I want to see Ashley and Luis skins. A Dr. Salvador skin for Hillbilly too.
-
Alessa is already an outfit for Cheryl.

I don't see why that matters, but I play on xbox.
Boil Over's ability to mess with the killer's control is significantly weaker for PC keyboard players than controller players. PC killers barely notice it exists when used against them.
-
Taking away control is one of the most frustrating things a game can do to a player. It's a bad idea in almost every game in almost every context. No survivor would want to play a match where they sit there and do nothing while the killer runs around as their character.

Can someone explain the thread title to me? Who or what is Darktide? What is "from uber doge to mlem doge" supposed to mean?
Guess I'm just to old for this sh!t ...
Darktide is a Warhammer 40k 4-player co-op first-person horde shooter game about conscripts fighting demons. It's a sequel (sorta) to Vermintide, a similar game but in the Warhammer Fantasy setting.
But I have no idea what "uber doge mlem doge" means.

Slugging is a valid strategy. However, Knock Out should probably be adjusted to hide the downed survivor's aura for a limited time, somewhere between 30 and 60 seconds probably, so that it doesn't disproportionately empower this strategy.
-
Getting value out of an off meta perks reeks of testosterone.
What does that even mean?

so the final verdict is that the medkit update sucked and shouldn't have existed, more and more I see the survivors' items getting worse and worse or simply useless (broken key, just take this item away, no one uses it)
Nah, Medkit nerf was one of the best things to happen in a long while.

They seem to have limited ideas for what to do with male survivor skins in general, but Jeff specifically. Let's play more with Jeff being an artist. Or Jeff living in the wilderness in Canada (IIRC). Let's find different shapes for his clothes besides the same muscle tank and baggy jeans.
I forgot Jeff was Canadian. They should have given him a hockey fan outfit by now.

A character of Arabic or other Middle Eastern ethnicity/culture could be cool. But just because it doesn't exist doesn't mean you're being discriminated against. There's no Polish characters either, it doesn't mean BHVR hates Poland.

I've never heard of this. Can't be that hot if even Markiplier has made a video on it.
It's a low-budget low-effort low-quality "game" designed for children who still like FNAF. It has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and has become a joke among the indie horror game scene.

right so if you loop killer for 30 seconds which should be easy with extra health-state+hold w distance, a swf can bodyblock you by creating berlin wall as the injured survivor just runs forward towards an exit gate if your m1 killer with no instant down or fast catch-up.
Adrenaline doesn't give people SWF squads, that's irrelevant.

I do not agree with that notion of balance. survivors do have free escape perk in end game. the perk is called Adrenaline. Its just not as good as old decisive strike end game.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3420988#Comment_3420988
decisive strike in end game gave you slimmers of chance to escape against those killers in end game.
I do not agree with that notion of balance. survivors do have free escape perk in end game. the perk is called Adrenaline.
That is not a guaranteed escape perk. That is a heal and a speed boost that happens before the gates are opened. If a killer is chasing a survivor with Adrenaline, they still have a chance to catch and down them. That is not comparable to Decisive Strike and Off the Record making it possible to run out the exit gates with 0 risk of failure.

The Tall Man is one of the most terrifying horror movie villains, though it's more psychological horror.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQFn0e5d00Q
Quote from Phantasm II: "You think when you die you go to Heaven? When you die, you come to US!"
Oh that Tall Man. I have a really hard time remembering Phantasm, I've never seen it. I wouldn't actually mind him though, that's one character I think BHVR could actually make work in DbD.

What is and isn't lame is subjective and you can feel how you want ofcourse but you are in the minority if you think chucky is lame.
They still made movies and even tv-series. In term of horror icons chucky had very little downtime.
Might hurt some nostalgic spirits here but Chucky is a bigger icon then Jason or Freddy. They ain't around anymore
Chucky might be around but he devolved into a mediocre comedy franchise. The killer Cabbage Patch Kid is not bigger than Jason and Freddy, both figuratively and literally.

PinHead is a literal demi god with no weapon and Nemesis is a bioweapon, do either of these really fit to you? I mean Sadako is literally an evil video tape, a lot of things don’t fit dude..
They fit because they can run around and kill people with interesting powers that are fun to play with. Though Sadako's isn't that good, which proves that these concepts have limits to what makes a fun character to adapt to DbD.

How do IT and Shining not fit? We have a K-Pop star and a manga cosplayer, but a clown and an axe murderer don’t fit?
A lot of people really hate the K-pop star and manga cosplayer, myself included, so maybe you shouldn't use them as positive examples.
What is Jack Nicholson with an axe going to do for an ability? Summon typewriters? He did literally nothing unique or interesting that could be put into a video game. He had no powers, no gimmicks, no quirks.
And IT is an interdimensional demon who does nothing but psychologically torment people for the majority of the movie. What's he going to do for a power? His funny little dance? They couldn't do Freddy Krueger right and he's the same thing, you think they can do Pennywise better?
-
I like the skin, except the spiky arm guards, those look ridiculous with the rest of the outfit and turned me off from it completely. It's a shame, I liked the shirt and sunglasses on him.
I think it would be nice if Jeff branched out into other rock music genres once in a while. Give him a flannel shirt so he can look grunge, or something classic punk. Punk is big in Brazil, I've heard, it would have fit better.

That’s not my point, my point is the last two chapters have been awful and this chapter might be just as bad, being licensed would at least be less salt on the wound.
and yeah we have a ton of horror licenses that could come out.
Well CandyMan, Chucky, Jason, The Thing, Alien, Predator, IT, The Shining, Tallman.
Candyman is lame, Chucky is lame and wouldn't do anything original, Jason wouldn't do anything original, The Thing doesn't fit, Alien and Predator won't happen, IT doesn't fit, The Shining doesn't even SLIGHTLY fit it's just Jack Nicholson with an axe how is that even a little bit interesting, and who the hell is Tallman?

I don't care about e-sports.

Playing killer and not having Dead Hard looming over my head like an axe on a rope has felt like I was discarding a weight I'd been carrying for years. And I've only been playing since January! I can't imagine how much of a relief the veteran players feel. Survivors running faster for a few seconds is not nearly as frustrating as a constant "gotcha!" card that was so potent that most survivors ran it, in spite of how "easy" it is to "just bait it out".
Watching footage of pre-nerf DbD matches where two or three survivors are using it is like staring into a nightmare. The killer is trying to wait it out but the survivors keep spinning in circles several times mid-chase. And then the killer swings with no warning and they some how DH perfectly anywa. Any mechanic that turns the DbD experience into that deserves to die.
-
Nothing wrong with sex appeal, but try to be a little tasteful about it. Trickster and Skull Merchant ain't tasteful, it's obvious they're designed to sell on sex appeal and that's not enough to make a character good. Vittorio is definitely a fanservice character and I think his design is silly and out of place, but at least he has a decent story to him.
-
I don't care who/what the killer is so long as they're fun and functional and don't encourage unhealthy playstyles. That's all that matters.
We've run low on famous and beloved horror icons to put in the game anyway so anyone getting upset it's not a licensed character is just being unreasonable. I'd prefer well-designed original characters over shoehorning in weird licensed characters that barely fit into the game.
-
I love playing killer against Davids. He makes the most hilarious noises. But other thirst-trap survivors exist now so David players probably jumped ship to Felix and Vittorio.
-
The only thing wrong with Wesker is his glitches where he grabs survivors but bumps something weird and they fall out of his grab unharmed.
-
What's the significance of 5? 55 million points, 500k Bloodpoints, 500 Iri Shards, 5 Rift Fragments. Is that how many holidays are in Golden Week or is it just to represent the weekdays? Or is it representative of May as the 5th month?
-
Just don't go in the orange circle.
-
Even if depipping was fair, it's still completely pointless since Grades are no longer a system tied to matchmaking. There is seriously no reason for it to still exist. It doesn't encourage good play, because good play is not always feasible, and most players are already trying their best anyway. Earning pips encourages good play, depipping just makes players frustrated and upset because they're often depipping due to circumstances outside of their control. And this is a game where circumstances are often outside of a survivor's control by design, yet they're punished for it anyway.
-
It's not really any more advantageous than standing around the corner with Insidious.

Honestly I wish Thwack was more relevant in chase in some way because that’s typically when breaking a pallet happens. The only really funny thing I’ve seen with it is when a survivor tries to blind a killer at a pallet and the break action triggering Thwack interrupts their blind and they get hit.
There’s just so many other options for info that are better.
I wish it was like the pallet break equivalent of Superior Anatomy where it lets you break one pallet very fast, but only once per activation.
It would pair great with Skull Merchant's other perk, Game Afoot.
-
I want the Lock-On toned down so survivors can ignore it for a while, but the drone range increased. I also want the Claw Trap battery life extended so that the drones remain disabled for longer.
-
Shouldn't more things have progression meters? Shouldn't everything? Healing, totems, chests, and the gate? Why only generators and dying survivors?
-
@Jejune said:
It promotes killing yourself in order to use a perk.
Now imagine every survivor using either of them and just fighting eachother to get hooked to get to use a perk. That doesnt sound fun for anybody yet its the best way to use these perks.
That is not the best way to use those perks. Anyone using those perks in that way is not playing the game correctly and deserves to lose.
-
Complaining about a perk doing what it's supposed to do.

Why do survivors get notified?
The scream is so that it bypasses Distortion.

If it did happen, you'd be trading Shadowborn for Lightborn because you'd only be getting blinded from angles you'd never expect.
Already happens. Killers can be blinded by survivors that aren't even on the screen.

The most OP killer in the game is whichever one is outplaying me at the moment.
-
I play soloQ and it's fine. There's good matches, there's bad matches, but that's every video game to ever exist ever. My encounters with completely brainless survivors are bad, but I still encounter many other survivors who do gens, unhook, heal, and run loops.
And it's not like it's the game's fault when your teammates are bad, either. BHVR can't buff them to be smarter.
-
I don't think I have ever seen anyone use Overcome, ever. Honestly I wish they did, it'd be interesting to figure out how to play against it.
-
I also want Amanda's Letter reworked to let her keep all 4 traps but they have significantly extended timers, like 30 seconds to a full 1 minute extra time to keep it balanced. It doesn't feel worth running the add-on when it weakens her necessary slowdown so much.

I get why so many killers are choosing him. His power is actually interactive and requires input on the killer's end.
Compare that to Knight and Skull Merchant. You press M2 and the thing just happens passively. Zero skill curve to it. It's horrendously boring.
I'm not sick of Wesker so much as I'm sick of these bland killer powers. More killers like Nurse/Spirit/Billy/Oni/Huntress/Plague/Wesker less (or no) killers like Skull Merchant/Knight
You got 7 examples of killers you like and only 2 examples of killers you don't like. Sounds to me like you have plenty already and don't need more.
I like Knight. I like trying to be strategic and putting my guards where they need to be. I think it's fun and satisfying when I make the right call and catch a survivor with a guard. If they make more killers like him I'll probably enjoy them too. Not every killer needs to be "skilled" just like your favorites. You already have plenty of killers that require "skill" so stick to them instead of insisting no one else should get anything different.

It's a sign of submission.
A lot of Killer players never got the love that all children deserve while growing up, so when they see someone submit to them they are overcome with so much happiness that for a second they forget they hit start in order to make other people's life as miserable as humanly possible.
"Killer players were abused as children" isn't the take I expected to see on the DbD forums today.

That's BHVR's favorite kind of nerf.

Who told you that? That sounds totally made-up.

I've started to think the injury mechanic of Razor Wires and maybe Interlocking Razors should be basekit. SAW is about doing these puzzles that hurt you horribly yet you need an add-on for the Jigsaw Boxes to injure survivors. There is blood coming out of the box as they search them! But nothing actually happens to them without these add-ons. Make the injury parts basekit and play these add-ons up as making the skillchecks more difficult to succeed.
Or alternatively, rework the Jigsaw Boxes into a unique puzzle minigame like Skull Merchant's drones.
I also wish her ambush was buffed. I don't know why it needs the roar to telegraph it before it even begins. I almost never use it because just uncrouching and hitting the survivor with M1 is the superior option in most circumstances.

I dont know, I would play Wesker for this who is stronger and also has passive Slowdown.
Wesker's slowdown isn't passive, he has to actively attack players with his power to apply the slowdown effect. Pinhead's slowdown is just a timer in the background that the survivors have to reset occasionally.

Just asking, cuz I saw A LOT of people complain on Reddit that it’s more annoying then Dead Hard where you get the same distance as using DH and it’s ‘braindead holding W with speed’. You miss the old DH or are you more used to see Lithe and Sprint Burst every game?
I still use Dead Hard and it still gives me a lot of value! Does anyone else also still use Dead Hard?
‘braindead holding W with speed'
People really overrate skill expression in DbD. This is not a technically complex game, most skill lies in tactics and strategy, not pushing buttons super good.
-
We're Gonna Live Forever definitely needs its description cleaned up. While i don't think I agree with abbreviating them as much as you suggest, a lot of perks need a rewrite pass to make them more concise.
-
Instead of consecutive matches, it should just be a rising XP bonus for every match played with a 24 hour period, then resetting with the dailies. Maybe I want to play 3 matches now and 5 matches later.
-
Please remove the extra swaying. Keep the rest. I'll even take that buff suggestion that it increases the stun on the killer if you escape their grasp. Then people could stack it with Decisive Strike and have their anti-tunnel set-up again. Doesn't matter to me, just get rid of that awful swaying back and forth, it's infuriating.
