I was just about to adress this issue. It doesnt work on both sides. Whenever Im on hook, I cant see the killers aura, nor my friends I guess. And whenever someone else is on hook, I cant see the killer's aura.

Sent steam request. Nick is Fingolfin.

I sent a friend request if you still play. My nickname is Fingolfin.

His power is clunky and difficult to use on almost any loop. I definitely think all the people rating him A tier will downgrade their ratings a bit over time.
He is at most B tier in his current situation in my opinion. But has so much potential to be A tier killer if they fix the issues I mentioned above.

Thanks everyone!

About the number 3, believe me, i did play on PTB and his survivor detection collision was 40 cm (the same one you are proposing) and i knew it needed a nerf (not to 20 like it's now for sure).
There were many, many times where i did bound into survivors, they just dodged far past my screen and i still ended grabbing them, i was like "######### how did i grab him".
They went a bit too far with the nerf tho. 30 or so should be fine.
Well then, you are probably right. Somewhere between 30-40 should be fine.
-
I noticed this too. His animations generally sucks. Running animation? He doesnt run in any other game unless he was dashing. He walks like he is the coolest person in this earth(which he is). While holding his power? He looks even more stupid. At the end of the day, I believe he wasnt finished for release in any way but they did it since they probabyl think "eh, we will patch it later".
-
In my experience he has got a few issues. Here is my no bs opinion.
- Yes, recharge takes way too long and infecting survivors to make it faster has never worked for me yet. Trust me, in some of my matches I didnt even go for kills but kept changing targets to infect each survivor. At the and of the day, I never was able to infect all four. 3 at max but thats because I only tryed to infect and eventually they all got out. If you play normally, you know guard gens and commit chases sometimes I get one or two survivors infected but thats about it and it wont last long enough to gain benefit from it. They easily heal with sprays. Im not sure how this can be fixed. Maybe nerf sprays so they have one charge instead two? Or speed up infection time? Must be tested.
- Although vaulting with power is quite strong and throw survivors off when they least expect it, the fact that Wesker cant follow up with a bound even if he has a token ruining it. I had to body block the window every time I do that till the cooldown ends and that just doesnt make sense to me. For example, nurse can go through walls and she can follow up with another blink if she has. While Wesker, cant go through walls and has to physically vault but cant follow up?
- As everyone noticed, collision. If you watch Dowsey's video on YouTube you will see that Wesker is collision is currently smaller than his model which also doesnt make sense. His power is not strong enough to be that much demanding(again look nurse). Imo his survivor collision should go back to 40 again and environmental stay where it is now. Maybe between 30-40 Im not sure as I didnt play him on Ptb but hey, huntress hatchets are still a thing in this game. Just aiming to survivor's general location she can snipe from across the map but Wesker has to be super specific with his power?
- He is extremely glitchy, bugy. For example if you throw survivors to a box they wont get damaged and just get infected. Its frustrating. His animations such as running(why does he run anyway he walks in a cool way unless he is dashing in other games) and holding power look pretty dumb which doesnt fit his charasteristic.
- After you bound you have a very small window to follow up with another. This is preventing him from playing around most of the loops. I think the second bound's window should be increased by one second since again, he cant go through things like nurse does. So I believe he should have slightly bigger window.
Thats all I could say for now. The things I mentioned above are not buffs but fixes I think. I wonder what everyone else thinks.
EDIT:
6. Infection progress resets if the survivor gets hooked. Thats a terrible downside as well. The progress should pause but continue after the unhook from where it has been.

When you say "community", you mean pretty much every player combined, right?
Cause in that case: Not even close.
Most of the time, my Survivors play normally and say nothing in the chat.
Yes. So you are saying the community is mostly cheerful?

And why do I think you are blind? Because you did the same thing twice. Nevermind, just forget it.

It's not even that it's toxic, I would say this is hands down the most entitled gaming community out there, it seems like alot of players can't stand losing and have to make every excuse imaginable for why they lost because it can't be that they did anything wrong 🙄, this is the community where you get reported just for outplaying someone and called a cheater for not doing exactly what they expect you to do. Having a brain is reportable.
Nice nickname haha. I agree these happen sometimes.
@ClownIsUnderrated said:
People misunderstand what toxicity is in DBD, it's not the teabagging and flashlight spamming. Those are more so people being cocky and arrogant, the toxicity comes from the post game chat or messages on console. Because you're getting accused of things you didn't do, and you're getting named called quite a lot. Those are what toxic people do, and it's sad that the community wants to appreciate these toxic streamers and keep telling people bow great they're. Especially a certain man bun streamer...
I agree. That's why I mentioned about congrulating the other side after a good game.
@dezzmont said:
DBD lacks even the most basic player behavior tools that most games have which makes it trully one of the most shockingly toxic communities I have ever seen.
Like you see a lot of adult temper tantrums and truly horrific behavior with people not just being dicks, but doing their best to try to break other people emotionally. It got so bad that when streaming for friend tonight he got depressed just seeing endgame chat where someone was melting down spamming racial and homophobic slurs and the word "fat" over and over after they lost.
The community is freakishly abusive and awful. People saying DBD is better than league need to realizr league BANS people for chat.
So you think players like this should get banned with a SS proof?
@Xzan said:
The community is toxic. Every raging kid in dota 2 is a saint in comparison to the things I encountered here. (I had 3k hours in Dota 2 before I quitted)
But the sad thing is: Toxicity is praised and sometimes even promoted in Dbd. But on the other side its a guilty pleasure for me to watch yt-videos where the entitled and toxic Players get outplayed and rage in the endgamechat.
Banter is ok after a game. Slurs and deathtreaths are not.
Deathtreaths? Damn.
I see everyone under this post thinks the community is toxic. It's sad. I thought maybe it was they are being so loud and etc. Maybe I was being too optimistic. At the end of the day, do you think banning is a solution? Or would make it less?

Honestly I don't feel like dbd is even close to the most toxic game i've ever played. I think that has to go to League of Legends, people are intense in that game.
Well you have got a point. Mordhau is horrible aswell.
@Kebek said:
Honestly, for me nothing inside of DBD's matches is really toxic behaviour to me. As long as it's part of intended gameplay within the official rules I consider everything kind of ok, at most annoying.
The most toxicity for me comes from endgame chat where people flame you for the way you played because you didn't follow their rules (which is even more toxic behaviour that they don't even realise they have, shaming others for not abiding their made up rules).
Agree. People usually use toxic term for something annoying so we are at the same point here too.
@Kirkylad said:
It's the most toxic game I've played before and the only one that's made me have to set my messages to friends only.
Honestly though I think a lot of what you say has to do with peoples egos in this game. They think because they have so many hours or they are so good at the game that the only way another player could beat them is if they played in a way they think wasn't fair or cheated instead of realising that it doesn't matter how many hours or how good you are there will always be someone out there with more or who is better than them.
@RoboMojo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2012527#Comment_2012527
I agree, a lot of the toxic behaviour in this community comes not from teabagging and flashlight clicking but from people trying to lecture you that you’re playing the game wrong. ‘No you can’t play that killer, I don’t like them’, ‘No you’re not allowed to play with friends, that’s cheating’. People will find anything and everything to complain about. The game can be very triggering if you try to take it seriously so perhaps people just find things to complain about to vent? The anonymity of the internet doesn’t help either as you can say genuinely horrible things with the only real consequence being that you get banned. There’s not much Behaviour can do to address that one though lol.
Some may call it cheating yes, thats overreacting I would say. At most it is just unfun for some people imo.
@fogdonkey said:
I don't feel it toxic. Maybe because I don't get triggered by Tbagging, flaslight clicking or vault spamming. Sometimes I get tunneled, but I accept that it can happen. Camping is also not toxic to me, I am just sometimes sad when I see all my teammates crouching around instead of doing gens. End game chat can sometimes get interesting, but I find it usually just funny.
Well Im glad for you then. You are probably in the 0.01% of the player base lol.
And why do you think that way?
@Gay_Police_Dept said:
Most, if not all, multiplayer games have a toxic community. I personally love to meet these toxic players, words don't hurt me and love to make them saltier.
I do not agree with that I guess. I play space engineers for example and its a very welcoming community.
So let's focus on my main point. Do you think the community looks like toxic because toxic people are so loud or cheerful people are silent and that puts toxic players to the frontline? Or maybe both? And why?
Why players usually do not congratulate the other side after a good match? Is this a sign of toxic community? Or egos?
-
I assume you would already see a totem if you are 3meters away from it...
-
I would just buff the effect moderately and apply it to all hooks plus survivors are permanently mangled after the unhook till they heal
-
I see slugging as a strategy for some cases. The one you mentioned for example. You see 2 survivors at once and slug one then go for the other, smart move. But a slugging nurse on the other hand? Its boring af mate. Waiting to die on the ground for minutes? Get healed by a teammate just so the killer can down you again? If I could just die instantly and give that guy his kill I would do that so I can move on to another match. You basicly stop playing when you are on the ground as there is nothing you can do other then crawling away or healing. So it depends but mainly, you are wasting the other person's time and making it miserable. Thats my opinion.

Lower your expectations and don't go for 4k, be satisfied with 3k as well. It will help a lot. Also accept the fact that there are keys and they can escape using that. So don't be upset about it, just learn to handle the fact that survivors escape.
If you don't like maps, then use map offerings.
If there is a key in play, maybe you just have the illusion that the match is going well, because instead of repairing gens they are looking for the hatch.
Or if you really can't handle it, then play survivor or some other game, like Civilization.
The last sentence here really got me.
@Kardiá said:
Let me start this out by saying I have only 600 hours into the game, and about 550 of it is playing killer, though I've been playing it since a month after it's release. I've taken breaks from the game for months at a time, gotten to rank 1 killer a handful of times, seen the awful state of balance the game has been in for years, all the choices the devs have made both good and bad.
Now I'm at this point where, at rank 7-8. And this game still feels just as awful to play as it did back in 2017-18. I'm completely unable to play killers that aren't nurse or pyramid head or spirit due to getting completely stomped by persistent rank 1 swf groups. Every game, back to back to back to back there are these groups that will spam badham / haddonfield / corn maps. The very few matches without these swf groups, there's always at least 2-3 red ranks while I remain at purple playing the killers I actually want to play being ######### like Pig, Trapper, Demo.
Yet the matches that do go in my favor are always ending with hatches and keys. I can't go 5 games without seeing a red key and 2 people leaving via hatch. Or being forced to slug the second to last person to find the last so we don't have to go on the hatch scavenger hunt.
The game isn't fun to play, it isn't entertaining or challenging to go up against these swf groups and red ranks without a way to reset or even slightly lower my current rank so I don't get paired up against these people without just 'waiting til' reset.'
As for you my friend, I'm not going to say "stop playing" right over but instead, I strongly suggest you to play dbd as a side game all the time as I do. There are plenty good games out there waiting to be played trust me. So, look out for steam sales and choose the ones that mainly offer you singleplay rather than multiplay as this might bring you to the same point currently you are. Entertain yourself without thinking about any issues with single games. Enjoy the story, gameplay and the world you are in. Let's say that I bought Resident Evil 7. I will most likely enjoy the game so much that I wont even bother playing dbd again till Im done with it. If its a long open-world game then I will mostly play it but sometimes go back to playing dbd for a couple of hours. Do not force yourself to enjoy any game. If a game is frustrating to you, play it for shorter sessions till you finish it.
Secondly, yes this game has some balance issues and flaws. When you happen to face one of them, stop resisting to it like "omg how the heck they dont see what is wrong with their game its not fair bla bla..." and accept it. Do not expect devs to fix the thing you are having problem with right over, they wont. Sometimes they will never do it. When you are having a bad match If you are sure that its because of things which are out of your control(SWF,good survivors with 4k hours, balance issues and etc), then there is nothing to get upset about it but accept it. Do not expect too much from yourself in those kinda mathes and just do your best without sweating too much. Do not expect to get a 3 or 4k every match. You can create a topic about what is wrong to you(politely) and see if you can get any tips or whether there are people have the same opinion as you.
Lastly, learn to play survivor. It will give you some breathing room and also improve your killer play aswell. Im sure you will enjoy it too once you get the grip of it. Do not take the game too seriously. You will get frustrated aswell playing survivor too believe it or not.
As for toxic players on both sides like a camping or tunneling killer or a tbagging, flashlight spamming survivor and etc. Never take them seriously. If they are doing these kinda things, I mostly think that it is their own stupidness and they probably havent achived anything better in real life so that little control they have in a video game makes them so happy and makes them do dumb moves. Its miserable if you think that way so just ignore them. But sometimes they do these to get your attention for god knows what. Do they have a challange? Want to save a teammate? Maybe they like your playing and have fun having a chase with you? Thats rare but happens to me every now and then. My point is its not always toxic.
On the other side for killers, same statement above. Just ignore them, let them have their kills and move on.
Dbd generally has a good player base but I think toxic ones are so loud that it looks like worse than it is actually.
These are my suggestions to you as a 1k hours player who play both sides equally. I hope at least one of my suggestions will help you. Good luck.

Sometimes if a gen is finished quick enough after the trial starts, the counter stays at 5 (when I say quick, I mean co-op plus toolboxes plus Prove Thyself). When that happens the gen does count as complete, and the counter should jump to 3 next time a gen is done. Hopefully it's just a visual bug like that?
@ScottRozzy said:
So i did a generator and got shocked by the doctor just before i finished it, i ran away and lost him.
i returned to the generator and it was lit up and it was completely repaired. i couldn't interact with it and the generator counter was still on 5?
This is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dt6QCj8ekY
This happened to me as I was playing a killer once. They finished a gen and the counter was still at 5 but when they completed another one it jumped down to 3. So maybe it was a visual bug? What happened after the next gen completed?

So based on Peanits's comment about the topic, they do not have time to buff a perk. I wonder why?

But puny teenager with a mask is scary to you?
Fat guy with make up?
Female Shrek with boob gremlins?
Old lady who fell into some mud?
Man with mask? (how many are there?)
Lady with mask?
Dude actually runs up to you swinging his baseball bat and mocking you as he throws knives into you like a machine gun. He isn't like the goofy Trapper or Cannibal slowly walking with a stick up their rear end at super sonic speed. He's actually better made and more intimidating in animations.
Again, the "scary" term itself is subjective. There is nothing in this game scary to me as I find the game itself not scary. My first post was about why people find him not scary, it did not include personal idea about why he is not scary. If you find him scary looking than any other killer in the game thats fine by me. I dont have a side in this "he doesnt look scary" conversation and I did not say anything about him being not scary to me. I just said he looks dumb just as most of the cosmetics in the game.

Do I really need to explain one by one what I find scary about this game? Ok, I find nothing scary about this game because I think the game itself is not scary at all, its my personality. Again, the "scary" term itself is subjective. If you find him scary, thats fine by me. If you find him better then any other killer in any way, thats fine by me either. That's just solo queue for you. All it takes is a stupid mistake from a stupid survivor and everyone can be punished for it. You said you run kindred and that's basically all you can do as the hooked person. If another survivor is getting camped and the others don't have that perk time WILL be wasted and you'll most likely be doing gens by yourself for the next two minutes or more if another person gets caught. Game's frustrating and people will never stop making dumb decisions. Just try your best, say gg and move on.
If Im not the one who is on the hook, yes you are right and I know that . The topic is about me being on the hook while getting camped with kindred and my teammates are doing nothing although they see the killer is just standing there without even moving. Its just ridiculous.

Cherry picking. It doesn't count cause they are skins is a poor excuse. You still see them all the time, especially neon survivors. The only Deathslinger I played against recently had the bull hoodie on. He's still a man with a harpoon gun like how this guy is the man with a baseball bat sprinting at me throwing knives.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1992356#Comment_1992356
The neon outfits are in the game. His outfit fits in with those. He'll probably have a more dull outfit in cosmetics anyways.
That was just an idea why people dont find him scary. But if I had to say something personal about it I find his look stupid just as other dumb looking outfits like the clown's elephant and the legion's bunny and etc. The "scary" term itself is subjective. People may find different things scary so I really dont understand what's all this about.
-
Yes but it is a cosmetic not his base kit. For the new killer because it is his base kit maybe thats why people dont like it. If it was like clown's case maybe it would be fine.

There'd be other stuff they could have... like, (mentioned this before) questline chapters where you'd unlock special offerings that double as activator for stuff on certain maps that let you work your way through lore-related quests, ending with getting e.g. ingame currencies, special charms and several themed cosmetic sets.
Yeah I feel you. Considerable amount of people have been mentioning stuff they can do but no. They have to release those 4 killers in a year and do nothing else. Quantity over quality

-
He looks like from Cyberpunk world and I dont think he fits into dbd world but anyway
-
First of all, it was a spirit so Im not saying what they did was right but its understandable.
Secondly, the game sometimes kicks you off a match and you get punished for that. Happens to me every now and then.
Lastly, survivors can just kill themselves on the hook if they dont want to play anymore without disconnecting.
So I have been mentioning something to my friends about the issue. Rewarding someone for playing in a certain way would be more effective than punishing them for doing so. Im not saying the penalty should be removed. It may be doubled. But I think they should reward both survivors and killers with bloodpoints for completing a match without considering they survived or not. Let's say 5k for every completed match. Sure, there may be people who would kill themselves on first hook and farm that. Average match is 6-8 minutes right? So we can say that, for every killer and survivor who stays alive for at least 3 minutes and completes a match without disconnecting, they will be rewarded for 5k points. Im not saying this is 100% the right way to do it and it can be changed from here and there but you get the point. This would never stop the problem completely but I believe it would not happen that much.
-
I dont even call this a rework it was just a minor quality buff. At least I expected to have 8 bottles in total like 4 yellows and 4 purples but no.
-
The only problem with that map was the chapel in my opinion. Too many safe windows, drop downs and things like that. They only needed to balance the chapel itself not change the whole map. Yet they did not balance the chapel again...
-
Im still waiting for a dumb looking fat survivor with glasses. If they ever do that Im going to main him lol
-
Imagine Stefano makes survivors frozen at the point they where downed like in The Evil Within 2 lol
-
Camping and tunneling is sadly a part of the game and imho it can never be stopped by any means unless the whole system changes. We should focus on thinking about a system where tunneling and camping dont exists but I do not know what that would be.
-
If there is something that can be done by the developers I believe saying "just dont play its simple" wont help it. Furthermore I think this action is not kind and generous. We all go to a doctor when something is wrong with us right? At this point the developers may become a doctor for those people if you know what Im saying. Do you just quit something that you enjoy in life? Dont you look for if there is anything that can be done to make it safe first? If not, then there is nothing to do but quit it yes. You dont need that clicky "game mechanic" to take attention or for anything else and Im sure it was not intented as a mechanic, players just abuse it. Im fine without it if it is going to help some people enjoy the game too. My enjoyment is not over anyone else's. For blinding, well the purpose is to block the killer from seeing anything right? Not to make it uncomfortable for the killer player for a short time in real. Even I sometimes take my eyes off the screen when I get blinded by a flashlight as its too bright. The color can be changed into dark red if thats going to help Im not sure.Again, the developers needs to look up for it and then if there is nothing to make it better for epileptic people, Im really really sorry for them.
Moreover as others have said, you should see a doctor and take your own measures. I hope you get better soon my friend.

There are many people that care about new killers/new chapters though.
Quality and Balance updates shouldn’t come too short, and I really hope they learned from the mistakes of the recent updates..
That's why they make a new killer 4 times a year and they dont have enough time for quality updates. Im not saying they should just make balance updates over and over again but they should work on it for a good time and polish it before release, yet they dont have time. I would be fine with 2 killers every year for example. Currently quantity is over quality. Im saying it should be otherwise but, who am I to say anyway...

Favorite killers: The oni
Least favorite killers: Ghostface, deathslinger, spirit, huntress
I dont have favorite survivor they are just skins to me but I play as Bill.
I like the oni because he looks so damn cool in rage.
I find GF pretty annoying because his reveal mechanic is so inconsistent. The fact that he can just 99 you for later. No TR most of the time.
My second annoying killer is the deathslinger since you can never see when he is about to shoot and he can just make you think that he is going to shoot by aiming up and down and get an m1 easily.
Do I even need to talk about why I dont like spirit?
Lastly, I dont like huntress as her hatchet hitbox is something else. And personaly, considering its a she, I find her insanely repulsive because of her shouts before every hit lol.
-
I wish they put more resources and time into quality and balance updates. I really dont care about new killers.
-
If the question is would that make her a bit more balanced? The answer is yes, very slighly. Is it that much valuable? I would say no. Nurse is a killer who ignores most of the game mechanics and she can never be balanced due to that without gutting her. Not that I want them to gut her tho, Im just saying. Her power is the one that none of the killers should have.
Aside from these, she is so hard to master but super strong in good hands. Luckly, you dont see a lot of good nurses but when you do oh boi... Thats the only reason they dont gut her imo.

Just happened to me. I opened the exit gate and was waiting for a teammate incase she needed my help. Then bam I got kicked out. It said "match server unavailable" in the end game chat but I could see my teammates still alive and I somehow had an escaped icon next to my nickname plus depipped. After that, I noticed that I got banned for disconnecting. Lobbies have been constantly crashing recently. The last patch seriously damaged the game all over. Sigh...
