There'll def be a Konami themed one with Pyramid Head & Dracula since that'd be an easy one to get both licenses introduced into the 2v8 pool just like how RE did it.
-
Think about it this way
If Oni's power wasn't on a big cooldown and he had it 24/7 - he'd be probably the 2nd most busted Killer in the game no contest. Maybe even better than Nurse if played super well.
The fact that he has periods of time without his power and has to work to use it is what makes him a balanced character
-
Anti-healing perks are really good for keeping the pressure on. Personally I run Gift of Pain since my build is a primarily scourge hook centric build; Pain Res, Gift of Pain and Jagged Compass cover all bases pretty much.
My 4th perk is Agitation because when it comes to saving time/getting survivors on scourge hooks agitation is the MVP.

you mean those vague kill stats where they don't really tell you anything? whether this killer got high kill rates from a go next 1 hook or 3 hooks
also doesn't nurse underperform with kill stats consistently? we could buff nurse if you want
I mean there's objectively a few good reasons as to why she underperforms
- She's a free character meaning a lot of new players will try her/play her and not understand how to best utilize her power.
- Her power takes practice and a good amount of muscle memory/knowledge of survivor movements.
- As time's went on, average survivors don't immediately fold vs an average nurse and stand a decent chance if they don't give up.
Also in mmr '1,800 and above' stats from Jan to March this year, Nurse was #4 in the top 5 deadliest killers. The top 3 being a tie between Freddy (Recently reworked), Twins (Always been strong just jank) and Blight (Blight).
-
I think it would be okay if the abandon option became available for Killer if there's 4 survivors remaining when the EGC is triggered; that way if a Killer has a really bad game and just wants it over with, once the last gen pops they can open a gate and abandon to limit frustration and try again in their next game.
Though personally I worry that having the abandon option available before the EGC is triggered might condition killer players into thinking that the game is over when the last gen pops which is not necessarily true at all. Especially with perks like No Way Out and the like. The game's not over till its over.
As long as they make it so it still counts as a 'proper escape' for survivors (Like for adepts/challenges etc) then I don't see too much issue with it personally.
-
From my experience as survivor, it's only 'annoying' while Pain res still has stacks
Though as a teammate if you see a teammate on a gen with a lot of progress after killer hooks someone, a good move would be to find a gen with less progress and 'waste' the DMS on it. I've been doing this in my solo Q games and it def has an impact. Might even make the killer waste time going over to it.
-
Yeah, while I'm very critical of the game at times I'll always appreciate it and the people who've worked on it over the years.
I think the DBD forums is actually my favourite place to discuss the game, I feel pretty free to speak my mind here.
-
You can always blind while the Killer's hooking as well, there's nothing they can do about it and I think that also counts as 'blinding while carrying'

Then explain why majority of survivors want proxy camping gone as well they don't want it to be less frustrating they want it to be easier
Anyone who's got a decent knowledge of both sides of the game knows Killers have to play around their hooks sometimes. Good survivors know this too.
-
Absolutely.
If anything I feel like my experience has only gotten better as time's went on as the frustrations get ironed out more and more.
There'll always be rough games, some busted stuff here and there but end of the day DBD is DBD there's nothing else like it tbh.
-
Clown's an obvious pick for this perk, it meshes so well with his kit.
Another killer I've tried it on is Trickster paired with Superior Anatomy and the movement speed while throwing addon. Pretty fun stuff.
-
I'm actually really excited for this idea ngl
The entire community coming together to create something sounds truly special.

Good to see some fellow Hawkins haters. I knew I wasn't the only one.
There are only two maps I dislike as much as Hawkins, The Forgotten Ruins and Dead Sands. It's pitch black down in the dungeon on Forgotten Ruins and not much easier to see above ground (this might change soon with the new settings coming for console, because it's not as bad on PC). And despite the decent number of pallets on Dead Sands, on this tiny map nowhere really feels safe to me. It's like BHVR decided that rather than balance the Eyrie to address the problem of map offerings, they decided to add one of the most Killer sided maps ever to the realm instead.
I doubt those are unpopular opinions, though. I think those two maps are probably universally disliked.
Dead sands genuinely feels unfinished. Like a map you'd see in a leaked dev build or something.
I know a few maps have the shack as the centerpiece of the map but comparing dead sands to rotten fields/wreckers yard the difference is night and day.

I love legion, but there has to be some give and take with how we buff them, all of these together are WAY too heavy handed, I think you've put a lot of thought into this but havn't really thought about how this would be to play AGAINST, especially as a casual player.
You want to remove all counterplay from this killer when people already hate the mending simulator (I really don't like the being able to hit a survivor twice idea)? I don't understand what the issue with bodyblocking is? It's another survivor using their resources to protect a team member.
Also regarding vaulting, I thought their vault does get effected by perks?
I honestly think the issue is their addons mainly rn, I really like the spot they are in after the buffs I just don't understand the self mend to get debuffs, I prefer'd the old system of on 2nd hit onwards apply debuff.
Of course I'm talking from a casual perspective, not a comp player one.Their vault speed isn't affected by perks but their vault will apply stuff like Bamboozle for example. This is actually on purpose though because around the time of Wesker's release, bamboozle used to increase their vault speed but this was changed to keep things consistent/not cause issues with other perks in the future. I don't think this should be changed
-
Like Mooks said it's possible but it might take time. It took quite a while for Stranger Things to come back and that was with a lot of DBD fans pressuring netflix. There's even rumours that people at netflix were actually annoyed at DBD fans pestering them about it lol
I'm sure BHVR will at least try to acquire the license again down the road though, I don't think they're ones to just leave the idea unexplored if there's a smidgen of hope. I just hope Clive Barker doesn't just straight up say no.
-
Wrecker's Yard isn't as balanced as people think it is for M1 killers.
The shack on the borgo realm maps is too big and makes it way safer than it is in other realms. Also the Forgotten Ruins would be more fun without the portals and just another set of stairs instead.
Nostromo's RNG can really heavily favour one side or the other which makes it easy to play on sometimes, frustrating as hell others.
-
Also had this issue. I think it's something to do with it not being counted as a 'traditional' unhook or something.
-
You thought it would be the new killer on the PTB, but It was me, Dio!

Literally this. I never mentioned main this, or main that. I just told the truth, which from a developer and marketing standpoint, and a minute amount of research, anyone else can learn. Again, downvote all you want. I'm right and you know it.
I think it's more than fair to say since the reveal that there'll be no survivor, it will likely lead to more of the newer people playing Killer instead.
Not that there won't be an influx of new people to survivor but if you think about the biggest chapter that brought in players, it had content for all sides. ST & RE both had 2 survivors and a killer which meant no matter what everyone had new content.
I'm sure some Fnaf fans will wanna play DBD to see the Fnaf style gameplay from the survivor side but the lack of survivor really hinders that I think.

I think that part about face camping needs to be stressed more. Cause there's so many people who will see a killer 20 feet from the hook and call it "face camping". That's literally not what that is, lol
Same logic as people who get unhooked then don't heal, start repairing and then call it tunnelling when they get punished for it. In my games I always punish those types of mistakes, it's a good way for people to learn I think.
-
Survivor shouldn't be made easier
It should be made less frustrating and that's what I think the whole point of a lot of these changes are. Abandon is there to quickly get out of losing games/curb bleedout matches.
Anti-camp isn't there to stop Killers from controlling unhooks and playing smart, it's there to actually punish facecamping itself which, again is a very frustrating thing to be on the end of.
-
There was actually a brief period of time where trying to hit a survivor on the hook would act like you were hitting a wall. It was a certain patch I can't remember which one, years ago now.
I think people either reported it as a bug or the devs intentionally put it back in because it's considered part of dbd culture or smth like that.

If you think that you are magically going to stop this "give up" behavior by slugging them, by all means continue thinking that.
You are making it inconvenient for them to do it often, but you aren't stopping them from their next matches. You aren't disincentivizing anything.
This is why its not really thinking big picture. In the moment, sure for your match and your lobby you are wasting their time. But this kind of behavior doesnt just stop because someone made another person wait 2 minutes. You can just alt tab and watch youtube or get a drink in that time.
Im not saying this is right to do at all, just giving up. But your also not doing anything productive by "roleplaying dbd police" either
And a bot is too variable. Most players will just go next if someone else did. Sadly.I can only speak for myself, but I don't do it out of some sense of 'dbd policing'.
I do it because as a solo Q main teammates like them are legitimately the worst kind of thing in this game and so I'm not going to reward their annoying behaviour by giving them what they want. If you want out of a match THAT badly, then DC.
And yeah it starts at 2 minutes, but the DC penalty is also there to make players who get so upset they DC a 'cool off' period. That's it's other function.

Im not trying to shift blame yes, it originated from the spazoid that wants to give up early 100%.
I am just illustrating that anyone thinking they are doing something, just or right,by slugging the person out is not really thinking big picture is all.
The person that is "going next" doesnt really have a lose condition here. Either they waste everyone elses time or they go next.I mean, you are doing something technically - you're wasting THEIR time. Making it more likely they'll just DC and get punished by the game's systems for it
If they just DC'd at least then the other 3 people have a bot who will contribute something to the match instead of giving up on first hook.

That's exactly what I mean, the spawns seem more random than normal. Harder to triangulate the box.
Man and I thought I was just bad.
I played a match on cowshed and even with a good idea where everyone was, I could not find the box to save my life.
-
Map offerings was a big one. Autohaven Macmillan 24/7 gets so old. I know they are finally on their way out but it's taken so many years to get to this point
Other than that, survivors giving up no matter what you do is also a big demotivation. I know some killer players probably always relish an easy 3v1 but I don't, it's boring as hell there's no stakes.

I have a list of all the Killers I have found that also are glitched to my knowledge, alongside other general glitches:
Ghostface: Glitched (Minor)- Reveal latency off, causing long "THX" style Reveal noise.
- Reveal mechanic seems bugged in that he's not being revealed when he really should be (not sensitive enough).
- Ghostface is sometimes at distance able to stalk through solid objects.
Dredge: Glitched (Game-Breaking)- Occasionally cannot see locked lockers while teleporting especially during Nightfall.
- Nightfall causing SERIOUS Survivor-sided frame drops and lag.
- Teleporting to a locker or doing anything with a locker may crash the game.
Dracula: Glitched (Major)
- Transforming to another form is extremely laggy.
- Teleporting to vaults as Bat can sometimes crash the game.
- Drac may freeze while transforming.
- Scratchmarks occasionally do not show up for Bat.
- Hellfire is seriously delayed; collision incorrect on short walls.
Pig: Glitched (Major)
- There appears to be a slight delay with setting Reverse Bear Traps and performing Ambushes.
- Pig can occasionally get stuck on objects if she hits them when she finishes her Ambush.
Oni: Glitched (Game-Breaking)
- Demon Dash is still having issues with flicking, this is an old glitch that wasn't fixed.
- M2 attacks may improperly be gaining the effects of certain perks.
- Demon Strike is STILL causing Oni to freeze and may crash the game if performed against collision objects.
Myers: Glitched (Minor)
- Myers can, like Ghostface, occasionally stalk through walls at distance.
- Tombstone Piece and Tombstone appear to rarely crash the game during Mori.
Nemesis: Glitched (Game-Breaking)
- Multiple cosmetic and in-game tentacle difficulties.
- NO attacks are acting as anything other than basic damage.
- Worse than usual zombie spawn logic.
- Chests appear to be bugged in that sometimes the Killer Instinct of vaccine use does not properly proc.
Pinhead: Glitched (Major)
- It appears sometimes that the combo Iridescent Lament Configuration + Chatterer's Tooth is not highlighting/hiding the box like it should.
- Problematic Box Spawn logic.
It's very unlikely that these will be fixed soon because Pinhead is no longer in the game, technically. :(
All Killers:
- Hit detection is wonky on all attacks.
- Hooks sometimes spawn in ways that make them unusable.
- Killers with spawned objects have bad spawn logic.
- Xeno tunnels and Sadako TVs can spawn in a way that using them freezes the player.
- Some perks improperly activate on M2 attacks.
All Survivors:
- Some Killer effects cause serious latency and framerate issues.
- Pallet stuns appear to be bugged in that they are refusing to work, or work and then cause the player to vault by mistake, often into the Killer.
- Vault logic feels badly off.
- Using lockers may crash the game.
All players:- Problemetic cosmetic glitches.
- Graphical errors from new shaders.
- Ping issues and server latency issues.
- Issues with spawn logic.
- Some maps are spawning broken tiles or extremely strong tiles meant for 2v8.
- Certain icons are badly glitched and show a broken texture image.
And this is just what I have noticed over the past day or two I have been able to play. It's really, really bad right now…
Any chance for an elaboration on "problematic box spawn logic" for Pinhead?
I've played a few rounds as him lately and in one of my games I felt like the box spawning was really off but I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to.

Indoor levels (my favourite) make it hard to specifically pin where a killer could be. A chucky might take an off angle to prepare his power(which will result in nothing if I catch even a millisecond of his aura), or a loud and proud Wesker/Ghoul could be littering the entire level with TR on a multi floor area and you wanna know if he's upstairs or downstairs.
Swf technically don't need as much info since they have comms and 4 sets of eyes but they use info better than anyone else because they have comms. No strings, no hassle, just easy info.
I'm having a field day in midwich and rpd. huntress getting pre run to oblivion
So Rapid Response is the new object because it could potentially counter indoor maps…?
I really don't understand why people have latched onto this horrible perk. I assumed people would complain about it giving wallhacks midchase.

You get on demand team wide callout on a similar cooldown to Object. Just hitting the sprint button is easier than touching a gen for the first time or meeting any of the other prerequisites or requiring Killer interaction like Alert. Fogwise relies on RNG. Fogwise also depends on not being chased.
But if the Killer's chasing someone in a SWF (Which they will), then what's the point in a 2s callout when everyone already knows who's being chased and the person being chased can just say where the Killer is
With old Object, all the obsession had to do was sit on gens and look at the Killer from afar and they had total uninterrupted wallhacks p much. 2s is nothing.
-
It actually makes the default look better than the prestige in a lot of cases
Default cenobite vs bloody cenobite for example.

This perk is the new object.
How is seeing the killer for 2 seconds every 30/40 or so seconds in any way comparable to unlimited aura reading on the Killer as long as you're not being chased?
There are quite frankly survivor perks that do Killer aura reading much better, longer and in more important situations.
- Poised let's you see the Killer for 6 seconds when you start a gen and 14 when one is finished. Isn't used by SWFs.
- Inner Focus let's you see the Killer for 10 seconds whenever anyone loses a health state. Isn't used by anyone, nevermind SWFs.
- After a gen gets done, Dark Sense let's you see the Killer for 10 seconds whenever they come within 24m of you. Isn't used by SWFs.
- Current Object will show you the Killer's aura every 30 seconds if you're the Obsession and also shows the Killer if they can see you with their perks. Still not used by SWFs really, some might use it for calling out perks.
- Wicked shows the Killers aura for 20 seconds any time you are unhooked.
- Fogwise shows the Killer's aura for 6 seconds after hitting a great skillcheck. Isn't used by SWFs really.
This isn't all of them but do you see my point?
You know what aura perks are used by SWFs? Windows of Oppertunity, Scene Partner and sometimes Kindred with someone using Open Handed. That's it from my experience. Bond/Empathy for Flashie save oriented teammates as well maybe.

DS. OTR. Babysitter which I might add just got an a completely insane buff it didnt need and thats just to name a few. There are some powerful exhaustion perks but to say they are the most powerful perks in the game is totally wrong. DS and OTR are more powerful than any of the exhaustion perks in the game.
Notice how none of the perks you mentioned are info perks.
No info perk in the game is as strong as any of those perks, SWF or no SWF. The only info perk that's ever been super broken with SWF was old object of obsession. Nothing else comes close

Survivors have so many powerful perk options that not being able to run an exhaustion perk isnt really as much of a downside as you are thinking it is.
Exhaustion perks are the most meta defining powerful perks in the game though
Any SWF wanting to win WILL use them.

THe people saying it was too weak are idiots.
Just one look at Rapid Response would be enough for a reasonable person who is using their brain to realize that this perk is disgustingly overpowered in the hands of a SWF. On demand information for all 4 survivors at the cost of 1 perk slot because of Comms. I think you will agree, that is not a conclusion that is difficult at all to draw.
"but it only lasts 2 seconds!" is irrelevant. The amount of time the survivors get the aura reading literally does not matter. The problem is you are giving survivors on demand information on the killer with no tell to the killer that they are having their aura read, and on a SWF this gets communicated so all 4 players get that information at the cost of 1 perk slot.SWFs already know where the killer is basically at all times anyway so your argument doesn't really hold much water.
Again, SWFS do not need info perks. That is one of the big ways people say SWF is OP because they get 'info perks' for free on comms.

If a survivor is repairing a generator, and the SWF wants to know where the killer is, then yes, the Sprint Burst is better used to trigger the killer aura reading, so the entire SWF can know where the killer is.
Because if it turns out the killer is moving towards them, the survivor can start hiding earlier, and won't need their Sprint Burst.
Or they can just go
"Hey anyone seen the killer yet? who is it?"
"It's a Clown, he's going to my gen"
Again, SWFs do not rely on nor need info perks. I wouldn't call them useless but… Having comms makes them redundant which is one of the big complaints about SWF to begin with. Everyone knows that.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3922440#Comment_3922440
People can combo it with Sprint Burst, so they don't need a locker. Someone can just voice comm "Where is the killer", and their teammate can let go of the generator they were repairing, Sprint Burst for 0.1 seconds, tell the SWF where the killer is, then go back to repairing the generator.
Why do you think OoO got nerfed, if "actual SWFs'" don't use info perks?
OoO got nerfed for two reasons:
- Killer players complained about it to hell and back (I was one of them)
- If the obsession was not in chase they had unlimited aura reading on the killer
Notice the highlighted words: "Unlimited". 2s of aura reading is literally nothing compared to that.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3922436#Comment_3922436
You honestly don't think the perk combo is worth it in SWFs, where the survivor can use voice comms to announce the killer's location to the rest of the team?
It's so awful the Ghoul was released with 3 absolute trash perks, but the new survivor gets 2 perks that do so much in SWFs. This is why we should never believe people when they say they want to bridge the gap between solo q and SWFs.
Please think about what you're saying. SWFs don't rely on info perks. They just don't.
This is how actual SWFs play the game:
"Hey teammate being chased, where's the killer"
"Killer is at the shack"
This not how actual SWFS play the game:
"I'm gonna keep repeatedly jumping in lockers/making myself exhausted so i can briefly see the killer briefly and tell you where he is".
No SWF will do this.
The only way I see this perk being used is either brief aura reading after someone using head-on or exhaustion gamers using it with eyes of belmont to see the killer mid chase for a bit. (Something a lot of other perks already do!)
-

What the perk says doesn't matter. Eruption did exactly what the perk description said it did, but it still got nerfed. Many killer generator perks did exactly what the perk descriptions say they did, but they still got nerfed.
The important part is the perk SHOULDN'T work the way it does, because it's too much value in SWFs.
Why are you overreacting about this perk? Nobody is going to use it. It's actual garbage. (Sorry to be harsh)
2s of aura reading is literally nothing. You get more info from the basekit hud than you do 2s of aura reading.
-
The only issue I have with Ghoul is how seemingly generous the first hit is.
I don't have an issue with the actual concept of him getting the first hit super quick but a lot of the time it feels like he uses his first token then he's immediately grabbing you and locking you in place and some of the angles I've been hit from make no sense at all. I've legitimately got screenshots of me being completely around a corner and still getting grabbed and injured from it.
Is this an actual skill issue or is it just THAT generous?
-
Gacha game UI in our DBD? More likely than you think.
-
They just look gross, really doesn't do the whole nature theme justice imo.
-
I feel like there's a reason Ethan Winters hasn't been added yet. He's one of the few 'main' protagonists missing from the game in some way. We know that Capcom and BHVR were discussing Wesker/Nemesis at the same time when the first RE chapter was being planned so it's quite possible that Ethan Winters and RE7/RE8 content was being discussed at that time as well.
-
For me I see it as not playing into their hands. They want to get out of the match without being punished by the game's systems (aka they wanna DC but can't) so they do what the OP mentioned and ruin the match for the other 3 people. 4 people if you're one of the many many Killer players who wants a genuine match, not some boring 3 v 1.
Slugging them basically gives them four courses of action:
- Stop messing about and just play the match
- DC and get a penalty
- Sandbag their teammates and risk being banned
- Hold shift to bleed themselves out and waste their own time
And to people saying 'oh you're holding someone in a match who doesn't wanna be there'. If they need to leave that badly, they can always DC/Alt F4.

The Killrate stats should not be affected by that. And honestly, if I play Killer, I dont care about the MMR-gain or loss of the Survivors. Why should I even? MMR is just a number for matchmaking, no trophy or anything.
As much as I agree with you about MMR not really meaning that much, for me it's the principle that players who are willing to play out their matches to the end are 'penalised' by the game's system by saying they lost, whereas if they abandoned in that scenario then it's a 'draw'. If anything both should be treated the same.
What if in the future MMR does end up meaning something or having more impact for example. We know an 'MMR update' is on the roadmap afterall.
-
Why is scenario #2 considered a draw??? If a survivor stays in that match, it's basically over so it's a loss. Why are survivors who are willing to roll with the punches and stay being punished for being good sports and taking their losses? That makes no sense
-
@SoGo said:
I will just say that I don't get the appeal of Blight.
His power is disorienting, even with the green aura add-on (albeit much less), he bumps into every pixel there is, and his turn rate is pretty limiting (unless you want to throw your mouse out of the window, then maybe lol).
And I know, I know, skill issue. But I don't get why people play him willingly. I just don't see the fun in that.
The best way to sum up why a Blight appeals to a lot of people basically boils down to this:
Regular m1 killer with power that covers basically all bases.
Mobility? Check.
Chase power? Check.
Strong addons? (Albeit weaker than before) Check.
Throw on an aura perk or two and you're basically playing the most minmaxed version of a standard m1 killer pretty much. Most other killers on the roster have some form of weakness to account for, Blight really doesn't.
The turn rate issue stops being a problem when you realise that Blight's hitbox when he swings in rush is VERY generous if you're close enough to the survivor. The hitbox shrinks as he lunges, meaning if you're right on a survivor and swing, you WILL hit them even if they aren't necessarily on screen for it.

It's nice to be reminded of those changes and the adjustments over time. It's just so easy to feel cynical and focus on the negatives. But you may be right, there's always a chance that the voices of the people who care/enjoy her playstyle will be heard and acknowledged. Thank you, that does make it feel less daunting and distressing, I just hope we're heard.
You know it's quite funny since I've always been a massive SM hater since day one. I just don't like a single thing about her and that's just how I feel.
Even still, I also main a character that a lot of people on the survivor side don't like very much (Legion) and I think about how I'd feel if they did some kind of Legion rework that completely changed them as a character and I really get it.
My hope is they try to meet somewhere in the middle in this whole thing, A killer's rework is a colossal failure if it alienates the core audience of people who liked the character before, in my personal opinion.

Yeah I very much was upset with that. I would've liked the survey to have included an opportunity to voice concerns directly/make a comment. I just hope other Skull Merchant Enjoyers voice their opinions and maybe Behaviour won't utterly change her. But it's such a toss up at this point.
I think a 'rework' is inevitable, as in it's already planned and will happen since it's been amped up and promised for so long but I don't necessarily think that'll mean the playerbase of that character will have their feedback ignored. As little faith I know many have in BHVR (And it's warranted), I think there are people who understand the importance of a Killer characters core audience
I think Sadako's the prime example of a character who they tried to 'improve' and completely failed at, to which they seemingly listened to the character's 'fans' let's say and ultimately we got there in the end.
Though how long that takes, is up in the air. Look how long Hillbilly was left in a completely ruined state before finally being restored to where he should've been.
