That's why I don't go to the exit gates anymore if I have clearly no chance of getting someone. I don't need to watch people transforming into small babies as soon as they reach a safe zone, so I rather try to find the hatch and get some extra points.

"Unlike many, I want camping to be in the game. However, I want it to be in the form of Bait & Ambush, not blatantly sitting there waiting for a survivor to die."
"I don't know about you, but when I play survivor, I play for the action and pressure, not to hold M1 for 3 minutes while I play walking simulator. So a camping killer does in fact harm more than just the hooked survivor, it's also lessening the overall game for the rest of the survivors..."
As I've repeated, I am not talking about generic camping, I'm talking about a specific, toxic form of it. This thread does not pertain to a fake roam, doubling back to catch someone. It's not about someone doing a close patrol, quickly running here and there to catch someone out of position. It's not about anything other than a killer blatantly camping, just sitting there, doing nothing, waiting for someone to approach.
Whatever issue you think generator repair speed is causing, it doesn't have anything to do with this specific kind of camping. Even if you rework how the game works on a base level, leaving in the ability to gain anything of substance from this form of camping just leads to toxic, unfun games. Killers need to be active or they need to be deceptive, being stationary and obvious is counter to their role.
Some of you responding seem to be laboring under this idea I want killers nerfed and it's so unfair to be a survivor. I play Survivor/Killer roughly 50/50. I want the toxic forms of both mitigated and mediated so that Survivors don't feel the need to bring every single get-out-of-jail option they can, while killers don't feel the need to bring several ways to expose survivors, moris and camp. The only way you do that is taking each issue and coming up with a workable solution: in this case, an anti-camping mechanism targeted at blatant camping.
Maybe generator repair speeds are too fast, maybe repair rates need to be nerfed for two and three survivor repairs, while four man repairs get buffed. Maybe allowing just some time for a killer to breathe would take the edge off and allow killers to actually impact the game without having to optimize every single action. That's a discussion completely separate to this, where one side has the power to remove.exe someone and potentially ruin their experience and the other three survivors.
I understand what you mean but I honestly see it as a non issue. There are things people can do in this game that is unfun. But the game itself is interesting because everyone is free to decide how they want to play. I can't really see a way to prevent face camping. And it doesn't really happen that often that it is an issue in my eyes.
There are things that needs to be changed and things that only needs a change of mindset. I think this case is easily solved if we all be more chill about this game and the outcome of our games. Not every game will be brilliant but we won't face a camping bubba or an ebony nurse every single time we press "Ready".

I really like this. Sounds like a lot of fun and like a lot of jump scares.

Instead of talking about why killers shouldn't be camping and what the devs can do against it we should rather ask ourselves this question: Why are killers camping? (toxic reasons are excluded from this)
The increased camping and tunneling has only one reason: gen speed.
I will guarantee you that if the devs will make the game more balanced and killers can actually go for the 12 hooks, there will be less campers in the game.
So instead of implemeting a punishment to a side that already is punished and needs to use everything what it has to win, the game should finially get a good rework.
Just a litte reminder at this point: one gen done is equal to 20% completion of the survivors objective while one hook is only 8% of the killers objective. Sure you might argue that one gen takes around 80 seconds but 80 seconds is nothing. One good chase from the survivor side is worth over half a gen (and this doesn't include taking the person to a hook and traveling time to stop a gen that can be extremely far away because of the RNG). And this isn't a 1 vs 1. While one survivor is being chased three others are free to do gens and the killer can't do anything about it. THIS needs to change and if it will change the campers will vanish. Not all of them ofc, because toxic people will always exist but most of the camping killers you see aren't toxic. They are just as frustrated of the game as you are in your post right now.

Technically, if you are the last survivor, you are already dead. If your team didn't managed to do all the gens it's a 4k. Having a second (hatch) and third option (powering the exit gates when the hatch is closed) to escape is a very debatable thing in DBD and a reason why many killers slug for their deserved 4k. ( Oh... I have completely forgotten the fourth option: Finding/bringing a key and opening the hatch WHENEVER you want, even when the killer has already closed it and getting as many people out of the game as you want. Yeah...poor survivors. This game is very unfair and it must be hard to die because the exit gates are too close to each other *sob*)
Complaining about something that is completely RNG eventhough the game is still kissing your a* multiple times when you have lost is...interesting.
Don't take my comment as offensive or something. It isn't. I just think that this is a non issue if you think about what I just have written. We all should be thankful as survivors that we have so many second chances in this game while killers have to sweat a lot.

This----^
This is how you play killer. I don't give two flips about kills. You want to kill the community? - Chase kills and never stop.
I disagree about it being survivor sided, but the bit about how to play killer. Couldn't agree more.
Let me clarify what I mean with survivor sided.
I am not refering to any kind of meta perks or the fact that one single survivor can loop a killer for a total of 5 gens.
Let's look at the actual objectives: gens and kills.
A normal match at red ranks, decent survivors and a killer that can't pressure a loop actively like nurse or doctor:
In the start all survivors will immediately go to a gen, even spawning on them while the killer is at his weakest and needs to find survivors first. One generator takes a total of 80 seconds while the killer needs to 12 hook everyone to get his kills (that's at least how we all want to play). The killer will eventually find a survivor and chase him for, let's say, 23-30 second (or even longer if a strong loop is available). After he downed him gens will be around 60-70 percent. He then will take the survivor to a hook which takes around 5-7 seconds. The killer will then look around with BBQ or will go immediately to a gen. Depending on the map size and the distance the gen is having to the hooked survivor the killer might be able to at least stop one gen from being done. In the worst case (and that happens very often) he won't make it and 3 gens will be popping.
Around the time the killer has hooked one survivor which is a total of 8% of his objective survivors have done around 40-60% of their own objective. (and even if only one gen got completed because the other two were doing nothing efficient then this is still 20% compared to 8%).
That's why 12 hooking isn't working and that's why I said this game is survivor sided. The percentages are speaking for itself and this game isn't balanced at all.
And as long as the percentages are staying that way killers will not stop to tunnel or camp. Tunneling is at some point a valid strategy if it is being done at a crucial point in the game.
-
Even if the killer get's alot of points it doesn't mean he pips.
And why are killers playing like that? Simple. Because the gen speed is too fast to 12 hook people. You can't play fair in most matches if you want your kills. I, for example, play fair because I don't have fun in tunneling and camping and most of my matches are a brutal because I get around 1-2 kills. Most of the times I actually get a 4k is when there is an opportunity to slug everyone fair and square. But that still isn't 12 hooking everyone. I don't mind, because I see "winning" in this game a little bit different and I just accept that there will be games where I don't get any kills eventhough I played very well, but other killers don't have that kind of mentality. The only way to get consistent kills is with tunneling, slugging and pseudo camping. That was also a common playstyle in the recent tournament.
So yeah, because this game is survivor sided, there will be killers who will play like this to get their kills. It's not fun but it's understandable. Even with nurse it get's pretty hard to pressure gens if you have a decent team. And she is still the most powerful killer in the game.
And let's be real: if a killer camps and tunnels and he still get's NOED in the end eventhough he didn't even tried to pressure the whole team, then that's definitely the fault of the survivors. It's not that hard to cleanse 5 totems. It really isn't.

That would just push the child mentality in this game even more. We already have rage quitting survivors back and forth for no real reasons. I don't think it is a good idea to support these kinds of attitudes. People need to accept that there are games that don't play out the way they want them to. You can't just skip everything that you don't like. That's not how life works. And you don't learn anything from it. People who DC against certain types of killers will never improve in the game.
Everyone is responsible for their own fun in the end. Yes, a camping bubba isn't fun but instead of raging just accept it and move on. There will be other games. But if your fun is so dependant on the behaviours of others then it's better to stop playing Multiplayer games all together.
-
Technically it isn't bannable because contrary to what some people are claiming it isn't equal to holding the game hostage. There is a bleed out function which actually prevents that. Yes, it takes a lot of time but eventually the survivors willl die. The only way to hold someone in the game is to block them in a corner until they are forced to DC. That's bannable.
Is it toxic? Maybe. I would rather call it unfun. But in the end everyone is free to play how they want to. If that's something that is fun to you then do it. Won't really get you very far though considering the game is punishing you for one hooking people.
Maybe it would help you if you change your perspective about winning and not caring so much if you kill someone or not. I will guarantee you that your matches will be better (and most importanly more fun) if you see DBD from a more relaxed side. You can't win every game and you shouldn't attempt to do it. A win can also be a very intense and very well played match from both sides where everyone escapesi in the end. Seeing winning only as black and white isn't a very healthy mindset and will lead to a lot of frustration which is showing itself in your playstyle.

I am just reporting every damn rage quitter and hope that they will collect so many reports that behaviour can't ignore it anymore. It annoys me that everytime I perform well as killer (and it really doesn't matter who I play) survivors are instantly rage quitting instead of just accepting the loss like a decent human being. I just have to find someone too early or down someone too quickly and boom, DC. This game is just full of babies at this point.
I hope they will implement the penality or something similar again. We really need it.

Was the survivor using Quick and Quiet perhaps?
No. And quick and quiet only works one time with a cd. They were repeating the action a lot of times right after another.

I have also choosen Trapper to get a rework. He is a fun killer but way to weak in his current state.
And for the most oppressive one I have choosen the Doctor because I just hate playing him and playing against him. It's just spamming his shock till you get someone. Hiding is also almost impossible. Just feels very boring to play him, not very rewarding and skillfull at all.

I like this idea. Especially since the new graphic updated maps suddenly have more trees than before. At least that's what it looks like to me.

Look at you kids who think you're cool. "Oh I'll just spam the unhook acton, oh I'll just let you try and Kobe and die" you guys are pathetic asf for that. Majority the time I try and Kobe is because you other 3 were dumb as all hell and weren't doing anything. Then hops on a gen for 1 second and claims you actually did something. Lol majority the time I Kobe in their face and in glad for it. Also majority the maps are so small. You're that lazy you don't want to go t another part of the map?! Ohhh nooo God forbid the babies don't get their way.
It's not about being lazy, it's about having a toxic mindset and wasting someones time in a game where time is a big thing. I am leaving gens so often just to not finish the gen and then someone kobe's. Nice. Ofc if teammates are not doing anything at all it is also frustrating but you can be sure that all people who complain on this post are being efficient. I would never go out of my way and complain about others behaviour if I would just hide in a corner all game. And having the mindset of "if you are not doing anything I will kobe into your face" is also not helping the community at all. Sure, you can do what you want but I don't think that's something you should aim for.

Killer sounds have been bugged for many months now eventhough the devs are very aware of that issue.
Survivors are sometimes completely muted on the ground, having free iron will and now you sometimes can't even hear footsteps anymore, especially during a chase. It is very easy to lose a survivor now mid chase because the sound isn't working properly. I have also noticed that scratch marks aren't working how they should from time to time. Very frustrating for killers but hey...as long as it only affects killers negatively they will probably never change it xD
-
Hag makes every loop unsafe with her traps, that's why she is so strong. She is also able to be almost everywhere on the map at the same time which makes her one of the most strongest snowball potential killers in the game. (I had games where I downed 3 people in under 10 seconds).
She also profits from gens being done because survivors are being forced deeper into her web.
-
You shouldn't forget that it is a 4 vs 1 game and not a 1 vs 1. Survivors being able to see the killers profile and therefore his latest archievements which can give them a clue about what kind of killer they might face, will give them a very unfair advantage.
