Depips do serve a purpose. They are an obstacle to the 1 million bloodpoint reward for Grade Iri I every month. Getting to Iri IV and earning 700k BP is already pretty easy, it's only the last few steps that pose any real difficulty.
What do you expect? Just to be able to log in on the 13th of every month and collect 2 mil BP without actually having to earn it?

Dead Hard often gives so much value that it can be game-changing when done right and it can be used multiple times a game.
I think it should have more conditions put on its usage. Something like they can't use Dead Hard until after they have been hooked at least once.

I just wanted to see if they could come up with anything at all for a response.
I've been having horrible games in DbD and was seeking some entertainment.

That video literally proves me right. Don't three gen yourself is valid. Thank God the devs Don't listen to these forums, and do whatever they want anyway.
Explain exactly how the survivors could have prevented the 3gen in that video. Please be specific.

You're showing me the chart that says Sadako is way stronger than Nurse? You've made some decent points but this kill-rate chart argument is just laughable. More people play Nurse than Sadako, so Nurse's killrate is going to be lower than Sadako's since not everyone who plays Nurse is good with her. This chart is not an accurate representation of the strength of each killer, even GF.
Never said that solo survivors deserve to lose. I just said that no matter how many buffs soloQ gets, they will never be as strong as SWF. Even if soloQ was given comms, there are still plenty of people who don't want to talk to their teammates and just want to play the game. Refusing to buff mid-tier killers like GF to protect soloQ is a weak argument.
So you're saying GF shouldn't have permanent Night Shroud but he also shouldn't get buffed so that it takes longer for survivors to reveal him. What do you suggest then? I'd like to know your thoughts on how you would potentially buff or change GF.
Again, he's not a terrible killer, but as a GF with hundreds of hours playing as him, he could use a slight buff.
I'm showing you official data that influences BHVR's decisions. They listen to to that data much more than a couple of plebs arguing in a forum thread.
While SoloQ can't ever be as good as SWF, the game should be designed in a thoughtful enough manner that things don't get added to the game that are easily countered by SWFs but difficult if not impossible to counter by SoloQs. That's bad and irresponsible game design. While SWFs will always be above SoloQ the devs should do their best to not artificially widen the gap with crap like Eruption.
You identify map pressure as one of his issues, perhaps a reasonable buff that wouldn't be so objectionable would be a passive slowdown in addition to or related to his current powers. Maybe survivors have their gen repair speed reduced by a percentage if they have been at least 50% stalked and if a survivor isn't stalked or chased for 5 seconds their stalk begins to decay and takes 15 seconds to decay down to 50% and then they remain 50% stalked. GF would get some gen slowdown but trade it for a bit of lethality, but keeping 50% stalk would still be powerful since he'd often be able to expose people before they could reveal him anyway. Just something off the top of my head, you can take it and run with it.
To be honest, I wouldn't change or buff Ghostface. I don't care about him.

I still think he wouldn't be OP even with permanent Night Shroud, but I think he could at least use a buff to his reveal mechanic. It's currently way too easy to be broken out of stealth. Maybe increase the time it takes to reveal him to 2.5 seconds or 3 seconds?
Solo survivors and SWF will never be in the same league. Even if they gave solo survivors comms, there are still plenty of players who would never use it because they just want to play and not be forced communicate. The whole point of the survivor role is to work together as a team, and solo survivors need to accept that they will always be at a disadvantage even if killers like Ghostface receive a massive buff.
If I'm sweating my face off to get a 3K or 4K, then they should be sweating to not get grabbed off gens.
I think that a lot of the licensed killers should be buffed or reworked, and I think it's great that the Bubba rework made him stronger. However, survivors can't randomly deactivate Bubba's chainsaw, but they can deactivate Night Shroud on GF.
They have most definitely tested no red stain & terror radius killers and ruled them out. That's just never going to happen. Permanent Night Shroud would be exactly that. I suggest you pick a different hill to die on if you suggest buffing Ghostface.
His reveal time is currently 1.5 seconds while, his expose time is 5 seconds or 2.5 seconds when leaning so I can already spot a huge problem with making his reveal time 3 seconds.
Your second paragraph is ridiculous. 50%+ of survivor players are SoloQ and you sound like they just deserve to lose because they chose to play SoloQ.
Recent stats:
And he's in the same spot on the high MMR graph. By the official stats he's almost perfectly balanced.
Are you sure it's not a skill issue on your side? Are you a lazy Ghostface who doesn't lean-stalk enough?

I would agree with you if Ghostface had tons of map pressure and if SWF didn’t exist. But he doesn’t. And players on comms also destroy him. Losing your ability for 24 seconds (18 with Matchbook add-on) is brutal.
I’m a GF main so I’m not saying he’s terrible, but he’s extremely inconsistent on most open maps and very weak against SWF.
Also, is it too much to ask of players to have more situational awareness so they don’t get grabbed off of a gen?
I doubt they’ll take the time to rework GF again (I really hope they do though).
If you want Ghostface buffed that's fine, but removing his terror radius and red stain completely is not the way to go. It's a bad idea and a hard pass for most people.
Yes, it is too much to ask of players to have more situational awareness so they don’t get grabbed off of a gen. SWFs would have less issues but SoloQs would have to dart their camera from side to side like milk-dipped mouse in a cathouse for most of the game. It's bad enough with Ghostface in his current form and a healthy gen grab can be a tide turning event.
Only one licensed killer has had a positive rework (Bubba) and the rest are either left to rot (Myers, etc) or got destroyed. (Freddy, Pig) At least Ghostface gets new skins.

What would give you that impression?
Player numbers according to Steam Charts are way down. Viewing and streaming numbers are down.
DbD is currently a dumpster on fire and BHVR is hoping it will rain rather than show up with a fire extinguisher.
DbD should be BHVR's flag ship, not a ship wreck.
-
I'm willing to bet back in 2016 before the game was released they started off with a killer that didn't have a red stain or terror radius and they figured out that they needed to add something to the game to give survivors some warning that the killer was coming and that killers having no stain or TR were powerful.
I imagine they put more testing into this before Myers came out and made him move slowly when he had no TR/stain because it is that overpowered.
I'm also willing to bet that before Pig was released she was probably tested with a faster crouch/uncrouch and they found she was ripping people off gens left, right and center and thus they had to nerf her crouch speed.
I think SpookyLoopz was more interested in pushing content out rather than making good suggestions. The suggestions I saw him make were enough to make me not watch the rest of the video, his ideas were that malformed.
-
I was sure to give them a scathing report card for them to ignore.
-
These errors were copy-pasted from the last survey.
-
If the Trapper starts with all of his traps than he can just post up on a 3 gen right from the start of the match without ever having to leave.
This was probably what stopped them from giving him all his traps in the first place and would be even worse with the current gen kicking meta.
Don't ever expect BHVR to elevate Trapper. He doesn't sell DLC.

A lot of the commentors on here were saying "restrictions on survivors so more killers are used" and you somehow turned it into the rules are in place because it's survivor sided? I don't get that.
With highly coordinated (they are using clock maps) survivors on comms, DbD is firmly survivor-sided. These teams without restrictions would mean that weak killers can actually get no hooks before the gens are done no matter how good the player playing the killer actually is. Any body-blockable M1 killer falls into this category.
-
BHVR doesn't care about DbD anymore. They only care about MyM.
-
Sadako's kill rate is inflated above her own merit as a killer partly because she starts with 2 strong slowdowns in her pocket that other killers don't start with.
-
The amount of planning the Cups tournament did to make DbD work in a tournament so well is actually staggering and quite impressive.
It just goes to show what an unbalanced mess every aspect of DbD actually is and nothing in DbD is actually made for competitive gameplay.
-
Myers is fine.
Only the Broken Tombstone should be reworked, since it's a holdover from an ancient era of DbD when moris were instant.

- Run the facehugger and avoid impregnation.
- Harass the gestating chest buster while it's trying to grow? (like in the movie, gotta catch it before it becomes dangerous)
- Final form is still loopable, you just get fewer second chances.
I think the facehugger actually killing the first survivor is a huge problem actually. It would give the Xenomorph such a gross advantage from the get go, especially if you give them 1 shot downs later on.
I get it, it would be certainly fit Alien lore, but gameplay-wise for DbD it would be really horrible. DCs would be such an absolutely massive problem for the Xenomorph. "The facehugger is chasing me/has latched on to me. Might as well DC and move on since I'm dead anyway."
I think the Entity would have to interfere or something and have the facehugger not kill that survivor somehow. No killer deserves 1 nearly free kill every game, I don't care how cool they are.

I know, it'll never make it into the game, but the idea's got me going now.
So lets say you've scurried around and found your victim, you can choose right now who you want to eliminate first so you could choose strategically and try to eliminate whoever you think has a Boon or something. You latch on, this inflicts that survivor with Incapacitated and the survivor has to struggle for 20s to get you off. At the same time, you as the killer gets a wiggle-like skill check system, and if you build up your meter before the survivor can pull you off (it would be a very close tug of war, like you realistically won't lose it unless you miss 2+ skill checks) then you impregnate that survivor. If not, you get to try again.
Now you're following this survivor around (kinda disembodied I guess, but maybe with a gestating embryo graphic on screen). You continue to have wiggle-like skill checks, in order to build up your gestation meter. The higher you get it, the more of a headstart you have once you burst out. Meanwhile the survivor has a 60s countdown, which depletes twice as fast if they do objectives, but they benefit from a +25% bonus to action speeds including repairs, or twice as slow if they stay perfectly still. (values may vary ofc)
Once that timer is completed, queue signature chestburster mori. Now you're in chestburster stage and you're vulnerable, but so are survivors. They can stomp on you, and you respawn as a chestburster, but doing so will injure and put them in deepwound. It also means you get another guaranteed one-shot kill 50-80s later. So it's a big risk-reward.
If they don't stomp you out, then you scurry away until you're further than 40m from a survivor, and you get the option to gestate, holding down the action button while you stand still and pulsate and grow and stuff. If survivors come near you in this time, the progress slows to 50%, but you can pause it and move away. This process takes you through two phases, each of which take about 30s of static gestating to reach. (but you've already built up a bit of this while inside the host)
Phase 1: Immature stage, you can attack survivors as a basic M1 killer, but not pick them up. Carry on gestating to unlock...
Phase 2: Adult, fully formed, perfect organism. Your basic attacks inflict deep wound and mangled on healthy survivors, your lunges are +50% longer, and you have a Shred-like M2 power that puts survivors straight into the dying state unless they have Endurance.
So all in all, it's about a 2.5-3 minute tier up loop, in which one survivor is one-shot eliminated, before you become fully deadly. Very much like infinite Tier III Myers with a tombstone piece.
Survivors get time to do probably 2-3 gens free of charge, but then those last 2-3 gens are much harder.
Interesting idea but what would be the counterplay for survivors? There would have to be a way for survivors to draw out the gestation cycle to buy time because if there are 2 gens left with only 3 survivors left against then the Xenomorph is winning every game.
-
As survivor, if I see a Pig for the first time at a distance they almost always get a "long distance" boop from me but I don't go for the close boop unless they invite me in or later in the match when I'm dead on hook and desperate.
As Pig it depends on my mood. If boops happen I'll point my nose up and act like a cute piggy.
I with DbD had more stupid goofy fun like this. I can't think of anything that would make DbD appeal more to its favorite audience; the casual.

Make Ruin 150% and remove the "Hex-Part", but keep the disableing when 1 is dead and you wont see Gen-Kicking as mich as now. Or increase Jolt-Numbers.
I disagree.
They have to do something about the Eruption, Call of Brine and Overcharge meta that allows killers to go into a brainless cycle of kick 2-4 gens, down someone, repeat and win strategy. Buffing Ruin and Jolt doesn't fix that problem.

If all we get is the icons, bloodwebs stay long and they do nothing to change the gen kick meta then no it's a bad update.

We are having this discussion since 2017 and by extension we are having this discussion for many more years.
I posted my suggestion and it got dismissed. Fair enough. You will get a perk nerfed that needed no nerfing just like you did with every other perk in the entire game. This will never stop. Every year people cry more and more while playing worse and worse and they don't even realize it. It's funny and sad at the same time but what are you going to do? Shitpost on these forums is certainly a way to pass the time. I'm sure some big ass content creator out there will make it all right just like he did the past 200 times.

On a basket weaving forum filled with notorious whiners and complainers? Yeah I respect the hell out of that.
Eruption didn't exist in 2017 so it certainly isn't the same discussion.
Also with only 43 posts you haven't been doing much discussion at all.
@proxy_taxfraud said:
Don't let the brain rot get you to germia. Eruption is perfectly fine. Maybe lower it for 5 seconds or whatever to stop the whining.
This is your first post in this thread and absolutely every single post you make in this thread is condescending and patronizing to whoever you are replying to. It's like you think we're beneath you. Why should any of us respect your opinion?
Lowering it by 5 seconds wouldn't be a bad start, but still incapacitation is just an awful effect for a perk to have.
If you're talking about your silly 2 seconds on 2 seconds off strategy that's still not good counterplay, still gives the killer way too much Eruption value and is just gambling.

You're just proving my point.
You can't actually defend Eruption so you have to to attack my post and use offensive language to appeal to the emotions of people reading your post rather than actually having a rational discussion.
Did you even read my post or did you just see the vid preview and immediately post your crude reply?

Yeah that's what we need. Yet another dead perk that nobody will ever take. Not even for meme builds.
You know what, let's just remove all perks. Play naked. I know you won't because complaining is literally the life juice of every dbd kid stuck in perpetual puberty.
I play without perks and I am doing absolutely fine. I 4k almost every single game I play perkless and addonless.
Also escaping isn't that much of a problem, I just don't play surv as much as killer.
I haven't seen anyone asking for Eruption to just be hard nerfed across multiple threads.
People asking for the incapacitation to be reduced or removed and willing to trade that off buffs of the perk in other ways. There are trying to be reasonable in their requests.
Everyone defending Eruption fail to come up with any good reason for Eruption to keep its incapacitation at 25 seconds. Why is 25 seconds of incapacitation good for the game? The only reason is that killers like winning or just punishing survivors. But they can't just come out and say that so everything the do say is ridiculous.
Here is a great video showing how stupid Eruption and the gen kick meta is:
https://youtu.be/4HZJuUOHfUg -
The amount of times I've been accused of tunneling when I haven't and even when I went out of my way to not tunnel is staggering.
When I am playing killer I am a wolf and I care not for the opinions of sheep. If the game was toxic, I just drop a swift "gg" and leave the lobby immediately.
Sometimes I do tunnel because I just don't care anymore.
Call me jaded, because it's true.

Not sure if you’re being serious, but in case you are, why would they tease action icons like this if they might be scrapped?
I think the survivor icons are what they are highlighting here and this leak makes me think they might be coming as early as the next PTB.
I think the pallet/window combo might have been an oversight and I don't expect that to come into DbD at all. If it does I will be pleasantly surprised.
-
This is either bait or a really bad take.
I think this is a great change for DbD and will not factor into its downfall.
It's kind of like tossing a single ice cube into a raging dumpster fire at this point.
-
For me it's the pressure. I would love to have good long chases with skilled survivors but in DbD it is almost always a losing choice. Chasing good loopers is incredibly punishing. If I encounter the good looper first in the game and commit to chasing them, often that's 3 gens popping in the distance before I get the down and I've only broken a few pallets to show for the chase.
The correct play is always to not commit to the first chase or the good looper (get a pallet if I can and leave them) and pressure gens, chase and kill weaker targets who give up pallets more easily. The good looper is easier to deal with once they don't have the resources to loop with and members of their team are already dead so the pressure isn't there.
DbD should have a 1v1 mode where the only thing that matters is the chase.
-
Not all anti-loop is boring.
Killers like Wesker, Oni and Blight have exciting anti-loop to play against.
Killers like Clown and Knight have boring anti-loop.
-
This is why the idle crows mechanic is still a poor implementation. Idle Crows are only obtainable by basically standing still and doing nothing and is easily circumvented by getting in and out of lockers or picking up and putting down an item.
If a survivor doesn't cleanse a totem, start getting chased or put 5 seconds of progress in 2 minutes they should get a crow, 2 crows at 2:30 and 3 crows after 3 minutes. Cleansing a totem or 10 seconds of either gen time or chase time should be required to remove 1 crow.

1000% incorrect
The survivor has a chance to escape via grab, the survivor will 1000% die in the locker.
The killer is killling.
The survivor not escaping.
The survivor can choose to exit the locker and be killed at any time.
Myers can pull the survivor out of the locker at any time and put them on a hook or take a chance letting them wiggle off.
Neither side is held hostage. It is a standoff.
BHVR never considered old hatch standoffs a hostage situation back in the day either.
-
The secret agent image might be from the dev version of DbD and feature things that will never actually come to DbD.
Like it might be an older version of the Crow's Nest before it got released to DbD.
-
I still use old wiggle because I like to look around.
I hate new wiggle and hope they keep both wiggles in the game.
-
A great change.
Will it be enough to claw back all the players who have already left the game?
-
DbD's game health isn't even on the back burner for BHVR. It's that mold filled container in the back of the fridge that no one wants to touch. When the fridge starts to stink they slap on a layer of duct tape and maybe swap out the box of baking soda and hope the smell goes away.
They gave game health a fleeting mention during the anniversary stream and put it on the road map but it seems like nothing is being done.
If game health is so low priority, where does that leave quality of life changes? Just farts in the fog after 6 years.
At this point it looks like they're all in on Meet Your Maker. If that turns into a grand success I imagine they'll announce lessening or ending content updates altogether for DbD.
-
DbD started on PC. There would be no DbD if nor for PC player choosing to buy and play it in 2016 to 2018.
Problematic PC players are an extremely low percentage of the PC player population.
Your "best solution" is no solution at all.
-
This is most definitely the worst meta I've seen in the game since I started playing in early 2018.
I am worried for DbD's future. There is just noting to be excited for.
-
Honestly every killer should have a meme addon that turns off their power and turns them into a straight M1 killer and they get +100% in the Sacrifice category and tons in the Deviousness category.

It happened on saloon. I tried to bleed out. Point at hook and stay under it. Not wiggle. Wiggle free and do gen (that he can kick right after negating ANY progress I do). Try to have chases (yes I cleared all pallets in the map, but the game is designed so, that you will never fully shake off killer if the killer is not literal beginner or you don't have perks for it + huge luck). The other survivor was just hiding the whole time. All I wanted was to get out of the game at that point. I didn't care if I get spared or not. That was already way besides the point. In the time it took to play out that game, 3 quick games could be finished.
But what does it matter if killer only focuses you and the other survivor only focuses hiding? You can do 10 minutes chase and it will still not matter. Is there anything that I could do but forgot about it? Because I don't think so.
Well I guess that is a new hostage scenario I didn't know about.
I can't really say there's any shame in your game.
Internet connectivity issues always seem to crop up for me pretty early on if 2 survivors are dead and I get left on the floor while the killer has no clue where the other survivor is.
-
This sounds like a you problem.

Again. Killer picks you up but does not carry you anywhere. He lets you wiggle free and downs you again upon which he instantly picks you up. He can hold you in the game long enough this way, that server will shut down before you bleed out. WAAAAAY longer then 4 minutes
I am still not buying this pile of horse manure. But I'll entertain it. Why not?
If you've wiggled free you still have the stun duration to run away. You can definitely be way more annoying to the killer and force them to kill you rather than giving them what they want.
Also, if you run Dead Hard you can be extremely annoying. You can also put a kink in the strategy by getting away and then letting the mend timer put you on the floor so you can finish bleeding out.
Ratting out your teammate is a dbag move and you are giving a dbag killer exactly what they want. Rewarding that crap just encourages them to keep using that strategy. The killer has made you sink to their level.
