The evidence says that I am correct. All you have provided is anecdotal evidence. You feel like it's better

Real comp players (the best of the best) got locked into a 50 minute match against an extremely average DM. I have NEVER seen a Plague do that.

DM Drones allow her to hold 3-gens and the threat of those Drones is immediate. You NEED to disable them first, which guarantees Overcharge and CoB value. Plague relies on her own presence to create pressure.

A M1 killer that downs you in 1 hit or a M1 killer, that has stealth, a Haste effect, has something to make skill checks extremely hard to hit and downs you in 1 hit?

There are some slight differences it seems... A Plague could not have made Eternal miss all of these skill checks, much less patrolled the gens that quick due to her lack of movement speed, which would have made her unable to kick them that often. The stealth part didn't even matter in that game because it was an open map and a comp SWF. But it does matter for your average solo queue group.

I can't take actual comp players using the most effective strategies possible because..idk but will talk about effectiveness without showing evidence.

Idk man but evidence has shown how problematic the cringe merchant is, some people literally played her because she was able to hold the game until people gave up.

If plague had this issue maybe she could have had the same effect on the game, which she did not have at all, however this can be explained by the lack of the gen kick meta when plague was released, however plague was not used unlike SM during this meta.

I am really sorry but your crusade since release to defend the absolute failure that has been the skull merchant, lore, balance and fun wise has even been proven by the devs actions as a sunken cause.

  • They added 2 more traps up to 10, and gave him Haste. And later they will (or already?) have traps spawn near Gen so no more spawn at the corner, I dont think they will ever give him TrapperSack. Even if he has 6 traps, I still against the idea of giving him all traps. All he needed were fog, grass, and darker light.

Iron grasp into basement with 6 traps was never healthy.

  • Hang on, Killer has a DC button too? I thought its only exclusive for survivors...

  • @fussy said:

Nobody wants it will be nerfed hard. Only thing many people want is getting stacks become harder, because now it's too free, unless killer has full aura build.

    Or...not using aura perks.

  • @Evan_ said:

I'm personally more than fine with survivors using half of their perk-slots for things that isn't gen, chase or info stuff.

Though I hate how Distortion also hides scratchmarks. It's cool that they counter my info perks, addons or powers, but why do they have to counter basekit tracking along with it?

    @Aven_Fallen said:

So... You dont want to sweat, but you want every game to be a win?

But aside from that - Killers are not happy when Survivors use gen-focussed Perks. Killers are not happy when Survivors use Chase or Second Chance-Perks. And apparently Killers are not happy when Survivors use Stealth-Perks. Now, there is not much left aside from Self-Care to be honest, lol.

The thing is, the current Killer-Meta involves A LOT of tunneling. More often than not, when you get found and hooked, you will have to deal with being tunneled afterwards. And ALL Anti-Tunnel Perks are not really good. Neither of them. So the logical reaction is that you avoid being found.

Especially with strong Perks like Ultimate Weapon around.

I also dont like it, because I really dislike if people use Stealth-Perks, since I like to run Information-Perks. But as a reaction of the tunneling meta, I completely understand why more Survivors go this direction.

EDIT: More evidence for my point is that the remaining Perks are a Exhaustion-Perk AND an Anti-Tunnel Perk on each Survivor.

Blindness is a weak effect until Jeffs teached killers it isnt.

    image.png

How stupid it is for Ultimate weapon deny survivors' basekit abilities to see slugged and hooked teammates. Because the info and denying over 20 survivor's aura perks arent enough.

That just sounds like bad survivor play. She has to hit you to build condemn when you have a tape, and she doesn't have much to help in a chase. Grab a tape, spread out, do gens. If you need to get rid of stacks, stay on a gen until she's chasing someone else. Don't let condemn build past half so you can take a hit of you need to. It's really difficult to fully condemn anyone if you're doing basic stuff like that. If they manage to pull it off, tip your hat to them and move on to the next game.

If a Sadako can easily down you at will in a chase, you're going to lose to any other killer too.

You miss my point like new Trickster misses his target.

LoL I can't tell you how many times I go to deposit a tape and she comes out of it.

Thats the point of Sadako’ annoying part that I wanna make.

Sure I can run to another TV. What make them think I can reach to that TV before Sadako can teleport on it again?

A single TV is a race between me against Sadako and 3 teammates. Sadako may not tele to the 2nd TV that Im coming, mean my teammates will struggle to get/deposit their tape.

Eventually 1 of us will get fully condemned for a mori.

  • @Hunkulese said:

You contradict yourself multiple times while answering your own question. Doing nothing but teleporting doesn't work against most survivors.

Grab a tape and she has to chase you and you get to participate in the match. If she isn't running the iri that makes you have to run across the map to deposit your tape, it's pretty trivial to get rid of your condemned stacks.

What if Sadako teleports to the TV Im running toward to get?

lol every team that not a good 4man on comm is mid level mmr to these guys.

To get win streak, means starting a new match they have to guarantee its a win. Tunneling is to ensure the winning. So they can count on their winstreak.

For myself, using Myers without Gen slowdown and Green addon, even hindered myself to one hook everyone before 2nd hook others (and do the same with last hook). And I had 68% kill rate with 72%

I really dont think killers is that hard. If many other able to make 200 winstreaks and I can not (by using the same build and play style), its me who is not good enough.

  • Blastmine only requires doing Gen, ChemTrap also requires a dropped pallet.

Killers will always kick Gens to regress, which always happen. But can ignore pallets because alot of pallets are unsafe too.

Mmmm. I don’t agree. Can’t call it “tunneling” or “punishment” when it’s out of my control and leaves me with no choice.

To your POV, you play the game normally. To survivors who dont use Distortion, all they see is you just coming back for them, and they have no idea until out of the game seeing all teammates have Distortion.

I just explain, why survivors who dont use Distortion pitching about tunneling, because they have the right. You said like they use Distortion so they should not complain about being tunneled.

If you understand how the human brain works, then you're truly a rare breed (it's a good thing btw)

If you mean human tend to do the easiest thing first, yes.

But for me with old Trapper, or Sadako for @radiantHero23 & Freddy for @GeneralV . Despite the killers were weaker (admit that they needed a slight QoL), but we know how to make it work which make the killer so unique for us. Now its easy for everyone, the time we spent to master those killers were pointless now.

    • If I was in the looping with a survivor in tittle A, and there are tittle B (with one hard to be seen trap) and tittle C (without trap). I could manipulate survivor to chaining to B but not C so I can get use of the trap. I think that's the most unique skill of mine with Trapper.
    • Now you can put both traps at tittle B & C pallets (because you have so many traps but not much good places to set), and hope there is no other survivor coming to disarm the obvious traps, rendering them useless. But if not, its dead end for the chased survivor.
  • @HugTechLover said:

Yep. I have many a survivor b**ch at me for tunneling them, when I’m running full aura and two of their teammates have distortion.

Technically they were right, you punished survivors who dont use Distortion.

Similar when killers complain about survivors use multiple second chances but out right tunnel survivors who dont use. Which, force them to use multiple second chances.

We can realize, people dont use Distortion because they dont want to get chase, hiding all the game. People use Distortion so they will not be the only one killers see their aura.

  • Many killers are stronger, I believe Trapper is alot stronger with 10 traps and Haste.

But I dont like how he plays now, I gave up on him. There are people like their killers because of the way killers play style, not strength.

New chapter every 3 months? I dont care for 2 years now, any character they add I dont care anymore its the same.

They take several years to add some setting games made in 1996 had.

Its just tiring to make excuses for them anymore I guess

I had been in similar situation in studio. The artists were so passionate about the project, even CEOs cared about the improvement and progression. Its when the CEOs decided to open more projects and hired more people for other projects, all the artists of the currently project were mostly over worked to fund for other projects.

That is when the higher ups & CEOs only see the current project as a money maker. No more innovation.

killers wanted Med-kits and COH nerfs because everyone being healed meant that weaker killer have to hit survivors 2 times instead of once.

what killers have asked for is their chases to be meaningful when they hook survivors. what killers got was nerf to pain res, nerf to dms, nerf to eruption and nerfs to pop goes weasel. So instead of their chasing meaningfully slowing the game down for killer if they play well by hooking people, their chases mean less because they get poor game-delay from said hooks. The more hooks they go for, the faster they lose.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3612524#Comment_3612524

If everyone runs Deja vu which is 6% repair increase, you can get 84 seconds gens which is similar to 80 second gens especially if you account for 1-2 great skill-check to further reduce this to like 82 seconds. You get free BT so it is not like your losing a perk slot for what you were running before. You can now just use old perks of Dead hard, Decisive strike, Adrenaline, WoO from 5 years ago.

I also don't think med-kit nerfs are that big of a change purely because running a red syringe+med-kit is still 2 heals and running a combination of med-kit+gel dressing with skill-check add-on is 2 heals or running 2 charge add-on is 2 heals. 24 second healing is old-self care which is a perk that 99% of survivor ran in dbd 2017. Even if your not using add-on, a single free-heal from a med-kit is sometimes enough in some games.

The only nerf to med-kits is sloppy butcher and they're gutted mangled in few months anyway so soon med-kit change will be almost meaningless.

Coh needs to go. Medkit change was complicated

    • Able to self heal manytimes is a problem that killers can lost pressure.
    • Reduce the self healing speed make medkits from chests a completely waste of time. Its better to sit on Gen injured hope a teammate comes to join, you should not spend half a Gen time for a single health state from Medkit chest.
    • If they made items spawn from chests and keep self healing 16sec. That should save killers alot more time.

Boons are not worth to use. Healing are not worth to use with Sloppy or being tunneling that you dont have a chance to use. Aura is under Ultimate weapon meta.

The problem isnt how long a Gen can be done. Its if killer gets the first hook and decide to tunnel before 2-3 Gens done, its over for average survivors.

  • I think luck should adding the chance to get better item/addon in chest at least. But chests are so useless now so I dont think luck needed a rework...

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

Killers wanted this meta. They wanted every side objective survivors have to be nerfed: CoH, medkits, chase perks etc.

Now survivors have no reason to leave gens.

    • Adding 50sec Gen basekit.
    • Almost remove self healing with Selfcare, Coh, Medkit nerf.
    • Instead of healing in 16sec before doing Gen, survivor just do Gen being injured with Resilience + Adrenaline.
    • Killers thought the Gen time extended from 106sec (16sec healing + 90sec Gen) into 114sec (24sec healing + 90sec Gen). But no, it dropped down to below ~83sec with Resilience.
    • Now killers want Gen time to be increased further so survivors have to be injured doing 114sec of Gen.

If 5 meters is face camping. Then where does face camping stop and proxy camping start? Also, where does proxy camping stop and camping start?

There is no difference between standing next to the hook and 6m away. Both can hit survivor right off hook by pressing M1.

Everything has a gray zone that can not set a hard limit. When does Gen rushing start and not Gen rushing stop? 12 hooks before Gens done is not Gen rushing; and 11 hooks before Gens done is Gen rushing?

  • Putting something on the ground (or in the air) and it just staying there was never meant to be "chase killer"

Trapper, Hag, Knight..., why would you like to chase if your weapon is on the ground? It was so obvious

There should be something new to core game mechanic, like EGC. At least twice a year. Able to see teammates' perk and HUD is not even core game mechanic change, just improved QoL

Im not sure you understood what he said, he ment that it gives "a free health state" because they run away and therefore they are not getting a hit.

If it is dead heart / off the record or other second chance perks, or if it is the perks OP mentions. The end result is that the survivor gets away from them with out loosing a healt state.

I mean, if you want the game balanced around survivors sitting on a deadzone Gen that forced to getting a free hit.

    1. Decisive strike
    2. Dead hard
    3. Made for this
    4. Windows of opportunity
    5. Distorsion
    6. For the people + Buckle Up
    7. Sprint burst
    8. Lithe

I actually saw a YouTube vid yesterday that made me think of this post.

    https://youtu.be/vIrnB4c20oE?si=u6Rbg49MSecBSfy5

At 1 minute into the vid, you see 2 survivors cranking out with 1 of em being injured against a Wraith. This would NORMALLY be a risky play, but FTP BU removed the risk. This didn't require wasted time on either survivors part.

I still think it would be fair if the combo is FTP + WGLF + MFT that requires extra perk slot and some work on WGLF to pull it off. FTP + BU effect is powerful only because it only take 2 perk slots and no building up.

FTP alone is rarely used, even with MFT release, FTP + WGLF + MFT were never a thing. FTP only get really popular after BU change.

  • I think PTB in Jan 2024. Which the next chapter will be Live?

I dont understand, higher FoV would be better benefit. Why dont they just increase FoV to the maximum setting of the slider? I dont think the slider option is needed.

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3608770#Comment_3608770

You have to think about avoidability. It is much easier to use FTP than it is to make a Flashlight save in that regard.

If I were going against Flashlights, I can look away, I can stare at a wall, I can equip perks to counter it, I can bait the Survivors out for a free hit, and even with all of that, they can still mistime the Flashlight save, they might not even make it in time or have an angle based on their positioning.

With FTP, especially in a SWF or with Empathy, you can easily coordinate when and where to provide a Survivor a health state. If you want to make things even more simple, you can just instantly use it after unhooking to prevent tunneling.

FTP is easier to use and yields better results in the right hands.

Flashlights are weak, overrated, and easily counterable.

Have you ever think of Swf can simply down in the middle of open space on purpose and teammate has Background player?

  • @Iron_Cutlass said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3608723#Comment_3608723

Id rather play against Flashlights over FTP.

Hands down the most overrated item in the game, completely countered by looking away or staring at a wall, better off bringing a toolbox to shave time off a Generator or a medkit for self-healing.

Well, if you prefer flashlight save that being stunned with 1 being injured and 1 being healthy ; than "flashlight save" that leave 2 survivors injured after success without the stunning. Okay.

  • Before BU change, I have FTP as counter teammate tunneled build, and it works like once per a few match.

Unless that random teammate down at the other side of dropped pallet or window. The time to pick up teammate is not enough before weapon cooldown, especially with STBFL, very situational that flashlight save would be far easier to do and not losing myself a health state.

Without BU. Would you like to play against a FTP, or a flashlight?

(to be true, success a FTP back then feel really good because it was rare, but it is too easy to pull of with BU now)

  • @GroßusSchmiedus said:

Or remove all current bloodweb items from chests and replace them all with a stronger "chest-tier" items which you are not allowed to keep like Flashbangs. I think this would make the game more interesting and fun while buffing chests a bit.

Perks could also be changed to help with that, as Risidual Manifest, Scavenger and Pharmacy would also give you the strongest version of an item in the game and hopefully increase the pick rate.

Some items and addons are op. But items in general were not a problem, its the no-time required to get items through searching and unlocking.

If you find a Commo toolbox in a chest, its fair; but not if you have it at hand at the beginning. Thing is, chests in the trial rarely give you powerful item, in the opposite items you bring in is fully customizable

  • I dont understand why some killers are 110, and some are 115.

M1 killers like Trapper/Doctor...need 115 yes, because they dont have oppressive chase power. While Spirit,Hag are 110 that they should use power to catch up survivors.

Blight though, its not that I want him to be nerfed down to 110, but I dont understand why Devs put he's in 115 group. He has 230 speed

Edit: So I think that 110 has 24m TR, while 115 has 32m TR. With Blight speed, Devs had to give him 32m so they just dont rush on top of you without the time to react, which is why he has 115. Note that Wesker has 40m TR for this reason.

But now seems like speed & TR are not fixed together like back then, Deathslinger case for example.

Shadowborn, I have no earthly idea. The glowing idea is neat, though.

The idea was even before Lery rework, and Lery early reworked was really dark (other realms too).

    Lery now, much brighter.

Glowing would be so useful back then, but I dont feel it worths a perk slot now.

"There's the argument that two people will be off generators as the perks require it. That could be the case sometimes, but people seem to forget about communication. It's very easy to predict when you'll go down to killers based on their skill and distance. Three people can work on generators, one person will just have to be near the chase doing a generator. This isn't difficult to achieve if someone's looping at shack and you're doing a generator nearby. As long as you're in the area and ready for the call, you have a opportunity to use it. Obviously that can't always be the case for zoning killers, but it's definitely possible. Two people on generators constantly is also more than enough to win games. [...] There's the argument about injuring the person following the chase. This is more easily said than done. With communication, it is very easy to get knocked in a designated area where a teammate is hiding. They don't always follow the chase, the other survivor brings the chase to them. If they do follow very blatantly, taking a hit means you lose all your progress on the injured survivor in exchange for a injure on a different survivor that will waste a mere 16 seconds of their time getting healed, ready to do it again." - my new discussion.

The power of communication answers that one.

Communication only make the time Meg has to find Clau alot less. Communication does NOT make Meg teleport right next to Clau to get healed for 16sec, then teleport right after you chasing Dwight ready for the next FTP. That you were trying to point out that 16 seconds does not equate to how long the extended chase will now last. Simply holding W will give you that much time.

Communication reduces the time being wasted, not the time being required.

  • @Krazzik said:

I wouldn't say 'literally no one' but yes they're pretty unpopular.

The problem has always been the RNG nature of them, you can have a game where your Devour is in a nasty place and never gets found, or you can have your Devour AND Undying cleansed in the first minute.

Players generally prefer reliability and regular hex perks are just too unreliable. Some of them are also just way too weak for being so RNG, mainly Huntress' Lullaby, Ruin, Third Seal, and maybe Thrill, but even the genuinely strong ones can't do anything when they're cleansed. You also basically HAVE to bring Undying which means now half your build is being used for a single perk, and it's -still- very RNG even with Undying.

The better ones are the unusual ones like Plaything, Pentimento and NoED, mainly because they CAN'T just be cleansed really quickly.

Overall I don't really know what they could do, maybe just don't light them up until a minute has passed or something.

I think Hex should be an alternate time buying than strength, because of you dont decide where Hex spawn. Make them all work like Plaything.

This is my idea for Hex in general.

So because you are afraid of people talking on the mic (which you can mute), killers should have to suffer through SWF gen rush? Do I have that right?

If adding voice comms for Solo, and Solo dont want to use it. Then the improvement of Solo's escaping rate does not improved. Then the average kill rate is not changed, which killers also will not be improved aswell.

Devs monitor if a feature changes kill/escape rate to make further change. If a feature decrease kill rate, they will improve killers. If not, they dont.

You're thinking putting a useless feature for Solo that no one wants to use means the Devs should buff killers further without monitoring performance of a feature, and leave Solo behind even further. Do I have that right?

yeah dude let me bring a build with full hexes that might result on 0 value on my matches at the cost of survivors gen rushing the game within minutes more easily due to not having decent gen defence.

A single Hex at least buy you 14sec of Gen time. Even if they see a Hex at distance, it still take them a few sec to run toward, and extra time to run back to Gen. Which can cost 1/4 a Gen. And thats still not counting the searching time, and effect value time.

You're underestimate the time a Hex can buy. People only see 14sec of cleansing. Its only worthless if survivors spawn on top of Hex.

  • Feel older chapters should be even cheaper.

Like after 2 years, chapters (Macabre) get 25% cheaper ; after 3 years (Old wounds) get 50% cheaper ; 4 years and older get 75% cheaper.

    Still, alot better than nothing.

16 seconds does not equate to how long the extended chase will now last. Simply holding W will give you that much time.

Assume you're chasing Dwight and Meg follow.

    • Dont you count the time Meg follow behind you waiting for Dwight to down?
    • Dont you count the time Meg gets 60sec of Broken from FTP?
    • Dont you count the time Meg runs around finding Clau or Jake to heal?
    • Dont you count the time Meg gets healed by Clau or Jake?
    • Dont you count the time Clau or Jake spending time to heal Meg?
    • Dont you count the time Meg running around looking for Dwight again?

Or you think right after Meg pick Dwight up with FTP, Meg stands right under your feet healing with a Medkit that you count 16sec?

Or you think Meg Syringe to get healed up then doing Gen and following Dwight at the same time?

So where did you get that 16 number?
