If a survivor manages a chain blind, good for them. The killer has ways to counter being chain blinded, so it's not toxic whatsoever for the survivor to do.

The survivor has to usually give up distance in hopes that the chain blind will work and confuse the killer to extend chase, which is the job of the survivor. If they were using a macro or clicking after they dropped a pallet and tbagged you, then you can take it as a BM, but a chain blind is nowhere near a BM. It gives survivors points to blind and there are multiple tome challenges that require blinding the killer.

For all you know, you just BM a survivor who needed to get blinds for the tome challenge and didn't mean ill intent. They could have meant ill intent, but not all survivors are trying to bully you.

She was teabagging which is why I actually got irritated. I dont mind it if they get me, its like hey u got me 🙌🏼 But the ones Ive come across that do that teabag 😡

I dont ever rage post I just take a sip 🍸. Overall its a game so I dont go all psycho. At the time It can get irritating though.

  • @redFlower said:

Just look up to avoid the chain blind. I don't think it's bullying, it's just their way of playing to survive.

Ohhh! U can do this? 😲

I play meaner when they do that. It's douchey. But the full team toolbox switches scare me more than the flashlight switches - with the flashlights, you know they're just going to chase you around clicking all game and gens are going to be slow. When it's a last second toolbox squad, you know they're going in hard.

I never even thought of the toolbox. Is that so they can keep sabotaging hooks?

I often play friendly as killer, because it makes me crack up actually playing WITH the survivors. I'll put on the Legion Bunny Suit, and try to organise a parkour race if I can find enough pallets and windows in a single place...

I have adopted A LOT of survivors at this point. I'm just soft-hearted.

Reasons I've adopted survivors in the past :

    • - They spawned weirdly close to me and clearly didn't expect me to find them in 6 seconds.
    • - They were hiding in such an obvious spot (think the thinnest bush there is) yet I didn't see them for so long that when I finally notice them we're both laughing behind our monitors. (in that case, I hit and leave, and it sometimes evolves into some kind of 'hide and seek' where the survivor tries to find increasingly stupid places to hide and I try to find them. Bonus point if they're a SWF and try to one up each other. That's actually how I met some friends I play with now)
    • - They did a sh*t pallet in a funny way (like, brought down the pallet but stayed on the same side I was on)
    • - They were nice to me (In my first killer game on Midwich, I was stuck downstairs because I couldn't find stairs. A survivor came to find me and guide me with emotes)
    • - [Specifically when I play Hag, my other main] : When they've obviously never gone against Hag and keep walking in my traps. I'm talking like, that one survivor who's been on hook twice already and that keeps running into me or setting off my traps. I'll set up my traps behind them again and leave them be.

I often get a least one wary survivor, but if I already offered to be friendly to them (already brought them to a gen instead of hooking them) I don't get back on my word, I'll let them go.

Favourite map to be friendly on : Temple of Purgation. I just think it's really funny giving a second chance by letting the survivor wiggle out while standing still in the middle of the temple.

Funniest endgame chat I got doing this kind of things : Survivors role playing that they're auditionning to join the Legion

Anyway, sorry for that brick of a comment ! I'm sorry some a*holes made you uncomfortable with friendly killers, but just know that there are genuinely chill killers who actually have fun letting survivors go.

Hope you have fun in your next games !

The stairs cracked me up lol.

  • @DragonMasterDarren said:

I let the last survivor go in one of 4 scenarios

    1. The game was a stomp and i feel bad
    2. The last survivor outplays me in a stupid way
    3. Hatch spawns right next to them after i down them, thus signalling that RNGesus has blessed them and i need to respect that
    4. The last survivor does something hilarious

If they don't trust me i completely understand it, but i always let them go, even if i have to forcefully drag them to the exit gates

    I respect u my friend.

  • @Wampirita said:

When I play friendly, I have ONE trigger that will make me kill everyone.

If we're done farming, and they refuse to leave once I open the gates and They wait out the timer... I DO run Blood Warden. I usually never hook people during farming games, so they never suspect that one random hook in end game.

    NEVER trust friendly killers >:D

I love this 😂🤣😂🤣 Im impatient and I hate when they drag on. Like I dont want to play anymore! Get TF out!

  • @MrPenguin said:

I usually do the gens and get out as well.

However I can say, as a killer I do play "nice" when events are happening, I just want to 1 or 2 hook everyone for BP. I have literally had survivors leave someone else on the hook for the entire 2 hook states til dead even though I'm nowhere near the hook the entire time.

    I can't unhook them myself.

I dont like when Survivors let their teammate just die like that. I know Ive been in matches like that and those survivors I have no problem putting them down.

  • @RpTheHotrod said:

Killers tend to be pretty vicious, so I tend to be nice. You know, give the survivors a break from time to time. Sometimes it's nice to have a heal party match every so often.

Normally I do a normal match and give hatch, but if the survivors are having a rough time, like 0 or 1 gens completed and they are on death hooks, I usually let the last two survivors out the gate so they didn't have a completely miserable experience.

Same here 🙂 Ive never hosted a party match but Ive done several matches when I just double hook everyone then leave them alone. Just let them finish. Omg Last night I had this really annoying Jake and I finally downed him along with Dwight the Dwight was a good player but not at all annoying. There they were both dying state and I felt bad so I picked up the Dwight and let him pick up Jake and get out. At the end of the match at the gates we both kinda nodded like “Good match”. I thought that was kinda cool lol

  • I now go in expecting to die which oddly is a little more stress free, I know thats sad lol I just play and practice my looping and chases. Im actually getting a little better since I don't go in determined to survive

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Which 3 Killers would you ban as a Survivor?

Greetings survivors, killers, and both-siders of the Fog! I hope this thread finds you doing well.

So, today was the big day, eh? New update dropping, Dead Hard nerfed (FINALLY), Thanatophobia buffed, Legion and Plague apocalypse, bla bla bla...Originally, my plan was to take a good look at those red backgrounds, even if they are a VERY poor excuse of a reward and immediately close the game.

    But...

Each Forum post here was more confusing than the other, and 95% of them had a complaint of sorts (which is not unusual, but still...) and it was getting a bit difficult to catch up. So I decided to wake up my inner GLaDOS and put my differences with current DBD behind us...for science.

    And well...the result was interesting.

Now, I didn't play MANY trials, because everyone knows I can't stand current DBD for long periods of time, especially if I am by myself, but I did get to see most of the stuff that got changed. And imma just say it right now: there was an impact.

Those changes definitely made an impact.

The DH nerf easily takes the spotlight on this one, and it is such a good change that now I REALLY wish the devs had the same idea back in 2017, when they designed the perk or a few weeks after its release. This had to be done, and in a perfect scenario it would have been done a long time ago.

There is also an odd absence of Decisive Strike...really, in the spam of a few matches I believe I only saw it twice. I don't think the 3-seconds stun time is a terrible change, mostly because DS actually worked like that in the past. Whether or not this perk has been killed remains to be seen.

Now, as for the killer buffs...I have some mixed feelings towards them. I get why they did it, especially with the "Hold W Meta" (which is a stupid thing, btw), but I believe they could have buffed Brutal Strength and Fire Up instead. As for the elephant in the room...

    Thanatophobia...

It has always been one of my favorite perks and seeing it finally buffed felt good. I used it on all of my games, and its usefulness is clear. Paired with gens taking longer, and Legion and Plague being...ya know, I can see this perk being a part of the "new meta", if we can even call it that way.

But, at the same time, there is some damage to be taken into consideration. Things seem to have gotten a bit rough for Solo Queue, even more so than they already were. Look, I strongly believe that the difficulty level of playing solo survivor was not as scary as some people made it out to be, mostly based on my experiences with solo q from 2018 until leaving the Fog.

But now... This update hasn't been kind to it, and I would not be surprised if there are complaints on the way.

Overall, I believe this patch did a few things which were needed...and many which were not, and perhaps even more so than most patches in DBD's recent history. I don't get why they nerfed BBQ, Ruin, Self-Care, and many others. If the objective truly was changing the meta, there are better ways to do it.

But then again, remember that everything you just read are the words of an old dog, one that no longer cares, plays...or even recognizes the game which he used to love.

And you, dear reader? What do you think of the changes released today?

I will be more than happy to read them!

As Killer I really enjoy it! but I can tell you I will probably never play as survivor again. Im Solo and this update to me is absolutely horrible. Especially the 90 second generators! I hate this because I enjoyed Survivor, Im not great but Im ok as survivor. I think the ones who say love the update are probably veteran survivors or Killer mains or in teams. I would love to see if there are any “Ok” survivors like myself who have been playing a while feel.

  • @amazing_grace said:

I would say that as long as you were continuing to progress the game and still trying to play legitimately, then I wouldn't have been annoyed as a killer. If I could tell people were progressing the gens, then it was on me not being able to find them or patrol well enough.

I had a similar situation happen recently where my one friend got disconnected after completing the first gen with me and then the second survivor suicided on hook. So it's now a 2v1 with 4 gens left to go, 2 of them being over half completed though. The other survivor and I get two more gens completed with 25% started on the one. I eventually get hooked and the other survivor actually decided to unhook me. The demo continues to go after me and then mid chase at shack he just decides to swing at the gen to let me finish it. Literally mid-chase the killer decides to let us escape because I guess he respected that we didn't give up and continued to play. I personally was try harding my butt off because I was 2 pips away from iri and didn't want to keep losing one/gaining one cycle.

Some killers go easier on you once they realize you never stopped trying to play the game even with disconnects/suicides on hook and others just want to go next game. I don't care really with what the killer chooses because I've been on both sides, but hitting on hook is unnecessary.

Thats a pretty awesome story. Yea i really respect players like that, again I know they dont have to but it just shows they like to play a fair match kinda like myself. Sometimes there is a long wait for matches and it sucks they have to wait for a match again just because some sore losers decided to quit.

😂😂 That I would totally understand haha I think its so funny when that hex notice goes up and I see the remaining Survivors just peace out.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

If it's clear you're doing gens (which you were since it went from 4 to 1), I'll generally let them go.

But as a survivor, I recognize that the killer has no obligation to "play nice" just because my teammates were a bunch of jerkfaces. Sucks but whatchagonnado?

Im the same way, I know its how the game is played but I like to play fair I know its not necessary but Ive come across so many jerks and I don’t like to be one of those. I remember being new and had so many cool killers who knew what was up Im also kinda the same way now. Yesterday I had 2 newbies who I could totally tell were new because of their gameplay and I just couldn’t bring myself to kill them lol I don’t know why I feel bad I know its just a game.

  • @Objectively_speaking said:

Just a bad match all around, with the two survivor leaving and the long game. Usually, if that happens to me I either let them get gens done or just hook and kill the two remaining. But I am sorry you got hit on hook repeatedly, sometimes killers hit once on hook to silence the screaming but that might have changed.

Total bad match. I hate when they drag out but in this case I didnt care because of the constant hitting while on the hook and he would only do it to me and not Bill 😕

  • @egg_ said:

I understand your point of view, but in a match where two people immediately give up turning it into a 2v1 at 4 gens, as a killer I'd just want to get over with it and move to the next game

Playing hide and seek with two extremely immersed survivors who manage to do 3 more gens was probably extremely frustrating for the killer, I wonder how long the match was (unnecessarily?) prolonged because of this, while the point gain for everyone was probably extremely low

Basically unfun and not worth the time at all

When situations like this happen I usually try to get at least one more out of the game and go for the rng, whoever find the hatch first wins

The slapping on hook was kinda petty though

Totally get ya. Yea the match was going on a little longer then I expected but to my defense he kept hitting me every time on the hook which really pissed me off. He would only hit me like that and I think it’s possibly because I had my gay flag to show my support for last months gay pride, so Thats primarily why I did it. Usually Im like just kill me already. Sometimes the killer will even be cool in that case and just give whoever’s left a break since its really not a fair fight. I know they don’t have to but its really cool of them when they do.

Yea you are definitely right, every killer can have their challenges but I really don't find anyone who bothers me as much, even Nurse because I usually just move out of the way quick left or right, shes really not as annoying to me, yea she might get me but I usually think wow that person was really good just because it seems playing her can be difficult especially on console. The only other one I hate is obviously legion. My goodness those matches take forever.

  • @Coordi said:

I find him especially challenging because I am obsessed with locking the lockers so I get snatched more than I really ought to. 😆

Lmao me too. I feel somehow safe when I lock them when I know damn well its not gonna do Shiz and I probably shouldn’t be doing it right away. I mean locking them might give me what? Another half a second before I get knocked down. 😁😒

  • @Huge_Bush said:

I don't think he is really difficult, but he is strong. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being Best (Nurse), I would put him at a solid 8 maybe 8.5. I do really hate his nightfall. Mr Baldy and tentacle daddy’s zombies OMG I absolutely love that! So hilarious. Love to hear your names for others hahaha

Unfortunately its just surviving the trial or getting kills. Its just a mess unfortunately, cause sometimes there is that ONE survivor who runs the killer for 5 gens and get facecamped at the end, he will die and get a worse match afterwards even though he facilitated the other 3 escapes.

Wow. Thats really messed up. So the survivor that pretty much kept the killer distracted the whole game and dies at the end basically wont get to move on to play against the players that are more difficult because they didn’t survive? And the Survivors who are not probably that great do get stuck playing the more difficult matches?

  • Im down too if this is still a thing. I can use some practice

  • @loothound said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/331969/matches-and-rank

your rank is not used for matchmaking. It is purely cosmetic and only used for bloodpoints at the end of the month. If you escape as survivor or kill survivors as killer your mmr will go up by an unknown amount and eventually you should be going up aganist better players as your skill increases.

Oh really? That I did not know then! So rank is just for those points on the 13th of every month. Thanks for explaining that. So that what everyone means when talking about MMR and it being “Unknown”. I dont like that part 😕 Ive had matches where I get completely slaughtered and I feel extremely bad for my team.

  • @DY86 said:

i take it ur talking about survivor, yes? If so, the more u escape matches the more skilled the killers ur gonna face.

Yes. Well both killer and Survivor. Im ok not great and Im always confused why if I just had a crappy match is the rank increasing And also does it go by the amount of points you earn after a match? Or its really just about surviving and the amount of kills?

  • @MrsMaliciousX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/331969/matches-and-rank

Its SBMM..Which basically means the better you do the better people you go against, the worse you do the less skilled people you play,

You could just be starting out get like 2 or 3 4k games and then go against someone with 6k hours on the game whos been playing for 6 or 7 years.

So even If I just get lucky and do well a few matches Killer or Survivor it doesn’t matter? Rank will still increase? Im currently iridescent IV and how I got there I have no idea because I definitely have bad matches more then good. I know you cant level back down. That part I get. I also know it depends on how many people are online too. Right?

  • I dont enjoy going against him at all and personally I feel he is at an extreme advantage. He can teleport to any locker he has a perk so you can see survivors no problem near a locker and other added perks that he can definitely use to increase its difficulty more. BBQ, No way out, surveillance, discordance and more.

And I can never see in his stupid darkness! Im just Wandering around with no clue what Im doing so he always ends up finding you. Im console so its just really not fun for me. Whenever I see those locks on lockers I know its gonna be annoying. Especially going against a veteran PC players.

Im Ok at the game but not great and Ive been playing since last September so Ive definitely practiced a bunch.

The devs don't want to show you either.

If you play killer late at night or prime time, expect imbalanced matches. It's the result when the surv/killer ratio is 1:12, 1:30, and 1:50.

What?! Ah man. That stinks because I work during the day so I usually cant get on real early. Ratio like The times when the more experienced players come on?

If thats the case I totally understand now. Matches are definitely hard to find at night. I noticed in the Day survivor is available right away but Killer is longer to get a match and at night vice versa
