them upset like that lol
and no this wasn't the a one time thing this actually happens a few games I get
At what stage of the match did this happen? You are saying all others successfully escaped. He needed to tunnel and camp you to have at least one kill as you guys were probably doing gens fast. You have experienced a typical match of the current DbD scene.
-
Gen regression and MMR, too. I have a 4K with Hag then I have a match next where 4 gens are done by the time I catch and hook the first survivor.
-
I think all FPS games can be played better on PC. As killers have the first person perspective PC has the upper hand.
I can't turn 360 degrees with a survivor quickly, though. I can't do moonwalking, either, but that doesn't prolong any chases lol.

That’s the point. He wants the perk to be unused like it is now.
No, I'm comparing it to "Potential Energy". Losing the tokens would be there as a risk.
Remember: you can make these stronger but have the other perks in mind, too.
-
The question is misleading. In the given answers you imply players have multiple instances of DbD. Why would I play on both PC and console?
I'll just reply here instead of voting: I find her a tad bit difficult as you can get used to the blinks relatively fast but it is difficult to determine what distance is best for you for loops.

It's pretty worthless nowadays. The additional layer of it turning off when a survivor dies is way too much too
Aye. I miss the old one.

Interesting poll. Nobody vote for half of it which is understandable.

Interesting masks. Personally, adding the "Wazzup?!" mask to the game was a dream come true for me. My 2nd wish would be Freddy's '84 face.

Trickster is a kpop artist with a baseball bat. He looks like he came from a kids game for christ's sake!! Banban on the other hand when in feral mode looks horrifying and fits in no less than Pyramid Head (who is literally just a guy with a triangle helmet).
I think this is becoming conversation similar to a very difficult chase in DbD: I just can't commit to it.
I'd recommend you posting a link with some gameplay as the one I watched looked very cartoonish.
I can't see it translate into DbD but you are more then welcome to explain.

Too cartoonish? Look at Bunny Feng, The Trickster, and Mr. Puddles and say that again.
That skin for Feng is not a base skin. It's like referring to the bunny cosmetics Legion has. Trickster looks very detailed and menacing when close up (he has the face of a real killer). His background is a different thing.
-
If my understanding is correct with the description you are proposing the rework itself.
Poised: How many max tokens would you have? 5 given the available gens? Make it so that in case you get hit you'll lose all you have.
-
I'm sure they will include something to make more appealing to your community. I want to believe we haven't seen the best chapters of the game, yet.
-
Legion is also great for survivor side BP farming as by Legion leaving you it means a successful escape. A nice long match with him is a guaranteed iridescent in 2-3 categories.
-
It's too cartoonish. Just wouldn't go together with the rest of the roster.
-
As killer: If it was a great match I do give them a hatch. And by great I mean exciting with chases and also progress on their end as well as on mine. To see they almost won but it didn't happen because they probably made a couple of mistakes. If t-bagging or flashy-flashy is involved where they seek to get my attention or just be rude they will never get a hatch.
As survivor: Farm? You mean healing at the end? I stay as long as I can unless I'm the last survivor. Standing at the gate even when injured is a distraction. Killers approach me and I leave. This might give the remaining team members precious seconds to unhook / survive. I help the others to heal. I never t-bag. I don't annoy the killer. I offer an item only when I'm let go.
DC: Yes, I show mercy but again it depends on the match. If there are 2 DCs I immediately offer the escape to the rest. If only one DC occurs I play the match as usual but let the last one go.
Offer: If it is a desperate attempt for them to leave I hook. An example: someone made fun of me while using the Artist on Midwich. Eventually, I managed to hold 3 gens. She approached me with an offer... I gave Nea a smack and hooked along with the rest of the team. I don't need an item to offer the hatch. If I catch people just after opening the gate I often allow them to leave. Most of the time I receive an offer as a token of their gratitude.
-
What happens during an anniversary? What makes it specific?
-
I used a med-kit with a syringe. I faced Nemesis so I could walk up to a zombie and let him hit me. That was the first heal. Then applied Balance Landing and there you go.
-
Interesting, I didn't know this could be an issue. When I started using Nightmare I noticed he is shorter and hitting survivors became easier when they want to turn in the last minute. I can understand the issue you're talking about.

Never expected such a thread. Enjoy and rest while being away (or you happen to play something else).
I'll do the same following this rift. A little less DbD and a little lower blood pressure. 🤓

When they add a new killer, new survivor, new map, then they need to adjust every existing element of the game to keep things balanced. Not to mention trying to keep two sides of a player base happy that constantly complain that the other side has it easier. Must be hard work, but I imagine they are generally happy.
This begs the question: why not skip a chapter? And devote some more time to balancing. I wouldn't mind it. Rifts are still fine as people get to decide if they want such rewards or not.

I'd love to hear your explanation with particular emphasis on Thrilling Tremors. And yes, how could I forget Alert? Good point!
-
"You could counter it."
Yeah, right. Not true, at all. If waited long enough the survivor knew it. If it happened near a window (where lunging was important to get a hit) you had no means to "mindgame" it. Another window lost, several more seconds added to an already extended chase.
What many of you forget is that DH is activated at will. Now it is the same but with a criterion in mind.
SB, Lithe and BL are all circumstantial. You can guess what will happen when in chase. I can't decide to activate Lithe at the 3rd vault. It will happen right away. I am approaching a Meg slowly walking away but looking at me. What is she going to do? You don't even need to ask.
When these 3 happen (rather sooner than later in a chase) you can still decide if you want to commit. With DH it happens often in the last minute and there you are already stubborn enough to say "I will want to see this through".

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/374598/nemesis-is-extremely-boring
I encourage you to play nemesis and see for yourself how utterly weak you can feel. The requirement of hitting 3 times means you are spending 90% of your chase catching up,at loops or even in the open whips are seldom guaranteed. He can only do so while you are in an animation, else his hitbox is so narrow you can dodge it quite consistently.
Even more counterplay can be found in his early game.At tier 1 he feels like the worst killer in the game.If you hit a survivor you just give them a speed boost. They can pre drop you just like a clown. You have to hit 2 different survivors to tier up(so 2 rough chases).
His zombies are weird. You can have a match where zombie screw you over and feel opressive, but other times they can even mess with the killer(they can bodyblock him).
If you play him for over 20 matches i assure you,you will have a greater respect and more fun facing him.His whip is a fun mindgame similar to huntress,if you can't dodge it to a decent degree then thats a skill issue.
He is low tier, however his chase isn't.His early game is rough, and his ability to pressure the map is limited.A strong chase is his strong suit, thats to be expected.
A good phead will use his power as a zoning tool or on guaranteed hits.He is also a top tier tunneler and doesn't need to hit you 1 million times. If you don't find him stronger then you are facing weak killers and you are inexperienced.
Your crouching argument makes no sesnse. If i jump over a Long wall or shack nemesis either whips me and can't hit me,or i simply walk away while he is holding it out.He is significantly slower, and it takes him a good second before he can interact with the window again.Keeping the whip out while walking around the window is something i've never seen done as a successful strategy, since it would take him forever to catch up.
This is very detailed, thank you.
In your opinion what made the number of Nemesis (Nemeses?) become smaller in games? This is what I've been experiencing (Europe, GMT+1).
Can it be that by nerfing Eruption a lot of people just don't trust this killer anymore?
-
I assume you mean base model without skins. Personally, I'd love to have a model for nurse where her face is visible. You can make it terrifying this way, too.
And Myers you guys already mentioned. Definitely a must.

The review issue is pretty much a review bomb by survivors who did the same on other platforms as well as on twitter or other media.
True, it is only temporary, but many outlined they would like to see better and / or more horror-like killers once again. Neither Knight nor SM were a success.
-
I don't think so. Reviews on Steam were negative for a long time (it is now "mixed"), plus, based on statistical data the number of players have significantly dropped.
-
Underrated: Wiretap
Pretty great as you can see the aura of the approaching killer. It is most useful when there is a chase near the gen you are repairing. Especially, when you are on a different floor. Due to the increasing terror radius your teammates already run away but you know you are safe. Not to mention that it is great from a distance (it does not last for long). I love it.
Overrated: Adrenaline
I never really use it. In SWF it is useful when it is a sweatfest so you can't even catch / hook the only person you'd be able to. But it is already lost on an SWF. In SoloQ I find it completely useless. Often there is a hooked individual already when the last gen pops so we have time healing, opening the gates and planning a rescue. I consider using it a waste of a slot.
Now onto the killers:
Overrated: Pentimento
I would never commit to taking the time to rekindle several totems. Especially now that Circle of Healing got nerfed. I rarely go around removing totems.
Underrated: Discordance
Yes, BBQ shows everybody in case they are far way. Great. But what if they don't work on gens? Discordance almost always shows gens with multiple people working on it. I just find it better and use it more often than BBQ.
-
Various hexes are more common such as Ruin or Plaything (especially the latter). Also Pentimento.
I see more often Killer using 4 hexes (sometimes none affect gen regressions).
On the survivors' side "We'll make it" became more common. I myself also use it as well as Distortion to counter "Nowhere to hide" and "Lethal Pursuer".

If a survivor really stands out for like Teabagging to be chased i usually wont chase them because i know those players are confident to loop lol.
True. The danger in getting angry is that you then chase and it will last an eternity. Typical of SWFs.
However, there are some (very few) instances when they make a mistake (run into walls, made a mistake at mindgaming etc.) which results in them being downed. An immediate (and mandatory) DC will follow. 😏

Wasn't that an issue in general on Haddonfield? Before the latest patch she could lock down a 3-gen and regress any progress very very quickly using the gen kick perks. I just don't see how she could be getting progress to regress well enough to cause a stalemate (hostage).
Well, I guess I need to "git gud". Going against her is difficult and I also use her so I'm pretty confident when it comes to knowing what to do.

Figured I'd play hillbilly as it's been a few months, almost every single match I did, the survivor where throwing hissy fits over how "op" he is. I mean seriously its freaking hillbilly. Anyways is this just me or are people forgetting that blight, spirit, nurse exist
No, people do not forget the killers you mention because they are ever present in the game.
Billy, on the other hand, is a rarity, hence the complaints. There was another thread about this but the killer was Demogorgon. It is rarely used which means you are probably great at using him. Take it as a compliment not a complaint.
Nowadays, Twins are a rarity but should you encounter them you'll probably be sacrificed along with the rest of the team due to similar reasons.

As someone regularly using killers this is highly appreciated. Especially the part where mics are turned off. 😍

I know I'm most likely in the minority here but I don't mind her after the nerfs to gen kick. Perhaps I have been lucky with the SM's I have faced can someone enlighten me on what the problem is now? I would take her over Nurse/Blight all day. I honestly wish Nurse/Blight would be deleted from the game so m1 killers can get the buffs they deserve instead of "can't do that it makes Nurse/Blight even stronger". Blight with some tweaks would be fine but Nurse needs to retire.
The 3-gen tactic has not changed much following her nerf. Essentially, she can still hold a match hostage (especially if it is a small one such as Haddonfield).
-
I would be happy to hear of a sequel but let's get some more chapters with some great killers that bring back the horror theme first...

What dignity?
I can handicap myself for Survivor fun all I want; I'll never be thanked. I don't get to win. And I get insulted.
I can handicap myself for Killer fun when I play with my friends: Same thing.
What do I get out of it? To think "Oh! I may have only got 2 hooks, and insulted, and told to uninstall; But at least the people telling me this had fun!"
I've been playing off and on since launch, and I have never, NEVER, had someone say "You know what? You could have camped me. You saw my teammate waiting to unhook me, and you walked away. Thanks." Or "Thanks for not tunneling the Meg." Or "Thanks for letting me sacrifice you after the gates were opened, so I could get some more BP."
Heck, I stopped giving hatch after I had three different people on the same day say "EZ. Noob Killer. Uninstall." When I carried them to the hatch and dropped them on top of it.
Yet they had this thought that, somehow, they beat me. I'm still wondering if they thought their previously-unknown psychic powers made me let them escape. 🤦♂️
I've also had people insult me for NOT giving them hatch. You know "Be happy with a 3K" and "Stop sweating for a 4K." They literally thought giving the hatch was expected, not a gift for me to give out at my choice.
So again; Why, when I'm playing either side, should I care about anyone's fun over my own?
I care about everyone's fun insofar as:
- I don't DC
- I don't insult people.
- I don't sandbag.
- I don't cheat/Use bugs.
I make sure everyone can play the game as intended; Without greifing, cheating, or being a massive jerk. But when it comes to trying to win; I will try my hardest, and don't expect any less from anyone else.
Small note on my part: Sometimes I thank the killer for playing fair (due to the number of camps and tunneling I see) and survivors sometimes do the gg and add "killer, you too". It feels nice to a certain degree but the compliment stems from the aforementioned issues. It's just crazy nowadays and you literally don't know what will happen in the endgame chat.
-
I was looking forward to such a thread as I was wondering if people use it even if they are not hearing impaired.
It helps tremendously when there are other sounds effects. Plus, the animation looks great.
And the heart appears just a split second before the radius is heard.
-
I love facing him because he is a rarity. This also means that I assume Demo mains use him or players who've been playing DbD for several years now. For me Demo is just as odd as Wesker: I hate and love being chased by them due to the great music themes they have.
-
Great idea! But make it scary. Honestly, a sci-fi horror themed killer would help the game's fame greatly.
It can be thin but make it tall and menacing. Also, the accompanying level could have otherworldly objects, sounds... I always felt Eyrie of Crows was unique in that regard (think about that black goo-ish stuff emanating from the ground) so this would follow from a design perspective (but it can be a bit more far-fetched).
-
One of the few things very irritating in this game. At higher MMR this becomes very common - should you tunnel in return you get the nasty remarks at the end.
-
What's a Microsoft Store? Is there a DbD available beside Steam and Epic?
-
This is how SM works. Nerfing the strategy itself would mean removing the drones or making them work in a completely different way.
-

It's the same thing for me (EU server), I assume it's because people work during the day so sweaty swf can only play together at night. Also I can't imagine a very casual player, solo or not, playing past 1 am.

Yeah, thats always the case with this kinda things and I don't care enough to look someones screenname up a month later or something, lol.
Ehm, blocking only disables the person from friending you etc. but you can still get thrown into a match with each other at random. Otherwise you could just block all the decent playes and only stomp babies.
I thought so about the matchmaking but you are saying "etc." Can you elaborate? Do you still see their comments?
-
Late at night it can get so bad that I even leave lobbies in SoloQ where there are 3 Fengs wearing identical shirts. Durings one such match they didn't even save me but applied Reassurance twice to extend my time on the hook. They casually finished the gens and left. Let's not even talk about the endgame chat content after. I consider that a successful report on my part.
-
Toolboxes are useful. I have tons of them so I feel like I have to use them. Regardless of BNP. Keys are the only items I almost never use, plus, the many offerings that are useless.
