  • The LAST thing this perk needs is a buff.

Bardic is only good if people are nearby to get use out of it, and it only becomes stronger than just doing a gen yourself if there are at least 2 people nearby. So you have to be turbo inefficient for the perk to be better than just spreading out and doing gens. I call these type of perks "bait" perks, because you actually do gens slower by using the perk.

Getting free progress off of skill checks is already good. You can then get an average of +1% progress but then it can get STRONGER and STACKS with great skill checks. It's only a bait perk to people who are bad. If you're already teamwide resetting then theres literally no downside to using it.

  • bardic inspiration literally got buffed to be better. A gen progression perk got BUFFED. The last thing this game needs is for gen progression perks to be buffed even in compensation to base game mechanics (cough cough deja vu).

  • I mean hey if people would rather face huntress I guess thats what they want. They finally add a decent killer since wesker and people want him nerfed day 2.

Me running to a portal or 1 of the 3 strong windows downstairs:

  • It's a 38 second cooldown ability. It really shouldn't be considered getting nerfed not even 3 DAYS into the live release. What happened when bhvr wanted to let things cook before making changes?

  • Franklins is just… not strong if you simply press R on your keyboard when you hear a terror radius.

Not Peanits but from what I can say it's intentional. At the end (in misc) of todays patch notes they say that Chucky was able to scamper vault windows and this was not intended. They wanted to remove the scamper thing completely.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZDH943J1KV34/screenshot-20240604-013126-samsung-internet.jpg

The funny part: In the announcement of the PTB and Chucky changes they said "Chucky can only Scamper while performing Slice and Dice" but only talking about the issue with the Scamper under palett and then do M1 for free hit. So due to this and the fact in the PTB Window Scamper was there many players thought (myself included) they only remove the Scamper Palett. So in my opinion this is was very misleading and ad communication on BHVR's part.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4NAPPOVZSOG2/screenshot-20240604-013434-samsung-internet.jpg

Yeah well given the recent plague changes where they claimed BOTH not losing your power to any stun was a bug and losing your power to every stun was a bug you can never really be sure.

  • Yeah I remember in the ptb there was 4 windows in basement and 3 of those were just super strong last I saw but IDK if that changed with the official chapter release.

Removing something that’s broken, weird and has no counter play equals making anything flashy related skill less? That’s not why they did it by the way lol, so you got your facts wrong too😂

They did it because server lag.

No it was a compromise to removing rapid flashlight clicks (was a post on the forums about someones cousin getting an epileptic episode thanks to flashlight macros so it got patched shortly after). People complained that when they messed up the timing they couldn't let go then click again if they shined it too early so they added a .2 buffer to the flashlight then buffed it to .4 at a later time.

  • I would take no progress/regress perks for maybe 100 second generator OR current 90 with a true side objective that gets altered on what killer you're against. If you're playing against a nurse, blight, spirit then the game is more lenient with side objectives.

  • I'd say most of those I feel the same about other than flashlights. Ever since the buffer it feels impossible to miss a flashlight save if you're in position unless you are just that bad at them.

  • I mean its gotten to the point where dbd just isnt a horror game anymore. sure it's in the horror category but that implies it has horror themes but still feels like it a party game that tries to be competitive.

  • Because the game is movement speed based? You can have one of the best hinders in the game (clown) but still fall short in many matches because it's clown. No map pressure = lose against competent survivors.

  • Me when I enter a locker forcing the Oni to grab me so his power ends:

  • Gas Heaven balanced? Yeah IDK about that one with most of the fillers being some of the easiest to play as surv with the huge gen spread still.

  • Happens both ways. Laggy survivors tend to ice skate so they could be going on direction but then rubber band the other messing up multiple killers powers.

  • It's there just a very hidden grayed out verison that blends in with the background.

I sometimes see killers leave hook only to proc the perks then go back to proxy camp, then survivors can not do Gen or secure.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3716874#Comment_3716874

Thats why you need to leave hook and interrupt other survivors from doing Gens. If you down Meg while Clau & Jake still sit on Gens, 2 survivors on hook will never be survivors' advantage. If Clau or Jake only go to unhook Dwight once you hooked Meg , it can be you chase the Clau and the Jake has to unhook both of them, then do the healing. No Gen would be touched.

Still better off creating incentives. Punishing camping or tunneling would require a major rebalance of the game.

  • The best way to reduce camping is to make actual good incentives to go chase people. With some perks like Pop and Pain res getting nerfed it does indirectly nerf the incentive to chase.

  • I mean does it really matter THAT much? Most if not all people don't use filters like these except comp players which already are very scarce. End of story: Reshade is white listed because you cannot physically block out all filters and removing reshae from the white list will just cause people to find other ways that aren't detectable by EAC. Better yet my monitor itself has different filter settings that allows me to change saturation, contrast, brightness and color temp. It might not be the full customization but its still something.

I cant tell what you're shook about lol. Going easy usually means not a serious game, right? I assume OP didn't load in with zero perks and then try their hardest? If not, I dunno. Whatever lol

Im just baffled how people clearly coming in with the intent to win somehow end up with a tie against a perkless non-trying killer. By all means this should have been at least a 3 out.

  • Jesus christ even when going easy (I assume no tunneling/camping first down) they still get 2 outted? Especially with no perks against Wesker which without tunneling is like a Low A tier possibly high B killer?

but there is nothing to hide. what does it change if you know the user name of a toxic #########/cheater?

you can report them all the same. the only diffrence is that you cant pinpoint your anger at that one specific person but a namless faceless thing

It's because cheating has become so wide spread that because of a lot of them using anon mode you have to dodge nearly every anon mode you see whether they were a cheater or not.

  • Yeah i get the pure intentions of BHVR adding anon mode but several people just hide behind it to be toxic or worse yet… cheaters.

Having distortion recharge during chase is a terrible idea. That's basicly saying the killer is entitled to a free down/hook on you in a game of hide and seek, because you will eventually go down during a chase most of the time.

If anything, make distortion regain tokens by progressing the game. Like gens, healing, cleansing/blessing totems and maybe chase as well. But not only chase as a requirement to regain stacks.

But personally, I don't think distortion needs a nerf, at all.

EDIT: And I personally think that playing stealthy is also a legit strategy inside this game. Just like it is a legit strategy to camp or tunnel. We can make all gameplay styles just like one way to play the game, but then the game will go dull and people will leave the game.

Yeah but the problem with stealthy is that people will stealth then complain when a killer can't afford to spend 30+ seconds looking for each survivor when they patrol a gen and ends up camping or tunneling. It still is overall just an overtuned perk on how it counters so much for so little.

  • Yeah idk how it lasted this long since apparently its been as old as the endurance bug.

  • @Venusa said:

    I don't see a problem with Distortion.

Chase perks like dead hard and mft got nerfed into ground and chases last much shorter now also thanks to how small most maps are after their reworks with goofy ass unsafe pallets.

So now survivors are like "okay then I'll hide instead" and this time killers are going "NO YOU CAN'T. I DON'T WANT YOUR PERKS TO CARRY YOU DURING CHASE BUT I DON'T WANT YOU TO HIDE EITHER!". At some point killers need to pick a struggle.

There are so many killer perks that give you aura reading for free and it's always a gamble when a survivor brings Distortion. They might just waste a perk slot.

I don't understand the obsession with nerfing anything that could be useful to survivors into the ground. Survivors don't have many strong perks left anyways and the leftover meta are perks that came out years ago.

Maybe we should let survivors who prefer to hide and stealth enjoy the game a bit because they're also needed for this game to function.

DH is FAR from nerfed into the ground and MFT got a well deserved requirement for a powerful effect. Distortion most of the time only enforces the idea for the killer to camp/tunnel because on average I find distortion users to just immerse most of the match whenever they hear a hint of terror radius. Distortion also supplies information like if the killer has I'm all Ears, Lethal or BBQ. And the very small requirement of being in a terror radius to recharge stacks…. It's so wide spread that killers that want to use aura reading just really can't because 2/4 survivor run a perk that actively COUNTERS 80+ aura reading addons/perks.

The perk is just plain overtuned. Move the requirement to get tokens back to chase time instead of incentivizing immersing inside a terror radius or hell make it start with 0 stacks.

    Unlikely.

Most evidence supports tunneling being present, in some capacity, in every game.

Yeah but to the degree some people make it out to be…. People like Scott Jund have even done experiments and found out that the amount of tunneling is NOWHERE near the exaggeration people have portrayed.

  • @Pulsar said:

    Yeah, no.

Tunneling is not good for the game on a large scale, especially not at the levels we are seeing now.

Those levels are largely exaggerated or mostly come from people who play at 10PM-2AM.

  • 3 second ds was more of a skill check on how to use the perk instead of being "useless". Bad players couldn't get use out of it but good players could get massive value from it. Also I wouldn't consider it tunneling anymore when you intentionally put yourself between the person im chasing and me. You put yourself in the spot light and then question why people complain when people use DS aggressively.

Killers don't like any perk that has an obvious tell that they were outplayed.

That's the reason why DH/DS are called crutch/second chance perks and NOED is called a 'comeback mechanic.'

I wouldn't pay it any mind.

    1. How are you "outplaying" a killer to force them to eat a DS or leave someone to just unbreakable or plot twist back to healthy? No matter what the killer does in that situation they just lose

      2. You run most of the game with 3 perks and so when end game comes you get a decent power spike.

      3. Old DH was a crutch. Distance on command is INCREDIBLY powerful and with it even giving you I-frames? It was just a stupid perk that went unchecked for FAR too long.
  • Thats just normal DBD things… The pallet when thrown doesn't instantly have a "stun box" it takes a few frames of start up. Meaning you can get hit when dropping a pallet. Also if an oni is going for you just stick around lockers and enter it whenever you're about to go down to force him out of power.

  • Very hard topic but for an ACTUAL reason no. If a hard of hearing person is using an equalizer I wouldn't consider it cheating. But then if the average joe comes along with no hearing problems and decides to play spirit and magically know where every single person is in the game despite not running and even crouching to lower breathing sounds and getting rid of chase music…. I would consider that cheating.

  • Noed: You play most of the game perkless for a huge power spike in the end
Terminus: Only works if the survivor is injured but even then they still get the speed boost or still get picked up off the ground

The nerf was totally fine and like they did with nerfing DS to 3 seconds long ago… made the perk dummy-proof. You could still get major value from 3 second DS and you can still get major value out of nerfed adrenaline.

  • @Spare_Them_Mori_Me said:

Still a completely uncalled for nerf. The perk wont see nearly as much play. Bad or not bad, this is a stupid nerf.

I'd say it's pretty called for. Adren is a high risk high reward perk. It kinda defeats the purpose if you can come off the hook full health and a sprint burst. I'm sure it doesn't take much coordination even in solo q to pop the last gen when no one is hooked unless other people really NEED the adrenaline mid chase.

  • Victor is not immune to kicks after downing a survivor despite the white aura misleading you to think so. Also controlling victor himself near a hook does not increase the Anti-Facecamp.

  • Other than hardware and game issues this community has proven why we can't disable DC penalties for good.

  • The perks and items at least need to be balanced around 1v4. Its insane how with a build almost dedicated to it you can have 4 health states off hook. Meanwhile The unhooker could have a possible 3 with a styptic. And it's not like you're throwing all your eggs into one basket because the goal of chase is to last as long as possible and making the killer go through MULTIPLE health states is always guaranteed time even with little resources.

I'm just worried because that seems like that meta that will come up with the DS buff. Someone throwing themselves in front of your face where you have to hit them 2 times with it not mattering because 5 seconds gets you across the map against most killers and by that time the unhooker is across the map so you can't really switch targets.

  • @goodfriday said:

If flashbangs aint to blind killers facing a wall then it makes no sense the perk exist. At that point its way better to run flashlight. You know what since people think background player and flashbang is op. Let me use street wise/build last/champion of light and lightfooted with a green flashligh(greenbattery+low amp_). It cause me to ran killers for 3 gens+ alot. That is op because that flashlight combo let me have a perm flashlight.

1 Flashbangs are better since its way harder to tell if someone has a giant torch in their hand or a small grenade
2 They were always better since the buffer to blind buff.

  • Ah yes I love survivor induced camping and I get punished for it because they stay right outside the anti camp range.

  • @WolfyWood said:

    They already have???

Locker saves and canceling fall stagger with vaults both got removed before Blight's.

Ok but cancelling fall stagger was legit OP despite it being available on a select few windows.

  • @NarkoTri1er said:

i want to be honest, i love techs in this game and i think crouch tech is one thing that should also stay in the game.

I was always against removing killer techs because they add more skill expression and increase the skill ceiling of a specific killer. Same with survivors, they also have techs and i think crouch tech should be removed only if e.g. Blight's hugtech truly gets removed.

Ehhh completely denying a killers power because "hehe funny 1/8 inch difference in height you can no longer hit me" doesn't seem like much of a "tech"

  • Yeah given that the twins PTB was a flop I can only see 2 outcomes from that, they just remove the basekit addons and leave them like they were after that or somehow making them even worse to play. Either way the next month and a half is still gonna be stale as nothing really got changed.

  • I would still say trapper. Sure there's myers but trapper cant take you out of the game within 2 minutes of the match starting.

  • Yeah the only thing this system "tries" to do is make the hit look more realistic on the killers POV only. Unfortunately they didn't really code it well as its just "killer is within x meters of survivor while swinging so make the hit look better". This is just proven by when swinging near a survivor mid sacrifice your camera will jolt up despite not being anywhere near their physical model.

  • So someone pointing out genuine mistakes and giving you advice = killer main? Take a step back from your current view and look at what you and your team could have done better in that situation. If you don't believe me ask a good survivor player like Ayrun, JRM or Knightlight what you did wrong there. I guarantee they would tell you the same thing I did. Given that the billy player was extremely good it looks like you didn't stand much of a chance anyway if he did hook you guys. Would most likely end in a cycle of someone unhooked and someone else downed 10 seconds later.

Man you are so disconnected from the survivor side or the game it's no wonder killers keep getting stronger and survivor gets weaker.

That vid proved what exactly? That it's not bannable to slug? Never said it was I said he didn't play as intended. You know hooking survivors. The way the game was meant to be played.

By it not being bannable means it is an INTENDED FEATURE. Bleeding out has even been said as a valid way to end the game as it's a way to make the sure the game doesn't go forever, just because YOU don't agree with it doesn't mean not intended. I pointed out clear mistakes on you and your teams side but it's something you don't want to hear. You and your team made mistakes against a killer player clearly not meant for your guys' caliber. But even then you guys yourselves incentivize the slug by staying near one another against an insta down killer. This could literally happen with old billy btw.

What you guys SHOULD have done is spread out on gens especially against a billy and start running at the first sign of terror radius until you're forced to actually loop. But your one mistake spiraled into the whole team getting slugged. You might not like to hear it but that is the absolute truth of the situation.
