I understand your point but what are console players supposed to do. Literally everyday my game crashes atleast twice. One if my friends logged in earlier into swf with me, his game froze halfway though a gen sent him to the home screen. He reloaded the game only to find out he got a penalty. How is that fair? I also get hit miles away from a window yet I pay for top tier internet, I'm hard wired with no lag in other games. But this one seems like it's still in development.
I am not talking about console players. You guys have all my sympathy for what is going on with your games right now and I hope they will fix your issues soon.

But at least it's something to replace the person that disconnected. A bot can work on objectives, and the Killer can still get a kill if need be. Honestly it's kind of a win-win. But at the very least bots should definitely exist in a practice mode.
Considering the objectives of survivors aren't taken very long this would only increase the frustration of being gen rushed.
I would say that Bots could only work if the player disconnected before his first hook. Everything after that is too much time invested and not a win win for both sides.
-
I would say go for Plague. All her perks are good, if not very good.
A downside to her power right now is that it seems to be bugged (like so many other things. BHVR FIX YOUR GAME), so I don't know if you want to play her instantly or are more interested in her perks.
Regardless of the buggs, her power is pretty unique, not that easy to master and definitely makes a lot of fun. She is probably the only killer where her power and playstyle changes completely, depending on what the survivors are doing. Totally worth to buy her.

If you play with a controller I feel bad for you, aim "dressing" is really bad for controller players.
No I am not. But it happens a lot more in my games than it used to in the past. It's really frustrating tbh.
-
Nurse is heavily bugged right now. Maybe that's the reason for it.
-
As someone that plays a lot of killer and also uses it, I can tell you that most survivors in my games don't seem to have a problem with cleansing bones. If everyone looks out for them the game isn't easy for the killer. Infact the new ruin is fine how it is. If you are able to stay on the gen then you can still gen rush through this combo.
When I play survivor and face this combo I also don't feel overwhelmed by it, eventhough I only play Solo queue. It makes cleansing totems more satisfying and most of my games are not affected in an extreme negative way by it.
Killers need gen slowdown, that's why everyone is using it. It's certainly not stopping survivors from winning.
-
A practice mode would be great.
But I am not sure about bots tbh.
There are a lot of survivors who are disconnecting on death hook. Imagine sweating your ass of to kill someone just to get that person replaced with a bot that is able to do gens and even more. That would honestly break the game.

@Chechia it's been that way ever since they first implemented dedicated servers. Once they disabled them everything went to hell on my end for no apparent reason. I will say ever since pyramid heads release I didn't have a single lag issue or disconnect issue until they started the Halloween event. The day of the event starting is when my game started to crash outrageously and I started disconnecting for no reason. I love dead by daylight for what it is but, if there's a part of the game that isn't working correctly then the logical thing is to remove it until it does. You can browse the forums and find numerous dc ban posts every single day and that's just from the player base that knows of the forums and actively posts here. The silent majority exists and it's impossible for us to comprehend how big the problem is just from the posts here alone.
That honestly sucks. I hope that they will fixed these issues along with all the other bugs that are currently in the game.

It doesn’t run smoothly though. I see people dc in cross play all the time.
it cannot really be argued against that this penalty system needs to work differently. It needs to do 1 of 3 things bare minimum. Every other dc penalty I know of has a certain level of fairness attached to it in the case that it could have been a mistake. This one doesn’t. And it’s keeping me from playing the game. Time to call my bank and dispute any charges related to this game and get my money back. Because I feel robbed of my money when this kind of stuff happens.
Yeah console players have big issues at the moment, that's true. I am only talking about PC.
The DC penalty is needed, but it would be nice if they could only apply it to the people who actively press the button to leave the game.

@Chechia I'm not trying to argue or anything but dude, I play destiny 2 every single day with zero issues with lag. I play halo daily as well with zero lag. Dead by daylights graphics don't hold a candle to those games man. It's not the graphics, it's their game having issues and it's really that simple man. It's increasingly frustrating we get dismissed as the minority everytime we post something or we get smacked with people who wanna insult us or blame us. It's demoralizing especially when you've done nothing wrong.
I get what you mean and I understand your frustration. But I for example don't have these issues with the game and my PC isn't the newest one either. So I honestly don't know what causes these problems and I am also not sure if it has something to do with the game itself. It doesn't make sense that some people barely have any issues and some people do have them a lot.

@greekfire774 said:
Don't worry buddy. @MandyTalk informed me that it's our fault their game bans people because it's our responsibility to not have "bad internet". I literally told them I play destiny 2 daily with zero lag ever and yet, it's still my internet's fault and not the development teams fault. Don't worry behavior just blames us now so they don't have to address issues.
Well I mean...many other people in the community don't have the problem that the game is crashing. So it is just normal to assume that it has do you with your PC or your internet connection and not with the game itself.
Not a very helpful response, I agree on that, but the game runs smoothly for the majority of players.
The only thing I can recommend at this point is playing on lower resolutions. Since the new graphic updates have been released, playing on Ultra or high has become very laggy, at least for me.

I agree. I liked his concept eventhough it was weak.

I didn't say the game was easy. I said it's easy to rank up. It's just a measure of time not skill.
Yeah, I know. And I was only talking about ranking up.
Time will give you the skill and experience though. If you just hardcore tunnel or camp every single game, you can do that for an eternity and never rank up at a certain point because the game will punish you for it. No matter how much time you will invest in a playstyle that isn't efficient, it will not let you rank up. Actually, the more you rank up the less efficient these tactics are getting because you will face better opponents.
You have to get better, you have to play smarter, you have to understand the game to progress. And there is more to learn on the killer side than on the survivor side because you are playing against 4 people and every mistake will punish you four times harder.
That's why I don't agree with ranking up being easy. It's easy if you have established a skill basis that allows you the kill the average survivor groups. And to get to that basis takes for killers way longer than for survivors.
It just appears that ranking up as a killer is easy because low rank survivors are free kills. But that will change pretty soon when you hit the smurf groups at green and yellow ranks. A lot of killers are reaching their first plateau in these ranks due to the sudden increased skill levels of survivors.
But hey...I guess we all have different opinions about what is easy and what is not. And that's fine. I just face a lot more stronger survivors than usual for the last weeks, probably due to the devs having reactivated the MMR System without mentioning it, and that's just a really stressfull experience. Under these circumstances I cannot say that Pipping is easy. If you don't get your occasional potatoe survivors anymore it becomes a whole nother experience.

If you're having enough 4k escapes to complain about it I really don't know what to tell you. The fact that 4 escapes won't give you a pip doesn't mean it's hard to rank up.
I have nothing to complain about. My killer stays solid at rank 1. But I still don't think that ranking up is easy because I see the games that I have every single day and I only win them or kinda win them because I play this game a lot. Don't really know if we just have different games or why do you think it's so easy. Because I clearly don't think it is easy to rank up against the current gen rush meta.
-
@Kolonite said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1718780#Comment_1718780
You don't have to 4k to pip. A survivor doesn't have to escape to pip. Escaping isn't all that matters when playing survivor. There are players who carry their whole team and end up dying. They would still deserve a pip. Killer pipping maybe be harder, but it doesn't mean much when both are easy.
No, you don't but most 2k's are a brutal because you get punished if survivors are doing all the gens.
While survivors, as you said, have other things they have to do, for killers it all comes down in the end about how many hooks and therefore kills they got.
You will most likely never experience a 4 man escape that grants you a pip, no matter how good you were playing.
I wouldn't call that easy, at least not in red ranks.
-
@Kolonite said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1718742#Comment_1718742
Yeah, it's not hard to hit rank 1 on either side. It's literally just a measure of how much time you've put into it.
True but as a killer you actually have to kill people while as a survivor you don't even have to escape.
I think we can all agree that getting Rank 1 as a killer is in many ways harder than as a survivor and will take much longer if you are not that skillfull.
-

To be fair it's not hard to hit rank 1. Git gud.
This is about killers, not about survivors, my friend.
-
Yeah, because the moment you equip Undying and Ruin you are just chilling in the corner while survivors are dying out of agony.
I can understand that it makes you angry that killers are refusing to play the game and are just abusing this combination to a point where the survivors are the only ones who actually understand the sense of the game.
With that being said: Devs, nerf gen slow down perks.
Killers don't need kills, they need to get gen rushed to teach them a lesson because they don't want to play the game how it's supposed to be.
Winning is not an option.
-
No there isn't. The maps are intended to be that dark which is pretty ridiculous considering you can't see some survivors on "the game" for example.
The only way to fix that is to adjust the brightness on your screen everytime you play DBD.
It is worth it, trust me.

This is an outright lie, but ok.
I don't need to lie about my game experiences. I play survivor every single day and it is pretty rare. At least in my matches :)
-
That's why you got DS . How many more second chances do you guys want?
Real tunneling will punish the killer and will give the survivors an easy escape. Sure, not very fun for the person that get's tunneled but that can happen. Just move on.
Tunneling to get someone at a certain point out of the game is one of the only ways for killers to turn the game around in many situations. It wouldn't be wise to take that option away, at least if you don't want to play against Killer AI's in the future.

Very hard to pull off. When you down a survivor but not hook him right away, more experienced players will have a close watch on the timer. I would rather like it if it would be triggered by camping the exit gates. We would see this perk on every second killer.
I used Bloodwarden recently for three matches and it activated in all of them. The key is to make them believe that you don't have it. Hook people normally, go for hook trades and eventually they will open the gates or you open them.
I like the suggestion with camping the exit gates though. People either have to leave or they will get punished for waiting for their teammates too long or just simply being cocky.

change the base game to not have slowdown perks be killer meta and not have exhaustion perks/second chance perks be survivor meta. Only then should perks like these be reviewed imo.
I agree.
There are a lot of interesting perks in the game already and they would be used more if the meta would change.

My games were pretty good today. Didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

@Ace_Ventura said:
Honestly - thinking about it more, I think the biggest issues with "tunneling" are:
- Survivors call everything tunneling, even when it's not tunneling. Meaning, as I said, they don't actually know what tunneling is.
- This is a big one - when it does happen, no matter the circumstance, survivors take it personally.
- Survivors have to realize - sometimes, tunneling is the play that can turn the match. We're not talking about tunneling one person all game, losing all the gens and not catching them until the very end. We're talking 1 gen left, person gets unhooked, its the SMARTEST play to go after that person again and AT LEAST slug them, if not rehook/kill them. Even at 1 gen left, going from 4 to 3 survivors is a HUGE swerve in how the game will end.
Survivors basically need to get this privilege that they deserve to live out of their heads. You deserve to live if you don't get caught, and you have ALL the tools, more than enough at your disposal to make that happen.
This is explains why there are so many complains about tunneling and camping. Real tunneling and camping is actually pretty rare in red ranks.
-
I only play Solo Queue in red ranks it almost never really happens to me or my teammates. At least real tunneling and camping.
Some proxy camping and tunneling to get one person out of the game (which is completely fine if you need to do it) happens a lot more. And that's okay. That's what I would call strategy and not trying to ruin someones fun in the game.

Unfair again... if you chase survivors as u said survivors needs skills to escape it m1 has nothing to do with it it's like you said "must be hard to break a gen as killer while we need skill to loop killer" one has nothing to do with other you're just being ignorant at this point
Breaking gens isn't doing anything though because the regression takes over 5 minutes xD
Anyways... we all have different experiences in the game and therefore different opinions. It's fine if you don't agree with me. Calling someone ignorant though is a little bit too much. Be respectful, I am not forcing you to have the same opinion as me. Have a nice day :)

This isn't about how unfair keys are. Also where did you get this conclusion from, they've haven't released any Mori/ Key statistics recently.
Only my own experiences. Nothing more.
Besides...I don't really think high of the statistics that the devs are showing to us. The numbers are always a little bit strange, don't you think?
And what's wrong about mentioning keys? They are on the same level as a Mori.
-
@nina1121 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1714741#Comment_1714741
You're little unfair here you talk about mori only if killer is bad that's rarity if u play on higher levels and plus u speak about key like we can escape whenever we want we need to fix 4 gens before it plus doing chases and hooking neither thing is easy to do if you're bad or new player, but mori of first hook is definitely more powerful than key because you can kick out of game players in such a short time and the rest of players are ######### after it because they are missing out on people, both needs nerf that's for sure no complain to that
I normaly only face bad killers who are using a Mori. That's why I said it. Most of the better killers usually don't use it.
And holding M1 compared to chasing people is still less effort and less skill. I stick with my word. Downing and hooking people who are decent at looping is by far more skill required than doing gens and using a key.
By the time the killer has found, chased, downed and hooked one person, survivors have around 2-3 gens on the edge of popping. If you have matches like this (which is pretty normal in red ranks) a Mori isn't that strong anymore.
Oh and one more thing: You can't find a Mori randomly in chest while I get a good key every second match with plundere's and Ace in the hole. Pretty ridiculous if you would ask me.
-
Mori's aren't fine but you have a higher chane to win against a Mori Killer than to win against a key user. If you are a bad killer and can't really down the survivors your Mori is useless while a key is just pressing a button and boom, you are out of the game and can take all remaining people with you.
There are lot of things in this game that aren't fine. Not just Mori's in general. I would even say all the second chances survivors are getting due to keys, perks and the bad hatch mechanic is an even worser situation. But one can argue about that.
-
It actually helped me once when someone brought a key and only two people were left. I walked to the area where the hatch would spawn and found the key owner. Got me a 4k in the end.
It's an unnecessary offering but at least both sides can see it.
-
Do you know that horror film where the killer just leaves his prey and let everyone escape?
Me neither.
Besides...camping is a punishment itself. But killers have to kill. How they do it is up to them. If they do it strategically smart they will win and be rewarded. If they do it with extreme camping/tunneling they will get punished for it by getting less points and depipping.
Killers who want to improve at the game and want to play regulary will stop with unsuccessfull methods eventually when they gain more experience. The rest are just toxic people and you can't really do anything about them. Not on the killer side, nor on the survivor side. Just move on after the game. Not every game will give you a facecamping Bubba.
And yeah...these people want to destroy your fun in the game. But it's your decision if they are successfull with it or not ;)
There is no right or wrong way to kill people in this game. There is only a less rewarding/less fun way and a more rewarding/more fun way. But everyone should have the free will to decide how they want to play. Adding limitations will only cause frustration and we already have plenty enough of that in the game.
-
I agree with almost everything besides Nurse. I play her a lot with the purple range and a recharge add on and I don't think she needs a buff. It is definetly harder to learn her, yeah, but she is still the most powerful killer in the game. At least if she wouldn't be bugged obviously.
-
Just grab some tea next time while they are wasting their time and don't want to leave. I also don't go to the gates anymore if they are all completely safe and it's just amusing how many people try to get your atttention.
You can also use that time and search for some left over pallets to break or try to find the hatch. Point wise this is more worth than getting a few extra hits that you probably already had enough in your game.
But honestly...the most funniest thing is when they get cocky, come back to you and you down and kill them. Karma is really a ######### in this game and I love it.
-
I would say they need people who actually play the game.
It's just completely obvious at this point that they don't play their own game enough to make good decision and they barerly listen to the community at all.
-
Hm...I must be doing something wrong then. Downing people in under 15 seconds, having a lot of hooks but still only getting 1-2 kills in most of my matches.
I guess I didn't pressured the gens enough ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah, killers OP. Please nerf.
-
Kills (at the moment) are not really saying much. Gens are being done too fast and if you play fair and are trying to go for the 12 hooks, your matches will probably look like mine: 1-2 kills on average. Barely a 4k but I also have the feeling the devs activated the MMR System again. At least the survivors I am getting since the last two weeks now are insane. Barely any potatoes anymore.
What says more about the actual game are the amount of hooks you got. If I had many good chases, many hooks and all survivors still escaped, I don't really have the feeling that I have lost that game. I only lose a game if my overall performance was bad and I made bad decisions.
The point is: you can do amazing and "lose". But you can also do extremely poorly and "win".
I judge the game as a whole and not the end result.
Sure, it is frustrating if you did your best and it wasn't enough but then it has more to do with the unbalance of the game and not with your skill.
-
I play both sides but killer is more interesting to me because it is obviously more harder, requires a lot more skill and there are many different areas to improve on, especially in the long term. Mastering each killers power can take a while and keeps the game interesting with longterm goals.
-
Well...that's obviously not how friends should behave. Confront them about their behaviour and make your decision based off of their reaction. They will probably not stay your friends, but you have a chance of making peace with it by knowing why they act that way.
-
You are totally right. But...why do you even care so much about the opinion of entitled people? Just let them trash talk in the endgame chat and move on. Who cares if they want to tell you how you should play the game?
If I would invest my energy in every survivor that pulls out the precious survivor rule book after the game, I would probably crash my head into my screen someday. These people are not really worth the attention because they will not change. Most of them are only playing one side and are having therefore a limited and biased view on the game.
-

The rush with better graphics is for a better presentation on next gen consoles.
Let's hope the ps5 will have better framerate than ps4 on this current patch. lol
To make it even more precisely: they want to make the game more attractive for new players who will pay a little bit here and there and then leave eventually. They don't care about the longterm playerbase. Became pretty obvious with the current event.
I hope they will realize that this kind of mindset will end the game sooner or later.
-
Otz did a pretty good job with his changes to make the game better. If the community is able to come up with such good ideas the game would be in a very good place. Eventhough I would say it is completely impossible to make an asymmetrical game perfectly balanced, it would at least be kinda near it.
Reworking keys and moris would be a very good start. Also nerfing DS and making it the anti tunnel perk that it should be without giving survivors god mode for 60 seconds.
Small changes alone could make a drastic and pleasant change without interfering too much with the actual gameplay.

NOED + Deathslinger + gate campers = fun
That's true. I also enjoy Bloodwarden a lot nowaydays.
-
I don't go to the exit gates anymore if I see no point in getting someone. It's very funny how long some people are staying in the endgame and some of them are even vaulting over stuff so they can BM you at the gates.
-
I would recommend to close the endgame chat and not look at it until you don't care anymore about any insults that may come across you.
There will always be times when we get tilted. Especially if we don't perform like we want to. The only advice I can give you is to write a "gg" and move on. I know it is hard but I have learned that dicsussing with these people will never make you feel good because even if you give them the best logical arguments they will still behave like babies. It's just a waste of energy in the end and it's only feeding their satisfaction and needs to get some attention.
Be smart. Don't fall in into the hole of never ending stupidity.
Oh and if they insult you just report them. If they do it too often they will get a nice ban.
-
Huntress is fine besides a few hitbox issues on both sides.
High reward for high skill. It isn't easy too hit survivors who are very good at dodging and if you are using your surroundings smart against her, she will most likely not hit you anytime soon. Sure... if you are outpositioned she has a higher chance but that goes for every killer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeFtUIDhYFEIf you watch tthis video you can see that these survivors are doing very well with evading Coconut's hits and he is by far one of the best huntress in this game.
I don't want to question your experience in this game but you have obviously never played huntress for a long time for saying that her hatches are unfair and not counterable.
Everything else on your list is personal opinion I guess. I also don't enjoy the executioner but you can doge his range attack pretty well in most scenarios. It's a gessing game in the end. Doctor is annoying, I agree on that. Just spamming his power till he got you. Deathslinger is also high reward for high skill and his punishment is very large considering he has only one shot. His shot is obviously harder to doge because it is instant but I still don't really see that big of a problem with it. He is very slow and he needs to pull people in to hit them. That cost time as well.
Survivors tend to have a problem with killers that are able to down them fast. But this is not a 1 vs 1 game. Even if a killer has quick chases the team can still win because the game isn't about looping a killer for 5 gens. It's totally fine that we have strong killers who can actively end a loop faster without relying on the survivors for making mistakes. Because all the other killers are not winning because of their own skill but because the survivor has made the wrong read. There is a huge difference between a power role killer and a normal killer. And people enjoy the power role. Tha'ts not a secret. And that goes for both sides. Survivors are liking the weaker killers the most because guess what: they can loop them easily from pallet to pallet and they only get caught if they make a mistake. That's very funn for survivors but not for killers.
So no, for the balance of the game, there is no need to nerf these distance killers. As long as the game isn't designed for long chases we need killers who down people fast to actually have a change besides effective tunneling, slugging or pseudo camping.
-
Don't forget the increased amount of trees
