It seems to be a bug.

..

Have it trigger on stuns or blinds like nemesis instead of with each generator.

Update, Shack pallet (if nobody else really knew) is broken too.
Ironically, pallets are broken because they are harder to break.

No it was. And it needed some more work. I got completely stuck at rank 10 if I played only Doctor cuz it had decided I'm a good Doctor and would match me vs nothing but red ranks. Every. Game.
Got impossible to rank up but wasnt ranking down either. Swapped to a different killer and boom, green ranks again.
This system sucks for high ranking killers. That system sucked for players trying to rank up.
Oh yeah! I remember now, it wasn't able to gauge skill well enough, even after people said it just needed more player data.
-
Was that ever fully implemented? I thought it only was only gathering data before?

ah yes the killer called the twins are 2 characters of different ages
Ikr. I thought they were the same age too.

Clown is the closest thing to an m1 killer and even he is getting some changes.

Alternatively just meme hard. I'll let you know how oppression/lullaby/unnerving/overcharge doc with calm add-ons goes.

The problem I have with Freddy is how low his skill floor is. His dream state, the teleportation and even the snares are all passive abilities he gain without doing anything skillful. Basically the only thing you need to be good with Freddy is being good at landing M1s, the rest his power does alone for you. I wouldn't mind if Freddy remained strong af, but AT LEAST they should make him a bit more skillful, so he can be more fun to play as and against.
At the same time, I can see the benefit to having a killer that is both easier to play and still quite powerful.

I haven't. I run Whispers, Ruin, BBQ, & Discordance. Wouldnt mind trying it but unsure which two of those I'd wanna drop.
Whispers on doc? Why so?

I hope it gets fixed because I don't like the idea of having to be an m1 huntress until I get those 6 pallet loops out of the way. Of course I do hit them when they are away from those and I get downs and hooks but if they are near one of those pallets I'll get looped for 30 seconds before I get a hit
Might be worth filling out a bug report considering how killer-specific it is.

I theorycraft what would be best for that killer & their power & try it out.
Then I pay attention to what feels like I'm getting value out of and what feels wasted or not as good as I thought it'd be and tweak it some more.
I thought Tinkerer would be good on Dr cuz of how he controls maps but it's not. He's too slow to get there in time so I switched to Discordance and was immediately like "ohhhh this is way better"
Have you tried repression doc yet? I'm curious how that might play.

@HR_Helios said:
I already know the type of survivor you are just from that and therefore your opinion is invalid. Some hitboxes can be jank because of latency and dedicated servers. But for the most part even when I play survivor I never think a hatchet shouldn't have hit. I did something that made me take a hatchet in the end it was my fault. Survivor hitboxes need to be tweaked then she will be fine
Reworked maps are having a lot of collision issues. It might be a bug that only the huntress and... I guess Death slinger might encounter.

I thought about the perk way but no I haven't gotten Rancor or devour or nothing else I can pull it off with
That's rough buddy. Running an Iri head with a cypress more might work if it comes to that... you might get lucky and get a dc and easier down.

It fixes most of her fps issues, and just makes playing her a lot smoother. I use shadowborn because it's pretty much necessary to use when you play nurse on ps4. It isn't exactly a strong perk, but if you don't use shadowborn on her than you're making it harder on yourself. It's decently hard to explain, but she's a lot easier to play with shadowborn.
So... its like stridor-spirit but fir visual issues instead of auditory ones?

I don't even have to have a red one perfectly happy with a green one can't even get that. Just extremely confused/ shocked because she's P3
Cypress or Devour? ... Not ideal, but might be a fun challenge.
-
That's odd, especially considering she literally only has two Iri bloodweb items.

I use perks that synergize with themselves, and my power. Take my nurse build for example. Its BBQ, whispers, shadowborn, and nurses. Whispers and BBQ synergize with eachother for obvious reasons, and they also synergize with my power, because nurse's biggest struggle is finding people. Shadowborn is just a QoL perk I can't play without, and nurses, because the second it procs, I can get there in one blink. The perks need to have synergy with eachother, and your power.
I don't play a lot of nurse cause I have many easier killers to still not be bad at... But may I ask what makes shadowborn such a popular QOL perk on her? Its almost akin to Stridor-spirit, but what does that extra 15° really do for nurse?

If anything, Bubba is the clear winner for "rework done right". He is very strong in the things he does, has very well defined weaknesses, and when he wasn't performing up to snuff, he was given a significant but appropriate boost in his power.
Freddy is over-tuned. His base kit is literally "just give him everything" with no focus on strengths and weaknesses. He has no feel, no identity. He just does "everything". Need to move fast? Teleport. Need stealth? It's almost always on. Need loop traps and intel? Covered. On top of that, he is mostly immune to many perks that make use of the Terror Radius. He needs some of his kit stripped away, and what remaining kit he has can be strengthened to give him a set playstyle that he excels at.
Alternatively there is the doctor, who was tuned even less than Bubba was.

@TicTac said:
Do you look for the best build for a specific killer or do you create a build and decide then which is the best killer for it?
How important is the synergy with the killer power for you? Or perk synergy?
Do you test many possibilities or are you using the same most of the time?
I usually just run what is meta to learn a killer, then rotate out two perks at a time to test out.

Yes according to the lore. After Lil' Vic died Charlotte continued on as his corpse continued to rot throughout the years
I see now... having a 5 year old, albeit a reanimated one, certainly can be problematic in some regards.

And Victor was reanimated by the entity to lure in Charlotte? Him actually being 5 years old, albeit reanimated... I can see how some view it as problematic.

I hate to get involved like this, but I was under the impression that depicting violence (and encouraging through gameplay mechanics) against a child-shaped human characterized by a telltale young mental age (inability to willfully control speech functions as evidenced through sporadic shrieking and the like) is frowned upon (even if the image of the human is only reanimated by a mysterious force).
To be more succinct, I see Victor's child-resemblance like a speech-deprived, much more child-like-in-stature version of Lenny (Of Mice and Men), and I already have extreme doubts about portraying and encouraging game violence against a re-animated, significantly younger Lenny. I'm not sure how Victor is so different, and I'm concerned about that.
Huntress herself is an example of another killer with more child like faculties. Although survivors are unable to enact violence against her, and unlike victor she has fully physically developed.

It's funny considering he is a 5 year old child. And then bhvr being hypocrite about it and telling you it's against TOS
So I looked it up cause I thought victor was Charlotte's age... Was victor killed at 5 years old and reanimated into a monster by the entity?

That locker hit from Victor is not a buff. It is a bug. They did also mention in the PTB that Victor can get stuck if he pounces on a healthy survivor in a locker. A bug within a bug.
Let the bugs from the PTB fix the gameplay issues from the PTB... BigBrain move by BHVR.

I wish it was base for him, I don't see people's auras when he's on them and my memory is garbage, so having some effect with him that isn't from an add on would be great! Also Charlotte's walk is really clunky and at first I thought she was super slow even in a chase, but maybe her animation is just throwing me off.
I'm shocked that isnt part of his base kit. That seems like something that would hinder a person...
-
The ptb really should be released much earlier since the alloted test period for the past few killers have not been enough to work out the kinks.

im glad they turned it off instead of disabling oni.. i mostly only play oni so if they disabled oni i would just become a survivor main i guess lol.. but i do find it weird since i didnt have any issues with oni during the time that it was on.. maybe it was rare but once it happened it was huge
They should do a full rollback before even considering temp-locking any other killer.

I'd love for the ptb to be out earlier as well as some sort of beta that console could participate in because there's definitely console specific issues they miss out on.
Console Q&A is certainly getting the short end of it.

I think they are an amazing killer, I do think their add-ons are not the best. They really should’ve haven them a UR add-on that makes survivors not be able to vault with Victor on them, something cool like that.
Tbh I'm not sure why that hindered penalty isn't applied on base kit.
-
Similar vein, does Victor inflict hindered and if so, how severe?

This is a bug that's been in the game for years, it's gotten much worse since DS and her rework. Unless it got even worse after this update I don't think this is relevant.
Is it similar to her lightburn?

The twins seem a bit premature.

I for one cannot wait to afford 2 items from my bloodwebs in return for no Christmas event. It's really cool.
Even the halloween event... which was certainly more bare than previous years, changed up the gameplay while simultaneously giving more free bloodpoints, and a better functioning gamestate.

How about making it so that when you look at the killer it shows the auras that the killer see but not the killer? it would still be strong idk

More secondary objectives I suppose? Breakable walls and totems really don't divert much from the main goal

Maybe they just didn't try the tech, hence there being a ptb. Ptb there's a larger player base of varying playstyles that will find techs the devs may not even think to try.
That's fair, albeit disappointing. I hope the devs expand their internal testing or release the ptb much earlier going foward.
-
@Awkward_Fiend said:
By voting "Delete This" this I only mean completely scrap this version of the perk, create an entirely new effect. The aura reading on command is extremely busted and shouldn't exist, especially if given comms.

They stream at night during their free time, not during working hours. I thought you were complaining that they didn't play their game but when you find out 2 devs do and publicly you don't think they should play their game? OK then. 😂
I'm glad they play it, but why did they not bring up the victor locker tech to the rest of the dev team before the ptb was released?
-
Eventually I'll ptobably get it, but certainly not in this state.

They’re trying their best to fix all the bugs in time, but they have set themselves this unrealistic goal of a chapter every 3 months and they are too stubborn to change up the schedule. Or perhaps they want to have more time, but can’t because higher ups are forcing them into it.
They can't keep keeping this up without something else giving further. Allegedly 141+ new bugs with the new patch atop the existing bugs beforehand. A shift of resources or time obviously needs to be made.
