Unless after 4 Gens, all 4 are healthy and no one on death hook, pallets are still many because they run so well, not even using Medkit yet…at that point, why killers think they should have a chance to win after getting beaten that hard?

Because the game isn’t over yet! What kind of question is that?

Why didnt you quote that line together with my last one?

Should 3 survivors have fair chance to get 2 escape with a teammate die at 5 Gen?

    4 Crutch perks from them

4 crutch perks of survivor 2

4 crutch perks of survivor 3

4 crutch perks of survivor 4

    Basekit BT plus haste

Anti face camp + hook grab removal

Literally uncounterable perks like buckle up + ftp

Unbalanced maps with infinites and god loops/pallets

The problem isnt killers being to strong.

The problem is 90% of survivors are literal idiots that dont understand general game mechanics but still insist that they win however they want to play!

Some does by mistake, some just to throw the game.

Thing is, is the effort that you stand in front of a hook equal to the effort the 4 random people have to input to counter it?

Is missile homing to a single injured target (tunneling) requires equal effort that survivors have to input to counter it?

Is holding W between 3 Gens requires equal effort for the remaining survivors have to input to counter it?

It is the same to a tap can deny a Gen kick. It wasnt about regression being slow and no damage input. Its the effort was not equal between a kick and a tap.

Oh and survivors using strong perks do not guarantee them to win. I can use 4 meta, take a long chase and teammates do totem and chest. I can use off meta and teammate stack Gen perks with toolboxes. I may just sit on Gen without perks and escape because killer tunnels the strongest runner.

The problem with a lot of 3 gen situations is if you chase, then the remaining survivors just pile onto one of the gens. If you chase, you lose the gen. If you don't chase and protect the gen, the game just slowly turns into the survivors whittling away at the gens until you lose the gen or until the survivors just lose patience and give up. Either way, it's a sucky situation. This is of course assuming the survivors dont make a mistake and you down someone during the 3 gen in which you are likely to win. Overall, the 3 gen scenario isn't really fun for anyone, imho. Strangely enough, some of the weaker m1 killers depend on a 3 gen, as they don't have the map mobility to defend gens farther away from each other.

    Depends

An injured survivors will sometimes leave Gen when hearing TR getting close. A last hook survivor will leave the moment they hear TR. An injured on last hook survivor will not dare to touch Gen

4 survivors are suppose to scatter around Gens. Why do you think the moment you start a chase, 2 of them instantly spawn at the most progressed Gen?

Its late game, pallet is less, chase will be short ; Medkits are depleted ,healing will take longer ; one time perks are used , they will be weaker in chase; Toolboxs are gone, Gen will take longer to do. You say like all survivors are as fresh as the beginning. Remember the longer the match, the weaker survivors are.

Unless after 4 Gens, all 4 are healthy and no one on death hook, pallets are still many because they run so well, not even using Medkit yet…at that point, why killers think they should have a chance to win after getting beaten that hard?

Should 3 survivors think they should win after a teammate died at 4-5 Gens?

I really dislike this logic. Apparently the only “real” high MMR killers play with bad/no perks because of this arbitrary “crutch” definition.

Would it be fair to talk about how many survivors have “boosted themselves to high MMR” with “4 crutch second chance perks”? I never see that brought up, but the inverse is so common in so many threads. “These killers are in an MMR they shouldn’t be in because [crutch perks/camping/tunneling/slugging/3-genning/playing nurse/playing blight/anything else survivors don’t like].” It’s condescending and insulting.

What perks are killers allowed to use and not be boosted?

    The way you say

    Survivor boosted themselves with

    • 4 crutch second chance perks

    And killer boosted themselves with

    • 4 crutch perks
    • camping
    • tunneling
    • slugging
    • 3 genning
    • top tier killer
    • And still not yet mention top tier addon.

Proof that its far easier for killers to boost MMR than survivors, especially Solo

If you stack just 2 of them in the list and not manage to get more than 2K, the MMR you're standing is already higher than where you should be.

I wouldn't be surprised. Some Killers would rather stay in a match until the servers shut down instead of "losing". That's how much of an ego war they take upon.

Killers can patrol loops between 3 Gens until server shutdown is okay.

But if all survivors just hide until server shutdown is not acceptable right?

Gen kick meta and ruin both got nerfed. Pain reso and pop too. Gen control is very thin lately and you complain about this too? The 3 Gen "problem" isn't a problem. Skull merchant amd knight and Gen kick meta created a 3 Gen problem. Instead of fixing them they hit the whole community with this 3 gen "fix".

Should 3 Gens that survivors make have to guarantee the last Gen should never be done?

I just have to mention that all of your arguments in this thread have been illogical so far- You say that one side shouldn't get a free kill while also saying that the other side should get a free escape which is straight favoritism which, as been demonstrated in controversies from multiple places, isn't a good standing in debates. And it's not free kills either because the killer already did the work to down + hook that survivor and it would get the message through to a lot of players to not be greedy during endgame because there's a decent amount of survivors who could've had 3 escapes in my games end up only getting 1 escape because they got greedy for the unhook. THAT is called giving free kills.

This trade is coming with survivors are losing their perks at end game. But killer does not. Killer still can get a kill with STBFL for example.

Survivors have only base-kit BT at end game. If we are gonna deactivate it, then DS and OTR need to back old versions. Buy it or leave it.

As @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said, devs are try to close the gap between with and without the perks. Is OTR combined with full stack of DH, DS to 100% guarantee escape fair? It does not. At the same time survivor not having those perks is guarantee death. That would lead survivors only use those meta perks.

Devs made it so with or without OTR, DS, survivors have the same chance of escape or dying.

    • Fail to find survivors at the same 3 Gens for 24 times.
    • Fail to get a hook without getting flashlight/pallet save at the same 3 Gens for 24 times.

I dont know how such that much mistake and killers still think their skill is high MMR and deserved to win. While thinking survivors making 3 Gens themselves should be an auto lose.

Kicking the same Gen for 8 times proof you failed to find survivor, or refuse to chase. You only want to make 3 Gens kicking loops that survivors never have a chance to finish the last one until there is a hook/kill.

The boon perk does have synergies if you use it with „Better than new“ though, then your teammates know where to run to make use of the bonus chest unlocking speed you give them.

If you want a Medkit from chest (where you spend 30sec to find a Dull, 14sec to bless, 15sec run to a chest, 10sec to unlock, 24sec to self healing). I suggest you to use Bond (where you spend may be 20sec to a teammate and get healed in 16sec).

If you want to find a totem (where you spend 15sec run into Boon range, 15sec run to a totem). I suggest you to use Map or either Small game or Counter force.

Map is the weakest item (and Items are already weak), that put into a perk, when perks like Sprint burst exist. You dont waste a Sprint burst to put a worse version of Map.

Tunnelling is OP. Any alternative you want to create that competes with it would have to be -more- OP.

    Tunnelling needs nerfs.

Yes, tunneling is the strongest basekit tool killers have. Success getting 1 out before the 3rd Gen done is guarantee win. Want another tool basekit that stronger than tunneling so they dont tunnel is wrong.

It works exactly like this on survivor part: Open the Gates for me, then I will do totem and chest.

In other word: give me free win so I will play nice.

  • I think Boons mechanic should be

    • Map wide
    • Nerf an aspect on each perk (remove aura from Coh, Shadowstep only hide either aura or scratch mark, Exponential only either increase recovering, or self picking up.
    • If snuffed, survivors can not bless again.
    • If there is 1 totem left that is Boon, and a Hex has to spawn, Hex will overlap Boon. Hex will priority over Dull though.
    • The number of Boon perk survivor brings, equal to the number of time that survivor can bless per match.

I understand, if it was up to me i would simply butcher a meta perk or two on each side for the sake of it every mid chapter for the simply for the sake of keeping things atleast a little fresh. However we both sadly know that any approach of changing the meta in anyway comes with backlash cause people just look up tier lists by some content creator or whatever and blindly copies what they are doing without even understanding it.

I will probably not touch Gambit myself simply because its boring, i personally want more creative perks like Flashbang, Dramaturgy etc.

I just did the math about Gambit. Actively running near your teammates Gen for 30sec would save 1.5sec : ))

Its far better to run to the opposite corner and down there, the time to get you to hook and go to your teammate Gen is far far greater. The perk is certainly not worth to use

  • Thing is you dont know how much the time you saved on Gen when using the perk. If you have a chance try to recording the game play and check how long the perk gets brighter. For each 30sec, you save perhaps....2sec

  • I drew this the 2nd day of this perk released in PTB, just a random drawing passes by.

    image.png

36m is 4 and a half titles distance. I feel the distance is decent, thing is, am I able to run for 30s actively both avoiding my teammates' Gen and keep being within the range, so boost Gen time by 1.5sec per teammate?

  • The addon that teammates able to see what you show should be basekit…Map and key are not fit in game current balance anymore without giving it a huge utility aid to teammates

OP had a point about the tunneling. If the obsession unhook someone, you're better off ignoring them and tunneling whereas before, you could still just chase the unhooker and go for M2s.

It was all about M2 obsession to keep stack and continue on tunneling. Now obsession can body block for tunneled teammate with some rewarding.

This has been the modus operandi of BHVR since 6.1.0. A tiny band-aid to some extremely specific uncounterable killer strategy, usually facecamping, that doesn't actually address the issue, a baseline buff to killers, a couple killers get an add-on pass, and some miniscule number tweaks on perks. No followup to verify that their band-aid actually addressed the issue. Is the rework terrible or not? PTB probably won't help because they're going to make a massive change between it and live anyway.

Meanwhile, the new survivor content is being told to be happy they're getting camped by a Bubba/Huntress/Trickster/Slinger/Ghostface/Myers from 15m instead of 2, and 3 gen hostage situations will only last 20 minutes instead of 40. This 3 gen 'fix' doesn't do ######### when gens are so close they can touch, or in a recent Hens video, is actually a 2 gen because the third is unreachable/inescapable without going through the other two. And even if it did truly mitigate just one of the many, many "unfun situations" (to use BHVR's own vernacular) that killers put survivors in, which none of these have in the slightest, that's not the same as getting anything new or decent.

Making "unfun situations" suck SLIGHTLY less is very far from providing fun situations. It's like they're not even looking at survivor perks or gameplay at all for the last year and a half, except to nerf a random meta perk or item into oblivion every six months.

I wasnt complaining about balancing part..

The patch isn't necessarily about Killers themselves but survivors not getting more interesting stuff to play with. Like Nicolas Cage was the last and only time in a while they actually got some new and interesting stuff.

Players should not be relied on new chapter to get new content. Some slight change to unused old perks for possible new perk combo builds should be a thing in all mid chapters.

However i do agree they should be much less scared to touch meta perks.

Peks change are much more meaningful to killers, that they can try new perk change combo on a killer, then the others to see which power fits best. But not so much for survivor, BU change is only be used with FTP and thats it.

remember me works when the obsession loses a health state by any means, so i think we can imagine how it would work

and i will add some points there:

blood rush is not a problem and i agree, i just wanted to point out every way to lose a health state (i like to use it but meh)

actually 🤓 ftp makes you be the obsession when you use it, you don´t need tto be the obsession or something

if you for some reason have a friend with we gonna live forever, you can use plot twist and make them heal you how many times you want, it can be really good for end game saves if the killer has it imo, cool macro interaction

trapper is not a strong killer and i think survivor with friends can abuse it a bit against them, my only real problem is the trapper being the only killer that lose stacks without having control of it

poor trapper, suffering from success :(

actually 🤓 ftp makes you be the obsession when you use it, you don´t need tto be the obsession or something

    image.png

If they're the obsession in the beginning, good for them. If they're not, that requires the 2nd use of the perk to make it works. Just randomly put myself injured and broken instead of healing other is never a good play. 2 stacks dont worth the effort.

Trapper is something else, I cant explain, if his traps dont count as a hit/down. There would be many other perks not work on him, Honing stone and Infectious fright for example. Blood favor, Hysteria, Remember me, Dark devotion...

the problem is: obsesssions using blood rush, for the people, plot twist, steping on traps etc will make you lose stacks

We dont know yet about losing a healthy state by anymean. But

    • Blood rush is rare, require being obsession, and only 1 use.
    • FTP making used alot because of BU exists, FTP was never that famous before BU change. Requires being obsession. FTP can make it work the 2nd time they use though, but is it really worth all that work to lose killer 2 stacks? I rather heal Dwight and keep both of us healthy, than injures and broken myself.
    • Plot twist is 1 time use mid match and 1 time at the end, also requires being obsession, not big deal.
    • Why on Earth should I being healthy and step on trap, losing a heal state myself just to make you lose 2 stacks of STBFL...? A survivor lose a healthy randomly at the opposite of the map is always Trapper's favor. With or without STBFL.

Unless a survivor use DS to take the obsession role then use BR, FTP, PT to lose your stack like 3-4 times in a match.., but do you think such perk build is easy to pull off?

The most crucial part of STBFL counter play is the obsession recognize it and willing to body block ,take hit mid chase on purpose that some M2 killers can by pass it. Not those perks

I also think so too. Now that tp has no cd, she can spam every TV at the start of the match to instantly build a lot of Condemn and disable every TV preventing survivors from grabbing Tapes. The strat would probably be:

    • Spam TVs at the start
    • Stall for all TVs to come back on
    • Repeat

About her changes, I always think about no/short TVs cooldown lead to constant spamming. Even if survivors are not near TVs/holding a tape. Its always about teleporting just to deny tape for survivors.

  • First map visual rework was in Sep 2020. 4 years after the game release. We are going to have the last map visual rework soon.

This Sep 2024 is 4 years since the first map visual rework. I think we need the second Yamaoka and Badham visual rework : D

  • Last brush stroke: You feeling great and proud of yourself after finish a painting. When a Gen is complete, remove Exhausted, Haemorrhage, Mangled, Hindered, Blindness.

Abstract painting: Not all people can understand your works. Your scratch mark spread 50% wider.

Isolation focus: You prefer to work when no one around you, enhance your focus. When you working on a Gen alone and not in Terror Radius, you do Gen 5% faster.

Rough sketches: You make various sketches to decide the best direction for your works. Work on each different Gen for 3sec gains a token, once you get 7 tokens, you can see all unfinished Gens' aura.

Blank canvas: You try to collect references as much as you can. You're able to see Gens aura, Totem aura, Chest aura for 20sec at the start of the match.

Yeah I don't know about the gen changes. I'm fine with 8 max regression events per gen. But 5% and 5% to stop regressing will massively buff perks like Pentimento, Thana, Dying Light, and Gift of Pain. It will be hard for survivors to make net positive progress in a 3 gen scenario. This change may actually have the opposite intended effect at the end of the day.

I re-read it, and I think its not that bad. It goes like this:

    • Kick a 50sec Gen, it dropped to 45sec.
    • If a survivor instant touch the Gen, Gen stop regressed and gain progression. If they touch for 4.5sec and stop, nothing happens. If they touch less than 4.5sec, Gen regressed again.

I think it fair, 8 kick max per Gen is not too many, but also not little.

  • I feel the spamming is even stronger now? No? Survivors will always be near Gens, which TVs are nearby, she can start teleport at the beginning at the match without cooldown to both denying On TV and inflict the stack even more. I dont play Sadako, I just tell what I understand.

  • Im not sure about Gen kick, a Gen kick with survivor instantly touch Gen will take 12.25sec just to gain back the exact progression. About 5-6 kicks in real match will add an extra Gen. Seems alot for me.

    1. This really doesn't happen nearly as often as you try to pass it off.
    2. Why are you upset over the survivor getting 3 chances when the killer gets an endless supply of them?
    3. 'Survivors are the true power role!' No, they aren't. They never have been and never will be. 'Power role' does not mean 'Overpowered', 'Unbeatable' or 'Always wins'. The killer dictates the survivors' actions, not the other way around.
    4. So should we just be blind to how perks interact with the rest of the game? Because in that case, we shouldn't fix hook spawns because they're not an issue. After all, we can't incorporate Boil Over into our balancing.
    5. It is part of the complaint. The OP complains that if he hooks close to the gate, he has less opportunity to intervene if the survivor gets unhooked. Solution is to not hook by the gate.
    6. Where'd you pull the gates from? They're talking about the survivor being -in chase- after the hatch is closed. A survivor's not gonna open the gates while the killer is chasing them, no matter how far apart the gates are.
    7. It's a terrible mechanic -to you-. Because it may occasionally deny you one (1) kill. Everyone else understands the role the hatch plays in keeping the game fair and worth playing.

Also, if you were to remove hatch, kill rates would soar and most killers would need to be kneecapped and that's going to be much, much worse than occasionally having a survivor get out.

I want hatch removal so the game can finally be balance around 5 Gens done every match.

    The bias is astounding.

Your statement was "killer should not get a free kill in endgame because they lost the game" my response is "survivor should not get 4 second chances to escape because they also lost the game" You have to beat survivors 3 times in order to kill 4 of them. You have to beat them at the base game. Beat them to the hatch, and then beat them at the gate. Why do they get so many chance yet killers get 0?

    Okay...

  • @MrDardon said:

Getting to endgame doesn't automatically mean you've lost.. not sure where that always comes from.

Second, there might not be a hook in range, so you're forced to hook near the Exit. Also, the Survivor can literally run towards the Exit, making it impossible to reach a far hook.

I'm okay with it being hard getting a kill, but there is a difference between "hard" and "impossible".

You as killer able to see Gates, mean you should hook far away from Gates. Hooking near a Gate is your fault.

Manage a hook trade is a huge advantage to killer. 1 hook Meg willing to trade hook with Dwight, but 2 hooks Clau will not trade hook. If Meg trades hook with Dwight, its another survivor that can not trade hook.

You as killer will always prefer survivors to take a risk to save 1 teammate. If things go correctly, you will get more than that 1 secured kill (I dont say you get more than 1 kill, because its possible that Jake already death, and only Meg, Dwight, Clau left), which can give you 2 or 3 kill.

I usually use Blood warden, Rancor, Remember Me, Noed..and most of the time I leave all 4 alive before the end game to let them taste my end game build. The most disappointing thing is 3 survivors just leave the one on hook.

Hook grabs shouldn‘t have been removed. It only encourages hook trades with no risk. I liked the mind game, before the grab that you had to do. Often I got grabed one mili second before I unhooked someone. Good times.

I‘m not a fan of perks deactivating in endgame. In my opinion they should be active for both sides, otherwise STBFL will be patched soon to not work in endgame. Both sides should be able to have an interesting endgame with chances.

The AFC feature is really annoying. If it wouldn‘t deactivate, endgame would already be a lose with no chances for killers. So I think they meant; they don’t want to take away all chances there.

Trade 1 with another 1 is already the risk...And STBFL exists.

Joke aside. Its been a while I havent play against a Pig, if interupted, is the bar progression completely removed?

If so, I think they may only need to keep the key searching progression saved on each box.

Even if WGLF was reverted I don't think people would use it when we have Buckle Up which is objectively superior.

Buckle up is nearly useless without FTP. Just like UB without DS in the old days, you may able to use it once every 10 matches against killers who slug.

    I disagree, my friend.

I am personally not okay with BBQ and WGLF having lost their bloodpoint gains. Those perks were extremely healthy to the game, for a myriad of reasons, and I believe they shouldn't have been touched.

In fact, even those who want to make the journey towards P100 would be pleased with their reversion.

I just mean too much BP defeat the purpose of rarity of things on Blood web. I feel there is no reason to use Brown addon 30% setting trap faster, while I als have Green addon 50% setting faster. They should just remove Brown addon.

  • Why is a Gen being 1250 BP still insane for me. Are we suppose to do 5 Gens alone? 300 BP per heal. Are we suppose to heal each other 30 times?

An increase in the overall bloodpoint gains is cool, but WITH WGLF and BBQ reverted.

What happened to those perks is unacceptable.

I really think gaining alot of BP (combine with items/addon being alot of cheaper) making strong items/addons too easy to get, making weak and low tier item/addon being ignored in loadout and not used. I mean if 1 match give you 1 Brown, 1 Yellow, 1 Green, 1 Purple items, you should use Purple item every match.

Im fine with less BP being earned, to make purchasing more meaningful. But blood webs have to be alot smaller, and less node to gain levels much easier.

They're just annoying black and white perks for both sides.

Ether they're oppressively powerful and never get found or they get destroyed in under a minute. Standard hex perks that just are destructible extremely powerful perks aren't that healthy for the game imo.

For me, a perk is worth for killer if it buys them 1min. The time spent to find Hex + Cleansing already half over half a min, if Lullaby manages to make survivors miss just 3 skill checks, killers already get enough value from it.

But sometimes survivors spawn right next to Hex, denies both searching time and effect time, it only buys them the cleansing time in the beginning.

Compared to my other games, DbD is nothing

If yall are wondering: For Honor, Apex Legends, Overwatch

But I dont get it, other games both side can use the same characters (one side can use more meta than the other though).

In DBD, its normal to have players play only 1 side, giving a full bias pov in case of gameplay and balance. Which can lead to be more toxic. Though its lucky that I think DBD is the only game where you can not chat during the match.
