  • SBMM will be a bliss for survivors and hell for killers.

Even if you play S Tier killers like Nurse or Spirit you will still have to sweat like hell because gen rush is more powerful than anything else in this game.

I think many killers will stop playing if SBBM is going to stay. It just doesn't work in a 4 vs 1 game that is totally inbalanced due to rng, perks and different killer powers.

  • HOW ABOUT YOU FING FIX THE REASONS PEOPLE HAVE TO DC INSTEAD OF PUNISHING THEM FOR THE ACTIONS OF OTHER PEOPLE??? GET A FING CLUE

I understand where you are coming from but my personal expierences with were quite different and probably the main reason for the DC penalty.

When the DC penalty was turned off there was almost every game a survivor who disconnected. The reasons were: downed too fast, getting outplayed or not enjoying the game/killer.

The majority of the player base has a mentality of giving up easily if something doesn't go their way.

And that's exactly why we still need the DC penalty.

I know that it sucks in cases where you really would have a good reason to DC but then just take the 5 minutes and move on. Not every game is like the one you described here.

Can you put a screenshot showing the Emblems etc that you got please?

No sorry I forgot to take a screenshot. I only realized that I didn't get my adept after leaving the lobby.

But I can assure you that I got my perfect game in all categories.

  • I almost never see Freddy. Don't know why so many people are hating a killer that is rarely being used.

  • I am having the same issues right now with Doctor.

I had a very long game, 12 hooked everyone and one gen was left. The outcome was Brutal.

This game is a joke right now

  • It is a really weird experience for me.

When I play survivor I get hit meters away from the killer and when I play killer it sometimes feels like my lunge is non existent.

I am normally a pretty good nurse player but after the update my blinks have lost their on point precision.

I don't think the new hitboxes are only a problem for survivors.

  • You do you boo. It's as simple as that.

  • And I thought I was the only person that had a lot of eye pain while playing.

    Killer main btw

  • I have very mixed experience in Solo Queue.

Yes, sometimes your teammates are garbage but a lot of times people actually know what to do.

It is such a nice feeling playing Solo Queue with an optimal team and every play you make is actually based on skill and not on an unfair communication with your friends.

This gives me the feeling of playing the game how it was designed to be played and these experiences are probably why I still play Solo Queue.

I agree that killer makes a lot more fun but it is also a dozen times more stressful. Sometimes it's just nice to play Survivor.

  • I could drown myself in green tea. Had times where I consumed about 2 liters a day.

  • Well... skins are the main income for the Devs. Besides from new Chapters and Rift''s there isn't any reason to spend money in this game. And that's a good thing. It's not pay to win.

I would honestly not care to spend more money for a skin and support the Devs if there would be any good reason to support them. But sadly there isn't at the moment.

I would love to by skins but they are not seeing any money from me until they deserve it.

  • Old Freddy was pretty unique but he was also weak due to not being able to interact with survivors until they were asleep.

DBD is all about time efficiency and the seconds it took him to put people into the dream stage was too much. Also, waking yourself up was extremely easy and had no real downside to it. Failling a skillcheck and giving up your location to him wasn't that detremntal because you still had a head start everytime he started a chase with you.

The most problematic situations for old Freddy were when injured survivors were running to the exit gates. You were pretty much safe in these scenarios and he couldn't hit you.

Was his power more fun to play or play against? Probably. But it sadly was not well designed for the meta of the game.

It would be nice if the nerfed version of Freddy would be a mix of the old and the new one.

  • I would love to see Pennywise eventhough we already have a clown.

    And Sadako from The Ring.

  • No. There are times where it is important to force people into the second hook stage. You'll see that alot in tournaments.

Also, camping is the only thing you can do in the endgame to get at least one more kill.

Honestly rank means nothing in terms of matchmaking and I don’t need to 12 hook everyone, I don’t think anyone here understands what I mean when I use the term challenging. Victory, such as it applies to this game, is not at all the same as challenging, otherwise I would have use that word. And I do play without camping or tunneling in case you have assumed that I don’t

Rank means alot when it comes to matchmaking. Sure, you will get your red ranks player too if you are in green ranks but it does work in most of the times. When I play at rank 1 I mostly get the ranks I should. Doesn't mean that these players have the skill level that they should have at these ranks but you will face a lot of high skill survivors.

Come back if you have reached Rank 1 and stayed there for a long time. The experience that you are describing is common among new killers but it's a false premise. No killer main will ever say that they are not challenged enough. As long as games can end in 5 minutes and you can't do anything about it, there is no way that the game needs to be harder for killer.

You have probably encountered a lot of boosted survivors and Solo queue players.

But hey...if your current games are kinda boring because the survivors are all potatoes try low Tier killers. Or try to adept Nurse, Huntress or Blight. Long learning curves but high reward.

Fun fact. Playing during peak times means you're actually significantly more likely to get lower ranked/worse survivors due to the sheer difference in player counts. I only get good matches against good players during the day time. I don't even play killer in the evenings anymore as its too easy.

For me it is the complete opposite since most SWF's are playing in the evening.

  • Get to rank 1 consistently and you will have enough challenge, especially if yo play in the evening.

Try to play the game in a respectful way. Don't try to camp, tunnel and slug. Try to 12 hook everyone.

If you'll do that you will see how easy it is for survivors to do gens and escape.

    Good luck on your journey.

My Legion is not downing survivors with his power, you can clearly see that Frenzy ended (FRENZIED +4) then the hit (HIT +300) then the chase ended (CHASE +78).

    Ah okay.

It's interesting though that the power bar is reacting in a total different way.

That's literally by design, and is completely preventable by a survivor. Don't blind at the pallet. Just like with Doctor, don't camp a pallet against a Doctor. You going to tell me Doctor denying you a pallet drop when you camped the pallet is an exploit too?

I don't think it is intentional that Legion can down a survivor with his power due to the flashlight tech. He normaly can't down people with it, so it is in my opinion an exploit. (And yes, I am aware that the blind breaks you out of your power but you can clearly see in the video that his power was still active while he was blinded and it ended after he downed the survivor. That just seems wrong and shouldn't work honestly)

I don't really mind if Legion's are doing it though. Props to you if you get the timing right.

No stop trying to justify this lol. Killers rarely get robbed of hits. Aim dressing happens maybe once or twice if it happens. Bad hits happen all the time. I can show you clips of me getting these bad hits as killer, they look like they dont even connect.

Guess we have different experiences then. I play a lot of killer and it happens a lot, especially if you play huntress. I can't count the times that a hatchet flew right through the survivor without injuring them. Grabs are also a huge thing, probably the counterpart to dedicated hits on survivor side.

I never wanted to justify anything. Devs should definetly work to fix these issues. But I can't stand the talk about "survivor sided" or "killer sided". You are basically saying in your post that survivor suffer more from dedicated server issues which is simply not true and just amplifies the whole drama around this topic even more.

  • Former hag main here.

Very good perks for hag are: Corrupt, STBFL, Nurse's, Monitor and Abuse, Make your Choice, Sloppy, Knockout

Not so good perks for her:

    -Ruin

Hag is extremely slow and doesn't have a lot of map pressure in the start. That's why you want to use Corrupt on her. If you have set up your traps, you shouldn't be too worried about gens anymore because hag gets stronger the more gens are done. You don't really want to use your traps to protect gens but rather place them at places where survivors will run to. Ruin is only good on killers who are aggressive in their playstyle. Hag isn't though. You want survivors to step into your traps and not chase them off gens the whole entire match. If you still want an extra gen slowdown perk use Pop but hag honestly doesn't need that much.

    -BBQ

Basically a similar reason: Hag is too slow to use BBQ efficiently. You don't want to waste time and walk across the whole entire map. The information that BBQ is giving to you is in most scenarios completely useless. The only good thing about BBQ for hag is Bloodpoints. Only use it if you want to farm them.

  • It goes for both sides. Killers don't get hits they deserve and survivors get hits they don't deserve. Everyone suffers from these issues. Idk why survivors think it is only superior to them to experience these undeserved hits.

  • These aren't exploits though. It's just a way to play a killer.

An exploit would be the Legion tech when survivors flashlight you on a pallet.

  • It's pretty much the same with NOED. Everyone says you are a bad killer if you use it. Same goes for many other things in the game.

Why even bother? Just use what you want

  • I would say making the Torn Bookmark add on as her basekit would be a good nerf (if survivors and the maps would be nerfed like you suggested).

She would still be able to blink but only through objects that she can see over and she would have 3 blinks. Still strong but definetly weaker.

  • The simple answer is: you can't.

There will always be a person who has a problem or will lie to make you look bad. Just play in a way that you think is fine and smart and don't care about the cry babies in the endgame chat.

  • I never really used Mori's and I think nerfing the Ebony Mori was very needed but nerfing the green one in the exact same way was unnecessary. Being able to take one survivor quickly out of the game if you have a sweaty group is in my opinion fine.

  • She feels different after the update. That's all I can really say.

They changed the throw animation a little bit which might be the reason for it.

  • The problematic thing is that the EAC system doesn't work properly.

I once stumbled upon a website where people could post every existing hack and how you can work around the EAC programm.

It appears to me that it is relatively easy to hack in this game which might be the reason for the increased amount of hackers, although, I have to say, I didn't encounter any hacker for a long time. Or at least no obvious one.

  • That's why I always grab a tea when they don't want to leave or watch a video on Youtube. If they really want to waste their time I will make sure to enjoy mine.

  • True. If you turn off crossplay on PC when you play survivor, you'll find lobbies much quicker.

But another reason is also the increased amount of survivor players and swf's in the evening. While I find survivor lobbies pretty fast in the morning it takes a very long time in the evening.

  • You seem to have invested these 3k hours only in playing survivor though.

  • Huntress is in my opinion the most rewarding killer in the game. She also has the highest skill cap, at least in my opinion.

I find playing Nurse far more easier than mastering every possible shot with Huntress. But that's probably subjective.

Anyways...crossmap shots are for me the most rewarding thing in the whole game.

I also like the feeling when I play hag and I down multiple people at the same time because they step in my traps.

Oh...and Demo's shred also feels pretty rewarding.

  • They feel superior, especially when they linger around at the exit gates because they know they are untouchable at this point. Survivors have so many second chance perks with no real counter and if they don't do a mistake at looping they will not get caught when they play against the average M1 killer.

This game gives small egos a little boost.

You can also see this kind of behaviour when you play against certain killers but survivors tend to be more cocky because most of them know that they are indeed the power role.

I always feel very bad for these types of indivuals because they clearly suffer from a low selfesteem.

Just don't go to the exit gates anymore if you don't have a reason.

  • Ebony Mori's needed a nerf. But they could have at least let the green one stay how it was. There is no real reason anymore to use a Mori because it doesn't pressure survivors. The only time where it could be useful is in the endgame when someone gets unhooked in the struggle phase and has DS. But that's just too situational.

  • In the three years of playing this game I only encountered this add on once. It is very rare. An infinite Tier 3 is more common and even that is in my opinion not a huge threat if survivors aren't feeding him his stalk.

Scratched Mirror is more of a gimmick build and I honestly don't mind if Myers wins with it. I think it is very funny and refreshing.

I don't really understand how someone could hate Scratched Mirror but I respect your opinion nevertheless.

Listen to his breathing and footsteps. Myers is pretty loud when he approachs. This and flicking your camera the whole time is probably the only way to dodge his hit when you don't have Spine Chill.

And honestly...just enjoy the jumpscares. This is the only time when DBD is actually a horror game.

  • Buffing his hit and run strategy is a very good thing for him since that is basically the only way to play him effectively.

He will not be too strong because he is a basic M1 killer when it comes to looping but he will get a lot more chances to get hits.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1817474#Comment_1817474

So you suffer more than survivors because you lose what? a gen grab in 2/3 games? And that's somehow worse than getting hit thru everything and from 50 meters away every single game, multiple times.

Yes. A denied grab is huge. That's two hits and a long chase you don't need to waste your time on. I played a lot of Ghostface for the gen grab challenge and I wasn't able to finish it without having to farm with the survivors because the game didn't let me grab them properly.

I never said survivors don't suffer from dedicated hits. They do. But killers have denied gen grabs AND denied dedicated hits on top.

And don't forget it is a 1 vs 4 game. It's not a big deal for one survivor to get dedicated. But it is a huge deal if a killer gets dedicated and doesn't get the down that he needs to pressure the rest of the team.

Getting hit every single game from 50 meters away? I think that is more of a connection problem on your side. I play a lot of Solo survivor and I don't get dedicated every single game.

  • Grabs have been fine before the release of dedicated servers. They are very rare nowadays which just shows that something isn't working right. That sure goes for both sides but killers suffer a lot from all the denied grabs the game is giving to them.

  • Survivors are able to loop the average M1 killer for 5 gens (if they are good of course) which shouldn't be possible at all. The killer should be the power role when it comes to 1vs1 because he has to take care of three other individuals as well. And even if he can actively end chases the gens are going way too fast because survivors spread out and there is nothing you can do about it.

I take Nurse as an example. My Nurse is pretty damn good. But I still have games where I down survivors back and forth in a very quick time and survivors just spread out and rush gens and there is nothing I can do without slugging the whole team. In conclusion: I do extremely well but I still can't win. And this is a very common killer problem.

You don't have time for long chases but even if you apply a good amount of pressure a coordinated team can still win the game eventhough you are completely dominating them.

Then we have the hatch mechanic. It punishes the killer for doing well because the hatch will spawn if you kill the third survivor. And if you close the hatch the survivor has another chance of escaping. Survivors hate when killers slug for the 4k but it just feels totally undeserved if the game gives one survivor two free escape options if you manage to "win".

And the last problems are the devs. They seem to not have a clue about killers at all. Therefore they made a lot of questionable decisions in the past (nerfing Ruin, Pop, implementing breakable walls that you need to break or you will have infinites) while completely ignoring the balance issues. They are still avoiding the questions when it comes to a potential DS nerf. They are still not considering to rework the whole SWF system which is the main reasons why killers have a hard time in the game. And they don't care for the sound bugs on the killer side that are in the game for almost a year now. But if survivors have an issue it will be patched in less than two weeks which is understandable because the survivor side is 4 times louder than the other side.

I don't want to say that the game itself is survivor sided but it definitely is easier for survivors who have a decent amount of knowledge and skill. And the devs are only providing band-aid fixes for killers instead of actually reworking the main problems. Undying is just another tool to "fix" the issue that killers don't have efficient gen slowdown options. It honestely sucks that you have to sacrifice at least two perk slots just for gen slow downs or the game is just not playable as killer while as a survivor you can equip meme perks and do well.

I just realised I sounded like such a bi* ** ! I wasn’t meant to come across that way lol, but yeah I get you. It’s just so hard to reply to so many responses and when I have to repeat myself it’s like ohhhh whyyy..

No, it's fine. I completely understand you.

You’ve basically repeated what someone else has said, so I really cba to type it all again, but yes they need to rework the idea. Basically.

Ah I am very sorry. I didn't read the other replies, just wanted to add my person opinion :)

  • My personal problem is that it allows the whole team to escape. I don't care how many people are left. Even if it used in endgame it can be very gamechanging depending on the spawn location of the hatch.

Doing gens is the most easiest thing in the game and in Red ranks one hook normaly equals 2-3 gens. It's very easy for survivors to get to the point where they can use their key, especially in a SWF. And the more people the killer kills and the better he is doing the more dangerous it gets for him. Even Mori's were better designed than the current hatch mechanic. The killer suffers for playing well. Doesn't make any sense at all.

  • Survivors who potentially all equip their strongest toolboxes (in a SWF) are indeed problematic, at least in my opinion. Gens already go way too fast if people spread out properly.

The general gen speed problem isn't really a community problem though. You want to be efficient if you play survivor and the only objectives are gens. I don't blame people for doing that. That's something that the Devs should look into. I still have hope that a proper rework will be coming in the future. That would justify the questionable Pop nerf.

  • There are certain loops who have the potential to be an infinite without Bloodlust. It is rare for a good killer to even get to Tier 1 but in certain situations and with specific killers it is inevitable and needed.

  • It is only smart to pressure the team as much as you can. If I have the opportunity to slug, even at 5 gens, I will do it. If I get the feeling that the team is not coordinated, I will most likely give them another chance (eventhough that can easily backfire in the end).

  • I personally think Legion is fine how he is.

His power is strong against low rank survivors and might come off a little bit oppressive but it really isn't. He has the same issues as many killers: In a chase he is a simple M1 killer. He doesn't have an active ability to end chases. Therefore he isn't really a threat against decent and experienced loopers.

You can do obviously very fine with him if you use him wisely but he doesn't need a nerf. The first version of Feral Frenzy that has been released was indeed OP. But right now his power is not anywhere near being OP. Good survivors will make his ability useless because they don't heal against him.

What makes him "strong" is waste peoples time. But if survivors don't heal anymore and stick to gens it becomes very hard for Legion.
