Lol ive gotten many heals off behind 2 pallets lol. Its not hard. But its good inner strength wont be effected since its one of my fav perk in the game with quick n quiet
Well must be some really strong pallets, strong perks with it or an amazing medkit lol

Honestly I'd be fine with this DS if they made it usable twice and made the timer 120 seconds. It would be even harder to abuse it because you'd have to stay 4 minutes doing nothing the entire match and it would actually punish tunneling. Heck, they could even buff the stun duration for what I care.
Hopefully they do something to make it better in that regard. One of thing I'd like them to do is to change one of the other meta perks into an obsession perk. This is so the fear of DS still looms even if it's not being used.
My idea for this was unbreakable. Works the same as normal except if you heal yourself off the ground you show the killer your aura for 3 seconds and become the obsession.

I just wish healing wasn't one of them. Seeing a killer can 100% still be tunneling u coming after u when trying to heal behind a drop pallet or if u quick n quiet in a locker with inner strength? U didnt actually lose the killer yet ur just avoiding another hit. This forces the killer to pick u up. We cant hop in lockers anymore if ur an inner strength user? Or will it stop once im fully healed? Because thatd be more fair other than that everything else is agreeable with.
I believe peanits clarified what is meant by healing. It's only you healing yourself so other survivors can heal you and so can perks.
You shouldn't heal behind a pallet anyway since there is virtually no chance you'll get the heal off in that chase anyway.

"...the killer can immediately chase you off hook and then just slug you and set their 1 minute timer until it goes off"
Current DS works like that as well, that's why everyone runs it with UB. The difference is that now you won't be able to do a gen 5m of distance from the killer because you know you're invincible for 1 min.
Correct and it was an excellent change but I agree with the OP that the perk will die. The thing is if a killer wants to tunnel you and kill you then your dead.
In swf it's used more offensively so it will be completely replaced now with BT. In solo q it'll probably not be run because survivors have other more important perks they need to run.
I wish they did something to make it better against tunnellers but overall it was a positive change to the perk.
-
The changes were excellent. I feel like though they need to make one of the other meta perks an obsession perk. DS will be used a lot less now so I don't want to risk no obsession every game and have a lot of tunnelling. Unfortunately a killer can still tunnel quite easily.
Objects proposed change looks really good and I hope they do it. I wrote in a previous chapter idea that I wanted a perk where survivors got to see the auras a killer did so I'm happy with this new perk.

Bruh I'm completely convinced that everyone on here is just bad at killer ds was really not that bad even when used to bully and honestly I very rarely ran ds but now I never will just straight up not worth it the only way for it to be useful now is after being unhooked is to try to go into chase or just not use it and have a wasted perk slot
Then your not a high rank killer lad lol
It isn't always annoying every game but it was broken. The fact you can hook a survivor, then hook another 2 survivors and that first survivor still having DS is quite stupid. The fact that when you run it with Unbreakable you basically are invincible for 1 minute is also quite dumb.
Anyone with over 1000 hours in this game knows exactly what the problems with this perk were.
I do agree it won't be run as much now. I think the fact you can still get tunnelled to death is why I never run it.
-
Little bit overkill tbh

@Aven_Fallen said:
Thing is, they want to make it more anti-tunnel, but it does not work anymore when I get slugged (aka tunneled) unless I equip Unbreakable AND if the Killer needs 60 seconds to catch me again.
I am totally fine with the restrictions they mentioned, they make sense. But this only addresses one side, making it anti-tunnel from the restrictions, without making the effect anti-tunnel.
I get what your saying. They haven't fixed the fact that if a killer wants you dead then your going to die regardless of having DS or not. I think one thing they haven't done is address the amount of tunnelling that happens when there's no obsession.
I like that they kept the lockers part since it means you can still use it to counter a mori.
Personally I'd like them to maybe change another popular perk to be an obsession perk so that there is more change of having an obsession every game. Maybe Unbreakable? When you get off the floor by yourself you become the obsession and show your aura to the killer for a few seconds. That way there is a lot more chance of having an obsession in a game.

Thanks lad 👍

Hag is perfectly balanced
-
When the killer has Rancor and your getting chased as the last gen is completed.
-
He's good but shouldn't beat any decent swf.
-
Yea I've noticed this also. It's a real shame since a lot of the original community on here feels like it's gone. Unfortunately the more you post here the more likely you are to get a ban.
I've had a short ban for making a thread joking about balance in this game. It's a shame that people feel like they're walking on eggshells sometimes.
@MadLordJack said:
To be fair, we really don't know the circumstances of a lot of the bans. And as we've seen, pretty much anything can potentially get you banned. Even what I am currently saying is grounds to ban me and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.
We're taking a risk lol good luck to us I guess
-
One who's ability is so different that normal meta perks aren't useful for them. My idea for this was a killer with a built in generator progress stealing power but it could be anything.
Just would be cool to see how they would do this.
-
Perk wise it all depends I think they won't touch anything. Would say the next "nerf" will be a change to twins to make them less campy.
If I'm lucky it could be Hag..
-
No point trying to revive a dead post.
People see a DS thread and see a dev replied to it and think it's current. Don't reply to this thread.
-
Current Ruin helps with early game. New Undying will also help the early game. For some reason your trying to imply the early game lasts 10-15 minutes.
The early game is only the first few minutes of the game which new Undying won't really effect too much.

Exactly. Undying was used for 1 Hex-Perk and thats it. And Hex-Perks are not meant to stay up all game, if the Devs would want to have it like that, they would remove the Hex-Part.
I had games where I cleansed 4 Hex-Totems and still Ruin was up, because on some Maps, the Totem Spots are really good. IMO Undying came too late, if it would have been around before where most Maps (aside from The Game) had really bad Totem Spots, it would have been more healthy and could have gotten nerfed once there were more Maps with good Totem Spots.
And especially in Soloqueue (or 2 man SWF), you cannot really afford to run around and only do Totems, because there might be other players who do the same, the regular gameplay is going on (Chases, Unhooks, etc.) AND there will always be the occasional people who dont do anything.
I am looking forward to see Undying with more Hex-Perks.
In solo q you have 2 options. Force the chase or rush gens. With how bad red ranks and matchmaking is you need to be using your time very efficiently. If your not doing either of these your going to lose the game because of terrible teammates. Adding to this the constant search for hex totems it's just too much for solo q.
The totem spawns have gotten a lot better as the new maps + reworks have been happening. The only terrible map left (Disturbed Ward) is now getting changed so Undying being fixed is perfect now. As soon as Coldwind is fixed then we should have good totems spots on basically every map.

Yeah my overall opinion is it's a good change. I too hope to see some devour games ran with undying.
Yes definitely it was a healthy change to game. Even against swf the time it buys is uncanny if you have had to cleanse all totems to remove ruin.
Now the calculations I made were to try and show people how often the unfair part of undying occurs. Yes it's not a metric to gauge an escape rate but it definitely plays a part in the escape rate of ruin + undying games. I was trying to point out that the killer complaints about it being overnerfed are fairly valid because two undying totem cleanse games were very escapeable in my opinion.
Fair enough lad. I wish more of the community understood why this change was good but you can't please everyone.
I might even try using Devour on some of my other killers after the change.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/222654/most-survivors-are-just-bad-at-the-game
Not necessarily cater but make the experience the most fun possible - yes. The reason being player retention. Old ruin was changed for this exact reason. Bad against survivors who hit the hex skill check and stomp new players who cannot. You'll find that other games that players compete (Counter-Strike, League of legends, Overwatch) will balance to the highest level of player because anything that gives anybody an unfair edge will be abused and you lose that true ability to compete.
Ruin + Undying is strong in any part of the playerbase because no matter what it always increases the time ruin stays in the game. New ruin is much much stronger than old ruin in the highest level of dbd because the killer can pressure survivors off generators to receive instant value and time saves.
Was it overpowered? I'd argue no, however, the RNG element of cleansing up to 4 totems was very mundane to me and almost guaranteed a loss because of the time waste. The probabilities are as follows:
(1/2)^1 = 1/2 Games of ruin + undying cleansing the undying totem first time.
(1/2)^2 = 1/4 Games of Ruin + Undying cleansing ruin twice.
(1/2)^3 = 1/8 Games of ruin + undying cleansing ruin thrice.
(1/2)^4 = 1/16 Games of ruin + undying cleansing ruin four times.
As you can see the games where you cleansing ruin more than twice is fairly unlikely and when you cleanse less than 3 times I'd say both sides have a fair chance to escape or 4k. This is why killers think it's been overnerfed and I agree it should be two totems. However, everyone surely can agree that cleansing 3 or more ruin totems is getting way too much value out of undying especailly when no player has control over this.
I am always an advocate for RNG elements to be stamped out of dbd where possible and this nerf has done exactly that. That said, I do agree it should be two totems post nerf.
The thing is the chances they made were very good to other hex totems. I genuinely believe we will see more lullaby and devour hope games because of this change.
I would agree the nerf isn't what I would've done but the change they made was actually a healthy one for the game. The games where 4/5 totems needed to be cleansed were stupid and pretty much a guaranteed lose while playing solo q. If they made Undying two totems I wouldn't have been against it.
I will say though the probability thing can't be used to judge escapes. Other factors like how long it takes you to find and cleanse totems, whether ruin lasts the whole game, the map and who the killer is effects all the escape rates.
-
In my recent solo q games these are the perks I feel like I needed to run.
DS - most matches had no obsession which meant the killer just tunnelled survivors. Especially when matchmaking puts me with green rank and lower teammates.
Kindred - it makes it easy for my teammates to know when they should save me.
Dead Hard - chase extending perk because 9/10 solo q survivors never last long in chases.
Last perk I feel like is up to you. These 3 above are the ones I feel like are a must in solo q.

I barely Play survivor and im glad i don't because it's too easy. You can have up to 4 second chance perks because the Devs favor survivor fun more then killers fun. They should balance around good players not urban immersion claudettes that just hide whole game. Make people git gud at the game and not just make everything easier.
Survivor isn't easy. If your playing solo q you die more than you live because of bad matchmaking and the fact most survivors are terrible.
The devs don't favour either side, even if they make some questionable decisions at times.
-
Most survivors are bad at the game and that's why playing solo q against Ruin + Undying was too strong. It's why against 1000 hour swf teams it wasn't as op because they were all good players.
The devs shouldn't balance the game around the top 1%. The chances they've made to Undying were actually good and breath new life into other hex totems that weren't used.
-
I only run ruin on Trapper and Twins (no other perks). It's been a long time since all 5 totems were cleansed but the times that it did I just felt like "God you've had a bad game". If I let the survivors cleanse all 5 totems and they all reach endgame then I knew I played horribly that game.
-
Goodbye Hag. Though I'll be keeping her perks.
-
Courtney Gears or Doctor Nefarious. I don't mind which of the two you choose.
-
It might not be Nemesis. The good thing about the RE series is that it has a whole host of characters to choose from.
Someone like Wesker could also be the killer. The survivors can be literally one of 5 different characters.
Imagine if they did a double license deal with RE. This chapter being the old RE (Nemesis + Jill) and the next chapter could be the new RE (Lady from RE8 + Ethan).
-
I also do miss it. I've recently started switching off crossplay if I'm getting quick lobbies as killer or survivor. Want to text and chat to someone after a match.
-
Hi local I hate Hag guy here just to inform you why I personally hate her. This won't be as long as I could normally make it so it'll be sort and sweet.
Hag is either extremely strong or extremely weak. If the squad all have urban and flashlights then it's horrible for the Hag player. The fact that a killer is balanced this way just shows how badly balanced she really is.
Camping Hags are obviously horrible. Good Hags make you crouch everywhere or die (slow and boring). Scroll Wheel Hags give you no chance of reacting. 3 gen Hags make the game last 20+ minutes (usually Sloppy is run). She has some broken add-ons (Rusty Shackles and Mint Rag).
Ok this isn't as short as I was hoping but I tried my best.
-
If your playing at red ranks and are a very good player then yes it's extremely bad. I've recently played a decent bit of solo survivor and it is just painful.

This is quite funny to read. It's that bad I'm certain it's actually bait.
Using your logic I'm going to try and create an argument for the other side. Btw this isn't my actual opinion I'm just doing this for comedic effect while showing some flawed logic.
All killer want is an easy 4k every single game. They want to be able to win every single game without needing to use any brain cells and putting in minimal effort. If they can't tunnel and camp for an easy win they cry for DS nerf. The only challenge they actually have in this game is swf so they want it removed because of how broken talking to my friends is. Imagine also saying the devs are "survivor favoured" when the last 4 maps are massively killer favoured.
Again need to state this is a joke message just to expose bad logic.

Well i did pose a question several times in the thread which i guess you did not read. Main post is just to grab attention. With the pop nerf, and the slated Freddy and undying nerfs, why would survivors want NOED nerfed. What do survivors want killers to have?
Only baby survivors want noed nerfed. I feel like the Undying nerfs made sense which is why I'm happy with the changes their making to it.
Freddy unless I'm wrong I thought they only said they're looking at his add-ons.
-
No add-on and no scroll wheel Hag.
-
So your creating a discussion just to cause the community to argue with each other.
Ok lad.
-
This game cannot have a MVP system or play of the game moment.
The real game changer moments aren't always obvious and maybe aren't short enough for overwatch still clips.
-
1. HAG - I've said enough about her
2. Twins - Hate their play style
3. Deathslinger - This could've been Spirit but because I usually run Iron Will I'm not choosing her. This guy just makes trying to loop extremely frustrating, especially with really bad connections and hit validation.

I don’t think that’s very fair.
They, like any game studio, have no legal, no ethical, no moral obligation to be 100% transparent with its community of gamers.
We as gamers should stop expecting this from them. It’s very invasive and oppressive.
They have no obligation to be a 100% transparent with us that's true. However they are quite secretive on things that don't make sense.
Why not let the community know if they're looking into DS? They don't need to say "we're changing it this way and this is when it's happening". I don't see why they can't just say something simple like "we are looking at the perk to see if it is being used in situations it's not meant to". Even if they say "we aren't looking at the perk" then at least we can move on or try and give good reasons why it should be looked at (OoO).
Why not let the community know if the information in the survey is actually doing anything? So far I don't think the surveys have made any difference to the game. I always mention the tome one in particular where it asked us what we'd like in the future tomes. We haven't seen them change at all. I'm certain the results weren't implying that we wanted 25+ charms per tome.
Again we don't need every detail from them. Stuff like we don't need to know when a chapter is licensed or not. I'd love to be wrong but they just are secretive sometimes for no good reason.

You even remember people's reaction when blight was revealed? A lot were disappointed in the very concept of his power which is pretty boring by itself.
I think it was because people's expectations were so high that a pinball ability seemed like a joke. I feel like now people appreciate his ability a lot more.
I personally also believe the lack of a trailer before the killers ptb appearance really made his reveal feel more disappointing. The better received chapters in the last 15 months (Oni and Pyramid Head) had trailers before the ptb.
-
Yes
-
Hope your in a swf. If your not then just give up tbh.
Hag is just Hag.
-
I'm shocked even one person said yes to being able to buy charms. I think they are one of the single worst things the devs have added to this game ever.
-
I played as them maybe 7 or so times in the past few days. Needed to complete the hitting survivors with Victor on their back challenge.
They are useless, boring and unfun to play as. Unfortunately for me I hate no gen defense perks on them either.
-
As survivor I feel like Shelter Woods is the worst map.
As killer it's Rotten Fields.
-
Hag is just extremely boring to face.
There are a few types of Hag:
- Good Hags: Have to crouch everywhere because they basically have trapped every tile and gen on the map.
- Camping Hag: 10 traps around the hook.
- 3 gen Hags: Only guard 1 corner with 3 gens. Usually a 20+ minute game.
- Scroll Wheel Hag: They teleport so fast you have no time to react and get easily hit.
- Add-on using Hag: Mint Rag for easy distant camping. Rusty Shackles for easy gen and hook grabs, with no information given to the survivor.
- Baby Hag: That terrible at the game they aren't even fun to get chased by. Usually end up camping their first hook.
These can overlap which makes every game with her horrible.

Agreed.
People likely asked for more "Free cosmetics" in that rift survey, considering they have more than enough cosmetics to throw a freebie out every now and again. I don't mean rift grinds or Shards either, I mean free.
They likely warp feedback to suit their own needs. "You guys want free? Here are some crappy charms no one wants...but its free!"
I can understand not adding more free cosmetics because that would require too much work from them but free shards and maybe an bloodpoint/xp bonus would've been nice.
-
I like the idea of the player satisfaction survey's but I feel they make absolutely no difference to the game.
The example I always give is the fact that between tomes 2 and 3 they brought out a survey about the tomes. They basically asked what would we like from future tomes. I would bet my life people weren't asking for 25 charms per tome. Bearing in mind stuff like bloodpoint bonuses and shards were other options.
-
One of, if not the worst maps in the game for me as survivor. Shocked it wasn't fixed with the rework tbh.
