  • I use it for mobility moving around the map. It can also net you hits around certain loops by slowing the survivor and then speeding you up just enough to hit them. You can watch some Otzdarva clips as he uses them regularly in his clown games. They're useful.

  • Easy fix to tunneling - nerf COH and making switching targets viable again.

  • Chucky. It just doesn't work at all.

Judging by the number of posts you have here, you seem immune to basic use of words and language.

There is a distinct reason why the DbD community is viewed as toxic. For some, there is clearly no filter any more.

In no circumstance should a post be allowed which uses the "hate" or "hatred" terminology. If you dislike something, fair game.

In simple terms, grow the ######### up.

The irony here is so thick I could cut it with a butter knife.

  • The thing that gets me is that if I wasn't stuck looking out of two small holes In a cardboard box I would be able to see them in my peripheral vision and hit them easily. When you watch a 360 compilation, the killer whiffing looks hilarious, but if you watch from the cramped FOV killers are forced to play with, it's like they're literally disappearing right in front of you.

  • I'm not sure what I was expecting when I opened the thread but I was still pleasantly surprised.

  • I have played DBD since 2016. I don't remember the exact month that I started, but I have in that time accumulated about 2,700 hours, with a long break from the game relatively recently, but I'm coming back to it now. I've played both sides extensively, although I probably lean a little more towards killer games. (60-40)

I think the one thing that stands out to me in any model trying to say that 2 kills 2 escapes is the desired outcome is the fact that the exit gates MUST be powered in order for more than 1 person to escape. Because of the extremely weak endgame potential of most killers without end game perks, I feel like in most games when the gates are powered survivors can almost always secure having everyone escape minus the one person who is initially chased, if there is one. (Living - distraction = survived)

The thing is I've had games as killer where I get absolutely destroyed, gates are 99'ed in minutes and I get away with a 3-4k because the survivors started acting like goons. But I don't feel like that's a win. I don't want to win because the other side hands it in my lap. (E.g. survivors hook farm, killer is friendly, etc) I want to have genuinely fun games and good interactions between players. I've had games where I barely miss a survivors at the exit gates and I slam my head on my desk in frustration and get a 1k, and I've had games where I barely miss a survivor at the exit gates and I grin and say gg well played. The fun that I have in the match isn't always tied to the outcome.

Rather than even see balance in the game, I'd like to see it be less frustrating for killers, and more consistent for survivors. I would rather get a 1k where I had a great time and made some friends than a 4k where I crushed everyone, or even a 2k that was a "balanced game." If the game was just fun to play, I'd enjoy it more, winning or losing.

TL;DR - Rather than balancing the game until its a 2k every time, they should make killer less frustrating and survivor a more consistent experience.

  • Complete with cheesy voicelines too! Like:

    "Get clowned on!"

    "HE HE HE HAAAAW"

"######### you little killer main, eat #########!"

(All said in a squeaky high voice, except for the laugh, which will sound exactly as deep and horse as The Clown's).

  • Like has been said before... just dodge it. I was countering iri hatchets when they were still able to have 3 by just dodging 3 hatchets. Now it's even easier than before.

Also protip: avoid going into any vacuums while you're playing against her. If you run to a window or try to vault a pallet, you'll be locked into the animation making you completely helpless against a quick thrown hatchet.

  • What if we're all actually in hell and solo queue is just our personal torture for eternity. It never gets any better. There is only meghead now.

  • I don't know man, I was there when Bill was released, and BT was broken AF back then. It used to give a much more significant protection to BOTH the unhooker and the unhookee. Bhvr has never released a balanced solo survivor chapter.

  • It's already in an alright place. I think buffing it would just make it more annoying and cement it into every killers build again.

  • The irony here is pretty humorous.

  • The problem is that there's a huge disparity between COH and the other boons which are much more situational. Nerfing the boon mechanic in general might not be the move, because perks like shadow step and exponential and quite balanced where they're at, so nerfing boons in general would make them pretty weak when they don't deserve to be gutted.

  • I know something that can be done! Gens.

  • How to make twins more fun and less balanced.

Step 1: Two posters queue up together as the twins.

Step 2: Those players control Charlotte and Victor independently of each other, except for when Victor is respawning.

    Step 3: ???

    Step 4: Profit

  • PC - With cross play. Truthfully I've never tried turning it off. I like having faster queues.

  • Hangman's trick should let hooks used for sacrifice come back again. I'm not sure why they would ever change that, it's already a trash perk.

  • @Akumakaji said:

Because *clears throat * "Boons are supposed to give survivors something meaningful to do besides rushing gens, and if totems could break they wouldn't "waste" any more time rekindling them. Also some survivors wouldn't even run Boons in the first place if they could be left with a dead perk after just a max of 5 uses. "

Wow, imagine having a perk that's correlated with totems that has limited uses.

At least the minimum for boons would be five, ffs.

  • I feel like this would make every Nemesis run Franklin's so that you have to search the box every time he interrupts you.

  • I think COH is much more to blame for this than anything else.

  • It was reworked a bit ago. It doesn't give the notification anymore.

  • I mean not to be that guy, but it kind of sounds like a personal problem. You might just need to get better at being aware of your emblems and what you still need to do in the match. If you're getting literally zero altruism, (which isn't even possible in this scenario, since you start at bronze) that means he's not hitting or downing anyone, which gives you iridescent unbreakable.

  • I like it. I only run BBQ for the points anyways, so even if they just kept that and did away with the aura reading I'd be happy.

  • Sometimes it is too early to draw conclusions. Sometimes you really do just know though. Like the Clown. Even the Survivor's in his PTB knew he was trash.

  • I feel like this is just for people who get salty about dying and can't bear to watch themselves actually lose the game.

Thanks that video was actually super helpful. Even just hug tech is going to help so much, I can see why I was missing all those hits!

Then...there would be absolutely no need for unbreakable, tenacity does more things than unbreakable, give tenacity the one thing unbreakable had over it and BAM, unbreakable now a F tier perk

Uh, it gives you a 35% increased recovery speed, which is significantly faster? Are you serious or joking?

  • I really wish they would make it brighter. I can learn a convoluted map, I can get skillz on a difficult map for my killer, but there's not much I can do if I can't freaking see!

  • Solo queue in dbd is a very unique experience.

  • To answer your question, yes. Yes he absolutely did. I've been playing Dead by Daylight for a very, very long time. I can remember when Wraith was a complete joke. He's in a very good place now.

  • I would change tenacity so that it would let you pick yourself up once per trial, similar to unbreakable. One of my favorite perks conceptually, but just so eclipsed by unbreakable because it can't actually get you off of the ground.

  • @Tr1nity said:

I think after finishing that, I understood your point less than when I read the title.

Basically, more unique lore for female killers than, "oh this person's life sucked and now they kill people."

  • The very least they could do is make it brighter. Those dark hallways make it so much more annoying to play on.

  • Seriously though, I play both sides. Unless I'm going for a save or something, once the doors are open, I just leave. No killer wants a pittance of BP in exchange for having to be humiliated just watching you leave immediately afterwords. Just go through the ######### door.

  • Honestly my strategy with portals is to use them as a general way to travel from area to area instead of anything strategic. As soon as I have control of my character I'll place one wherever I started and then try to put down 2-3 more as I start my initial patrol around the map. Then after you hook your first survivor teleport to whichever is closest to the survivors that BBQ revealed. At that point you can commit to down the survivor you're chasing, or you can teleport back to he hook fairly quickly if you need more pressure.

    Also EDIT:

I advise AGIANST placing portals next to gens if you're using them for map pressure. A survivor cleansing a portal then repairing a generator will hurt you a lot more than it will hurt them, especially if you're running pop or need to prevent that generator from being done for pressure. Maximum portal value is going to come from them staying up so you get access to way more map pressure, something Demogorgon desperately needs in order to win.

  • I dropped a fat load of iridescent shards on a spirit cosmetic for this exact reason. Good luck with your shopping efforts my friend!

  • Unpopular opinion, I actually really like DH. Every other exhaustion perk just creates a massive gap and the next 30 seconds is just hold W gaming. Dead hard can be mindgamed, baited, countered, used in different ways. It doesn't create so much distance that it breaks an intense chase, but is still useful. I think sprint burst / lithe are very low skill floor and skill ceiling. Dead hard is a lot less mindless imho.

  • Look, my billy game is already strong enough that I didn't need ruin. I didn't run ruin so I could play a fast mobile killer, I ran it for the exact opposite reason.

  • Getting shocked has almost always interrupted actions. Intentionally so.

  • Wait, its the killers fault that SURVIVORS choose to DC for bringing in an add-on that the DEVS put into the game?

Even if I agree with you, your logic is so nonsensical that I cant help but be argumentative. It doesn't get more comical than this.

  • Blood warden should just queue up if the killer hooks someone before the gates are open but while they're powered and then activate after they've been opened.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

I've tried it a little bit but I'm often in sweat ranks so fall back on reliable builds.

Have to say it stopped me from seeing sprint burst in a game that had them. The thing with mindbreaker is if they sprint from a gen, you break chase, then they go back - well they have to either sit there for 40 seconds waiting for their stamina to recover or they do the gen. They can't do both, so it's sacrifice gen time or sacrifice their exhaustion. At least until the gen is over 50%.

It's not that bad and probably will give some value. I'd like to try it with blood echoes but I don't have Oni yet.

Mindbreaker and Blood Echo. Now that's a perk completely to truly (not) be reckoned with.

  • To answer the last question, assuming you're still playing the game, you would. You would spend your free time on that.

  • Although I highly agree with plague, I have to throw in my personal bid for Oni since I love the Oni. His perks are absolute garbage but his power is fun. Plus he's going to get some camera fixes to actually make demon dash work.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

Oh please, you can still take NOED and crutch a few extra kills at the end without any skill. And you say it's survivors who are being comforted like babies?

NOED isn't a new addition to the game. If you still haven't learned to do bones, you're still the one being coddled.

  • If you're insidious camping you'd be enjoying the game with 0 bloodpoints, because you're playing for kills and not bloodpoints. Enjoy being dead.

Playing Killer is definitely going to be more frustrating at high ranks after the mid-chapter goes live. I hope there is enough evidence of that for the developers to take it seriously with the next full chapter update. Tell me though, if they make the changes to gen speeds or whatever else in the future, would that bring you and your friends back to playing? Or is this the final straw?

Honestly I think I'm ready to bury the hatchet. I'm sure a lot of people would stay if there were some solution. But I think it wouldn't make a huge difference for a lot of people. The ruin change isn't a mountain that's crushing killers. For a lot of people, its just the straw that breaks the camals back, or the final nail in the coffin so to speak. Its a myriad of issues, the ruin change is kust what pushed them barely over the edge. I can only speak for myself, not anyone else that's quitting, but those are my thoughts.
